The 9 Marvel’s Comic Book Characters Who Deserve TV Shows

by admin June 23, 2025

Image: Marvel

At this point, just give us something. Depending on which corner of the comic book world you find yourself in, the Hulk is either the strongest Marvel character or is at least able to take on the strongest. Yet, we haven’t seen the gamma ray god do much of anything recently besides get wasted and meditate with his cousin She-Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He’s been in the MCU in his current iteration for 13 years (sorry, Edward Norton), and Marvel hasn’t even scratched the surface of his Omega-level feats.

In the comics, this beast of a man has punched his way out of a dream realm controlled by Nightmare’s mind, lifted Thor’s Mjolnir to become the new God of Thunder, and once warped time by simply punching Red Hulk. But, honestly, there’s enough beautiful, action-packed storytelling in the historic World War Hulk comic series for six seasons and a movie. Since Mark Ruffalo believes the CGI required to do an entire live-action Hulk film would be too expensive, let’s turn it into an animated series so his boundless power won’t be constrained by Marvel’s tight pockets.

Marvel’s Deadpool VR announced for Meta Quest 3 and 3S

by admin June 6, 2025

Today at Summer Game Fest it was announced that everybody’s favorite merc with a mouth is heading to VR! Marvel’s Deadpool VR will release on the Meta Quest 3 and 3S and will feature Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Deadpool.

At Meta, we’ve long believed that VR has the potential to create a really cool Deadpool game. And later this year, we’re making it happen.Today at Summer Game Fest 2025 we announced Marvel’s Deadpool VR, a Meta Quest 3 and 3S exclusive (lovingly) created by Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios, in collaboration with Marvel Games. Finally, a chance to slip inside Deadpool’s sweaty skintight suit and really become the Merc with a Mouth in all his flippy-shooty-off-the-wall glory.

Marvel’s Deadpool VR features an all-new original story. After being pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, Deadpool sees a chance to get rich—like really rich. He signs a sketchy contract without reading any of the fine print and then it’s off to visit a bunch of locations from across the Marvel universe, battling against iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains. It’s real metaverse stuff—in the Marvel Universe sense, not the VR one.

Twisted Pixel’s spent years capturing Deadpool’s unique blend of parkour and combat, building on the beat-em-up bona fides it established in Path of the Warrior.

Like any great VR game, if you can imagine it, you can probably do it. Sure, you can simply stab or shoot your enemies, but where’s the fun in that? Punch someone while holding a grenade? Check. Take your recently exploded-off arm and throw it at the bad guys? Gross, but also check. Hold an enemy’s face into a spinning propeller? A bloody, but efficient, check. Soldiers, demonic dogs, weird humanoid lizards, creepy worm-things, they’re all waiting to be dismembered in creative (some might say sadistic) ways.

Everyone’s favorite charming sociopath is voiced this time around by Neil Patrick Harris.

Marvel’s Deadpool VR is set to release later this year. Stay tuned for more details between now and launch!

Marvel’s New Fighting Game Looks Simply Awesome

by admin June 5, 2025

PlayStation’s State of Play livestream brought exciting news for fans of Marvel’s fighting games, with a surprising twist. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls—arriving in 2026 for PC and PS5—is coming not from Capcom, developer of so many past Marvel games in the genre, but instead from a different Japanese company, Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue).

Also of note, the game is a 4v4 tag-team fighter, and features some snazzy tokusatsu-inspired designs for its large roster of familiar characters.

The announcement trailer touting the collaboration between PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games gives you some eye candy to go with those details:

PlayStation’s official blog offers a few more details beyond that incredibly fun and high-energy teaser video:

”Generally, a team VS fighting game requires the player to learn multiple characters,” explained game director and lead battle designer Kazuto Sekine. “But for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, you only need to master one character in order to play the game. We have designed the mechanics in such a way that you can perform a variety of actions with either traditional fighting game inputs or simple inputs. With the press of a few buttons, multiple characters can appear on screen to provide backup or attack together—creating a new and exciting team VS battle experience.”

Those characters, the teaser and the blog post confirm, include Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Storm, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes). They will each feature “a bespoke set of Normal, Special, and Unique attacks inspired by their abilities and powers in Marvel lore,” with special consideration given to the game’s format as a specifically 4v4 tag-team fighter.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls arrives next year. Will you be checking out based on this first extended glimpse?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition Gets $100 Limited-Time Discount

by admin May 28, 2025

Spider-Man fans can save on all three of Insomniac Games’ superb Spider-Man games for PS5 during PlayStation’s Days of Play 2025 sale. Deals on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition allow newcomers to dive into the trio of open-world action-adventure titles for only $80 total. If you’re a huge Spidey fan, you’ll want to check out the massive discount on Marvel Spider-Man 2’s Collector’s Edition.

On sale for $130–a savings of $100–this PlayStation Direct-exclusive edition comes with a 19-inch statue of Venom alongside Peter and Miles, a steelbook case, and the $80 Digital Deluxe Edition. PS Direct offers free shipping on all orders. You could put some of cash you’re saving toward Dark Horse’s Deluxe Limited Edition Spider-Man 2 Art Book, which is on sale for nearly 50% off at Amazon.

Side note: If you like statues, make sure to take a look at Horizon Forbidden West’s Collector’s Edition while it’s in stock for only $80 (was $180).

Let’s take a closer look at the Spider-Man deals in PlayStation’s Days of Play 2025 sale.

$130 (was $230)

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Collector’s Edition comes with a 19-inch statue featuring both Spider-Men–Peter Parker and Miles Morales–in a battle with a very large, very angry Venom.

The statue is the big selling point here, but you’ll also get an exclusive steelbook case. Unfortunately, the Collector’s Edition does not include the physical edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Instead, you’ll find a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition ($80 value). This edition comes with 10 bonus suits, five for Peter, five for Miles.

The Collector’s Edition was previously featured in PlayStation’s 2024 Holiday Sale, but it was priced at $150. Once this edition sells out, it won’t be coming back. It’s a bit surprising that it didn’t disappear over the holidays, but perhaps the $130 price point will make it happen.

And if you really want a disc to store in your steelbook case, you could use a portion of the money you’re saving here to buy the discounted standard edition detailed below.

$40 (was $70)

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was one of the biggest games of 2023, and it often still sells for its full $70 price.

Insomniac Games built on the formula from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales, delivering the biggest and most dynamic open-world adventure starring Spider-Man yet. Well, Spider-Men, as the sequel features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters. It’s a blast to swing around New York City as either Spider-Man, and each character’s unique combat abilities make switching back and forth between them a consistently satisfying experience.

$40 (was $70) | $20 for Miles Morales

Miles Morales bridges the gap between the two numbered entries in the series. It’s a smaller-scale experience that feels more like a meaty expansion than a brand-new game.

New players will want to opt for the Ultimate Edition, a value pack that includes Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, a great enhanced version of the 2018 PS4 exclusive.

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales — $20 ($50)
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition — $40 ($70)

For more deals, check out our roundup of PS5 and PS4 game deals for Days of Play 2025. Along with dozens of PlayStation games, PS5 owners can get great discounts on DualSense Controllers, the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle, and Pulse Explore Earbuds.

If you’re interested in upgrading to the PS5 Pro, the powerful PlayStation console is on sale for the first time since its release last holiday season. PlayStation has also launched new PS5 Slim Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bundles starting at $400.

Marvel's movie schedule after delays to Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars

Marvel’s movie schedule after delays to Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars

by admin May 23, 2025

The Avengers will assemble again. However, it will be at a later date.

Disney has delayed the releases of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Doomsday moves from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Secret Wars heads to December 17, 2027, instead of May 7, 2027.

Disney was not done with Marvel announcements. The studio also removed three Marvel dates from its calendar: February 13, 2026; November 6, 2026; and November 5, 2027. The February date has no replacement movie, while the two November offerings are now slotted as untitled Disney films.

Only four MCU movies in Phase Six have release dates:

  • The Fantastic Four: First Steps – July 25, 2025
  • Spider-Man: Brand New Day – July 31, 2026
  • Avengers: Doomsday – December 18, 2026
  • Avengers: Secret Wars – December 17, 2027

With Doomsday moving to December, Marvel will have a year between The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It’s Marvel’s longest theatrical movie gap since 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Black Widow. COVID-19 played a factor in that break from 2019 to 2021.

Disney still has a few release dates with untitled Marvel movies scheduled. July 23 is the only 2027 release besides Secret Wars. 2028 features a trio of movies on February 18, May 5, and November 10.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has now implemented a quality-over-quantity approach with Marvel projects. In May 2024, Iger said on an earnings call that going forward, Marvel will only release about two to three movies and two TV shows per year.

Marvel is betting the house on Doomsday and Secret Wars, so the Russo Brothers getting more time to deliver these two tentpoles makes sense. These two Avengers films will transition the MCU into the Mutant Era, where the X-Men will play a prominent role.

Filming on Avengers: Doomsday is underway. Marvel announced the Doomsday cast in March via live stream that ended with Robert Downey Jr. walking into frame. Downey will play the film’s villain, Doctor Doom.

Marvel currently has Thunderbolts* in theaters everywhere. The movie has grossed over $331 million worldwide in three weeks.
