Custodia Chief Doubts TradFi’s Ability To Handle Crypto Bear Market

by admin August 24, 2025

Custodia CEO and key crypto figure Caitlin Long has questioned the readiness of traditional finance firms for their first-ever crypto winter. Speaking with CNBC on Friday at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2025, Long emphasized that while Wall Street’s increasing involvement has fueled the current market cycle, its legacy systems and risk models may prove inadequate when the inevitable bear market returns.

Wall Street Titans May Not Be Ready For A Crypto Market Downturn –  Custodia Boss

In answering a question on the significance of institutional involvement in the crypto market, Long contrasted the early days of crypto, when retail investors and grassroots participants worked to expand decentralization and secure networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum, with today’s landscape dominated by institutional finance. According to the Custodia founder, the cycle is now largely driven by Wall Street titans who are building financial wrappers, derivatives, and corporate treasuries around digital assets.

Notably, institutional participation in crypto has hit record highs in recent years. The Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which launched early last year, have been TradFi’s biggest digital asset success, boasting $53.80 billion in cumulative inflows. Meanwhile, Spot Ethereum ETFs are beginning to gather momentum, registering $8.20 billion since the beginning of July alone.

While this influx has undoubtedly brought credibility and capital to the sector, Long warned that the traditional playbooks of these institutions are not suited to assets with finite supply, e.g, Bitcoin. The former Morgan Stanley executive and Custodia CEO said:

….They (TradFi) are perfectly comfortable taking more leverage than you would take with an asset of finite supply because they have all these mechanisms to bail them out in the event that supply for an asset becomes too tight. They have discount window. They have fault tolerances built into the securities system so that if the books don’t balance, it’s okay. They can always go the next day and get the shares from the market the next day.

By contrast, crypto operates in real time with no external buffers. Caitlin Long explains that this structural difference could leave TradFi firms exposed if they attempt to apply conventional leverage and hedging strategies to a market that behaves rather differently. Having witnessed multiple boom-and-bust cycles since 2012, the Custodia boss expressed certainty that another downturn will come despite the remarkable market growth in the present cycle, and questions whether traditional players will be able to withstand its impact.

Crypto Market Overview

At the time of writing, the total market crypto cap is valued at $3.95 trillion, following a minor 0.94% decline in the past day.

XYZVerse draws investors as it looks to reshape the meme market

by admin August 24, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

As major coins cool, XYZVerse gains investor buzz, with many eyeing it as the next breakout memecoin.

Summary

  • XYZVerse presale heats up as the first sports-driven memecoin eyeing 30x gains.
  • Mixing sports, memes, and GameFi, XYZVerse could be 2025’s breakout presale.
  • It aims to stand with token burns, liquidity reserves, and rewards.

While some well-known coins are seeing less attention this season, more eyes are turning to a new memecoin, XYZVerse (XYZ). Growing buzz around XYZ, paired with its unique features, is drawing in eager investors. Many wonder if this fresh project could soon take the spotlight and change the scene.

The enduring appeal of Dogecoin

Created in 2013, Dogecoin began as a playful take on digital currency, featuring a Shiba Inu, a nod to a popular internet meme, as its mascot. Unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin has an uncapped supply, with 10,000 new coins generated every minute.

This unique characteristic, combined with strong community backing and endorsements from figures like Elon Musk, propelled its value significantly in 2021, briefly elevating it to a top-ten cryptocurrency with a market capitalization exceeding fifty billion dollars at its peak.

Functionally, Dogecoin operates as a streamlined version of Bitcoin. Its network relies on miners to validate transactions and earn new DOGE, benefiting from low transaction fees that facilitate rapid micro-payments and tips. While its open supply might raise concerns for some, this steady flow of coins contributes to the network’s consistent activity.

As Bitcoin approaches new all-time highs, many investors are once again turning their attention to memecoins. With its dedicated fanbase, growing adoption in payment applications, and potential for creative marketing, Dogecoin remains a dynamic asset in the current crypto market cycle.

XYZVerse aims high: Could a 30x jump be on the cards?

XYZVerse is entering the memecoin market at a time when community-driven tokens continue to dominate speculative trading. Lower-cap meme tokens are seeing renewed investor interest. As XYZVerse remains in its presale phase, it could ride this wave — provided it can sustain momentum and secure high-visibility exchange listings once it launches.

What makes XYZVerse different from the sea of memecoins is its attempt to anchor the project in sports culture. The branding leans heavily on partnerships with influencers and athletic figures, giving it a broader, more relatable identity than typical meme-driven tokens.

Tokenomics also play a role in its appeal: the project has built in a deflationary mechanism, with 17.13% of the supply allocated for token burns, helping to counter inflationary pressure. On the stability front, 15% of tokens are reserved for liquidity, a move designed to smooth trading after launch. Finally, with 10% directed toward community rewards and incentives, XYZVerse is actively trying to encourage engagement and long-term holding rather than short-term speculation.

Price forecast: Breaking down the scenarios for XYZ

  • Current presale price: $0.0053
  • Project’s own listing target: $0.10
  • Short-term potential (first 1–2 weeks): $0.15–$0.25, if strong listings trigger FOMO.
  • Medium-term outlook (6–12 months): $0.20–$0.40, assuming sustained growth, new partnerships, and broad exchange support.

Is a 3,000% surge within reach?

XYZVerse has the early ingredients of a successful launch: a strong presale, clear tokenomics, and an active community. Whether that translates into a 3,000% rally from its current presale price depends less on raw hype and more on execution, delivering the promised products, landing high-profile listings, and keeping users engaged beyond launch day.

If those pieces align, $0.10+ is within reach. The bigger question is whether XYZVerse can sustain momentum once the presale adrenaline fades.

Cardano: A green, fast, and future-ready blockchain

Cardano stands out as an innovative blockchain platform designed to support decentralized applications, tokens, and games. Its native cryptocurrency, ADA, serves multiple purposes, allowing users to make payments, save funds, or earn rewards by contributing to the network’s security.

Unlike older blockchain technologies that consume significant energy, Cardano employs a unique, energy-efficient consensus mechanism called Ouroboros. This method ensures network security while maintaining low power consumption. The network’s architecture is cleverly divided into two distinct layers: one for processing transactions and another for executing smart contracts.

This dual-layer design is highly scalable, capable of handling nearly a million transactions per second. In the current market resurgence, there’s a growing shift from energy-intensive mining coins to more environmentally friendly alternatives, and ADA fits this preference perfectly.

Conclusion

DOGE and ADA remain solid, yet focus shifts to XYZVerse, the first all-sport memecoin aiming for 30x gains, mixing sports passion, meme energy, GameFi plans, and community-led growth.

Dogecoin Rockets 11% in Fed-Driven Market Rally, What’s Next?

by admin August 24, 2025

Dogecoin saw a sharp surge toward the weekend as markets rose on optimism surrounding a potential rate cut in September.

The markets, including cryptocurrencies, rose in the aftermath of Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s much awaited speech at the annual Jackson Hole, Wyoming, symposium as traders increased their bets on the likelihood of a September rate cut after Powell said the “shifting balance of risks may warrant an adjustment of policy stance.”

Dogecoin surged from $0.208 to $0.242 on Friday, aligning with the broader market rise, which saw Ethereum hit a fresh all-time high in nearly four years.

At press time, Dogecoin was still sustaining its daily gains, up 11.17% in the last 24 hours to $0.235 and up 3% weekly. Dogecoin’s trading volume has increased 165% in the last 24 hours to $5.42 billion, as traders flock in to profit from the recent market volatility.

Dogecoin has reclaimed the eighth spot in crypto rankings, with a current market capitalization of $35.52 billion, flipping Tron (TRX) to the ninth spot.

What’s next?

Analysts are eyeing the potential of an explosive move for Dogecoin in the days ahead. In a recent tweet, Kaleo, a crypto trader, wrote, “Still believe it’s only a matter of time before Dogecoin prints a god candle. Long overdue for an explosive move. The king of memes isn’t dead.”

Ali, a crypto analyst, highlights Dogecoin consolidating in a triangle with the potential for a 40% price move.

Dogecoin has now well surpassed the daily SMA 50 at $0.218 following Friday’s major move. Going forward, the dog coin would seek to flip this level into support to aim for $0.26 and $0.29 next.

If Dogecoin exits its current range between $0.14 and $0.26, a move to $0.4 and $0.48 might be on the table.

XRP Back at $3 Following Ripple’s SEC Win, Market Eyes Next Move

by admin August 24, 2025

XRP saw a sharp surge toward the weekend as investors reacted to the latest development in the Ripple SEC lawsuit, which saw its official closure.

According to a recent update provided by James K. Filan as regards the Ripple lawsuit, the Joint Stipulation of Dismissal of appeals filed by both parties on Aug. 7 has been approved by the Second Circuit, marking the official close of the highly followed legal battle.

The week had also been remarkable for the XRP Ledger ecosystem, in particular for the Ripple USD stablecoin, RLUSD.

HYPE price eyes $50 as Hyperliquid crosses $2b milestone

Hyperliquid Grabs 80% of Perp DEX Market in One Year, Analysts Say

by admin August 23, 2025

Hyperliquid now controls roughly 80% of the decentralized perpetual futures market, highlighting its rapid dominance over competitors. However, this concentration raises concerns about sustainability and potential risks if trading volumes decline.

Summary

  • Hyperliquid has quickly become the leading decentralized perpetual futures platform, handling up to $30 billion in daily trades.
  • Its lean, self-funded team built a fast, execution-focused blockchain with fee-sharing incentives that attract traders and developers.
  • Despite rapid growth, risks like validator concentration, transparency gaps, and reliance on high trading volumes leave its future uncertain.

In just over a year, Hyperliquid has grown into the dominant player in decentralized perpetual futures, with Redstone estimating it controls about 80% of the market, trading volumes on par with big centralized exchanges, and fresh concerns over how long such concentrated activity can last.

At its peak, the platform processed as much as $30 billion in daily trades. That milestone, only a few decentralized exchanges have ever reached, despite being run by a lean team of just 11 people.

The platform, co-founded by Jeff Yan, a former Hudson River Trading quant and Harvard graduate, chose from the start to avoid venture capital, a decision that, combined with timing, gave Hyperliquid an opening it exploited faster than rivals.

Trading volume across decentralized exchanges | Source: CoinGecko

At the start of 2024, decentralized exchange dYdX had roughly 30% of trading volume across decentralized exchanges. By the end of that year, its share had fallen to around 7%, while Hyperliquid’s share stabilized above 65%, per CoinGecko’s data.

Much of Hyperliquid’s growth seems tied to execution. One-click trading, zero gas fees, and sub-second order finalization make it feel closer to a centralized exchange than most DEXs, which has helped attract both retail and professional traders.

“Built by a lean, self-funded team that refused to accept VC investors’ money, they’ve proven that technical excellence and community-first economics can outcompete well-funded competitors.”

RedStone

The platform runs on its own blockchain with HyperBFT, a consensus system designed to process hundreds of thousands of orders per second with settlement finality under a second. By focusing first on speed and reliability before expanding infrastructure, Hyperliquid appears to have earned credibility among traders faster than most peers.

Incentives and Revenue

The platform splits trading fees with its community. People who list new spot markets can keep up to half of the fees those trades generate. Developers who build user interfaces earn a share that can even exceed the protocol’s own cut. And those who launch perpetual markets share their fees with the investors who stake behind them.

This setup has pushed outside developers to build on the platform without needing grants or subsidies. They’ve already created tools to fill gaps like letting traders use one balance across different positions or borrow against their assets. The result is a growing ecosystem that competing decentralized exchanges haven’t been able to replicate.

Decentralized exchanges by trading volume | Source: DefiLlama

DefiLlama data shows Hyperliquid ranks third among decentralized exchanges by weekly trading volume, generating over $12 billion, behind only PancakeSwap and Uniswap. That surge has helped Hyperliquid produce more than $1 billion in annualized revenue, translating to an estimated $102.4 million per employee.

As previously reported by crypto.news, that figure exceeds Tether at $93 million, OnlyFans at $37.6 million, Nvidia at $3.6 million, and Cursor at $3.3 million.

Risks ahead

A joint report from OAK Research and GL Capital notes that despite Hyperliquid’s rapid growth, “several key milestones must still be met to validate [the valuation] thesis.”

“Centralization remains a concern, with only 16 validators, and the lack of transparency in the codebase could deter third-party developers. While full control over the infrastructure is a powerful model, it also exposes the platform to vulnerabilities, as demonstrated by the HLP incident.”

OAK Research and GL Capital

The platform’s reliance on sustained trading volume further amplifies risk. A prolonged bear market could temporarily depress returns and challenge the token buyback system that supports much of the HYPE ecosystem.

From a valuation perspective, analysts describe the opportunity as “asymmetric risk/reward,” with HYPE’s fair value estimated between $32 and $49 under conservative assumptions, which is about 86% of the top of that range, given that HYPE is trading at $42.

Hyperliquid has demonstrated rapid adoption, but it still faces multiple structural and market risks. Validator concentration, transparency gaps, reliance on high trading volumes, and execution-dependent growth all mean that results remain sensitive to both internal decisions and external market conditions.

Here’s Why Crypto Set the Market on Fire Yesterday

by admin August 23, 2025

Cryptocurrency markets skyrocketed into new territory Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaled that interest rate reductions could be imminent, pushing the Dow to its first 800-point plus gain this year. That ended the Dow’s longest streak without a new high since Dec. 4, 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data, and signaled a major surge of optimism at the prospect of some economic policy relief.

Cryptos were major stars of that rally.

Ethereum (ETH) climbed over 15% to reach a new all-time high of $4,885, surpassing its previous record from November 2021, while Solana (SOL) swung between 8% and 12.5% in a 24-hour period, nudging just past the longtime “psychological” mark of $200 for a high of $201.94. Bitcoin (BTC) lovers also had their moment when it climbed 2.5% to $114,700 from $112,000, clawing back some of its losses from earlier this week.

As cryptocurrencies and stocks soared, the probability of a September Fed rate cut jumped to 90% following the speech, Reuters reports.

So why all the enthusiasm?

Simply put: When the market feels more secure, it invests in places considered riskier bets. Cryptocurrencies and other fintechs that are part of emerging technology sit squarely in those crosshairs.

This time it appears institutional investors led the charge, as they look for investments that can balance out a shaky U.S. dollar, general volatility, and risk.

“It’s almost a relief rally,” Carol Schleif, chief market strategist at BMO Private Wealth, told the Wall Street Journal. “Markets had anticipated more angst.”

The optimism from the market is a sign monetary easing is a reversal of that angst, and could be a change in fortune for the sector, which has whipsawed in recent trading, said Steve Lee, co-founder and managing partner at Neoclassic Capital and investor in BlockTower Capital.

“I see this as constructive in the short term, and it may help reverse this week’s sell-off. The key question is whether this momentum holds beyond the low-liquidity weekend. Since BTC and ETH price action is increasingly institutionally driven, spot ETF flows today and Monday will be a strong indicator of whether we are set for another leg higher,” Lee told CoinDesk.

What did Powell say?

As usual, Powell got straight to the point during his Wyoming speech on Friday.

“Downside risks to employment are rising,” Powell said at the Jackson Hole Symposium. “And if those risks materialize, they can do so quickly in the form of sharply higher layoffs and rising unemployment.”

Powell also said recent policy moves from the Trump administration could affect inflation.

“With policy in restrictive territory, the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting our policy stance,” he said, adding that tariffs could push inflation higher, at least temporarily. “A reasonable base case is that the effects will be relatively short lived, a one-time shift in the price level.”

You can read Powell’s entire speech here.

So how high did we go?

In this rally’s case, a rising tide did indeed lift all boats.

The broader S&P 500 also saw strong gains, rising 1.5%, its best performance since May, and equities were a bright spot on the NASDAQ Composite, which advanced 1.9%.

But perhaps most importantly, the index used by Wall Street to gauge how frightened investors might be, the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), dipped more than 14% to its lowest level this year. The VIX is a favorite of trading pros and shows how turbulent the market feels.

Those gains across the board are an encouraging sign for both the buyside and the sellside, experts said.

“Correlations between cryptos and equities are high, and we see a market mood that will be highly sensitive to this week’s comments from the Jackson Hole meeting of monetary authorities, as well as from any reactions from fiscal authorities,” wrote Manuel Villegas, an analyst at Julius Baer, in a research note.

Which crypto continue to rise?

While nothing is a given once the opening bell rings, some analysts are already predicting which companies they think will continue to do well.

Analysts at Monarq Asset Management told CoinDesk that there’s still more room for Ethereum to grow, and that they expect to see the coin top $5,000 in near-term trade.

“We maintain our overall bullish stance. Market internals remain constructive, with few signs of overheating and, as you point out, a clear path to new all-time highs in both BTC and ETH,” Sam Gaer, chief investment officer of Monarq Asset Management’s Directional Fund, told CoinDesk.

“Our house view is that Powell’s dovish pivot has cleared the way for $5,000+ in the near term, also not the hardest call to make,” Gaer said. “Demand from treasury vehicles should increase into the fall as many of the deals announced this summer close or de-SPAC, in addition to ongoing institutional and retail inflows.”

Will Powell lower rates?

Friday’s rally was a perfect example of how sensitive global markets are to Fed policy, particularly after a long period of no rate cuts. Analysts, traders, and every other player in finance have been attempting to read Powell’s tea leaves for years with only moderate success, and even a major rally like Friday’s can’t completely fortify a very fragile market.

While no one can be entirely certain what Powell and the Fed will do next week, market watchers across the board are bullish on the move. “The Fed isn’t going to be the party-pooper,” Brian Jacobsen, chief economist at Annex Wealth Management, told the WSJ.

How much that rate cut might matter in the long run remains to be seen.

“We’re still doubtful that a September cut points to a prolonged interest rate cutting cycle. Risks to inflation are real and coming from many angles,” Lauren Goodwin, economist and chief market strategist at New York Life Investments, wrote in a Friday note.

Private DeFi is also about market efficiency

Private DeFi is also about market efficiency

by admin August 23, 2025

Disclosure: The views and opinions expressed here belong solely to the author and do not represent the views and opinions of crypto.news’ editorial.

Believe it or not, DeFi has a transparency problem. Transparency is one of the cornerstones of decentralized finance, but radical transparency also comes with unintended costs. While it may be fine for pseudonymous retail users, it creates strategic friction for capital allocators, institutional players, and protocol builders.

Summary

  • Transparency has hidden costs: In DeFi, wallet doxxing, alpha leakage, and MEV extraction turn “openness” into a disadvantage, compromising privacy, safety, and competitiveness.
  • Unfair market dynamics: Public mempools enable frontrunning and sandwiching, with bots extracting over $1.9B in MEV on Ethereum — an invisible tax on users.
  • Privacy ≠ secrecy: True privacy creates fairer markets by protecting strategies while keeping outcomes verifiable. It’s about efficiency, not opacity.
  • Zero-knowledge proofs unlock balance: ZKPs enable compliance checks, proof-of-liquidity, and private execution without exposing wallets, strategies, or counterparties.
  • The future is programmable privacy: To attract institutions, DeFi must integrate privacy-first infrastructure that balances regulation, efficiency, and confidentiality.

There is such a thing as too much transparency. Even beyond privacy concerns, DeFi’s current default to pseudonymous transactions is not the right infrastructure for many of these participants. Wallet doxxing, alpha leakage, and MEV are direct consequences of a system where your every move is public before it’s final.

DeFi needs to move towards an approach where it can carefully balance transparency with privacy that promotes market efficiency.

The hidden costs of transparent markets

On public blockchains, every transaction, strategy, and wallet can be tracked in real time. That includes large positions, fund flows, and arbitrage routes. This creates a new playing field for market participants that leads to scenarios that never existed before in the world of TradFi. One where there are new risks, many aren’t willing to assume.

The starting point for these hidden problems is wallet doxxing. Pseudonymous addresses can and have been identified and tied back to their owners. There are even platforms dedicated to rewarding users for doing so. This turns high-value addresses into permanent public ledgers of activity and compromises their anonymity, safety, and competitive strategy.

There’s also a strategic cost. The moment an institutional wallet becomes identifiable, every trade becomes a signal that the address owner might or might not want publicly broadcast. This means alpha gets copied instantly, or changes in strategic direction get leaked prematurely. On-chain strategies like arbitrage, yield farming, or liquidity routing are routinely cloned, sandwiched, and drained by bots within minutes. This creates an uncompetitive environment where firms would be leaking trade secrets into a public forum.

Worst of all: frontrunning and MEV are now normalized. Public mempools let bots reorder or sandwich trades before they settle. The Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem has seen over $1.9  billion in MEV extracted, leading many to call it an “invisible tax” paid by users simply for interacting with the system.

Privacy as market infrastructure

We need to move past binaries and realize that privacy is not about compromising transparency. Privacy is about fair market conditions, and ultimately, market efficiency. Without privacy, DeFi becomes a zero-sum game dominated by bots and extractors. With it, DeFi becomes a more viable infrastructure layer for institutions, market makers, and real economic activity.

Luckily, we have the technology to create these nuances, and we have it at the infrastructure level. The main balancing act for privacy in DeFi comes with the ability to verify outcomes without revealing inputs, which is what zero-knowledge infrastructure enables. It enables confidential price discovery, fair execution, and strategic discretion, all without sacrificing transparency.

We can have market conditions that are fair and efficient by keeping the how, what, and when transparent — all without unnecessarily exposing the who.

A privacy-first approach to DeFi infrastructure using ZKPs unlocks this balance by allowing a participant to prove something is true without revealing the underlying data. Likewise, it enables new use cases that make DeFi even more appealing. Imagine:

  • Compliance without exposure: Prove KYC status or jurisdictional eligibility without sharing personal details.
  • Proof-of-liquidity: Show solvency or capital commitments without disclosing wallets or balances.
  • Anti-front-running execution: Run private auctions or batch orders where trade intent is hidden until settlement.

Private DeFi upgrades how data flows between counterparties, and they redefine what it means to transact in the open.

Institutional adoption needs programmable privacy

Many retail users already flock to these benefits, proving that private DeFi marks the next step in crypto adoption. We’re already seeing the rise of private trading pools and confidential rollups.

Institutional newcomers will soon look for similar benefits, especially solutions that streamline compliance with a privacy-first approach. Many onchain compliance mechanisms allow parties to transact confidently while ensuring that they remain regulatorily aligned. Hybrid models are also emerging where transparency is offered where it’s needed (for auditors, regulators, or DAOs), and privacy where it’s not (for trading strategies, counterparties, and wallet activity).

The key is striking the right balance between legal compliance and user confidentiality. A privacy-first approach to DeFi infrastructure provides institutions with the right tools to achieve this and creates healthy market dynamics.

We need to stop treating privacy as a threat to legitimacy. In reality, privacy is what makes legitimacy scalable. Private DeFi means protecting alpha, enabling efficient participation, and rewarding the most effective market participants by letting the right strategies succeed in an open system. More so, they can do so while demonstrating that they operate on the right side of regulations.

If we want DeFi to be more than a speculative playground, we must give builders and institutions the tools actually to compete, and privacy is the starting point.

Little Pepe emerges as a top player in 2025 memecoin market

by admin August 22, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

Six tokens, from newcomers like Little Pepe to giants like Shiba Inu, could fuel the next wave of crypto success in 2025.

Summary

  • Memecoins have shifted from hype-driven tokens to serious contenders, with several gaining multi-billion dollar market caps.
  • Established players like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu continue to dominate, while newcomers such as Little Pepe are drawing fresh investor attention.
  • Analysts suggest six highlighted memecoins that could play a key role in creating the next wave of crypto wealth in 2025.

The memecoin market has grown beyond a joke. Once considered speculative fun, meme tokens today have multi-billion-dollar market values, global communities, and novel use cases that increase their longevity.  Dogecoin, the original memecoin, is again gaining pace in 2025, bringing attention to the sector.

A few meme currencies today have the potential to make huge wins this wave. Early investors can capitalize on exponential growth, with some titans boasting strong ecosystems and others in presale.

Little Pepe: Presale powerhouse

Leading the list is Little Pepe (LILPEPE), one of the most talked-about presale tokens of 2025. At present, LILPEPE is priced at $0.0020 in its 11th presale stage, with the next stage scheduled to lift it to $0.0021. Although these incremental increases may look small on the surface, they reflect a surge in demand: more than 13.65 billion tokens have already been sold, raising over $21.1 million across all presale stages.

LILPEPE’s communal expansion boosts confidence. Over 33,717 holders and 26,000 Telegram users are on board. More than 229,000 entries to a $777,000 giveaway campaign boost its virality. LILPEPE is Certik-audited and listed on CoinMarketCap, reassuring wary investors.

Analysts are most excited about growth. LILPEPE could offer a 100x return from presale pricing, with some projections predicting a $3 price objective within its first year if market conditions coincide. Community and hype drive early success, and Little Pepe is poised to be the memecoin of 2025.

Shiba Inu: Veteran memecoin

Without Shiba Inu, no memecoin list is complete. SHIB, trading at $0.00001298, has a $7.6 billion market cap and has created instant billionaires. Besides hype, it established a big ecosystem with Shibarium, a Layer-2 scaling solution, and DeFi and metaverse projects. SHIB relies on its dedicated community, known as the “Shib Army.”

SHIB’s micro-unit pricing allows even modest price changes to deliver significant percentage returns, despite its high value. A return to 2021 highs would more than triple values, potentially adding billions to the market cap. SHIB might reach $0.00002 in 2025 as Shibarium’s popularity and utility increase, rewarding long-term holders and new investors seeking a lower-risk entry into a meme currency.

PEPE: The frog frenzy continues

After Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, Pepe (PEPE) is one of the fastest-rising meme tokens and has risen to the top due to viral marketing, meme supremacy, and social media traction. PEPE trades around $0.00001103 with a market cap of $4.6 billion.

PEPE, younger than SHIB and DOGE, has shown it can compete in a challenging market.  Its cultural relevance, Pepe the Frog being one of the most famous memes, gives the token natural branding strength. Token prices could jump in 2025 if PEPE maintains its speed.

Pungy Penguins: NFTs to tokens

A blue-chip NFT collection became a cultural movement. With a $1.95 billion market cap, Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) tokens trade at $0.03324. Partnerships, toys, and licensing agreements have helped Pudgy Penguins break into mainstream society, unlike many viral currencies.

PENGU is one of the most unusual meme currencies due to its crossover appeal. Investors are buying a cultural franchise with genuine worth, not just a symbol. This makes PENGU more resilient than speculation-based projects. PENGU might surpass $0.05 in 2025 if the brand grows and mainstream alliances extend, benefiting investors. In the meme betting area, NFT recognition and token momentum make it a secure bet.

Bonk: The Solana meme king

In Solana, Bonk (BONK) is the dominating meme token. BONK’s incorporation with Solana projects, wallets, and decentralized apps boosts its market cap to $1.88 billion. A major airdrop to the Solana community generated a large holding base.

Since then, BONK has been popular for payments and community initiatives. BONK’s brand power has made it synonymous with Solana’s meme culture. BONK might reach $0.00004 in 2025 if Solana maintains its price trend, substantially tripling its value and cementing its meme flagship status.

Fartcoin: Oddly popular comedy token

Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) stunned the market by gaining popularity despite its silly moniker. Currently trading at $0.943, with a market valuation of approximately $943 million, FARTCOIN illustrates that memecoins may expand through humor.

FARTCOIN’s unashamed ridiculousness sets it apart. Members have rallied around its branding, and aggressive social media marketing has produced viral momentum. FARTCOIN might reach $1.20 in 2025 if the community keeps pushing and mainstream crypto media covers it. Despite being riskier than known tokens, its upside is startling.

Conclusion

In 2025, early prospects like Little Pepe and established giants like Shiba Inu and Pepe, offer huge potential. However, timing is key. These memecoins could dominate conversations, markets, and portfolios as Dogecoin’s revival highlights the industry. Memecoins may redefine fortunes again in 2025 for risk-taking investors.

Bitcoin Bull Market Hinges On $13.8 Billion Options Expiry

by admin August 21, 2025

Key takeaways:

  • Bitcoin bears hold strong incentives below $114,000, likely intensifying pressure ahead of the options expiry.

  • AI-sector spending concerns add turbulence and weigh on investors’ broader risk appetite.

A total of $13.8 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) options are set to expire on Aug. 29, a moment many traders believe could determine whether the recent 9.7% correction marks the end of Bitcoin’s bull run or just a temporary pause. The drop to $112,100 on Thursday pushed Bitcoin to its lowest point in six weeks, intensifying bearish momentum ahead of the monthly options expiry.

Bullish Bitcoin strategies ill prepared for prices below $114,000

The $7.44 billion in open interest for call (buy) options stands 17% higher than the $6.37 billion in put (sell) contracts. Still, the actual outcome hinges on Bitcoin’s price at 8:00 am UTC on Aug. 29. Deribit dominates the market with an 85% share, followed by CME at 7% and OKX with 3%.

Bulls may have been overly confident, with some wagers set at $125,000 or higher. That optimism quickly eroded after Bitcoin’s decline, shifting momentum toward put instruments. Regardless of the rationale behind the recent BTC price correction, traders who opted for bullish strategies will likely come out disappointed.

Only 12% of call options were placed at $115,000 or below, leaving most out-of-the-money at current levels. By contrast, 21% of puts are positioned at $115,000 or higher, with significant clusters at $112,000. Thus, it is only natural to expect bears to continue negatively pressuring Bitcoin’s price ahead of the monthly expiry.

It might be too early to declare bullish options strategies entirely lost. Traders are awaiting comments from US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Friday, as any suggestion of increased odds of rate cuts could support asset prices. Hotter-than-expected US jobless claims data on Thursday added to that anticipation, keeping macroeconomic uncertainty high.

US Federal Reserve and tech stocks could dictate Bitcoin’s outcome

Below are five probable scenarios at Deribit based on current price trends. These outcomes estimate theoretical profits based on open interest imbalances but exclude complex strategies, such as selling put options to gain upside price exposure.

  • Between $105,000 and $110,000: $210 million in calls (buy) vs. $2.66 billion in puts (sell). The net result favors the put instruments by $2.45 billion.

  • Between $110,100 and $114,000: $420 million calls vs. $1.94 billion puts, favoring puts by $1.5 billion.

  • Between $114,100 and $116,000: $795 million calls vs. $1.15 billion puts, favoring puts by $360 million.

  • Between $116,100 and $118,000: $1.3 billion calls vs. $830 million puts, favoring calls by $460 million.

  • Between $118,100 and $120,000: $1.7 billion calls vs. $560 million puts, favoring calls by $1.1 billion.

For bullish strategies to gain traction, Bitcoin would need to trade above $116,000 by Aug. 29. Yet, the most critical battle lies at $114,000, where bears are most motivated to push prices lower.

Ultimately, Bitcoin’s fate in the $13.8 billion monthly options expiry will be decided by broader macroeconomic trends, including investors’ discomfort with the artificial intelligence sector. Concerns deepened after Morgan Stanley warned that soaring spending could limit major tech firms’ ability to fund share buybacks, amplifying caution in equity markets.

Hyperliquid Takes 80% of DeFi Perps Market, Hits $30B Daily Volume

by admin August 21, 2025

Hyperliquid has become the star of decentralized finance by taking more than 80% of the perpetuals market and handling over $30 billion in trades every single day, according to a new report from RedStone

This rise happened in only one year, which is very fast for any crypto platform. RedStone, notes Hyperliquid is now competing with some of the largest centralized exchanges because of its speed, its design, and the way it helps builders.

One of the main reasons for this growth is Hyperliquid’s order book. Most decentralized platforms struggle to keep up with centralized exchanges, but Hyperliquid’s order book runs fully on-chain and still gives the same speed and fair pricing.

Another reason is due to HIP-3, which is described as Hyperliquid’s permissionless market creation system. This system allows anyone to create new markets without any requirement from a third party.

HIP-3 also shares revenue with developers, and in many cases, these developers earn even more than the protocol itself. RedStone explained that this has encouraged many builders to join, which has turned Hyperliquid into one of the most creative and active communities in decentralized finance.

Hyperliquid also uses a special design made up of HyperCore and HyperEVM. This setup lets users try new financial ideas, such as tokenized perpetual positions and strategies that balance risk. It also gives tools for better liquidity, which is very important for smooth trading.

“Hyperliquid is setting a new standard,” the RedStone report said. It added that the platform’s design and community-driven approach are opening “unprecedented opportunities for builders and institutions alike.”

Meanwhile, there are numbers to back this up. According to data from DefiLlama, Hyperliquid has more than $2.2 billion locked on its network. In addition to that, it has processed $330 billion in total trading volume in the past 30 days.

What makes this story even more unusual is that Hyperliquid is not backed by large venture capital firms. Instead, it is run by a lean, self-funded team.
