Etsy co-founder’s new startup is making what really looks like a mixed reality magnifying glass

by admin June 5, 2025

Virtual and augmented reality are still pretty new frontiers with a lot of potentially cool ideas yet to be developed. The latest product in the mixed reality space could be coming from a startup called Dopple Works. Lowpass reported that the secrecy-shrouded business from Etsy co-founder and former CEO Robert Kalin is working on a new device called Loop.

Dopple Works has submitted an application to the Federal Communications Commission. Many of the details are not publicly available, but that filing indicates that Loop is battery-powered and will use both WiFi and Bluetooth networks. Lowpass also unearthed a patent application that dubs Loop a “dedicated hand-held spatial computing device.” The application comes with images that show a camera, speaker and tracking sensor that could capture details on an environment, along with a screen for viewing the mixed reality content.

At this stage, there’s not enough information available to speculate on what Loop’s purpose will be. But the photos from the government filings do spark some entertaining mental images of a future where people wandering about doing their best Sherlock Holmes imitations with mixed reality magnifying glasses.

Apple is reportedly creating its own Steam-like game launcher, but it’s still missing the key to making gaming on Mac great

by admin June 1, 2025

Apple’s 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC,is just a couple weeks away. Like every year previous, it sounds like Apple is going to squeeze gaming into its software announcements.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to unveil a “dedicated gaming app” that “will serve as a launcher for titles and centralize in-game achievements, leaderboards, communications and other activity.”

That sounds a lot like Steam, only this app will feature games from the App Store and, of course, the Apple Arcade subscription service. However, Gurman also mentioned that the Mac version “can tap into games downloaded outside of the App Store,” so maybe it will connect to your Steam or Epic Games library somehow.

You may like

Apple also recently purchased RAC7, the studio behind Sneaky Sasquatch, which might hint that they’re planning to do some in-house game development.

The past few years have also seen a handful of prominent games get ported to Apple’s platforms, like Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Resident Evil 4, and Netflix Gaming has made some admirable progress bringing over indie games like Hades and Death’s Door.

While all of that is a step in the right direction, most gamers are still opting for a Windows PC or a console to play anything beyond mobile games. A new game launcher for Apple devices will probably make it more convenient finding and managing games on your Mac or iPhone, but it doesn’t address the underlying issue of game compatibility.

Unfortunately for Apple, right now gaming on Linux is a better experience than gaming on Mac, which is really saying something. One has to wonder why Apple doesn’t take a page from Valve’s book and develop a compatibility layer for macOS like Valve’s Proton platform, which has brought hundreds of Windows games to Linux.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

A compatibility layer would reduce the hassle for developers to bring their games to Apple devices, or at least to macOS, and create a path to quickly grow the player base on macOS.

Right now, Apple has to work against the Catch-22 of no players vs no game developers: game devs aren’t creating games for Mac because gamers are overwhelmingly playing on Windows, and that won’t change until there are more games on Mac.

Ironically, MacBooks have gotten a lot better for gaming since Apple launched its M-series chips. The issue is that there aren’t very many games compatible with macOS to really take advantage of that hardware.

Some sort of Proton-like compatibility layer, which could be built into Apple’s new launcher, seems like the perfect way to bridge that gap and show how good gaming on macOS can be, potentially leading more devs to offer native Mac support.

Can XRP fall back to $2.20? Ripple foundation making moves

by admin June 1, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

XRP could hit $11 in coming years as Unilabs gains traction with a $0.051 token and a revenue-sharing model.

Egrag Crypto has issued a highly positive XRP price prediction. The crypto trader says that Ripple’s Foundation token could hit $11 in the next few years. This outlook is fueled by growing hopes for a spot ETF.

While big players eye XRP, retail investors are shifting to Unilabs for quicker, steadier gains. The fund’s token, UNIL, is priced at just $0.051 and is gaining attention fast. What sets it apart is its revenue-sharing model.

Unilabs gives 30% of its earnings back to token holders through dividends. This rewards early buyers and builds long-term value as the fund grows.

XRP price prediction: Can Ripple Foundation hold $2.27 as regulatory uncertainty settles in?

Ripple’s XRP is testing key support near $2.27 after falling from $2.65. This drop has weakened short-term bullish sentiment for XRP’s price prediction. If the token breaks below this level, losses could extend toward $2.07 or even April’s low at $1.61. The 100-day EMA is also under pressure, adding to the risk.

Alongside price struggles, Ripple Foundation faces regulatory uncertainty. On June 5, the SEC will host a major digital assets conference. Ripple Foundation has already sent a letter urging the SEC to modernize outdated crypto laws, especially for secondary market transactions.

The company wants clear rules for developers and investors, especially in a project’s early stages. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce has raised the key issue: when does a digital asset stop being an investment contract?

Until the SEC offers real answers – rather than just enforcement – markets will likely stay cautious. Ripple Foundation may need regulatory clarity and stronger momentum to create a better XRP price prediction.

Technical outlook: A cliffhanger for XRP’s price prediction

Ripple Foundation’s token is on edge. The MACD flashed a bearish crossover on May 20, and the RSI has dropped below 50, signaling increased selling pressure. The chart shows a bear flag forming, hinting at a possible 55% fall to $1.00 if support gives way. Still, the SuperTrend holds at $2.17, acting as a key support zone.

Zooming out, the longer-term view offers hope. A falling wedge is close to completion. If XRP’s price prediction breaks above $2.42 and clears the wedge, it could target $3.40. The RSI rising from 31 to 47 shows that buyers are slowly coming back.

XRP is at a critical point. Bulls need to defend key levels to avoid a breakdown. A move higher could shift momentum fast.

ETF buzz adds fire to Ripple Foundation’s bullish outlook

The biggest wildcard for XRP’s price prediction right now is a spot ETF. The SEC has started reviewing WisdomTree’s XRP Trust, kicking off a 240-day window with 21 days for public comment.

This news sparked major excitement in the XRP community. On Polymarket, approval odds jumped to 84%, up from 63% last month. Bloomberg analysts put the chances at 85%.

A green light could bring in waves of institutional cash. XRP might break past $3 quickly, with $8 in sight for 2025. Some even see $50 down the line if giants like BlackRock jump in and invest in Ripple Foundation.

Unilabs reshapes the $500 billion asset management market

Unilabs is changing how asset management works. It cuts out human mistakes and uses smart AI instead. At the core is EASS, an algorithm that checks new crypto projects using clear performance and risk data. It doesn’t just look for growth – it also avoids weak assets, making investing safer and smarter.

This AI also powers the Unilabs Launchpad. It scans tons of new projects and highlights the best ones with strong potential. That gives investors early access to high-quality opportunities they might otherwise miss. The goal is simple: trust, speed, and long-term value.

Unilabs now manages over $30 million. It spreads funds across four areas – AI, Bitcoin, RWAs, and mining – so investors can pick what suits them best.

To make trading easier, Unilabs built the Cross-Chain Trading Hub. It connects multiple blockchains without risky bridges. This means faster, safer trades. With its smart tools and clear structure, Unilabs helps users find, back, and grow the best DeFi projects with confidence.

11.07 Billion Dogecoin in 24 Hours, Futures Traders Not Making Difference

by admin June 1, 2025

As the combined crypto market continues to slide, Dogecoin (DOGE) traders have generally made a move to stir revival in the coin’s price. CoinGlass data shows a massive slip in the open interest market for the top meme coin. As of writing, this metric is down by 12.57% in the past 24 hours. This shift is a sign that the broader ecosystem is in serious distress.

Dogecoin leveraged traders stunned

Open interest is the total number of outstanding positions in a derivatives market. For Dogecoin, traders have committed 11.07 billion DOGE, which is valued at $2.09 billion.

You Might Also Like

Despite the general shift, Dogecoin’s open interest has shifted in the past few hours. Per the CoinGlass data, this metric has jumped by over 2% in the past hour, and over the trailing four-hour period, it has inked a 0.9% uptick.

Dogecoin open interest is an active tool that measures the health of the meme coin. For now, it reflects an extended drawdown in the altcoin price. According to data from CoinMarketCap, Dogecoin was changing hands for $0.1932, down by 5.13% in the past 24 hours.

The DOGE sell-off is encompassing, considering that other altcoins, including XRP, have suffered a 181% liquidation imbalance in the past 24 hours.

Dogecoin growth triggers unleashed

DOGE is not the only distressed digital currency in the market. Other meme coins like Shiba Inu and PEPE have also lost significant value within the same period.

You Might Also Like

However, the push for Dogecoin ETF is changing the general outlook for digital currencies. While not approved yet, the number of filings to list and trade DOGE ETF is growing, with firms like Canary Capital and Grayscale Investments leading the charge.

If approved, this will become one of the top altcoin ETF products available to U.S. institutional investors. Notably, while this product may not impact Dogecoin’s price in the short term, it may drive its rally in the long term.

Oblivion Remastered just got a full Skyrim-style smithing system thanks to a modder, in case you’ve missed making stuff by getting very good at banging hot things

by admin May 31, 2025

Right, so. Oblivion Remastered modders continue to find ways to pull off really cool stuff despite not having any official tools. The latest interesting new mod to drop adds a whole Skyrim-style smithing system and skill to the game, and it’s by someone who’d already blown us away with their faction overhauls.

Yep, modder ColdTyrant’s back at it again, clearly not having been content with all of the interesting Oblivion Remastered modding efforts we recently chatted to them about. During that convo, they teased “a secret project” they thought everyone would dig – I’m not sure if this is that, but it’d certainly qualify in my book.

To see this content please enable targeting cookies.

Manage cookie settings

Their latest work is ‘Skill Line – Smithing’, and as you’d expect from the name, it adds the ability to make gear at a forge to Oblivion as a totally separate thing to the established armourer skill that revolves around bashing your sword with a hammer to stop it breaking.

You’ll find new interactable forges – each made up of a “smithing chest” where you store any materials you want to use for crafting, plus an anvil and leather rack you can then interact with to turn that stored stuff into new gear or the usual processed animal bits you’ll need to forge certain stuff. There’s also an “equipment smelter” you can use to melt down existing unenchanted gear into raw materials for crafting – though in a wonderful lore-based twist, you can’t melt down Imperial Legion armour without a special permit.

The mod adds one of these forging stations to each of Cyrodiil’s major cities – you can find their exact locations by looking through the mod page’s images – as well as the Shivering Isles. In order to find out which materials are required to craft certain weapons and armour, you’ll need to consult a special smithing workbook ColdTyrant’s left a free copy of atop every anvil he’s added.

That said, you’ll also have to make sure your character’s got the smithing skills to craft what they want to, with the mod adding in a book you can use to track how good you’re getting as you craft more and more stuff. “Because it is currently impossible to integrate brand new skills into the User Interface properly,” ColdTyrant explains, “once the mod is initialized the player will be given a book in their Miscellaneous inventory category, which they can use to check not only their current Smithing level, but the percent progress toward their next level.”

As you’d expect, the further towards the level 100 cap this new skill has you get, the more stuff you’ll need to craft to keep increasing your smithing level. Oh, and if you fancy, the Shivering Isles forges will let you make Dark Seducer and Golden Saint gear, because why not?

If you fancy giving the mod a go, as with most of ColdTyrant’s other mods you’ll need to grab Oblivion Remastered’s UE4SS and UE4SS TesSyncMapInjector.

Make sure to check out all the interviews we’ve been doing with Oblivion Remastered modders who’ve been pushing the boundaries and working on interesting stuff, including that aforementioned chat with ColdTyrant.

Overwatch 2 is making it easier to counter aerial heroes, but there’s a catch

by admin May 30, 2025

Overwatch 2 players will soon have a way to make dealing with airborne heroes way easier, but just not in the way they may have liked.

Ever since the original Overwatch, players have had extreme difficulty countering heroes with aerial-based kits such as Pharah, Mercy, and Echo.

For years, players on the ranked ladder, especially on console, would dominate the competition by running Pharah and Mercy together, completely disseminating opponents with damage-boosted rockets.

The game’s latest hero, Freja, while not as aerial-focused as some others, is still a major threat as her kit makes use of an ability called Updraft which launches her forward.

Well, the devs are finally adding a new way to deal with heroes like Freja. There’s just one problem.

Overwatch takes action against aerial heroes… in Stadium

In a May 30 blog post, the devs referenced Freja’s dominance since her debut and how they smacked her with a hotfix nerf the day prior by increasing her mobility cooldowns.

“Our team is paying close attention to how Heroes are performing within Stadium and planning measured changes to make a more even playing field. Our newest addition, Freja, made quite an entrance,” the developers admitted.

Blizzard

“We understand she can be frustrating to play against, so a new anti-air Item will be added in Season 17,” they confirmed.

The addition of an anti-air item is something that could have benefitted the base game years ago, but was never implemented.

Throughout Season 16, the devs have made frequent changes to Stadium through a series of patches, showing just how important the mode is to OW2 at the moment and this new item is just the latest example.

It’s not clear yet exactly what the new item will do, but it is clear the devs don’t want certain heroes to be a major problem in Stadium and dominate the meta, especially considering that mode doesn’t have hero bans.

Get A 3D Printer Capable Of Making 7-Inch Resin Figures For Only $160 At Amazon

Get A 3D Printer Capable Of Making 7-Inch Resin Figures For Only $160 At Amazon

by admin May 30, 2025

If you’re curious about 3D printers but don’t want to spend upwards of $1,000 (or more) for a fancy name-brand model, Amazon has a few enticing offers for Prime members to check out. For a limited time, members can get an entry-level 3D printer for as low as $160. For those who simply want to dabble with the hobby by printing small monochrome figures and accessories, the deals below are worth considering.

$160 (was $250) | Get free bottle of resin

Amazon’s best deal right now is for the Anycubic Photon Mono 4. This Prime-exclusive deal lets you snag a 3D printer capable of creating 6-inch resin models for $160, which is the lowest price offered since the Photon Mono 4 launched last fall. This particular model originally sold for $300 before the MSRP dropped to $250, but it was selling for $240 just a few days ago.

For a limited time, you’ll get a free bottle of Anycubic 3D Printer Resin ($15 value) with your purchase, too. You’ll need to click the “Benefit Items” option to see the resin. If you have trouble finding it, you can just navigate directly to the freebie and add it to your cart. Your resin designs can be printed at up 10K resolution (9024 x 5120), and Anycubic says its four-point leveling system makes it easy for newcomers to start printing without an elaborate setup process.

If you look at Amazon’s promotion page, you might notice that there are two different versions of the Anycubic Photon Mono 4. Both listings are discounted to $160 for Prime members and boast identical printing capabilities and internal tech. Needless to say, the situation is a bit confusing. The only tangible differences we found between the listings pertain to the dimensions and weight. One of the listings says the Photon Mono 4 has a 20-inch diameter and weighs 5.1kg (11.2lbs), while the other says the diameter is 10 inches and it weighs 3.5kg (7.7lbs).

Those listed differences between the two listings could be true, but it’s also possible the store page was uploaded a second time due to an error. The 10-inch diameter looks and sounds more accurate, since the Photon Mono 4’s maximum total volume for each print is 6.04 x 3.42 x 6.49 inches.

If you want to stock up on resin, Prime members can also score a big discount on a four-pack of Anycubic resin. The four-pack is $54 (was $77) with Amazon’s deal, but if you sign up for Subscribe & Save, you’ll pay $48.59. Amazon lets you cancel subscriptions at any time without penalty.

Best Budget 3D Printer Deals at Amazon

Anycubic Photon Mono 4 and Elegoo Mars 5

Amazon also has a couple of nice deals on Elegoo 3D printers with a few additional bells and whistles–and these also include a free bottle of resin. Be sure to add the freebie to your cart before finalizing your purchase. The most premium printer of the bunch is the Mars 5 Ultra at $285 (was $350), which works faster than most of the other models and features auto-leveling technology to make setup easier than ever. It boasts a 9K resolution, so it’s capable of creating fairly elaborate patterns with resin.

Prime members will also find the last-gen version of Elegoo’s premium 3D printer, the Mars 4 Ultra, on sale for $240 (was $300), and since it offers the same 9K resolution as the Mars 5 Ultra, it’s worth considering if you don’t mind sacrificing a few quality-of-life improvements such as auto-leveling tech.

Bitcoin’s Current Trend Echoing Past Cycle Moves After Making History – Here’s How

by admin May 24, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

In a historic moment for the broader crypto market, Bitcoin has set a new landmark in its price dynamics by hitting a fresh all-time high after a remarkable performance in the past few days. This notable movement is believed to be aligning with the last bull cycle moves, reflecting the current trend’s strength.

Familiar Trend Observed In Bitcoin’s Upswing

Bitcoin’s ongoing upward trend does not seem like it’s coming to an end anytime soon. A recent report from Alphractal, an advanced on-chain data and investment platform, shows that the flagship asset has broken its all-time high for the third time in this cycle, reflecting the robust strength of the ongoing rally.

According to the analytics platform, this recurring milestone has prompted fresh comparisons to the previous market cycle, in which similar breakout sequences signaled the beginning of further parabolic movements. With BTC charting a course that mirrors past bull cycle runs, it increases the possibility that the ongoing uptrend might be far from over.

Data from the Bitcoin ROI Per Cycle, a key metric that measures BTC’s overall performance each cycle, reveals that the asset has increased sharply by over 600% since its low in November 2022. However, this notable growth is still significantly behind compared to past bull market runs that preceded rallies in the thousands range.

BTC’s cycle performances over time | Source: Alphractal on X

In the previous cycle, particularly between 2019 and 2021, BTC recorded more than 2,000% growth, whereas in the 2015- 2017 bull market cycle, the asset experienced an 8,500% rally all the way to the top.

Looking at the chart, each cycle seems to have performed less than the previous ones. The trend suggests that even though Bitcoin’s rally has not finished yet, it is likely to record gains lower than the last cycle.

In addition to the deteriorating performance, Alphractal highlighted that the flagship asset has never before reached a new all-time high after several months of separation throughout a single bull cycle. This marks a noticeable shift in its dynamics as the market grows more complex and necessitates the use of robust metrics and intelligent data to comprehend and predict new developments.

No Sign Of Profit-Taking In The Current Surge

While BTC has risen sharply to new all-time highs, selling pressure has greatly reduced as investors choose to hold on to their coins, capitalizing on the ongoing rally. Glassnode, a leading on-chain analytics platform, reported a massive drop in profit-taking amid strong spikes, reflecting growing conviction in the asset’s short-term prospects and a continued uptrend.

After hitting a new all-time high, the total profit-taking volume dropped to approximately $1 billion. Interestingly, this volume is less than half the amount realized when BTC initially reached $100,000 last December, which was $2.1 billion. Glassnode noted that the profit realization was much more subdued despite a higher price.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Update Is Making Some Big Changes

by admin May 23, 2025

Marvel Rivals’ next big seasonal update is nearly here, and with it, some major balance changes are coming as well as a new map. And for fans of evil robots, the upcoming 2.5 season will add Ultron to the free-to-play shooter’s ever-growing roster.

The Top 10 Most-Played Games On Steam Deck: June 2023 Edition

Quickly after it launched late last year, Marvel Rivals became a massive hit across console and PC. (Not a big enough hit to avoid layoffs, though.) And since launch, developers NetEase have consistently been updating the game via free seasonal updates that often add new maps and characters, and change the meta in a big way with nerfs, buffs, and team-up changes. And season 2.5 might be the game’s biggest shake-up yet. I’ve got good news for Punisher mains and bad news for Captain America lovers.

On May 22, NetEase posted a new video featuring the developers of Rivals talking about the upcoming season 2.5 patch. The new update is set to arrive on May 30 across all platforms. First, the news you’ll likely care about most if you regularly play Rivals: Who is getting nerfed and buffed?

All the buffs and nerfs in Rivals season 2.5

Both Groot and Captain America’s survivability will be getting toned down a bit in season 2.5. Meanwhile, Emma Frost’s “Diamond Form” will be getting nerfed, too. All members of the Fantastic Four and Namor are getting a nerf to their team-up abilities. Separately, Human Torch is getting a nerf alongside Iron Fist and Psylocke.

Meanwhile, Punisher (yes!), Squirrel Girl, and Storm are getting “modest” buffs. Hopefully, that means Punisher’s rifle will actually kill people and not harmlessly bounce off most heroes like a peashooter. Doctor Strange and Magneto are also getting similar “modest” buffs.

A bunch of team-up changes are happening in 2.5, including the removal of some popular ones. Goodbye to Iron Man and Hulk’s gamma team-up. Other team-ups being retired: Luna Snow and Jeff, Hawkeye and Black Widow, Punisher and Rocket, and also Venom and Peni. But a ton of new team-ups are coming, including ones for Iron Man and Ultron, Black Widow and Punisher, and Luna Snow and Hawkeye. The wildest new team-up is between Storm and Jeff. You’ll be able to create sharknados when combining their ultimate abilities.

2.5 is also adding a new map, which seems neat, and Ultron, who will be the game’s first new strategist since Invisible Woman was added back in update season 1. He seems to be a healer who will be able to deal out a ton of damage in addition to delivering a lot of healing. Interestingly, NetEase is also planning to add a full-on new mode to Rivals. You’ll be able to play an autochess-like game inside Marvel Rivals in 2.5 and will command your minions as Ultron. Weird!

Lastly, a reminder that moving forward and starting in season 3, seasons will only be two months long instead of three, and there won’t be any more .5 mid-season refreshes. Marvel Rivals will also get a new hero every month once this new schedule is in place. That sounds hard to balance to me, but hey, who doesn’t like new toys?

A Zotac custom PC case at Computex 2025 that's very hard to describe

Zotac’s trippy, fractal-like PC case has been making me think about life, the universe, and the meaning of PC gaming

by admin May 20, 2025

What does it mean to be a PC gamer? What place do we hold in the universe, those of us that spend so much time in realities that are not our own? Oh, sorry. I’ve been staring too long into the infinite void of Zotac’s custom PC case, and I believe it may be expanding the borders of my consciousness at an alarming rate.

Either that, or my coffee this morning wasn’t entirely regular. Anyway, the custom case stands in Zotac’s booth at Computex 2025, drawing in unwary tech journalists like moths to a flame. There I was looking at some perfectly respectable graphics cards, and then boom, my third eye was irreparably squeegee-d. I can now taste colours, and my playlist is full of The Grateful Dead.

Dragging myself back to reality for a second, most of the internals of this particular build are hidden in the bottom of that mirrored, seemingly-ever-repeating frame, and they’re pretty beefy. A Zotac Gaming RTX 5080 AMP Extreme Infinity takes center stage (or should that be, infinite stages), while an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K handles the processing duties.

64 GB of DDR5-6000 and 4 TB of Corsair MP600 Elite Gen 4 NVMe storage rounds out the package. Oh, and it’s water-cooled, which shouldn’t be surprising and yet somehow is.

Surely this PC should cool itself by transferring its heat into the great beyond? I half expect it to have disappeared when I return to the halls tomorrow, a small black hole left standing in its place.

“What happened to the custom fractal PC case?”, I shall ask. “Nobody knows”, I expect will be the reply.

“We never brought it with us in the first place.”
