DoubleZero Mainnet Goes Live With 22% of Staked SOL on Board

by admin October 2, 2025

A new project wants to give blockchains their own “fast lane” on the internet. The DoubleZero Foundation announced Thursday that its highly anticipated mainnet-beta is live.

DoubleZero is a network built to speed up how blockchain validators talk to each other. Instead of relying on the public internet, which can sometimes be slow and unpredictable, Solana validators can now connect through DoubleZero’s fiber routes, which let users transact faster.

In simple terms, DoubleZero is like a private highway system for blockchains. While normal internet routes are designed to be cheap and broad, they aren’t built for the split-second coordination thousands of blockchain nodes need. DoubleZero says its network reduces lag and makes it easier for validators to process transactions and stay in sync, which could improve both performance and reliability for end users.

“Blockchains and other globally distributed systems rely on thousands of nodes coordinating in real time. The efficiency of their communication layer directly impacts security, validator profitability and the end-user experience,” said Austin Federa, the co-founder of DoubleZero, in a press release shared with CoinDesk.

The project has already seen early adoption. Currently, 22% of staked SOL is plugged into the DoubleZero network. Big industry names like Jump Crypto, Galaxy, RockawayX, and Jito are contributing fiber links and engineering resources, betting that faster internet infrastructure will pay off as blockchain applications scale.

In March, DoubleZero raised $28 million and at $400 million in valuation, with Dragonfly and Multicoin Capital leading the initial funding round.

Fueling the system is DoubleZero’s own token, called 2Z, built on Solana. Validators and stakers use the token to access the network’s high-speed routes, with rewards tied to how much utility they provide.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued a no-action letter to DoubleZero, letting them move forward with the launch of the network’s native tokens.

While today’s launch focuses on Solana, DoubleZero’s ambitions go further. “As part of its roadmap, DoubleZero aims to expand the chain-agnostic network to support additional blockchains and high-performance distributed systems,” the team wrote in their press release.

R2 Protocol’s X account suspended after mainnet launch

by admin September 28, 2025

X has suspended the account of R2 Protocol, a decentralized yield platform for real-world assets, just after the platform’s mainnet launch.

Summary

  • R2 Protocol launched its mainnet on Ethereum on September 26, 2025.
  • The project’s X account looks to have been suspended.

The R2 Protocol launched its mainnet on Ethereum, going live on Sept. 26 as the onchain yield platform looked to democratize access to real-world yield. The project unveiled a tokenized U.S. Treasuries and private credit-backed vault and saw immediate complaints from users regarding deposits of USDC to access rewards on the mainnet.

A look at the project’s X account @r2yield shows it has been suspended. X says it suspends accounts that violate its rules.

What is R2 Protocol?

R2 offers R2USD, a stablecoin that allows holders to access off-chain yield sources across the decentralized finance market. Token holders also get exposure to staking derivatives and a reward system that means one’s stablecoin holdings are not just an idle store of value but a yield-generating asset.

As crypto.news highlighted earlier, the R2 team had seen the protocol’s total value locked rise to a significant amount just after launch. The rewards offer for early users attracted more than 154,000 participants. Likely a mass reporting of the project’s X account led to this suspension.

X revealed a bribery network

R2 Protocol’s mainnet launch and X account suspension comes just days after X, the social media platform owned by billionaire and Tesla chief Elon Musk, disclosed an investigation against a bribery network involving platforms perpetuating crypto scams.

Notably, X said its employees have been approached by a network of individuals seeking to have suspended accounts reinstated.

“X has exposed and is taking strong action against a bribery network targeting our platform. Suspended accounts involved in crypto scams and platform manipulation paid middlemen to attempt to bribe employees to reinstate their suspended accounts,” the social media platform noted.

The suspension of R2’s account may not be related to this. However, it will raise questions as the community looks to what happens next.

Synthetix to launch first perps DEX on Ethereum mainnet

by admin September 23, 2025

Synthetix is set to launch the first perpetual decentralized exchange on Ethereum mainnet in Q4 2025, kicking off with a $1 million trading competition.

Summary

  • Synthetix to launch first perpetual DEX on Ethereum mainnet in Q4 2025.
  • Traders can use sUSDe, wstETH, and cbBTC as multi-collateral margin.
  • Launch begins with a $1M trading competition starting in October.

Synthetix is preparing to launch the first perpetuals exchange on Ethereum mainnet, starting with a trading competition that offers a $1 million prize.

On Sept. 22, 2025, Synthetix Network (SNX) announced plans for its competition and upcoming perpertual DEX, which will feature gasless trading, zero settlement costs, and multi-collateral margin.

Traders will be able to use assets like Ethena’s sUSDe, Lido’s wstETH, and Coinbase’s cbBTC as margin to produce yield while trading. This model makes use of Ethereum’s (ETH) extensive liquidity, which presently totals more than $90 billion across its liquidity, staking, and lending pools.

Multi-collateral margin and strategies

The mainnet launch introduces multi-collateral margin, letting traders post portfolios of assets, including yield-bearing collateral, without selling them. This enables users to earn funding or staking yields, keep exposure to ETH or BTC, and avoid triggering taxable events when opening perp positions.

Synthetix expects that this design will increase the efficiency and profitability of arbitrage strategies such as basis trading. For example, traders can deposit wstETH, short ETH perps in equal size, and benefit from staking rewards and positive funding payments.

By enabling these setups directly on Ethereum, Synthetix removes the need for bridging and expands composability with decentralized finance protocols like Aave.

Synthetix trading competition details

Starting in October, Synthetix will hold a one-month trading competition prior to launch, with 100 traders chosen from among Kwenta point holders, top users, and pre-depositors.

Using seeded margin capital, competitors will compete in well-known markets like BTC, ETH, SOL, and DOGE. The winner will receive $1 million, along with additional rewards in SNX tokens and special benefits for other top performers.

In addition to strengthening infrastructure and improving integrations with market makers and liquidity providers, the event aims to stress-test the exchange under real-world market conditions. Reward distribution will take place directly onchain, and winners will be revealed in November.

Synthetix hopes that this launch will position the Ethereum mainnet as a hub for high-performance perpetual trading that blends decentralized security and deep liquidity.

Plasma to Launch Stablecoin-Native Neobank After This Month’s ‘Mainnet Beta’

by admin September 22, 2025

In brief

  • Plasma One will allow users to load the card with stablecoins and pay from their balance with a physical or virtual card.
  • The new neobank is set to roll out after Plasma’s stablecoin-optimized layer-1 blockchain hits “mainnet beta” on September 25.
  • Its card promises to offer 4% cashback on spending, over 10% yield on stablecoin balances, and coverage in more than 150 countries.

Plasma is preparing to launch its own neobank, Plasma One, sometime after its stablecoin blockchain hits mainnet later this month. Its card claims it will offer 4% cash back on spending, an over 10% yield on balances, and international coverage.

Users of Plasma One will be able to load their card with the stablecoins of their choice—starting with USDT and slowly expanding—and then pay directly from this balance via the physical or virtual card. The prepaid credit card is set to use the Plasma blockchain as its payment rails and will be issued by Rain—the company behind the Avalanche Card and others.

“Stablecoins provide a fundamental, permissionless way to hold and move dollars anywhere,” Paul Faecks, CEO of Plasma, said in a release shared with Decrypt. “Plasma One is our answer to the distribution problem, as it puts us directly in the hands of people who face financial exclusion, delivering permissionless access to saving, spending, earning, and sending digital dollars.”

Last week, it was announced that the stablecoin-centric blockchain will hit “mainnet beta” on September 25. Afterwards, Plasma will prepare to roll out its neobank in multiple stages. Users can now sign up for the waitlist on the Plasma website.

What is Plasma?

Plasma is a stablecoin project primarily known for building a layer-1 blockchain with optimizations tailor-made for stablecoin users. It caused a stir earlier this year by attracting $1 billion in pre-deposits ahead of its XPL initial coin offering—which will not be a stablecoin.

The company has also raised $24 million across its seed and Series A funding rounds in February, with support from Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, and more. Ardoino and Thiel also serve as advisors to the project.

Plasma One promises to offer zero fees on USDT transfers—an offering the Plasma blockchain is also seeking to deliver. It also claims that users will be able to claim over 10% yield on their stablecoin balances with no lockup period required. A Plasma representative told Decrypt that the yield will be generated from Plasma’s DeFi ecosystem.

For context, Plasma is currently offering a 2% yield on USDT holdings on Binance. It was in high demand on its August launch, quickly attracting $1 billion worth of lock-ups. It’s worth noting, of course, that a 10% yield is a significant step up from this offering.

The Plasma team is eyeing September 25 for its mainnet beta release, and then it’ll be full steam ahead with the launch of its very own neobank.

Boundless mainnet launches with vision of internet scale for blockchains

Boundless mainnet launches with vision of internet scale for blockchains

by admin September 16, 2025

Boundless has officially activated its mainnet, transitioning its protocol for verifiable compute from beta to a live production environment to test its core thesis that blockchains can finally mirror the internet’s scaling model.

Summary

  • Boundless launches its mainnet, introducing Proof of Verifiable Work and ZK Coin (ZKC).
  • The network rewards provers for generating verifiable computation instead of traditional block mining.
  • Over 2,500 provers and 411,000 participants joined during Mainnet Beta, with $71M raised in the Kaito sale.

In an announcement on September 15, Boundless confirmed the activation of its mainnet, marking the shift from last year’s beta into full production. The launch introduces Proof of Verifiable Work and ZK Coin (ZKC), positioning zero-knowledge computation as the engine of scale.

By design, Boundless rewards provers for generating verifiable proofs, a departure from traditional block mining and an attempt to rewire blockchain economics around computation itself.

From theoretical Breakthrough to a functioning prover economy

According to the announcement, the foundational breakthrough traces back to 2021 with RISC Zero’s creation of the first RISC-V zkVM, which demonstrated that developers could generate zero-knowledge proofs from Rust and Solidity code instead of complex, custom circuits.

This innovation made ZK technology broadly accessible, but a usable zkVM alone wasn’t enough to scale entire ecosystems. Boundless emerged to build the missing piece via a universal, decentralized protocol that could apply verifiable compute across any chain or application.

The Boundless team said this vision began to materialize in late 2024 with the launch of its Collaborative Development Program, attracting early adopters to build on the nascent network. The project hit a significant inflection point by July 2025 with the debut of its Mainnet Beta. Notably, over 2,500 provers joined the network, 411,000 participants took part in the beta, and the Kaito token sale raised more than $71 million after being oversubscribed 18 times.

The infrastructure

Boundless introduces an economic mechanism called Proof of Verifiable Work, which is fundamentally a new type of mining. Unlike traditional proof-of-work networks that expend energy to solve arbitrary puzzles, Boundless provers are rewarded for generating useful, verifiable computation.

The protocol measures the complexity of each cryptographic proof and rewards provers with ZK Coin proportional to the actual work performed. This creates a direct market for verifiable compute, aligning incentives with tangible, valuable output rather than mere hash rate.

Provers are required to stake and lock ZKC to participate in proof generation, which serves as a security deposit that ensures honest work. This staking mechanism creates a virtuous cycle: as demand for proofs grows, more ZKC is locked up as collateral, simultaneously tightening the available supply and compounding the network’s overall security. It is, effectively, a token whose primary utility is to be staked and put to work.

After launching at an all-time high of $2.13 on September 15, ZKC’s price has seen significant turbulence. It is currently trading at approximately $0.86, a decline of roughly 48% in the last 24 hours that places it about 55% below its peak, according to CoinGecko data.

Keeta price gets Coinbase boost ahead of mainnet launch

by admin September 7, 2025

Keeta price jumped by over 17% on Saturday as smart money accumulation continued, after a major announcement from Coinbase and its founder.

Summary

  • Keeta price jumped by over 15% after Coinbase listing.
  • Whales and smart money investors have been accumulating the token.
  • Keeta will launch it mainnet network later this month.

The rally comes after Keeta (KTA) jumped to $1.09 on Sept. 5 — its highest point since Aug. 26. The surge has brought its market capitalization to over $406 million.

At last check on Saturday, Sept. 6, it was 42.4% below its all-time high of $1.68.

Keeta price jumps after milestone

The KTA price rally indicates a vindication of sorts for smart money investors who have aggressively bought up the supply. Nansen data shows that smart money investors now hold 8.65 million tokens, up from less than 7 million in July.

Similarly, whale investors have been slowly buying, pushing their total holdings to over 76.7 million.

The recent Keeta price surge occurred after it was listed on Coinbase, the biggest crypto exchange in the U.S. This listing will give it access to millions of customers in the U.S. and abroad.

Coinbase becomes the second most prominent exchange to have listed Keeta after Kraken. Before that, most of its trading was happening on Aerodrome and LBank.

KTA price also jumped after Ty Schenk, its founder, made a big announcement about its tokenomics. He stated that the early investors’ and team allocations would be combined to create Keeta’s strategic reserves, comprising 400 million KTA tokens, currently valued at over $400 million.

Backed by Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO, Keeta aims to be the fastest blockchain in the crypto industry, capable of handling over 10 million transactions per second. In a recent statement, the CEO hinted that the minnet launch would happen this month, a move that would also boost its price.

The eight-hour chart shows that the KTA price has rebounded after hitting the ascending trendline that connects the lowest swings since May this year.

Keeta has moved above the strong pivot, reversing the Murrey Math Lines, and is poised to flip the Ichimoku cloud indicator.

Therefore, the coin will likely pull back as the Coinbase listing hype eases and then rebound towards the mainnet launch. The bullish forecast will remain as long as it is above the ascending trendline.
