TRENDING RUMORS

– Newcastle United are preparing themselves for Liverpool to make another bid to sign striker Alexander Isak before the window closes, says iNews. Isak, 25, was the subject of a £110 million bid from the Reds earlier this month, but after it was rejected he posted on Instagram that “the relationship can’t continue” and has been left out of the squad all season. Meanwhile, The Times claims that Liverpool are set to focus on developing 16-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha, rather than pursuing other expensive signings like PSG’s Bradley Barcola or Lyon’s Malick Fofana.

– Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a £60m bid to sign Manchester City winger Savinho and will try until the end of the transfer window to get a deal done, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The 21-year-old is keen to join Spurs and now everything depends on the size of the offer. Meanwhile, Romano reports that Spurs have seen a €70m offer to sign Como midfielder Nico Paz rejected. The 20-year-old wants to stay with Como as he eyes a future return to his former club Real Madrid, who will activate a clause to re-sign him next year.

– Manchester City will consider joining the battle to sign Crystal Palace center back Marc Guéhi if Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake depart this week, says The Daily Star, with the pair being linked with Galatasaray and Everton respectively. Guehi, 25, is already wanted by Liverpool, Tottenham and Barcelona and has only one year remaining on his Palace contract. City are considering him as a £35m option and they feel he would have long-term value.

– Al Ittihad have opened the door for former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kanté to depart after two years with the Saudi Pro League club, as reported by Footmercato. The 34-year-old has already been offered to various Ligue 1 teams, including AS Monaco and Paris FC, as well as another Saudi club in Al Qadsiah. The midfielder’s next move is likely to be scrutinized by France manager Didier Deschamps with the 2026 World Cup approaching.

– AC Milan are looking to sign Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot after he was placed on the transfer list following a fight with a teammate, as reported by Calciomercato, which adds that USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah would be the player to make way. Atalanta like Musah but, the Rossoneri wouldn’t accept any offers under €30m. Rabiot has also been in touch with Internazionale and Juventus, but Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri wants to reunite with the 30-year-old.

Will Eze’s move to Arsenal force Liverpool to sign Isak?

Craig Burley debates whether Liverpool will be worried about Arsenal signing Eberechi Eze.

ESPN’s Beth Lindop on what the future holds for Alexander Isak.

Isak’s future has been the saga of the summer, and it shows no sign of reaching a resolution anytime soon.

The Sweden international took matters into his own hands last week by releasing a sensational statement, prompting Newcastle to issue public response of their own. While the Tyneside club remain steadfast in their desire not to sanction the player’s exit, the wording of their statement was perhaps less unequivocal than expected, noting that they “do not foresee” the conditions of a transfer being met.

That opens the door for Liverpool to return to the negotiating table with an improvement on their initial £110m bid. The Premier League champions’ interest in Isak remains, although they would have to be given encouragement from Newcastle to bid again.

While the fan response to Isak’s situation is rooted in emotion, football is ultimately a business and, should Liverpool return with a suitable offer, Newcastle may start to feel it is one they cannot refuse.

Liverpool Tops UK Charts As Crypto Kingpin, Survey Reveals

by admin June 17, 2025

According to a new Openreach study, Liverpool has climbed to the top of the UK’s list for regular cryptocurrency investing. About 13% of people in the city say they put money into crypto and check stocks on a regular basis. In London, 24% of residents use dating apps at least three days a week, compared with just 4% across Britain as a whole.

Liverpool Takes Crypto Lead

Based on reports from the survey, Liverpudlians are more likely than anyone else in Britain to log on and manage digital assets. That 13% figure outstrips every other city in the study. It suggests a strong local appetite for things like Bitcoin and Ethereum, even as markets wobble. Many people in Liverpool said they check prices several times a week, and some log in every day just to see what’s happening.

Daily Online Time Remains High

According to the findings, the average person in the UK spends about three-and-a-half hours online each day. About 20% of respondents admitted they spend over five hours a day in front of screens. Weekends don’t change much. When asked when they log on most, 64% said they’re active between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Of those late‑night users, 19% head straight to YouTube. That pattern hints at a mix of work‑shift browsing and just plain night‑owl habits.

Northern Cities Show Their Stripes

In Manchester, 27% of residents say they use Instagram regularly, more than anywhere else. Sheffield stands out in two areas: 32% of its people scroll through TikTok often, and 30% stream music every day. Sheffield households also top the list for time online, with 32% spending more than five hours a day on the internet. By comparison, only 11% of people in Brighton hit that mark.

Signs Of Screen Fatigue

The survey also found growing web‑use worries. About 43% of Britons feel they waste time online, and 37% worry about “doom‑scrolling.” A third (33%) say they’d feel more relaxed if they cut back on their screen hours. These figures show a real push for balance, as people juggle work chats, social feeds and streaming services.

Experts say these regional differences could guide local projects and advertisers. Openreach’s deputy CEO, Katie Milligan, added that while it’s great to see how areas adapt to life online, it’s even better that many recognize the need to switch off now and then. This mix of heavy use and self‑awareness paints a clear picture: Britain is more connected than ever, but many are ready for a digital breather.

A man has been arrested after a car collided with pedestrians in Liverpool city centre during Liverpool Football Club’s Premier League victory parade on Monday.

Merseyside Police confirmed that the man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area. Police have not confirmed whether the man arrested was the driver of the car.

Several police cars and ambulances are responding to the incident on Water Street, while an air ambulance also arrived at the scene.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: “We are currently dealing with reports of a road traffic collision in Liverpool city centre.

“We were contacted at just after 6pm [BST] today, Monday 26 May, following reports a car had been in a collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.

“The car stopped at the scene and a male has been detained. Emergency services are currently on the scene.

“We will issue more updates as we have them.”

No information on the number of injuries was provided.

In a later statement, they said: “We would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding tonight’s incident on Water Street in Liverpool city centre. We can confirm the man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area.”

Liverpool issued a statement, in which they said: “We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident.

“We will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities who are dealing with this incident.”

The incident came as hundreds of thousands of supporters lined the city’s streets to celebrate Liverpool winning the Premier League title.

Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, said in a statement: “The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected.

“I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident.

“I’m being kept updated on development,” he added, “and ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate.”
