Gomble Games Launches GOMBLE BUILDERS, decentralized game development platform

by admin May 26, 2025

The GOMBLE BUILDERS platform will enable collective game development, empowering small creators.

Game creation is becoming more inclusive and accessible. On Monday, Gomble Games announced the launch of GOMBLE BUILDERS, a platform for collective mobile game development. The platform will enable users to co-develop games, develop assets, and get rewarded for their contributions.

GOMBLE BUILDERS is LIVE!

NFTs can now be submitted to be integrated into our next game title—turning idle PFPs into playable assets that share on-chain revenue.

Developers will be able to submit their assets and register them in the form of NFTs, which will give users intellectual property over the asset. If the assets make it into a game, they will be rewarded for their contributions.

“NFTs can now be submitted to be integrated into our next game title—turning idle PFPs into playable assets that share on-chain revenue,” Gomble Games.

The platform also offers AI-powered tools that enable users to auto-generate game logic, NPCs, and other assets. This enables non-developer contributors to also participate in the game design process, significantly lowering the barrier to entry.

Mobile gaming market grows rapidly

Gomble Games is a South Korean game studio with over 100 million users across its games. Unlike most crypto games, Gomble targets mobile app stores and is designed to appeal to a mainstream audience, not just crypto natives. The finished games are meant to be played for enjoyment, and not for crypto rewards.

The mobile gaming market was worth $92.6 billion in 2024, and its revenues are projected to reach $126.06 billion in 2025. Unlike traditional console and PC games, mobile games are typically more accessible and appeal to casual players.

Still, because of high development costs, the gaming industry has significant barriers to entry. For this reason, more and more games, especially in Web3, are turning to collaborative game development, where expertise is crowdsourced from the community.

Despite the growth in traditional gaming, blockchain-based games declined in popularity in 2025. In April, the number of daily active users dropped 10%, to 4.8 million, the lowest level of engagement since the start of the year.

McDonald’s launches Mac & Cheese snack wrap but only in one country

by admin May 26, 2025

McDonald’s has launched a new mac and cheese snack wrap for breakfast customers, but it’s only available in one country.

McDonald’s discontinued the Snack Wrap in the United States back in 2016, but it hasn’t prevented the billion-dollar fast food franchise from keeping them alive and well in other countries.

Canada, for example, has McWraps that come in variations like Creamy Chipotle Chicken, Sweet Chili Fish, and breakfast wraps that use egg, hash browns, and even chicken.

Now, the company has released a new breakfast wrap for customers to enjoy, but those in the US will have to look from afar.

New breakfast wrap features mac and cheese

Dubbed the Crispy Mac N’ Cheesy Wrap, it features a crispy mac and cheese patty, scrambled eggs, cheese, and your choice of chicken, ham, or sausage wrapped in a warm tortilla.

The downside for US customers, however, is that the new wrap is only available in Singapore as of writing.

Those who want their breakfast to be a bit simpler can still get the regular wrap that features everything except for the crispy mac and cheese patty. McDonald’s has also released a new tater-tot-like item that they’ve dubbed the potato pops, which are also only available in Singapore.

This comes after years of McDonald’s fans in the United States taking to social media to ask for the return of snack wraps in the country.

Its return has been confirmed by the company, which says people asking for the menu item helped influence their decision to bring it back to stores.

As for when it’ll arrive, it isn’t exactly known yet. They’ve already launched their main ingredient, the McCrispy strips, and say the snack wraps will launch on the fourteenth day of any month before October.

Being that the date falls on the weekend during June and September, it’s likely we’ll have the Snack Wraps back in the US during July or August 2025.

Hedera Africa Hackathon launches with $1M prize pool and Web3 focus

by admin May 26, 2025

The Hashgraph Association and the Exponential Science Foundation have launched the Hedera Africa Hackathon 2025, a global event designed to accelerate Web3 and artificial intelligence adoption across the African continent.

With a prize pool of $1 million, the hackathon will run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30 and aims to attract over 10,000 participants across 15 African countries, according to a press release shared with Cointelegraph.

Organized by two nonprofit organizations — the Switzerland-based Hashgraph Association and the tech research-focused Exponential Science Foundation — the event is open to developers, students, and entrepreneurs worldwide.

“We aim to use technologies that converge Web3 with AI to create transparent cognitive solutions that optimize processes and facilitate decision-making and automate the execution,” said Kamal Youssefi, the president of the board of directors at the Hashgraph Association.

All solutions will be built on the Hedera network across four tracks: onchain finance and real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation; ESG sustainability and traceability; self-sovereign identity (SSI) and AI; and gaming, metaverse and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Up to 15 outstanding teams will receive prizes based on innovation, impact and alignment with the hackathon’s goals.

This Hackathon covers large areas in Africa, with onsite events in over 20 African cities such as Lagos, Cairo, Nairobi, Kinshasa, Cape Town, Casablanca and Tunis.

Interest in Africa’s Web3 potential is growing, with more than 50 partners and 100 universities and tech hubs having already joined the Hedera Africa Hackathon.

Africa’s Web3 talents are poised for global impact

Due to high inflation, a weak banking system and widespread corruption, many people in Africa lack access to reliable financial services. This creates opportunities for Web3 projects like Jambo and Yellow Card to offer alternatives for saving and earning.

Kamal highlighted Africa’s strength in its “young population with ambitious tech talents”. He cited Hedera’s partnership with Orange, a telecommunications operator, to launch digital empowerment programs across 16 African countries — initiatives that “include training, certification and the establishment of incubation and accelerator centers”.

“Africa brings a unique advantage to Web3: a demographic edge and a proven capacity for digital adoption,” said Paolo Tasca, executive chairman of the Exponential Science Foundation. “Yet barriers remain, particularly in foundational infrastructure and education.”

Governments are also ramping up talent development. Nigeria, for example, recently launched an annual initiative to train 1,000 citizens in artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies.

Ledger Launches Solana Branded Ledger Flex Hardware Wallets

by admin May 25, 2025

In brief

  • The new Ledger Flex Solana Edition offers the same technical features as the standard version but comes in custom blue and green colors.
  • It includes a non-transferable Soulbound Token (SBT) for community members.
  • The device launches in four phases, with early access for existing Solana SBT holders receiving up to $70 in SOL rebates.

Ledger, one of the world’s most popular hardware wallet makers, has launched a new iteration of its Flex flagship device, custom-tailored to the Solana community.

The Ledger Flex Solana Edition offers the exact same technical functionality as the off-the-rack Ledger Flex, released in July 2024. This includes an additional layer of safety for users’ crypto in the form of a self-custody “cold wallet” that isn’t connected to the internet, but also includes additional features such as an E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity, and its own operating system, Ledger OS.

But where the device really adds value is in terms of engaging Solana’s growing userbase, Ian Rogers, Chief Experience Officer of Ledger, told Decrypt.

“This is one of those things where it’s really community-focused. It’s a way for you to say, hey, I’m a member of the Ledger Solana community.”

Not only will buyers receive a custom Solana-themed colorway in their new wallet, in blue and green, but they will receive what’s called a Soulbound Token (SBT).

These SBTs are unique as they are non-transferable tokens that cannot be given to other parties or financialized after being minted. They were co-dreamt up by ETH founder Vitalik Buterin in a 2022 whitepaper, and were meant to represent “commitments, credentials, and affiliations” that make up the social relations in the Web3 world.

“The Solana Soulbound Token shows that you are a Solana Flex holder—and that really also signifies that you’re an early adopter,” said Rogers.

Owners of these SBT tokens will receive airdrops of rewards in the future. Unfortunately, Rogers didn’t mention what these rewards could be, saying they will happen “organically.”

The new device will launch in four phases. The first phase, which will come with a $70 Solana rebate and black magnetic folio, is only available to those who already owned Solana-based Soulbound tokens—for example, Solana Saga and Solana Seeker Genesis Token holders, Solana Mobile preorder token holders, and Superteam Members SBT holders.

The next allocation of devices will include the magnetic folio and a $50 voucher in SOL, and the third allocation will be available to purchase by anyone who holds SOL in Ledger Live, and will include the magnetic folio and just $20 in SOL.

After initial allocations have been sold, it will be available on Ledger.com as a general release, and all orders will still include an SBT.

More hardware takes aim at the Solana community

The new hardware wallet isn’t the only device aimed at using unique tokens to incentivise engagement from Solana’s community.

The second-generation Solana mobile phone, the Solana Seeker, is set to begin shipping worldwide on August 4, courtesy of Solana Mobile. Like it’s predecessor, the Solana Saga, every Seeker phone will ship with what it calls a Genesis NFT, another soulbound token forever bound to it’s owner’s wallet.

Soulbound token owners have received some pretty hefty financial rewards in the past, if indirectly.

When the Solana Saga was released in December 2022, token holders were airdropped around $300 worth of memecoin BONK—which later exploded in value before before a major sellout, creating major paper returns.

Zenless Zone Zero Season 2, Where Clouds Embrace The Dawn, launches next month

by admin May 25, 2025

Zenless Zone Zero Season 2, entitled Where Clouds Embrace The Dawn, will launch on 6th June.

Calling it “a significant update and milestone moment” – the gacha game will also release on the same day for Xbox – HoYoverse teased that in Version 2, players will “embark on a brand-new and exciting journey to Waifei Peninsula, alongside Yixuan from Yunkui Summit”.

“In this expansive update, Proxies will venture into the all-new Waifei Peninsula alongside trusted allies such as Yixuan from Yunkui Summit, revitalize the Suibian Temple nestled within the bustling Failume Heights, and take on more challenging Hollow combat in a more open and spacious environment. To commemorate the game’s first anniversary, Version 2.0 will bring a wide array of celebration rewards including a free S-Rank Agent, a free S-Rank W-Engine, 1,600 Polychromes and 20 Encrypted Master Tapes,” the developer added.

Version 2.0 Teaser “Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn” | Zenless Zone Zero.Watch on YouTube

Following the resolution of the Sacrifice crisis in previous chapters, Season 2 sees Proxies further uncover the hidden secrets of Phaethon and experience new Hollow exploration gameplay that harnesses the forces of Ether.

“The region’s main city Failume Heights thrives near the Lemnian Hollow, renowned for the rare resource Porcelume. It offers distinctive tea houses, pawnshops, and dessert stalls, inviting Proxies to immerse themselves in the local atmosphere,” HoYo added. “Meanwhile, Proxies will take on management of their very own Suibian Temple, upgrade the temple’s facilities and earn in-game rewards by dispatching Bangboos, completing commissions, and collecting resources from the Hollows.”

Several new allies will join the roster: Yixuan, also known as the Grandmaster, will join the combat as an S-Rank Agent, Ju Fufu, the senior disciple of Yunkui Summit, who will debut as an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent, and Pan Yinhu, Yunkui Summit’s A-Rank Physical Defense Agent.

The S-Rank Ether Support Astra Yao and the S-Rank Physical Defense Caesar will return to the Version 2.0 banners.

Players can also expect Hollow Zero: Lost Void to be updated with “new commissions and the possibility to equip multiple Gears to different Agents, adding more strategic options to battles”, plus a brand-new 3D map with enhanced navigation features.

“In Version 2.0, Proxies will be able to enter the cinema in Lumina Square to enjoy movies with different characters during the Gravitational Attraction event and obtain exclusive rewards by completing certain tasks, including an A-Rank W-Engine Reel Projector,” we’re told. “In the Soul of Steel: Golden Bond event, Proxies can pilot sleek mechs into the Hollows, take on a variety of challenges, and earn abundant rewards.”

In March, two voice actors working on Zenless Zone Zero were suddenly recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike over AI abuse, and discovered the change alongside the publication of the game’s patch notes. In a statement subsequently shared on social media, the studio said its contracts offer “explicit AI protections, regardless of union status” and it will continue to work on its clients’ projects “in the most human way possible”.

‘A New Frontier’: DeLorean Launches On-Chain Car Marketplace With Patrick Stewart

by admin May 24, 2025

In brief

  • The DeLorean Motor Company has teamed up with Patrick Stewart for the launch of its on-chain car marketplace.
  • The “Star Trek” actor appears in a 60-second promo spot for DeLorean.
  • The DeLorean Marketplace will enable car enthusiasts to buy and sell their build slots for the upcoming DeLorean Alpha 5 EV model.

Renowned British actor Sir Patrick Stewart has teamed up with the DeLorean Motor Company to launch a car marketplace on the blockchain.

Based on the Sui network, The DeLorean Marketplace is designed to modernize the process of reserving, managing and reselling high-end cars.

DeLorean shot to fame back in the 1980s, when the company’s DMC-12 car was featured as the iconic time-travel machine in the “Back to the Future,” films—but the company hasn’t manufactured a new vehicle in more than 40 years.

All of that is about to change as it unveils the Alpha 5 EV, bringing its iconic gull-wing doors into the 21st century.

Build slots for the hotly anticipated car are going to be tokenized, meaning they can be traded between users.

Image: DeLorean Labs

“A new frontier awaits…”

Stewart tweeted a dramatic, slickly produced 60-second spot to promote the Alpha 5, declaring, “A new frontier awaits…”

In the video, the “Star Trek” star said, “We find ourselves standing before the evolution of automotive science, where innovation meets an icon.”

DeLorean’s chief brand officer Cameron Wynne said the company’s embrace of blockchain is a natural fit, as its brand stands for “vision, rebellion and futuristic innovation.”

In a press release shared with Decrypt, Wynne said that DeLorean’s new on-chain reservation platform, “advances our commitment to transparency and security, giving our community direct access to the future of vehicle ownership.”

Image: DeLorean Labs

The blockchain will also be used to deliver a transparent, immutable ledger for each new DeLorean rolling off the production line, enabling buyers in the resale market to access authenticated data relating to its history and performance.

A native token called $DMC is set to launch at a later date, enabling holders to stake and earn rewards.

DeLorean Labs’ Web3 ambitions

The new marketplace is the brainchild of DeLorean Labs, a dedicated Web3 division, and the company has ambitions to roll out its marketplace model to other industries who would benefit from on-chain solutions.

Build slots are available to reserve at marketplace.delorean.com in NFT form and can be purchased using USDC, one of the world’s best-known stablecoins. Issued by Circle, the digital asset is pegged on a 1:1 basis with the dollar.

Image: DeLorean Labs

Each slot costs $2,500, with the fee acting as a credit toward the cost of the Alpha 5 EV once it’s produced and delivered. Executives say it doubles up as a “ticket to owning a piece of DeLorean’s future.”

Build slots with a lower number carry a higher priority for earlier delivery, meaning they could attract a premium in the future.

Image: DeLorean Labs

Once cars go into production, NFT holders will also be able to customize their vehicle—and have their say on everything from the vehicle’s color to its powertrain.

DeLorean said that intelligent, intuitive human design and craftsmanship are at the heart of its new vehicle, with builds set to commence at a later date.

Six One Indie launches publishing label

by admin May 23, 2025

The team behind the Six One Indie Showcase and The Indie Game Awards has launched its own publishing label.

Six One Indie Publishing describes itself as an “integrated, indie-first platform” for developers.

It will offer support in launch strategy, media relations, and showcase integration as well as development support in areas including QA testing and localisation.

“The number of games hitting the market grows by the day, but unfortunately, the people to cover and amplify them seem to dwindle just as fast,” said Six One Indie creative director Mike Towndrow.

“Six One Indie has evolved into an ecosystem that can now offer a unique opportunity to get indies in front of players through fresh, unconventional means.”

Towndrow added: “We’re not building a publishing label for the old industry. We’re building one for the new wave of indie – where passion, connection, and creative control comes first.

“Indies deserve more than a checklist, they deserve a major push backed by authenticity, genuine enthusiasm, and a new approach for an unpredictable industry.”

Six One Indie was founded in 2018, with its first showcase debuting in 2022.

YGG Launches New Publishing Arm, Debuts First Game ‘LOL Land’

by admin May 23, 2025

In brief

  • Yield Guild Games has launched a new publishing division, YGG Play, focused on casual, crypto-native titles it dubs “Casual Degen” games.
  • Its first release, LOL Land, is a browser-based board game that features Pudgy Penguins community characters and offers token-based rewards.
  • The game has launched exclusively on Pudgy Penguins’ Abstract Chain and has received over 100,000 pre-registrations ahead of release, according to YGG.

After four years of watching Web3 games struggle to find their audience, Yield Guild Games decided the industry had to rethink how it matches players with the kind of games they’re actually in for: lighthearted chaos, in a “casual degen” vibe.

Instead of chasing broad mainstream adoption, the guild protocol launched YGG Play, a new game publishing unit dedicated to games that embrace the degen culture, with LOL Land, a web browser-based game explicitly designed for crypto-native players who live in the proverbial trenches.

“People play casual games on their phones while commuting, waiting in line, or taking a break,” Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG, told Decrypt. “They do it for fun as well as rewards like streaks, badges, or collectibles. And they happily spend a lot of real money on those games.”

Through its years of establishing a foothold with Web3 gamers by pioneering the so-called “play-to-earn” movement from 2020, YGG has learned “what’s fun, what works and what doesn’t,” leading it to develop “some very strong opinions on how to best serve the crypto market,” Dizon explained in a separate statement shared with Decrypt.

The move represents a strategic shift for YGG from investing in Web3 games to creating them directly. Rather than targeting mainstream gamers, the guild is focusing on crypto-native users who trade memecoins, mint NFTs, and engage in speculative activities.

The new game, LOL Land, features four thematic boards, including YGG City, Beach Day, Carnival, and Ice World Wonderland, which showcases Pudgy Penguins IP with playable characters based on community members like Aaron Teng and Rusk0f.

The game offers two distinct gameplay modes. Free play provides unlimited rolls without token rewards, while premium mode requires purchasing rolls to earn points redeemable for YGG tokens from a $10 million prize pool.

The browser-based board game surpassed 100,000 pre-registrations before launching exclusively on Abstract Chain, according to YGG.

For LOL Land, players can “earn YGG tokens and [you] can use them to claim NFTs,” Dizon explained.

The game draws directly from Dizon’s experience in casual games and his experience in Web3 gaming thereafter.

“Before getting into crypto and founding YGG, I was a game developer for a little bit over 20 years,” Dizon shared with Decrypt. “I was making casual games for much of my career.”

Degens over mass market

The publishing strategy deliberately targets crypto enthusiasts rather than attempting to onboard traditional gamers. Dizon argues this approach addresses an underserved market segment larger than hardcore Web3 gaming.

“If you look at people who are trading memecoins, minting NFTs, or trading on exchanges, these are people that you can consider to be possible players under the ‘Casual Degen’ label,” Dizon said.

Asked about how he thinks Web3 games could last, Dizon, who claims to prefer playing single-player RPGs like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, told Decrypt it’s a matter of perseverance.

“I do think that Web3 games can have a lasting impact on people,” he said. “It’s hard to make games in general. It’s even harder to make games that have new technology and figure out what the right format is for that technology, for people to use it.

Volatility Shares launches first XRP futures ETF on Nasdaq

by admin May 22, 2025

Volatility Shares has launched the first-ever XRP futures ETF on Nasdaq today, offering investors indirect exposure to XRP through regulated derivatives for the first time.

According to a SEC filing dated May 21, Volatility Shares, a U.S. firm specializing in innovative ETFs —including leveraged and futures-based products tied to crypto, is launching the first-ever Ripple (XRP) futures exchange-traded fund today, May 22. The new product, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker $XRPI, is the first ETF of its kind to offer indirect exposure to XRP through futures contracts.

The ETF, part of the Volatility Shares Trust, will invest at least 80% of its net assets in XRP-linked instruments, including futures contracts traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, via a subsidiary based in the Cayman Islands. In addition to the standard product, Volatility Shares also plans to introduce a leveraged 2x XRP futures ETF, aimed at delivering twice the daily performance of XRP futures.

Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, called the 1x XRP futures fund a “market first” in a post on X, noting that its debut follows the successful launch of a 2x XRP futures ETF by Teucrium in April. That leveraged fund has already amassed $120 million in assets under management and sees daily trading volumes around $35 million, an encouraging signal for demand.

The rollout of these XRP-related financial products comes amid broader speculation that the SEC could approve spot XRP ETFs by the end of this year. Several firms, including Franklin Templeton, 21Shares, and Bitwise, are vying to launch spot-based XRP funds, which would hold XRP directly rather than rely on derivatives.

According to Polymarket, traders are placing the probability of a spot XRP ETF being approved in 2025 at 83%. Nate Geraci, president of The ETF Store, echoed that sentiment, stating, “I simply don’t see this SEC not approving a spot XRP ETF.

2x leveraged XRP ETF is *currently* live & trading…

I simply don’t see this SEC not approving spot XRP ETF.

And sooner, rather than later.

AMD launches Radeon AI Pro R9700 to challenge Nvidia’s AI market dominance

by admin May 21, 2025

AMD has been busy at Computex 2025, where the chipmaker unveiled the exciting Radeon RX 9060 XT and the Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series. To cap off its series of announcements, AMD is thrilled to introduce the Radeon AI Pro R9700, a PCIe 5.0 graphics card designed specifically for professional and workstation users.

RDNA 4 is an architecture geared towards gaming, but that doesn’t mean AMD can’t apply it to professional-grade graphics cards. For instance, RDNA 3 saw the mainstream Radeon RX 7000 series successfully coexisting with the Radeon Pro W7000 series. The same situation will occur with RDNA 4. AMD has already unveiled four RDNA 4-powered gaming graphics cards, yet the Radeon AI Pro R9700 is the first RDNA 4 professional graphics card to enter the market. The new workstation graphics card aims to replace the RDNA 3-powered Radeon Pro W7800, which has been faithfully catering to consumers since 2023.

The Radeon AI Pro R9700 utilizes the Navi 48 silicon. It’s currently the largest RDNA 4 silicon to date, with a die size of 357 mm² and home to 53.9 billion transistors. Navi 48 is also found in the Radeon RX 9070 series. It’s a substantially smaller silicon than the last-generation Navi 31 silicon, which is 529 mm² with 57.7 billion transistors. It’s nothing short of impressive that Navi 48 is roughly 33% smaller but still has 93% of the transistors of Navi 31.

Navi 48, a product of TSMC’s N4P (4nm) FinFET process node, adheres to a monolithic design. On the contrary, Navi 31 features an MCM (Multi-Chip Module) design, consisting of chiplets interconnected to a monolithic die. That’s the reason why Navi 31 is so enormous. The GCD (Graphics Complex Die) alone measures 304.35 mm², whereas each of the six MCDs (Memory Cache Die) is 37.52 mm².

With Navi 48, AMD returned to a monolithic die and, with N4P’s help, reduced the die size by 33%. Nonetheless, Navi 48 is up to 38% denser than Navi 31. The former has a density of 151 million transistors per mm², whereas the latter comes in at 109.1 million transistors per mm².

In terms of composition, the Navi 48 features 64 RDNA 4 Compute Units (CUs), which enable a maximum of 4,096 Streaming Processors (SPs). In contrast, the Navi 31 is equipped with 96 RDNA 3 CUs, for a total of 6,144 SPs. More CUs don’t necessarily mean more performance since RDNA 4 delivers considerable generation-over-generation performance uplift over RDNA 3.

AMD, being AMD as usual, didn’t reveal the Radeon AI Pro R9700’s entire specifications. However, the chipmaker did boast about the graphics card’s 128 AI accelerators, meaning it’s leveraging the full Navi 48 silicon. That means the Radeon AI Pro R9700 is rocking 4,096 SPs, 9% fewer than the Radeon Pro W7800. It also correlates to the former having 9% less AI accelerators. In the Radeon AI Pro R9700 ‘s defense, the CUs are RDNA 4, and the AI accelerators are second generation.

Regarding FP16 performance, the Radeon AI Pro R9700 peaks at 96 TFLOPS, 6% faster than the Radeon Pro W7800. AMD rates the graphics card with a 1,531 TOPS of AI performance.

AMD claims the Radeon AI Pro R9700 offers 2X improved performance over the Radeon Pro W7800 in DeepSeek R1 Distill Llama 8B. For some strange reason, AMD compared the Radeon AI Pro R9700 to the GeForce RTX 5080. Tested in a few large AI models, the Radeon AI Pro R9700 delivered up to 5X higher performance than the RTX 5080.

The Radeon AI Pro R9700 is equipped with 32GB of GDDR6 memory. AMD has not disclosed the specifications regarding the speed of the memory chips or the width of the memory interface. Given that the Radeon Pro W7800 features 18 Gbps GDDR6, it is reasonable to conclude that the Radeon AI Pro R9700 should utilize memory chips with superior speed.

With 32GB of onboard memory, the Radeon AI Pro R9700 can tackle most AI models. It has the capacity of the Radeon Pro W7800, but not as much as the 48GB variant. The Radeon AI Pro R9700’s typical blower-type design will enable users to rock up to four of them inside a single system, such as AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper platform, which has good multi-GPU support. With four of them, users will have access to 128GB, more than enough for heavy models that exceed 100GB of VRAM usage.

The Radeon AI Pro R9700 has a 300W TBP (Total Board Power). It’s 15% greater than the Radeon Pro W7800 32GB and 7% higher than the Radeon Pro W7800 48GB. Similar to most workstation-grade graphics cards, the Radeon AI Pro R9700 has the power connector at the rear. However, AMD has not indicated the type of power connector it employs, and it’s not visible in the provided renders. Considering the 300W rating, we would anticipate it to require two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. The Radeon AI Pro R9700 renders illustrate the graphics card featuring four DisplayPort outputs. Since it utilizes the RDNA 4 architecture, these outputs should conform to the 2.1a standard.

AMD has announced that the Radeon AI Pro R9700 will launch in July, but it has not revealed pricing details. In contrast, the Radeon Pro W7800 debuted at $2,499 two years ago and has maintained most of its value, currently priced at $2,399. We will soon learn the price of the Radeon AI Pro R9700 as its launch approaches in just a couple of months. AMD anticipates a healthy supply of the Radeon AI Pro R9700 from its partners, including ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, XFX, and Yeston.
