Turkish Crypto Trading App Midas Raises $80M in Latest Push

by admin August 22, 2025

Midas, Turkey’s leading investment and crypto trading platform, has raised $80 million in its Series B funding round. This is the largest investment ever for a Turkish fintech company, with the firm’s total funding now exceeding $140 million.

According to the announcement, the funding round was led by QED Investors and included new backers like the International Finance Corporation (IFC), HSG, QuantumLight, Spice Expeditions LP, and George Rzepecki. Existing investors such as Spark Capital, Portage Ventures, Bek Ventures, and Nigel Morris also participated.

— Egem Eraslan (@EgemEraslan) August 20, 2025

Founded in 2020, Midas gained popularity during COVID lockdowns and later when inflation in Turkey pushed people toward investing in stocks. The app now serves 3.5 million investors, offering access to U.S. stocks, mutual funds, and cryptocurrencies, as well as stocks listed on Borsa Istanbul.

This funding round brings Midas close to unicorn status. Can Gemici, the company’s head of strategy, said it will probably become a unicorn in the next funding round.

Midas’ Expansion Plans

Midas intends to use the fresh capital to extend its product offerings, which include derivatives, warrants, European stocks, and corporate accounts.

The platform is also expanding its offerings for more experienced investors, including margin investing, advanced analytics, and derivatives trading. Starting in September, U.S. options trading will be available with free real-time data and competitive pricing.

At the same time, Midas is strengthening its security and infrastructure to ensure a safe and reliable investing experience.

Fanatical’s Latest PC Game Bundle Includes Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Cryptmaster, And 20 More Games

by admin August 22, 2025

Fanatical has launched a new Summer Superstars Collection Bundle, giving you the chance to grab up to 22 PC games for as little as $6.60 each. The curated list has some pretty good titles in the mix, ranging from an acclaimed Hideo Kojima game to a colorful Zelda-like set in the Austrian Alps. Pricing starts at two games for $15 ($7.50 per key), and the price will drop the more games you choose from the list. If you choose three or more games, you’ll pay $7.15 per key, and if you choose five or more games, the price drops further to $6.60 per key. There’s no limit to how many games you can select, and if you grab all 22 games, you’ll pay $145–a pretty big discount from the full bundle’s $519 value.

Kicking things off is Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Hideo Kojima’s first game after his departure from Konami, Death Stranding is a strange but engaging game about getting cargo from point A to B while being mindful of the terrain, rain that steals time, and invisible dead creatures known as BTs. It has a slow start, but once things pick up, the game quickly evolves into a breathtaking tour of the US. This is the Director’s Cut as well, so you’re getting numerous enhancements and gameplay refinements. Since the sequel has just come out on PS5–and has been critically acclaimed–this is a great way to jump into the world of Death Stranding before Death Stranding 2: On the Beach makes its way to PC eventually.

Our other big recommendation is Dungeons of Hinterberg. Imagine The Legend of Zelda if it were a European comic book, and you’ll have a good idea of what you can expect from the game’s visuals and vibe. The game features a robust system of socializing, as you’ll need to brave dungeons and the nightlife of a scenic Austrian village, building bonds with your fellow adventurers.

Fanatical’s Build your own Summer Superstars Collection

Another notable pick is the action-adventure game Creatures of Ava. As Vic, a researcher who arrives on the planet Ava to help rescue animals before the world is rendered uninhabitable by a mysterious plague, you’ll have to explore diverse biomes to save all of the critters.

There are many more games to pick from in Fanatical’s Build Your Own Summer Super Stars Collection, including the dungeon-crawling typing game Cryptmaster, post-apocalyptic colony survival sim Endzone 2, and the puzzle-RPG hybrid Arranger, which melds slide puzzles and bumb combat with art by David Hellman of Braid fame. Check the list below for all the games you can pick in the deal, or head over to Fanatical to start customizing your own bundle. As a reminder, each game purchased is delivered as an official Steam key.

If you’d like to grab RoboCop: Rogue City for just $5–and a few other games–then don’t miss out on the Killer Bundle, or for a selection of action-packed games, there’s also the Build Your Own Slayer Bundle.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: where to watch and my latest predictions in the build-up to tonight’s event

This is a bit of a weird one, but I have received confirmation that there will be at least one automobile present in the halls at Gamescom 2025.

It’s a special version of the Aston Martin Vantage coupe, with custom artwork based on the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction from Zenless Zone Zero.

It will be showed off at the game’s booth in Hall 6, booth C-031, where visitors will be able to bask in all of its glory. Those going to the booth will also be able to complete check-in missions, and win prizes including a special 1:18 scale model of the Aston Martin car.

You can find full details on the competition via the X / Twitter post below.

Last year Hoyoverse had a huge booth in the public area, and I expect Gamescom 2025 to be no different.

The brand’s presence at the trade show also suggests that there will be some interesting announcements during the Opening Night Live show, potentially new seasonal content for games Zenless Zone Zero or Genshin Impact.

Our agents on the ground have arrived

I might be stuck behind a computer screen this year, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have some agents on the ground right now.

My colleagues Rhys and Rob reached Cologne, Germany, this morning and are currently scouting things out and attending a few early appointments ahead of Opening Night Live.

They tell me it’s quite quiet over there at the moment, as I’m sure you can imagine, but I’m expecting all of that to change as the show nears.

Expect a Lords of the Fallen 2 reveal

It looks like Lords of the Fallen 2 will be revealed later tonight, following a fairly transparent teaser posted by the official Lords of the Fallen X / Twitter account.

The image, which shows part of a character in gothic armor, features the word “tonight” with the letter “i” replaced by the Roman numeral for two.

I was a fan of the latest Lords of the Fallen game, which released back in 2023. In fact, I did a expansive cover feature with a multiple-page preview of the title back when I worked on the UK’s PlayStation Magazine, so it’s a series that’s pretty close to my heart

Despite the name, Lords of the Fallen 2 would actually be the third Lords of the Fallen game. That’s because of 2014’s Lords of the Fallen, which is not to be confused with its 2023 successor.

Have any burning Opening Night Live thoughts or predictions?

You can send them my way by posting to X / Twitter and tagging us @techradar! Alternatively, you can email me directly using the handy email button at the top of my author page.

Whether you have created your own bingo card, have a list of wild hopes and dreams, or just want to offer some comments on the whole Opening Night Show, I’ll be sharing the very best contributions here on this page throughout the evening.

Just remember to keep it PG, or I’ll get in big trouble with my boss and we don’t want that, do we?

We’re in for a live music performance

Geoff Keighley has confirmed that we will be in some music tonight.

It will be the first ever live performance of music from the popular RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from composers Alice Duport-Percier and Lorien Testard.

Exactly which songs will be performed is currently up in the air, but lovers of the game definitely won’t want to miss this…

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong news on the cards?

Hollow Knight: Silksong is easily one of the most anticipated games right now. A sequel to the 2017 indie hit, fans have been waiting for more news about this upcoming instalment for more than six years.

Could we hear more about it tonight? It’s definitely likely, as presenter Geoff Keighley has been teasing something Silksong related.

Yesterday, he posted a photo of himself wearing a clown nose to his X / Twitter account, captioned “First time? See you tomorrow for Gamescom ONL.” It might not seem like much, but it’s a reference popular meme featuring the protagonist of Hollow Knight wearing a similar clown costume.

First time? 🤡 See you tomorrow for @gamescom ONL. pic.twitter.com/59ef5sFysJAugust 18, 2025

He actually posted the original meme last year, alongside clarification that there would be “no Silksong“, so this seems like an intentional call-back.

Hopefully we’re in for some kind of exciting update regarding the game tonight.

ICYMI: the latest Nintendo Direct is underway

Kirby Air Riders Direct – 19/08/2025 – YouTube

Watch On

It’s not technically part of Gamescom, but the timing of this latest Nintendo Direct is definitely deliberate and likely an attempt by Nintendo to squeeze in their own short presentation before attention shifts to the big Opening Night Live show.

The Direct is focused on the upcoming racing game Kirby Air Riders, and is our first real look at the title since its announcement back the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this year.

The broadcast is currently live right now, so you can tune in if you’re interested in learning all about it.

Good afternoon gamers!

This is the very start of my Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 coverage. If you’re just tuning in, then don’t worry – you haven’t missed anything yet!

With the show set to take this evening, I’ll be walking you through the build up, sharing the latest news as it happens, and a few of my own personal predictions then bringing you a steady stream of announcements once the broadcast begins.

Black Ops 7 release date spotted in the wilds ahead of Call of Duty’s latest Gamescom blowout

by admin August 19, 2025

True to the game’s billing as the twistiest of duty-shooters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s release date trailer appears to have leaked ahead of a possible Gamescom Opening Night Live showing tonight. The new FPS will launch on 14th November, close to a month after rival Battlefield 6’s release on October 10th. Also, it appears to have jet packs and mechs.

The leak comes care of that ever-dependable source of military intelligence, a video advertisement that seems to have been accidentally published early. The ad has now been removed, but not before CharlieIntel spotted it and shared it on the Xeetbox, along with some thoughts based on the user’s own pre-release access. “Just to tone down expectations, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 does not have jet packs or double jumps as part of its movement,” CharlieIntel claims. Alas for Black Ops 3 and Halo: Reach players. Good news, I guess, for people who relish the ‘omnimovement’ of Black Ops 6.

Here is what we know of Call of Duty: Bleven for sure: it requires secure boot, to avoid cheaters. It’s got the usual co-op, zombies and competitive multiplayer bits. The campaign is set in 2035, hence the mechs and jet packs, and expands upon the global calamities unleashed in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. It sees grizzly grumbleface David Mason chasing after an enigmatic new foe who “weaponise fear”. There will probably be hallucinations and other Manchurian Candidate-esque horseplay to wash down the gadgets and gunnery.

As reported by VGC, today’s release date whoopsie corroborates a previous leak that also included a price tag for the Standard Edition – $70 or €80 – with a Vault Edition priced at $100 or €110. If legit, this means that Microsoft has still yet to cross the Rubicon and raise the game’s base US price to $80, as they tried to do with The Outer Worlds 2 until the internet started screaming at them.

Sketch crew Aunty Donna’s latest improv piece turned their set into a giant side-scrolling videogame and it’s great

by admin August 18, 2025

What happens when you put three very silly sketch comedians in a fantastical videogame environment reminiscent of the most frustrating, foolish, and hilarious 1990s point-and-click adventures? You get Aunty Donna’s latest sketch, “IRL videogame,” which in addition to using the PC Gamer preferred spelling of videogame is pretty funny stuff.

In it, comedians Mark Bonanno, Zachary Ruane, and Broden Kelly get dropped into a fantasy world by their producers and have to play along, including marching in place as the background scrolls past, through a series of increasingly strange and unhinged adventure encounters. Do they survive? What do they encounter besides a king that’s kind of like a baby? I don’t want to ruin it, but I can tell you there are way too many milkshakes for one man to handle.

The 30 minute version on YouTube is a cutdown of the full thing, which was made for subscribers of Aunty Donna’s (free) Patreon which has over 20,000 subscribers which is honestly a lot of subscribers for a Patreon even if it’s a free one. Anyway, subscribed or not, both versions are good and funny to me. They’re properly the exact kind of reaction you’d wish you could give to the goofy NPCs that popular adventure series.

Sketch group Aunty Donna has been doing their thing in Australia, and also the internet, for a long time now. It’s somewhere between surreal and absurd. They came to greater worldwide attention with Netflix series Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun, which prominently features a mouthy dishwasher that gets its rightful comeuppance.

Anyway, shoutout to Zachary Ruane for just straight-up sitting down because he’s tired. Man’s gotta get his rest somehow.

You can go watch these men react in an absurd way to their absurd life for about 30 minutes on YouTube and the full 70-minute cut on the Aunty Donna patreon.
