Firebreak headlines June’s PS Plus additions

by admin June 12, 2025

Remedy’s multiplayer spin on Control is coming to the PlayStation Game Catalog. Sony’s June PS Plus additions start with the day-one arrival of FBC: Firebreak. Other entries this month include the latest Battlefield entry and sticky-ball Katamari fun.

FBC: Firebreak lets you and up to two others team up to kick some Hiss ass. Play as a government employee who volunteered to take out extra-dimensional monsters. But the wicked delights really kick in when you enhance your plain ol’ guns with supernatural gear.

In our preview, Engadget’s Jessica Conditt saw a promising and “incredibly fun” shooter that only needed a bit of fine-tuning before launch. “Firebreak is poised to be a thoughtful and focused entry in the co-op shooter genre, and it’s already an inviting extension of Remedy’s darkest and silliest sensibilities,” she wrote.

FBC: Firebreak will be available in the Game Catalog on its launch day, June 17. You’ll need a PS Plus Extra or Premium membership to claim it.

Also coming on that date is Battlefield 2042. This could be a good time to catch up on the franchise before its next installment. (It’s expected by April 2026.) Also arriving this month is We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie. Who doesn’t love rolling a satisfyingly growing blob of random shit?

Both of those titles require a PS Plus Extra or Premium membership. Ditto for other June entries like Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 and theHunter: Call of the Wild. Meanwhile, the 2000 classic Deus Ex: The Conspiracy will only be available for Premium subscribers. You can check out the PlayStation blog for the complete list.

Phasmophobia June’s update reworks the Journal, Media, and brings a “total overhaul” of evidence collection

by admin May 31, 2025

Kinetic Games has confirmed Phasmophobia’s next content drop, Chronicle, will release on 24th June, and it’ll be its “biggest update yet”.

As well as introducing a “total overhaul” of how evidence is collected, the team said Chronicle will expand investigations with three new evidence types, a completely redesigned Journal, reworked levelling and progression, a refreshed Main Menu UI, and “many eerie surprises still lurking in the dark”.

But at the “heart” of the Chronicle update is the debut of the all-new Sound evidence. An entirely new haunting paranormal proof type can be captured through the new Sound Recorder, bringing “a new dimension to gameplay, revealing subtle clues that might otherwise be drowned out by terrified screams”. Available in the customary three upgrade tiers, players will be able to record audio from ghost events, Spirit Box responses, and Paranormal Sounds like those detected by the Parabolic Microphone.

It’s this new evidence type that’s necessitated a Journal upgrade, too. The Photo tab will be rebranded as “Media”, and keep all your photos, videos, and new sound recordings in one place. Importantly, you’ll have to fill your journal with all these unique media types, including “EMF spikes to ghostly interactions and fleeting glimpses of otherworldly forms”, to complete a “perfect” investigation.

“Chronicle will also introduce a revamped media quality system,” Kinetic teased. “The first evidence capture of any media type will be marked as ‘Unique’, granting extra cash and XP rewards at the end of each contract. Any subsequent captures of the same evidence type will be classed as ‘Duplicates’, offering smaller rewards. The new system will also add tier bonuses based on the equipment used and adds all media captures into the Reward Multiplier, making every shot, sound, and sight count even more toward player’s final payouts.”

Don’t forget that this year, Phasmophobia will also rework Grafton Farmhouse, following Bleasdale Farmhouse’s recent overhaul. Before then, though, we’ll also get to see the new levelling and progression system and Main Menu UI when Chronicle arrives at the end of June.

The ghost-hunting sim has sold two million copies on console since it came out of early access last October, bringing the total sales across all platforms to 22 million. The development team recently outlined the road ahead for the spooky sim in 2025, confirming map reworks, new ghost-hunting equipment, “thrilling seasonal events”, and a brand-new location, too.

Ethereum price declines, June’s poor track record looms

by admin May 31, 2025

Ethereum price pulled back in the past three days as traders adjust their positions for June, its historically worst month.

Ethereum (ETH) has declined for three consecutive days, hitting a low of $2,500. That’s a 9.8% drop from its monthly high. Despite the pullback, it has outperformed most altcoins, many of which have fallen more than 15% from their highs this month.

ETH retreated ahead of June, which is usually its worst month, because of the start of summer. CoinGlass data shows that the average monthly performance in June since 2016 is minus 7.4%. Its median monthly return in June is minus 8.68%.

June is also Bitcoin’s (BTC) second-worst-performing month after September, with an average return of minus 0.35%.

Seasonality does not always work out. For example, ETH dropped by 18% in March, bucking a four-year trend of gains. It also dropped by 31% in February, after recording positive gains in the last six consecutive years.

Ethereum has some strong fundamentals as June kicks off. First, there are signs that the coin is cheap, as the closely-watched MVRV ratio has moved to minus 0.074. The MVRV ratio compares the market value and the realized value, with a reading of less than 1 signaling that an asset is undervalued.

There are also signs that Ethereum whales are buying the dip. They hold 103.5 million ETH coins, up from this week’s low of 103.45 million. Whale purchases is a highly bullish sign.

Wall Street investors have also continued to buy ETH this month. Spot Ethereum ETFs have had inflows in the last 10 straight days, bringing the cumulative inflows to over $3 billion.

Ethereum price technical analysis

The daily chart below shows that Ethereum’s price bottomed at $1,385 on April 9 and then bounced back to the current $2,530. It has moved above the 50-day moving average and is slowly forming a bullish flag pattern.

This pattern comprises of a vertical line and a consolidation.

Ethereum is also forming a cup-and-handle pattern, a popular continuation sign. The cup has a depth of about 50%, giving it a price target of $4,185.
