In a new video about hidden or poorly explained Elden Ring Nightreign character mechanics, FromSoft LoreTuber-in-Chief VaatiVidya revealed that the new game’s default, John DarkSouls character, Wylder, actually has some fighting game-worthy combos and movement tech.

The tricks were first outlined months ago during Nightreign’s network test by user OnslaughtCasualty42 on the FromSoftware subreddit. In the delightfully named “A Dogshit Guide to Make Wylder Fly,” OnslaughtCasualty42 outlines how Wylder’s ultimate ability with the Guts arm cannon has some surprising interactions and combos with his jump and grappling hook.

The marquee one, shown off by Vaati, is to pull yourself forward with the grapple, do a 180° turn, and fire off the ultimate to launch yourself even farther forward like a Quake rocket jump. It reminds me most of the kind of wild movement tech and offstage recovery combos you see in Super Smash Bros. Melee, like the Reverse Temple Jump.

It honestly has pretty limited utility in actual Nightreign gameplay though: Maybe to clear a chasm quickly with no spirit spring around, get to the top of a fort from a nearby mountain, or quickly escape the danger zone as the circle closes in. But who cares⁠—it’s rad as hell.

Nightreign gets most things right and a few things bafflingly, disastrously wrong, but its roster of Souls dudes is unimpeachably excellent. They look sick, feel fun to play, and it’s starting to become apparent that they all have crazy-high fighting game skill ceilings with movement tech and hidden mechanics galore.

My favorite remains Johnny Katanas, the Executor, whose slow-moving Sekiro deflect stance demands that you learn when it’s time to tank, and when you should be DPSing. I hope FromSoft brings mechanics like these forward to character classes in its future mainline, single-player games.

‘Scream 7’ Is Getting a Time Jump From the Franchise’s Previous Installments

Details regarding Scream 7 are starting to trickle out as the horror franchise detours back into a story with its original remaining stars.

As original film scribe Kevin Williamson takes the helm of a Scream film for the first time, he’s bringing it all together with Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) as they encounter ghosts of friends and ghostfaces past, including David Arquette, Scott Foley, and Matthew Lillard.

Some of the Scream reboot core cast also remains, with Mason Gooding and Jasmine Savoy reprising their roles as the Meeks twins  But now there’s the development that the film will jump ahead in time for a “really cool reason” as shared by the film’s writer Guy Busick to ComicBook.com.

Busick continued to elaborate why the movie has become a Sidney-centered story, making the series’ original final girl once again the lead.

“I don’t want to give anything away about the reason [Scream 7] had to be a Sidney movie because there’s a really cool reason,” Busick told ComicBook. “In all these movies, you have to ask, ‘Why now? What is the thing Scream is commenting on now?’ Scream is always in a conversation with the audience about the state of movies, the state of horror movies and in particular, franchises.”

He shared that her participation was tantamount to the new installment’s themes. “We went to Neve Campbell and said, ‘This is why. This is why Sidney now.’ Neve was like, ‘Oh, I get that.’ I pitched Kevin [Williamson] this first, too. He got it and then I pitched the studio.”

He added that the new movie will not be set in New York, as the previous film was. It will also feature a time jump.

“I don’t want to be the one to spoil where it is,” Busick said; he also was vague on the time shift, but for seemingly less spoiler-y reasons. “It’s an unspecified amount of time [after Scream VI]. I might get contradicted by other people, but in my mind, more than two years. I would say at least two years. It could be two years, but I would say two years plus.”

Many are rightfully mad that Melissa Barrera was controversially pushed out of leading the franchise’s rebirth, and the repercussions of that might affect the interest with this particular sequel. It remains to be seen if bringing back so many past characters will be enough to compensate for perhaps wrongfully abandoning the Carpenter sisters storyline.

In the meantime we’ll be wondering if it’s back to Woodsboro we go! Scream 7 will hit theaters February 27, 2026.

Top 3 reasons Dogecoin price may jump 110% soon

Dogecoin’s price could be on the verge of a strong breakout as a bullish flag forms, whale accumulation accelerates, and the funding rate remains positive.

Dogecoin (DOGE), the biggest meme coin in crypto, was trading at $0.2280 on Tuesday, up by 75% from its lowest level in April. 

Technical analysis points to Dogecoin price surge

The daily chart suggests DOGE may be approaching a bullish breakout. It is forming a bullish flag pattern, characterized by a vertical rally followed by a consolidating rectangle. This setup is typically associated with continuation to the upside.

Dogecoin is also about to form a mini golden cross pattern, as the spread between the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages flips each other. 

Together, these patterns point to the potential for an aggressive breakout once the flag formation resolves. If that happens, the next key resistance to watch is $0.4815, the November 2023 high. This level represents a 110% increase from current prices. However, a drop below the psychological support at $0.20 would invalidate the bullish outlook.

Dogecoin has a positive funding rate

Another bullish catalyst is DOGE’s consistently positive funding rate. According to CoinGlass, the eight-hour funding rate has remained positive since March 31 and continues to climb.

In perpetual futures markets, a positive funding rate occurs when long position holders pay fees to short sellers, typically a sign that market sentiment expects prices to rise.

DOGE whales are accumulating

Additional data shows that large holders are accumulating DOGE, a sign of increasing confidence in a continued rally.

According to Santiment, addresses holding between 100 million and 1 billion DOGE now control over 26.46 billion tokens, the highest level since December 2023. Their holdings have grown from 23 billion tokens in January.

Supporting this trend, data shows sustained exchange outflows since November 2023. Dogecoin has recorded over $695 million in outflows since April 1, indicating that investors are moving coins from exchanges to self-custody, typically viewed as a long-term bullish signal.

Solana’s price path to $200 hit a challenge, as it stalled after finding strong resistance at $185 last week.

Solana (SOL) traded at $173.62 on Sunday, May 25, 7.25% from its highest level this month. It remains up by 82% from its lowest level this year. 

Third-party data shows that the Solana network and its ecosystem have done well in the past few weeks. The market cap of all meme coins on its ecosystem has risen to $14 billion from last month’s low of $6 billion. 

Solana’s transactions and active addresses have continued rising. Its transactions have increased by 7.3% in the last seven days to 462.5 million, a figure higher than the biggest chains, combined. For example, BNB Chain had 80 million transactions, while Base, Tron, and Near Protocol had $64 million, 62 million, and 42 million, respectively. 

Solana is also the most used blockchain network; its active addresses rose to over 34.7 million. In contrast, Base has 9.2 million, BNB has 7.8 million, while Ethereum has over 2.1 million addresses.

Solana is also a major player in the decentralized exchange industry, handling $22.7 billion worth of transactions in the last seven days and $97 billion in the last thirty days.

The daily chart shows the SOL price bottomed at $95.40 in April as concerns about its meme coins rose. It then rebounded to a high of $185 as other altcoins rallied. 

Solana has formed a small double-top pattern at $184.53 and a neckline at $159.45. A double-top is a popular bearish reversal pattern. 

On the positive side, the coin is about to form a golden cross pattern as the 50-day weighted moving average crosses the 200-day average. This pattern often leads to a strong bullish breakout. 

Therefore, the most likely Solana price forecast is bullish as long as it moves above the resistance at $184.53. Such a move will see it rise to the psychological point at $200, which is slightly above the 50% retracement level.

Ethereum, Solana and Dogecoin Jump as Bitcoin Sets Another Record Price

Bitcoin keeps rising Thursday, inching up to yet another all-time high mark after beating its four-month-old record on Wednesday. And that momentum appears to be spreading to other top coins, which have put up even larger daily gains than Bitcoin.

As of this writing, Bitcoin just hit a new record price of $111,808, per data from CoinGecko, continuing upward after first breaching the $110,000 mark late Wednesday. Bitcoin is now up 4.5% on the day and 22% over the last 30 days.

The leading cryptocurrency by market cap has completed a significant rebound after dipping to under $75,000 in early April amid President Trump’s growing global trade war. As Trump’s tariffs push has cooled amid deals with key trading partners, investors are again growing comfortable with risk-on assets, propelling crypto and stocks alike.

Other the last day, Ethereum, Solana, and Dogecoin have all jumped by about 7%, beating Bitcoin’s own daily gain.

Ethereum currently sits at $2,662, pushing its monthly gain to a whopping 56%, while Solana is priced at $179 (up 24% this month) and Dogecoin has barked its way up to $0.242 for a nearly 41% spike in the last 30 days.



Looking broadly to the top 100 coins by market cap, the biggest gainers over the past day are Worldcoin (WORLD), up 36% and propelled by a sizable $135 million token sale announced Wednesday, along with the HYPE token of decentralized exchange Hyperliquid (up 23%) and rising meme coin Fartcoin with its 17% climb.

With Trump’s tariffs on tech leading the PC gaming industry in uncertainty around potential price hikes, HTC Vive is taking advantage of the situation with a special sale. This gives anyone who didn’t manage to get themselves fully kitted out in some of the best VR machines on offer the chance to do so at pre-tariff prices. It’s a smart move, turning the impending price hikes into an opportunity for one last taste of affordable gaming for those in the US.

While we’ve definitely seen tech prices go up due to the tariffs, it’s worth noting we don’t know exactly how much HTC intends to price things in the future. As such, how much of a deal these regularly priced pieces of tech end up being is up in the air.

“Order by 5/31, we’ll cover the tariff cost!” boasts Vive’s sale site. Essentially it’s a sale, but for the prices you’d’ have expected to see before these announced taxes. The sale covers the Vive Focus Vision, Vive Ultimate Tracker 3+1 Kit, Vive Tracker (3.0), and the Base Station 2.0. This should let most people get setup for a full VR experience, or just grab those last bits before having to pay the extra on top.

For those brand new to VR, the Vive Focus Vision might be the way to go. It’s the latest headset from Vive and works as a PC headset as well as a standalone VR machine. This means you can go via display port and have a wicked high fidelity experience with a capable PC connected or just go lite mode with what will run on the headset. It also offers mixed reality, eye tracking, and additional tracker support.

If you compare to the potentially more commonly owned Meta’s Quest 3 headset, it’s similar but more feature complete. Realy, the Vive Focus Vision looks more like what the Apple Vision Pro headset was claiming to be, only probably good. It currently goes for $999 on the website, so you’ve got until the end of the month if you want to pick it up before that price goes up.

The Vive Ultimate Tracker 3+1 Kit is a set of accessories that allows you to track more of your body than the standard setup. This one needs to be paired with a SteamVR compatible headset and controllers, so is better as an augment to a current setup, or an addon to the Vive Focus Vision. Once set up, it lets you track your head, hands, waist, and feet without lag. It’s worth being aware that the benefit of something like this will depend on the games you’re looking to play too. You can pick this up in the not-quite-a-sale sale for $599.

If that seems like a bit of overkill for your setup, then there’s the Vive Tracker (3.0). This is a cheaper tracker that works with base station-compatible headsets and allows you to replace controllers with your body movement. Again it’ll depend on what you’re playing and your setup as to whether or not this is worthwhile, but you can pick it up for $129 until the 31st.

Lastly, there’s the Base Station 2.0, which works with Vive Pro Series and Cosmos Elite headsets. This allows for higher precision wide-area tracking of up to Up to 1000 sq. ft, so it’s a good bet for those that have a whole room setup for their VR gaming shenanigans. This one is priced at $199, but at time of writing doesn’t appear to be in stock on the HTC website.

Whether or not Vive’s lineup is what you’re looking for in a headset, this sale makes a good point. If you’re looking to get into VR, or any other kind of gaming tech, it might be worth doing so before price hikes take hold if they haven’t already. Hopefully we’ll see some other companies follow in HTC’s footsteps here and offer some tariff sales to help offset the sudden shock these price hikes are likely to bring to the wallets of the general public.
