Borderlands 4 Finally Introduces Harlowe, The Team’s Own Mad Scientist

by admin August 24, 2025

The Borderlands series is well known for many things, including its emphasis on co-op, unique visual style, and humor, but it is also quite famous for its distinct player characters, who often use advanced tech or psychic superpowers to lay waste to enemies. Harlowe, one of Borderlands 4’s new playable characters, is no different, and Gearbox has finally provided some insight into how they play.

Harlowe has a bunch of toys at their disposal considering their past as a combat scientist for Maliwan, one of the Borderlands universe’s weapons manufacturers. They seem to be particularly great at using this high-tech weaponry for crowd control, often debuffing or straight up incapacitating enemies to create advantages for themself and their team.

For example, one of Harlowe’s main abilities is the Chroma Accelerator, which fires an unstable ball of energy that drifts forward and plows through crowds, all the while dealing cryo damage to anyone it floats past. Harlowe players can also detonate it an anytime to deal radiation damage or seemingly wait for it to burst on impact. This skill can be further upgraded to bounce haphazardly between enemies, store damage overtime to be dealt when it eventually explodes, and it can even be given a greater gravitational pull.

Harlowe can also throw out a flux generator that emits an freezing energy field, and enemies that are caught in it are also entangled. This means that other enemies with the same debuff share weapon and skill damage dealt to them, like a chain effect. Additionally, it can gain a slew of new properties, including a greater radius, secondary area-of-effect triggers, and can even be used to simultaneously buff teammates and debuff enemies.

Harlowe’s flashiest tool appears to be their Zero-Point ability, which suspends enemies in mid-air via a colorful, high-tech bubble. They can fire upon enemies trapped in them, but they can also press the action skill button again to slam these foes in whatever direction Harlowe is facing, which sounds like something I may never tire of. It can also be upgraded to provide healing to Harlowe or their teammates, attract ricocheting bullets to suspended enemies, or create a singularity and subsequent cryo explosion upon slamming an opponent in a bubble.

If you want to start planning your Harlowe builds, there is already a preview of their skill trees available, but you also won’t have to wait too long to play the game for yourself. After all, Borderlands 4 is releasing on September 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Switch 2 port coming about a month later on October 3.

Black Ops 7 brings back wallrunning, and introduces an unusual endgame mode to the campaign

Black Ops 7 brings back wallrunning, and introduces an unusual endgame mode to the campaign

by admin August 20, 2025

We’ve been expecting today’s reveal, of course, ever since Activision confirmed back in July that Black Ops 7 would be part of Opening Night Live’s line-up this year. This is technically the game’s second “reveal”, because its first outing was at the very end of the Xbox Showcase back in June.

Today’s showcase was a lot more detailed, offering a look at gameplay that went beyond just a simple teaser of the game’s setting.

First things first, the leaked November release date turned out to be accurate. Black Ops 7 is set for launch on November 14. As for today’s reveal, its focus was mainly on the larger systems, features, and new mechanics arriving with the game. As previously announced, the co-op campaign (four-player) returns, but Treyarch is adding a pretty unusual twist to that.

The campaign’s final mission is what the developer calls Endgame, and it’s essentially a replayable, open-world section with some RPG and extraction elements. You get to customise your loadout and take on missions and other challenges within runs, where you can also level up and earn new abilities.

We also got a look at some of the futuristic weaponry we’ll be able to wield, and a few of the locations we’re going to be visiting. There’s a big emphasis on movement in Black Ops 7, which builds on Black Ops 6’s Omnimovement system with new possibilities, including the return of wallrunning.

Round-based Zombies is a core feature of the game, of course. This year, you can look forward to vehicle-based gameplay, as well as the return of Survival maps. Multiplayer was touched on, but the full reveal won’t arrive until Call of Duty: Next on September 30. There’s going to be a beta following that, too, taking place October 2-8.

Black Ops 7’s story takes place in the near future, a decade after the events of Black Ops 2. The game is the first consecutive Black Ops release in Call of Duty history, following last year’s Black Ops 6.

As beloved as the Black Ops name is, however, this year’s game faces tough competition in the form of Battlefield 6, a game whose beta has been breaking records throughout the month, overtaking even the most popular Call of Duty release on Steam.

There’s still a lot yet to be revealed for Black Ops 7, but community sentiment so far has been a lot more in favour of Battlefield 6 over it. Call of Duty rarely misses, though, and even with it does, it still manages to be the best-selling game in the year of its release.

Shiba Inu Integration With Chainlink Introduces A New Way To Burn SHIB

by admin August 18, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has taken a significant step toward strengthening its ecosystem through its integration with Chainlink (LINK). The update introduces a new way to burn SHIB directly on Ethereum with every cross-chain transaction. This ensures that the cryptocurrency remains true to its ETH-native roots while expanding its presence across various blockchains.

Chainlink CCIP Introduces New SHIB Burn Method

Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is now part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, marking a major move to boost its connectivity and expand utility across multiple networks. This integration not only reinforces SHIB’s position as an Ethereum-native asset but also creates an entirely new mechanism for burning tokens across multiple chains.

Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya emphasized in an X social media post on August 16 that SHIB’s foundation will always remain on Ethereum, with every move developed and audited in collaboration with the Chainlink team. He also noted that new pathways now exist for builders who want to deploy Shiba Inu on other chains such as Base, XX, or Solana.

Moreover, through the Chainlink CCIP version of SHIB, developers can seamlessly move tokens across different blockchains while triggering burns that feed directly back into Ethereum. This ensures that every cross-chain transfer contributes to reducing Shiba Inu’s considerable circulating supply.

Dhairya also revealed that this new system was designed not just for SHIB but also for the ecosystem’s tokens, including BONE, LEASH, and TREAT, delivering a comprehensive burn mechanism that benefits all corners of the crypto network. Beyond token burns, Shiba Inu’s official partnership with Chainlink in 2024 has also brought additional technological advancements.

Ecosystem tokens like SHIB, BONE, and LEASH have already adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, while ShibariumNet has integrated CCiP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure. Collectively, these innovations demonstrate that Shiba Inu is not only focused on community-driven token burns but also on building a scalable infrastructure that can compete with leading decentralized networks.

For the Shiba Inu community, the new burn mechanism marks a fresh era of growth and connectivity. Token burns have always been an integral part of Shiba Inu’s long-term value proposition, and the new Chainlink CCIP model streamlines this process, making it more efficient and scalable across multiple networks.

Shiba Inu Records Massive Weekly Burn

In a different X post, the Shibburn tracker announced that the past seven days have witnessed a staggering 158.7 million SHIB destroyed, reflecting a surge of over 1,047% compared to the prior week. This rise in burn rate indicates renewed enthusiasm in the community and heightened activity from individuals and projects committed to reducing supply.

In the last 24 hours, Shibburn also reported that more than 29.3 million SHIB tokens were burned, representing a 4.14% increase in daily destruction rates. CoinMarketCap data shows that SHIB’s price dropped over 4.5% in a single day, yet these burn figures demonstrate the community’s continued commitment to reducing excess supply.

Corsair introduces cheaper PC case fans with ‘reverse rotors’ which help those LEDs shine without obstruction

by admin June 26, 2025

RS-R ARGB Fans – Elevate Your PC’s Cooling and Style – YouTube

Watch On

RGB lighting and PC gaming are kind of synonymous, and I for one think it’s pretty cool. Sure, it can often be a lot but I love a hot rig with some sick coloured lights pulsing away inside. Some of the first decorative lights I ever got for my machine were by the way of cooling fans, and I distinctly remember feeling a weird swelling of PC gamer pride the first time I installed them.

Case lighting has come a long way since those dark ages, and that includes fans, with Corsair bringing out its new RS-R Series fans that are built differently with lighting needs in mind.

The new RS-R Series fans are touted as being a great solution for both aesthetic lighting and functional cooling. They feature eight addressable RGB LEDs in each fan, and boast controllable PWM cooling that can up to 65.8 CFM. Both of which can be controlled straight from the software on your motherboard, which they attach to using a single 4-pin PWM connector and one +5V ARGB header.

Related articles

You can also daisy chain a bunch of these to run in series, so it should be a relatively easy cabling operation to kit out a case full of these fans. This setup also means you should be able to get the full force of these windmakers without requiring any additional installations or controllers.

Corsair’s iCue Link fans are our top picks when it comes to airflow that looks good while keeping your PC cool, but these may be a step up. Not having to delve into the iCue software to get these 120mm round bois just how you like them will be a godsend.

The headline feature for these new fans, however, is their reverse rotor. This means they can be oriented within your chassis as an intake without having the fan casing obsructing the lighting and making your funky fishbowl build look too industrial. The standard design for case fans means that is you’re using one as an exhaust then from the inside of the case you will just see the fan itself, in all its RGB glory. Turn it around to bring air in, however, and the plastic struts which give the fan housing its rigidity get it in the way of the pretties.

These reverse rotor fans, then, are designed for your intakes when you’re organising the airflow of your chassis. These aren’t the first fans from Corsair to sport the reverse rotor advantage, but they are much cheaper than what was on offer before. They’re also not the only fans to offer the feature; we used Phanteks’ reverse fans when we built The Rig for the PC Gaming Show this year.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

That fine control, and even the ability to run at Zero RPM for ultra quiet standby computing do make for an appealing argument. They also feature magnetic dome bearings for minimal friction, and should have a fair amount of longevity for it. Corsair seems to think so to, offering a five-year warranty on the RS-Rs, which is always great for peace of mind.

The new RS-Rs case fans come in packs of three, in both black and white frame colours to help match your case aesthetics. Naturally you can pick the LED colours when you get them installed to help do the rest. They’re available now, and look to be going for around $60 USD a pack.

XRP Ledger Introduces Update 2.5.0 to Rival Ethereum, Solana

by admin June 25, 2025

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has rolled out a powerful new software update version 2.5.0 bringing major improvements to the network. This upgrade marks a big step forward for XRPL, as it aims to compete directly with Ethereum and Solana.

Batch transactions are one of the most awaited features of this update. This means that enterprises will be able to make mass payments and distribute tokens more effectively, which opens real use cases to institutions.

New XRP Ledger Software Update 2.5.0 is out! This is how the new update will push the XRP Ledger forward ✅ –

Long awaited new amendments:

🔹Batch transactions.
🔹Token escrow (RLUSD, memes, treasuries etc).
🔹Premissioned DEX (P-Domain is in voting) so that institutions can… pic.twitter.com/kIGrLjvBhE

— Vet (@Vet_X0) June 24, 2025

The other significant new feature is token escrow, which enables safe and automated payouts, which are perfect in vesting schedules and dApp deposit management.

The update also adds permissioned decentralized exchange (DEX) and permission delegation, which provide developers greater control and flexibility. Together with these features, version 2.5.0 addresses a number of bugs, particularly those related to NFT trustlines and RPC responses, making the network faster and more stable overall.

Vet, a popular XRPL validator, commended the upgrade as one that made the XRPL faster, efficient, and more reliable. In May, RippleX engineer Mayukha Vadari said this version would assist XRPL in competing with major chains such as Ethereum and Solana, and it is already paying off.

There is a boom in network activity. Daily addresses on XRPL increased 7x and whale wallets reached a new record. Ethereum and Solana experience decelerating activity and capital outflow, whereas XRP is gaining momentum.

The upgrade saw the token rise by almost 6 percent to trade at $2.17 and recover the losses incurred on Sunday. XRPL is still in its infancy with giants such as CME Group, Uphold, and Ondo Finance keeping a keen eye on the project.

Ledger Introduces Physical ‘Recovery Key’ NFC Backup for Wallets

by admin June 24, 2025

In brief

  • Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has launched a physical “Recovery Key” for its Stax and Flex devices.
  • The NFC-equipped device stores a recovery key in a secure element.
  • Users can tap the key against their hardware wallet and enter a PIN to recover their wallet.

Ledger has introduced a new type of backup that it calls a “spare key” for your crypto wallet.

The Ledger Recovery Key works with the Ledger Flex and Ledger Stax wallets as a way to recover access to your assets.

The Recovery Key incorporates NFC connectivity alongside a Secure Element that stores a PIN-protected backup key.

Once paired with a Ledger Flex or Ledger Stax hardware wallet, users can recover their crypto wallets by tapping the card against the device and entering a PIN.

The device launches alongside “reviewable code and a whitepaper, as part of our commitment to transparency,” said Charles Guillemet, Chief Technology Officer at Ledger, in a statement shared with Decrypt. The Recovery Key has “gone through extensive security testing” with Ledger’s white hat hacking team, the Donjon, alongside “comprehensive internal testing and external security audits.”

The firm bills it as a safe way to recover your assets that’s simpler than the traditional 24-word seed phrase.

It doesn’t eliminate the seed phrase entirely, though, acting as a layer on top of it for more convenient access.

This isn’t Ledger’s first attempt at simplifying the wallet recovery process. In 2023, it launched the Ledger Recover subscription service, which sparked a fierce backlash from its userbase over concerns that it constituted a security risk.

The new Recovery key is “designed for optionality,” a Ledger spokesperson told Decrypt. “Ledger is not taking away the 24 words, as it’s important to have a master key, but it will watch user usage and feedback over time,” they added. “Ledger now has the broadest suite of recovery options available, designed to meet the needs of as many users as possible without compromising on security.”

The card-based recovery technique is similar to that of the Cypherrock X1 hardware wallet, which Decrypt recently reviewed. However, Ledger was keen to differentiate its offering from the competition. “Cypherock’s X1 cards are not firmware upgradeable, which means if a vulnerability is ever found, it is completely impossible to fix that vulnerability,” the Ledger spokesperson told Decrypt, adding that its own hardware is “always upgradeable to prevent new sophisticated attacks.”

The spokesperson added that Ledger’s devices are the only hardware wallets to feature a secure screen. “The secure element that performs cryptographic operations also powers the screen, so you can be sure what you see is what you sign,” they explained. “Transactions on Ledger can only be signed on the device with the secure screen, and Ledger Recovery Key is only used for secure backup and recovery of your seed phrase.”

The Ledger Recovery Key will be available “in the near future.”

by admin June 23, 2025

  • Mysterious new SHIB core dev introduced by Kusama
  • New SHIB milestone announced by Shytoshi Kusama

Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, known to the community as Lucie, has published the contents of the new episode of the podcast hosted by the mysterious SHIB lead Shytoshi Kusama.

The podcast is called “Shy Speaks Shib” and Kusama invites various guests there to interview them. This time, the guest is a pseudonymous core developer from the SHIB team — “Jon Doe.”

Lucie announced that episode 5 of this podcast is now live on Spotify.

The core SHIB developer introduced by Kusama works under the pseudonym “Jon Doe,” a fictitious name often used for an unknown or pseudonymous person in the U.S. (typically with an “h” in John). Lucie tweeted that this dev has kept a low profile, while making important contributions to SHIB’s technical future in real time.

Along with other developers, he has been working on the foundational tools of Dev Portal, as well as on the Alpha Layer, which is currently running in beta. The Alpha Layer of Shibarium allows any user to create a custom blockchain in merely minutes and offers many other opportunities.

“His work is unlocking new possibilities for developers at every level,” Lucie’s tweet says.

The two SHIB developers compared the achievements and development milestones (in engineering, agriculture, knowledge-sharing) of ancient civilizations, namely, ancient Egypt and early Mesoamerican societies, to the modern Web3 movement. The profound idea expressed by Kusama was: “When the moment is right, the right idea always arrives.”

Love and Deepspace’s latest update introduces a new story for Rafayel, making him the first character to get a third Myth lore drop

by admin June 17, 2025

Today marks the start of a major new Memory Pair event in Love and Deepspace, the mobile dating sim people can’t stop talking about. The new event is called Submerged Eclipse, kicks off today, and will be available until July 1.

That’s a pretty lengthy runtime for a limited-time event, but there’s plenty of new content to unlock in this one, especially for fans of Rafayel.

Submerged Eclipse tells a story about the Sea God and his bride, and marks the debut of Rafayel’s Lemurian Sea God Companion form. In case you haven’t already caught on, this one is all about Rafayel.

This is the third Myth pair for Rafayel, who is now the first character in Love and Deepspace to get a third Myth dedicated to them. Until now, each character got a Myth pair as part of the standard banner, and another one in a limited-time event.

Since all existing characters already have two Myths, Love and Deepspace fans were expecting the sixth love interest character to be added soon, but it looks like the plan now includes expanding on the lore of existing characters.

Submerged Eclipse introduces two limited 5-Star Solar-slot Memories. You have Rafayel: Mistsea Descent and Rafayel: Mistsea Lament. You can get them through a special event Wish Pool, and you’re guaranteed both at 150 gacha pulls.

Rafayel’s new Companion, Lemurian Sea God, is unlocked after obtaining both. You’ll also be able to claim a new 3-Star Memory titled, Distant Prayer, as well as a 4-Star Memory Pair titled Tidefall Waves, and Tidefall Allure for free via the Merling Oath.

There’s a new combat outfit for Rafayel, too, which gives him the Lemurian Sea God look – complete with new dialogue and animations. As for the new myth, Tears of Romirro, it’s available to read in game today. It tells an original story of the Sea God and his imprisoned bride.

Beyond that, the new update also doubles the rewards for Core Hunt missions, and adds the next round of Hunter Contest (v9.1). Fans of Zayne will also find a new daily check-in campaign for the fella.

Once again, you have until Tuesday, July 1 to take part. For an idea of what you can expect, watch the video embedded above. If you’re new to his hot dating sim, we have a few resources that break down concepts like Memory Pairs for new players, and explain what banner events are and how they work.
