Silent Hill 2 PS5 Pro patch still on the way, says Bloober

by admin May 31, 2025

Bloober Team is still working on a PS5 Pro patch for Silent Hill 2 to improve performance.

The horror game remake received a patch for Sony’s more powerful console last year, but players were quick to point out technical issues across social media. A patch was released two weeks after the console’s release addressing graphical glitches, but issues have remained.

Players have been left waiting for further improvements, with fans on reddit presuming the studio had given up on fixes. But a Bloober has confirmed to Eurogamer it’s still working to improve performance.

In a statement to Eurogamer, Bloober said: “We’re working with the publisher on a solution and will share more details as soon as we have them.”

It’s unknown when a solution will be patched in, but it’s comforting to know it is being worked on after all. We’ll of course keep you updated.

In its technical review of Silent Hill 2 on PS5 Pro, Digital Foundry stated it had “glaring image stability issues not found on the standard PlayStation 5”, as well as “troubled PSSR upscaling implementation”.

Said one player at launch: “It’s really scummy to advertise a game as Pro Enhanced when it actually plays worse than the base unit.”

Still, the game itself received a positive reaction from critics. “Against the odds, Bloober Team has delivered a remake that both expands Silent Hill 2 in just the right places, and gives careful attention to what it preserves,” reads our Eurogamer Silent Hill 2 review.

It went on to sell a million copies in under a week.

New Season 14 King Of The Hill Intro Implies A Lot Has Changed

by admin May 31, 2025

King of the Hill is back. The popular animated sitcom from Mike Judge is returning for a 14th season on Hulu. But, as shown in the show’s new intro sequence, a lot has changed in Arlen, Texas.

Firefight’s Back In Halo! What Is Firefight?

The original King of the Hill ran on Fox from 1997 to 2009. In that time, it produced 13 seasons and over 250 episodes. The first talks of reviving the grounded adult animated sitcom started back in 2017, before Disney had bought 2oth Century Fox. Now, nearly a decade after we first heard about a possible King of the Hill revival and over 15 years after the show ended, Hank Hill and his family and friends will be returning to TV with 10 new episodes in August.

On May 30, Hulu released the new intro sequence for the show’s 14th season. While it features the same music and uses the same time-lapse format as seen in the OG show’s opening, this new sequence implies a lot has happened over the last 15 years.

There are a lot of little details to spot in the intro, including Bill potentially getting COVID-19, Dale running for mayor, and someone moving into Hank’s home for a few years while he and the family are away.

And here’s Hulu’s official description of the returning show and its 14th season:

“After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.”

King of the Hill’s 14th season arrives on Hulu on August 4.

Konami reveals Silent Hill f is “independent of the series”

by admin May 21, 2025

It’s Silent Hill, but not that Silent Hill. Konami finally admitted Silent Hill F isn’t a sequel.

Konami has spoken, and the verdict is in: Silent Hill f isn’t a sequel, just a totally standalone spinoff. So if you were clinging to the hope that it’d stitch together the mess left behind by Downpour or Homecoming… yeah, time to let go.

Set in 1960s rural Japan, Silent Hill f takes a sharp detour from the foggy American town fans know and dread. The game introduces us to Hinako Shimizu, a bullied schoolgirl with major trauma, vanishing friends, and a run-in with ominous fog. Oh, and flowers. Lots of them. Blooming in all the wrong ways.

There’s still the psychological horror. Still the eerie atmosphere. Still the potential for cults doing horrible cult things. But it’s all wrapped in a brand-new story that doesn’t touch the tangled lore of Pyramid Head and company.

Konami says Silent Hill f is “independent of the series”

Konami made it official on X, saying:

“This is a completely new work, independent of the series. Even those who have never played Silent Hill can enjoy this game.”

The Silent Hill franchise kicked off in 1999 with fog, fear, and daddy issues, courtesy of Team Silent. Silent Hill 2 earned high praise from critics and players alike Then came sequels, spinoffs, and a slow, painful decline when Western studios took the wheel.

Now Konami’s trying to resurrect the brand, Frankenstein-style, by launching a whole multiverse of titles: remakes, new stories, and global settings. Some smart bets (hello, Silent Hill 2 remake), some weird ones (lookin’ at you, Short Message). And Silent Hill f, might just be their boldest move yet: no baggage, just fresh terror.

No release date has dropped yet. But with Anime Expo hitting Los Angeles in July, we might just get our next creepy clue soon.
