Project Spectrum | Official Announcement Trailer – YouTube

Watch On

Project Spectrum is an upcoming “tactical thriller shooter” revealed tonight at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live that sets players off into Ember Zones, where “unspeakable horrors await.”

I’ll cut right to the chase: There’s not a whole lot to go on here. Project Spectrum is a “physiological horror PvEvP game, where you battle against monsters, other players, and your own sanity, as widespread anomalies twist around the world,” ONL host Geoff Keighley said, and you can see that in the trailer: A special ops team descends into a haunted house of some sort, and after things go rather badly a lone survivor is asked, “What if you are the beast?”

An interesting proposition indeed, which takes us back to the house and a spooky transformation into some kind of interdimensional spider, which then seemingly gives the business to another spec ops guy. Why? It’s hard to tell.

In a subsequent press release, developer Team Jade—the studio behind the Delta Force reboot—revealed a little bit more about the game, which takes place in a world devastated by a “radiant, reality-warping force” called the Ember.

“Everything it touches—cities, landscapes, even life itself—is transformed in unknowable ways, leaving behind dangerous regions called Ember Zones,” the studio said. “Players take the role of an Operator, leading high-risk missions into Ember Zones—recruiting and managing a customizable squad of elite Agents, who they ultimately play as to obtain intelligence, neutralize threats, and uncover the secrets of the Ember.

“Every moment in the game is highly dynamic as players face monstrosities created by the Ember, other hostile Agents, and the psychological tolls imposed by the twisted environment. Players must fight back through building and customizing their Agents, utilizing coordinated team synergy, environmental awareness, and creative, improvised item crafting — all while remaining mindful of their Sanity, a crucial resource that depletes easily, and of Executioners roaming the world: powerful beings with unmatched agility and strength controlled by other players.”

Project Spectrum isn’t currently on Steam but there is a website up at spectrum-project, which unfortunately doesn’t have much to see either. But I think Team Jade’s participation makes it worth paying attention to. Delta Force has a “mixed” user rating on Steam, but it’s also routinely pulling in well over 100,000 concurrent players every day, so it sure seems like the developers are doing something right. If they can bring that same magic to Project Spectrum, who knows? It could prove to be a surprise banger.

New SILENT HILL f Trailer features English voiceovers for the first time

by admin August 19, 2025

Silent Hill f is a new entry in the iconic psychological horror series that follows Hinako Shimizu (voiced by Konatsu Kato in Japanese and Suzie Yeung in English) as her secluded hometown of Ebisugaoka, Japan becomes consumed by mysterious fog that transforms her familiar surroundings into a nightmarish landscape.

Created by renowned author Ryukishi07 with music by longtime Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, the game challenges players to navigate the twisted, fog-covered town while solving complex puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters to survive.

The story explores themes of “doubt, regret, and inescapable choices” with a central focus on finding “beauty in terror,” as players must determine whether Hinako will discover the hidden beauty within the horror or succumb to the madness that surrounds her. This new chapter in the Silent Hill series blends traditional psychological horror with a haunting Japanese setting, promising an atmospheric experience that distinguishes it from previous Western-developed entries in the franchise. I can’t wait!

A terrifying new story trailer for SILENT HILL f featuring the English voice-acting cast for the first time has just emerged from the fog during gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase.  When Hinako Shimizu’s secluded town of Ebisugaoka is consumed by a sudden fog, her once-familiar home becomes a haunting nightmare. As the town falls silent and the fog thickens, Hinako must navigate the twisted paths of Ebisugaoka, solving complex puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters to survive.

SILENT HILL f releases Sept. 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games, and Microsoft Windows. You can now pre-order the Standard and Deluxe editions for both digital and physical versions. For more news on SILENT HILL f, stay tuned to GamingTrend!

Silent Hill 2 Film Adaptation ‘Return To Silent Hill’ Gets January Premiere Date

by admin June 21, 2025

Return to Silent Hill, the next film adaptation of Konami’s popular horror franchise, will premiere in January, according to a recent report by Deadline. The movie was first announced to be in production in October 2022 during the first Silent Hill Transmission.

Return to Silent Hill is being directed and co-written by Christophe Gans, who directed the 2006 Silent Hill film. The project also boasts a soundtrack composed by long-time series composer Akira Yamaoka. The movie is an adaptation of Silent Hill 2, which was remade in 2024, and centers on protagonist James Sunderland receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary, urging him to find her in the foggy, monster-infested town of Silent Hill. Despite being the third film adaptation of the franchise and the first since 2012’s Silent Hill: Revelation, Return to Silent Hill is not connected to the previous movies.

The cast includes Jeremy Irvine as James, Hannah Emily Anderson as both Mary Sunderland and Maria, and Evie Templeton as Laura. You can check out the film’s original 2022 teaser (complete with commentary from Gans) below. Return to Silent Hill is set to premiere in theaters on January 23.

It’s been an eventful time for the Silent Hill franchise. Konami recently announced that a remake of the first game is in the works. Meanwhile, the next mainline entry, Silent Hill f, got a new gameplay trailer and a September release date during a State of Play this month.

Christophe Gans’ Silent Hill 2 movie adaptation gets a release date

by admin June 18, 2025

Following last year’s slam-dunk Silent Hill 2 remake, the beloved survival horror sequel is being reinterpreted yet again, this time in the form of new movie adaptation Return to Silent Hill. And now, three years after its announcement, it’s been given a release date of 23rd January 2026.

Return to Silent Hill was originally unveiled in 2022, alongside a variety of gaming projects including the unloved Silent Hill: Ascension, Bloober Team’s masterful Silent Hill 2 remake, the upcoming Silent Hill f, and No Code’s still-mysterious Silent Hill Townfall.

Amid that flurry of gaming news, Return to Silent Hill was perhaps a little lost in the throng, but the key bit of information was that it would see Christophe Gans take on directing duties once more. Gans, of course, previously helmed 2006’s Sean-Bean-starring original Silent Hill movie, which certainly captured the game series’ atmosphere – even if it did all start to fall apart in the last stretch, when it suddenly decided it needed to explain itself in a ham-fisted exposition dump that even some high-velocity barbed wire couldn’t save.

Return to Silent Hill teaser trailer.Watch on YouTube

Since Return to Silent Hill’s initial unveiling, it’s been confirmed War Horse’s Jeremy Irvine will star as Silent Hill 2 protagonist James, with Hannah Emily Anderson in the role of his “one true love” Mary (an early leak suggested the two won’t be married in this version). More recently, Gans insisted his adaptation would be a “faithful” one, although a careful reading of the movie’s synopsis does imply some potentially notable changes:

“James, a man broken after his relationship with the love of his life, Mary, ends,” reads the official synopsis. “When a mysterious letter from her calls him back to Silent Hill, he finds a once-recognisable town transformed by an unknown evil. While James desperately searches for Mary he encounters terrifying creatures and begins to unravel the mystery of what happened to the town. But as he descends deeper into the darkness the secrets he uncovers lead to a horrifying truth, and James finds himself struggling to hold on long enough to save his one true love.”

We’ll know if Return to Silent Hill does its source material justice when it hits the big screen on 23rd January next year. However it ends up, Bloober’s remake – which has now sold over 2m copies – is a fine way to experience a bonafide gaming classic. And the studio is about to do it all over again, as it embarks on its recently announced remake of Silent Hill 1.

That Silent Hill 2 Movie Will Hit Theaters In January 2026

by admin June 18, 2025

Return to Silent Hill, the next live-action Hollywood adaptation of the hit survival horror series, is set to arrive in theaters next year. There hasn’t been much news about the film in some time, with some wondering if it was going to be dumped on streaming services. But nope, it’s still coming to theaters.

A Typical Day On Persona 3 Reload’s Tatsumi Port Island

Let’s rewind a bit, because I feel like a lot of people might not even be aware that a third (!) Silent Hill movie is happening. In fact, it already happened. Return to Silent Hill has been done for a bit now, after it wrapped up shooting in 2023. It’s directed and co-written by Christophe Gans, the same guy who directed the weirdly good original Silent Hill film from 2006. This new film isn’t connected to that movie or the less popular 2012 sequel film, Silent Hill: Revelation. Instead, Return to Silent Hill is a standalone movie based heavily on Silent Hill 2.

On June 18, Deadline revealed that Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting, and Iconic Events Releasing—the same trio of companies responsible for Terrifier 3—are bringing Return to Silent Hill to theaters. The horror film will be released on January 23, which does make me nervous, as that’s historically the month when movie studios and production companies dump bad films into cinemas.

There is no trailer for the movie yet, but here’s an old teaser from 2022:

“Return to Silent Hill hits theaters at the perfect time,” said Mark Rupp, CFO/COO and co-founder of Iconic Events Releasing. “[It arrives after the] successful recent launch of the Silent Hill 2 game remake that the movie is based on, while also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the start of the horror film franchise.”

Yeah, that makes me even more nervous. The fact that the main reason this thing is getting a theatrical release is because the recent Silent Hill 2 remake did so well doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Regardless, in January 2026, we are getting a live-action adaptation of Silent Hill 2. If Return to Silent Hill turns out to be bad, well, at least we’ve got a bunch of Silent Hill games and remakes to play these days.

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto says ‘as the series progressed, I felt that the essence of Japanese horror was lost’

by admin June 15, 2025

While the big news out of Konami’s Press Start event was the welcome announcement that Bloober Team is remaking the original Silent Hill, there was also a substantial behind-the-scenes segment on the upcoming Silent Hill F, which we’ll see a lot sooner than a remake Konami didn’t even have footage of.

Silent Hill F is a prequel set in Showa-era Japan. Which isn’t the first time Silent Hill has left the town it’s named after—the opening of Silent Hill 3, for instance—but is taking a much further trip, all the way to a small town called Ebisugaoka.

“Silent Hill was a series that fused the essence of western horror and Japanese horror,” series producer Motoi Okamoto said, “but as the series progressed, I felt that the essence of Japanese horror was lost. I began to feel a desire to create a Silent Hill with 100% essence of Japanese-style horror.”

Related articles

Part of what makes Silent Hill unique is that it’s inspired by so much American horror—the books of Stephen King, movies like Jacob’s Ladder—but viewed through a Japanese lens. It has streets named after Dean Koontz, Robert Bloch, Richard Bachman, and Ira Levin, but also borrows from the books of Ryū Murakami and Kōbō Abe, and the monsters you encounter there and the otherworld you travel to have designs that feel like a Japanese take on Clive Barker via David Lynch.

“The hallmark of Japanese horror is not simply grotesqueness but the coexistence of beauty and the disturbing,” Okamoto went on to say. “We are creating this title with the concept ‘find the beauty in terror’.”

Al Yang, game director at Silent Hill F development studio Neobards, elaborated on that. “As a key concept in Silent Hill F is the idea of beauty in terror. We created our visual designs to have a distinct uneasiness to them, but also have a horrific charm that would make it so you just couldn’t stop staring.” Those designs are based on concepts by Japanese artist Kera, who has worked on Spirit Hunter: NG and Magic: The Gathering.

Given how poorly received most of the Silent Hill games made by American studios have been—especially Homecoming, with its ex-Special Forces protagonist making a sharp contrast to the ordinary people previously featured in the series—having a sequel that’s as Japanese as it can be makes sense. Though I might miss oddities like having a school level based on visual reference taken from Kindergarten Cop.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Studio Now Remaking The Original Game

Silent Hill 2 Remake Studio Now Remaking The Original Game

by admin June 14, 2025

Image: Konami / Kotaku

Soon we shall return to the foggy and creepy streets of Silent Hill as Konami has confirmed that a remake of the original PlayStation-era horror game is in development.

This Narrative Adventure About Doomed Teenage Dinosaurs Feels Too Real

On June 12, during Konami’s Press Start Live event, the publisher announced that Bloober Team, the studio behind 2024’s excellent Silent Hill 2 remake, is now working its magic on a remake of the original Silent Hill, a game first released over 25 years ago.

The official Silent Hill Twitter account just tweeted out a teaser with a cryptic message and the original game’s music. However, the franchise’s Japanese account shared a bit more info on the project and 100 percent confirmed that, yes, Bloober is remaking the OG Silent Hill.

“Silent Hill Remake in Development. We are working with Bloober Team on a remake of Silent Hill, originally released on PlayStation in 1999. Please watch the video with audio. Stay tuned for more details in future updates,” posted Konami, as translated by Google.

And…that’s all we know right now. There’s no release date yet, not even a hint was given by Konami. That makes sense as the game is likely very early in development, so perhaps don’t expect this one for a few years.

Still, Silent Hill fans likely don’t mind waiting a bit for a Bloober remake. The studio’s Silent Hill 2 recreation was released to near-universal praise from critics and fans, and went on to sell a ton of copies for Konami.

Meanwhile, the Silent Hill fanbase is finally eating well after years and years of neglect: Last year we had that release of Silent Hill 2 remake, and this September sees the release of the brand new entry in the series, Silent Hill F. There’s also Annapurna Interactive’s Silent Hill Townfall in development, too. And now a full-on remake of the OG game that started it all. The next few years are going to be good for Silent Hill fans. Honestly, they deserve it.

When is Hank Hill coming to Fortnite?

When is Hank Hill coming to Fortnite?

by admin June 13, 2025

He sells propane, propane accessories, and… Fortnite skins?

That’s right, King of the Hill’s Hank Hill is coming to Fortnite for Father’s Day, alongside Family Guy’s Cleveland Brown and Bob’s Burgers’ Bob Belcher. They’ll all be available as skins in the Fortnite shop.

On Wednesday, the official Fortnite X account teased Hank’s upcoming arrival to the game with a single picture, showing Hill’s classic white shirt, brown belt combo, and blue jeans (covering a diminished glute), posing a simple question: “Did we get it right?” This stoked several days of speculation among the Fortnite community that Hank would appear in Fortnite, likely in the time for Father’s Day.

Epic unveiled a trailer Friday featuring Hank, Cleveland, and Bob playing a game of Fortnite, with Bob pleading with the other two characters to revive him. Unfortunately for Bob, Cleveland can’t help himself from hitting the griddy while Hank is busy drinking beer outside, away from his headset and controller.

Hank, Cleveland, and Bob will arrive Friday, June 13. (The Fortnite shop resets at midnight GMT, or 8 p.m. EDT.)

The Fox cartoons collaboration will feature all three characters and will be variably priced within the item shop, available as various bundles at the following price points:

Like other Fortnite bundles, these come with a special pickaxe and back bling for each character. For example, Cleveland comes with a mailbox pickaxe, referencing the character’s job as a postal worker, in addition to a satchel of mail as his back bling.

Fortnite kicked off Chapter 6 Season 3, dubbed Fortnite Super, on June 7. As the name suggests, the new season is focused on super-powered beings, with DC Comics icons Superman and Red Robin headlining the battle pass. A slate of super-powered weapons has also been added to the game, with new gadgets like Robin’s Grapnel Gun, the Myst Gauntlets, the Tracking Visor, the Bass Boost, Krypto Treats, and more.

With this in mind, Hank, Cleveland, and Bob’s addition to the game this season makes sense. After all, there’s no greater superpower than being a dad.

Konami Teases A Remake Of The Original Silent Hill

Konami Teases A Remake Of The Original Silent Hill

by admin June 13, 2025

The big news from Konami’s Press Start presentation today is the tease of a new Silent Hill remake. Bloober Team, the developer behind last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake, is back at the helm and appears to be tackling the first entry in the series.

Konami announced the game was in development with nothing more than a simple graphic. Although the publisher doesn’t specify which entry is being remade, all signs point to the first Silent Hill, released for the PlayStation in 1999, given that the game’s main theme song plays during the teaser. You can see the teaser at the tail end of the Press Start presentation at the 35:28 mark.

This is likely exciting news for fans; Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 was generally well-received, earning an 8.75 out of 10 from Game Informer. It’s unclear when this remake will arrive, given that Bloober Team is currently developing Cronos: The New Dawn, slated to launch this fall.

The first Silent Hill centers on Harry Mason, who searches for his missing adopted daughter in the foggy streets of the eponymous town. The game has no direct narrative connection to its recently remade sequel beyond the setting. If you’ve never seen Silent Hill in action, you can watch GI editors Kyle Hilliard and Marcus Stewart play the entire game in our six-episode Silent Hill Super Replay. Be sure also to check out the latest trailer for Silent Hill f, the series’ next mainline entry, which launches on September 25.

Silent Hill revival is far from over, with the original 1999 cult classic finally being remade

by admin June 13, 2025

Off the back of the success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake – a remake that blew my initial low expectations out of the water completely – Konami has announced that it is working with Bloober Team once more to remake the original Silent Hill from 1999. We don’t yet have a release window, however, with the game being announced as ‘in development’ from Bloober Team and Konami, with no additional details.

This reveal isn’t exactly surprising, given that Bloober Team announced it would be working with the publisher again in future not long after Silent Hill 2 Remake’s release. This led many, including myself, to believe that remakes of Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 would be on the cards. After all, Bloober Team did such a good job of faithfully remaking Silent Hill 2, so it would be a damned shame to not give the studio another shot at remaking more cult classic entries in the series.

Fortunately, it’s clear that Konami has thought the same, and Silent Hill fans can now look forward to returning to the foggy, disturbing town of Silent Hill once more. Rather than being introduced to James Sunderland and his less-than-pleasant trauma surrounding his late wife, Silent Hill puts players into the shoes of single father Harry Mason as he and his adopted daughter set off on holiday to the town, in an attempt to seek some respite after the passing of Harry’s wife. Ok, that might seem a little similar to Silent Hill 2, but hear me out.

On the way to Silent Hill, Harry and Cheryl wind up in a car crash, and when Harry wakes up, his daughter is nowhere to be found. The story then ensues with Harry desperately trying to find his daughter and meeting all manner of terrifying creatures and kooky characters along the way. This still sounds similar to Silent Hill 2, but believe me, there’s a lot more going on here than the likes of Harry Mason’s psyche that I dare not spoil for folk whose first experience of the story will be this remake.

Bloober Team has its work cut out for it remaking yet another Silent Hill game. It’s a lot of pressure to be put on any developer’s shoulders. That said, after just how well Silent Hill 2 was executed and how much well-deserved praise it garnered, I personally have pretty high hopes for anything Silent Hill that has Bloober’s name attached to it. What do you think?
