Litecoin Price Reacts as Open Interest Returns to New High

Litecoin (LTC) has, in the last 30 days, shed 6.113% of its value as the coin continues to experience volatility. However, the asset is showing the potential to register a bullish rally as the open interest has, in the last 24 hours, jumped to a new weekly high.

According to CoinGlass data, 8.44 million LTC valued at about $958.02 million were committed to the asset’s futures market by investors. For context, open interest refers to the sum of unsettled active futures contracts that investors have committed to Litecoin.

The bullish spike signals that investors are anticipating continued upward movement for LTC. According to available data, the majority of these investors are on the Binance exchange, with 2.44 million LTC valued at $276.93 million. This represents 28.9% of the total open interest within this time frame.

Bitget and Bybit are next, with 15.87% and 14.78% of the total share, respectively. In asset terms, Bitget investors committed 1.34 million LTC valued at $152.05 million, while Bybit registered 1.25 million LTC worth $141.65 million.

The uptick in open interest coincides with increased optimism of a possible approval of the pending exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Notably, there is anticipation that the U.S. SEC will decide on applications, with Nate Geraci placing approval probability at 95%.

Litecoin price action and future outlook

The uptick in open interest and other bullish developments have triggered a slight increase in price. As of press time, the Litecoin price was changing hands at $113.00, a 0.26% increase in the last 24 hours. The coin previously traded at a peak of $114.63 before the correction.

Investors are also actively engaging with the coin as trading volume climbed by 2.31% to $636.73 million.

There was anticipation in some quarters when Litecoin traded at $129 that it could record a 100% increase, as it mirrors Ethereum’s trend. Ali Martinez, the renowned analyst, has predicted a possible rise to $220. Whether it can climb that high only time will reveal.

On Monday, September 8, Hyperliquid (HYPE) price was up 7.5%, reaching an all-time high of $51.89. With a market cap of $16 billion, HYPE is now the eleventh-largest crypto asset, ahead of Chainlink (LINK). The move followed several significant developments for the DEX, including a major nod of confidence from an institutional player, network upgrades, and stablecoin plans.

For one, on Monday, September 8, Singapore-based trading platform Lion Group announced that it will convert Solana (SOL) and Sui (SUI) holdings into HYPE tokens. The Nasdaq-listed firm specializing in alternative investments stated that HYPE offers better long-term value creation than Solana and SUI. They also called the token “the most compelling opportunity” in DeFi.

Lion Group stated that it will convert its SOL and SUI positions into HYPE over time, buying at times when the token is down. Notably, Lion Group’s shift to Hyperliquid signals the institutional legitimacy the token has acquired, showing to some that it is now “safe” to invest. It also follows the decision from the asset manager BitGo to launch HyperEMV custodial solutions in the United States.

Hyperliquid to launch USDH stablecoin

Another significant development that pushed Hyperliquid to its ATH is the latest governance vote, which proposed the launch of the USDH. The Hyperliquid-based stablecoin, according to the company, is supposed to launch as part of the protocol’s next major upgrade.

The upgrade, announced on September 5, will cut fees for certain trading pairs by 80% and reduce rebates. According to the DEX, this move would boost liquidity on the high-frequency trading DEX.

Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Reaches New All-Time High

The Bitcoin (BTC) mining difficulty, the average difficulty level for mining a block on the network, climbed to a new all-time high of 134.7 trillion on Friday.

Network difficulty hit a previous all-time high in August and steadily rose throughout the month, despite projections that network difficulty would decrease.

Bitcoin’s hashrate, the average of the total number of hashes per second from all miners on the network, has fallen to 967 billion hashes per second, down from the all-time high of over 1 trillion hashes per second recorded on August 4, according to CryptoQuant.

Higher difficulty has created tighter operating conditions for large mining firms in an already competitive industry that runs on narrow profit margins.

The need to expend ever-greater computing resources to mine blocks on the BTC network has also raised concerns over the centralization of Bitcoin mining, as the cost of mining becomes progressively more expensive, leading to domination by large corporations and mining pools.

Solo miners still have hope in a sea of large, institutional players

Despite large players increasingly dominating the Bitcoin mining space, small and solo miners are still successfully mining blocks on occasion, and claiming the 3.125 BTC block reward valued at over $344,000 at the time of this writing.

Three solo miners defied the odds by successfully adding blocks to the BTC ledger and claiming the block reward in July and August.

The first miner added block 903,883 on July 3, netting just under $350,000 in block subsidy rewards plus priority fees paid by network participants to miners to ensure their transactions are included in the block.

The second solo miner added block 907,283 on July 26, claiming over $373,000 in rewards, when calculated using Bitcoin prices at the time.

On August 17, another solo miner mined block 910,440, nabbing $373,000 in block subsidy rewards and network fees. All three miners were operating through the Solo CK pool, a solo mining pool service.

Roblox is investing heavily in AI to assist users with game development, while also increasing the amount of money they can earn.

The news comes as part of the Roblox Developers Conference, where the platform also unveiled its new TikTok-style Moments feed of short-form videos taken directly from Roblox games.

Roblox now boasts an average of over 111.8 million daily active users and 390 billion visits to its games. Last month Roblox had a record-breaking 45 million concurrent users – higher than Steam – and over the past year, creators have earned over $1bn.

Roblox is now rewarding its creators with an increase to its DevEx rate – essentially the exchange rate from Robux to real cash. This has now risen by 8.5 percent, meaning 100,000 Robux equals $380.

AI is also a major way Roblox is enabling smaller teams to develop games on the platform. “To achieve our mission of connecting a billion people, we need creators around the world building at massive scale,” the company said. It believes the majority of the top 1000 in-platform games were built by teams of, on average, fewer than 10 people.

In total, Roblox has 400 AI models in production. Its star product is 4D Objects, which it believes will overhaul UGC. Users will be able to create fully interactive scripted assets by a simple text prompt – for instance, generating a fully drivable and customised car.

Other AI products include text-to-speech and speech-to-text APIs, allowing creators to add dialogue to characters or command NPCs, and real-time voice chat translation (starting with English, Spanish, French, and German).

Roblox’s other major development is its Moments feed. This will allow users to capture and edit short clips from games and share to a scrollable feed. Roblox hopes this will aid discovery on the platform, with users able to jump straight into a game from these videos. It will soon be available in specific countries in beta form (but not the UK or Australia).

“For years, our users have been doing this off-platform, creating a massive presence with Roblox-related content garnering over 1 trillion video views on YouTube,” the company said. It’s understandable it would want to keep this engagement on the platform. It also follows the likes of Twitch, which similarly updated its mobile app with a Discovery Feed of clips – it’s clear the dominance of TikTok on social media is impacting many gaming platforms.

These developer updates from Roblox follow continued efforts from the company to improve safety, with Roblox expanding its age estimation requirement to all users of the platform who access its communication features by the end of the year.

These safety efforts follow years of concern, with multiple reports accusing Roblox of being unsafe for children.

Last month, Roblox responded to a lawsuit accusing the company of failing to protect children. “Any assertion that Roblox would intentionally put our users at risk of exploitation is simply untrue,” it wrote. “No system is perfect and bad actors adapt to evade detection, including efforts to take users to other platforms, where safety standards and moderation practices may differ. We continuously work to block those efforts and to enhance our moderation approaches to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all users.”

Gold bug Peter Schiff is gloating over Bitcoin’s recent underperformance. 

In a recent social media post, the gold bug stated that the flagship cryptocurrency is currently doing “nothing” while gold is in the process of hitting new record highs.

Earlier today, the yellow metal hit yet another all-time high, surpassing the $3,600 level for the first time ever. 

“It’s doing exactly what one would expect with the Fed about to cut rates into rising inflation,” he said. 

As reported by U.Today, the odds of a rate cut spiked higher earlier today after the U.S. Labor Department published underwhelming jobs data, which shows that the economy is slowing. The US economy added only 22,000 jobs, which is far below the 75,000 jobs that were initially expected. 

“You bet on the wrong horse”

According to Schiff, those who decided to pick Bitcoin over gold ended up betting on the wrong horse.

Gold has substantially outperformed Bitcoin in 2025 despite the fact that its market cap is substantially bigger. 

Bitcoin is down 13% against gold this year, with the latter clearly winning the “safe haven” race.

Earlier this month, Schiff opined that gold and silver breaking out was a bearish development for the leading cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $111,225 after reclaiming the $113,000 level earlier today.

Binance (BNB) is trading in firmly bullish territory after breaking through the multi-year resistance at $700. This breakout highlights strong market momentum that has been building since support at $180 was established, marking a multi-year range bottom. Binance is committing significant resources to expand in Mexico’s financial sector, further strengthening long-term sentiment around BNB. With Fibonacci extensions pointing toward higher levels, there are signs for continuation.

The decisive breakout above $700 represents a critical milestone for BNB. This level acted as resistance within a multi-year range, containing price for an extended period. A confirmed close above it indicates acceptance at higher levels and signals that the consolidation phase may have transitioned into a trending market.

BNB’s bullish market structure has been intact since it bottomed at $180, where price established a clear higher low before beginning its sustained rally. Since then, the chart has consistently printed consecutive higher highs and higher lows, a defining feature of bullish continuation. This structure not only validates the strength of the breakout but also increases confidence in the likelihood of further upside.

The Fibonacci extension levels add another layer of technical confluence. The $1,000 region has already been briefly tested, acting as both a psychological and technical milestone. If BNB can reclaim this resistance and close above it, the next measured move points to the $1,450 extension level. This projection suggests that while short-term consolidations may occur, the broader trajectory remains firmly skewed toward the upside.

Volume dynamics also support this breakout. While the initial move above $700 occurred with a surge in activity, the market is now consolidating, awaiting renewed influxes of demand. Sustained bullish volume will be required to drive continuation, especially as price approaches psychological levels where sellers are likely to emerge.

What to expect in the coming price action

As long as BNB remains above $700, the bullish outlook stays valid. A reclaim and breakout above $1,000 could trigger acceleration toward $1,450, continuing the multi-year uptrend. Failure to hold $700 would weaken the bullish thesis.

Bitcoin‘s single-day hash rate on Tuesday hit a new high of 1.279 zettahash per second (ZH/s), according to mining data platform CoinWarz, even as the price of the asset remained roughly flat over the past 24 hours. 

The hash rate also reached a moving average high for seven days, surpassing 1 ZH/s for the period. 

The increases come, despite miners ongoing struggles with rising energy costs and lower rewards. After last year’s halving, the payoff for miners has fallen to 3.125 bitcoin, down from 6.250 previously. 

Miners typically rely on the price of Bitcoin to go up to cover costs but continued volatility for the asset has spurred some large miners to branch into high-powered computing. 



Hash rate is the measurement of all the computing power on the leading cryptocurrency’s network. 

Hash computations—or hashing—is the process of turning data into a fixed-length string of characters. It’s needed to do things on the Bitcoin network, like creating private keys so users can make transactions. 

1 ZH/s means that per second, the computers securing the Bitcoin network are doing one sextillion (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) hashes every second—an absurdly large number. 

Bitcoin, other than being a digital coin, is a payment network with operations processing transactions scattered worldwide. 

The operations processing transactions—known as miners—race to solve puzzles and are rewarded for doing so. In order to take part, they must use huge amounts of computing power. 

A high hash rate is important because it means more computing power is being used to keep the cryptocurrency’s network secure. And the more computing power used, the harder it is for attackers to take control of more than 50% of the Bitcoin network.

It also means there is more mining activity on the network as miners expand their operations and use more machines—and power—to continue minting coins. 

Bitcoin miners are typically large operations run by companies in warehouses that use lots of electricity to process transactions on the virtual coin’s network and mint new coins.

The aggregate hash rate for the world’s largest digital asset was previously concentrated in China. Following the country’s ban on Bitcoin mining in May 2021, companies were forced to move elsewhere to set up their operations.

Since then, North America has become the most dominant player in the Bitcoin mining space.

The increased seven-day hash rate comes as miners wrestle with rising energy costs and lower rewards. After last year’s halving, the payoff for miners is 3.125 bitcoin, down from 6.25 previously. 

Miners typically rely on the price of Bitcoin to go up to cover costs but continued volatility for the asset has spurred, some large miners tobranch into high-powered computing. 

Bitcoin was recently trading for $111,985 per coin, according to CoinGecko data, unmoved over 24 hours. The coin has also barely budged over a seven-day period, but it hit a new high of $124,128 in August.

You’ve decided to splurge on one of the best OLED gaming monitors, and you’ve decided that a 27-inch flat panel is just right for your desktop. The question now is, “How much OLED do I need?” It’s possible to spend $800 or more if you go for 4K resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. But is that overkill? Can you get the same gaming experience from QHD and 280 Hz?

I’ll attempt to answer that as I review Alienware’s new AW2725D. It’s a 27-inch QHD 2560×1440 resolution Quantum Dot OLED with 280 Hz, Adaptive-Sync, HDR400, and wide gamut color. And it’s $550 at this writing, so let’s take a look.

Today’s best Alienware AW2725D QD-OLED QHD 280 Hz deals

One thing all OLEDs share, at least the ones I’ve reviewed, is a super quick panel response. The universally quoted figure is 0.03 milliseconds, and it is not an exaggeration. This is why OLED doesn’t need overdrive and why it’s smoother at a given refresh rate than a comparable LCD. The threshold where motion resolution equals static resolution is around 144 Hz. And since you can’t go beyond perfect, is there a reason for OLEDs to be quicker than 240 Hz?

As you ponder that question, check out the Alienware AW2725D. It breaks into a lower pricing zone at $5,50 and for that sum, you get 280 Hz, QHD 2560×1440 resolution, Quantum Dot technology, HDR400, a wide color gamut, LED lighting, USB ports, a full rack of play aids, and Alienware’s usual premium build quality.

The QD layer means extra color gamut coverage. I measured over 111% of DCI-P3, making it one of the most colorful monitors I’ve yet tested. Accuracy is OK out of the box and excellent after a simple calibration. You also get Creator mode, which lets you pick between DCI-P3 Cinema and sRGB. The picture is very satisfying with or without adjustment.

The panel’s lifespan is assured by a heat-dissipating graphite film behind the OLED layer, along with generous ventilation in the back. It’s passive, meaning there are no fans. In the OSD, you’ll find a panel refresh routine and a health indicator that lets you know when to run it. Alienware backs the AW2725D with a three-year warranty.

Gaming features include AlienVision, which is fast becoming my favorite aiming point system with its flexible and capable editor that includes many shapes and colors and even a night vision mode. Also included are timers, a frame counter and display alignment marks. The LED show extends to Alienware’s famous head icon in back and a large power button. Both can be set to any color and be made to coordinate with on-screen action. Two USB ports underneath the panel’s bottom edge make plugging in peripherals a snap. The only things missing are a headphone jack and internal speakers.

The AW2725D delivers a lot of performance and image quality for $550. It is the best way to avoid dropping $1,100 on a big, fancy, and potentially slower 4K OLED gaming monitor.

Assembly and Accessories

Alienware’s molded pulp packaging has proven itself to be more than capable of protecting computer monitors from the rigors of shipment. I have yet to receive a damaged sample, despite some having gone through multiple trips on the FedEx truck. The AW2725D’s three component parts assemble without tools into the cool new design I’ve seen from Alienware with an upright that appears to float above the base. It’s very solid in practice. The cable bundle includes HDMI, DisplayPort, USB and IEC for the internal power supply.

The AW2725D’s bezel is reasonably narrow at 6mm wide on top, 11mm to the sides and 14mm at the bottom, where you’ll find an Alienware moniker and a large backlit power button. Its color and behavior are controlled in the OSD. Additional lighting is in the back where the Alienware Head is prominently displayed. It too can light up in any color and both LEDs can follow on-screen action using the Aurora control app.

The stand looks delicate thanks to the upright’s floating look and the base’s small size. But it is quite heavy and the three parts mate solidly to form a monolithic package. Ergonomics include 5/21 degrees tilt, 20 degrees swivel, 90-degree portrait mode and a 4.6-inch height adjustment. Movements are firm and sure with no wobble or play. The AW2725D isn’t expensive, but it is premium in every way.

The input panel is kept compact in the center, underneath the stand attachment point. You get two HDMI 2.1 and a single DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Compression (DSC). A USB-B upstream port forms a hub that includes Type C and A ports on the panel’s bottom edge. They’re easy to access from the front, so you can plug in peripherals, like headphones for instance, as there is no traditional 3.5mm jack. There are no internal speakers either.

OSD Features

Pressing the AW2725D’s center joystick, the only control, opens the quick menu and status bar seen in the first photo below. An up-click opens the full OSD, which will be familiar to any user of Dell or Alienware monitors.

The top status bar shows signal information and panel health info. At the bottom is a quick menu with five programmable icons that provide access to often-used functions. The full OSD starts appropriately with Game and its 12 picture modes. Standard is the default with solid gamma out of the box, but I found it a tad green in tone. After the game-specific modes, you’ll find Creator with gamut and gamma selections. Its DCI-P3 option refers to the cinema standard with a 2.6 gamma and D63 white point. sRGB is close to spec and is appropriate for colorists and photographers needing that reference.

To find the best image, I went for Custom Color and its two-point white balance sliders. A few tweaks took grayscale and color to pro-level accuracy. The rest of the Game menu includes game aids like timers and a frame rate counter. And there’s AlienVision, which is a super cool aiming point editor. It includes multiple shapes and colors plus night vision and even a dynamic reticle that changes color to stay in contrast with the background.

The lighting options have fixed colors for the power LED and Alienware Head. Or you can sync them with your PC using the Aurora control app. HDR options are found in the Display menu where you get six additional modes. Desktop is the default, and it is good, but HDR Peak 1000 is the most dynamic with variable brightness and accurate color tracking. It provides a vivid, colorful presentation that is unmatched by anything except another QD-OLED monitor.

The PIP/PBP mode includes five different screen split ratios plus options for the PIP window position. This feature lets you view two video sources at once. In Personalize, you can set the functions of the joystick directionals and the five icons in the quick menu.

In Others, you can run the pixel refresh routine manually whenever you wish. When the panel health indicator turns red, it runs automatically. Finally, you can view nine screens of factory calibration info that is unique to each AW2725D sample.

The AW2725D comes out of the box in Standard mode, and I found that it was a bit green in tone. It has spot-on gamma and color, but bright white shades are slightly off. The best choice is Custom Color where you’ll find RGB gain and bias sliders plus hue and saturation controls for all six colors. With a few changes to gain, I achieved a visually perfect grayscale. Gamma is spot on in any case, but there’s only one choice, 2.2. If you want a darker or lighter presentation, you’re out of luck. My SDR settings are below. Note that there is no variable brightness option in SDR.

HDR signals enable six additional picture modes, of which HDR Peak 1000 is the best. It employs variable brightness for peaks around 460 nits, slightly higher than the class average. Custom Color HDR offers a contrast slider that lets you dial down the overall brightness, plus color hue and saturation controls.

As I played a few hours of Doom Eternal’s horde mode, I kept thinking of the word “translation.” The AW2725D, like nearly all OLEDs faster than 200 Hz, translates your thoughts into action with no delay and no blur. About the only other monitor class on this level is an Ultra HD OLED at 240 Hz. So taken on a price/performance basis, the AW2725D clearly wins.

With a decent mouse and keyboard, a monitor like this lets your skills shine, as in, it’s never in the way. There is no delay, and the picture is always sharp as a tack, whether still or moving. Aiming and shooting is consistently precise. The AW2725D’s video processing is without flaw.

The image is stunning in every respect. The extra punch from Quantum Dot color is clear when comparing the AW2725D to a non-QD screen. Though it’s just a 10-15% difference in volume, you can plainly see the extra red and green in gameplay and in the Windows desktop. Photos look brighter and more vibrant. And those perfect black levels don’t hurt. The AW2725D delivers performance on par with all the QD-OLEDs I’ve reviewed and has just a tad more color than most of them.

From a convenience standpoint, the AW2725D’s extra USB ports on the bottom are handy. They are easy to find and are the perfect place to plug in a pair of headphones. Though I wished for a 3.5mm jack to run my trusty Sennheisers, there are plenty of capable USB cans out there. Some may mourn the loss of internal speakers, but considering the sound quality coming from most of them, it isn’t a big sacrifice.

The AW2725D is a great everyday screen for work and play. Its color is a real asset when working on graphics in Photoshop or watching video. I’m a fan of mini home theaters and a screen like this creates a personal experience in a small space for not a lot of money. Add in good desktop speakers or headphones and you can enjoy the latest blockbuster from Marvel Studios while sitting in your favorite gaming chair.

Takeaway: The AW2725D is a great all-around display and a superlative gaming monitor. It has the same premium video processing as any high-end monitor with low input lag and perfect motion resolution. Do you need a higher refresh rate? I’m going to say no. 280 Hz QHD is super responsive and the picture here gives nothing away to higher-res screens thanks to its highly saturated color. For the price, this OLED is going to be hard to top.

Capcom’s president says high price of PS5 has contributed to low sales of Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto has attributed the high price of the PlayStation 5 as a reason for low sales of Monster Hunter Wilds.

During an interview with Nikkei Gaming (translated by ResetEra), Tsujimoto discussed the immediate success of the title, which sold eight million copies in three days making it the fastest-selling title in Capcom’s history.

However, in its most recent financial results Capcom described sales of Monster Hunter Wilds as “soft” having moved 477,000 units in Q1 2025, bringing its total sales to 10.6 million units.

Tsujimoto attributed this drop to the high price of the PlayStation 5 and subscriptions, along with the $70 game price tag, as a barrier for most consumers.

“The console costs about ¥80,000 ($538),” he noted. “When you factor in the cost of software and monthly subscriptions, it comes to about ¥100,000 ($672) at the time of purchase.

“This is not an amount that can be easily reached, especially for younger generations. This situation is not limited to Japan, but is similar overseas as well.”

Capcom’s president said it is “currently formulating a strategy” to “boost sales” of Monster Hunter Wilds throughout the rest of the year.

Elsewhere in the interview, Tsujimoto also highlighted the success of the Switch 2 and its price tag ¥48,980 ($329). “The response was better than we had expected,” he said.

“While prices vary by country, this reaffirmed the high level of cost-consciousness among ordinary consumers.”

High On Life’s Switch 2 Version Has Free Upgrade Path And Big Improvements

High on Life launched on the original Nintendo Switch earlier this year, but now the game is getting a bit of a console upgrade. As announced by developer Squanch Games, High on Life is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2, and it comes with several small but welcome improvements. That isn’t even mentioning the very agreeable upgrade path.

First of all, you can use the Joy-Con 2’s mouse controls if you like playing your first-person shooters as if you’re on a PC–a nifty use of the feature we’ll surely see in other FPS releases further down the line. There’s also improved VFX and texture quality, a higher frame rate, and an enhanced resolution while docked that brings the game up to 1080p and 30 frames per second.

Now Playing: High On Life Video Review

The good news for those of you who already own the game on the original Switch and have also picked up a Switch 2 is that you can upgrade the game completely for free. Or, if you’re buying it for the first time, it’ll set you back $40 digitally.

High on Life originally launched back in 2022 to a middling reception, generally landing on the positive end more than negative. GameSpot’s High on Life review didn’t come away from it massively wowed, but did find it funny at least.

A sequel was also announced earlier this year, and is currently set to be released February 13, 2026. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but there’s currently no word on a Switch or Switch 2 release.
