The 2025 Emmys Are Tonight. Here’s Everything You Need To Know

by admin September 14, 2025

The biggest night in television is finally here.

The 77th edition of the annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be given out on Sunday night.

The best shows that came out sometime between June 2024 and May 2025 will be awarded across categories.

Apple TV+ is the big winner so far when it comes to nominations. Its fan-favorite show Severance picked up a total of 27 nominations. Lead actors Adam Scott and Britt Lower, who play Mark and Helly on the show, are both nominated for best actor nominations.

HBO’s The Batman spin-off show The Penguin came in second place with 24 nominations.

On the comedy side, critics believe Apple TV+’s take on Hollywood, The Studio, which got an impressive 23 nominations, will dominate the categories its nominated in — Hollywood loves Hollywood!

The Television Academy will also be honoring actor couple Ted Danson (famous for shows like Cheers and The Good Place) and Mary Steenburgen (who you might know from the movie Step Brothers) with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. The award is given to honor the philanthropic efforts of media figures and has been previously awarded to the likes of Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney.

The Emmy Awards are broken into two weekends. Last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys focused on technical and guest acting categories. The Studio and The Penguin led that show with their wins.

The fan-favorite latest addition to the Star Wars series Andor won four Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including for outstanding fantasy/sci-fi costumes and visual effects. The show is up for an outstanding drama series award tonight but has tough competition against Severance and other big name nominees like HBO’s White Lotus and The Last of Us.

When is it?

The awards ceremony will start at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET on Sunday night and go on for about three hours.

Where is it?

The ceremony is taking place at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The Primetime Emmys have been held in that theater since 2008. It was formerly known as Nokia Theater and then Microsoft Theater until 2023 when NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service acquired naming rights.

How do I watch it?

CBS will be broadcasting the ceremony live. If you don’t have network television or access to streaming services with live TV like Hulu Live, you can stream the awards on the Paramount+ app. But there is a catch: you can only stream the show live if you’re subscribed to its premium tier, which costs $13 a month and comes with a free trial.

Who’s hosting it?

The show will be hosted by Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze. It will be Bargatze’s first time hosting the awards show. In 2024, he made $82.2 million from his comedy tour to become the year’s highest grossing stand-up comedian.

Who else is nominated?

Other genre shows, such as Black Mirror, Paradise, and What We Do in the Shadows are also up for awards tonight with at least one nomination each.

Several records were also made in the nominations. Harrison Ford got his first ever Emmy nomination for his work in Apple TV+’s Shrinking.

Kathy Bates became the oldest actress to be nominated for a best lead actress in a drama series award at 77 for her work in CBS’ Matlock.

The 15-year-old star of Netflix’s top-viewed series Adolescence, Owen Cooper, became the youngest person to be nominated for an outstanding supporting actor in a limited series award.

Pundit Reveals Where Bitcoin’s True Strength Lies – Here’s What It Is

by admin September 14, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Bitcoin’s greatness isn’t measured only by its price or market cycles, and its true strength lies deeper. As one crypto pundit explains, it lies in the alignment of incentives that keeps the network secure and the loyalty of holders who refuse to sell in the face of volatility. This combination of economic design and cultural conviction has allowed Bitcoin to weather every storm, proving that its foundation is far stronger than any single market cycle.

Why Bitcoin Thrives On Patience, Not Speculation

Bitcoin’s status as the largest cryptocurrency of all time is a direct result of its unique and powerful holdings. An analyst known as GhostOfTanzCho has revealed on X that other cryptocurrencies have tried to compete with Bitcoin, but none have succeeded in recreating that same gravity of conviction and holding culture.

This culture, which is the key ingredient to its success, attracts people who wholeheartedly believe in holding, and it indoctrinates skeptics into an actionable belief of holding. There has never been another cryptocurrency that successfully recreated the holding culture that made Bitcoin great. However, the same culture is currently being replicated in SPX6900.

GhostOfTanzCho argues that the success of a crypto token is fundamentally a reflection of supply and demand. By building a strong holding culture, a crypto token effectively solves the supply side of the equation by reducing sell pressure.

Coincidentally, it also solves the demand side by incentivizing holders to create a critical mass of belief and interest. Thus, the SPX6900 could be one of the most significant crypto tokens of all time. Against all odds, it has done the impossible and has recreated the cultural DNA of Bitcoin.

This model, which favors long-term believers over short-term traders, is described as the only way for a crypto token to become a market giant. When a critical mass of people have the conviction to hold long-term, trading becomes irrelevant, and the culture wins.

Global Money Supply Surge Sets The Stage For BTC

In the midst of heightened Bitcoin accumulation, a massive surge in global money supply is laying the groundwork for the next explosive crypto cycle, and BTC is already leading the charge.

According to LondonRealTV’s founder Brian Rose, the expansion of the global money supply has historically been a leading driver of crypto bull cycles. With the price of BTC above $115,000, ETF inflows accelerating, and the total crypto market cap rising by $2 trillion in a single year, this shows liquidity is clearly returning.

The analyst also highlights key risks that could trigger volatility. These include a potential reversal in monetary policy, where central banks begin to tighten the money supply, or large-scale profit-taking by major holders. Meanwhile, monitoring on-chain flows and capital rotation will be essential as the market cycle matures.

Are SLMs the future of AI? Nvidia researchers think so. Here's why - 1

Nvidia researchers call SLMs the future of AI: Here’s why

by admin September 13, 2025

Experts at Nvidia claim that Small Language Models (SLMs) are key to the future of the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

However, most investments are still being made into Large Language Models (LLMs). If this situation persists, the industry may slow down and subsequently dent the U.S. economy.

Summary

  • Most AI investors are attracted to companies working on LLM-based products.
  • SLM agents are cheaper and often more efficient for specific tasks than LLMs.
  • Nvidia calls SLMs the future of AI and urges companies to work with smaller models.

SLMs vs. LLMs

SLMs are trained on up to 40 billion parameters, excelling at a narrow set of specified tasks while consuming significantly less resources. In other words, they’re cheaper.

LLMs are expensive. In April, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman famously said that his company’s flagship product, ChatGPT, costs OpenAI tens of millions of dollars when users say “please” and “thank you. It gives a clue to the costliness of LLMs. That’s where SLMs steal the show since they don’t require expensive data centers to complete tasks.

SLMs, for instance, can serve as client support chatbots and don’t need to learn much about a variety of topics.

According to a Nvidia research paper released in June, SLM agents are the future of AI, not LLM agents:

“…small language models (SLMs) are sufficiently powerful, inherently more suitable, and necessarily more economical for many invocations in agentic systems, and are therefore the future of agentic AI.”

LLMs also help to train SLMs so they don’t have to absorb all the data from scratch. They learn from large models efficiently and quickly, and become almost as good at solving specific tasks without having to spend many resources.

The tiniest language models are trained on one billion parameters and can operate on regular CPUs.

Companies don’t need virtual human beings with encyclopedic knowledge. Instead, they need tools that solve certain tasks quickly and precisely.

That’s why cheap SLM agents are much more lucrative investments than LLMs. Notably, GPT-5 uses several models, including small ones, depending on specific tasks.

What happens if an AI sector takes a setback?

Crypto and blockchain firms are increasingly leveraging LLMs to streamline operations and enhance decision-making. DeFi platforms like Zignaly use LLMs to summarize trades and manage social investment insights, while infrastructure firms such as Platonic and Network3 employ them to support developers and optimize on-chain workflows.

Trading firms are also combining LLMs with other AI tools for market intelligence and predictive analytics.

But the biggest projects are Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s GPT, Anthropic’s Claude, and xAI’s Grok. Each one requires massive data centers (a lot of electricity) and a ton of capital.

The AI sector in the U.S. raised $109 billion in investments in 2024 alone. This year, American AI companies have already spent $400 billion on infrastructure. In August, it was reported that OpenAI is seeking to sell $500 billion worth of its stock. According to Morgan Stanley’s Andrew Sheets, AI companies may spend $3 trillion on data centers by 2029.

According to IDC Research, by 2030, each dollar spent on AI-based business solutions will bring $4.6 to the global economy.

Yet, a problem lingers. If there aren’t enough data centers being built, it may have a substantial impact on the economy and scare off big investors. Once investors reduce their allocations in AI companies, spending will decrease.

The slowdown of AI companies using LLMs may be caused by factors such as troubled electricity supplies, high interest rates, a trade war, and growing demand for SLMs, among other reasons.

What’s worse, some note that inflating the data centers creates a bubble, and it’s not as lovely as the dotcom era that helped to propel the Internet to new highs. The problem with data centers is that they use chips that will eventually become obsolete.

It will take only a few years. Thus, while these chips are costly, they won’t be reused for other purposes.

How to avoid collapse

To avoid the collapse, Nvidia researchers recommend that AI companies opt for using SLMs and boost the specialization of SLM agents.

Such an approach will help to save resources and increase efficiency and competitiveness.

Researchers suggest that creating modular agent systems will help to keep flexibility and use LLMs only for complex reasoning.

Here’s your first look at the Mario movie sequel

by admin September 13, 2025

As part of it latest Direct showcase, Nintendo has had a bit of a Mario moment to celebrate the iconic plumber’s 40th anniversary. Alongside other bits of moustache-adjacent news we got a very first look at the second Mario movie, officially titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Animation studio Illumination’s breezy but entertaining first movie adaptation – officially (and unimaginatively) titled The Super Mario Bros. Movie – proved to be an huge hit when it released in 2023, grossing over $1bn world-wide. So a sequel was almost inevitable.

To date, details on the follow-up have been limited, although Toad voice actor Keegan-Michael Key did last year tease it would feature an “intriguing” setting alongside “old favourite” characters and “really deep cuts”. Then, this May, it looked like NBCUniversal had inadvertently revealed the sequel’s title: Super Mario World.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer.Watch on YouTube

That, it turns out, was wrong. Instead, it’s called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and we got a very first trailer as part of Nintendo’s latest Direct. Cue the internet leaning in for careful scrutiny in a bid to reveal its many Mario-themed secrets.

The Mario movie sequel, as previously confirmed by Nintendo, releases on 3rd April 2026 in the US, with a Japanese release scheduled for 24th April. Expect it to arrive for most other territories somewhere in-between.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

Here’s What The New XRP Ledger Updates By Developers Mean For Investors

by admin September 13, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Developers are getting ready to introduce a major security update on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) that could enhance investor protection. Known as XLS-86 Firewall, the amendment is designed to block scams and stop the loss of XRP tokens from wallets—a long-awaited safeguard for a community that has endured heavy losses in the past.

How The New XRP Ledger Update Will Protect Investors

The XRP Ledger is preparing to roll out one of its most significant security-focused updates, known as the XLS-86 Firewall. Announced by a dUNL Validator identified as ‘Vet’ on X social media, the proposal aims to provide a safeguard against the increasing number of scams targeting XRP holders. At its core, the amendment is created to give investors greater control over how their transactions are executed, limiting the chances of bad actors draining their wallets.

The firewall will allow account owners to impose customized restrictions on outgoing transactions, including time-based limits and value-based thresholds. This means that even if an attacker manages to gain access to a private key, they cannot instantly withdraw funds from the account. Instead, these restrictions buy valuable time for the legitimate owner to react and secure their holdings.

Another vital component of the amendment is the “whitelist” mechanism. With this feature, investors can authorize a list of trusted accounts that are exempt from firewall restrictions, ensuring that daily transactions are not disrupted. This design balances security with usability, giving users confidence that their systems are protected without adding unnecessary friction to daily workflows.

Notably, activation of the firewall is left to the user’s discretion, allowing them to tailor security to their needs and risk tolerance. For retail investors and small enterprises, the upgrade offers a critical advantage by providing an extra layer of protection against scam attacks.

Traditionally, multisignature protection has been touted as a robust security layer; however, it remains complicated for the average user to implement. By contrast, the upcoming XRPL firewall offers a more accessible solution that complements existing transaction flows. Its simplicity and promised defense against unauthorized transfers make it a potentially game-changing new security upgrade for XRP holders.

Why XRPL Needed A Firewall Security Upgrade

The development of the XLS-86 Firewall did not arise independently but as a response to persistent and growing threats against the XRP community. Over the years, malicious actors have repeatedly exploited unsuspecting investors, employing tactics that range from phishing campaigns to impersonation scams. Just recently, the CTO of Ripple, David Schwartz, flagged a fake airdrop scheme that could have inflicted serious losses on unsuspecting investors had it gone unnoticed.

Currently, the XRP Ledger does not provide any built-in safeguards to stop a compromised account from being drained instantly. However, with the development of the new firewall upgrade, XRP investors will be allowed to set protective rules that delay or restrict suspicious outgoing transfers, reducing the likelihood of catastrophic financial losses while still giving them full custody of their funds.

Bullets Found After the Charlie Kirk Shooting Carried Messages. Here’s What They Mean

by admin September 12, 2025

On Friday, Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah native, was identified by federal law enforcement as a suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk. During Friday’s press conference, officials said that several bullet casings recovered from a hunting rifle found near the crime scene had messages inscribed on them.

During the press conference, officials appeared to take the inscriptions literally, to the extent they ascribed meaning to them at all. But the four messages apparently written by the alleged shooter instead seem to invoke a variety of memes and video game references.

One of the casings was said to be engraved with the phrase “Hey Fascist! Catch!” followed by an up arrow, a right arrow, and three downward-facing arrows. That sequence is an apparent reference to the “Eagle 500kg bomb” in the popular third-person-shooter game Helldivers 2. The bomb has become a meme in the Helldivers community for being comically excessive.

Arrowhead Game Studios, the developers of Helldivers 2, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from WIRED. Launched in 2024, the game has grown a cult following for its Starship Troopers–like storyline. The cooperative shooter allows teams of up to four players, called “Helldivers,” to spread “freedom” across a fictional universe—fighting bugs, robots, and squid-like aliens rather than other humans. Their form of managed democracy is “basically fascism,” says independent extremism researcher Harry Batchelor, who works with the Extremism and Gaming Research Network.

Helldivers 2 is satire, and the vast majority of players are in on it. The game, says Batchelor, “takes “the whole ‘pretending to be democracy while actually being a fascist government’ so seriously, it’s obviously a joke.” The community around the game has generally maintained a positive reputation, even working together to combat “review bombing”—coordinated negative reviews intended to hurt a game’s chance of success.

The arrows that activate the Eagle 500kg bomb have been used in other memes to show that a user is “going to do a big, violent action,” Don Caldwell, editor in chief of Know Your Meme, tells WIRED. “That’s maybe a cheeky way of expressing it on the casing.”

Shortly after the Friday press conference about Kirk’s fatal shooting, moderators locked the r/Helldivers subreddit. “Due to recent events and the high amount of posts about the topic, we will be locking the subreddit temporarily,” a post on the subreddit reads. “We’re aware of what happened, our modteam doesn’t condone it.”

Helldivers may not be the only game reference on the casings. Another casing was allegedly engraved with lyrics to a famous Italian folk song called “Bella Ciao,” which translates directly to “goodbye beautiful.” The song, which has associations with postwar anti-fascist movements in Italy, has seen a resurgence on social media in recent years. Notably, “Bella Ciao” holds significance for rebel forces during a mission in Far Cry 6, a video game set on a fictional Caribbean island ruled by a dictator. A USB stick with the song is a collectible item labeled “Bella Ciao de Libertad,” a reference to the rebel group; the in-game description notes that the song has been “inspiring guerrillas and partisans for over a century.”

It’s Mario birthday! The moustachioed maestro is 40 this weekend, and Nintendo is in a celebratory mood. Its latest Direct showcase was chock full of Mario stuff – from re-releases to a brand-new tennis game – but things didn’t stop there. We also get a release date for Metroid Prime 4, a glimpse of a new Fire Emblem, and more. For the full rundown of everything revealed, read on.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie revealed

First we got a bit of business involving the likes of a 40th anniversary ticket for the Nintendo Museum in Japan and a reminder about the Mario theme park land over at Epic Universe, Florida. But onto the video game news! Or rather movie news. Yup, we got a name for the Mario movie sequel – officially titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – plus a first trailer tease.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are making a return

Two of Mario’s very best adventures, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are being re-released for Switch and Switch 2 – so if you want to relive the good old days, or experience them for the first time, here’s your chance. They’re not cheap at $40 each, but both arrive digitally on 2nd October with a physical release to follow. Also, two Mario Galaxy themed amiibo are due next year.

It’s essentially a world packed with mini-games where players can work with or against their friends. Nintendo is also teasing other new content for a later reveal, and if that appeals, it’s out “spring” next year. Oh, and there’s a new Talking Flower toy coming too.

Yoshi is back in a new adventure on Switch 2

The ever-lovable Yoshi is back with another new adventure of his own. This time, the green dinosaur and his pals has been sucked into some kind of magical book where players can experience a “page-turning adventure” full of classic side-scrolling platform hijinks. It’s called Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and it’s out on Switch 2 next “spring”.

Storm Lancers hits Switch

And with the Mario stuff out the way, Nintendo began its Direct proper with a quick look at developer ProbablyMonsters’ Storm Lancers. It’s a roguelike adventure set in 80s anime-insured realms, playable either solo or in co-op, that’s coming to Switch today.

Hades 2 gets a Switch 2 release date

Watch on YouTube

Hades 2, the sequel to Supergiant’s much-loved original roguelike adventure, is finally leaving early access and coming to Switch 2 on 25th September. That’s the eShop release, but if you want a physical version, it arrives on 20th November this year.

More amiibo!

If you just can’t get enough of those cheery little figures, you’ve some Kirby options to look forward to, all arriving alongside (and compatible with) Kirby Air Riders on 20th November. One pack includes Kirby and his star-shaped vehicle, while the other includes Bandana Waddle Dee and his rider. Nintendo also noted another Kirby Air Riders Direct is on the way.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment release date

Watch on YouTube

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – the third game in Koei Tecmo’s hack-and-slash take on Zelda (this time set amid Tears of the Kingdom’s story) – has a release date. It comes to Switch 2 on 6th November with pre-orders starting today.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined coming next year

Watch on YouTube

If it’s classic RPG action you’re into, then there’s Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. As its name suggests, its a remake of the classic PlayStation adventure, first released in 2000, and it’s coming to Switch 2 on 5th February next year.

Virtual Boy on Switch and Switch 2

Watch on YouTube

After a brief update on the Nintendo App and its new Kirby theme, it was time for some serious retro deep cuts. From 17th February next year, Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers on Switch and Switch 2 can get stuck into some Virtual Boy titles, with 14 games confirmed. You’ll need to buy a dedicated accessory to play them in 3D as originally envisaged, but details on that are due later.

Fatal Frame 2 is getting a remake

Fatal Frame 2 – one of the best horror games ever made as far as I’m concerned – is being remade for Switch 2. The series’ classic camera-snapping action returns in Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterly Remake, which is out “early” next year.

More Switch 2 upgrades!

Ethereum Investors Double Down As Staking Activity Spikes Sharply – Here’s How Much

Ethereum has flipped slightly bullish again after facing bearish pressure for several days and is trading back above the $4,300 price level. Amid this price fluctuation, a recent report shows that ETH’s staking activity has grown exponentially, with a massive portion of the altcoin locked away in staking.

A Massive Growth In Ethereum Staking

While Ethereum’s price is regaining upward traction, staking activity is on the rise. Currently, investors are doubling down on ETH, with staking activity spiking sharply as confidence in the network’s long-term potential strengthens.

This notable surge in staking activity was shared by CryptoGucci, a crypto enthusiast, on the X (formerly Twitter) platform. The development shows a robust commitment from institutional and retail players, who view Ethereum’s proof-of-stake architecture as a pillar for safeguarding the blockchain’s future rather than merely a yield potential.

According to the expert, there is currently more than 36,148,793 ETH locked into staking, even as market volatility continues to shape the broader crypto landscape. This significant number of ETH locked away in staking represents over 29.9% of the total supply of ETH in circulation.

At current market prices, the total ETH locked in staking is worth a staggering $158 billion. CryptoGucci noted that the huge capital from institutional and retail investors championed to the ecosystem is committed to securing ETH through staking.

During this substantial wave of ETH staking, a large portion of the altcoin has been persistently withdrawn from major crypto exchanges. Recent reports reveal that Ethereum’s exchange supply is on a steady downward trajectory, and the trend does not appear to be showing any signs of slowing down.

After examining the Ethereum Exchange Reserve metric, CryptoGucci highlighted that the ETH supply on exchanges continues to reach record lows. This development signals a strong shift towards staking and long-term holdings, which reflects rising investor confidence in the altcoin’s potential.

Presently, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are purchasing billions, treasuries are piling, and institutions are hoarding. Given the ongoing robust attention directed toward ETH, the expert is confident that a notable rally could be on the horizon.

ETH Locking A Larger Chunk Of Spot Market Share

Ethereum is continuously breaking crucial boundaries in the ongoing bull market cycle. In a post on the X platform, Milk Road, a crypto expert, reported that ETH has flipped Bitcoin, the largest crypto asset, in terms of spot market share.

For the first time ever, ETH has captured a larger share of the spot market compared to Bitcoin, surpassing the 50% mark. According to the crypto expert, this is a five-year breakout that indicates the direction of liquidity flow. ETH’s overtaking BTC in this area is a result of stablecoins, tokenization, ETFs, and regulation converging on the network.

I turned myself into a 3D figurine with Google’s Nano Banana – here’s how you can hop on the latest AI image trend

by admin September 11, 2025

Google’s latest image model, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, also known as Nano Banana, has produced a fun new trend using its advanced image capabilities. You can turn yourself (or your pet) into a highly detailed 3D figurine.

All you need to do is upload a photo and employ a very detailed prompt to have a stylized image of a miniature, plasticized version of the subject, posed on a little clear base, less than a minute later, with a box and even a wire-frame model to show it off.

This particular flavor of AI-generated toy is exploding across social media right now because the model is fast, free, and surprisingly good at what it does. Unlike earlier versions of these kinds of prompts that ran on GPT-4o or Midjourney, Nano Banana has better prompt adherence, understands packaging and posing more consistently, and renders faces that, while not always perfect, are often impressively accurate.

It’s all built into Google AI Studio and the Gemini apps and website if you want to try it. You just have to upload a picture, ideally a full-body shot, of who or whatever you want to make into a figurine, and submit the right prompt. You can play around with it, but the following template, shared around on social media, works very well.

Type this in:

“Create a 1/7 scale commercialized figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, in a real environment. The figurine is placed on a computer desk. The figurine has a round transparent acrylic base, with no text on the base. The content on the computer screen is a 3D modeling process of this figurine. Next to the computer screen is a toy packaging box, designed in a style reminiscent of high-quality collectible figures, printed with original artwork. The packaging features two-dimensional flat illustrations.”

When you paste that into Gemini, along with a photo, it doesn’t just try to render a toy version of what’s in the picture, it imagines the toy existing in the real world, with all the context that goes along with a premium 3D figurine release. It’s like a high-end collectible a company would make if you became famous for whatever pose you you’re in.

Toying with AI

I went with fun photo of myself from a big circus-themed party a few years ago where I went as a lion tamer (see the small lion in my pocket). I shared the photo with Nano Banana along with the prompt and twenty seconds later, there “I” was, six inches tall, standing on a desk and looking jaunty with my whip like I was about to command a herd of miniature jungle cats.

The packaging beside me showed a great illustrated version of the same pose, except it decided I was the ringmaster and named Rhett for some reason. The computer screen behind the figurine showed a 3D modeling window open with “my” miniature wire-frame form on it, being rotated in space like it was being finalized for mass production.

It genuinely looks like a photo, right down to the scuffed desk and random paperwork. Even the stuffed lion in my pocket looked right. It felt like an alternate version of me had been shrink-wrapped and made collectible.

Next, I decided to try with a photo of my dog, Cabbage. I uploaded a picture of her sitting regally on the ground and used the same default prompt. The toy created by the AI was almost too realistic. I had to look closely to tell it’s supposed to be made of molded plastic.

The screen behind the figure showed the hound rendered in a 3D modeling program appropriately, but the packaging went a little awry. It had multiple images of the dog like it was a test of different poses. But I did like that, lacking her real name, the AI went with her bandanna to name her Firecracker Fido.

The thing that struck me after both generations was how smoothly it all worked. No fine-tuning needed to get 95% of the way there. The Nano Banana just understood the visual reference and ran with it. I wouldn’t claim it’s anything like as valuable as what real human artists can do, but it was a fun experiment.

Much like the Studio Ghibli AI image trend, it’s worthwhile for personal amusement, but the idea of using these images for any kind of money-making scheme to sell actual toys would be several steps beyond propriety.
