1,000,000,000 XRP Vanishes From Ripple Escrow, What’s Happening?

by admin October 2, 2025

The crypto market has witnessed another unlocking of XRP tokens from Ripple’s escrow account on Thursday, October 2nd, as the much-anticipated “Uptober” season kicks off to a bullish start.

According to data from blockchain tracking platform Whale Alert, a total of 1 billion XRP tokens were unlocked from escrow in less than an hour.

The unlocked tokens are valued at approximately $3 billion, based on XRP’s trading price at the time of the event. Notably, the release occurred in four separate transactions: two batches of 400 million XRP each and two batches of 100 million XRP each, summing up to a total of 1,000,000,000 XRP.

While the move comes as no surprise, it marks the fulfillment of Ripple’s scheduled monthly release of XRP, typically on the first of every month. However, this month’s unlocking carried a slight twist, as it was delayed until the second day.

What’s Ripple up to?

The move has sparked discussions within the XRP community, with speculations about its impact on XRP’s ongoing price movement. It is important to note that the San Francisco-based blockchain company has committed to the escrow system as a way to control XRP’s circulation and mitigate oversupply, which could otherwise threaten the token’s value.

Although Ripple consistently unlocks up to 1 billion XRP each month (often returning a portion back to escrow after limited sales), this month’s unlock has drawn more attention, given the hype surrounding Uptober.

Coinciding with XRP’s strong momentum, the timing has fueled optimism. The token recently broke above the $3 resistance level, with market watchers suggesting that the unlock could further propel its price upward.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, XRP has surged 3.98% in the past 24 hours and is trading at approximately $3.04 as of press time.

Source: CoinMarketCap

Although increased supply can sometimes trigger short-term corrections by reducing scarcity, analysts argue that this month’s move could instead provide the liquidity required for institutional adoption, thereby supporting further upside momentum.

With decisions on the XRP ETF now entering their final stages, investors remain confident in XRP’s potential throughout October.

$840 Million in Bitcoin Bought in One Go, What’s Happening?

by admin September 23, 2025

The Bitcoin ecosystem has witnessed enormous BTC transfers involving thousands of coins in the last hour. However, the most significant transaction, spotted by blockchain tracker Whale Alert, has sparked market reactions as it appears to represent a major buy.

According to data from Whale Alert, 7,441 BTC (over $840 million) were withdrawn from the leading U.S.-based crypto exchange Coinbase in a single transfer executed just minutes ago.

The massive Bitcoin purchase comes at a time when the market is under pressure from negative price trends and heavy selling. This development has drawn the attention of traders and analysts.

The crypto community has expressed excitement about the move. Although the exact nature of the transfer has not been disclosed, such large-scale withdrawals from major exchanges are often interpreted as strong whale accumulation.

Some commentators have suggested that this could be an over-the-counter deal that might not directly affect Bitcoin’s price. Still, the sheer size of the transfer has sparked hopes that something major is brewing.

Bitcoin price heading for recovery?

Beyond the impact of this significant withdrawal, Bitcoin’s price action over the last several hours has offered relief to investors, surging back above $113,000. After recording an intraday low of $111,591, sentiment has shifted toward optimism for a bigger rally.

Following sharp declines the previous day, BTC has briefly turned green, posting a modest daily gain of 0.16%. As of press time, CoinMarketCap data shows Bitcoin trading at $112,913.

Source: CoinMarketCap

While price action on Tuesday remains mixed, Bitcoin appears to be gradually gearing up for a major breakout. The large whale withdrawal from Coinbase signals a bullish shift in investor sentiment and could indicate that BTC is preparing for larger moves ahead.

Nonetheless, additional whale activity may be necessary to sustain upward momentum and push Bitcoin toward a significant breakout.

XRP Hourly Volume Soars 203% on Kraken, What’s Happening?

by admin September 14, 2025

According to CoinGlass data, XRP suddenly saw a 203% hourly volume spike on the United States-based major cryptocurrency exchange Kraken as traders flocked in to profit from the recent market volatility.

The surge comes as spot U.S. traders continue to show interest in XRP, the third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization amid ETF optimism. REX-Osprey ETFs have passed the SEC’s 75-day review and are expected to launch soon, with products including an XRP ETF.

In the last 24 hours, XRP has attracted $73,588,344 in trading volume on Kraken, ranking among the top traded assets on the crypto exchange.

You Might Also Like

XRP has recorded $6.67 billion in trading volume in the last 24 hours, marking a 31% increase, according to CoinMarketCap data.

The crypto market has seen upside action in the last 24 hours with the majority of digital assets posting significant gains, including XRP.

XRP price action

XRP continued its rally in the early Saturday trading session, up 3% in the last 24 hours to $3.14. The cryptocurrency is on course to mark its fourth day of rise since Sept. 9, having broadly risen since the Sept. 1 low of $2.69.

You Might Also Like

The rise has surpassed the daily SMA 50 at $3.01, which has capped XRP’s price since Aug. 19. With this crucial barrier removed and a high of $3.18 reached on Saturday, the next barrier remains at $3.38 and $3.66.

If a decisive breach above these key levels is achieved, XRP might aim at $4. So far, XRP is up 15% in September, a month historically deemed bearish for cryptocurrencies. In the event of a drop, XRP would seek to flip the daily SMA 50 barrier at $3 into support.

$1.2 Billion in Solana Moved in Mere Minutes, What’s Happening?

by admin September 12, 2025

Solana has seen dramatic moves among whales in the last hour as the token continues to trend upwards today.

As enthusiasm appears to be returning to the crypto market, on-chain tracking firm Whale Alert has spotted Solana whales pulling large amounts of SOL from the leading U.S. crypto exchange on September 11.

According to data provided by the source, Solana has recorded a series of high-volume transfers in the last hour, seeing over $1.2 billion worth of Solana being moved among large holders.

More specifically, the transfers happened in a series of 7 separate transactions, each seeing hundreds of thousands of SOL tokens move between Coinbase Institutional and different unknown wallets.

Solana whales resurge with billion dollar moves

Among the pack of high-volume SOL transfers witnessed during the period, the largest of them all involved 1,756,934 SOL worth $398.84 million being mysteriously exchanged among two unknown wallets.

While the transaction did not involve the service of any crypto exchange, it is difficult to tell if the move was an attempt to buy or sell the tokens, pointing to a possible internal reshuffling of assets by large holders.

On the other hand, the smallest of the moves happened in two repeated identical transfers of 439,233 SOL worth $99.2 million each. Each of these transfers was pulled from the leading U.S. crypto exchange, signaling major buy activities from high-profile investors or institutions.

Other transactions involved 999,999 SOL worth $225.68 million moved from an unknown wallet to Coinbase Institutional, 755,934 SOL worth $171.20 million transferred back from an unknown wallet to Coinbase Institutional, and 505,935 SOL worth $114.70 million moved among two unknown wallets.

While the move appears bullish for the Solana ecosystem, the repeated major activities which happened in dramatic consecutive order signal heightening interest from institutional investors or high-profile entities holding large amounts of SOL.

With these bullish moves coinciding with the broad crypto market rebound, market watchers are keeping a close eye on SOL price action as they remain optimistic that the large whale transfers could sustain the ongoing rally, pushing Solana’s price beyond expected highs.

There’s A 60-Minute Nintendo Direct Happening This Friday

by admin September 11, 2025

Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct is coming this Friday, on Sept. 12. It will begin at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET and run for about 60 minutes.

As for what to expect, Nintendo simply says, “Tune in for roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games,” noting that it will be streamed on YouTube and via its news-focused Nintendo Today app.

If we put our speculation caps on, it seems likely we’ll see more of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which launches on Oct. 16 and has the potential to be the best Pokémon game in years, Metroid Prime 4, which doesn’t yet have a release date despite Nintendo stating it’s launching this year, and Kirby Air Riders, which launches in November. Beyond that, it wouldn’t be surprising to get some game reveals and more.

Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to find out because the Nintendo Direct happens this week, on Friday, Sept. 12.

In the meantime, read Game Informer’s Metroid Prime 4 preview, and then check out everything we learned in the recent Kirby Air Riders Direct. After that, check out how Mega Hawlucha and Mega Victreebel are coming to Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

What do you hope to see during Friday’s Nintendo Direct? Let us know in the comments below!

Life Is Strange TV Series Officially Happening After 9 Years

by admin September 7, 2025

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that its Life is Strange TV series is officially going ahead with a greenlight order. The TV series is based on the game franchise and has been ordered straight to series. The show’s creator and showrunner is Charlie Covell, who previously adapted The End of the F***king World and Kaos.

Square Enix, which owns the rights to the game series, is producing the TV show, along with Sonic the Hedgehog movie producers Story Kitchen and Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap.

“It’s a huge honor to be adapting Life Is Strange for Amazon MGM Studios,” Covell said in a statement. “I am a massive fan of the game, and I’m thrilled to be working with the incredible teams at Square Enix, Story Kitchen and LuckyChap.”

The story of the TV series will follow Max and Chloe, the two main characters from the first game. The conceit in the game is that Max can rewind time, but obviously a lot of horrible stuff happens.

“I can’t wait to share Max and Chloe’s story with fellow players and new audiences alike,” Covell said.

A TV show based on Life is Strange has been in the works for nearly a decade, but this is the first time it’s actually receiving an official order to me made. In 2021, it was revealed that singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes was in the mix to oversee the music in the show, but it’s unclear if that’s still the case.

It’s been a busy week for news about film and TV video game adaptations. Before this, Paramount announced a Call of Duty movie, Amazon announced Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in its Tomb Raider series, Netflix cancelled The Legend of Lara Croft, and the Street Fighter movie got a release date and cast.

Life is Strange joins not only the Tomb Raider series at Amazon, but also a long-in-development God of War series and Season 2 of Fallout. Amazon also has the Mass Effect TV show and the Wolfenstein TV show.

The Life is Strange series was created by French developer Dontnod and launched in 2015. It spawned multiple sequels, the latest of which was 2024’s Life is Strange: Double Exposure from Deck Nine.

Apple’s iPhone 17 Event Is Happening Sept. 9. How to Watch

by admin September 2, 2025

Apple’s annual fall iPhone launch event is just around the corner. Last week, the company sent out invites for its fall keynote, which is slated for Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. PT. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, which could include a slimmer version of the phone, as well as the Apple Watch Series 11 and the AirPods Pro 3.

The invite shows the title “Awe dropping,” with a glowing Apple logo that seems to reference Siri’s colorful glow. There’s also an interactive element when you view the invite on Apple.com. With a finger (phone or tablet) or a mouse/trackpad pointer (computer), you can move across the logo and watch the colors go from a cool blue to a vivid orange, possibly evoking the Liquid Glass design element in iOS 26, which exhibits light-bending qualities across apps and functions. You can read more theories about what the fall event invite might signify.

The keynote will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. CNET will be covering the announcements live, so be sure to follow along.

How to watch Apple’s iPhone 17 reveal

Technically, Apple has yet to confirm the iPhone 17, but the company’s fall event is where it typically unveils its latest handsets.

You can tune into the iPhone 17 event live by watching the official livestream on the Apple website or via the livestream on Apple’s YouTube channel. Those streams are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on Sept. 9, 2025. CNET’s reporters will also be on the ground and bringing you all the updates.

What might Apple be cooking up?

Rumors for the upcoming slate of iPhones have been plentiful. Stealing the spotlight is the supposed iPhone 17 Air, which could follow in the footsteps of Samsung’s sleek Galaxy S25 Edge and have a slim profile and lightweight design. The Pro model could get a scratch-resistant antireflective display and an 8x telephoto lens, and the Pro Max could pack a bigger battery. The baseline iPhone 17 could also boast a higher refresh rate. It’s possible that all the phones may include an Apple-developed 5G modem called the C1 chip, which debuted on the iPhone 16E, as well as in-house Wi-Fi chips.

We also expect to learn more about the public rollout of iOS 26 later this fall. The new operating system features a Liquid Glass interface that brings a more transparent, lens-like look to the iPhone and other Apple devices. The Camera app also gets a more minimalistic design, Messages lets you create polls in group chats and a new screening tool can better detect spam texts. You can check out all the features coming to iOS 26.

Watch this: Apple Will Reveal the iPhone 17 Soon. Here’s What We Want

Will there be a Siri overhaul?

What we might not hear as much about is the updated version of Siri that Apple unveiled at its Worldwide Developers Conference last year. The smarter version of the AI assistant has faced repeated delays and may not arrive until next year or even later. But Apple could discuss other Apple Intelligence updates and features arriving on its new devices.

CNET’s reporters will be on the ground on Sept. 9, bringing you all the latest updates and impressions of whatever Apple has in store.

ConcernedApe announces Stardew Valley 1.7 update is happening

by admin September 1, 2025

Stardew Valley isn’t going anywhere. ConcernedApe just announced he’s working on even more content for the mega-popular game, confirming a 1.7 update is indeed in the works.

Despite having been released over nine years ago now, Stardew Valley only grows more popular with each passing day. Just this July, it made history by becoming Steam’s top-rated game of all time.

While a full-fledged sequel has been considered, updates to the base game are what maintain and even grow the cozy game’s community. The occasional quality of life tweak is one thing, but for solo dev ConcernedApe, a new update means a whole lot more.

Following the release of the jam-packed 1.6 update, many assumed Stardew Valley was finished once and for all, but now we have confirmation that’s not the case. A 1.7 update is in the works and here’s what we know.

Stardew Valley 1.7 update confirmed

ConcernedApe took to the stage in Seattle, Washington, on August 30, 2025. This night kicked off the second Stardew Valley world tour for the Symphony of Seasons. It was here that he announced plans to continue supporting the game.

“I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag,” he later shared on X (formerly Twitter). “There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening.”

Okay, I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag, so I will confirm for everyone: There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening pic.twitter.com/RnNgc3ERER

— ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) August 30, 2025

Beyond mere confirmation, any other details are being kept close to the chest. There’s no quite telling just yet whether this update will introduce new areas, characters, items, secrets, and the like, or moreso focus on additional features and refinements.

Article continues after ad

If we were to hedge our bets, though, we’d bet the house on there being plenty of new content for long-time fans to get excited about.

When could the 1.7 update release for Stardew Valley?

As ConcernedApe made clear from the jump, there is no release date or even a rough release window at this point in time. The 1.7 update will simply be ready when it’s ready.

Given he works alone to this day, these things take time. From new music to pixel art and, of course, the coding itself, ConcernedApe is doing it all. Thus, it’d be safe to assume we’re still a ways out.

Article continues after ad

For context, below is a quick overview of when all the previous major Stardew Valley updates were released over the past decade.

Timeline of past Stardew Valley updates:

  • 1.0 – February 26, 2016
  • 1.1 – October 3, 2016
  • 1.2 – April 24, 2017
  • 1.3 – August 1, 2018
  • 1.4 – November 26, 2019
  • 1.5 – December 21, 2020
  • 1.6 – March 19, 2024

As you can see, the biggest gap yet was between 1.5 and the most recent update in 1.6. While we wouldn’t expect 1.7 to take another three and a bit years, it’d be wise not to hold your breath based on this trend.

However, it is worth noting that the game itself launched in full back in February 2016. Thus, February 26, 2026, marks the 10-year anniversary of Stardew Valley. There’s no guarantee, of course, but this would certainly be a great occasion to tease new details about the 1.7 update.

Will it impact ConcernedApe’s other game Haunted Chocolatier?

Like millions of fans, you might be wondering how the continued development of Stardew Valley might impact ConcernedApe’s next game, Haunted Chocolatier. We’ve known about the next game since 2021, with the dev confirming he’d been working on it from as early as 2020.

Article continues after ad

There’s still no release date in sight for Haunted Chocolatier, and with the 1.7 update now on the agenda too, it could hold it back even longer.

ConcernedApe was quick to assure fans on social media, that won’t be the case. “My plan is that this will not hinder Haunted Chocolatier development,” he said.

My plan is that this will not hinder Haunted Chocolatier development

— ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) August 30, 2025

The best laid plans can always change, of course, so do take the comment with a grain of salt for now. At the time of writing, there’s no quite telling when we might see either the 1.7 update or Haunted Chocolatier, but rest assured ConcernedApe is toiling away.

Ethereum Whales Return With $213 million ETH Purchase, What’s Happening?

by admin August 27, 2025

With the broad cryptocurrency market showing signs of a brief rebound, whales appear to be exiting the market regardless.

On August 27, on-chain monitoring company Whale Alert reported a massive Ethereum deposit in a mysterious move that appears to be an attempt to sell.

The major ETH transfer, which happened in a matter of minutes, saw a total of 33,622 ETH flow into the U.S.-based crypto exchange Coinbase. Although the transfers were made in two separate transactions, the total ETH moved in both transactions was worth over $213 million, per data provided by the source.

Following the nature of both transfers, they have been perceived as a major sell attempt from Ethereum whales, as large crypto deposits to crypto trading platforms are pointers to massive selling sprees from high-profile investors or institutions.

Massive ETH dump from whales

It is not uncommon for transfers like this to be executed during moments of high volatility and broad market dips where investors look to secure their capital and avoid major losses. However, these massive Ethereum transfers were spotted when the market was experiencing a sharp rebound in the prices of cryptocurrencies, including leading altcoins like Ethereum, XRP, and Solana.

As such, it appears that long-persisting market correction has seen investors’ confidence go weak, and whales are taking decisive efforts to dump their holdings. Hence, large investors are increasingly spotted selling off their stash in preparation for the supposed bear phase.

You Might Also Like

After multiple days of trading sideways, the market has seen a brief resurgence in the price of Ethereum, flipping from a low of $4,501 to a high of $4,656 within the same day.

While the large ETH deposits to Coinbase in the last hour may not have affected the price performance of the asset during the period, commentators suggest that the move might be mere strategic portfolio redistribution from institutions.

With bearish concerns increasingly lingering within the crypto ecosystem in the past days, investors are worried that bears might be taking over the market, leading to deeper plunges in the prices of cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are renowned for their dominance in the crypto market.

Source: CoinMarketCap

Nonetheless, Ethereum has remained stable on the upside since the time of the transfers, according to data showcased by CoinMarketCap. With Ethereum trading steadily at around $4,642.01, it has surged by nearly 3% in the last 24 hours.
