Genshin Impact’s 5th anniversary log-in event is now live, giving fans a rare chance to claim some free pulls

by admin October 1, 2025

Today is a big day for Genshin Impact and its players. Not only does it see the start of the second phase of the massive Version Luna I update (previously Version 6.0), the game is also kicking off celebrations in honour of last Sunday’s fifth anniversary of its initial launch way back on September 28th, 2020 (where did the time go?).

Whether you’ve been away for a while, or you’re pretty much done with most of the content that arrived with Luna I, now is a great time to come back.

Genshin Impact’s anniversary events are quite a big deal because they’re among the rare occasions where players can directly get free gacha pulls — in particular Intertwined Fate, the currency used to pull on time-limited banners. HoYoverse gifts these pulls to players only twice in a typical year, and one of those is the annual anniversary celebration.

The 5th Anniversary Celebration event “Rainbow’s End: Silvery Flux” is a good excuse to log in, because you’ll be getting 1,600 Primogems in your in-game mail, alongside an event granting 10 Intertwined Fate pulls (alongside some character and artifact levelling materials, plus regular Mora currency) if you just log in for at least seven days over the next three weeks.

There are opportunities to earn even more rewards. If you complete the Archon Quest within the specified window, you can earn 620 Primogems, and a free Aino unlock. And, if you complete exploration missions – also within the specified duration – you’ll get 400 more Primogems.

The other big news for Phase 2 of this update is the arrival of Flins, who players are very much eager to play as, thanks to so many teasers. Flins is a 5-Star Polearm wielder who fires Lunar-Charged strikes. You can spec him so all of the damage is delivered in a single attack, or split it among smaller attacks. Flins will also make for a great companion if you go on exploring the new Nod-Krai region.

Catch up on all our coverage for Version Luna I (6.0) and its banners at the link, and definitely have a look at our Lauma builds. If you never made it to the new region, here’s how to actually get to Nod-Krai.

Genshin Impact devs’ next game looks so much like Animal Crossing I’m almost not sure why it exists

by admin September 28, 2025

I am genuinely unsure if MiHoYo are capable of making a game that doesn’t heavily borrow from a different game you probably already love at this point in time. Denying The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s influence on Genshin Impact is like denying the sky is blue! Only recently was Honkai: Nexus Anima revealed, a game that takes Pokemon and shoves it into a blender with Auto Chess. And now there is Petit Planet, a game I can only describe as Animal Crossing but if it was in space, I guess.

There are a few differences between the Nintendo classic and MiHoYo’s borderline wholesale ripoff. For one, the animal people feel much more akin to fursonas than just anthropomorphic animals. And there’s the fact that, rather than living on an island like in AC: New Horizons, you live on tiny planets, of which there are a number you can visit.

Watch on YouTube

It looks like there’s a lot of customisation options too, from different clothes, to houses that can be built and interiors that can be designed. You can also visit other players’ islands, go fishing, grow vegetables. Honestly, it’s a bit hard to figure out just how different Petit Planet is from Animal Crossing aside from aesthetics. Which kind of begs the question, why does this even exist?

Well, the likeliest answer is that Animal Crossing: New Horizons was removed from sale in China following in-game protests performed by people in Hong Kong. That means there’s a wide open market for a big budget game like that! For the rest of us, it looks like just more of the same thing you already like, but with a higher chance of getting more updates than New Horizons did. Congratulations to those of you that think games that don’t need infinite updates should get them anyway!

In any case, if you are still curious about the game, and want to see if it truly is just an Animal Crossing clone, you can sign-up to beta test the game here.

After Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, gacha master HoYoverse set its sights on the Animal Crossing-like cosy sim genre

by admin September 27, 2025

Petit Planet – a new cosy life sim from the creators of Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail – has been announced.

The game currently has PC and mobile versions confirmed, with “additional platforms” in development according to the official press release alongside the reveal. Petit Planet has you build up and develop your own tiny planet, eventually venturing out into a galaxy filled with other planets owned by cutesy NPCs.

A reveal trailer (which you can watch below) showcases what the game will look like, with a character building up a nice little home, meeting various animal friends, before hopping in a car and taking to the stars to meet a cast of other furry fellows on their own home planets.

Here’s the Petit Planet reveal trailer!Watch on YouTube

Those interested can pre-register for the game right now on the official website, as well as sign up for upcoming beta tests. There’s no word as to when these beta tests will occur or when the sign ups will close as of writing.

Rumours around a HoYoverse life sim have been circulating for a while, with the internal name Astaweave Haven known thanks to early leaks. However, this recent reveal marks the first official word on the game as well as the first peak we’ve been able to get of polished gameplay.

There is no information on how monetisation will work for Petit Planet, though given this is a HoYoverse game the expectation is that the game will feature gacha mechanics as found in Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero.

This isn’t the only game HoYoverse has in the works. The developer revealed Honkai: Nexus Anima earlier this year, a Pokemon-style creature collector and auto-battler. Petit Planet has entered a somewhat contested genre, interestingly enough. Both Pocket Pair and Nintendo have announced their own cosy farm sims in Palfarm and Pokémon Pokopia.

Genshin Impact is teaming up with Among Us to celebrate its fifth anniversary

Genshin Impact is teaming up with Among Us to celebrate its fifth anniversary

by admin September 10, 2025

Today is a big one in the world of Genshin Impact. The long-awaited Version Luna 1 update – formerly known as version 6.0 – has arrived, bringing with it the game’s seventh major region, Nod-Krai.

But that’s not the only thing worth getting out of bed for, because Genshin is also celebrating its fifth anniversary with a whole lot of community content, and an unexpected collaboration.

MiHoYo announced that it’s celebrating the release of Version Luna 1, and the game’s fifth anniversary, with a number of events, both in-game and outside of it. The biggest one, of course, is the special collaboration with Among Us.

Available from September 10 to October 10, this particular event lets you unlock Paimon Cosmetic Set for free in Among Us, simply by logging into the game. The set comes with the Paimon Wig, Paimon Costume and a Crest of the Best Travel Companion Nameplate – all of which are available to use in Among Us.

It’s a little strange that you don’t get anything in Genshin Impact as part of that collaboration, but there are plenty of freebies you’ll be earning on that side of the aisle simply by logging in. Some of the rewards include a free 5-Star character from the Standard Wish Pool, as well as enough ascension materials to get it to level 60. Starting now, you’ll also receive ten Intertwined Fates, 1,600 Primogems, two special Nod-Krai-themed gadgets (in the mail), and more.

Watch on YouTube

The celebrations also extend to some community events, which include a new HoYoFair Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program. This two-hour show will feature plenty of content from fans and MiHoYo, and it’s set to air on September 20.

In case you missed it, Version Luna 1 is a significant update for Genshin Impact, adding a lot more than the new playable area, new characters, new story chapter, and new mechanics. It also comes with changes to some of the game’s systems to make for a smoother levelling experience.

If you’re planning to jump in today, be sure to check out our guide that’ll help you learn all the ways to get to Nod-Krai, and don’t forget to browse the list of our most updated Genshin Impact codes.

Paimon in Among Us.

In a world of cursed videogame collaborations, Genshin Impact being in Among Us might be a top contender

by admin September 9, 2025

Nope, it’s not a trick of the eye: Genshin Impact is making its way into Among Us. I don’t know either.

It’s somehow not even the most cursed gacha game matchup to happen in recent months—Infinity Nikki just wrapped up a rather drama-mired Stardew Valley collab, and gooner gacha Nikke is about to have Jill Valentine all caked up to fight some Raptures—but I’m still not sure how I feel about seeing a tiny little crewmate all uwu’d up.

🤫🔪#GenshinXAmongUs #ItStartsInNodKrai pic.twitter.com/vbsCSB61AmSeptember 8, 2025

The whole thing is part of celebrating Genshin’s upcoming 6.0 version, Luna I, which launches the same day as the collaboration. It’s adding new region Nod-Krai, story quests, and of course new banner characters to roll precious primogems on.

Among Us will be getting a Paimon costume—complete with wig and crown and everything—along with a Genshin-themed nameplate. In the collaboration announcement, Innersloth says “One of the Crewmates has been obsessed with playing Genshin Impact between tasks, so we had the pleasure of working with HoYoverse to cook up these cosmetics and satisfy your Paimon-ial needs for free.”

The Creation of Sus ඞ#GenshinXAmongUs #ItStartsInNodKrai #GenshinImpact #原神 pic.twitter.com/9kcSZn9PbsSeptember 8, 2025

Of course, the idea of Paimon being a spaceship imposter has the artistically skilled going absolutely wild on X, and it’s a rare occasion where I can say my timeline has been utterly blessed with some of the most absurd Genshin/Among Us art known to man right now.

The collaboration starts on September 10 and runs for an entire month, ending on October 10. Sadly there’ll be no tiny spacesuit dweebs running around Teyvat anytime soon, but folks who log into Genshin Impact will be able to grab a free five-star unit, including:

  • Dehya
  • Keqing
  • Mona
  • Qiqi
  • Jean
  • Tighnari
  • Diluc
  • Mizuki

While collaborations are pretty rare for Genshin—which probably explains a lack of anything Among Us-y—Innersloth’s social deception game has been going full Fortnite as of late. It’s added in cosmetics from the likes of Yakuza, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, Ace Attorney, Vox Machina, and Undertale over the years.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Crewmates have also shown up in the likes of Balatro, Super Monkey Ball, Vampire Survivors, and The Binding of Isaac.

Genshin Impact 6.0 isn’t actually called that, will instead be known as “Version Luna 1”, and is coming in early September

by admin August 29, 2025

We’ve been waiting for this one! After a few teasers, including as recently as gamescom – featuring a very hot anime man, MiHoYo has finally lifted the veil off the major upcoming Genshin Impact chapter.

This is what you may have been expecting would be called version 6.0. Its official name was revealed to be Version Luna 1, which could signal a change in what these will be called going forward.

Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue is the name of this particular episode, and it’s only the first part of what the developer says will be a year-long Song of the Welkin Moon saga.

Version Luna 1, or Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue, will arrive in Genshin Impact globally on September 10. If you’ve been following the action RPG with any regularity, you’ll no doubt be aware that it introduces the new Nod-Krai region.

After you install the update, you’ll be able to sail north towards the new region – provided you’ve completed Mondstadt’s main story and and reached AR 28. Nod-Krai is made up of three islands. This kicks off the new Archon Quests, where you’re going to accompany Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and learn more about the conflict with the Fatui. The same quest can be started after finishing Liyue’s storyline.

Hot boy Flins is the second ally in this story, who, with your help, may resist the Wild Hunt. There’s a major story thread about a plot to claim the moon’s power (!) by the Fatui, and that’s where Fatui Harbinger, Marionette, comes in. There’s another Harbinger in this story, too, one who’s retreated to her birthplace in Nod-Krai. She’s referred to as The Damselette, and she’s worshiped as the Moon Maiden. And you do want to meet her, because you may get a buff or two to help you out.

Watch on YouTube

Nod-Krai is home to an elemental force called Kuuvahki, which you can draw upon. It can sometimes take the firm of the Kuuhenki, an elemental lifeform. Kuuvahki, of course, can be used in combat, with the big new special being Lunar Reactions.

Three new companions, who hail from the same region, will join the roster. Lauma is a 5-Star Moonchanter and Catalyst wielder. She’s the first to utilise the new Lunar-Bloom reaction, which grants her her Verdant Dew that she uses to boost the team’s Bloom damage.

The recently-teased Flins is another 5-Star companion. A Polearm wielder, Flins fires Lunar-Charged strikes that can either be delivered in a massive single attack, or turn into a storm of smaller spear attacks. If you bring him along with you as you explore, he may lead you to some discoveries, thanks to his ability to hear the whispers of the Wild Hunt

The third and final new addition is Aino, a 4-Star Hydro Claymore wielder. Aino is something of a genius, with her mechanical contraptions doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The list includes a duck-shaped device she calls Knuckle Duckle, which is just delightful. Aino will join your team for free if you progress the new Archon Quests in Nod-Krai.

It doess look pretty cool! | Image credit: MiHoYo.

Did we mention that this is a stacked update? Meeting Points is one of the new features arriving with Version Luna 1. MiHoYo says it will let you “step into the daily lives” of your companions, which sort of sounds like royalty missions from Mass Effect and other RPGs.

Lauma will be available immediately upon the update’s release, who will arrive with the rerun of Nahida in the Event Wishes. The update’s second half is what’s going to add Flins, Aino, and bring back Yelan.

Elsewhere in this episde, you can look forward to a few big tweaks to Adventure EXP, which can now be earned from more sources. MiHoYo is adding materials to the battle pass rewards, too. It will also now be possible to preview the locked affix of any Artifact in advance. If you have too many parties already, you’ll be happy to learn that you can save more team presets. One of the biggest additions is a new item – Masterless Stella Fortuna – which lets you use any extra 5-Star Stella Fortuna you might have acquired over the years — available retroactively from when you opened your account! — to push a character beyond the cap and up to level 100.

If you log in when the update arrives, you’ll find a host of freebies waiting for you, such as a free 5-Star character of your choice (from the Standard Wish Pool), Primogems, and more.

Watch on YouTube

HoYoverse also took this opportunity to reveal more details about Miliastra Wonderland, which brings UGC gameplay elements into Genshin Impact. Creators can create stages using the Miliastra Sandbox editor for all players to enjoy.

You can pull from the game’s many existing assets to create your content. We’ll have to wait until Version Luna 2 before we can get our hands on it, but the trailer above shows off some of what’s possible.

Honkai Nexus Anima revealed, a spin-off creature collector from Genshin Impact studio

by admin August 29, 2025

Honkai Nexus Anima has just been officially revealed. It’s a creature collection game where you gather up a team of friendly critters and have them duke it out in auto-battler style combat. You can sign up for the closed beta test now.

Coming from the same company behind Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, and Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai Nexus Anima appears to be another drastic genre departure for the gacha developer. It’s been in rumoured development for a while, but today marks the first official showing.

When not duking it out in combat, the game is a third person adventure game where you and your gang of lil’ friends can run around, complete side activities, participate in minigames, and more. A small gameplay trailer has been released which you can watch below.

In-game footage from Honkai: Nexus Anima

*The game is under development, and subject to change.
*This Nexus Bond Test is available in 5 languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. Support for more languages will be added in the future.…

Those interested can sign up for the test via the official website, with the recruitment period lasting from now until 12th September. There’s also a giveaway going on to celebrate the event, where social media users who engage with the fresh Honkai Nexus Anima account can win access to the closed beta test, some cash, and a bobble box set.

As for when the game will leave the closed beta period, there’s no official word as of yet. However, Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai Star Rail moved quite swiftly from beta windows to a full release. So even if you don’t get in, keep an eye out for more news on Honkai Nexus Anima.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

Genshin Impact’s IRL event at gamescom teases Nod-Krai, Version 6.0, and yet another handsome anime man you’d better start saving your Primogems for

by admin August 21, 2025

Genshin Impact’s big annual update is not far off. Thanks to this year’s gamescom, we’ve got our first look at one of the new characters joining the game’s roster with the upcoming expansion: Flins, the latest in Genshin’s long line of eligible-and-they-know-it husbandos — and if you’re a longtime player, you’ve probably been expecting him.

The other highlight of the next version, of course, is the new Nod-Krai region, which is something those in attendance at the show will get to experience first-hand.

Genshin Impact is hosting an offline experience at its booth at gamescom to show off the new Nod-Krai region. We sadly can’t experience that from the comfort of our homes, but this fresh look at Flins is nothing to scoff at.

Flins is a warrior from the Lightkeepers, a faction that hails from Nod-Krai, and he’s part of a new story chapter that will kick off with the game’s annual major version update. Today’s trailer teases a bit of that narrative, too. Version 6.0 is set to arrive in September, which is when we’ll be able to get our hands on all that.

There’s clearly a lot more that’s being kept under wraps, but we won’t have to wait too long to learn all remaining details. The next Genshin Impact livestream will be taking place on the last Friday of the month, and that’s when all will be revealed.

In case you missed it, Genshin Impact’s developer recently announced plans to drop support for PS4, and raise system requirements on PC and mobile. Not all of these changes will take place at once, but you should probably prepare for that day if your device is affected.

If you’re looking for some guidance on how to complete the Traces of Chroma quest, or need help reaching Tenochtitlan Harbor, hit up those links for our detailed guides. As ever, the massive Genshin Impact codes page is never not useful.
