EA Reveals College Football 26 Gameplay Additions And Improvements Alongside First Trailer

by admin May 30, 2025

EA Sports College Football 26 steps onto the gridiron on July 10, and EA has shared the first gameplay details after revealing the cover athletes yesterday. Players can expect over 2,700 new plays, a fresh roster of collegiate players and coaches, and other tweaks to last year’s modes and features.

This year’s edition features 300 real-world coaches, including Dan Lanning, Kirby Smart, and James Franklin. Player types and abilities have been expanded with 84 total abilities and 10 new archetypes. Player fatigue and injuries can be managed without pausing the action and customized to fit your playstyle. Enhanced AI, dynamic play-calling adjustments, and improved blocking and coverages bolster the core gameplay.

In terms of presentation and immersion, College Football 26 features a revamped Stadium Pulse system that introduces new crowd challenges such as clock distortion, extreme screen shake, and rattled HUDs in rivalry and playoff games. Players will hear over 160 new school-specific chants, 10 new PA tracks (including Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”), and well-known visuals like Texas Tech’s Double T Saddle Monument and Coastal Carolina’s King of Turnovers. The commentary team includes Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack.

This year’s Dynasty mode features expanded College Football Playoffs with cross-play support for Online Dynasty. New Dynamic Dealbreakers allow you to avoid player transfers, and you can upload your program using advanced Team Builder customization tools. Road to Glory, which lets you guide a high school student from rookie prospect to Heisman winner, returns, and you can continue your player’s journey in Madden NFL 26. Road to the College Football Playoff features a new online progression format to ensure every win matters.

EA Sports College Football launches on July 10 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our review of last year’s game here.

Switch 2 will bring new features to NSO's Nintendo 64 catalogue, including the ability to rewind gameplay

Switch 2 will bring new features to NSO’s Nintendo 64 catalogue, including the ability to rewind gameplay

by admin May 28, 2025

In the run up to the Switch 2’s release next week (next week!), Nintendo has released a new video highlighting the changes N64 classics will have on the console’s debut.

Those with a Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack subscription are able to play classic games from the N64 days, such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Pokémon Snap, and a personal favourite, GoldenEye 007.

And soon, those on Switch 2 will be able to play these games, and then rewind them when things don’t go quite as planned (what, that has never happened to me), pop on a CRT screen filter and remap the controls. You can check out how this all looks via the video below.

Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics: Features Update. Watch on YouTube

While those on the original Switch consoles won’t be able to utilise that rewind feature or the CRT screen filter, they will be able to remap the controls when this update goes live.

As to when all this is happening, that would be next Thursday, 5th June. That’s the day Switch 2 releases.

In the meantime while we wait patiently for next week, you can check out the full run down of games available on Nintendo’s subscription service via our handy guide: All Nintendo Switch Online games available to play right now.

As for the Switch 2, while it is not technically available just yet, some have managed to get their hands on the console early. Last night, footage was shared online of someone unpacking their new console, however they were unable to play it due to it requiring a day one update to function. Nintendo obviously didn’t seem best pleased with this video making the rounds online, and soon removed the footage from the internet.

Tekken 8 players livid after Fahkumram gameplay, Armor King reveal

Tekken 8 players livid after Fahkumram gameplay, Armor King reveal

by admin May 28, 2025

Tekken 8 is not sitting well with its community, and the latest gameplay trailer for Fahkumram didn’t do them any favors.

Bandai Namco released the trailer on May 26, showing off the character’s move set, motivations for fighting, and subtle changes to the fighter’s design. The returning character will arrive as paid DLC on July 8 in early access and July 11 in general access, a part of Tekken 8’s Version 2.03 update.

And if that wasn’t enough, Bandai Namco included a teaser for Armor King — another returning character — toward the end of the trailer. A specific release date wasn’t provided for the fan-favorite fighter, but is currently planned for a fall release.

Neither reveal completely won over an already agitated Tekken community. Armor King appeared to garner mixed views from players, with some excited about getting King’s rival back in the fray, but others weren’t impressed with his inclusion.

“Honestly, I had low hope that he would come back. But I’m so glad he’s coming back now,” a player commented on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“THE GREATAST MOTHERFUCKIN CHARACTER IN TEKKEN HISTORY IS BACK!” one passionate fan typed, misspelling “greatest” out of sheer excitement.

“LMAO, you know what’s funny,” someone else quipped. “They had to reveal this dude cuz they’re trying so hard to return the player base after [messing] up the start of this season & revealing Fahkumram a dlc character from the previous title that nobody liked.”

And speaking of Fahkumram, the community’s ill feelings toward him did not waver — gameplay or not, they’re still unimpressed. Players threw out a slew of comments calling the reveal “the most boring DLC trailer” and insisting they would “never like him.”

Other commentary called out Bandai Namco for choosing to recycle Tekken 7 DLC and repurposing those characters for Tekken 8.

“Man said we are paying for the same characters from T7 DLC all over again,” said one fan.

“Why almost all of the DLC is DLC from Tekken 7?” questioned another account.

“Real talk…No,” one player posted. “Could have added these people into the regular roster and bought back some we have not seen in a while like Bruce, Christie or made new characters for Tekken 8 DLC. used to have imagination in the industry.”

Along with the mixed reviews of Tekken 8’s DLC, the game’s gameplay and mechanics have been a touchy subject, with the community irked by the devs making input changes to legacy characters. Gameplay changes were also made to a huge part of the character roster, adding forced 50/50 options with no defensive answers to respond.

Tekken 8’s Version 2.02 and 2.03 are arriving in June and July so, these issues may be addressed. But as of right now, things are not looking too great for the Tekken 8 community.

This year’s Oblivion remasters got you desperate for a more modern Morrowind? Then come Nerevar, Skywind’s just put out a fresh gameplay showcase

by admin May 27, 2025

Sure, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Skyblivion either already have dropped this year or are set to arrive before 2025 is done. But the people crave more revamps of classic TES games, and the modders behind Skywind – a remake of Morrowind in Skyrim’s engine – have just dropped a fresh gameplay showcase.

Yep, in case you forgot, a group of folks have been dilligently working away on their own modernised interpretation of the game about taking a long walk to a mountain so the most charismatic being ever to rock a loincloth/mask combo can chat you up because you’re a reincarnation of his dead mate.

This latest look at Skywind is a 20-minute long run through of the Imperial Legion quest to rescue Joncis Dalomax, a knight errant who’s ended up stuck in the Daedric Shrine of Ashurnibibi.

After picking up the mission from Imsin the Dreamer, whose revamped templar knight armour looks damn cool here, at the Buckmoth Legion Fort south of Ald’ruhn, the devs’ Dunmer adventurer makes their way to the shrine, running into a bandit shakdown on the way. They score bonus TES points for emplying the age-old tactic of giving up some cash, then immediately murder-deathing the robber to get it back.

Watch on YouTube

While there are plenty of cool details – I like the slightly Morrowindy visual flair that’s been added to the ver SkyUI-ish interface all of these Skyrim engine conversions have to use – the aspect of this gameplay showcase I found the most interesting is the architecture of Ashurnibibi. Sure, the exterior of the ruin looks quite Skyrim fort-ish, but once the player’s inside, you can see how much work’s gone into re-creating Morrowind’s otherworldly and jagged Daedric architecture. There are funky patterns on the walls, those weird doors, and murals of death providing the background for skirmishes with the likes of Daedroth and Dremora.

Naturally, this latest bit of gameplay concludes with an update from the Skywind team on their progress, and while the mod’s still without a concrete release date right now, it souns like things are coming along nicely.

“The team has been hard at work this past year and we are excited to share that all 2D art and writing for the base game has now been completed,” the vid’s narrator says, “Other recent advancements include major progress towards creature models and animations, as well as an extensive overhaul of weather, water, and lighting. Additionally, almost all 3000 NPCs have now been cast and voiced.”

Then then go through exactly how each aspect of the mod is progressing, with the bit that caught my attention being that someone’s still needed to play the most important voice acting role – Dagoth Ur. Vivec and Yagrum Bagarn are also still in need of voicebox providers.

Aside from that, the mod team’s looking for volunteers to help develop Skywind, with anyone who has experience “creating 3D clothing models, mixing and mastering voice acting, and implementing assets via the Creation Kit”. Voice file editors, navmeshers, and localisers are also in demand – if any of those fit you, you can head to the mod’s site to apply.

If you want to keep reading about modding that involves revamped versions of old Elder Scrolls games, make sure to check out our series of interviews with Oblivion Remastered modders who’ve been doing cool things – the latest is with ColdTyrant, who’s added a bunch of new faction quests (one of which includes a gacha reward system run by a beloved Morrowind character).

Naughty Dog's New IP Intergalactic Has The "Deepest" Gameplay The Studio Has Ever Done

Naughty Dog’s New IP Intergalactic Has The “Deepest” Gameplay The Studio Has Ever Done

by admin May 25, 2025

Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann has further discussed the company’s upcoming new IP, Intergalatic: The Heretic Prophet, saying it offers the “deepest” gameplay for any game the studio has made so far. Druckmann also briefly discussed the backlash from some people to the game’s unveiling.

Speaking to Last Stand Media (via PC Gamer), Druckmann said he’s “very, very excited” for Intergalactic, adding that “it’s the deepest gameplay we’ve ever done.” It’s not exactly clear what he means by that, but we should find out in time. “I can’t wait to show it off,” Druckmann said.

A scene from Intergalactic.

The reveal trailer for Intergalactic showed main character Jordan A. Mun in a spaceship before she descended down onto a planet to fight a giant robot enemy with a red sword. The trailer cut out just as the action was set to begin, so we can only guess as to what happens next.

Also in the interview, Druckmann reacted to some of the controversy surrounding Intergalactic, and specifically the misogynistic and racist comments directed at Tati Gabrielle, who plays Mun.

“I don’t know if there’s much I could add to that conversation, to be honest,” Druckmann said. “There’s stuff happening with media right now that you just have to ignore for the most part, just stick to your guns, and do what you believe in. And I feel like that’s how I want artists to carry themselves.”

Gabrielle herself said she received “a lot of love” about her playing the lead in Naughty Dog’s new game, but there was also “lot of hate over me being a woman, me being a woman of color, me having my head shaved; all these things…”

She said Druckmann told her to ignore it and have faith that Naughty Dog is “going to make something that we’re proud of.”

Intergalactic, which Druckmann is directing, is in the works now for PS5, but it doesn’t have a release date. It’s not the only game that Naughty Dog is currently building, as it’s also making at least one other single-player game, which Druckmann is also involved with. It’s unknown what this game is, but some are theorizing that it could be The Last of Us 3.

Meanwhile, HBO’s The Last of Us TV series–which Druckmann is involved with–wraps up its second season on Sunday, May 25. A third season will follow, and a fourth may close the show out.

Praise the Omnissiah, Warhammer 40,000; Mechanicus 2 just got a new gameplay trailer, featuring a short glimpse at a new faction

by admin May 24, 2025

A gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 has just been revealed during today’s Warhammer Skulls event, and it features a special surprise for fans of the newer era of the 40k narrative. The Leagues of Votann, the newest faction added to the tabletop game, are making their video game debut.

This new trailer, which you can watch below, looks like a fancier and shiner update of the first game (which makes sense). Characters present in the first game are making a return including all of your advisors, and you’ll be battling against the Necron once again on Hekateus IV.

Check out the Mechanicus 2 gameplay trailer here!

As for the Leagues of Votann, we see them represented with various units, including Hearthkyn (AI comrades), Beserks, and standard warriors. It’s not clear yet what role they’ll play in the narrative, it seems as though whether or not they’re friend of foe is going to be a major mystery going into the game, but it’s cool to see them get some love in Warhammer’s continued push into the video game space.

Mechanicus 2 is in development right now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it set to release at some point later this year. No exact release date has been revealed quite yet, so you’ll have to hang in there until more info drops. If you’re looking to kill some time and haven’t played the first game, it’s currently on sale on Steam for 80%. It’ll also be free for a while, so at least try it out!

Are you excited to see the League of Votann in action? Let us know below!

New Battlefield 6 gameplay leak is not something fans were hoping for

A new Battlefield 6 leak has surfaced online, and the gameplay we can see from the footage is not what fans have been hoping for.

Judging by the video from the leaked video on X, Battlefield 6 looks to be set in modern times, and not in the past or future, like some of the previous titles, such as Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5.

A certain section of the fanbase was left disappointed with the gameplay quality. One confused it with Battlefield 4, while another claimed, “There is no new taste of play.”

One player feels the gameplay looks “twitchy,” while another chimed in, “I hate the way he’s holding that weapon. It was never like this back in the old days. It looks bad, and I don’t think that’s the normal way of holding a rifle.”

Some fans suggested ways to bring back the franchise to its former glory, the time when players flocked to Battlefield 3 and 4. One player said, “All they have to do is make it like BF3 and 4, and we’re golden with classes and not stupid operators.” “Looks like the same boring sh*t,” said another.

A player compared the footage to the last entry in the BF franchise and said, “Shooting still looks stiff like 2042.” With other competitors in the market like Call of Duty, which offer gameplay based on modern warfare, things can get a little monotonous for some.

One such player thinks, “all modern warfare games look like COD, fast movement, no weight, a lot of gadgets, and no feeling of risk. There’s a tank shooting, and it looks like it’s just playing with lights and smoke coming out of the place, what a joke.”

The leaked footage has everything we’ve seen in the BF games over these years – destruction, chaos, tanks, and the usual game modes. Like the previous games, a total of four players can squad up to take down the opposition.

Battlefield 2042 was the last title from EA way back in November 2021. It’s been more than three years since it was released, and Battlefield 6 is scheduled to release sometime before March 31, 2026. We don’t have an official date yet.
