mXRP rolls out as the first fully DeFi-compatible XRP yield product

by admin September 22, 2025

Midas, in partnership with Axelar and Hyperithm, has launched mXRP, the first XRP yield product of its kind that is fully composable in DeFi.

Summary

  • mXRP lets users mint a transferable ERC-20 token by depositing XRP as collateral, tracking market-neutral yield strategies.
  • The product targets a 6–8% base yield paid in XRP, with additional returns possible through deployment across DeFi protocols.
  • The launch comes amid a surge in XRP yield offerings, but unlike traditional “Earn” products, mXRP stands out as fully DeFi-compatible, offering composable utility.

Tokenization platform Midas has launched mXRP, a tokenized XRP product that operates on the XRP Ledger’s EVM sidechain, with infrastructure and interoperability provided by Axelar.

Users can create mXRP by depositing XRP as collateral, which then follows the performance of underlying yield strategies such as market-making and liquidity provision. Hyperithm, a third-party asset manager, will act as the “risk curator,” managing these strategies, Dennis Dinkelmeyer, co-founder and CEO of Midas, told The Block. The product targets a base yield of 6–8% paid out in XRP.

In addition to the base yield, users can deploy mXRP across DeFi protocols to maximize earnings from their XRP holdings. “Much of the XRP supply has been dormant for years; mXRP provides a transparent mechanism for users to access onchain strategies,” Dinkelmeyer explained.

Georgios Vlachos, co-founder of Axelar, described the structure as making mXRP a “perpetual buyer” of XRP, with yield generated from strategies used to purchase additional XRP that is then distributed to mXRP holders. Vlachos added that if mXRP’s AUM grow to $10 billion by June next year, the product could generate $700 million in annual buying pressure for XRP.

Access to mXRP is restricted in the U.S., U.K., and other sanctioned jurisdictions.

How mXRP sets itself apart in XRP yield market

The launch of mXRP comes amid a rising number of XRP-focused yield products entering the market, such as Doppler Finance’s self-custody XRPfi Prime, which unlocks yield within a hardware wallet, and XRP yield accounts recently launched by MoreMarkets.

However, as Dinkelmeyer explained, those “Earn” products function like traditional savings or lending accounts, whereas mXRP is a transferable ERC-20 token compatible with DeFi. “That composability gives mXRP real utility beyond just holding it,” he said.

It’s also worth noting that XRP yield is beginning to attract significant institutional interest. Notably, Nasdaq-listed VivoPower has recently partnered with Flare to deploy $100 million in XRP through Flare’s scalable FAssets framework, generating institutional-grade yield while reinvesting returns into its holdings.

No Man’s Sky adds fully customisable multi-crew spaceships you can build and fly with your friends

by admin August 27, 2025

Space can be a lonely place, what with it being – as a wise man once famously put it – so vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big and all. Which is where No Man’s Sky new Voyagers update comes in. Now, those long treks across the infinite expanse needn’t be quite so lonely thanks to the introduction of multi-crew space ships you can build, pilot, and stroll around with friends.

Customisable ships – not to be confused with No Man’s Sky’s existing customisable freighters, which essentially serve as gargantuan deep space bases – have been at the top of many a fan’s wishlist for quite some time. And today’s Voyagers update look to deliver and then some. After progressing to a certain point in the story, players gain access to a hangar-like workshop where new Corvette spaceships can be engineered both outside and within. Customisable components include hulls, wings, landing gear, engine parts, thrusters, and weapons, and all can be arranged to suit players’ whims.

And then there’s the habitable interior. “Add sleeping quarters,” developer Hello Games explains, “and you are ready to welcome a crew of friends on board. Add a mission radar and you are ready for adventure. A teleporter and you have an away team.” There’s also talk of med-bays and war rooms, or you can just add a window and watch the universe go by. And for thrillseekers, it’s even possible to flip open the Corvette’s airlock and go for a space walk together or, once within a planet’s atmosphere, sky dive to the ground.

Here’s a look at No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update.Watch on YouTube

While newcomers to No Man’s Sky won’t have immediate access to Corvette construction given its unlock requirements, they’ll still be able to experience the feature in a brand-new limited-time Expedition. Alongside the usual array of cosmetic rewards, this’ll also unlock some ship parts players might find useful when trying to build their own vehicles in the core sim.

Hello Games says it’s had to rework “almost every part” of No Man’s Sky to accommodate Corvettes and their relative spaces, and to ensure crews can still roam their ship’s corridors and continue editing during the likes of warp jumps and planetary approaches. Much of the tech, it says, is shared with its upcoming Light No Fire, which will feature vast oceans players can similarly explore together on a single boat. This isn’t the first time No Man’s Sky has adopted technology implemented for Hello Games’ Earth-sized planet sim.

And it sounds like Hello Games is still far from done. “The most exciting thing about Voyagers for me,” writes Hello Games’ boss Sean Murray, “is the possibilities it opens in the future for No Man’s Sky, and I can’t wait to see where the team takes it from here.” And if you want to know more about No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update, full patch notes can be found over here.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the first fully dust-resistant foldable

by admin August 20, 2025

Finally, a foldable to take to the beach. The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is official, matching last year’s starting MSRP of $1,799, and it comes with an IP68 rating. That means full water and dust resistance, which is something that no other foldable maker has figured out yet — and no small feat for a device with moving parts.

The 10 Pro Fold uses a new hinge with a gear-less design that Google says provides better protection against drops. It certainly feels sturdy, though it didn’t feel overly stiff when I unfolded and folded the phone back up again. The crease on the inner screen doesn’t look any more prominent to my eye, but I’m not usually bothered by the crease anyway.

Very small particles are a particular concern for foldables. A piece of sand or dirt that works its way under the sensitive inner screen can cause it to fail. Folding phones have some protections against particles, like brushes in the hinges to keep dust out, but none had been considered fully dust-tight — until now. Samsung’s IP48-rated Folds and Flips only guarantee protection against objects greater than a millimeter in size, which is bigger than a speck of dust (not to mention many sand grains).

Dust resistance isn’t the only hardware change on the 10 Pro Fold. When folded, the front panel is about a millimeter narrower, making the whole device a tiny bit less wide than the last version. With slimmer bezels, the outer screen measures 6.4 inches compared to 6.3 inches on the 9 Pro Fold, and the 8-inch inner display gets a little brighter in peak brightness mode this time around: 3,000 nits compared to 2,700.

The 10 Pro Fold gets the same high-level updates as the rest of the Pixel 10 series, including the new Tensor G5 chip and Qi2 support. Tensor G5 is at least partially responsible for a slew of new AI features, many of which run on the device itself. There’s a translator for phone calls that mimics the speaker’s voice, something called Magic Cue that proactively finds and suggests relevant bits of information based on context, and a journal app with AI-powered prompts. You can read up on the new AI features in more detail by jumping over to my Pixel 10 and 10 Pro hands-on.

Qi2 is a welcome addition to the Android ecosystem, offering support for up to 15W charging on the 10 Pro Fold and compatibility with a whole wide world of phone accessories thanks to the embedded magnets in the device. Google is calling its version Pixelsnap, and I can confirm that its first-party magnetic ring grip will remain stuck to a folding phone even while dangling the phone by the ring. Did it still make me a little queasy? Absolutely.

One place the 10 Pro Fold hasn’t offered improvements is in camera hardware. The Fold’s sensors and lenses are still a bit smaller than the more powerful, light-sensitive hardware on the two slab-style Pro phones. Google may have solved dust resistance on a folding phone, but it hasn’t found a way to cram in better cameras.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will come in two options that are shockingly not white or black: a gray-ish “moonstone” and a subtle greenish-yellow “jade.” It goes on sale on October 9th, with preorders starting today.
