CoD: Black Ops 7’s wallhack killstreak is receiving a frenzy of criticism, but isn’t the point of killstreaks that they’re unfair?

by admin October 1, 2025

What is Simp using?! 😱”You think this will be GA’d?” pic.twitter.com/VJUUwAZB8nSeptember 30, 2025

A clip from today’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 event has gone mildly viral, and is attracting the ire of onlookers who seem to feel that Call of Duty has, this time, gone too far with the wacky gadgets and guns.

The clip (embedded above) shows Call of Duty pro Simp using one of Blops 7’s new killstreak rewards, The Gravemaker, a sniper rifle whose wielder can see, and snipe, through solid walls. The go-to joke is that Activision has given up on combating cheaters and decided to just put wallhacking into the game.

I sort of get the indignation, because it doesn’t look fun to be on the receiving end of a bullet that was fired through two layers of concrete by someone you never could’ve seen, but I also sort of don’t get it, because aren’t all Call of Duty killstreaks like that?

How is this less fair than someone calling in an attack helicopter or carpet bombing part of the map? In some of these games you can call in a tactical nuke. A nuclear bomb!

Granted, the specific post I’ve shared is directed at the pro scene—”GA” refers to a “gentlemen’s agreement” not to use certain guns or abilities that have been deemed harmful to competitive play—and maybe this is something the pros will balk at.

To me, though, it just looks like yet another thing better players will kill me with. It appears that you get nine bullets, and so with perfect aim can score nine kills, which is a lot, but other streak rewards can do the same job. Also, Blops 7 will include the usual ‘Cold-Blooded’ perk so that you can hide from thermal optics.

I do agree that killstreaks and scorestreaks are annoying in general. I liked them way back in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare because they were novel, and there were only a few of them to deal with, but these days I’d welcome streak-free playlists where I don’t have to be bullied by exceptional players who spend a quarter of the match shooting me from a helicopter.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

The response here is probably more about vibes than anything: A wallhack sniper rifle is yet another prompt for the Call of Duty-fatigued to declare that they’re throwing in with the Battlefield crowd this year, and EA has smartly been playing up the idea that Battlefield 6 offers a more “grounded” take on modern warfare.

I don’t think Battlefield has ever been something I’d call grounded, but Call of Duty got so loaded up with live service cruft and goofy-ass crossover skins that it wasn’t a hard reputational battle for EA to win—it just had to not give Beavis and Butt-Head starring roles in BF6. Activision has started to change its tune on premium skins, but for the near future, I don’t know that it has much hope of escaping the narrative that CoD jumped the shark.

As Morgan just pointed out, it doesn’t help that Blops 7 hasn’t blown us away so far. I remain a sucker for CoD’s particular style of shooting, so I’ll check it out, but I doubt I’ll be good enough to ever earn this fancy sniper rifle. If I do, I guarantee that some kid will bound around a corner and noscope me before I even get a chance to look down that thermal sight, so you don’t have to worry about OP killstreaks from me, at least.

Kai Cenat addresses plans to build a school in Nigeria amid social media frenzy

by admin September 2, 2025

Kai Cenat halted Mafiathon 3 right out of the gate in order to address his plans of building a school in Nigeria. This update comes after weeks of fans pestering the social media celeb online.

Back in March 2024, Twitch superstar Kai Cenat visited Nigeria. While there, he was taken to a local school. After seeing the state of the building, with hundreds of students crammed into a single classroom, he pledged to help them however he could.

“Whatever they tell me you guys need, we’re gonna make sure you guys have [it],” he said at the time. Upon returning to America, he then doubled down and announced plans to build an entirely new school in Nigeria.

In the year and a half since, fans of the streamer have begun to question the charitable cause. With on-stream updates few and far between, and further donations piling up, it’s become a point of contention, with viewers hounding Cenat for information at every turn.

Now, he’s delivered. At the very beginning of Mafiathon 3, what’s intended to be a record-breaking Twitch stream, he paused the celeb-filled broadcast to address the situation and clarify progress being made.

Twitch: Kai CenatThe main reason construction hasn’t begun yet is due to complications with the land in Makoko.

Kai Cenat clarifies the status of new school in Nigeria

Two representatives working with Cenat on the project flew in from South Africa and Nigeria, Fanny Moral and Chinedum Umeche respectively, to help provide an update. These partners are from Banwo & Ighodalo, along with Enko Education.

Crucially, the group stressed how “it’s impossible” to build a new school from the ground up in under two years. At least, that’s if they want it done right. Ultimately, they want this school “to last for a long time,” as Cenat stressed. “Beyond me, beyond streaming.”

“From land purchase and approvals to construction, staffing, and curriculum,” there’s a great deal involved, as an accompanying slideshow conveyed.

The first factor listed there has been the main reason for delays, they explained, as due to the “topography, it’s difficult to build a school in that community.”

Specifically, Cenat visited Makoko, which has been described as the “Venice of Africa,” due to its position amid streams of open water. As such, the team has decided to move the project to Yaba, Lagos, which is located “next to Makoko.”

When established, students from Makoko will still receive free education, while students travelling from other areas will pay.

– Buy the Land
– Authorization from the Government

As part of the Mafiathon 3 stream, Cenat announced that 15% of revenue from the broadcast will again be helping build the school in Nigeria. If he achieves his plan of reaching 1 million Twitch subscribers, that will provide roughly $750,000 USD for the project, without factoring in higher-tier subs.

To continue providing full transparency moving forward, the group has established the Kai Cenat Foundation Inc. This is a public charity, which ensures all funds are accounted for and that no individual involved can personally profit. We’ve all seen how it’s worked out in the past for those who haven’t disclosed where charity money is going.

Today, the account has a balance of $1,134,453 USD. Cenat himself personally donated $128,579 USD in order to supply the current school with computers while the project gets underway.

All up, the charity is seeking $5 million in total investment to “get us to the first day of class,” Cenat explained. “That’s what we’re aiming for.”

YZY Token Frenzy, Ethereum’s Prosperous Rally, Gemini IPO Buzz, and More

by admin August 25, 2025

The last week in the cryptocurrency world has been nothing short of electrifying, with a whirlwind of developments shaping the market landscape. While the Jackson Hole meeting pumped the markets, the uncertainties around upcoming rate cuts left investors confused. Here is the compilation of top stories, news and updates of last week to catch-up with, ahead of the beginning of the last week of this August.

Top Headlines from the Past Week

Kanye West’s YZY Token

The YZY token, launched by Kanye West on August 20, ignited a whirlwind of excitement in the crypto world. Debuting with an explosive $3 billion market cap within just 40 minutes and reaching a high of $3.16, the token quickly plummeted by 74% to $0.66, showcasing the volatile nature of celebrity-backed tokens. This rapid rise and fall sparked intense debate, with analysts pointing to the token’s centralized structure—87% of its supply controlled by a single wallet—as a red flag for potential manipulation and liquidity issues.

Ethereum’s Continues to Outshine

Ethereum (ETH) has continued the rally to outshine its cryptocurrency peers, hitting a new all-time high of $4,953 on Sunday, according to CoinMarketCap data. This surge, marked a 12% increase over the past seven days, reflects growing institutional adoption for ETH with its solidifying dominance as the second-largest cryptocurrency.

Gemini IPO Buzz

Gemini, the U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange, is making headlines as it prepares for a highly anticipated IPO, positioning itself as the third crypto exchange to go public after Coinbase and Bullish. In a latest update, Ripple has stepped in to support Gemini’s IPO ambitions by providing a $75 million credit line to bolster its financial stability and liquidity ahead of the public offering. This strategic partnership, detailed in Gemini’s updated filing, aims to counterbalance the reported losses and enhance its competitive edge against rivals like Kraken and Anchorage Digital, which are also eyeing IPOs in 2025.

SBI Shaping Japan’s Crypto Economy

SBI Holdings is cementing its role as a trailblazer in Japan’s emerging crypto industry through a series of strategic moves. Last week, the financial conglomerate formed a joint venture with Circle and Ripple to advance the adoption of stablecoins (USDC and RLUSD). In a bold step forward, SBI Holdings is also set to launch an on-chain tokenized stock trading platform in partnership with Startale Group, announced on August 22. This platform promises round-the-clock trading of tokenized stocks and real-world assets, addressing gaps in traditional markets with features like faster cross-border settlements and fractional ownership.

Binance’s BNB Hits New High

The native cryptocurrency of Binance ecosystem, BNB soared to a new all-time high of $899.70 on August 23, as reported by CoinMarketCap. This surge underscores growing interest in Binance’s existing market dominance as a leading crypto exchange. Being a cornerstone of its ecosystem, BNB caught the attention of investors who believe that Binance will keep dominating the space in this bullish timeline.

News You Might Have Missed

Top Highlight

On August 18, a swing trader made headlines by selling 2,277 Ethereum (ETH) worth $9.57 million at $4,203 per ETH amid a market downturn, locking in a substantial $4.04 million profit despite experiencing significant on-chain slippage.

This move, debated as either a panic sell or a strategic exit, highlights the volatility and risk inherent in crypto trading, with slippage—where executed prices deviate from expected ones due to rapid market shifts—playing a key role.

What to Expect for This Week?

For the week of August 25–29, 2025, several microeconomic factors and major events are poised to influence the cryptocurrency landscape. The Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole Symposium (August 21–23) aftermath, with Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s speech, continues to drive sentiment, as markets await clarity on interest rate policies amid mixed U.S. economic data. However, leading cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and others have further entered an even more volatile phase so this week will mark a significant impact on the crypto markets.

Memecoin Frenzy: Hackers Hijack Adele, Future, Other Celebrities Instagram Account To Push Dubious FREEBANDZ Token

by admin August 23, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

In a rather shocking development, hackers took over the Instagram accounts of some music celebrities to promote a fraudulent Solana-based memecoin. This incident comes after another high-profile market controversy involving Kanye West’s YZY token.

Celebrity Profiles Hacked, Memecoin Crashes After $900,000 Pump

In an X post on Friday, popular media outlet NFR Podcasts reported that Instagram accounts belonging to the late Michael Jackson, as well as artists Adele, Tyla, and Future, had been simultaneously compromised to promote a scam memecoin. The fraudulent posts shared across the accounts featured an image of Future holding an oversized coin branded FREEBANDZ — the same name as the rapper’s music label and clothing brand. The imagery appeared designed to create a false sense of endorsement and legitimacy for the token.

Although the posts have since been removed, Future’s Instagram account was ultimately disabled. And as of now, none of the affected parties has issued public statements regarding the incident. According to data from Dexscreener, the token briefly surged upon launch, reaching a market cap of nearly $900,000 before collapsing to around $15,000 in about 30 minutes.

— NFR Lite (@NFR_Lite) August 22, 2025

On-chain data suggests the scam’s orchestrator may be linked to a wallet address ending in zcmPHn, which dumped 700 million FREEBANDZ tokens, securing 251.41 SOL valued at approximately $45,600. Another wallet, ending in bTp, also walked away with an additional $13,300 after swapping 85.6 million FREEBANDZ.

The rapid pump-and-dump underscores the risks surrounding memecoins and the ease with which hackers exploit high-profile names to lure in unsuspecting investors. In late 2024, for instance, rapper Drake’s X account was also compromised to promote a Solana memecoin called $ANITA, which generated around $5 million in trading volume before collapsing.

Meme coins remain largely unregulated, and the SEC has previously clarified that most do not qualify as securities, likening them instead to speculative collectibles with no underlying promise of profit. This regulatory gap has made memecoins fertile ground for these kinds of scams, highlighting the need for caution among traders.

Kanye West’s YZY Under Scrutiny For Insider Trading

In other developments, rap legend Kanye West has become embroiled in another memecoin controversy. According to Bitcoinist, the YZY token skyrocketed to a $3 billion market cap at launch before plunging more than 70% within hours.

On-chain data shows several wallets were pre-funded and primed to buy immediately after Ye’s announcement, fueling suspicions of insider trading. Notably, 13 wallets collectively walked away with $24 million in profits from the YZY frenzy. The token now trades at $0.705, with a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of $699.3 million.
