ARK Invest Forecast Highlights $25 Trillion Crypto Market Cap, Here’s How Much Ethereum And XRP Will Be

by admin September 26, 2025

Ark Invest, an American investment management firm, has recently shared a long-term forecast that envisions the Ethereum (ETH) price reaching the six-digit territory if the total crypto market capitalization surges to $25 trillion. Ark Invest also notes that Ethereum stands to be one of the biggest winners in this scenario, with XRP also set to capture significant value.

Ethereum’s Share Of The Projected $25 Trillion Market

Lorenzo Valente, Director of Research at Ark Invest, explained in a video post on X social media that Ethereum currently accounts for approximately 13.5% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization. He predicts that if the global crypto market cap climbs to $25 trillion within the next five years, Ethereum could command a market valuation of approximately $3.37 trillion. This translates into a price of about $28,000 per token—a level that would mark a historic moment for ETH.

The Ark Invest Director pointed to key drivers underpinning the cryptocurrency’s strength to reach such a valuation. These include the tokenization of Real-World Assets (RWA) on the Ethereum blockchain, the network’s rapid growth in DeFi, the growing presence of stablecoins, and ongoing innovations across Layer 2 solutions.

Valente further notes that more than $120 billion in total value is already locked within Ethereum and its scaling networks, highlighting its liquidity dominance. For stablecoins, the blockchain accounts for over $100 billion of the sector’s $200 billion capitalisation, a commanding position that underscores its role as the backbone of the DeFi landscape.

Notably, Valente emphasized ETH’s yield-bearing nature, with staking making the cryptocurrency one of the few revenue-generating digital assets. Beyond its ability to generate yield, the Ark Invest Director notes that Ethereum is also the number one collateral used on Layer 2s, a medium of exchange within NFT marketplaces, and the currency for paying network fees.

He also believes that scaling improvements on Layer 1 and Layer 2 over the next five years could attract millions more users, reinforcing ETH’s dominance and positioning it as a unique asset unlike any other in the crypto market.

XRP’s Growth Potential In A $25 Trillion Crypto Market

While Ethereum is positioned at the forefront of Ark Invest’s projection, XRP remains one of the most closely watched altcoins in the market. Currently valued at approximately $2.8 billion after a recent decline, the cryptocurrency has a total market capitalization of $170.6 billion. For reference, the entire crypto market also has a market cap of $3.93 trillion, as of the time of this report.

Based on these figures, XRP’s current market share is about 4.3% of the entire industry. If this ratio is maintained during the broader market’s projected rise to a $25 trillion valuation, XRP could achieve a market cap of roughly $1.05 trillion. With its current circulating supply, this would imply a price of approximately $17 per token, representing a more than sixfold increase from current levels.

Stablecoin Market Could Reach $4 Trillion by 2030, Citi Says in Revised Forecast

by admin September 25, 2025

The stablecoin market is expanding faster than expected, with issuance volumes rising from about $200 billion at the start of 2025 to $280 billion as of Thursday, according to a report by Citi.

The bank has lifted its 2030 forecast for stablecoin issuance to $1.9 trillion in its base case and $4 trillion in a bull case, up from $1.6 trillion and $3.7 trillion respectively.

If stablecoins circulate at a velocity comparable to fiat currencies, they could support up to $100 trillion in annual transactions by 2030 under the base scenario and double that in the bull case. Citi argued this growth reflects blockchain’s “ChatGPT moment” as digitally native companies lead adoption in real-world commerce.

Yet the report suggests stablecoins may not dominate all on-chain finance. Bank tokens — such as tokenized deposits — could ultimately see higher transaction volumes, driven by corporate demand for regulatory safeguards, real-time settlement and embedded compliance. A small migration of traditional banking rails on-chain, Citi estimated, could push bank token turnover beyond $100 trillion by the end of the decade.

The forecast also underscored the continued role of the U.S. dollar. Most on-chain money remains dollar-denominated, fueling demand for Treasuries, though hubs like Hong Kong and the UAE are emerging as centers of experimentation.

Citi framed the rise of stablecoins not as a battle to replace banks but as part of a broader reimagining of financial infrastructure. Different forms of digital money — stablecoins, bank tokens and CBDCs — are likely to coexist, each finding its niche.

BitMEX Co-founder Arthur Hayes Sells HYPE to Fund Ferrari Purchase, Stands by 126x Forecast

by admin September 22, 2025

Arthur Hayes, the BitMEX co-founder who now runs crypto venture fund Maelstrom, sold his personal stash of Hyperliquid’s HYPE tokens just weeks after predicting the asset could rally 126-fold.

Ferrari jokes and blockchain receipts

Blockchain analytics service Lookonchain reported on Sunday that Hayes unloaded 96,628 HYPE — worth about $5.1 million — booking a profit of roughly $823,000, or 19%, in a month.

Not long after, Hayes confirmed the move with his trademark irreverence, posting on X: “Need to pay my deposit on the new Rari 849 Testarossa.” The comment fueled backlash from traders who accused him of pumping HYPE in August before quickly exiting.

Hayes pushed back on Monday, insisting the sale was tied to concerns laid out by his firm. “This is why we dumped $HYPE today. But don’t worry 126x is still possible 2028 is a long way off,” he wrote.

Maelstrom warns of $11.9B supply unlocks

Earlier today, Maelstrom published a lengthy X post outlining what it called HYPE’s “first true test.”

Starting Nov. 29, 237.8 million HYPE will begin vesting linearly over two years — unlocking nearly $500 million of tokens per month. At current prices of around $50, that represents $11.9 billion of supply entering circulation.

The post estimated Hyperliquid’s buyback program could only absorb about 17% of that flow, leaving a potential $410 million monthly overhang. “Has the market priced in the sheer scale of these unlocks?” Maelstrom asked.

Maelstrom framed the looming supply shock as natural for a fast-growing protocol but warned that large vested allocations may tempt early developers and insiders to sell. The firm also noted that even large decentralized autonomous treasury (DAT) deals, such as Sonnet’s $583 million HYPE raise, won’t offset the scale of the unlocks.

Still betting on a decentralized Binance

The remarks contrasted sharply with Hayes’s Aug. 27 blog post, where he called Hyperliquid a “decentralized Binance” and argued HYPE could climb 126x by 2028. That thesis relied on bold assumptions: a $10 trillion stablecoin market, Hyperliquid capturing a Binance-level trading share, and fee structures holding steady.

Despite selling his tokens, Hayes reiterated that long-term view on Monday, describing the upcoming unlock as a hurdle, not a death blow. In his words, “2028 is a long way off.”

Hyperliquid has surged to become a dominant player in decentralized perpetual futures, and its HYPE token remains central to governance, staking and fee distribution. Whether the market can digest nearly $12 billion in new supply may determine if Hayes’s forecast proves prescient — or overly ambitious.

Newzoo: Global games market forecast to reach $188.8bn in 2025

by admin September 10, 2025

The global games market is estimated to reach $188.8 billion in 2025, a 3.4% increase year-on-year according to Newzoo’s latest report.

Console revenues are predicted to lead this growth, with the segment forecast to rise 5.5% to $45.9 billion. Newzoo cites the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 as the main driver, as well as “higher software prices and major releases”.

Mobile is set to maintain the largest share of overall revenues, and is projected to generate $103 billion.

However, the data firm notes that issues with discoverability may slow the segment, as “app stores and web shops are flooded with new games”.

Looking at PC, revenues are projected to increase 2.5% YoY to $39.9 billion, representing 21% of the total market share.

Newzoo notes that H1 releases including Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will help drive 2025 revenues.

Elsewhere, the global player base is forecast to reach 3.6 billion this year, rising 4.4% year-on-year. Mobile player growth is estimated to reach 3 billion players, up 4.5% compared to the previous period.

As for other platforms, console players will continue to grow 2.5% to 645 million players – despite being described as “the slowest-growing platform” – while PC audiences are set to increase 3.1% to 936 million players.

Meanwhile, Newzoo predicted that the total number of paying players will reach 1.6 billion, representing 44% of total players with an average spend of $119.7.

Google’s AI Weather Model Nailed Its First Major Storm Forecast

by admin August 26, 2025

While generative AI tools that primarily amount to slop generators grab most of the attention in the artificial intelligence space, there are occasionally some actually useful applications of the technology, like Google DeepMind’s use of AI weather models to predict cyclones. The experimental tool, launched earlier this year, successfully managed to provide accurate modeling of Hurricane Erin as it started gaining steam in the Atlantic Ocean earlier this month.

As Ars Technica first reported, Hurricane Erin—which reached Category 5 status and caused some damage to the island of Bermuda, parts of the Caribbean, and the East Coast of the United States—provided Google DeepMind’s Weather Lab with the first real test of its capabilities.

According to James Franklin, former chief of the hurricane specialist unit at the National Hurricane Center, it did quite well, outperforming the National Hurricane Center’s official model and topping several other physics-based models during the first 72 hours of modeling. It did ultimately fall off a bit the longer the prediction effort ran, but it still topped the consensus model through the five-day forecast.

While Google’s model was impressively accurate in the first days of modeling, it’s the latter ones that are most important to experts, per Ars Technica, as days three through five of the model are the ones that officials count on to make decisions on calls for evacuation and other preparatory efforts. Still, it seems like there may be some promise in the possibility of AI-powered weather modeling—though the sample size here is pretty small.

Most of the current gold standard modeling techniques used for storm prediction use physics-based prediction engines, which essentially try to recreate the conditions of the atmosphere by factoring in things like humidity, air pressure, and temperature changes to simulate how a storm might behave. Google’s model instead pulls from a massive amount of data that it was trained on, including a “reanalysis dataset that reconstructs past weather over the entire Earth from millions of observations, and a specialized database containing key information about the track, intensity, size and wind radii of nearly 5,000 observed cyclones from the past 45 years.”

According to Google, it tested its model on storms from 2023 and 2024, and found that its five-day prediction managed to predict the path of a storm with more accuracy than most other models, coming about 140km or 90 miles closer to the ultimate location of the cyclone than the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts’ ensemble model, which is considered the most accurate model available. Now it can point to a storm that it tracked in real-time as proof of concept, though there is no reason to think AI tools like this will completely displace the other approaches at this stage.
