Super Smash Bros Ultimate & more finally fixed for Nintendo Switch 2

by admin June 20, 2025

When the Nintendo Switch 2 dropped, millions of fans were quick to grab the console and install their favorite games, whether it was the new Mario Kart World, or one of the backwards compatible adventures… well, unless they didn’t work as promised.

It wasn’t exactly a secret when the console released, but roughly 2% of the first Switch’s games weren’t compatible with the second console. Since then, Nintendo has promised that almost 100% of their games will eventually work on the Switch 2, but that hasn’t stopped a plethora of titles from failing to run, save, or just work with the new Joy-Cons.

Thankfully, despite a few broken games, Nintendo has been hard at work to fix them and ensure they’re playable. Now, in a brand new update, six epic games have just been fixed.

Six games fixed for the Nintendo Switch 2

As part of the June 19 firmware update, the following games are now fully backwards compatible and can be played on the Nintendo Switch 2 without fault:

Previously, when playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online, when a Switch 2 and a Switch player were matched and someone was using the Mii Fighter, it was possible that the match would end immediately. This has now been fixed.

The rest of the titles will now also work without fault on both the Switch 2 and the original Switch, including the multiplayer systems, thanks to the recent firmware update.

Naturally, Nintendo is aware of all currently broken backwards compatible games and is working on providing a fix for them as soon as they can, so if your favorite game isn’t available or working properly yet, the chances are it’ll be fixed pretty soon.

With Super Earth on the line, Helldivers 2’s developed a glitch that’s stopping speedy-inputting players’ stratagems from working, but Arrowhead says it’ll be fixed “ASAP”

by admin May 28, 2025

Uh oh, with the battle for Super Earth in its critical final phase, Helldivers 2’s developed a pesky glitch that really looks to be hampering players’ efforts to hold off the Illuminate. Stratagems inputted rapidly aren’t deploying on cue, and Arrowhead says a fix is coming “ASAP”.

As I mentioned, the timing of this becoming an issue is really, really bad. The divers are right in the middle of trying to stop an apparently once in a century invasion of their home planet from wiping out every last mega city. Oof.

As showcased by multiple exasperated players over on the game’s subreddit, following the deployment of yesterday’s patch, rapidly inputting the button combos that trigger stratagems is resulting in them not being deployed.

It seems you can still get them to roll out if you press the arrows a bit more slowly, but given a lot of the stuff you’re calling in – from air support to the deployment of ammo and stim restocking stations – is the kind of thing you’ll want to be activated as soon as you request it mid-firefight, folks are understandably irate.

“It’s the first time a bug on this game actually made me want to stop playing,” one frustrated player wrote, “Not only that, but it’s something that affects a CORE MECHANIC of the game, why do they keep green lighting patches without at least testing if the core mechanics are working fine?”

The good news is that Arrowhead knows about the issue and is on the case. “We are aware of the stratagem input glitch and we are currently testing a fix and intend to put one out ASAP,” community manager Katherine ‘Baskinator’ Baskin has just announced in HD2’s Discord server, “We will let you know when it’s ready!

So, all you can do is try and hang in there until it arrives – and to be fair, other MOs affected by major tech issues didn’t consign the Helldivers to inevitable defeat as far as I remember, so all isn’t necessarily lost.

Blue Prince's Game Breaking PS5 Save Bug Finally Gets Fixed

Blue Prince’s Game Breaking PS5 Save Bug Finally Gets Fixed

by admin May 23, 2025

Blue Prince is the second highest-reviewed game of 2025 and now players on PlayStation 5 can finally plumb the depths of its deepest secrets without worrying about a gnarly game-breaking bug corrupting their save files. After weeks of tragically ensnaring some of the puzzle adventure’s biggest fans, a new patch fixes the issue alongside implementing a nerf for an infinite item exploit.

Civilization VII’s Latest Update Finally Feels Like The Game Fans Were Promised

“This issue was caused by a duplication of save data causing new save information to time out and not be saved,” the game’s developer, Tonda Ros, posted on Steam. “This problem has now been addressed and players should have no issues progressing and saving the game past the point where the bug was initially encountered.”

Blue Prince is about exploring a mansion where, at the start of each new day, you choose which room comes next from a growing deck of cards as you seek to discover a missing 46th room. Solving puzzles and uncovering clues in this roguelite structure eventually gives way to some big mysteries and lots of backstory, with some players spending over a hundred hours navigating the deepest layers of its esoteric labyrinth.

But on PS5, some of those players were hitting a save bug long before their time in the mansion felt complete. The Blue Prince subreddit is littered with horror stories of people who fell down the rabbit hole only to see all of their progress erased. Most players were hit somewhere between day 90 and 150.

“I play this wonder of a game on PS5, and after 117 days, I had the horror of discovering my save is locked on day 117, I keep playing for hours and saving but when I leave the game, I am back to that day 117,” one wrote. “I have finally reached the true ps5 endgame,” wrote another. “Save file bug.”

The good news is that those save files should now work, assuming players didn’t restart or delete them. “We have worked tirelessly with Sony to avoid any save files being lost once the game patches,” Ros wrote. “However, content that was not saved during the Rollback Issue has unfortunately been lost. Players should be able to return to Mount Holly at the point where they encountered the bug.”

It’s still a major bummer for everyone who was affected, especially since Blue Prince is not the best game for returning to weeks later after you’ve entered a completely different headspace. Today’s patch makes a fair number of other changes as well, most of which are redacted for spoiler reasons.

Two things players have also noticed, however, are fixes to the Guest Bedroom exploit which players could use to load up on items, and to the Nurse Station buff players were manipulating to gain extra steps. It turns out even Blue Prince isn’t immune to busted builds getting nerfed.
