MYX Finance price surges again as funding rate points to a crash

by admin September 18, 2025

MYX Finance price went parabolic again as the recent short-squeeze resumed. However, the formation of a double-top pattern and the funding rate point to an eventual crash in the coming days.

Summary

  • MYX Finance price surged again on Wednesday.
  • The funding rate plummeted, pointing to more downside in the near term.
  • It has formed a double-top pattern on the daily chart.

MYX Finance (MYX) came in the spotlight earlier this month as it jumped from $1 to nearly $20 within a days. This surge pushed the token’s fully diluted valuation to over $20 billion.

Some cryptocurrency analysts noted that the surge was likely part of a market manipulation, potentially by insiders. In a post, Bubblemaps said that over 100 active addresses that received 1% of the supply during the airdrop were owned by the same entities, an allegation that its developers denied.

> be MYX Finance
> launch your token
> run an airdrop campaign
> 100 sybil addresses receive 1% of the supply
> go from 0 to $20B FDV overnight
> that 1% is now worth $200M
> people start asking questions
> drop a long, vague GPT-reply
> somehow make things even more suspicious
>… https://t.co/YHlo0Sl8xZ pic.twitter.com/5wujlNHXnm

— Bubblemaps (@bubblemaps) September 9, 2025

Another possible reason for the rally is that the MYX Finance platform is doing relatively well. Data compiled by DeFi Llama shows that the network has handled perpetual futures worth $5 billion this month so far. It handled volume worth $10.3 billion in July, making it one of the biggest players in the perpetual futures industry.

Still, whether the short squeeze is genuine or part of market manipulation, there are reasons why the token will crash soon.

One of them is that the funding rate in the futures market has plummeted to the lowest level since August. A falling funding rate is a sign that investors expect the future price to be lower than where it is today.

Also, the ongoing surge is happening in a low-volume environment, which is risky. CoinGlass data shows that the 24-hour volume was $626 million, much lower than $11 billion on Sep. 9. It was the lowest volume since the initial surge earlier this month.

The ongoing MYX surge also resembles that of OnyxCoin (XCN), which surged by over 2,300% within a few days in January. Since then, the token has plunged by over 76% to the current $0.011.

The other reason why the MYX price may crash soon is that it has slowly formed the highly bearish double-top chart pattern at $19.13. Its neckline is at $9.92, its lowest level this week. This pattern often leads to more downside over time.

Additionally, the token has become highly overbought, with the Relative Strength Index soaring to 75. In most cases, a highly overbought asset tends to retreat as investors book profits.

Maple Finance Hits $4B AUM, Overtakes BlackRock’s BUIDL1

by admin September 17, 2025

Onchain asset manager Maple Finance has surpassed BlackRock’s BUIDL fund to become the largest in the sector, with its Assets Under Management (AUM) approaching $4 billion. The growth is largely driven by strong institutional demand for its yield-bearing stablecoin, syrupUSD, and recent expansions to new blockchain networks.

The surge in assets highlights a significant trend in decentralized finance (DeFi), according to Maple Finance CEO and co-founder Sid Powell. “The majority of Maple’s growth is being driven by institutional credit demand,” Powell stated, noting a pivot in the market. “It’s a shift away from opportunistic strategies toward a more stable, credit-driven yield base.”

The protocol’s investor deposits, which now stand at $3.8 billion, generate yield by providing capital to crypto-native businesses such as prime brokers, trading firms, and Bitcoin miners.

Expansion and Incentives Fuel Growth

Maple upgraded its services to the new blockchain, accelerating the company’s  growth. At the beginning of September, the protocol deployed on Arbitrum to participate in its $40 million DRIP reward scheme. More recently, on September 15, Maple launched syrupUSD on the new layer-2 network, Plasma. The launch included a $200 million pre-deposit vault, which was filled within 24 hours and offers exclusive rewards to early liquidity providers.

The total amount of money deposited into all DeFi lending systems has reached a new all-time high of almost $135 billion. Powell talked a lot about how Maple’s model is sustainable, saying that its yield is based on “real credit demand, not by circular activity or opaque leverage.” He also said, “We’re moving from experimental protocols toward durable financial rails that can support billions of dollars in capital.”

Maple Finance’s milestone signals a maturing onchain credit market and growing institutional confidence in DeFi-native yield products. By providing stable, credit-driven returns sourced from real-world business operations, Maple is demonstrating a sustainable alternative to the volatile and often speculative yields that characterized earlier DeFi cycles.

The company wants to have $5 billion in AUM by the end of the year. If it succeeds, it could encourage bigger names in finance to get involved with decentralized asset management.

On-Chain Capital Markets and Agentic Finance Are Coming

by admin September 13, 2025

U.S. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said crypto’s time has come, pledging to modernize the U.S. securities rulebook and expand “Project Crypto” to bring markets on-chain.

Speaking in Paris on Sept. 10 at the OECD’s inaugural Roundtable on Global Financial Markets, Atkins said the SEC is shifting away from enforcement-driven policymaking and will provide clear rules for tokens, custody, and trading platforms. “Policy will no longer be set by ad hoc enforcement actions,” he said, calling the new approach “a golden age of financial innovation on U.S. soil.”

Atkins said most tokens are not securities and promised bright-line rules for determining when crypto assets fall under SEC oversight. He said entrepreneurs must be able to raise capital on-chain without “endless legal uncertainty” and pledged a framework for platforms that integrate trading, lending, and staking under one license. Custody rules will also be updated to allow investors and intermediaries multiple options.

The SEC chair said Project Crypto would clear the way for tokenized securities, new on-chain asset classes, and decentralized finance software, while ensuring investor protections. He also highlighted the potential for “super-app” trading platforms and stressed the importance of keeping innovation in the United States.

Atkins first unveiled Project Crypto on July 31, 2025, in Washington, framing it as the SEC’s “north star” in supporting President Trump’s goal of making the U.S. the world’s crypto hub. His Paris remarks expanded on that agenda, outlining more details on custody, capital formation, and platform rules.

Atkins’ remarks came two days after Nasdaq President Tal Cohen posted on LinkedIn that tokenization is an “extraordinary opportunity” for global markets. Cohen said Nasdaq had filed with the SEC to enable trading of tokenized securities, underscoring how major institutions are moving toward blockchain adoption.

Beyond crypto, Atkins addressed foreign company listings, accounting standards, and European regulation. He raised concerns over “double materiality” in EU reporting laws, urged stable funding for the IASB, and said the SEC may revisit its 2007 decision to allow IFRS without reconciliation to U.S. GAAP if funding issues persist.

The SEC chair also highlighted artificial intelligence as a force that could fundamentally reshape financial markets. He described a shift toward “agentic finance,” where autonomous AI systems could execute trades, allocate capital, and manage risk at speeds no human can match, with compliance embedded directly into their code.

Such systems, he said, could deliver faster and cheaper markets while opening advanced strategies to a broader set of investors. Coupled with blockchain infrastructure, these tools could empower individuals, increase competition, and unlock new growth.

Atkins cautioned, however, that regulators must provide “commonsense guardrails” without overreacting out of fear. He argued that on-chain capital markets and AI-driven finance are on the horizon, and that America must choose leadership to ensure the next generation of financial innovation takes root at home.

Atkins concluded by saying regulators must strike a balance between innovation and investor protection. “Crypto’s time has come,” he said, adding that U.S. markets should lead the next wave of financial innovation rather than watching it unfold overseas.

Here’s why crypto coins like MYX Finance, Story IP, and Worldcoin are rising

by admin September 9, 2025

The crypto market came under pressure on Sept. 9, with Bitcoin and major coins such as Solana, Ethereum, and XRP falling while a handful of altcoins moved higher.

Summary

  • MYX Finance price continued rising after the Gate.io listing.
  • Story price jumped after Heritage Distilling launched an IP treasury.
  • Worldcoin price jumped as Eigtco started WLD accumulation.

The market capitalization of all coins dropped by 1% to $3.94 trillion, continuing a recent trend. Still, some crypto coins like MYX Finance (MYX), Story (IP), and Worldcoin (WLD) were up by 100%, 31%, and 15%, respectively.

MYX Finance price jumps after Gate listing

MYX Finance price has gone parabolic in the past few days, which some traders attribute to market manipulation. It moved from $0.177 in August to a record high of $18, with its market capitalization jumping to over $3.5 billion. Its 24-hour volume rose to nearly $1 billion.

MYX price continued its uptrend after Gate.io, one of the top crypto exchanges, listed it. It is common for cryptocurrencies to jump after being listed by a major exchange.

There is a risk, however, that the MYX Finance price will reverse soon, as it has become highly overbought, with the Relative Strength Index soaring to 97 and forming a double-top pattern. It is also much higher than its moving averages, meaning a mean reversion is possible.

Story price jumps after Heritage Distilling starts an IP fund

Story price surged to a high of $12, continuing an uptrend that started in June when it bottomed at $2.46. It has crossed the important resistance point at $8, its February high.

The surge coincided with Heritage Distilling launching an IP fund that will invest in the token. This follows its recent PIPE financing that raised $200 million from companies like a16z, Selini Capital, Stix, and Hashed. In a statement, Seung Yoon, the CEO of PIP Labs, said:

“By anchoring our reserves in $IP, we are positioning shareholders to participate in one of the most important shifts of this decade: the intersection of AI, data, and intellectual property.”

Worldcoin price surges after Eightco launches fund

Worldcoin, the crypto project launched by Sam Altman, jumped, reaching its highest point since January. The surge happened after Eightco, a company backed by Bitmine Immersion, launched a $250 million WLD treasury bet.

Eightco, Heritage Distilling, and other treasury companies are hoping to replicate the strategy’s success. Their hope is that these tokens will jump and boost their stocks in the long term.

The risk, however, is that the model is showing some strain, with most Bitcoin treasury companies like MSTR, Metaplanet, and Trump Media remaining in a deep bear market.

MYX Finance price surges 135% amid manipulation claims

by admin September 8, 2025

MYX Finance price surged to a new all-time high, but traders are raising alarms about possible insider activity behind the rally.

Summary

  • MYX’s sharp rally is fueled by surging derivatives activity, with billions flowing into perpetuals and open interest doubling.
  • The timing of a 39 million token unlock has fueled suspicions of insider selling into retail demand.
  • Community voices warn this may be a coordinated pump-and-dump, echoing patterns seen in Mantra’s collapse earlier this year.

The token traded at $3.68 on Sept. 8, up 135% in the past 24 hours and 214% over the past week. The sharp rise pushed MYX Finance (MYX) to a seven-day range of $0.984 to $3.78, with trading volumes soaring alongside.

In the past 24 hours alone, MYX registered $314.9 million in spot volume, an 829% increase from the day before. Activity in the derivatives market also increased. Perpetual futures volume rose 2,345% to $4.23 billion, according to Coinglass data, while open interest surged 138% to $262.1 million.

These numbers point to both increased market leverage and increased speculative trading. Rising open interest typically signals new positions rather than simple position closing, pointing to traders aggressively chasing the rally. But this also makes the token susceptible to volatility shocks and forced liquidations.

Allegations of insider manipulation

Concerns about the sustainability of the rally surfaced after Web3 commentator Dominic flagged what he described as “questionable activities” to his 44,000 followers on X on Sept. 7. His breakdown accused whales and insiders of orchestrating a pump-and-dump through wash trading, forced short squeezes, and coordinated buying across exchanges.

Some people need jail time for real, today there where some questionable activities going on with $MYX Here’s a more detailed breakdown showing why $MYX looks manipulated and why traders should avoid it:

Several red flags I noticed myself that point to manipulation and insider…

— Dominic(evm/acc)💭 (@0xD0M_) September 7, 2025

Dominic claims that the daily perpetuals volume suddenly jumped to $6–9 billion, which is out of proportion for a token of MYX’s size. Identical trading patterns across Bitget, PancakeSwap, and Binance indicated coordinated whale activity, and over $10 million in shorts were liquidated in a single day.

MYX Finance price rallies despite token unlock

The timing coincided with a major token unlock. Nearly 39 million MYX tokens entered circulation just as the price spiked, allowing early insiders to offload holdings into retail demand. The combination of unlocks and surging derivatives interest is fueling suspicion that the rally has less sustainable momentum and more engineered liquidity.

“These tactics create artificial demand that vanishes once insiders exit,” Dominic wrote, adding that retail traders are being used as exit liquidity.

The concerns mirror April’s Mantra (OM) crash, when OM plunged 90% in an hour after suspected insider token movements. That event wiped out $5.5 billion in market cap and sparked allegations of cross-exchange manipulation, later forcing the project to announce a token burn to restore confidence.

Eric Trump: Bitcoin Enables Finance With ‘No Disparity’ Between Classes

by admin August 29, 2025

In brief

  • Eric Trump told the Bitcoin Asia conference that Bitcoin marks the first time finance has “no disparity” between socioeconomic classes.
  • Trump also spoke of sovereign wealth funds, Fortune 500 companies, and nation states driving adoption.
  • His remarks highlight a tension between Bitcoin’s populist narrative and elite accumulation, observers told Decrypt.

Speaking at the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong on Friday, Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, argued that Bitcoin marks the first time in the history of finance where “there is no disparity between socioeconomic classes.”

In a fireside chat, Trump shared remarks on how his father has championed the crypto industry, recounted how he entered the space, and highlighted his family’s deepening ventures into crypto and digital assets.

“The traditional financial system in the world has benefited guys like me, and it hasn’t benefited the vast majority of people,” Trump said onstage, adding that it “benefits the people that were fortunate enough to have some zeros behind their name.”

Those people, he said, were the ones who can “call the heads of the bank and negotiate off a full point on a loan, or get all the fees knocked out.”

Trump went on to argue that Bitcoin operates without those advantages.

“For the first time, you have a community that is agnostic to true wealth,” he said, arguing that it “gives the person in sub-Saharan Africa the same opportunity as the executive on Wall Street in New York City.”

Aspiration and privilege

Eric Trump’s portrayal of Bitcoin as “the greatest asset that’s arguably ever been created” as a level playing field that’s continuously being made “more accessible to the masses” stood in contrast to other parts of his talk.

Earlier, he had discussed how sovereign wealth funds, Fortune 500 companies, and nation states are buying Bitcoin heavily, sharing anecdotes on having breakfast with “a couple of the most powerful people in the region.”

Decrypt has reached out to Eric Trump and the Trump Organization for comment, and will update this article should they respond.

The tension between Bitcoin’s image as an egalitarian ideal and its current reality as an asset concentrated among elites remains central to the debate over how far the technology has lived up to its promise.

“Eric Trump’s words speak to the original aspiration of crypto. To be the great leveller, a financial system run by no one, open to everyone,” Conrad Young, co-founder of digital asset strategy firm Paragon, told Decrypt. “In practice, that vision remains only partly fulfilled.”

Trump is right that “some of the decentralised elements of crypto leave fewer levers for wealthy individuals to pull compared to traditional finance,” Young said. “But it’s also true that the industry today is dominated by institutions and large holders.”

“The gains retail investors have seen in this cycle were driven less by people-power and more by institutional recognition of Bitcoin and Ethereum,” he added.

Exposing socioeconomic divides

Nevertheless, crypto “opens doors in ways traditional markets do not,” Young said.

For people in developing economies, crypto “provides access to an asset class being shaped by Western institutions but available globally,” he noted. “The real levelling force for these communities comes through blockchain’s ability to move capital across borders.”

The crypto industry, through blockchain technology and digital assets such as Bitcoin, has “cast a harsh light on the deep socioeconomic divides of our world,” Ali Sammour, founder of decentralized commerce platform Droplinked, told Decrypt.

“We’re currently at a crossroads in society where the technology and asset could provide better financial liberty and freedom, but access is primarily still limited to the privileged,” Sammour said. “For billions, especially in emerging markets, even basic internet access is a luxury. The path to true financial inclusion is long, and we have a lot of work to do.”

Crypto Assets Can be Part of Diversified Portfolio, Japan’s Finance Minister Kato Says

by admin August 25, 2025

Japan’s Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato said on Monday that cryptocurrencies can be part of a diversified portfolio.

“Crypto assets have risks surrounding high volatility, but through building an appropriate investment environment, they could be part of diversified investments,” Kato said while speaking at an event in Tokyo, according to Bloomberg.

The minister added that the government has been trying to ensure that innovation isn’t stifled by excessive regulation.

Kato’s comments are particularly notable in the context of Japan’s debt-to-GDP ratio exceeding 200%, which raises concerns about imminent financial repression and potential depreciation of the yen.

Financial repression involves policies aimed at reducing government debt burdens through measures such as inflation, low or negative real interest rates, currency depreciation and capital controls.

These policies tend to erode returns on traditional fixed-income and cash holdings, thereby boosting the appeal of alternative investments, such as cryptocurrencies, which offer real returns and diversification.

Crypto Interest Trails AI and Humanoids Among Future Finance Leaders, Morgan Stanley Intern Survey Shows

by admin August 24, 2025

The phrase “we are still early” remains a popular sentiment in the crypto community in 2025, suggesting that despite bitcoin’s (BTC) price surpassing $100,000, the overall adoption of digital assets is still in its infancy.

Morgan Stalney’s recent survey of financial professionals confirms this sentiment. The investment banking giant surveyed more than 500 summer interns in North America from June 10 to 27, and 147 summer interns in Europe from June 26 to July 7.

The survey revealed that only 18% of interns own or use cryptocurrencies, increasing from 13% the previous year. Meanwhile, the percentage of interns interested in digital assets has risen to 26% from 23%. Meanwhile, 55% still do not care for digital assets, a majority, although the number has receded from 63% last year.

The widespread lack of interest appears significant, especially considering that BTC has already gained acceptance on Wall Street through the introduction of ETFs.

The 11 spot BTC ETFs have amassed $53.7 billion in investor wealth since their debut in January last year, according to data source Farside Investors. Ether ETFs have registered an inflow of $12.4 billion. Corporations are rapidly adding both assets to their balance sheets.

BTC’s price has surpassed $100,000 this year, gaining a foothold in institutional investor portfolios. Ether hit a record high of over $4,800 on Friday.

Morgan Stanley’s AI intern explainer video. (Morgan Stanley)

More open to AI

The survey revealed a clear adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by future finance industry leaders, with 96% of U.S. interns and 91% of their European counterparts reporting the use of technology at least occasionally.

The consensus is that AI is effective, with nearly all respondents agreeing they “save me time” and are “easy to use”. However, 88% of interns also had a nuanced view, believing the technology still “needs accuracy improvement.”

The widespread adoption is consistent with the sentiment on Wall Street, where the Mag 7 firms are expected to spend $650 billion in capital expenditures and research and development this year.

Trillion dollar humanoids market

The survey revealed that most interns are interested in owning humanoids, or sophisticated machines designed with a human-like form and capabilities, but are cautious about their impact on society.

Over 60% of U.S. interns and 69% of European interns expressed interest in having a humanoid at home, with both regions believing the robots will have “viable use cases” and replace many human jobs.

Still, only 36% of U.S. interns and 24% of Europeans agreed that humanoids will have a positive impact on society.

Morgan Stanley estimates that the humanoid market could surpass $5 trillion by 2050, including sales from supply chains and networks for repair, maintenance and support.

“Although humanoids are still under development, there could be more than 1 billion by 2050, with 90% used for industrial and commercial purposes,” the investment banking giant said in a report in May.

U.S. Federal Reserve’s New Supervision Chief Sold on Bringing Crypto to Finance

by admin August 19, 2025

The U.S. Federal Reserve’s newest vice chair who supervises Wall Street banking, Michelle Bowman, made a crypto speech on Tuesday that could have been uttered by one of the industry’s own policy wonks, advocating that banks get behind the digital assets surge and that the Fed give the sector rules that won’t get in crypto’s way.

At the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, Bowman warned banks that don’t embrace the shift toward crypto “will play a diminished role in the financial system more broadly,” and she further underlined what’s already been an obvious change in crypto sentiment from U.S. banking regulators.

“Your industry has already experienced significant frictions with bank regulators applying unclear standards, conflicting guidance, and inconsistent regulatory interpretations,” she said. “We need a clear, strategic regulatory framework that will facilitate the adoption of new technology, recognizing that in some cases, it may be inadequate and inappropriate to apply existing regulatory guidance to address emerging tech.”

In March, President Donald Trump nominated Bowman to be elevated from a board seat to the role of vice chair for supervision, and she was sworn in about two months ago. She’ll occupy a leading role in the Fed’s writing and adoption of rules for stablecoins, as outlined by the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, and her latest remarks show how much she’s aligned with the president on fostering the technology.

“Regulators must recognize the unique features of these new assets and distinguish them from traditional financial instruments or banking products,” Bowman said, advocating that the pending rules be closely tailored to what the industry is doing and not a “worst-case scenario.”

Bowman addressed asset tokenization, saying it can make transfers of ownership faster, mitigate “well-known risks” and make the process cheaper, and she said stablecoins are “positioned to become a fixture in the financial system.”

“It is essential that banks and regulators are open to engaging in new technologies and departing from an overly cautious mindset,” she said.

The vice chair also said the agency “should consider allowing Federal Reserve staff to hold de minimus amounts of crypto or other types of digital assets so they can achieve a working understanding of the underlying functionality.”

“I certainly wouldn’t trust someone to teach me to ski if they’d never put on skis, regardless of how many books and articles they have read, or even wrote, about it,” Bowman remarked.
