New Fortnite Festival Season Delayed Just A Little Bit

by admin June 16, 2025

Epic Games surprised Fortnite fans on Friday when it announced that the next update, which was slated to introduce Season 9 of Fortnite Festival next Tuesday, has been delayed. Fortunately, the delay is about as short as it can get, as the patch has been pushed back just one day to Wednesday, June 18. Epic gave no reason for the delay.

The move is a surprising one, as it’s rare for a patch to be delayed in advance by just a day. Normally, Epic doesn’t openly discuss patch timing–it just deploys it when it’s ready with half a day’s notice. This patch gets a public acknowledgement of its delay because it comes with the new Festival season launch, which has been scheduled for June 17 for months. The delay means that the current Sabrina Carpenter pass will be extended by one day.

Usually when a patch gets bumped from Tuesday to Wednesday it’s because that week’s Monday was a holiday–Epic doesn’t deploy big updates when its employees aren’t in the office. While June 16 is not a US holiday, there is one later in the week: Juneteenth, on Thursday. It could be that Epic is observing the holiday early instead of during the middle of the week.

While Season 9 of Fortnite Festival was long rumored to have Daft Punk as its headlining act, it’s now looking as though the featured artist will actually be Deadmau5. When the new superhero season began in Battle Royale on June 7, the updated map included Deadmau5 posters, similar to the way Epic teased Hatsune Miku and Sabrina Carpenter ahead of their season launches. While it’s not yet confirmed that Deadmau5 is headlining, he’s by far the most plausible candidate right now.

All free Fortnite Festival songs today (May 2025)

by admin May 30, 2025

Updated May 30, 2025: Enjoy the latest hits!

Fortnite Festival brings a fresh mix of free songs daily. Typically, they are the four tracks highlighted as Featured Songs and marked with a clock icon in the Backstage. That means you can play them on the Main Stage, on any instrument, even if you don’t own their Jam Tracks.

When new songs drop in Fortnite Festival, they enter the free-to-play list on release day. New and Featured tracks change at 6pm CT—right when the Fortnite Shop resets. If you want to keep a song for good, each one in rotation is available in the store. Here’s the full list of Fortnite Festival songs available to play for free today, May 30.

How to keep Featured and New tracks forever in Fortnite

To permanently add Fortnite Festival tracks to your collection, the only way is to purchase them for 500 V-Bucks in the Shop. This is your surefire method to access a song at any time, regardless of the current rotation. If you don’t buy them, the only other way to play a free song again is to wait until it appears as a Featured track in an upcoming rotation.

Given the Fortnite Festival song list isn’t overly extensive, there’s a good chance you’ll see songs reappear in the free rotation multiple times a week. You have to keep an eye on the list to not miss them!

No songs in Fortnite Festival? Causes and fixes

If you see no songs available on your list in the backstage of the Fortnite Festival, it’s probably a bug. You always have at least the daily free songs to play, even if you don’t own any Jam Tracks.

To fix the issue of seeing no songs in Fortnite Festival, close and open Fortnite again. This should solve your issues most of the time, as this error is usually a hiccup in your platform’s connection with Epic Games’ servers. Restarting the game will likely bring up the free songs list again. If it still doesn’t work, reset your PC or console and try again.

If the issue persists, Epic servers are likely facing a widespread issue, and you should check the Epic Status Page for further information.

New York unveils details for its first annual NYC Video Game Festival

by admin May 29, 2025

Cities around the world have been showing their enthusiasm for gaming as an educational tool, and New York City is helping to lead that charge with its first annual NYC Video Game Festival on Saturday, May 31. The day-long event will feature esports competitions, arcades, and indie game demos, all taking place at Convene Brookfield Place in lower Manhattan.

The NYC Video Game Festival will also host the finals of the fifth-annual Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs Esports competition. The competition has fostered creativity among the school kids of New York City as they’re tasked with solving some of the city’s challenges using the tools within Minecraft. For example, last year, kids were tasked with designing a new Brooklyn Army Terminal Climate Innovation Hub.

Each borough of New York City will be sending three finalist teams (representing elementary, middle, and high school) for a total of 15 teams competing.

In addition to the Minecraft competition, New York-based colleges will be sending their best and brightest Fortnite and Valorant players to compete in the 2025 Collegiate Championship. One of the teams competing is The Quad Gods, the world’s first all-quadriplegic esports team, which was recently featured in an HBO Documentary.

The May 31 event is just the beginning, as New York City is planning on hosting a variety of gaming events over the next several months as part of its NYC Summer of Games initiative. A full rundown of all of this summer’s events can be found here.

Polygon is thrilled to partner with New York City as part of this event, which has allowed kids to really prove that games have the ability to solve real-life challenges. We hope to see you there!
