ELO Launches Sentinel XR Gaming Glasses Featuring 180″ Virtual Display Technology

by admin June 25, 2025

If you’re a tech junkie like me, then you know that XR glasses are finally reaching a maturity where you should sit up and take notice. A company called ELO (not related to Electric Light Orchestra) has showcased a new lightweight wearable they’re calling Sentinel XR Gaming Glasses that have some very impressive next-generation features that look like it’ll bump the big boys right off the podium. Let’s take a look:

The Sentinel XR Glasses: Portable 180″ Display

The Sentinel XR Glasses feature a 180-inch virtual Full HD display that delivers 1080p resolution to each eye at 120Hz refresh rate. The display size adjusts from 27 inches when positioned at 80 cm to 180 inches at 3 meters, offering larger viewing areas than competing products.

Electrochromic lenses toggle between full transparency and 99.7% blackout for adaptable viewing conditions

Wide 52° FOV powered by Sony’s latest 0.68” OLED modules, the largest available in XR glasses

Lightweight construction at under 80g with universal fit and adjustable diopter settings (0 to -5.0D)

Variable brightness with 10 adjustment levels

Universal connectivity via USB-C to Steam Deck, iPhone 15/16, Android devices, and Mac/PC

The feature set in this is already impressive, but it’s what came next that made me sit up and take notice:

The OmniBase portable computing hub transforms the Sentinels into a fully independent system. Running Android OS, the device includes 128GB of internal storage with micro-SD card expansion capability for additional content storage.

Wait…local storage? You have my interest…

Core features:

Wireless connectivity

with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming and device pairing

Multi-platform support for cloud gaming platforms, streaming services, and retro gaming emulators

Independent operation that eliminates requirements for phone or computer connections

Integrated navigation controls for anchoring and adjusting virtual screen size and positioning

Portable charging capability with battery capacity to charge mobile devices up to 3 times

Ok – completely wireless, local storage, and standalone power? Now were talking. And now a controller on top of it? Suddenly you have an entirely standalone ecosystem:

The Vagabond V2 mobile controller provides console-grade gaming performance for portable devices. The controller features Hall Effect joysticks that eliminate drift issues and deliver precise analog control for extended gaming sessions.

Hall Effect joysticks for drift-free precision control and enhanced durability

Silent mechanical buttons for responsive input without noise

Passthrough charging to maintain device power during extended gameplay

Customizable back buttons for personalized control mapping

USB-C connectivity for low-latency connection across compatible devices

Layout options available in Xbox and PlayStation configurations

There’s also an optional dongle to add Bluetooth connectivity and external battery power to extend things even further.

Ambitious hardly covers this one. Throw in that the team intends to support the App Store, Google Play, Netflix Games, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PlayStation Remote Play, as well as pretty much anything you can connect via USB-C that supports video out and these look like an absolute game changer. You enjoy that pun.

So the question now is “How much, and when?” I’ve got you covered:

Availability and Pricing

The Sentinel XR Ecosystem is launching on Kickstarter with exclusive pricing:

  • Sentinel XR Glasses :$429
  • Vagabond V2 Controller: $89
  • OmniBase Hub: $199

As for the “when” part, it’s sooner than you think – you’ll have these in your hands for Christmas with a November 2025 ship date.

There is a LOT of ambitious statements in Kickstarter, but it’s also pretty clear from the demonstrations that they are fairly far along in the development cycle that it’s not just a target the team is aiming for, but one they’re merely refining for launch.

There are a number of tiers for Kickstarter, with some solid discounts if you jump in soon. Tech nerds, take notice – this could be the portable screens for gamers on the go we’ve been waiting for.

A Donkey Kong Bananza Amiibo Featuring DK And Pauline Will Be Released Next Month

by admin June 18, 2025

During today’s short but jam-packed 15-minute Donkey Kong Bananza Direct, Nintendo revealed a new Amiibo for the game. It features Donkey Kong and his companion, Pauline, and launches alongside the game next month on July 17.

Scanning this special Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo into Donkey Kong Bananza unlocks Pauline’s Diva Dress. Alongside this reveal, Nintendo also announced that every other Amiibo released thus far, including previous Donkey Kong Amiibo and the special arm bands used inside Universal’s Super Nintendo World theme parks, can be used to receive special giant spheres that do unique things in-game.

For example, one Amiibo might bring a giant ice sphere into your game, allowing you to clog up a lava canal to reach somewhere new. Nintendo only revealed small snippets of how Amiibo work in-game, so we’ll likely learn more about their functionality next month.

Donkey Kong Bananza launches exclusively on Switch 2 on July 17.

While waiting for its release, read Game Informer’s hands-on Donkey Kong Bananza preview, and then watch the game’s reveal trailer. After that, read Game Informer’s round-up of everything we learned about Donkey Kong Bananza during today’s direct, and then read about how Donkey Kong Bananza features co-op and GameShare features for Switch 2 and Switch 1 consoles.

Are you picking up Donkey Kong Bananza next month? Let us know in the comments below!

Praise the Omnissiah, Warhammer 40,000; Mechanicus 2 just got a new gameplay trailer, featuring a short glimpse at a new faction

by admin May 24, 2025

A gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 has just been revealed during today’s Warhammer Skulls event, and it features a special surprise for fans of the newer era of the 40k narrative. The Leagues of Votann, the newest faction added to the tabletop game, are making their video game debut.

This new trailer, which you can watch below, looks like a fancier and shiner update of the first game (which makes sense). Characters present in the first game are making a return including all of your advisors, and you’ll be battling against the Necron once again on Hekateus IV.

Check out the Mechanicus 2 gameplay trailer here!

As for the Leagues of Votann, we see them represented with various units, including Hearthkyn (AI comrades), Beserks, and standard warriors. It’s not clear yet what role they’ll play in the narrative, it seems as though whether or not they’re friend of foe is going to be a major mystery going into the game, but it’s cool to see them get some love in Warhammer’s continued push into the video game space.

Mechanicus 2 is in development right now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it set to release at some point later this year. No exact release date has been revealed quite yet, so you’ll have to hang in there until more info drops. If you’re looking to kill some time and haven’t played the first game, it’s currently on sale on Steam for 80%. It’ll also be free for a while, so at least try it out!

Are you excited to see the League of Votann in action? Let us know below!

Maestro to receive epic new DLC featuring Star Wars and is heading to PSVR2

by admin May 19, 2025

VR orchestral game Maestro is set to receive a new Star Wars themed DLC pack which adds “Star Wars: Episode 1 – ‘Duel of the Fates’ by John Williams” to the track list along with a new in-game lightsaber cosmetic, which is available to use as a baton. Additionally, it has been revealed that Maestro will launch on the PSVR2 on June 20th, alongside a Complete Collection Bundle which contains all previously released content packs.

As Yoda would say, “Control, control, you must learn control!” (or should it be Culture?) and that’s precisely what players need in the new DLC that was announced today for the VR orchestral game Maestro (Meta’s Game of the Year) on Meta, SteamVR & PICO.

The Star Wars content pack includes a brand new track from the iconic Star Wars: Episode 1 – ‘Duel of the Fates’ by John Williams, as well as a brand new in game cosmetic, a mini lightsaber ready to use as a baton, to transport you at lightspeed into the Star Wars universe, launching on June 20th for Quest, SteamVR, PICO AND PSVR2.

That’s right, today it was also confirmed that Maestro is heading to PSVR2 on June 20th and will launch with all content packs available as part of a Complete Collection Bundle, which will also be available on all platforms on the same day (June 20th) to celebrate.

To celebrate this major release, Maestro will also deliver a free update for all players on the same day:

A new “Fields of Fate” stage, a rain-soaked, apocalyptic arena where Heaven and Hell collide.

A new “Angels and Demons” orchestra split into two armies—angels and demons—reflecting the eternal struggle of Good versus Evil.

And the addition of Sergei Prokofiev’s powerful “Battle on the Ice” (from Alexander Nevsky) to the base tracklist—bringing another monumental clash of forces to the Maestro stage.
