Google Unveils Pixel 10 Lineup With AI Features, New Watch and Earbuds

by admin August 21, 2025

In brief

  • The Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a also debuted, adding AI health tools and translation.
  • Google introduced Pixelsnap, a Qi2 magnetic charging system with new accessories.
  • A new AI voice assistant, Gemini for Home, will replace Google Assistant on Nest devices.

Google unveiled the Pixel 10 lineup on Wednesday at its annual Made by Google event, rolling out four new phones alongside a smartwatch, earbuds, and a smart home assistant.

Each device leans on on-device artificial intelligence to power features from messaging to photography.

While the star-studded event included guests like Jimmy Fallon, Steph Curry, and the Jonas Brothers, the main star was the Pixel 10 family, which includes four models—the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold—all running on Google’s new Tensor G5 chip.

The processor powers Gemini Nano, a lighter version of the company’s AI model that runs directly on the device and enables more than 20 generative tools without relying on the cloud.

New AI features

The upgrades reflect Google’s broader push to weave Gemini AI into every product, a strategy it ramped up last year with sweeping updates to Search, Images, and Google Meet.

“We’ve been building toward this universal AI assistant with Gemini,” Google Senior VP of Platforms and Devices Rick Osterloh said during the event. “The assistant has to be personal and intelligent enough to understand you and your context. And it has to be agentic, meaning it can take action for you under your direction.”

On the Pixel 10, that shows up in nine new AI-powered tools.

Magic Cue pulls context from Gmail, Calendar, and other apps during calls and messages. Voice Translate handles real-time translations in 12 languages, replicating each speaker’s voice. Call Screen expands with Take a Message, which generates transcripts for missed calls and suggests follow-ups.

Google is also embedding AI into everyday habits. Pixel Journal offers reflection prompts, Gboard can rewrite texts in different tones, Recorder turns hummed melodies into music, and NotebookLM links screenshots and transcripts into a searchable notebook.

Gemini Live adds visual help by analyzing the camera or screen and is tied into Google apps, including Calendar, Keep, and Tasks, with Messages and Maps support on the way. Its updated voice model sounds more natural and lets users adjust speed, tone, and accents.

The Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL will begin shipping on August 28th. Pre-orders for these models are open now. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be available for pre-order on August 20th, with shipping starting on October 9th.

The timing matters: Apple has delayed its own “Apple Intelligence” features into 2026, giving Google a chance to win consumers with AI functions that actually ship.

Gemini for Home

Google is also extending its AI push beyond phones—starting with the home, introducing Gemini for Home, a new voice assistant set to replace Google Assistant in Nest devices.

Rolling out in October with free and paid tiers, it’s designed to handle more complex commands and respond in natural conversation.

Pixel 10 Phones

The Pixel 10 lineup spans four price points: $799 for the Pixel 10, $999 for the 10 Pro, $1,199 for the Pro XL, and $1,799 for the Pro Fold.

The Pixel 10 is the base model with a 6.3-inch display, standard triple-lens camera, and 12GB of RAM. The Pixel 10 Pro upgrades to a sharper LTPO screen, a more advanced camera system with 100x zoom, and 16GB of RAM.

The Pro Fold adds a foldable 8-inch inner display, an extra selfie camera, and the highest price tag in the lineup. Google says its new hinge is twice as durable, though it hasn’t released test data to back the claim.

Preorders are open now. The Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL ship Aug. 28. The Pro Fold launches Oct. 9.

Pixel Watch 4 and Buds 2a

The Pixel Watch 4, powered by Tensor G5, uses Fitbit integration for AI-based workout and wellness coaching.

The $129 Pixel Buds 2a and $229 Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer adaptive audio, Gemini integration, noise cancellation, and real-time translation.

All confirmed Black Ops 7 features

by admin August 21, 2025

The floodgates have opened on another new Call of Duty, and there’s a lot of new info to digest about it.

Black Ops 7 made its full debut during gamescom’s Opening Night Live, and it’s coming to consoles and PC players in just a few months. Offering a campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes, there’s plenty of tidbits of intel within each that players can now sink their teeth into in anticipation.

Here’s everything we’ve learned about BO7 so far, directly from Treyarch and Activision.

Black Ops 7 confirmed information – Everything we know

This is an exhaustive list of what we know so far to be true and confirmed about BO7. This list will grow over time leading up to the game’s launch later in 2025.

Multiplayer

Omnimovement evolved

BO6’s omnimovement is back with some new changes, like a wall jump, the removal of Tactical Sprint, and the inability to ADS while sliding, diving, or wall jumping, but these movement features can all be re-enabled using specific Perks.

30 weapons at launch

Here’s an incomplete list of all of the game’s launch weapons.

  • Assault rifles (6)
    • Peacekeeper MK1 (from BO2)

  • Looper
    • Loop scorestreaks continuously.
  • Agility
    • Increased move speed and recovery time.
  • Gung Ho
  • Networked
    • Share buffs with teammates.

Combat Specialty

This feature from BO6 has been tweaked, as equipping two Perks of the same specialty can now offer a hybrid bonus with a third as opposed to having to equip three of the same to earn the bonus.

Overclocks

Every piece of equipment, Field Upgrade, and Scorestreak can be leveled up to unlock modifiers that increase their functionality. This is reminiscent of Pro Perks from past CoD games, but for equipment.

Weapon Prestige

Weapon Prestige returns. Once a gun is max level, you can Prestige to reset its rank to unlock a unique attachment and camo. This can be done twice before reaching Master Prestige on the gun, with 250 additional levels and a unique camo to unlock.

Specialist Wildcard

The Specialist bonus will be a Wildcard you can equip in your loadout in BO7. This means you can earn a new Perk at 200, 400, and 600 score, with all Perks unlocking at 1,200 total score streak.

Campaign

Image via Activision

Co-op is back

The entire campaign can be played in co-op for up to four players. You play as Specter One unit soldiers David Mason, Mike Harper, Eric Samuels, and Leilani Tupuola. BO6 character Troy Marshall also appears in a scene with Mason as they visit the grave of Frank Woods. The campaign takes place in 2035 and the main antagonist appears to be The Guild, a company utilizing AI and robots to do its dirty work.

A trippy story

In the footage shown, David Mason and his Specter One team are attacked with some kind of hallucinogenic gas, which makes them see things like massive machetes falling from the sky, twisted architecture, and more.

Treyarch described the campaign as having “surreal dreamscapes,” where you have to deal with “a weapon that turns fear into a tool of war” that will leave the characters “trapped in paranoia.”

Menendez lives?

Raul Menendez appears to be alive somehow, even after David Mason killed him in the canon ending of BO2. Something is up, and the team heads to Avalon to figure things out at the start of the story.

New Endgame feature

The 12th and final mission of the campaign is a 32-player map of Avalon with “endless sessions,” called Endgame. Players can rank up their operators and level up until they can reach high tier difficulty areas, but progression is reset upon dying.

Little else is known about this mission and feature thus far, but it can be played in co-op and tasks players with leveling up and equipping new abilities to help defeat the enemies within as they delve deeper into Avalon to find out the truth.

Campaign Camos and XP

The campaign and Endgame will feature their own set of camos, including four Mastery camos, and XP that can be earned no matter what you play, so that you are always leveling up your account or battle pass no matter what.

Zombies

Image via Activision

New round-based map

The new map for BO7 Zombies is “the biggest round-based map ever.” It features a Wonder Vehicle that players must construct to drive between locations on the map. The only location revealed thus far is called Farm.

OG crew returns

Richtofen, Dempsey, Nicholai, and Takeo return in the Dark Aether. Treyarch said that this is a “new iteration” of the original crew.

Survival maps coming

Each section of the larger RBZ map will be turned into Survival maps, which are smaller, self-contained areas of the map that players can jump into and play with all Perks and necessary items present instead of having to experience the overarching map.

Dead Ops Arcade returns

The top-down, twin-stick shooter arcade mode will return in its fourth iteration.

Warzone

Image via Activision

Nothing has been confirmed for Warzone yet. Info about the battle royale mode will likely come later this year at Call of Duty Next before BO7 launches. However, given past years, it’s probable that Warzone will get BO7 guns, movement, and equipment as part of an update in season one.

This article will be updated with new information as it becomes available.

Verizon’s Simple Mobile and Total Wireless Plans Expand International Features

by admin August 20, 2025

Travel patterns are changing, with more people in the US venturing outside the country and needing to stay connected. To accommodate this surge, Verizon is boosting the international options in its prepaid Simple Mobile and Total Wireless phone brands starting Aug. 28.

Most phone plans include options to call and text people in Canada and Mexico, along with some roaming options for US travelers. Depending on the plan, those options are extended to many other countries around the globe. But you often end up paying for a more expensive plan than you need in order to get the travel benefits.

Now, the Simple Mobile and Total Wireless brands are expanding their international options and increasing data allotments so you can travel using the plan you carry every day without the stress of finding local coverage.

See also: Make sure you have a good phone for traveling.

Simple Mobile changes

The Simple Mobile prepaid plans include an allotment of high-speed data before downshifting to slower unlimited data. Be sure to check the details for specific countries on the site. Here’s how they break down:

  • The $25 Unlimited plan includes 15GB of high-speed data (up from 3GB) and unlimited calling to more than 100 countries.

  • The $30 Unlimited plan includes 20GB of high-speed data (up from 5GB) and unlimited calling to more than 125 countries (up from 100 countries).

  • The $40 Unlimited plan includes 30GB of high-speed data (up from 15GB) and unlimited calling to more than 125 countries (up from 100 countries).

  • The $50 Unlimited World plan, formerly named the Truly Unlimited plan, includes unlimited high-speed data and unlimited calling to more than 200 countries (a doubling of the number of countries from before).

  • The $60 Unlimited World Plus plan, formerly the Truly Unlimited Plus plan, includes unlimited access to Verizon’s fastest network, 5G Ultra Wideband (where available) and unlimited high-speed data. It also doubles the number of countries with unlimited calling to over 200, and offers international roaming in more than 140 countries.

Total Wireless Plans

The top two Total Wireless plans, Total 5G Unlimited ($50 a month) and Total 5G Unlimited Plus ($60 a month), feature unlimited high-speed data, including 5G Ultra Wideband speeds.

As of Aug. 28, roaming coverage for those plans doubles to more than 30 countries and international calling to 180 countries.

The Total Base 5G Unlimited plan stays the same with unlimited high-speed data (but not 5G Ultra Wideband), international calling to more than 85 countries and texting to over 200 destinations and roaming in Canada and Mexico.

ROG Xbox Ally Handheld Launch Date Set For October, Features Steam Deck-Style Compatibility

by admin August 20, 2025

A release date for the ROG Xbox Ally has been revealed, as the handheld gaming PC will be go on sale starting October 16. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed pricing for the devices yet, but it did explain how games will be optimized for these systems. One thing to note here is that there will be two different versions of the ROG Xbox Ally–a base model and a more premium “X” handheld–so performance will vary across them.

During its Gamecom 2025 livestream, Microsoft said that the base model Xbox Ally targets a resolution of 720p, while the Xbox Ally X aims for a 1080p resolution. Both units can run in one of three modes–Silent, Performance, and Turbo–and for frame rates, games that hit certain benchmarks will receive a specific compatibility tag.

Microsoft says that it has worked with game studios to optimize thousands of games for handheld compatibility, with the overall goal here being that you can install them and start playing right away. This has resulted in two tags that will accompany optimized games, similar to Valve’s Steam Deck Verified program for its handheld gaming PC:

Handheld Optimized

Games that are ready to go with default controller inputs, an intuitive text input method, accurate iconography, clear text legibility, and appropriate resolution in full-screen mode.

Mostly Compatible

Games that may require minor in-game setting changes for an optimal experience on handheld.

Additionally, there’ll be other tags that will give you an idea of how well a game will perform on the Xbox Ally:

Should perform well on your device

  • Games that run at 30fps or above

Should perform great on your device

  • Games that run at 60fps or above

Performance check not available yet

  • Games that haven’t been tested yet

Microsoft added that more technical features will also be made available in the future, including advanced shader delivery that preloads game shaders during download. This will make games run more smoothly and use less battery power on first play. Enhancements to the docking experience for the devices are also in the works and several accessories will be released for it as well.

The company also recently spoke about how handheld consoles like the Xbox Ally tie into its next-gen console plans, as Microsoft is looking to create a broad ecosystem for players that will allow them to play their games at home or on the go.

New SILENT HILL f Trailer features English voiceovers for the first time

by admin August 19, 2025

Silent Hill f is a new entry in the iconic psychological horror series that follows Hinako Shimizu (voiced by Konatsu Kato in Japanese and Suzie Yeung in English) as her secluded hometown of Ebisugaoka, Japan becomes consumed by mysterious fog that transforms her familiar surroundings into a nightmarish landscape.

Created by renowned author Ryukishi07 with music by longtime Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, the game challenges players to navigate the twisted, fog-covered town while solving complex puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters to survive.

The story explores themes of “doubt, regret, and inescapable choices” with a central focus on finding “beauty in terror,” as players must determine whether Hinako will discover the hidden beauty within the horror or succumb to the madness that surrounds her. This new chapter in the Silent Hill series blends traditional psychological horror with a haunting Japanese setting, promising an atmospheric experience that distinguishes it from previous Western-developed entries in the franchise. I can’t wait!

A terrifying new story trailer for SILENT HILL f featuring the English voice-acting cast for the first time has just emerged from the fog during gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase.  When Hinako Shimizu’s secluded town of Ebisugaoka is consumed by a sudden fog, her once-familiar home becomes a haunting nightmare. As the town falls silent and the fog thickens, Hinako must navigate the twisted paths of Ebisugaoka, solving complex puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters to survive.

SILENT HILL f releases Sept. 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games, and Microsoft Windows. You can now pre-order the Standard and Deluxe editions for both digital and physical versions. For more news on SILENT HILL f, stay tuned to GamingTrend!

Nvidia’s app gets global DLSS override and more control panel features

Nvidia’s app gets global DLSS override and more control panel features

by admin August 19, 2025

The Nvidia app is getting improvements to DLSS override, more control panel features, and Project G-Assist changes this week. Nvidia has been gradually improving its new app over the past 18 months since its release, and it’s getting closer to fully migrating all the legacy control panel options.

This week’s Nvidia app update will include anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, and ambient occlusion options, meaning you won’t have to navigate to Nvidia’s older control panel app to improve classic games. The setup tool for Nvidia Surround will also be part of the Nvidia app now.

You also won’t have to configure DLSS override features on a per game basis anymore, as Nvidia is now adding a global option. You can set your DLSS preferences across all override supported games, and Nvidia’s overlay will also show which DLSS settings are active if you toggle this option on.

Nvidia is also bringing its new Smooth Motion feature, which was previously exclusive to RTX 50-series GPUs, to all RTX 40-series owners. It’s a driver-based AI model that enables smoother gameplay for games that don’t support DLSS Frame Generation. Smooth Motion can be applied to games running with DLSS Super Resolution, at native resolution, or even titles with other upscaling technologies. Nvidia says it will typically double “the perceived frame rate.”

If you’re a fan of Nvidia’s G-Assist AI assistant, Nvidia is changing the AI model behind the scenes so it will use 40 percent less memory. The smaller footprint won’t affect performance either, as it’s designed to respond even faster to queries.

These latest Nvidia app changes will arrive on August 19th for beta users at 9AM PT / 12PM ET, followed by a general release next week.
