IGN Fan Fest: Fall Edition 2025 Partner Lineup Announced

IGN Fan Fest is returning this October with a special Fall Edition of the event. Fans will be able to watch celebrity interviews, exclusive gameplay, trailers, and deep dives across movies, TV, games, and more during the one-day event on October 15.

There will be more than 80 exclusive reveals in the main show beginning at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, with an additional 25 trailers, clips, and interviews in the countdown at 9am PT.

The event will include appearances from some of the biggest names in pop culture, including:

Having resurrected The Crew, devs behind fan revival project are now working on a big mod to restore the racer to “greatness”

Earlier this month, fan-made revival project The Crew Unlimited, brought Ubisoft’s decommissioned racer The Crew back to life in server emulated PC form. Now, its devs have put out an update outlining a couple of things they’re working on to try and take things to the next level.

This looks to be the first time the group have been able to catch their breath since releasing The Crew Unlimited on September 15th, having had to work flat out on fixes for teething issues in the immediate aftermath. Some of those problems stemmed from some players having acquired broken versions of The Crew’s game files from “shady sources”, with TCU’s devs saying they aren’t responsible for the server emulator not working in these cases.

That brings us to the ‘post-launch recap and what’s next’ post The Crew Unlimited lead Whammy put up on the project’s Patreon page late yesterday. “The reception has been quite overwhelming,” they wrote to kick off. “We’re extremely grateful for all the support we’ve received, it really means a lot to us. The amount of people who were eagerly awaiting the return of this decade old game really says a lot about how much this game means to people.”

Getting down to brass tacks, Whammy wrote that the team’s current focus is getting some more “important fixes” for their creation’s launcher and server out of the door, with the former also set for an interface rework. In the long-term, there are two larger initiatives they’ve got in the works, with one being a beefy overhaul mod and the other being a revamp of the project’s website that’ll integrate it with the game’s resurrected online multiplayer.

Starting with the mod, which the modders are collaborating with other Crew community members on, it’s “a collection of essential and lore-friendly fixes, improvements and content restorations”. The goal is to bring The Crew back “to a level of greatness it once had, while retaining all the new DLC content and features”, as The Crew Unlimited’s creators aren’t fans of the “abysmal state” Ubisoft left the racer in once its last updates rolled out. The group seem to particularly dislike the effect 2015’s Wild Run update had.

The second addition the works is dubbed “TCU Net 2.0”, and will be a revamp of The Crew Unlimited’s current website that’ll introduce a system of online features linked to the project’s in-game online experience. For instance, you’ll be able access the likes of “user profiles, scores, friends, posts, [and] rewards”. It sounds quite Rockstar Social Club-ish in principle at least, so it’ll be interesting to see if the modders can pull it off.

“As you can see, we have quite ambitious goals,” Whammy concluded. “But with enough time and your support, we believe we can achieve them.” Given the achievement that just getting their server emulator up and running likely was, it’s cool to see the team continue to aim high. The question remains as to whether The Crew Unlimited might face some lawyerly action from Ubisoft at some point, if the publisher believes it has a case, but all appears quiet on that front thus far.

When Final Fantasy Tactics was released in 1997, it was lauded as a masterful tactical role-playing game (RPG), mixing impressive visual effects with depth-filled combat and a stellar narrative. But now, this beloved title has been reborn, affording longtime fans as well as new players the chance to experience it all. Enter Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles – Square Enix’s remaster of a true classic.

This expanded remaster brings plenty of shiny new stuff to the table. It’s fully voice-acted, has considerably upgraded visuals, and a fair few quality-of-life updates. All of these are available in the ‘Enhanced’ edition of the game, but you can also play through the original if you’d prefer, which uses the translation from War of the Lions – an updated version of the game which launched on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) back in 2007.

Anyway, I’ve played through the entirety of the Enhanced version of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, and I’ve got plenty of thoughts – most of which are positive, fans will be delighted to hear! Let’s take a closer look at this remaster, then, and find out if it can do justice to a real fan favorite.

An adventure like no other

If you’re new to Final Fantasy Tactics, I’ll give you a quick rundown of the game’s premise. Ramza Beoulve is a highborn young man, who is thrust into a deeply political, brutal conflict – one that centers around two nobles vying for the throne of Ivalice.

Ramza – alongside his allies – will play a gigantic part in the war’s trajectory…though his actions will later be obscured in the history books. It is up to you, the player, to uncover the truth behind this conflict – and the importance of Ramza’s role within it.

You’ll control young Ramza and his allies across various battlefields, which use a tile configuration – something that fans of the Fire Emblem series, for example, will be well familiar with. You’ll have to level up your characters, recruit increasingly powerful units, and make use of the renowned job system – one of the best parts of the game, hands down.

You can switch between a number of jobs – spell casters like Black and White Mages, sword users like Squires and Knights, and a whole lot more. A key difference in the Enhanced version is that there’s a fully-fledged Job Tree, which makes it easy to understand how to unlock each class, and lets you track your progress in doing so.

I had a huge amount of fun creating an army-crushing squad in The Ivalice Chronicles. Creating a monk, who could heal and hit-hard, while also using the Ninja’s dual wield skill for 2x the power, made for a truly devastating combination.

As had previously been the case, you earn job points in battle to increase a unit’s proficiency in a particular class, through which you can earn new abilities and passive skills. Mixing and matching skills from different jobs is great fun – and optimizing your skillset will be crucial if you want to make it through the main story, which is by no means a breeze…more on that later.

Some jobs do take ages to unlock – but it doesn’t always feel worth your time, given that some of the classes further along the tree have skills that seem a little situational. Still, you don’t have to make use of these jobs. One of my main units, for reference, was a monk – a melee fighter class you unlock pretty early. I just ensured that he had secondary skills from the Ninja class to keep him primed for late-game combat.

If your beloved monk unit dies in battle, for example, it may well be gone forever…devastating, I know. When a character faints, a display with three hearts will appear above it, and one heart will deplete for each turn a character remains unconscious. If you don’t revive it or complete the battle objective within this time, it will be gone forever.

New auto-save slots have made it easier to go back to before your unit dies – which is a very welcome inclusion. I used this a fair amount in my playthrough. After all, do you really want to spend hours on end re-training a new unit? Personally, I don’t have time for all that!

There’s one more thing I’d like to note about perma-death. In Fire Emblem titles, your units typically have a unique appearance and personality – something that can leave you feeling attached to them, and this causes deaths to feel that little bit more gutting.

In Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, though, a lot of characters have identical appearances and no personality beyond their brief vocal soundbites. This meant I wasn’t particularly attached or interested in my standard units – I often replaced them with special ones that play a more direct role in the plot, have unique costumes, and join your party as you progress through the story. By the way, Cloud from Final Fantasy VII (one of my favorite games, and one of the best RPGs of all time) is one of these…how cool is that?!

Speaking of special units, some of these are going to be extremely helpful – and sometimes almost feel necessary – to get through story battles. There’s one in particular who will join you late on, who is seriously powerful. I won’t spoil who it is for newcomers, but without them, I’d have been toast on a number of occasions.

Yes, I’ll be honest, I found The Ivalice Chronicles to be hard. At times, very hard. I’m an RPGs guy, and have finished some pretty punishing titles – yes, even Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. But the thing that caught me off guard in this game was its severe difficulty spikes.

Some of these, especially early on, forced me to better my understanding of the title’s impressively deep battle mechanics – stuff like zodiac compatibility, faith, and bravery elements require close attention.

Difficulty spikes later on, though, could feel pretty frustrating. I went from reconsidering my team’s build and strategy early on to reconsidering whether my sanity was still intact by the end. These spikes can make progression feel a little uneven, it has to be said, although there are ways to push through the most challenging encounters.

For instance, you can hop into random battles on the world map to grind up your levels and earn job points to get better healing skills, spells, and combat abilities. And these are entirely at your own pace – don’t fancy a random encounter? Just press flee and you can skip it. Need some EXP? Run around for a bit and prepare for battle. I love that you’re not forced into fights – something that can make some RPGs feel repetitive and relentless.

In addition, you can complete errands, which give you gil (the game’s currency) to spend on better armor, weapons, headgear, and accessories. They can also give you experience points and job points. These are entirely optional and are a useful way to earn experience for any backup units you want to use in the event of a character dying, for example.

Anyway, after you’ve been struggling in a fight and you’ve taken some time to train up, you’ll likely find a route to victory. And when you do, you’re going to feel very satisfied – I know I did. The endgame especially was pretty rough for me, but I got there in the end. It’s worth noting that I played the whole game on Knight difficulty – the sort of ‘normal’ level. However, the Enhanced version adds an easy mode, Squire, and a hard mode, Tactician – that one’s for the show-offs.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles has a stellar narrative – one that plays to themes that are arguably even more timely now than they were almost 30 years ago.

The conflict I mentioned earlier takes place after a separate 50-year-long war, which has left much of the kingdom in economic turmoil. Distrust in the ruling class is at an all-time high, with the masses left to struggle in a ruined kingdom while nobles indulge in luxury. The world was, and remains, incredibly designed, with a new ‘state of the realm’ page that clarifies story details and can refresh your memory of character names, among other things.

State of the realm is one of many additions – most of which make for a much more refined experience. Personally, I love the revamped graphics – the game remains true to its roots, visually speaking. Battle animations are incredibly fluid, backdrops are beautifully composed, and colors really pop, injecting a ton of character into this complex world. The incredible score also adds so much texture to the world, and even random encounter tracks, like Apoplexy and Desert Land, had my head bopping mid-battle.

Functionally speaking, one of the best new features is fast-forward, which makes the pace of battle so much more palatable. A lot of movement and combat does feel pretty sluggish, so being able to speed through your enemy’s actions is most welcome. This also helps if you’re sitting through dialogue you’re already familiar with, and I made extensive use of it.

I already mentioned stuff like difficulty options, the job tree, and auto-save – and these all feel like considered, user-friendly inclusions – but despite that, there was some stuff I wasn’t loving about the Enhanced version.

This might be controversial, but I think the voice acting is, at best, just OK. Some characters are well represented. Ben Starr – who was phenomenal as Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – does a good job with the cunning and crafty Dycedarg. The personalities of other characters, including Agrias, Cidolfus, and Ramza himself, are also communicated well – but the same can’t be said for others.

Some performances feel a little restrained, non-special characters occasionally have inconsistent accents or tones of voice, and some non-player characters (NPCs) have voices that don’t match their sprites whatsoever. I mean, am I really meant to believe this teenage-looking soldier sounds like a 50-year-old geezer from the east end of London?

Furthermore, I was frustrated by the game’s camera on numerous occasions. Sometimes, it would pan to a bizarre angle that prevented me from seeing the on-screen action. A new overhead tactical view did remedy this at times, but I would’ve liked some further improvements here. Otherwise, performance is fantastic on the PS5 version, no notes.

There’s one more thing that didn’t bother me too much, but will be a concern for others. Content from War of the Lions is largely missing in this remaster. That means that its side content and drawn cutscenes have been mostly left out – something that will upset fans of the well-regarded PSP version, I’m sure.

Still, though, I have to say that I had a great time with Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. Yes, I have some minor gripes – severe difficulty spikes, a sometimes flawed camera, and imperfect voice acting, above all. But those things are certainly not enough to get in the way of an unforgettable adventure, packed with satisfyingly deep combat, a timely, well-written story, and a great score. The quality of life upgrades and enhanced visuals make this the ultimate way for new players to explore Ivalice, and if you’re a fan of tactical RPGs, this remains easy to recommend.

Accessibility features

There are a few useful accessibility settings in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. For instance, there’s a sound visualization option, which displays in-game sounds on the edges of the screen, as well as the choice to show speaker names during spoken exchanges.

There are also sound effect subtitles, volume sliders, multiple text languages (Japanese, English, German, and French), and both English and Japanese voice language options. Unfortunately, there is no colorblind mode or similar.

OK, so I spent more than 50 hours playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, battling through the entire main story, a healthy portion of side content, errands, and random encounters. I played the Enhanced version of the game in order to assess the remaster’s quality of life upgrades, graphical improvements, and voice acting.

I played the PS5 edition of the game, with my console connected up to the Sky Glass Gen 2 television and the Samsung HW-Q800D soundbar. When I was out and about, I’d also occasionally dip into the game via remote play on my Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, but this was pretty rare.

Personally, I’ve reviewed a variety of games here at TechRadar, including recent releases like Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army and Drag x Drive. I’ve also played a number of tactical RPGs, such as Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, and a range of Final Fantasy titles.

How Indie Fan Fest aims to give games a boost ahead of Steam Next Fest

Back in July, indie publisher Digital Bandidos and event organiser The MIX announced the launch of a new showcase championing indie developers.

Indie Fan Fest, which premieres tomorrow (September 24), is set to highlight upcoming indie titles preparing to debut playable demos during October’s Steam Next Fest.

Ahead of the debut showcase, GamesIndustry.biz spoke with Digital Bandidos CEO Steve Escalante and The MIX co-founder Justin Woodward on their partnership, how Indie Fan Fest came to be, and what they hope to achieve with future showcases.

The interview below has been edited for brevity and clarity.

Steve, how’s it been going since Versus Evil shut down in 2023?

Steve Escalante: Versus Evil was really just a great run. When Lance [James] and I decided to start Digital Bandidos, it was because there was a lot left undone and that’s resonant in the relationships that we have.

I feel like we’re in the right place – we’ve got about a half a dozen games that we’ve signed, a couple of which haven’t been announced, several have. I’m jealous of the back catalogue revenue stream that I used to have at Versus Evil, where it had that revenue flowing in and paying for things.

But we’re rebuilding, we’re having a lot of fun. We’re seeing a lot of great developers, great games, and the team we have surrounding us at Digital Bandidos is awesome. So we’re pretty psyched.

Where did the idea for Indie Fan Fest originate? What was the pitch?

Escalante: Digital Bandidos has been working for some time now to try to help indies with discovery. There’s only a finite number of groups and events that you can be a part of to try to get your title seen.

The reality is that indies are limited, and we’re limited by the fact that most indies have to use guerrilla-type tactics, and they don’t have a lot of money. They can’t inject capital, they can’t do all of these things AAA or AA companies can do – coming from AAA, I know that to be true.

The idea for Indie Fan Fest came from [asking how we can give teams] a boost, perhaps with enough advance notice in front of a Next Fest where Steam can drive organic lift during that time period. Since we didn’t know how to do a show, we reached out to Justin and Joel [Dreskin] and the guys over at The MIX. They’ve always been supporting indies in a very grassroots and authentic way.

The core competency of the event was to give indies momentum, and then as they roll into Next Fest, Valve and Steam sees what they’re doing and gives them a boost, and the rest is hopefully history.

How is Indie Fan Fest financed? Do developers need to pay a submission fee to be featured?

Escalante: Yes, there is a small submission fee, which is typical to what The MIX does. Once you get selected, there’s a $600 fee. We also have sponsors to help with other things as well.

We wanted to provide a low barrier to entry. Because as soon as you say to an indie publisher, ‘It only costs $2,000,’ [They’re] like, ‘Excuse me?’ We guard every penny, everything that we can.

Justin Woodward: With that frame of mind, we’re working with Steam [to boost the event]. Anytime we have a Steam event page, we drive thousands of wishlists to the games. And we keep to the barrier of entry so it’s affordable.

So these developers can take advantage of the situation without feeling like their pockets are getting taken advantage of.

Even if one of the games is amazing, but the developer can’t even afford that, we’ll still work with them and say, ‘Hey, we want your game, we want your content. We’ll take care of that. Don’t worry about it.’

It’s all about building a grassroots community around this Indie Next Fest in order to have this as a sustainable platform for the future, not just this one event.

Every time there’s a Steam Next Fest, we [plan to] have an Indie Fan Fest in front of it, and hopefully it gets larger and larger. Maybe in the future we could do a physical event, which would be amazing.

Steam Next Fest is a huge event, and developers can struggle to get noticed. Was this one of the catalysts for creating your own event to spotlight indie developers?

Woodward: I think it’s a complementary way to highlight games so they get visibility. We’re finding… I don’t want to say diamonds in the rough, but we are finding games that may not surface that can hopefully get a huge boost from this kind of support.

Escalante: The reality is, if you think about how many games are launched from a monthly perspective, you’ve got a couple thousand games coming out.

When we first crafted this idea, we thought that while we can help a lot of people, the reality is a show format is also limited. So how do we try to create the right type of momentum, acknowledgement, and promotion around a title to help developers?

We’d love to be able to help everybody, but in the show format and a lot of other formats, which includes Steam Next Fest, it’s really, really hard because there’s just so many titles.

As the ones controlling what games are featured, how do you choose which titles will be shown on Indie Fan Fest?

Woodward: Both teams [Digital Bandidos and The MIX] went through this plethora of games. Also, we have to think in multiples, we have to think of our audience [and what they want to see].

We also have to consider the pacing of the show and the types of games we’re going to showcase within that.

For example, we had a bunch of Metroidvanias. We can’t pick 20 of those games, so we had to figure out which ones are unique, which ones have been overexposed, and which ones haven’t had the exposure that we think that they may need to move forward.

We also have to consider our broadcasting partners, who are looking at the content to see what their audience wants. So in that context, we want these tentpole games that will help lift up the smaller games that don’t have the exposure.

So there are some strategic things we have to think about while we’re picking the games. The whole thing is very well thought out, and we’re communicating with the Digital Bandidos team, who have a different eye and ethos behind what they’re looking at. So it’s very helpful to have those contrasting thoughts.

Have you been inundated with developers sending trailers to be featured in the showcase, or have you had to chase people?

Woodward: After we started really pushing it on LinkedIn and all these different places, we’re getting trailers after the fact, and we’re trying to figure out how to slot stuff in.

In total, we’ve had about 700 trailers come in for this mixed with the Fall showcase, but an overwhelming amount of them were for Indie Fan Fest. It’s a really clear positive that this is something that folks want. As a matter of fact, it was kind of difficult to say no to some of these. They’re amazing, but [we] can’t have a three-hour show, or else people would get lost.

But there’ll definitely be more opportunities. It’s good because I think a lot of developers and even publishers break their backs to hit the first Steam Next Fest and try to get a position. Now that we have this show, folks can strategize and maybe they can be more thoughtful on where they slot their Steam Next Fest positioning, because you only get one. So I think this is going to be a net positive and helpful for folks.

Escalante: We’ve been really flattered with how many people wanted to be part of this first show. The next one’s going to be bigger, better, with a lot more services and information, and hopefully we can help people strategize. It’s a very important event for indie developers – it’s a wishlist driver, it’s about developing a relationship with Valve, because they’re seeing the pickup that you get, and the hope is that we’re just helping.

Playing devil’s advocate, there’s a lot of these showcases… do we need another one?

Woodward and Escalante: Yes!

Woodward: The thing is, a lot of folks don’t have the expertise that we have in positioning those showcases. Not everyone has the partnerships that we have, either. There’s a lot of shows coming out left and right, and a lot of them don’t last. Some of them do, and there’s a few that I really hold in high regard. This is something I’m personally passionate about – it’s very, very necessary and I think we’re going to kill it.

It feels like discoverability is the problem that everyone’s facing, and it gets worse and worse all the time. How can that problem possibly be solved – or can it be solved?

Escalante: Digital Bandidos is actively working on a platform right now to solve discoverability. We feel that there are companies that are doing pieces of it, but they’re not doing everything that can be done.

There are only so many tools in indie development to get that type of notice and press for a console or PC launch. Now that the platforms have pretty much lowered the barrier to entry for products, that’s why we’ve seen an influx of content. So the challenge is going to get worse. We haven’t even seen the impact of what AI development is going to do, either.

I think it’s going to be exacerbated in the next couple of years, and because of that, we are hyperfocused on how do we help teams pre-launch, find users, create relationships with those users, have direct communications, and hopefully be able to mobilize them towards wishlists, purchases, and pre-orders.

So you’re talking about building a platform for indies?

Escalante: We feel that we have a formula to do it. I’m hoping that we can get there. It’s going to be a challenge, it’s going to be a long process, but I think it’s 100% needed to help them self-publish. There are companies that are doing pieces of it that are absolutely mobilizing and helpful, and people should be seeking those things out.

Kai Cenat surprises fan with new house and van during Mafiathon 3

Twitch star Kai Cenat shocked fans during his Mafiathon 3 broadcast after teaming up with content creator MDMotivator to gift a supporter and his mother a brand new van and home.

Cenat’s marathon event has already produced a number of viral moments, but his latest gesture might be the biggest yet. The streamer is currently running his third Mafiathon, a 24/7 broadcast featuring collaborations, challenges, and large-scale giveaways that consistently draw hundreds of thousands of viewers.

MDMotivator, real name Zack, is known for surprise giveaways and uplifting acts of generosity. The two joined forces on September 21 to meet a fan named Ruben and his mother, Karetta, who are facing eviction and struggling to keep Karetta’s transport business afloat.

Kai gifts fan new house and transport van

In a clip from the stream, Zack explained that Ruben thought he was only receiving a streaming PC. Hidden beneath the computer was a key to a new van for Karetta’s business, which transports formerly incarcerated individuals. Inside that van was another key, this time to a house.

Cenat and Zack then blindfolded Ruben and Karetta and drove them to their new home, where members of their church were waiting to welcome them in song. Zack had planned the surprise in advance, but he first met the family that morning at a bake sale where he told Ruben and Karetta they were going to meet Kai.

Cenat called the moment “the biggest thing I’ve ever done” live on Twitch, as the emotional surprise drew tears from several AMP crew members and capped off one of the most memorable segments of his marathon so far.

FEAR is one of those games we lament because the things that were great about it feel like they’ve been lost, for few now live who remember it. Sure, there’s Trepang2. But FEAR was so good there should be an entire subgenre based on it. There should be an entire cottage industry of indie studios making singleplayer shooters with slow-motion and advanced enemy AI and something supernatural thrown in to give you the willies just when you’re feeling overpowered.

Anyway, instead of being all sad about how history becomes legend and legend becomes myth, let’s celebrate the fact that FEAR remains incredibly playable today—if you download the Echo Patch. It’s not one of those games that’s completely busted without mods, but if you play it at any resolution above 1080p all the text will look like it was written for ants.

The Echo Patch fixes that, and adds controller support so you can play it on your Steam Deck. It also lets you disable the letterboxing in cutscenes and optionally make the flashlight last forever if you don’t want to have to chase down batteries for it.

In terms of bugfixes, the Echo Patch deals with a lot of problems that emerge if you run FEAR at high framerates. There’s “ragdoll physics instability” and “excessive water splash repetitions” if you go above 60 fps, and should you run it at more than 120 fps you’d find yourself unable to do a jump-kick, which is just unconscionable. All that and more is fixed in the Echo Patch.

It even makes the world state persistent, so all those bullet holes remain to remind you of the shootouts in days past. Bodies, blood, shell casings, and other debris hang around as well instead of despawning like it’s 2005 and we need to constantly clear the decks before your PC overheats from having to depict too many polygonal dead men at the same time.

The Echo Patch can be downloaded from Github, and is an easy install. Unzip it into the folder FEAR.exe is in, and tweak the .ini files if you want to enable optional stuff like turning off letterboxing or disabling the GOG version’s 60 fps limit.

Bloodlines 2 Won’t Lock Clans Behind Paywall After Fan Backlash

The controversy surrounding the DLC clans in the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is finally over. The studio behind the upcoming game has confirmed that it is walking back its plans to lock two clans behind a paywall after receiving lots of “feedback,” aka people yelled at them online for a while.

Last month, Bloodlines 2 devs The Chinese Room and publisher Paradox announced at Gamescom ONL that the long-awaited vampire RPG sequel would finally arrive on PC and consoles in October. After a lengthy and messy development cycle that involved multiple studios and delays, a lot of fans were just happy that Bloodlines 2 was actually, for real, coming out.  But then folks discovered that two of the game’s six vampire clans, which essentially act as your class, were locked behind a $30 paywall. People got mad, a lot of negative headlines were posted, and about a week later, on August 27, the devs announced they were going to make some tweaks to the DLC plans. And now we know what that means: All six clans are included in the base game.

On September 17, in the YouTube description of a new Bloodlines 2 gameplay overview trailer, the executive producer on the game thanked fans for the “frank feedback” about the game’s Premium Edition DLC before confirming that none of the clans would be locked behind a day-one DLC paywall. He also praised the devs for helping create two new story packs that will now be included in the Premium Edition.

“Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition,” said Bloodlines 2 executive producer Marco Behrmann. “That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing. We’d also like to thank The Chinese Room for their quick turnaround on the concepts for the post-launch Story Packs. We’re constantly impressed by their creativity and skill in weaving enticing narrative threads that expand on the main story in Bloodlines 2.”

The two new story packs are: “Loose Cannon“ (Brujah Sheriff Benny’s story) and “The Flower & The Flame” (Toreador Primogen Ysabella’s path). The plan is for this DLC, which replaces the missing paid access to clans, to launch in 2026. And so ends the Bloodlines 2 DLC saga. Hopefully, after all of this and all the years of waiting, the game is worth it all. We’ll find out when Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launches on Xbox, PS5, and PC on October 21.

Fan Token Firm Chiliz Acquires 2-Time ‘Dota 2’ Champions, OG Esports

The Chiliz Group, which operates the Socios.com crypto fan token platform, announced Tuesday that it has acquired a 51% controlling stake in OG Esports, the competitive gaming organization founded in 2015 by Dota 2 legends Johan “nOtail” Sundstein and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs.

OG made history as the first team to win consecutive titles at The International—the annual, high-profile Dota 2 world championship tournament—in 2018 and 2019, and has since expanded into multiple games including Counter-Strike, Honor of Kings, and Marvel Rivals.

The team was also the first esports organization to join the Socios platform with the 2020 debut of its own fan token, which Chiliz said recently became the first esports team token to exceed a $100 million market capitalization.

OG was recently priced at $16.88, up nearly 9% on the day following the announcement. The token’s price peaked at a new all-time high of $24.78 last week ahead of The International 2025, where OG did not compete this year.

Following the acquisition, Xavier Oswald will assume the CEO role, while the co-founders will turn their attention to “a new strategic project consolidating the team’s competitive foundation [and] driving innovation at the intersection of esports and Web3,” per a press release.

No further details were provided regarding that project.

“Bringing OG into the Chiliz Group is a major step toward further strengthening fan experiences, one where the community doesn’t just watch from the sidelines but gets to shape the journey,” Chiliz CEO Alex Dreyfus told Decrypt. “With the team’s legacy, founders like Johan and Ceb still front and center, and a digitally native fanbase, we have the perfect foundation to explore a next-gen model for esports engagement.”



“Working with the OG founders, we will explore making the $OG shop a window [into] what fan tokens can bring to fan communities,” he added. “That could mean token-based governance, NFT ticketing, exclusive drops, or on-chain loyalty systems, and possibly even innovative ideas like tying buybacks to team revenue and tournament prizes.”

OG currently has the highest market cap of any fan token on the Socios.com platform, according to data from CoinGecko. Socios has also introduced official tokens tied to traditional sports giants like Juventus, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain F.C., along with the UFC fighting league.

Socios.com will serve as the exclusive platform for OG fan tokens, positioning the token as an example of the evolving fan economy that integrates real-world assets, merchandise, and club revenues.

“We’re still early in this partnership, but the goal is clear: to align OG’s competitive success with real, on-chain value for their global fanbase,” said Dreyfus. “This is where esports and Web3 can truly come together.”

IGN Fan Fest 2025: Fall Edition features new looks at Anno 117: Pax Romana and Dispatch

IGN Fan Fest is returning this October for its Fall Edition.

Featuring over 75 content partners across games, movies, and streaming, viewers can expect new game announcements alongside trailers and exclusive clips.

These include new looks at Ubisoft’s Anno 117: Pax Romana, AdHoc Studio’s Dispatch, and 2K’s WWE 2K25, as well as Netflix’s Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch animated series.

The Fall Edition will also feature celebrity interviews for upcoming films and shows, including Keanu Reeves and Aziz Ansari for Good Fortune.

Further details will be revealed over the coming weeks.

IGN Fan Fest 2025: Fall Edition starts on October 15 at 9am PDT/12pm EDT/5pm BST with a one-hour broadcast of gameplay, trailers, and first looks.

This will be followed by the main event, starting at 10am PDT/1pm EDT/6pm BST on IGN.com, YouTube, Steam, Facebook, Twitch, and X.
