Strategy Stock Falls as Robinhood Beats It to S&P 500 Inclusion

Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) missed out on being added to the S&P 500 index on Friday, despite hopes of inclusion after the company posted one of the strongest quarters in its history and met all criteria for joining the index.

The stock of the largest corporate bitcoin BTC$110,637.97 holder declined nearly 3% after market hours, erasing all of Friday’s gains. The inclusion would have been a significant milestone for the company and for the industry as it would have exposed millions of average investors and portfolio managers to the company, potentially acting as a bullish catalyst.

In a surprise move on Friday, the digital trading platform Robinhood (HOOD), with growing crypto ambitions, was included in the S&P 500 index, driving the stock 7% higher after the market close. The changes will go into effect on September 22.

Before Friday, only two crypto-linked stocks were part of the index: Crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) and Jack Dorsey’s Block (XYZ). Robinhood will now be added to this coveted list.

WLFI Token Falls on Debut as Governance Weighs Liquidity Fee Buyback Plan

Less than a day through its Labor Day debut, World Liberty Financial’s WLFI token fell sharply as trading volume swelled nearly tenfold.

The governance token dropped from a high of $0.33 to near $0.21 in late Monday trading before settling at around $0.245, with trading volume increasing from approximately $259 million at launch to $2.5 billion, according to data from CoinGecko.

WLFI is down approximately 14% from its debut price of $0.28, but remains significantly higher for early whitelisted buyers who acquired tokens at around $0.015 each.

In light of recent developments, a governance proposal has appeared, calling for all liquidity fees from the project’s pools to be directed toward buybacks and permanent burns.



Posted on the project’s governance forum, the proposal aims to redirect all fees from protocol-owned liquidity on Ethereum, BSC, and Solana into open-market WLFI purchases, which are then sent to a burn address, thereby permanently reducing the supply.

If approved, WLFI would collect fees from its own liquidity positions on Ethereum, BSC, and Solana, use them to buy tokens back on the market, and send the purchased tokens to a burn address.

The proposal describes this as a measure for “direct supply reduction” that would effectively increase “relative weight for committed long-term holders.” It also links the mechanism to network activity, stating that “more usage = more fees = more WLFI burned.”

However, analysts say the effect may be less decisive when weighed against WLFI’s broader token economics.

“While the buyback-and-burn model can provide structural support for the token price, its overall impact may be limited given WLFI’s large implied valuation and relatively low circulating supply,” Min Jung, senior analyst at quantitative trading firm Presto, told Decrypt.

Jung notes that supply pressures may also outweigh the proposal’s impact.

“The scale of upcoming unlocks is likely to exceed the buyback amount, and with few live products currently driving organic demand, the long-term effect on price stability remains uncertain,” Jung explained.

WLFI’s approach mirrors shareholder-return tactics more common in mature firms than in growth-stage ventures, Jung said.

“In traditional markets, companies with high growth typically reinvest profits rather than prioritizing buybacks or dividends,” he explained. “Allocating all liquidity fees exclusively to burns could limit WLFI’s flexibility to fund product development, ecosystem incentives, or strategic investments.”

But given the scale of WLFI’s fundraising, the treasury may still be “sufficient to support future growth,” he added.

Echoing that sentiment, Ryan Yoon, senior analyst at Tiger Research, told Decrypt the buyback-and-burn mechanism “should theoretically support token value through supply reduction.”

WLFI currently lacks “operational services beyond basic liquidity provision,” which could result in minimal fee generation, Yoon said.

Positioned as a decentralized finance project, World Liberty Financial was designed as a lending and borrowing service, although its core platform has yet to be launched. 

The Trump-backed venture has already rolled out a dollar-pegged stablecoin, USD1, which currently ranks as the sixth-largest by market capitalization, according to CoinGecko data.

The project was co-founded by nine individuals, including U.S. President Donald Trump, his three sons, and U.S. special envoy to the Middle East Steven Witkoff, according to its website.

In July, Trump disclosed he had earned a windfall of $57.3 million from the venture. Along with his meme coin deals and an exclusive dinner in April, the president’s links to crypto have stirred controversy in Washington, with some lawmakers claiming possible conflicts of interest.

TALLAHASSE, Fla. — Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said after a disappointing 31-17 loss to Florida State on Saturday that there are “no excuses” for what happened.

The Crimson Tide came into the game as a nearly two-touchdown favorite. But after a successful opening drive, they could not run the ball consistently, nor could they slow down Florida State and its new-look rushing game.

With two minutes left in the game, Florida State started celebrating on the field, while Alabama was left searching for answers — particularly in a season that started with College Football Playoff hopes in Year 2 under DeBoer.

“I choose to believe we’ve got a good football team,” DeBoer said. “But we can’t play on our heels. We’re not going to be what we think we can be, what we want to be, if that’s the case. And that falls on everyone. I don’t just point the finger at the players.”

Alabama started the game with a 16-play, 75-yard drive in which it set the tone up front, converted on third and fourth downs and could seemingly do no wrong. Even without starting running back Jam Miller, Alabama used an effective rotation and new starting quarterback Ty Simpson made some clutch throws.

But it was a slog after that, as Florida State adjusted defensively and started to turn the pressure up on Simpson. According to ESPN Research, the Seminoles pressured Simpson on 16 of his 51 dropbacks. He was 1-of-10 for 30 yards with three sacks when pressured.

Without Miller, Alabama used four different running backs, but they were ineffective. The longest run of the day was 13 yards.

“I think that we got a little complacent and we thought that we won on the first drive, and that’s not how it is,” Simpson said. “Credit to those guys. They played hard for four quarters. We kind of took it for granted. We got to sit here and finish drives. The first drive, no negative plays — and we just got to keep going.

“We got to understand we can’t play good for just one drive. We’ve got to go string together, keep playing, keep playing, don’t look at the scoreboard.”

Meanwhile, Simpson was not on the same page with Freshman All-American receiver Ryan Williams, who left the game late with a concussion. Simpson was just 5-of-11 targeting him, including 0-of-3 on passes thrown more than 5 yards downfield.

Florida State coach Mike Norvell praised his team for being physically dominant — a far cry from where the Seminoles were a year ago, a 2-10 team that could not run the ball. Norvell hired Gus Malzahn, who had his own share of success against Alabama when he was head coach at Auburn, as his offensive coordinator.

The Seminoles rushed for 230 yards, compared with 87 for Alabama.

Afterward, Malzahn said on X: “Felt like old times tonight.”

Perhaps one factor was the Crimson Tide played without starting defensive tackle Tim Keenan III. But even without him, Alabama did not make many plays behind the line of scrimmage, with just one sack and three tackles for loss.

“There’s no excuses about what happened,” DeBoer said. “We step on the football field. They step on the football field, and we got to play ball. We got to play our style of ball. Last year isn’t this year, and it’s going to be an uphill climb for us, but you can’t think of it in the big scope of things. You’ve got to focus on the moment. And the next moment is, ‘What happens tomorrow?’ And we’ll find out. We’ll find out.”

Alabama lost by two touchdowns in a season opener for the first time since 1970 (a 21-point loss against No. 3 USC). Now the Crimson Tide have to find a way to regroup with a tough season ahead, and pressure mounting on DeBoer.

“We’ve talked all along about chemistry on this team and talked about how close we are and how hard we’ve worked doing a lot of the right things,” DeBoer said. “We’ll find out if that sticks.”

Bitcoin Falls but MemeCore Lead Gains

The crypto market pulled back on August 30 with the global market cap dropping to $3.76 trillion, slipping 0.99% in just one day. Daily volumes also weakened, sliding 9.66% to $166.42 billion. 

Bitcoin (BTC), which is the top cryptocurrency by market cap, led the retreat, trading at $108,455 after losing 1.15% in 24 hours. It recorded $70.6 billion in turnover. 

Top Gainers Defy The Weak Market

Despite Bitcoin dropping, some tokens gained during the day. MemeCore (M) was the top performer, soaring nearly 50% to reach $0.70, thanks to $54 million in trades. Conflux (CFX) also saw an uptick, gaining 8.84% to hit $0.19, with $134 million in trading volume.

In addition, Story (IP) climbed 7.46% to $6.49. The meme coin Bonk (BONK) jumped 7.29% to $0.0000219, with $624 million in turnover, making it one of the most actively traded tokens. OKB (OKB) also made its mark, increasing by 6.19% to $175.80 with $300 million in volume.

Losers Lead as Trending Tokens Rally

Several major tokens also lost ground. Pyth Network (PYTH) led the slump, crashing 14.61% to $0.1954. Raydium (RAY) fell by 7.23% to $3.40. Solana (SOL) dropped 5.03% to $198.84, extending its recent weakness. Jupiter declined 3.75% while Jito shed 3.68%. 

The trending coins on the other side had a different outcome. Memecore was again at the top, followed closely by Pi Network (PI), which managed to gain a modest 4.1%, landing at $0.37. Trusta shot up 95.1%, climbing to $0.133, while SKALE (SKL)also jumped 31.78% to trade at $0.0347.

Market Sentiment And Outlook

In terms of the market view, the fear and greed index is now sitting at 39, indicating that investors are more on the fearful side. While the Fear and Greed Index is at 39, Bitcoin has a dominance of 57.5% and Ethereum (ETH) holds a 14% share. 

On the other hand, the Altcoin Season Index is at 58, which further indicates that the market is looking more like a Bitcoin season rather than an altcoin rally.

Open interest showed strength, with perpetuals climbing to $978.74 billion against $3.87 billion in futures. Volatility also stayed high, with Bitcoin at 41.06 and Ethereum at 73.92. Hence, traders face a risky backdrop even as Ethereum gas fees remain steady.

Bitcoin weakness kept the market under pressure, but selective altcoins delivered sharp breakouts.

Crypto Market Turns Red as Bitcoin & Altcoins Falls

The crypto market is in red today as major tokens lost an average of 5% in the last 24 hours. In fact, the overall market valuation is down by 4% to $3.77 trillion despite a 10% surge in the overall trading activity which sits at $192.06 billion in volume over the same period. 

Bitcoin and Altcoins Lost Gains after Hitting New Highs

For instance, Bitcoin is trending downward after it hit a new all time high of $124 on Aug 12. Since then, the token has been dropping with strong momentum and failing to break structure to the upside. 

At the time of writing this report, Bitcoin is trading for $108,840, down 3.69% from yesterday, despite a modest 7.75% rise in trading activity which resulted in $68.72 billion in trading volume. With that, that market capitalization has dropped by 3.77% and now sits at $2.16 trillion.

Cronos CRO saw the largest dip so far with a 10% drop in 24 hours. At the time of writing this report, CRO is trading for $0.28, a major drop from its intraday high of $0.34 which it was trading during the Asia trading hours.

At the same time, trading activity is down by 52.01% from the previous day. This led to a $1.16 billion in trading volume with $13.66 billion in trading volume, according to CoinMarketCap.

PYTH Surge 17% in 24 hours 

Despite the overall drawdown, some altcoin, especially Pyth Network, have managed to gain an incredible 17% in the last 24 hours. The token is currently trading for $0.2192 and leading the top crypto gainers on CoinMarketCap.

This is thanks to a massive 422.85% surge in its trading activity which saw $2.53 billion in volume. The market cap currently sits at $1.26 billion, up 16.68% in 24 hours.

Nvidia Tops Estimates, Stock Falls in After Hours on China Export Headwinds

Nvidia reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results on Wednesday, extending its run as the world’s dominant supplier of AI semiconductors.

Yet shares tumbled in extended trading after the company confirmed that it sold no H20 chips to China during the period, reviving concerns over export restrictions and geopolitical risk.

The disclosure sent Nvidia’s shares down 3.4% to $176 in after-hours trading, as investors weighed the near-term impact of the regulatory backdrop on one of its key markets.



Revenue for the three months ended July 27 rose to $46.7 billion, Nvidia reported, up 6% from the prior quarter and 56% higher than a year earlier. Analysts had expected roughly $46 billion.

Net income surged to $26.4 billion, or $1.08 per diluted share, while adjusted earnings reached $1.05 a share, exceeding a $1.02 consensus.

Data center sales, which accounted for 88% of total revenue, hit $41.1 billion, boosted by a 17% sequential gain in Blackwell chip shipments.

Still, the 5% quarter-over-quarter jump did little to appease investors, adding to pressure on Nvidia’s stock.

CEO Jensen Huang remained upbeat, labelling Blackwell “the AI platform the world has been waiting for,” and pointed to growing adoption across hyperscalers, government partnerships, and sovereign model developers, according to a statement on Wednesday.

But the bullish tone was tempered by Nvidia’s confirmation that it recorded no H20 sales to China during the quarter. 

The company revealed that it had diverted $650 million in H20 chips, initially intended for China, to a non-restricted customer abroad, unlocking a $180 million inventory reserve. 

The H20 was previously designed to comply with U.S. export rules, but updated licensing requirements imposed in April 2025 effectively hindered sales into the Chinese market.

The move followed Washington’s tightening of AI chip controls, which now require export licenses for high-performance semiconductors destined for China in a policy move aimed at curbing Beijing’s access to advanced computing power for military and surveillance use.

While the numbers suggest continued strength in AI infrastructure demand, the muted stock reaction indicates that investors are becoming increasingly sensitive to macroeconomic risks, particularly the uncertain trajectory of U.S.-China trade policy.

Looking ahead, Nvidia expects Q3 revenue of $54 billion with gross margins forecast at 73.5%. 

The board has also approved a $60 billion expansion of Nvidia’s share repurchase program in a bid to return capital to shareholders. A $0.01 dividend is scheduled for October 2.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i: Two-minute review

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i may face some stiff competition from the usual excellent offerings from Apple, Dell, and the like, but it’s more than up to the challenge. In fact, I believe it deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the best Ultrabooks of this generation.

It’s very slim and portable, helped by the fact that the webcam is hidden under the display in a unique and space-saving measure. And its performance is snappy and responsive, comparing well to the best laptops of this type (don’t expect it to match the power of a gaming laptop, of course). Just as important, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is a gorgeous-looking laptop with an equally gorgeous-looking OLED display.

Really, there are only two drawbacks. The first is price. It’s not anywhere near a budget offering, though that’s to be expected of this type of laptop, not to mention that an OLED display always brings a price bump.

The other issue is a little more concerning. The port selection is worse than on an Apple MacBook Air, which is saying something, as that’s already very minimal. More specifically, there’s no audio jack, so hopefully, you have a good pair of Bluetooth earbuds on hand.

However, that’s a pretty short list of things to be concerned about, and one of them (price) is to be expected with a nice Ultrabook. All in all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is a wonderful laptop that will make a solid upgrade for anyone looking for an attractive, portable, and powerful Ultrabook.

The 10th-generation model of the Yoga Slim 9i comes in two configurations, with both available in the US, UK, and Australia. And both configurations are very similar.

The more basic configuration goes for $1,759.99 / £1,800 / AU$3,849 and comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V CPU and 16GB of RAM. The more robust configuration with Intel Core Ultra 7 258V and 32GB of RAM costs a nominally higher price tag of $1,899.99 / £1,900 / AU$4,199. There’s very little difference in performance between the CPUs – it’s just that the 258v supports 32GB of RAM. Essentially, the price difference comes down to whether you want 16 or 32GB of RAM. Everything else is the same, from the color options to the screen and the storage capacity.

The Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (M4) makes for an easy comparison. Not just because they have a similar-sized screen, though the Yoga Slim 9i has better resolution, but because they have similar price points. This 14-incher from Apple starts at $1,599 / £1,599 / AU$2,499, but that gets you a 512GB SSD. If you want the same amount of storage (1TB), the price goes up to $1,799 / £1,999 / AU$3,299, which is a little more than the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i. Of course, you’ll probably gravitate towards one over the other, mostly depending on whether you want macOS or Windows.

The Dell XPS 13 offers an interesting comparison, too. It comes in at a similar price – $1,999.99 / £2,049 / AU$3,998.50 – if you opt for a touchscreen like the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i has, but the screen is smaller. And while the Dell XPS 13 does have an OLED display, it’s at a lower, though still pretty good, 2880 x 1800p resolution. Both laptops have limited ports, but both have plenty of power.

However, the Dell XPS 13 has an interesting design with its edgeless keyboard (meaning it stretches edge to edge) and a touchpad that just uses haptic feedback and doesn’t have a defined physical boundary. This is one of those love-it-or-hate-it design choices and will probably be a deciding factor for most.

Of the two available configurations, there’s very little difference. You basically get to choose between two almost identical CPUs, the Intel Core Ultra 7 256V and the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, which is about 0.5% better.

However, if you select the ever-so-slightly better CPU, you get 32GB of RAM instead of 16GB, since that CPU supports the higher amount of RAM.

Outside of the internal upgrades to CPU and RAM, there are no other upgrades. Both configurations come in one color, Tidal Teal, which is admittedly beautiful.

And there’s just the one display available. Thankfully, it’s also very nice with high-resolution and responsive touchscreen capabilities.

Available in Tidal Teal, a shimmery blue with hints of green, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is a beautiful laptop even before opening it up. It’s slim and light, even for a laptop of this size, and is about as portable as it gets.

In terms of form factor, the one unusual thing I noticed is that there is a raised bar near the top of the lid. This houses the 32-megapixel webcam that’s hidden under the display and pops up near the top-middle of the screen when in use. Though there’s no physical shutter for the webcam, it does have an effective e-privacy toggle next to the right USB-C port.

It’s also worth noting that, despite having a touchscreen, this is not a 2-in-1, so don’t expect to be able to fold it to use as a tablet. That said, the touchscreen is very responsive and very sensitive, enough so that I’ve accidentally closed my browser multiple times when lightly touching the corner of the screen without thinking.

The screen is pretty remarkable beyond its touch capabilities. This 14-inch OLED panel has a 4K or 3840 x 2400 resolution (that’s a 16:10 aspect ratio) with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage, which is ideal for photo editing. It also has a Vesa Certified DisplayHDR True Black 600 rating. It even supports Dolby Vision. You get the idea – the display is pretty spectacular.

As ubiquitous as wireless earbuds are, some of us still use wired headphones from time to time.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is quite powerful. It can handle day-to-day work easily. Opening, scrolling, clicking links, typing, photo editing: all the sorts of things most people want from an Ultrabook. For example, I was able to open 20 browser windows very quickly, just by pressing the Plus sign in Microsoft Edge.

Each window, which opens the MSN homepage filled with different news stories and information, loaded up almost immediately. Of course, I reviewed the 32GB configuration, but the CPU and RAM still do quite a bit of heavy lifting.

Even the camera behind the screen pops up promptly. Speaking of which, the webcam performs smoothly and looks good, though it does struggle with noise in low light.

Now, it’s not a gaming laptop, but I was able to run some less demanding or older games without any trouble, like Sable and Alan Wake. For those games, the action was crisp, clear, and smooth. That gorgeous OLED screen really helps. Still, there were some games I tried to run that wouldn’t even open.

As this is a newer laptop, it comes with Copilot+. Using the app is quick and responsive, though I still don’t find it to be a game-changer in my computing experience.

I’ve rarely been impressed by the audio from a laptop. I was when I reviewed the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i, and I am here. That’s probably because there are more than two speakers in the Lenovo Yoga Slom 9i. Specifically, there are two 2-watt tweeters and two 3-watt woofers. There’s also some virtual spatial audio since the laptop supports Dolby Atmos.

Laptops with OLED displays aren’t always the most efficient, so the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i’s just under 10 hours of battery life in the PCMark 10 Battery benchmark is not surprising, though it is a bit disappointing. It did manage a better showing in our Web Surfing test, where it managed to get just over 11 hours of battery life.

While not the best results we’ve seen, this isn’t terrible battery life. However, we’re seeing a few laptops, particularly ones that this one competes with, hitting up to double those numbers. To be fair, I turned off the laptop’s battery-saver feature, which makes the laptop run more efficiently when the battery is low, so you might manage to squeeze more juice from the battery depending on the settings.

On the bright side, it was very good at maintaining battery life when the lid was closed. I’ve used and tested some laptops where the battery would continue to run down when idling, and that’s not an issue here.
