Elden Ring Nightreign Old Pocketwatch, explained

It’s always a pocketwatch.

Following in the footsteps of Elden Ring, Elden Ring: Nightreign has tons of cryptic items used to unlock different aspects of the experience, including brand-new playable characters. Early on, you’ll receive the Old Pocketwatch, and here is what you can do with it in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Where to find the Old Pocketwatch in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Old Pocketwatch is a guaranteed drop from Gladius, Beast of Night, who you will fight during the Tricephalos Expedition, the first major boss encounter in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

There is a minor chance of receiving the Old Pocketwatch after you die during the Tricephalos Expedition as well, but you must have reached Gladius, Beast of Night, at least once. I don’t think this is an ideal way to get this item, and you’re better off beating Gladius instead

The Old Pocketwatch is a relic that can be equipped by one of your Nightfarers and grants the following bonuses if equipped:

However, it has a more important use than just offering a few bonuses.

What to do with the Old Pocketwatch in Elden Ring Nightreign?

Once you have acquired the Old Pocketwatch, you can either choose to keep it for the minor bonuses or give it to the Priestess at the Roundtable Hold.

This will initiate a cutscene where the Priestess will remove her hood, and you’ll unlock the Duchess, one of the eight playable Nightfarers in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

You still get to keep the relic even after giving it to her, and use it in the green relic slot if you want. Assuming you haven’t already unlocked everyone else, that just leaves the Revenant, who you can unlock early on as well.

So, my recommendation is to give the Old Pocketwatch to the Priestess as soon as you acquire it. There is no point keeping it around and having one of the best characters in the game remain locked.

Elden Ring Nightreign: Every Status Effect, Explained

by admin May 30, 2025

Elden Ring Nighreign is a challenging game that’ll keep you and your friends on your toes during every tense run across its dangerous map. But in addition to punishing enemies and deadly traps, you’ll also need to be aware of status effects, which can do quite a lot to disrupt your progress. Below, we’ll give you a rundown of each status effect and how you can heal it, so that you can prepare for what lies ahead.

The Most Sought After Elden Ring Sword Has A Storied History

All status effects in Elden Ring: Nightreign and how to cure them

There are seven status effects you’ll need to keep an eye out for in Elden Ring Nightreign. But luckily, there are ways to reduce your buildup of the effects or cure them if you’re already affected.

  • Poison: When affected by Poison, your character takes constant moderate damage. Use Neutralizing Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Scarlet Rot: When affected by Scarlet Rot, your character takes constant heavy damage. Use Preserving Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Blood Loss: When affected by Blood Loss (frequently called Bleed), your character receives a chunk of damage proportional to your total HP. Use Stanching Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Frostbite: When affected by Frostbite, your character takes increased damage for a period. Use Thawfrost Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Sleep: When affected by Sleep, your character does exactly as you’d expect and falls asleep, rendering you defenseless for a bit. Use Stimulating Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Madness: When affected by Madness, your character takes significant damage to both HP and FP. Use Clarifying Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.
  • Death Blight: When affected by Death Blight, your character will immediately die. Shit. Use Rejuvenating Boluses to alleviate the buildup of this status effect.

Try not to get caught without the necessary items needed to keep yourself healthy out there. But hey, even if you die, you can always jump right back in for another run, so it’s not that big of a deal.

If you think you can stomach all these status effects, check out Elden Ring Nightreign now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs.

Is Avatar: The Way of Water returning to cinemas? Re-release explained

by admin May 23, 2025

Avatar 3 is due to hit cinemas later this year, and if you’ve been craving Pandora’s return to the big screen, we have good news about Avatar: The Way of Water.

James Cameron is the self-declared king of the world for good reason: he directed three out of the top five highest-grossing movies of all time (Titanic, The Way of Water, and the first Avatar).

And, yet, people continue to doubt Avatar, even though the sequel – released a whopping 13 years after the original film – made over $2 billion, and (at least) three more entries are in the works, including this year’s Avatar: Fire and Ash.

The threequel is expected to release in theaters in December, but there’s still no trailer. Don’t worry, though, because 20th Century Studios has just the thing to put your mind at ease.

Avatar: The Way of Water re-release dates

Avatar: The Way of Water will return to cinemas on Friday, October 3 for a “one-week limited engagement.”

This is expected to be a global rollout, echoing the re-release of Avatar in 2022 (which made over $76 million worldwide, taking the first film’s total haul to $2.9 billion).

Here’s the best bit: it’ll be re-released in IMAX and 3D screens, so you can see it the way it was intended (if you’re unsure, read more about the best way to watch Avatar 2 with our guide). This comes after Michael, a biopic about Michael Jackson, was delayed to 2026, freeing up an IMAX slot.

Fans are delighted, obviously, but they have one question: why isn’t there a teaser trailer for Avatar 3 yet? “At this point, I don’t believe Avatar is out this year unless they drop the trailer,” one user speculated.

To be clear, that seems highly unlikely. 20th Century Studios wouldn’t green-light a re-release of Fire and Ash’s predecessor unless it was on track for its December release date. Looking ahead, Disney’s next major release is Elio on June 20 – there’s a good chance the first teaser for Avatar 3 will be attached to it in cinemas, or perhaps even Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.

“WHERE THE HELL IS THE TRAILER FOR AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH?!?? When Way of Water came out, the trailer dropped in theaters along Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness?? So, WHERE IS IT??” another fan pointed out.

“Shouldn’t we be getting an Avatar 3 teaser trailer in front of Lilo & Stitch or something???” a third asked.

In the meantime, find out why Fire and Ash’s title is a big tease for Avatar 4 and 5, our breakdown of the Avatar 2 cast, and our list of the best sci-fi movies.
