Crypto Exec Says Expect Tickerless US dollar Stablecoins in the Future

by admin September 13, 2025

Dollar-pegged stablecoins will eventually lose their price tickers, as exchanges abstract away the differently denominated stable tokens on the backend, presenting only a “USD” option to the user, according to Mert Mumtaz, CEO of remote procedure call (RPC) node provider Helius.

The bidding war for the Hyperliquid USD stablecoin (USDH), and proposals from several firms promising to give 100% of the yield back to Hyperliquid, revealed that the stablecoin sector has become “commoditized,” Mumtaz said.

Mumtaz added that he expects many companies to issue their own stablecoins and many existing stablecoin issuers to start their own payment chains in the future, which may create liquidity fragmentation, keeping capital trapped within those ecosystems.

The number of US dollar stablecoin issuers continues to grow. Source: RWA.XYZ

He said that the most optimal solution to get ahead of this liquidity problem is for exchanges to simply accept all stablecoins and convert them to the desired denomination on the backend without the user seeing what is going on. Mumtaz wrote:

“The eventual endgame is that you don’t see the ticker at all. The apps will just display ‘USD’ instead of USDC, USDT, or USDX, and they will swap everything in the backend via a standardized interface.”

Stablecoins are likely to emerge as the de facto standard for fiat currencies in the digital age as the global financial system moves onchain and adopts internet-native systems, further eroding the need to denominate stablecoins from different issuers for end users.

Artificial intelligence to increase stablecoin abstraction

Reeve Collins, co-founder of stablecoin firm Tether and blockchain neo-bank WeFi, also told Cointelegraph that he expects the number of stablecoins to proliferate in the coming years, which will be abstracted through AI agents managing portfolios on behalf of users.

Collins said the next generation of stablecoin products, which includes yield-bearing tokens, will be automatically managed through agentic AI, removing “all of the complexity” of dealing with a multitude of different tokens, lowering technical hurdles for the end user.

“The only thing that will drive which token to use is which one makes you the most money, which one is the easiest to use,” Collins added.

Sonic and Shadow coming to Fortnite, leaks suggest, but not how you’d expect

by admin September 12, 2025

It looks like Sonic and Shadow are heading to Fortnite, though perhaps not in the way you’d expect.

Known Fortnite leaker Wenso has shared datamined evidence on social media of Kicks themed around the two Sega hedgehogs based on in-game data, suggesting in-game trainers will be added to the game.

The designs resemble Puma’s forthcoming Sonic the Hedgehog collection, which will be available to purchase from 30th October – perhaps that’s when they’ll be added to Fortnite too, though Wenso noted there are no shop assets yet.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – The AnimationWatch on YouTube

The Fortnite shop already includes Kicks for brands like Nike, Adidas, Vans, and Puma.

Puma’s collection also includes sneakers themed on sidekick Tails, though these are yet to be discovered in the game.

Does this mean we’ll also get full skins to play as? That does seem unlikely, in part due to character proportions but also that Sonic canonically has not wielded a gun – although Shadow, of course, has.

Still, I think Sega is likely to go the way of Nintendo and not want its characters shooting each other. Perhaps we could see more clothing items in addition to those Kicks?

The Fortnite crossover could also coincide with the release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, due out later this month. Indeed, the racing game’s premise is crossovers with other series, so perhaps it works both ways.

Don’t expect that Netflix BioShock movie any time soon – three years on it still doesn’t have a finished script

by admin September 11, 2025

Three years after Netflix announced it was turning Irrational Games’ acclaimed underwater shooter BioShock into a live-action film, its producer has suggested its still some way off, confirming that work continues on its script.

The streaming service first publicly discussed a BioShock movie back in February 2022, when it was accompanied by grandiose talk of developing a whole cinematic universe around the BioShock games. After a lengthy silence, producer Roy Lee last year confirmed plans had changed and that budget cuts at Netflix meant it would now be a “much smaller” film told from a “more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project.”

Another year on, and Lee is chattering again, this time offering an update on the project’s progress in conversation with The Direct. As to why it’s taking so long, he explained in part that’s down to the BioShock movie having been delayed a “little bit” so the team could do “some more script work”. Amid all this, director Francis Lawrence has been busy with the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk, and he’ll remain occupied helming the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. “So it’s just waiting for him whenever the Hunger Games is completed,” Lee added.

Additionally, Lee confirmed the BioShock movie’s script is still “being worked on right now”. But the hope seems to be it’ll be ready by the time Sunrise on the Reaping is done. As to what the movie will focus on, Lee remains cagey, saying, “Netflix wants us to keep everything under wraps”. He did, however, reveal it’ll definitely be based on Irrational’s first BioShock game.

Netflix isn’t the first company to attempt a BioShock movie. Back in 2008, Universal announced its own adaptation with Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski onboard – but it never came to fruition. Explaining the project’s demise in 2013, BioShock creator Ken Levine revealed publisher 2K had given him the option to cancel it after Verbinski’s departure – and so he did.

A fourth BioSchock game, originally announced in 2019, is currently in the works at developer Cloud Chamber, but 2K recently confirmed it was “reducing the size of the development team” as it looks to “rework certain aspects” of the purportedly troubled project.

Don’t Expect New Shiba Inu ATHs: Machine Learning Algorithm Spits Out Max Price

by admin September 11, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Shiba Inu is still trading well below its all-time high of $0.000088 that was recorded back in 2021, and despite the market having seen multiple rallies over the last year, the meme coin has not come close to this peak. According to CoinMarketCap data, the current SHIB price means that it’s still over 85% below its all-time high price, and will need a more than 700% increase if it is to beat it. While many in the community expect the Shiba Inu price to hit new highs soon, a prediction from a machine learning algorithm suggests this may be a pipe dream.

Shiba Inu Price Won’t Reach ATH In 2025

The machine learning algorithm at the CoinCodex website has predictions ranging from the short-term to the long-term for Shiba Inu. While the outlook is bullish, the roadmap to a new all-time high remains very blurry. Unlike many other large-cap altcoins on their way to new highs, the algorithm does not see the SHIB price following this path.

For the short term, the price is expected to see some increase, moving above the $0.000019 level. This one-month prediction carries into the start of the month of October, with the highest point expected to be a little over $0.000016 before retracing downward.

Then, for the 3-month prediction leading into most of the last quarter of the year 2025, expectations are that the price will more than double to clear $0.000033. However, this is not expected to last as the algorithm shows a correction back down toward $0.000016 by the month of December.

Source: CoinCodex

With the 3-month prediction spanning close to the end of the year, it suggests that there is no all-time high happening for Shiba Inu this year. Momentum also remains low as sentiment is still neutral, meaning investors remain indecisive on SHIB.

So, When Can SHIB Hit A New ATH?

Over the longer timeframe and spanning the next few years, the machine learning algorithm shows a bullish outlook, but there is no expectation of the Shiba Inu price hitting a new all-time high. For the year 2026, the highest peak was placed at $0.00003116, which is only a 138% increase from the current level.

The same is the case for the next few years leading up to 2030, and still no all-time high prediction for the meme coin. If the algorithm is correct, then Shiba Inu investors might be waiting a decade for a new all-time high to hit, especially if the market continues in its low momentum.

The 2025 Apple Event Is Tomorrow: What To Expect From iPhone 17

by admin September 9, 2025

Nothing in this world is certain, except for death, taxes and the reveal of a new iPhone every year. Since receiving our invites to attend Apple’s “awe dropping” iPhone 17 event, we’ve been hard at work deciphering what the enigmatic Apple logo heatmap could mean. While that’ll remain a mystery until Tuesday, we have seen a lot of the expected product lineup through leaked photos and rumors from industry analysts.

In addition to the base model, you can expect an iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max and a slim version, nicknamed the iPhone 17 Air, to be revealed during the event. We’re also likely to see an Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and maybe an Apple Watch SE, which was last updated in 2022. The AirPods Pro 3 might also make their debut.

Don’t miss any of our unbiased tech content and lab-based reviews. Add CNET as a preferred Google source on Chrome.

iOS 26 and its minimalistic Liquid Glass feature tie the whole lineup together. The latter was showcased at WWDC 2025 and should be released shortly after the event.

Here are the biggest rumors and leaks about Apple’s new hardware. We’ll continue updating this piece ahead of the iPhone 17 event tomorrow. Whether you plan to watch the stream or just check in with the big announcements, CNET experts are bringing the latest live Apple event coverage to you before the keynote begins.

Here’s what the iPhone 17 could look like, in an array of different colors.

What is the ‘awe dropping’ Apple event on Sept. 9?

If you’re excited about the new iPhone’s debut, you won’t have to wait long. Now that invites have gone out, we can officially confirm that Apple is planning its event for Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

It turns out the leaks and rumors surrounding the event date were accurate. We can expect to see a full slate of product launches at the “awe dropping” Apple event, starting with the iPhone 17. The heatmap Apple logo included in the event invites hints at a new feature, but we don’t know what that could be.

iPhone 17

The standard iPhone is the cornerstone of Apple’s September presentation, and the iPhone 17 should be no different. All in all, this year won’t mark a groundbreaking shakeup for the iPhone. That’s supposedly coming next year, for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. But there are still new features to get excited over in the meantime.

The largest alteration to the design is rumored to be the phone’s camera bump, which will more closely resemble the pill-shaped design of Google’s Pixel. Analyst Jeff Pu also believes that the selfie camera will be 24 megapixels — a solid upgrade from the 12-megapixel front-facing camera present in the iPhone 16 lineup.

There are conflicting rumors about the iPhone 17’s internal specs. Pu said that the new phone will have the same A18 chipset used in the iPhone 16, while leaker Fixed Focus Digital suggested that the phone will be upgraded to the A19 chip. It’s unknown whether the iPhone 17 will get a physical battery upgrade, but the Adaptive Power feature included within iOS 26 should help extend the phone’s battery life nonetheless.

Prominent leaker Majin Bu posted photos of the purported iPhone 17 lineup on X, and if they’re accurate, the device will come in black, blue, silver, purple and green.

Based on the Sept. 9 event date, we can expect preorders for the new Apple hardware to begin on Sept. 12, with a release date of Sept. 19.

The iPhone Plus might be replaced with a sleeker iPhone 17 Air in this year’s product lineup. Here’s a rendering of what that might look like.

Zain bin Awais/CNET

iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 Air could replace the Plus model in the lineup. Its key feature could be an ultra-thin design, like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. It will be interesting to see if the slim design comes with a sacrifice to battery life, like with the S25 Edge. A Bloomberg report states that the Air could be as thin as 5.5mm. Pu notes that the Air will likely have a 6.6-inch display, with a resolution of 1,260×2,740 pixels.

There is a mix of rumors about the Air’s chip, with trusted sources such as Bloomberg reporting that it will have the standard A19 chip. More recently, MacRumors reported on a leaker’s assertion that the phone will contain the A19 Pro chip, but there’s no substantial evidence pointing toward either claim.

According to MacRumors, the Air has a 2,800-mAh battery — though it might be the first Apple phone to use a high-density silicon battery, which could increase actual battery capacity by between 15% to 20%. Note that the Adaptive Power feature shipping with iOS 26 might help with the battery life.

Judging by the numerous leaked photos and renders, it’s also extremely likely that the Air will have only one wide-angle rear camera, like the iPhone 16E. The front camera may also be moved to the left of the Dynamic Island cutout (that camera sensor bar at the top of the phone’s display) to maintain its form.

While the iPhone 17 is expected to stay at the baseline 8GB of memory, the Air could have 12GB of RAM, which is the same memory that the Pro and Pro Max phones are rumored to include.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Whereas the Air is expected to make sacrifices to achieve its design, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are the most premium models in the lineup. Recent photos substantiate rumors that the Pro’s chassis will change from titanium to aluminum, making it lighter than previous models.

The biggest rumored upgrades coming are the cameras. MacRumors reported that the iPhone 17 Pro models will have an 8x optical zoom telephoto lens, up from the 5x one on the 16 Pro. Pu wrote that the Pro phones will feature a 48-megapixel telephoto camera, which is a substantial improvement over the 16 Pro’s 12-megapixel sensor. He similarly reports that the selfie camera will be upgraded to 24 megapixels, up from the 12-megapixel front-facing camera on the 16 Pro.

As reported on by MacRumors, one leaker claimed the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have the biggest battery in any iPhone to date — and the Pro will likely have a similarly sized battery. Bu claimed that both phones will have a vapor chamber cooling system, which could help keep these batteries from overheating on the sunniest summer days.

The Pro phones will come with the A19 Pro chip, but while the iPhone 17 Air could likely have a five-core GPU, the Pro and Pro Max will have a six-core GPU, ensuring better performance across the board.

For folks who care about showing off their new phone, you’ll be happy to know that one supposed leaker on Weibo claimed that one of the color choices for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max is related to the slick iOS 26 Liquid Glass design, while we’ve seen leaked mockups of the Pro in black, silver, dark blue and orange.

It’s time for an upgrade to the Apple Watch and its premium edition. The budget smart watch might also get a new iteration this year.

Vanessa Hand Orellana/CNET

Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE

The Apple Watch Series 11 could get key improvements to its core features, battery life and performance.

We might not see a drastic change in design from the Apple Watch Series 10, but MacRumors reports that the Series 11 could get a more energy-efficient screen with higher resolution and better brightness settings (which could improve battery life). Keeping with the trend of upgrading the processor in each new Apple Watch, we should see an S11 chip present in the Series 11.

Gurman reported in March that Apple has been testing blood pressure tracking for future Apple Watch models, but it’s unclear how far along in development that feature is and whether it’s ready for release with the Series 11.

What is extremely likely to debut at this event, on the other hand, is the Apple Watch Ultra 3, since MacRumors found imagery for the smartwatch buried within the iOS 26 beta. The photos show an Ultra watch with a slightly larger display, clocking in at a 422×514-pixel resolution. The Ultra 3 would likely share an S11 chip with the Series 11. While the Ultra 2 already boasts the longest battery life of any Apple Watch, an S11 chip could see even greater returns on a single charge for the Ultra 3 — it could last three or four days in low-power mode.

The most unique feature that could come to the premium new Apple Watch is satellite connectivity. According to Gurman, Apple has been exploring adding this feature to the next Ultra model — if implemented, it would enable emergency messaging and location sharing in areas without cell service. Google’s new Pixel Watch 4 is the first smartwatch to support satellite connectivity.

There are some hints that we might see a new SE model. For starters, there hasn’t been an SE since 2022, which means Apple could be primed for a release this year. A report from Gurman also stated that a next-gen SE could be in the works. According to Gurman, the next SE design could largely focus on an improved exterior, but it’s also likely that the budget watch could get an upgrade to Apple’s S9 chip.

The WatchOS 26 AI-powered Workout Buddy feature will also be standard for any new Apple Watch introduced at this event, though it will need to be paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone.

It’s been a couple of years since a new AirPods Pro model has been released — but we might just see a new iteration come September.

John Kim/CNET

AirPods Pro 3

It’s been a hot minute since Apple updated the AirPods Pro, according to CNET’s resident headphone reviewer David Carnoy. The second iteration of the premium wireless earbuds was released in 2022, and the company has been radio silent about the AirPods Pro 3 despite releasing new AirPods models every year since 2019.

That’s likely to change very soon, as MacRumors contributor Steve Moser found references to the AirPods Pro 3 in the underlying code for iOS 26’s first beta.

Bloomberg’s Gurman predicts that the product announcement will happen during the iPhone 17 event. He also reported that the new design will likely feature heart-rate monitoring as a key feature, similarly to the Powerbeats Pro 2. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo further reported that the company is looking to add infrared cameras to future AirPods, but this hardware might not be ready until the AirPods Pro 4.

It’s also rumored that the AirPods Pro 3 could have an interactive touchscreen display in the charging case, doubling as a remote control. It’s also possible that the new wireless earbuds will have an H3 chip, an improvement over the AirPods Pro 2’s H2 chip that could improve battery life, enhance sound quality, provide better active noise cancellation and perform better during voice calls.

If you’re tired of light and dark mode, the new “all clear” Liquid Glass mode in iOS 26 might be just what you’re looking for.

Apple/Screenshot by Jeff Carlson/CNET

Announcement, beta and iOS 26 launch

A new generation of Apple hardware calls for new software as well, and iOS 26 is changing far more than the operating system’s naming convention. The iOS 18 successor — which was announced at WWDC — is on its fifth public beta, which fixes a number of bugs from the previous update and brings the software more in line with the most recent developer beta version.

We know what many of the main features of iOS 26 will look like before its full release. The design is largely minimalist, with a heavy emphasis on Liquid Glass, which presents a colorless “all clear” alternative to the light and dark mode interfaces. This unobtrusive design will make dynamic changes to the lock screen, where the time and date will change to fit your photo, and Safari, where unused tabs will gravitate toward the top of the screen.

The Camera, Photos and FaceTime apps are also going back to basics with simplified designs, while the Messages app is getting more colorful. The biggest features for iOS 26 are call screening for unknown numbers, live translation for calls and texts, a dedicated Games app and lyrics translations on the Music app.

For an in-depth breakdown of all of the iOS upgrades Apple has revealed (as well as the updates the company didn’t mention), check out the roundup from CNET’s Jeff Carlson here.

We’ll continue to update this piece as more details for the Sept. 9 “awe dropping” iPhone 17 event are confirmed. Check back for more information about release dates and upcoming Apple hardware as it becomes available.

Dogecoin Enters Accumulation Phase: What To Expect As Price Faces Resistance At $0.22

by admin September 8, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

With the market remaining indecisive, Dogecoin has found its way into another accumulation phase after being rejected by bears once again. This has seen its price stuck just above $0.2, with a failure to mark any successful breakout. However, with accumulation trends, they often tend to form the basis for the next move, which could happen soon. Naturally, there are two ways the price could go from here, so we take a look at the next notable levels.

The Bullish Case For Dogecoin

Crypto analyst Lingrid has explored the possible directions that the Dogecoin price could go in when the accumulation trend does come to an end. The first is the bullish scenario, given that the Dogecoin price has seen the formation of a major structure.

The current structure shows that the Dogecoin price is actually still trading inside of a descending structure. This comes after the rejection from the resistance trendline that pushes the price downwards from $0.24. But this has not completely sent the Dogecoin price into the arms of bears, as there is still some bullish momentum.

Mostly, the price has continued to trade sideways, meaning that both sides have an opportunity to pull Dogecoin in their favor. For the bulls, though, the major level for them now is to maintain the support that has developed at $0.2 over the last few weeks.

As Lingrid explained, holding this support could see a potential rebound from here. If this break of structure is completed, and there is a confirmation above $0.22, then the next major levels would lie at $0.2420-$0.2670. This would make $0.2-$0.21 the ideal buy zones.

Source: TradingView.com

The More Bearish Scenario

As mentioned above, the Dogecoin price is still trading sideways, so the bears have as much of a chance as the bulls to claim control. Since the bulls have to maintain support at $0.2 to keep the momentum going, that makes it the level to break for bears to trigger further downsides.

Since the market is still showing low momentum and overall weakness, then a general decline could pull the Dogecoin price lower. In the case of a break of the support at $0.2, Dogecoin could be subject to a deeper correction. Add in the uncertain macro headlines and the decline in liquidity flow into the market, then it spells doom for the meme coin if bears take over.

How to Watch Apple’s iPhone 17 Announcement, and What to Expect

by admin September 7, 2025

Ah, September. The kiddos head back to school, the geese head south for the winter, and we all head to Cupertino to see the new iPhones.

Apple’s latest product launch event is happening on September 9. The livestreamed announcement starts on Tuesday at 10 am Pacific, 1 pm Eastern, and 6 pm British Summer Time. You can watch the livestream right here on this page, on Apple’s website, or on Apple’s YouTube channel. If you’re already deep in the Appleverse, you can also watch in the Apple TV app on any screen where it runs.

For weeks, little nuggets of information about Apple’s forthcoming device lineup have been regularly extracted from the various online rumor mines. Based on those whispers and Apple’s typical release schedule (which rarely varies) we can expect an event filled with announcements. We’ll likely see a full line of iPhones 17, including the base model, the Pro models, and a brand-new ultra-thin version called the iPhone Air. We are also expecting new Apple Watches and new AirPods. All of these devices will surely have some sort of AI-enabled capabilities. There might even be some Apple TV news.

Just know that Apple always stays tight-lipped in the lead-up to its launch events, so the information we’re providing here is speculative. Also, the company likes to drop a surprise or two during its presentation, so keep an eye out for WIRED’s roundup of everything Apple announces once the event ends.

In the meantime, here’s what to look out for.

Air Born

The biggest news of the event might just be about one of the lightest gadgets in the lineup. We’re expecting a new addition to the iPhone lineup called the iPhone 17 Air.

This phone is expected to be noticeably thinner and lighter than other iPhones. The Air is rumored to have a 6.6-inch OLED screen and come in at a svelte 5.5 mm thick. (That’s 2.3 mm thinner than the iPhone 16.)

Given the phone’s slim size, the Air might come with some design tweaks and sacrifices to its internal powers to keep its lithe form. Rumors have indicated that the USB-C port won’t be centered along the bottom of the phone.

Chargers expect RB Najee Harris to start vs. Chiefs

by admin September 3, 2025

SAO PAULO — Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris, who missed all of training camp because of an eye injury sustained in a fireworks mishap, is expected to start in Friday’s season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday.

Harris was listed as having fully participated in practice.

“He says he’s ready, and he looks ready to go,” Harbaugh said. “Really hard to predict play counts. He’s going to play football and have at it. That’s the mindset.”

Harris was on the field with his teammates Wednesday for a light on-field work session just hours after the team arrived in São Paulo. In front of hundreds of reporters, Harris once again wore a helmet with a tinted visor, which he has done whenever he has practiced in front of the public this summer.

Harris said Monday that he didn’t care what people think he might be doing based on the perception that he could be wearing shades to hide what he calls a “superficial” injury. He has participated in just six practices with the Chargers.

“I’m ramping up to it, just trying to get back in that football shape,” Harris said Monday. “But I am feeling good, though, and we’ll just see where it leads.”

When can we expect the iPhone 17 to be released? Here are my expert predictions

by admin September 3, 2025

We now know – or at least are almost certain – that the iPhone 17 series will be announced on September 9. That includes the iPhone 17 itself along with the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and probably a totally new model that could be called the iPhone 17 Air.

Why the near-certainty of this date? Well Apple has sent out invites for an event on September 9, starting at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, which is 3am September 10 AEST for those in Australia.

And while the company hasn’t mentioned any iPhone 17 models by name – or even mentioned any phones – based on past form this timing is exactly when I would expect new iPhones to land, so it’s incredibly unlikely that they won’t be present.

You may like

But September 9 is just the date when Apple will probably announce these phones – not when they’ll actually be released. So for information on the likely release date, read on.

Expect pre-orders to open on September 12

While I can be confident of the September 9 announcement date, Apple hasn’t provided any clues as to when the iPhone 17 will go up for pre-order. But I still have a very good idea, as all it takes is looking at Apple’s previous patterns.

You see, the company usually opens pre-orders on the Friday of the week the phones were announced, so with the iPhone 17 series expected on Tuesday, September 9, we fully expect pre-orders to open on Friday, September 12.

There’s an outside chance this won’t be the case, but the company rarely breaks from this pattern, so I’d be surprised if September 12 wasn’t the pre-order date.

Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.

Likely available from September 19

The iPhone 16 Pro (Image credit: Future / Lance Ulanoff)

The iPhone 17 release date is probably what you’re really here for and that’s the date I’m least sure of, but as with the pre-order date we can take a very good guess based on past form.

Specifically, the iPhone 17 series will probably start shipping one week after pre-orders open, which in all likelihood means Friday, September 19. That fits Apple’s typical patterns and is also a date that has been leaked.

That means September 19 is probably the day your iPhone 17 will arrive on your doorstep if you pre-ordered it, and that it’s also likely the day you’ll be able to walk out of a shop with an iPhone 17 or one of its siblings.

That said, even assuming that is the release date, it’s worth noting that these phones may well sell out, so if you don’t put in a pre-order on September 12 then you could be waiting longer.

Here’s what to expect from Borderlands 4’s post-launch content

by admin September 2, 2025

We’re in the month of Borderlands 4. Releasing on September 12th, there will be a ton of content to enjoy. That said, you can always expect plenty of DLC and expansion from the team at Gearbox. Below is the info we heard at PAX West, check it out as you prep for the wasteland.

During the Gearbox Main Theater Show at PAX West, 2K and Gearbox Software shared a detailed look at the endgame and post-launch content coming in Borderlands® 4, the next entry in the iconic looter-shooter franchise. Borderlands 4 will launch on September 12, 2025 on PlayStation®5 (PS5®), Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be coming to Nintendo Switch™ 2 on October 3, 2025.

Endgame

Borderlands 4 does not end when the story concludes, as players can look forward to a comprehensive endgame experience focused on obtaining the best loot possible on Kairos. Players will experience progression through weekly challenge missions, unlockable Specializations to further customize their loadout, and the return of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

  • Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode has been reimagined for its return. This post-game difficulty option will challenge players through five unlockable levels that increase in difficulty. Additionally, applying lessons learned from past franchise entries, this mode no longer requires players to replay the campaign to gain new ranks. Instead, players will move up ranks through curated mission challenges that put their chosen build to the test, growing more difficult through progression and removing the need to re-farm the same gear.
  • Each rank of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode includes exclusive Firmware, which are set bonuses for gear that players will first experience throughout the campaign. The more firmware a player acquires results in a higher stat bonus. These powerful Firmware bonuses can be transferred once to another item, at which time the original item is destroyed and the Firmware bonus cannot be re-transferred.
  • Multiple incentives will be provided to allow players to continue their search for the best loot: Weekly Wildcards offer rotating missions with a guaranteed Legendary reward. In the Weekly Big Encore Boss, Moxxi’s Big Encore selects one boss for the week that can be unlocked with Eridium for a larger iteration with increased drop rates. Maurice’s Black Market Machine sends players across Kairos in search of its spoils, with varied loot for every player’s game. Each of these activities is available for online matchmaking by intent, encouraging players to group up with friends, or find new ones whose interests align.*

Post-Launch Roadmap

Players can look forward to a robust roadmap of free content and paid DLC rolling out following the launch of Borderlands 4 so they can continue their adventures on Kairos. The paid DLC includes two types of major offerings: Story Pack** and Bounty Pack.***

  • The first of two announced Story Packs features the return of the indomitable fan-favorite Ellie in Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. Featuring a cosmic horror theme with a bloodier, darker tone, this Story Pack includes an all-new region of Kairos to explore, multiple engaging main and side missions, all new legendary gear, and the introduction of the first post-launch playable Vault Hunter. In addition, this pack brings 4 new Vault Hunter Skins, 2 new Vehicle Skins, 3 ECHO-4 Drone Skins as well as attachments, and 1 ECHO-4 Frame.
  • With the launch of the first Bounty Pack, players will experience narrative-based missions that expand the Borderlands universe. These missions will reveal more about the new characters players encounter on Kairos, starting with Rush, the gregarious leader of the Outbounders. Each Bounty Pack includes new Main Missions, a new boss, new Legendary Gear, 1 Player Skin, 1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin, 1 new Vehicle, and a Vault Card, allowing players to unlock 24 Cosmetics and 4 pieces of rerollable Gear.

Additionally, available as free content to all players, Seasonal Mini-Events kicking off in October with Horrors of Kairos offer new Legendary Weapons, new Cosmetics, and a new Weather Variant. Also available during post-launch at no extra cost to all players, Invincible Bosses return to test players’ skill and build inside of high-level new boss arenas that integrate the new traversal mechanics. Powerful new Legendaries serve as tantalizing rewards for players that are able to defeat Invincible Bosses. Additionally, a new Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode level will release alongside each Invincible Boss.

Be sure to check out the full Gearbox Main Theater Show at PAX West for additional detail on post-launch and endgame Borderlands 4 content, along with insights from the development team.

Borderlands 4 is just around the corner, launching on September 12, 2025 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S and October 3, 2025 on Nintendo Switch 2. That means there is still time to pre-order the game on consoles or pre-purchase on Steam and Epic to get the Gilded Glory Pack*—and we just sweetened the deal with an injection of extra loot, including four pieces of Legendary Gear and an additional Vault Hunter Head cosmetic! Check out the full details here.

Borderlands 4 is rated M for Mature by the ESRB. For the latest information on Borderlands 4 and to pre-order the game, visit www.borderlands.com, and follow the game across YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok.
