How to watch Made by Google Pixel 10 launch event live today

by admin August 20, 2025

Yes, September is all about iPhone, but Google is taking center stage today with its hotly anticipated Pixel hardware event. Thanks to a parade of leaks, we think we know mostly what to expect today — Pixel 10 phones, along with new watches and earbuds — but we’ll know for sure later today. That’s because the event kicks off at 1PM ET.

If you want to be the first to hear the official scoop, you can tune into the Made by Google YouTube channel (or right here!) to catch Google’s event, which will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon and also include other celebrities like Stephen Curry, Lando Norris and the Jonas Brothers — get ready for some potentially awkward cue card readings! And open a second window to follow our Pixel event liveblog for real-time analysis.

What’s on tap? You can expect a more power-efficient Tensor G5 processor in all the new Pixel 10 phones. (That could help power new Gemini AI features, too.) The base-level Pixel 10 should get a big camera upgrade: a 5x telephoto lens. Before this generation, you had to splurge on a Pro or Fold model to get optical zoom. Cameras will be higher-res across the board, too.

In other areas, Qi2 magnetic charging is expected to come to the new Pixels. Expect a new accessory ecosystem, a la Apple’s MagSafe, dubbed “Pixelsnap.” We’ll also likely see the Pixel Watch 4 with a larger battery and smaller bezels. And the Pixel Buds 2a could bring refinements to the company’s budget earbuds.

Engadget’s Pixel 10 leak roundup will give you a much more detailed dive into the rumors. You can head back here on August 20 at 1PM ET to watch live.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: where to watch and my latest predictions in the build-up to tonight’s event

This is a bit of a weird one, but I have received confirmation that there will be at least one automobile present in the halls at Gamescom 2025.

It’s a special version of the Aston Martin Vantage coupe, with custom artwork based on the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction from Zenless Zone Zero.

It will be showed off at the game’s booth in Hall 6, booth C-031, where visitors will be able to bask in all of its glory. Those going to the booth will also be able to complete check-in missions, and win prizes including a special 1:18 scale model of the Aston Martin car.

You can find full details on the competition via the X / Twitter post below.

You’ll also have a chance to win a limited edition 1:18 scale model car of the 2024 Aston Martin Vantage!#zzzero… pic.twitter.com/6JsKf8qBh7August 18, 2025

Last year Hoyoverse had a huge booth in the public area, and I expect Gamescom 2025 to be no different.

The brand’s presence at the trade show also suggests that there will be some interesting announcements during the Opening Night Live show, potentially new seasonal content for games Zenless Zone Zero or Genshin Impact.

Our agents on the ground have arrived

I might be stuck behind a computer screen this year, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have some agents on the ground right now.

My colleagues Rhys and Rob reached Cologne, Germany, this morning and are currently scouting things out and attending a few early appointments ahead of Opening Night Live.

They tell me it’s quite quiet over there at the moment, as I’m sure you can imagine, but I’m expecting all of that to change as the show nears.

Expect a Lords of the Fallen 2 reveal

It looks like Lords of the Fallen 2 will be revealed later tonight, following a fairly transparent teaser posted by the official Lords of the Fallen X / Twitter account.

The image, which shows part of a character in gothic armor, features the word “tonight” with the letter “i” replaced by the Roman numeral for two.

I was a fan of the latest Lords of the Fallen game, which released back in 2023. In fact, I did a expansive cover feature with a multiple-page preview of the title back when I worked on the UK’s PlayStation Magazine, so it’s a series that’s pretty close to my heart

Despite the name, Lords of the Fallen 2 would actually be the third Lords of the Fallen game. That’s because of 2014’s Lords of the Fallen, which is not to be confused with its 2023 successor.

Whether you have created your own bingo card, have a list of wild hopes and dreams, or just want to offer some comments on the whole Opening Night Show, I’ll be sharing the very best contributions here on this page throughout the evening.

Just remember to keep it PG, or I’ll get in big trouble with my boss and we don’t want that, do we?

We’re in for a live music performance

Geoff Keighley has confirmed that we will be in some music tonight.

It will be the first ever live performance of music from the popular RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from composers Alice Duport-Percier and Lorien Testard.

Exactly which songs will be performed is currently up in the air, but lovers of the game definitely won’t want to miss this…

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong news on the cards?

Hollow Knight: Silksong is easily one of the most anticipated games right now. A sequel to the 2017 indie hit, fans have been waiting for more news about this upcoming instalment for more than six years.

Could we hear more about it tonight? It’s definitely likely, as presenter Geoff Keighley has been teasing something Silksong related.

Yesterday, he posted a photo of himself wearing a clown nose to his X / Twitter account, captioned “First time? See you tomorrow for Gamescom ONL.” It might not seem like much, but it’s a reference popular meme featuring the protagonist of Hollow Knight wearing a similar clown costume.

First time? 🤡 See you tomorrow for @gamescom ONL. pic.twitter.com/59ef5sFysJAugust 18, 2025

He actually posted the original meme last year, alongside clarification that there would be “no Silksong“, so this seems like an intentional call-back.

Hopefully we’re in for some kind of exciting update regarding the game tonight.

ICYMI: the latest Nintendo Direct is underway

Kirby Air Riders Direct – 19/08/2025 – YouTube

Watch On

It’s not technically part of Gamescom, but the timing of this latest Nintendo Direct is definitely deliberate and likely an attempt by Nintendo to squeeze in their own short presentation before attention shifts to the big Opening Night Live show.

The Direct is focused on the upcoming racing game Kirby Air Riders, and is our first real look at the title since its announcement back the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this year.

The broadcast is currently live right now, so you can tune in if you’re interested in learning all about it.

Good afternoon gamers!

This is the very start of my Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 coverage. If you’re just tuning in, then don’t worry – you haven’t missed anything yet!

With the show set to take this evening, I’ll be walking you through the build up, sharing the latest news as it happens, and a few of my own personal predictions then bringing you a steady stream of announcements once the broadcast begins.

I’m sad the Battlefield 6 beta is over, but this 2042 event keeps the party going even if the cool kids have already gone home

by admin August 18, 2025

Battlefield 6 has run its last open beta. This, obviously, is a tragedy. How else am I meant to spend my weekends? Where else can I drive around with four loads of C4 strapped to the boot, or engage in high-flying aerial duels? Well, there’s always Battlefield 2042.

But why go back? Well, it seems as though EA understands a widespread longing may have been on the cards with Battlefield 6’s absence, and has therefore introduced a limited-time event to the older title to keep folks engaged for the next few months. A celebration of sorts for 2042 before everyone leaps off towards greener pastures.

This new Battlefield 2042 update – which is straight up titled the “Road to Battlefield 6” update – includes a free battle pass full of little goodies, a revamp of the Iwo Jima map, and some prizes for those looking to jump into Battlefield 6 come October. Some of those battle pass rewards I mentioned earlier carry over, making 2042 a must-play for early-onset completionists.

Check out the Road to Battlefield update hereWatch on YouTube

It’s a clever ploy, offering permanent rewards for the new game. EA did it too for the Battlefield 6 beta, offering various cosmetics for hitting career levels or finishing challenges. It’s not like the Beta needed any help, but it surely would have brought folks back for the second beta even if they likely were fulfilled on the first beta alone. Battlefield 2042 offering such rewards will inevitably push those who never played the game – or maybe touched it only briefly – back into the fray.

Is this taking advantage of people’s FOMO? The voice in their heads that demands they need everything? Yeah absolutely, and as a former WoW mount collector that can be a real burden, but it’ll also inject a lot of life into Battlefield 2042 in its sunset period. For people who have stuck with Battlefield 2042 through thick and thin it’ll be like one last hurrah, and for Battlefield 6 refugees it’ll be a cool way of passing the time.

It does also help that Battlefield 2042 is a lot better now than it used to be. After years of updates, tweaks and changes, it’s really come into its own as of late. While a sizable number of players who’ll jump into Battlefield 2042 for its Road to Battlefield 6 event will be fair weather friends, there for a good time and not a long time, it may very well do wonders in remedying popular sentiment around the game that lingers from its troubled launch.

There have been some pretty cool crossovers in 2042, you’ve got to admit. | Image credit: EA

So yeah I’ll hop back into Battlefield 2042 – I too haven’t really touched it since its release. I’ll try out the new KFS2000, I’ll squad up with some friends, and hey, maybe I will crash some helicopters into people. The Battlefield 6 rewards are nice and I’ll take great joy in showing them off come October.

But honestly? I just think it’s a nice curtain call for a game that’ll inevitably be left largely behind when Battlefield 6 comes along. I do hope that for many people, it’ll leave a fond final memory of 2042 before the game is memory holed and thrown down the same well Hardline lives in.

Google releases more teasers for the Pixel 10 event, and photo AI features heavily

by admin August 17, 2025

  • Google has posted more Pixel event teasers
  • Phones, watches, and earbuds are expected
  • Several celebrities will be in attendance too

Google is going to be launching the Pixel 10 phones, the Pixel Watch 4, and the Pixel Buds 2a this coming Wednesday, August 20, and several new and official teaser clips have made their way online promoting the event.

One of the teasers that’s appeared on the Made by Google feed on X is promoting AI photo technology: adding people into images after they’ve been taken, and going beyond the normal zoom levels to get even closer to a subject.

While these AI-powered editing tools are already available on the current Google Pixel 9 handsets, the suggestion is that we’ll get more features along the same lines when the four expected Pixel 10 devices are unveiled.

Another teaser focuses on the fact that the launch event is being held in New York, with special guests Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry, Lando Norris, and the Jonas brothers said to be in attendance, amongst others – so there’ll be plenty of celebrities on show.

Lots of new devices

The other teasers posted in the last few days show off the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and comment on a lack of innovation in the phone industry – possibly having a dig at Apple, which has yet to join Samsung and Google in launching a foldable.

In terms of aesthetics and content, these teaser clips match up with other previews we’ve already seen from Google. It looks like the gray/silver color that’s apparently going to be called Moonstone will be featuring prominently.

One of the clips also shows a Pixel Watch and a pair of Pixel Buds, confirming that we can expect these devices to show up alongside four phones: the Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.

The rumors that have appeared online have covered everything from the Pixel 10 going eSIM-only, to it adding an upgraded telephoto camera, and in just a few days we’ll know for sure what Google has been busy working on.

Smash pro Mang0 banned on Twitch after drunken antics at Ludwig Mario Kart event

by admin June 25, 2025

Super Smash Bros Melee pro Joseph ‘Mang0’ Marquez has been hit with a ban from Twitch after drunkenly harassing female streamers at Ludwig’s Mario Kart event.

The punishments keep coming for Mang0 after being dropped from C9, banned from one of the year’s biggest Melee tournaments in Super Nova, and barred from future Ludwig events.

On June 21, Mang0 harassed multiple streamers, including ExtraEmily, at Ludwig’s Switch 2 Mario Kart World Cup event. The event, Beerio Kart, required competitors to finish their drinks before the end of a race or be disqualified.

Despite a few days passing since the event, on June 25, Marquez was hit with a ban on the Amazon-owned platform.

Mang0 banned on Twitch after being dropped by Cloud 9 and huge Melee event

As of June 25, Mang0’s Twitch account has been made inaccessible.

“This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service,” the page reads.

It’s not clear how long the Smash God will be banned for or what community guidelines he violated. In addition to prohibiting sexual harassment, Twitch also states that they “do not make exceptions for self-destructive behavior performed as a stunt or gag made in jest, or meant to entertain.”

This isn’t the first time drinking has gotten Marquez banned on Twitch either. In 2021, he was briefly suspended after appearing to pass out drunk on stream.

His latest Twitch ban comes after C9, Marquez’s sponsor, dropped him following the controversy. Following this, Super Nova, formerly Super Smash Con, announced he wouldn’t be allowed to compete at the tournament. Mang0 is the reigning champion in both singles and doubles at the supermajor.

“The safety and respect of our attendees is of utmost importance to us. This decision was made in alignment with our event’s conduct expectations, as well as the standards of our partners,” they said.

Meanwhile, Mang0 has promised to deal with his drinking problem and claims he’s begun looking into rehab options.

“After reflecting on the worst moments of my life, I see a pattern: alcohol has always been involved. I understand that my words mean nothing right now, and alcohol excuses 0 percent of my actions, but I promise I’m gonna beat this and show you that I can be a greater man without the influence of alcohol,” he commented on X.

“My next step is to focus on real recovery. I’ve already started researching rehab and will be checking into one when I find the right fit.”

Mang0 also says he supports any further bans that come his way, adding that he’s “always wanted what is best for Melee.”

Samsung’s New Galaxy Foldables Will Be Announced at July 9 Unpacked Event

by admin June 24, 2025

Samsung is gearing up to debut its next slate of foldable Galaxy Z phones, which likely includes follow-ups to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The company will host an Unpacked event in July, where it’ll show off its latest devices and Galaxy AI updates.

The event will take place in Brooklyn, New York, and will be live streamed on the Samsung Newsroom, at Samsung.com and on Samsung’s YouTube channel. Unpacked kicks off on Wednesday, July 9, at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET.

Samsung has been teasing its upcoming foldables for the last several weeks. In early June, a Samsung Newsroom post pointed to the company bringing “an Ultra-experience” to “a smaller and more portable form factor.” That apparently includes a “powerful camera” and “AI-powered tools.”

The following week, the company said in another blog post that its “newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet.” It appears to be following in the footsteps of the slim and lightweight Galaxy S25 Edge, which was released in May.

Samsung seems to be especially focused on scaling the capabilities of its foldables’ cameras with the help of AI. It noted in a subsequent blog post, “The camera will only get smarter — helping users capture life’s moments more vividly and make everyday experiences more seamless, personal and impactful.”

Samsung

An animated invite for July’s Unpacked event begins by showing the slim side profile of a device that then splits into two phones. One of these phones folds like a book, and on-screen text at the end reads “Ultra Unfolds.”

It’s possible Samsung could unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7 and then the Z Fold Ultra. There are also murmurs of a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE phone. Leaker Evan Blass shared renders of the rumored device, which appears similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but the phone could swap out the Snapdragon chip for an Exynos processor. Meanwhile, renders of the flagship foldable Galaxy Z Flip 7 suggest Samsung could nix the physical camera notch and opt for an edge-to-edge cover display. But we’ll have to wait and see what the company has in store.

There have also been rumors about the Galaxy Watch 8 making its debut at Unpacked, though Samsung hasn’t yet been teasing its wearables like it has its foldable phones.

If you’re eager to get the upcoming Galaxy device, you can reserve it now and earn a $50 Samsung Credit at Samsung.com.

Samsung Teases ‘Ultra’ Foldable for Unpacked Event Next Month

by admin June 24, 2025

Is it already time for another Samsung Unpacked event? You bet your ass it is. Samsung has announced it’ll be hosting an event next month on July 9 for what’ll presumably be its latest Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold foldable Android phones.

Unlike previous years, when Samsung announced new foldable phones in Paris and Seoul, this go-around will be in Brooklyn, New York (my hometown!) starting at 10:00 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT. Gizmodo will be at the event live, but there will also be a live stream on Samsung’s YouTube channel and Samsung’s website.

© Samsung

Samsung’s not sharing any details today, except for the teaser image above and video below, and this one-liner it emailed us: “With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions – transforming how we communicate, create, and connect.” It’s not much to go on, but it hints at more agentic AI applications that take actions on your behalf—you know, the stuff that Apple promised with its contextually aware, AI-powered Siri that it failed to deliver and reportedly won’t ship until next year.

Samsung’s doing another Unpacked event on July 9. Expect foldables. New Z Flip and Z Foldable. The teaser says “Ultra Unfolds.”

If this video is any hint, the phones are gonna be thiiinnnnn pic.twitter.com/FhkfyLGEqD

Ultra Versions of the Z Flip and Z Fold?

Just because Samsung isn’t spoiling its new foldables early doesn’t mean we don’t already know stuff about them. This being the internet, many of the important details have already leaked.

At the end of the teaser video, the words “ultra unfolds” flash. This is most likely a nod to the “Ultra” branding that already exists for Samsung’s main Galaxy S-series phones, with the name suggesting the best of everything the company can throw at it. The best foldable screen(s), the best hinge, the best cameras, the best performance, the best battery life—hopefully it lives up to the Ultra name. Samsung also not-so-subtly teased as much with a post on its U.S. newsroom page earlier this month.

For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor.

…

With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.

And when it unfolds, it transforms– into a more immersive entertainment hub, a spacious workspace, or a multitasking powerhouse, now enhanced by powerful Galaxy AI features designed specifically for the foldable fo

Samsung’s either skipping what would be the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 for the Galaxy Z Flip Ultra and Z Fold Ultra, respectively, or an even more premium-tier Galaxy Z Ultra foldable will be announced alongside the annual refreshes.

Leaked images suggest Samsung’s foldables will be thinner than the current Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Samsung’s own teaser video also shows two seemingly super-slim halves coming apart. For the new Z Flip, the cover screen could expand edge to edge, similar to the ones on Motorola’s new Razr flip-style foldables. More pixels are always appreciated on the cover screen, and it means apps should be able to run without needing to open the Z Flip. As for the new Z Fold, leaked CAD files show the book-style foldable could be as thin as 9mm when closed and 4.54mm when unfolded. That would be seriously skinny and make the Z Fold as thick as regular non-folding phones when closed.

Either way, we’ll know more in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

Mang0 booted from Cloud9 after inappropriate behavior at Ludwig’s event

by admin June 24, 2025

Joseph ‘Mang0’ Marquez has been dropped from esports organization Cloud9 as a direct result of his inappropriate behavior at Ludwig’s recent Super Beerio Kart event that was streamed for all to see.

Ludwig hosted his latest alcohol-infused Mario Kart competition on June 21. After being eliminated early, the actions of professional Smash Bros. player Mang0 came into question.

Making other popular streamers like Maya visibly uncomfortable as a result of his drunken behavior, Mang0 was quickly banned from all future events hosted by Ludwig. Notably, this is far from the first time Mang0 has been in trouble for his drinking.

After the fact, the renowned Smash pro assured he would apologize privately to anyone he made uncomfortable, and that he would “accept any consequences that come [his] way.”

Now, the consequences are piling up. Cloud9 has decided to release Mang0, effective immediately.

Cloud9 drops Mang0 after over a decade with org

“Following an internal evaluation, we have made the decision to release mang0 from Cloud9,” a statement from the organization read on June 23.

“Regardless of tenure or accomplishments, the behavior demonstrated is entirely unacceptable and directly conflicts with our organization’s core values.”

“We wish mang0 the best in his future endeavors.”

Mang0 had been a core part of Cloud9 since 2014. Throughout his time under the blue brand, he’s long-been ranked among the world’s very best Melee players, winning dozens of events and occurring roughly $300,000 in prize pool winnings alone.

Moments after Cloud9’s statement was shared across social media, Mang0 addressed the situation.

“C9 dropping me,” he confirmed on X (previously Twitter). “Probably getting banned from tourneys. No one to blame but myself. Never thought I could hit this low.”

“Probably won’t hear from me for a while. Sorry everyone. Wish I was better. I had it all and tossed it in the trashcan.”

The next Samsung Unpacked event takes place on July 9

by admin June 24, 2025

It’s almost time for another one of Samsung’s Unpacked events. The third Unpacked to be held this year (following installments in January and May) will take place on July 9 at 10AM ET. It will emanate from Brooklyn, New York and stream on the Samsung Newsroom, the company’s website and its YouTube channel.

Samsung is promising a look at the “next evolution of Galaxy AI and the ever-expanding Galaxy ecosystem.” The company usually debuts its latest foldables in the summer, so we are expecting to see the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 here. As if there was any doubt that this Unpacked will focus on foldables, an image Samsung sent out along with event invitations (embedded below) makes that clear. It’s looking like the rumored Galaxy Z Fold Ultra is in store too, as a teaser video includes the phrase “Ultra Unfolds.” Way to be subtle, Samsung.

Samsung

A new Galaxy Watch also seems likely to make an appearance, while rumors have been flying around that this Unpacked may feature a Galaxy S25 FE, which is slated to arrive later this year. We may even get a glimpse of a Samsung tri-fold phone. Meanwhile, the Android XR headset that Samsung has been working on with Google is slated to arrive this year — this Unpacked seems like a good opportunity for the company to spill the beans on that.

If you’re already pretty sure that you’re going to switch to a new Samsung device, you don’t necessarily have to wait until July 9 to make a reservation for one of the upcoming models. In fact, if you make a reservation starting tonight on Samsung’s website, you can receive a $50 credit.

If you buy something through a link in this article, we may earn commission.
