Epic pulls controversial Peacemaker dance emote from Fortnite following big twist in the TV show’s latest episode

by admin September 29, 2025

Epic has pulled a Peacemaker dance emote from battle royale Fortnite, after the latest episode of the TV show proves just how controversial that dance is.

Spoiler warning for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6

The Peaceful Hips emote was added to Fortnite earlier this month, which features John Cena’s character hip-thrusting and holding his arms in rigid 90 degree angles.

Now, though, it’s been removed, with refunds likely to be issued in the next few days. “We’re disabling the Peaceful Hips Emote in Fortnite as we inquire into our partner’s creative intentions in this collab emote,” reads a social post from Fortnite. “Assuming it’s not coming back, we’ll issue refunds in the next few days. Sorry folks.”

Why so controversial? Well it turns out, as revealed in the latest episode, Peacemaker has been living in an alternate dimension where Nazis won World War 2 and the American flag’s stars have been swapped for swastika.

And looking at the dance emote in retrospect, yeah, it’s pretty obviously imitating swastika.

What’s most remarkable about this is that Warner Bros. agreed on the collaboration with Epic, but seemingly didn’t forewarn them of the emote’s true meaning. Perhaps they were worried about spoilers leaking ahead of the episode airing last week.

Peacemaker writer and director James Gunn posted earlier this month about Peacemaker’s inclusion in Fortnite, adding “check out his bundle, complete with Peacemaker’s best friend Eagly and a peace-spreading, hip-swaying emote or two ;)” – that winky face is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Nobody wants nazi symbolism in their kid-friendly battle royale, but it’s not just the TV show’s viewers who have been duped by a big twist.

Could this impact any future collaborations between Epic and Warner Bros.? Eurogamer has contacted Epic to find out.

Leaks have suggested Sonic and Shadow will be headed to Fortnite in some form soon, though hopefully will prove less controversial.

Coinbase Seeks Sanctions Over SEC’s Missing Texts Episode

by admin September 13, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Coinbase has slammed the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a “destroy-and-delay approach” to records, accusing the agency of erasing crucial text messages related to pending crypto litigations

Coinbase Accuses SEC Of ‘Destroying’ Records

On Thursday, crypto exchange Coinbase, through historical research firm History Associates, asked the federal court to “bring the SEC’s secretive policy shifts on crypto to sunlight” with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) case.

Coinbase’s CLO, Paul Grewal, explained that the company asked the US District Court for the District of Columbia to address the “gross violation of public trust” that the regulatory agency was recently part of “to ensure it never happens again.”

“The Gensler SEC destroyed documents they were required to preserve and produce. We now have proof from the SEC’s own Inspector General,” Grewal wrote on X, affirming that the regulatory agency “destroyed” key text message records, even though Coinbase had asked for “information about ‘all communications’ within the SEC related to crypto regulatory and enforcement decision-making years ago.”

As reported by Bitcoinist, the Commission was recently under fire after an Office of Inspector General (OIG) report detailed a series of “avoidable” mistakes from the watchdog’s IT department that resulted in the loss of records linked to crypto enforcement actions during Gary Gensler’s tenure, resulting in the loss of the former SEC Chairman’s text messages between 2022 and 2023.

According to the court filing, the SEC “revealed to the world just days ago that the agency has forever stymied public investigation of these issues by flouting FOIA’s mandates and destroying key documents.”

Coinbase’s court case highlighted that the recent report detailed how the Commission has “excluded” SEC officials’ text messages when processing FOIA requests, even if many constituted agency records subject to the request. Additionally, it revealed that the lost Gensler text messages “were destroyed (…) after these FOIA requests were filed, but long before the litigation began.”

The document also alleged that the same has happened to more than 20 other high-ranking SEC officials’ texts, and dozens more have been or could be at imminent risk. “Although the SEC has known of these glaring and urgent problems for two years, none of this was disclosed to this Court or History Associates during 14 months of litigation,” it added.

Holding the SEC To Its Own Standard

Previously, Coinbase’s CLO affirmed that “this isn’t some ‘oops’ moment. This was a destruction of evidence relevant to pending litigation.” Similarly, the filing stated that the SEC can’t claim “no harm, no foul” for running “thirteenth-hour searches” that come “far too late.”

It argued that if the regulatory agency had conducted prompt, proper searches when History Associates first submitted its FOIA requests in July and August 2023, the Commission could have reviewed the records at the time or taken actions to preserve them.

“It may be impossible to reconstruct how many responsive texts have been irretrievably lost due to the SEC’s stonewalling and what critical information will never see daylight as a result. But what is certain is that the SEC’s destroy-and-delay approach to records must end immediately,” the document read.

The case noted that within the last few years, the SEC had imposed over a billion dollars in fines on private parties for similar failures to preserve securities-related text messages and communications while emphasizing that “everybody should play by the same rules” and be held “accountable for violating (…) time-tested record keeping requirements.”

To ensure that the SEC is “held to its own standard” and prevent similar incidents in the future, Coinbase asked the Court to hold a hearing and order appropriate relief, including an expedited proper search for and production of all relevant texts that the agency’s searches did not uncover, discovery to “get to the bottom of the agency’s spoliation,” and all appropriate sanctions.

‘South Park’ Season 27: When Does the Next Episode Come Out?

by admin September 4, 2025

Comedy Central/Video screenshot by CNET

If you’ve been around for the start of South Park season 27, you know its rollout has been hectic. The hit animated show had its season 27 premiere date pushed by two weeks and then announced its second installment would drop two weeks after the first. We’re now several weeks in and it’s easier to predict when new South Park episodes will debut.

According to the show’s website, South Park will continue to release episodes every other week at least through episode 5. Episode 4, “Wok is Dead,” airs on Comedy Central later today. The forthcoming installment has a trailer and a description: “Butters experiences the reality of tariffs when he has to buy a Labubu doll for his girlfriend’s birthday.”

While we don’t have additional details on future South Park episodes, another aspect of the show is more definitive: its new streaming home. With the signing of a deal in July, 50 new South Park episodes and the show’s back catalog will be on Comedy Central and Paramount Plus. Forthcoming episodes of season 27 will stream on Paramount Plus in the US the day after airing on Comedy Central. The show is no longer available on HBO Max as of early August.

If you want to watch the 27th season of the show co-created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, here’s what to know.

Don’t miss any of our unbiased tech content and lab-based reviews. Add us as a preferred Google source on Chrome.

South Park season 27, episode 4 release date and streaming details

Episode 4 will air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 10 p.m. ET, 10 p.m. PT or 9 p.m. CT and stream on Paramount Plus the next day (the first three episodes are already on the streaming service). Episode 5 will air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Season 27 episodes will hit Paramount Plus in the US the day after they air on Comedy Central. If you don’t want to wait that long to watch without cable, you might want to consider a live TV streaming service like Philo, Sling or YouTube TV. More on that below.

James Martin/CNET

Paramount Plus has two plans: Paramount Plus Essential and Paramount Plus Premium, which used to be called Paramount Plus with Showtime. Essential costs $8 per month and includes ads and a sampling of Showtime programming. Premium removes ads and unlocks more Showtime titles, among other perks.

Philo

Philo is a live TV streaming service that provides more than 70 channels, including Comedy Central. A subscription costs $28 per month and also includes access to AMC Plus content. Rivals like YouTube TV come with more channels but Philo could be a good fit for you if you like its smaller selection for a lower price.

Sarah Tew/CNET

Sling is between Philo and YouTube TV in price. Sling’s Orange plan costs $46 a month and its Blue plan costs between $46 and $51, depending on where you live. Sling Blue and Orange include Comedy Central and you can compare the rest of their channel lineups here.

Scarlet Hollow Episode 5 coming Q1 of 2026

by admin September 3, 2025

Today, Black Tabby Games announced that Episode 5 of their game, Scarlet Hollow, will be coming sometime in the first quarter of 2026.

Dearest Cousins,

We just got back from PAX, where we had a wonderful time meeting some of you and catching up with other devs.

It’s been a pretty scattered month between traveling and some cool behind the scenes stuff we can’t talk about for a while, but we still made further progress with art and coding. Abby’s finished another six backgrounds (now up to 20 total for the episode) and I finished the final touches on three script files.

But most importantly, we also figured out a much better way to tackle the middle arc of the Episode, and have had to dedicate a couple of weeks to reworking those sections of the script. We usually find ourselves doing edits to this extent at some point during development, so this isn’t too unusual for our process.

And thankfully, we’re already most of the way through this draft, so taking that extra time shouldn’t throw development too far off schedule. But hitting our original target release date in early December was already going to be a tight deadline, and at this point, it no longer feels like a reasonable goal. We can very comfortably commit to two things, though:

1. Episode 5 will release in Q1 of 2026.

2. We’ll announce a firm release date before the end of the year. I will say that we have a specific date in mind, but a short-form announcement in our newsletter isn’t the place to share that information. We care a lot about Scarlet Hollow and want to make sure it has the opportunity to participate in showcases and reach an even larger audience.

We know that this is disappointing news, and that you’ve all been incredibly patient while we’ve plugged away at this, but it’s important to us to communicate clearly and honestly with you all, rather than stringing you (and ourselves) along until the scope of the remaining work forced us to delay last minute. We strongly believe that this new draft elevates the episode to new heights and is worth the extra time.

We can’t wait to devastate all of you >:]

Best,

Tony and Abby

What time is Alien: Earth Episode 5 out?

by admin September 2, 2025

After last week’s shocking ending, Alien: Earth is returning to its roots via deep-space horror in Episode 5 – and the Xenomorph is back.

The new Alien series, developed by Noah Hawley (Legion, Fargo), opened with a brief sequence on the USS Maginot, a doomed Weyland-Yutani research vessel that crashes into Prodigy City on Earth when things go very wrong aboard the ship.

But what exactly happened on its fateful voyage home? We saw glimpses of it in the premiere’s prologue, with Bear (the show’s revered Xeno) wreaking havoc as Morrow declared the crew dead and climbed into a hideaway underneath Mother’s mainframe.

This week, Alien: Earth Episode 5 will explore the full, horrifying nightmare that befell the Maginot’s crew – and this time, everybody will hear them scream.

Alien: Earth Episode 5 release date & time

Alien: Earth Episode 5 will air on FX and drop on Hulu and Disney Plus at 5pm PT/8pm ET on September 2.

For UK viewers and those outside the US, that means you’ll either need to stay up late or get up early and watch it to avoid spoilers. Find out when it’ll be available to stream in other time zones below:

  • 1am UK
  • 2am Central European Summer Time
  • 3am Eastern European Summer Time
  • 5:30am India

How many episodes of Alien: Earth are there?

There are eight episodes of Alien: Earth. The first two were released August 12, and the rest will be released individually and weekly thereafter.

As for whether or not Season 2 is on the table, it looks likely. Speaking to Variety in 2024, FX chief John Landgraf teased: “We’re pretty bullish on Alien: Earth and we’ve told [Hawley] that assuming, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a returning television series, we want him to focus on at least writing two seasons of it before returning to a possible sixth season of Fargo.”

What happened in Alien: Earth Episode 4?

FX/Hulu

Alien: Earth Episode 4 mostly took place on Prodigy Island, with Boy Kavalier wanting his team to figure out what’s going on with Wendy’s connection to the Xenomorphs, especially when she manages to vocalize their noises.

The episode ends with Wendy communicating with a baby Xeno, even going as far as to pet it. “I mean, clearly it’s a matriarchy, clearly there’s a hive, clearly they’re drones, and clearly they can communicate on some level. Is it a pheromone? Is it telepathy? Is it a language we can hear, etc?” Hawley teased to Decider.

Elsewhere on the base, Kirsh grows suspicious of Slightly, and it’s clear he knows that Morrow is manipulating him. How far this will go remains unclear, but with dangerous creatures ready to be freed, things could get messy.

Nibs also believes she’s pregnant… for some reason (she seems to be carrying a lot of baggage from her past life). Also, the eye midge got its tentacles into a sheep’s eye, and it was absolutely disgusting.

Why South Park Season 27 Episode 4 isn’t out this week

by admin August 28, 2025

South Park Season 27 Episode 4 is nowhere to be seen… yet, and there’s a good reason it hasn’t been released this week.

Donald Trump sleeping with Satan, Kristi Noem shooting Krypto out of the sky, Randy Marsh falling head over heels for ChatGPT – yeah, South Park is back.

After a brief, worrying period where the show’s streaming future was uncertain, Matt Stone and Trey Parker locked in a $1.5 billion deal with Paramount. Ever since, the series has constantly occupied the news cycle, with each episode in Season 27 more outrageous than the last; as per usual, nobody is safe, no matter what side of the political spectrum you’re on.

So, after Towelie’s return last week, fans are keen to watch South Park Season 27 Episode 4. You’ll just have to wait a little while longer.

South Park Season 27 Episode 4 delay explained

Paramount+

South Park Season 27 Episode 4 won’t be released until Wednesday, September 8, due to the show’s production schedule requiring a two-week gap.

Article continues after ad

This will continue to be the case for the rest of the season, so don’t expect new episodes of South Park on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future.

Article continues after ad

There’s a simple reason: each episode has been extremely topical, whether it’s skewering Kristi Noem and ICE, parodying Charlie Kirk’s debates with college students, or Trump kicking around a baby-faced JD Vance.

Comedy Central

New episodes need to be up to date, but given their incendiary nature, Stone, Parker, and the show’s team require a bit more time to ensure they’re ready for mass consumption. “What they’re doing means this year’s episodes need more time than usual to put together, to finish,” a source told Deadline.

Article continues after ad

“So much happens right now in just one day with Trump. No one’s going to sacrifice getting it right, even if we have to push getting it to air, and if that makes the season longer, so be it.”

Article continues after ad

Another insider told the outlet, “We’re not going to argue with what’s working.

“The numbers are great, the show is getting a lot of attention — if they want to give us a 20-week season for 10 episodes, that’s okay.”

Article continues after ad

The results speak for themselves: between episodes airing on Comedy Central and streaming on Paramount Plus the next day, ratings have risen consistently since the premiere, with the show’s viewership up 49% after the first episode.

Peacemaker Season 2 does the Justice League dirty with big DCEU retcon in Episode 1

by admin August 22, 2025

Peacemaker Season 2 kicks off with a recap that changes the events of Season 1 in a way that will upset Justice League fans.

Season 2 of Peacemaker just commenced with an action-packed episode that finds Christopher Smith traveling to another dimension, as part of what James Gunn claims isn’t a multiverse story.

We’ve seen Episodes 1-5, and wrote in our Peacemaker Season 2 review that it “tells a touching tale which lacks the potentially world-ending stakes of its predecessor, but makes up for that with an emotionally charged story that acts as the DCU’s answer to Sliding Doors.”

But the new series also makes change to past events that does the DCEU dirty. SPOILERS ahead…

Justice League replaced by Justice Gang in Peacemaker Season 2

Warner Bros.

There’s a great gag at the end of Peacemaker Season 1, when the climactic battle is over, and Christopher Smith is carrying the injured Emilia Harcourt to safety.

The Justice League appear in front of him: Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman. “You’re late, ya f**king d*ck-heads” exclaims Smith, before telling Arthur Curry to “go f*ck another fish.”

Peacemaker showrunner James Gunn is now the co-chief of DC Studios, and has officially ended the DCEU, and replaced it with his own DCU.

He also introduced the Justice Gang in Superman, while Hawkgirl and Green Lantern cameo in Episode 1 of Peacemaker Season 2.

So for the sake of consistency, during the Season 1 recap at the start of the new series, Gunn has replaced the Justice League with the Justice Gang in that scene.

Warner Bros. The Justice Gang cameo in Episode 1.

In a change to the dialogue, Leota Adebayo says, “The whole team is injured, so I was thinking like, maybe you could call in the Justice Gang.” While Smith also says that he once puked over Green Lantern, and Guy Gardner liked it.

Then, instead of meeting the Justice League while carrying Harcourt, he sees Mr. Terrific, Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Supergirl.

Smith again tells them they are late, to which Hawkgirl responds with “What a meat-head!” and Guy Gardner says, “Screw that guy – you know he tells people I’m a puke-freak!”

Hawkgirl laughs at his statement, and with that history is changed, and the DCEU version of the Justice League no longer exists in the DCU.
