The Fastest Trick For Earning XP And JP In Final Fantasy Tactics Involves Frogs

by admin October 10, 2025

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles lets you train a group of newb Squires into an ultra-efficient death squad of hybrid specialists. There are so many neat Jobs and abilities to unlock in this strategy RPG that, in no time at all, you’ll be wondering what the fastest way is to obtain all of them. While there are many time-honored traditions when it comes to min-maxing the grind in Square Enix’s classic, some are more effective than others. And frogs are one of the best (technically they’re toads, but frogs is funnier to say and write).

Every action you take in combat that accomplishes something nets your character XP (experience points) and JP (job points). The first raises your regular level and the second raises your Job level and are spent to unlock abilities. You get more XP for performing actions on characters that are a higher level, and more JP the higher your overall Job level is, with bonuses for having the Double JP abilities equipped (more on that here).

There are roughly three tiers of grinding in Final Fantasy Tactics. The first is going to a place like the Mandalia Plains, killing everything but the enemy Chocobo, and then cornering it so that it keeps healing itself as your characters keep attacking it. The second is unlocking Focus from the Squire Job on every character, keeping one enemy alive in a battle, and then just spending the rest of the time having everyone keep using this ability over and over again. It’s boring and tedious, but it gets results and is easy to implement. The third is having everyone learn a dance or Bard song have them perform it on repeat. It’s similar to the Focus version but requires fewer button presses and neutralizes enemies without killing them.

None of these, however, is as elegant and foolproof as the “Berserker Frog” method.  In this version you bring someone along who can cast both the Black Mage’s Toad spell and the Mystic’s Fervor (Berserk) and Induration (Petrify) spells. You then have them turn a single remaining enemy and the rest of your party into frogs so they deal as little damage as possible. They then cast Fervor to give all of the frogs Berserk so they just keep attacking the nearest enemy. They then cast Induration on themselves to turn themselves into stone so you don’t have to keep controlling them. Your party will proceed to auto-grind for a good long while.

Why not just use the actual auto-battle AI controls in Final Fantasy Tactics? Well, they aren’t always reliable in The Ivalice Chronicles remaster. Set characters with Focus to run away from battle and they just won’t use any abilities. Set someone to just heal allies and they’ll eventually still go and start killing stuff. AI control is fine for breezing through an encounter while you go make a sandwich but it won’t be nearly as effective over the same period of time as the Frog method. If you want to go above and beyond, you can keep multiple enemies alive and bring someone with the Arts of War ability to reduce the enemy’s power and speed before turning them into a frog so there’s no chance of anyone dying.

Some fans still maintain that the Focus method is simpler and faster. You send everyone to a corner of the map, set their AI to run away, and then hope they use Focus a bunch of times before killing the one enemy that’s left. But I find with the streamlined AI in the remaster, that’s just not as reliable anymore. Frogs are the way.

Steam’s new store look is out and is earning a mixed response: ‘Thanks Valve I am a grandma using Steam on a giant old touchscreen Samsung tablet’

by admin September 24, 2025

I’m beginning to think I have far-too-strong feelings about changes to Steam minutiae. Why? Because when I heard that Valve had finally unleashed its updated storefront from beta, I fired up the site so quickly you’d have thought it was giving out candy. No one should care this much about website UI updates. I do. This is my cross to bear.

Anyway, Steam’s storefront update is out of beta and the frontpage is a whole lot slicker now. Also, wider. Valve has merged the two constituent parts of its old UI—that big list of categories down the left-hand side and the blue bar up top—into a single easy-to-navigate bar.

As part of that merge, the Categories section now displays, well, actual categories. Before, when it was consigned to the sidebar, the Steam categories you could select consisted of things like “Top sellers,” and “New releases.”

Related articles

Now, hovering over the new Categories display section shows much more useful game genres, letting you easily browse by things like racing, stealth, and what-have-you. Also, the categories that appear are personalised for you, which is either very convenient or yet another intrusion by the dead hand of surveillance capitalism. Whichever you prefer.

I like the look of it, though I suspect the most stalwart PC gamers among you might recoil a little at how clearly mobile-friendly the new layout is. Indeed, some of the community response on Reddit has been a little mixed. “Thanks Valve I am a grandma using Steam on a giant old touchscreen Samsung tablet,” writes dogdillon, who may in fact be a grandma on a giant tablet but is more likely a sarky Steam user. “Yet another site update that gets worse on pc in favor of mobile. Bigger icons, less information, more clicks to navigate menus…” concurs hooliganmike.

It’s a brave new world. (Image credit: Valve)

Still, at least some people do like it. “Good lord, it’s actually so, so much better,” writes Xedronic, “and the categories tab is ACTUALLY COMPREHENSIBLE to look at!”

Me? I like it. Or at least, I disliked how it looked before enough that this feels like an improvement. Hey, take the wins where you can: at least Valve hasn’t installed a helpful AI chatbot prompt up there.

OKX launches USDG automatic earning feature

by admin August 28, 2025

Crypto exchange OKX has introduced a new passive income option for users holding USDG, a stablecoin issued by Paxos.

Summary

  • OKX launched the USDG Auto-Earning feature on August 28, 2025, enabling users to earn passive income directly from their USDG holdings.
  • USDG is issued by Paxos Digital and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), fully backed 1:1 with U.S. dollar reserves.
  • Users can earn interest automatically without staking or locking funds, starting with as little as 1 USDG.

According to an official announcement from OKX, the project called USDG Auto-Earning was launched on August 28, 2025, at 11:00 (UTC+8) to meet the dual demand for asset efficiency and income generation.

The offering is part of OKX’s broader push to support USDG as both a collateral asset and an interest-bearing asset within its ecosystem. Users who hold USDG in their OKX account can now earn interest automatically without needing to stake or lock their funds.

USDG was launched in February 2025 by Paxos Digital and is regulated under the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). It is fully backed 1:1 by U.S. dollar reserves, and was approved as part of MAS’s forthcoming stablecoin regulatory framework, aimed at improving transparency, security, and compliance in the stablecoin market.

OKX describes USDG Auto-Earning as a capital-efficient solution. In use cases such as mortgage lending or margin trading, USDG can help users optimize capital while earning passive income at the same time. Importantly, there are no additional fees for earning, and no upper limit on deposits. Users can earn based on whatever amount they hold, with returns scaling accordingly.

That said, OKX notes that some jurisdictions may restrict or not offer this feature due to local regulations.

How to start earning with OKX’s USDG feature

To participate, users must transfer USDG to their OKX account and maintain a balance of at least 1 USDG in either a funding or trading account. Earnings begin automatically from the day after deposit, and there’s no need to manually subscribe.

Per the exchange, rewards are calculated using this formula: “Profit = lowest value of 24-hour snapshot per day × APR ÷ 365.”

While OKX hasn’t disclosed a fixed APR, the rate is dynamically adjusted based on supply and demand in lending markets, and typically reflects simple annualized returns, excluding compounding.

Income is distributed weekly, directly to the user’s fund account, making the process seamless and consistent. With strong regulatory backing from MAS, flexible earning terms, and automatic yield generation, this new feature turns USDG into a versatile tool for both saving and strategy.
