The DC/Marvel Teamup Adds New Hero Duos To the Mix

by admin August 17, 2025

Earlier this summer, we learned DC and Marvel Comics were having their first proper crossover in decades, bringing together different pairings of characters from both publishers. So far, we’ve only known what’s coming from Marvel—now we know what DC’s bringing to the plate, and it’s a new batch of teamups featuring some of DC’s current big talents in charge of these stories.

Per DC’s recent solicitations for November, DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool #1—written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Dan Mora—will feature extra stories starring Doctor Strange and John Constantine (by Scott Snyder, Joshua Williamson, James Tynion IV, and Hayden Sherman), Harley Quinn and Hulk (Mariko Tamaki and Amanda Conner), Nightwing and Laura Kinney/Wolverine (Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo) and Static and Ms. Marvel (G. Willow Wilson and Denys Cowan).

As for the main story, Morrison and Mora will take Batman and Deadpool on “an adventure so mind-bending you’ll think you’re in a dream!” It’s currently unclear how (or if) this builds on the pair’s first partnership over in Marvel/DC, which hails from Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo. That book’s extra stories feature Green Arrow and Daredevil, Captain America and Wonder Woman, and Jeff the Shark and Krypto the Superdog.

Following September 19’s Marvel/DC: Deadpool & Batman and DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool #1 on November 19, a second set of crossovers will arrive in 2026, but both publishers are currently keeping quiet on who’s showing up for that crossover.

How to play duos in Elden Ring Nightreign

FromSoftware, maybe take notes?

Elden Ring Nightreign might not allow you to play in duos, but a user-created Seamless Co-op mod is already allowing players to bypass that trouble.

This new mod is available on Nexusmods, and this guide will provide you with all the necessary information. The process of setting it up is relatively simple, so let’s get to it.

Elden Ring Nightreign Sealess Co-op mod

The newly-released co-op mod is in a rushed alpha state, according to creator Yui, and the features are extremely basic.

  • Two and three-player lobbies
  • Mod-compatibility (due to EAC not running).

Yui has also stated that the mod will be constantly developed, and new features will be added to it.

How to use the Seamless Co-op mod in Elden Ring Nightreign

The first job is to download the required files for Elden Ring Nightreign. The Seamless Co-op mod doesn’t require the use of any prior mods, which makes it easy to set up. You’ll need to log in to your existing Nexusmods account or create one for free.

Screenshot via Nexusmods/Yui

  • The downloadable files are available in the ‘Download’ tab.
  • Extract the downloaded files.
  • Copy and paste the files to the ‘Game’ folder. This will be located within the Steamapps and Common folders, based on where you’ve installed the game. Open Common and you’ll find subfolders for all the games installed on your system (via Steam).
  • Open the “nrsc_settings.ini” and change the required player count to two. You can switch it back to three whenever required.
  • Launch the game from the launcher, and the mod will be loaded up.

If you don’t want to run the mod, launch Elden Ring Nightreign normally. To run the mod, you’ll always have to use the “nrsc_launcher.exe” (remember this step). If you no longer wish to keep the mod, just delete all the downloaded files that you have copy-pasted after extracting them. You’ll need your internet connection to make this mod work, as it won’t be operational in the single-player mod.

Can the Seamless Co-op mod ban you in Elden Ring Nightreign

While the mod requires internet connectivity, it doesn’t connect to the official matchmaking servers. Instead, it uses save files that are different from the vanilla files. The only way to get banned is by trying to tamper with the vanilla files, and you should refrain from doing that at all costs.

Also, both you and your friends should have the mod downloaded on your systems to play and defeat the Nightlords together.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s been out less than a day, and a Souls legend is already showing off a duos mod demo for it, because of course they are

Boy, that escalated quickly. Elden Ring Nightreign, as I write this, has been out less than a day. So, of course someone’s already put out a video demonstrating a duos mod for it.

To be fair, I guess Nightreign’s devs had arguably thrown down the gauntlet to the FromSoft modding community when the game’s director admitted that duos play hadn’t been a big focus in development and would only potentially get some TLC further down the line.

Anyway, modder Yui – that’s the same person responsible for Elden Ring’s Seamless Co-op mod and its various siblings for other FromSoft games – is unsurprisingly the person who’s managed to whip this out in uber-quick fashion.

In the video below spotted by IGN, they demonstrate a mod that’d allow you to hop into a Nightreign session with just two players instead of the usual three or one plucky solo Soulser that’ll have a much easier time once the next patch drops.

Watch on YouTube

“As the modification runs without connecting to the matchmaking server, it is possible to use additional mods during gameplay,” Yui explained in the vid’s description, adding that they “Made it for fun.”

As of right now, they’ve not released this mod to the public meaning you can’t play it. I’d imagine if they do intend to put it out that it’s currently a work-in-progress that’ll need a lot of extra graft to fine-tune the likes of balancing – that being the main thing FromSoft’s had to work on in order to make sure the game works just as well for solo players as it does trios.

After all, more stabby blokes, more stabs inflicted on bosses, therefore bosses need to be able to take more stabs to not die too easily, and vice versa.

Elden Ring Nightreign director says Fromsoft "kind of overlooked and neglected" playing as a duo, but 2 player-friendly "post-launch support" is being considered

Couples afraid of being third-wheeled rejoice, FromSoftware might add in a duos option to Elden Ring Nightreign

by admin May 25, 2025

You know what the main thing that’s holding me back from picking up Elden Ring Nightreign at launch is? The fact it doesn’t have an option for duos. For the most part I’m a single-player only kind of person, and when I play something online I normally like to do so with just my partner. I imagine I’m not the only person this applies to, nor am I likely to be the only one who thought “I don’t really want some rando called xX_fartmaster_Xx third wheeling my partner and me.” Luckily, FromSoftware seem to be at least considering a two-player option for the upcoming Soulslike.

Game director Junya Ishizaki recently spoke with IGN about the things he learned under Elden Ring’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki. It’s a great interview, but the main thing we’re concerned with here is Ishizaki’s comments on not having a two-player option. When asked why the option was omitted, Ishizaki quite plainly said that “the simple answer is that this is simply something that was overlooked during development as just a two-player option, so we’re very sorry about that.

“As we said before, we set out to make this a multiplayer co-op game for three players, balanced for three players, so that was the main focus and it’s at the core of Nightreign. Of course, I myself as a player understand that and often want times where I’m just playing myself, so this is something that we considered from the start.”

Ishizaki went on to say that the team put a lot of effort into making something enjoyable and playable for solo players. However, because they were so focused on that, they “kind of overlooked and neglected the duos aspect.” However! The director did also say that a duos mode “is something that we are looking at and considering for post-launch support as well.”

Considering it is good enough for me for now! Here’s hoping the update comes before that Elden Ring movie that’s in the works that I’m pretending doesn’t exist.
