Crypto Booms as Fed Goes Dovish: Here’s What It Means for Ethereum, Solana and Dogecoin

by admin August 23, 2025

In brief

  • Fed Chair Jerome Powell went much more dovish than expected at Jackson Hole, sending stocks up 2% and crypto markets higher.
  • Altcoins are outpacing Bitcoin, with Dogecoin and Solana showing increasingly bullish signs.
  • But today, all eyes are on Ethereum, which is inching closer to breaking its 2021 all-time high.

Crypto markets have come alive following dovish remarks today from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. The Fed chairman opened the door to interest rate cuts during a speech at Jackson Hole, which both traditional and crypto markets had been eagerly awaiting—though not necessarily expecting.

Crypto climbed back above the $4 trillion mark and the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped as much as 900 points, up to 2% on the day, after Powell suggested interest rate cuts could be on the way. The synchronized risk-on rally across both traditional and digital assets happens after weeks of consolidation, with the S&P 500 gaining 1.68% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq rising 2.1%.

Powell’s keynote at the annual symposium struck a more dovish tone than markets anticipated. “Downside risks to employment are rising,” Powell said. “With policy in restrictive territory, the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting our policy stance.”

The comments effectively confirmed market expectations for a September rate cut—the first during President Donald Trump’s second term—sending risk assets soaring. Why? Lower interest rates means cheaper money, and that normally translates into more dollars being relocated from safer, yield-earnings investments into riskier bets, such as stocks and crypto.

Meanwhile, oil prices climbed 4% this week to $76.45 as Middle East tensions escalate. Crypto markets, though, appear unfazed by the geopolitical uncertainty.

Bitcoin spiked 3.5% today to its current price above $116,000. But, as is often the case, when Bitcoin jumps, lower liquidity altcoins get sent much higher.

Ethereum is currently up more than 12% on the day, teasing traders with a potential break above its all-time high price of $4,878—a record that’s held since November 2021. But it’s not just ETH either: Dogecoin and Solana, two of the biggest altcoins in the market, are also experiencing impressive gains.

Here’s what the charts have to say about it:

Dogecoin (DOGE) price: Return of the meme king

Dogecoin has rallied 9% to $0.23 over the past 24 hours, significantly outperforming Bitcoin’s modest gains. DOGE now sits comfortably in the top 10 coins by market capitalization, with a total value of more than $35 billion.

Besides the typical overreaction to the broader market movement, the surge comes amid a whale accumulation of over 680 million DOGE (worth $157 million) in August, with technical indicators suggesting more upside ahead.

Dogecoin price data. Image: Tradingview

Dogecoin is still in the symmetrical triangle keeping prices in a compression phase since July. Today’s spike could be interpreted as an expected bounce from the triangle’s support—with some room for continuation until a decisive breakout.

If the pattern holds, expect lower highs and higher lows for at least a few more days.

The coin’s Relative Strength Index, or RSI, sits at 55. RSI measures momentum on a scale from 0 to 100, where readings above 70 indicate overbought conditions and below 30 suggest oversold. At 55, DOGE has room to run before hitting levels where traders typically take profits, signaling healthy buying pressure without excessive speculation.

DOGE’s Average Directional Index, or ADX, is at 15. This confirms the behavior inside a triangle, with very low momentum in either direction. This indicator measures trend strength on a scale where readings above 25 confirm a strong trend, and below 20 suggests no clear direction. DOGE’s low ADX reading indicates the recent bearish correction is weakening—think of it as the selling pressure running out of steam—potentially setting up for a trend reversal if buyers step in with conviction.

The 50-day Exponential Moving Average (the average price over the last 50 days) provides support around $0.20—basically today’s starting price—while the 200-day EMA sits at approximately $0.18. When the current price trades above both these levels, as DOGE currently does, it typically signals a bullish market. The coin recently entered into a “golden cross” formation, which experienced traders typically interpret as decisively bullish. But the gap between the EMAs is so slow, it’d be hard for most traders to expect a flight to the moon any time soon. The more likely interpretation is something closer to “it’s not dumping anymore.”

The Squeeze Momentum Indicator shows “on” status and aligns with the other indicators, suggesting volatility is building after a period of compression. When this indicator fires, it often precedes explosive moves as the market breaks out of its trading range. Combine this with whale accumulation and ETF speculation—and the fact that the tail before the triangle is bullish—and you’ve got a setup that may please bull traders.

Key Levels:

  • Immediate support: $0.21 (recent bounce level)
  • Strong support: $0.20 (50-day EMA)
  • Immediate resistance: $0.24 (triangle resistance)
  • Strong resistance: $0.30 (major target, decisive bullish breakout)

Solana (SOL) price: The “Ethereum killer” flexes

Solana posted an impressive 8.99% gain to $196.53, with trading volume exploding to $3.8 billion—nearly double the daily average. SOL now sits just outside the top 5 coins by market cap, valued at over $105 billion.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the coin’s bullish spike also coincides with Kanye West’s YZY meme coin launching on Solana late last night. Ye’s meme briefly hit a $3 billion market cap before settling at $1.5 billion, stress-testing the network’s capacity for on-chain volume.

Solana price data. Image: Tradingview

Whether Solana bulls should be thanking Powell or Ye (it’s Powell, let’s be real), there’s no doubt sentiment on SOL is shifting. On Myriad, a prediction market developed by Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, the odds of Solana hitting an all-time high price of $294.33 before the end of year spiked today by more than 10%. The odds, though, still favor the bears, but they’re narrowing: Myriad users currently give SOL a 44.4% chance of breaking its record.

The charts seem to line up with the shifting view.

Solana’s ADX is now at 27, crossing above the crucial 25 threshold that confirms trend establishment. SOL’s reading suggests the recent uptrend has legs, with momentum building rather than exhausting.

SOL’s RSI at 58 sits in what traders call the “sweet spot”—strong enough to show genuine buying interest, but well below the 70 level where profit-taking typically emerges. This positioning allows for another 20-30% upside before reaching historically overbought conditions where corrections often occur.

The 50-day EMA at $166 provided crucial support during the recent dip, with its current price now trading comfortably above that mark at $196. The 200-day EMA further below at $160 creates a safety net of support levels. This expanding gap between moving averages—with the faster 50-day pulling away from the slower 200-day—typically occurs during sustained uptrends and gives buyers multiple entry points on any pullbacks.

The coin also recently entered into a golden cross. But unlike DOGE, the EMA’s here are drifting apart. This shows that bullish momentum, while slow, is building up.

Key Levels:

  • Immediate support: $180 (breakout level)
  • Strong support: $166 (50-day EMA)
  • Immediate resistance: $210 (July highs)
  • Strong resistance: $250 (psychological target)

Ethereum (ETH) price: Altcoin king roars

Ethereum, the king of altcoins, protector of decentralized smart-contracting “world computers,” and first of its name, is today smiling atop its throne. ETH is on fire.

Even after yesterday’s losses, today the king of altcoins led crypto majors with a commanding 12.16% surge above $4,700, briefly touching $4,830, and approaching its 2021 all-time high of $4,878.

Ethereum price data. Image: Tradingview

The ADX at 41 signals extremely powerful momentum—readings above 40 indicate a power trend where corrections tend to be shallow and brief. Historical data shows ETH can sustain ADX readings above 40 for weeks during major rallies. And prices are well over any statistical support—which can be a damocles sword as it makes sharp drops just as likely as unusually bullish moves.

RSI at 65 approaches but hasn’t reached the 70 overbought threshold. In strong uptrends, RSI can remain between 50-70 for extended periods—this is called “embedded RSI.”

The Squeeze Momentum Indicator also suggests the explosive move has already been released from the recent compression phase. This often marks a trending period where momentum remains stable, so it can be a safe bet for bulls.

What are prediction markets saying? We’re so glad you asked. On Myriad, the odds of ETH hitting $5,000, well above its 2021 all-time high, have soared to 89%, rocketing up by more than 17% since yesterday. A separate market has Ethereum hitting a new all-time this year as a near-lock at 94%.

Key Levels:

  • Immediate support: $4,500 (psychological level)
  • Strong support: $3,757 (50-day EMA)
  • Immediate resistance: $4,866 (all-time high)
  • Strong resistance: $5,500 (measured move target)

Today’s Dogecoin Technical Analysis 📊

Dogecoin has largely mirrored Bitcoin’s action over the past 3-4 days in that it’s also hovering around a major support level that could signal whale accumulation before the next leg up.

This support comes from an upward sloping trendline that previously triggered $DOGE’s massive July rally, where the token gained more than 80% in just a couple of weeks.

Even better, $DOGE’s current price on the daily chart is resting not only on that trendline but also around key moving averages – the 100, 200 EMAs – giving it multiple layers of support to potentially bounce from.

Just like Bitcoin, Doge’s current weekly candle is sitting right at the 50% Fibonacci retracement level, a strong signal in favor of buyers.

All in all, the larger picture remains bullish. That said, in the short term (4H and 1H charts), momentum is still bearish.

The ideal play now is patience. Wait for a big fat green daily candle that resets momentum and aligns the moving averages beneath price in the proper bullish sequence, potentially setting the stage for an explosive move.

While Dogecoin Stalls, Maxi Doge Hits the Pre-Workout

August 22, 2025 • 10:00 UTC

Dogecoin’s stuck in a neutral zone, trading between $0.21 and $0.2221. RSI and MACD are flat, the chart is forming a broadening triangle, and traders are sitting around waiting for a breakout.

Despite bullish headlines like Wyoming’s stablecoin launch and Thumzup’s acquisition, $DOGE is not lifting.

Meanwhile, newcomer, Maxi Doge ($MAXI), is tearing off its hoodie and heading straight for the squat rack.

With zero-tax trading, high staking rewards (currently 214%), and a pumped-up presale, Maxi Doge channels the raw energy of motivational memes, protein-packed ambition, and laser-eyed conviction.

Available now on presale for just $0.0002535, $MAXI is built for gains and glory.

Hyper Bit Mines $DOGE; $MAXI Mines Hype

August 22, 2025 • 10:00 UTC

Hyper Bit Technologies just locked in a deal to acquire Dogecoin Mining Technologies Corp., securing up to 2,660 ElphaPex DG1 and DG2 miners.

These rigs will be hosted at a renewable energy facility with access to 11 MW of power, giving Hyper Bit serious firepower in the $DOGE and Litecoin mining game.

The move also positions Hyper Bit as one of the first publicly traded altcoin mining firms, signaling growing institutional interest in meme coin infrastructure.

But while Hyper Bit builds the backend, Maxi Doge ($MAXI) is front-facing the future of meme coin culture.

It’s not about mining, anymore, it’s about memeing with muscle. Maxi Doge blends Dogecoin’s charm with a gym-bro narrative: zero-tax trading, staking rewards, and a presale that’s all flex, no fluff.

Buy in. Bulk up. Become a Maxi. Because in this market, only the strongest memes survive.

DOGE Surges 5% Amid Trump-Affiliated Dogecoin Mining Deal and Fed Comments

by admin August 22, 2025

Dogecoin rallied on Tuesday after a string of regulatory and corporate catalysts shifted sentiment across the crypto sector. A $50 million Trump-linked acquisition of a DOGE mining firm, Wyoming’s launch of a state-backed stablecoin, and comments from Federal Reserve officials signaling a softer stance on digital assets all converged to trigger fresh institutional flows.

News Background

• Thumzup, a Trump-affiliated entity, acquired Dogehash for $50 million, creating what executives described as the largest DOGE mining operation. The deal signals deep-pocketed confidence in Dogecoin infrastructure.
• Wyoming unveiled the Frontier Stable Token, the first government-backed state stablecoin, reinforcing the U.S. regulatory pivot toward digital assets.
• Fed Vice Chair Michelle Bowman warned banks about competitive risks from delaying digital asset adoption, signaling a more crypto-accommodative posture.
• SoFi Technologies integrated Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, targeting the $740 billion remittance market — another signal of traditional finance edging deeper into crypto rails.

Price Action Summary

• DOGE traded in a $0.01 band from $0.21 to $0.22 between Aug. 20 15:00 and Aug. 21 14:00, marking ~4–5% intraday volatility.
• The token rallied 5% from $0.21 to $0.22 during the Aug. 20 evening session, establishing $0.22 as near-term resistance.
• A late-session 60-minute window (Aug. 21 13:22–14:21) saw DOGE surge 1% from $0.22 to $0.22 with volume spikes above 61.8 million, confirming institutional activity.
• Support consistently held in the $0.21–$0.22 zone with bounces on 320–380 million volume across key testing points.

Technical Analysis

• Support: $0.21–$0.22 established as reliable floor with repeated high-volume retests.
• Resistance: $0.22 key pivot cleared, but bulls need follow-through toward $0.225 to confirm breakout.
• Volume: Peak surges of 61.8 million and 378.6 million confirm institutional buying interest.
• Pattern: Classic consolidation followed by impulsive breakout; upward trajectory if support base holds.
• Futures OI: Stable around $3 billion, reflecting sustained leveraged interest despite macro volatility.

What Traders Are Watching

• Whether DOGE can sustain above the $0.22 pivot and push toward $0.225–$0.23 resistance.
• The market’s reaction to Fed policy shifts and Wyoming’s stablecoin launch — potential sector-wide tailwind.
• Whale accumulation patterns, already totaling 2 billion DOGE ($500M) this week.
• Mining sector expansion via Thumzup’s acquisition and its impact on DOGE’s hashpower distribution.

XRP Paints Critical Divergence, Dogecoin (DOGE): Last Chance, Explosive Solana (SOL) Rally Now?

XRP Paints Critical Divergence, Dogecoin (DOGE): Last Chance, Explosive Solana (SOL) Rally Now?

by admin August 21, 2025

  • Dogecoin rises above
  • Solana’s ascent

With its price resting on a support trendline, and momentum waning, XRP is approaching a critical phase as technical indicators generate conflicting signals. With an ascending diagonal pattern, and the 50-day EMA defining a key support zone, the asset is currently trading at about $2.87.

The Relative Strength Index provides a different narrative. A bearish divergence has been formed by the RSI’s downward trend over the past month, even though XRP’s price has maintained higher lows. If support fails, this kind of setup frequently portends possible breakdowns and indicates waning buying momentum.

XRP/USDT Chart by TradingView

The RSI, which is close to 41, suggests that XRP is getting close to oversold territory, but if there is not any new volume, the divergence may continue into more significant corrections.

In addition to the cautious outlook, trading volume has been declining steadily since the peak in July, which was around $3.70. This decline in participation shows that bulls are becoming less confident, which makes XRP susceptible to more aggressive movements should selling pressure pick up speed.

Historically, either breakdowns or sharp rebounds have been preceded by declining volume during consolidation phases; however, given the divergence, the bias is more toward downside risk.

XRP must protect the $2.80-$2.78 range in the near future. A strong decline toward $2.45, the level that the 200-day EMA supports, might be triggered by a clear break below.

Dogecoin rises above

The asset is currently trading at $0.212, just above a support zone intersection that includes the 200-day EMA, and an upward trendline that dates back to July. Although price action indicates waning momentum, and the potential for the final support level to give way soon, this alignment has so far served as a safety net for DOGE.

Every time the ascending trendline has been tested in the last two weeks, lower highs have been produced, indicating a waning of buying pressure. The volume has been decreasing at the same time, indicating that market players are not as dedicated to holding DOGE at these levels.

You Might Also Like

With a neutral-to-weak momentum reading of 46, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) does not exhibit a strong oversold or recovery signal.

A clustering of moving averages below Dogecoin’s price is a risk. Even though EMAs are frequently used as dynamic support, they are more prone to break under pressure if they converge more in a weakening setup.

The next obvious supports are far below, at about $0.20 and $0.18, if DOGE breaks the ascending trendline. With fewer high-volume nodes in the current range to absorb selling, such a break would probably cause a steeper decline.

Conversely, the first upside target is still $0.226, which is followed by $0.24, where DOGE has previously failed to maintain momentum, if it is able to hold this level and produce a bounce.

But unless buyers come back in large numbers, this is probably just a short-term respite rather than the beginning of a long-term rally.

Solana’s ascent

Its price is situated directly on an ascending trendline that has been driving its bullish momentum since July. As long as this technical structure holds, there is hope for one more leg upward. Nevertheless, there are some issues with the setup, because volume and momentum indicators present a more cautious picture.

The way that the moving averages interact with Solana’s current chart is one of its main advantages. The major EMAs have converged after months of divergence, offering a robust cluster of dynamic support below the price. This alignment frequently indicates that the trend is structurally stable, providing buyers with a buffer against any short-term weakness.

You Might Also Like

SOL is cooling off rather than overheating, as indicated by the RSI’s downward trend. Resetting can create room for a subsequent rally in a bullish environment without running the risk of overextending. As a result, Solana is less susceptible to sudden severe corrections than assets that are deeply overbought.

However, the largest obstacle to the rally narrative is volume. The price remains close to critical support, but recent trading sessions show waning participation and declining bars. If volume is weak, any possible breakout above $190-$200 might not have the conviction required for long-term momentum.

It will be crucial in the upcoming weeks if Solana can hold onto the rising trendline. An explosive rally toward $210-$220 is possible if buyers enter the market with fresh volume. A breakdown below $173 and $170, on the other hand, would render the bullish structure invalid, and probably lead to a more significant correction toward $160.

Dogecoin Whales Accumulate as Short-Term Holders Capitulate: What’s Going On?

by admin August 20, 2025

In brief

  • Dogecoin whales have accumulated 300M DOGE tokens over the past week, as short-term holders sell at a loss.
  • The profitability of investors who purchased the dog-based meme token over the past 30 days hovers around 9% after the recent crypto market correction.
  • Experts suggest this capitulation is a forced transfer of wealth from weak hands to strong ones and is bullish in the long run.

On-chain data reveals that Dogecoin whales are aggressively accumulating the meme coin at a discount as short-term holders capitulate amid major fundamental developments and price reversals.

The divergence in behavior follows a series of recent key events, including a spot ETF filing and a high-profile corporate acquisition.

A capitulation event was spotted on August 15 with 271.41 million DOGE sold at a loss, according to Santiment data.

A capitulation event is when investors sell their token at a loss amid volatile price regimes.

Dogecoin experienced a 16% correction between August 13 and 14, resulting in a local bottom formation on August 15. But retail investors, often swayed by ephemeral price moves, sold their tokens at a loss on August 15.

The profitability of short-term holders who purchased Dogecoin tokens in the past month reached 9% on August 19, further highlighting the capitulation.

Over the same period, however, whales holding between 100 million and 1 billion DOGE acquired more than 330 million DOGE at a discount, bringing their total holdings to 26.73 billion.

“This looks like the community shaking out short-term price chasers while long-term believers add to their stacks,” Jordan Jefferson, Founder and CEO of Dogecoin app layer DogeOS, told Decrypt.

However, this divergence is not a cause for concern, he argued. “Supply is moving into steadier hands that care about Dogecoin’s future rather than the daily chart,” Jefferson explained.

Dogecoin ETF incoming?

This dynamic between short and long-term holders is playing out against the backdrop of several major headlines.

On August 16, Grayscale filed an S-1 for a spot Dogecoin ETF.

Though the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has since delayed its decision, this move, coupled with the announcement of a Trump family-backed company acquiring a Dogecoin mining firm, has injected both institutional legitimacy and speculative hype surrounding Dogecoin.

Jefferson believes this split is a key differentiator in how retail and institutional investors process information.

“Headlines move fast, and retail speculators chase them,” he stated, noting that whales, in contrast, “see past that, recognizing that DOGE is stepping onto institutional rails while also moving into real-world applications.”

This long-term view enables large investors to capitalize on short-term price weakness to accumulate for the future.

Rather than pointing to the future downside, Jefferson argued that the capitulation and accumulation signal a healthy consolidation phase for Dogecoin.

Trump Family Expands Crypto Bets as Thumzup Pivots Into Dogecoin Mining

by admin August 20, 2025

Thumzup Media Corp. (TZUP), which counts Donald Trump Jr. as a large shareholder, said it will acquire Dogehash Technologies, Inc. in an all-stock deal, pivoting from digital marketing into industrial-scale crypto mining

Under the agreement, Dogehash shareholders will receive 30.7 million Thumzup shares, according to a Tuesday release, valuing the transaction at $153.8 million, based on the shares’ closing price. The combined company will rebrand as Dogehash Technologies Holdings, Inc. and list on Nasdaq under the ticker XDOG, pending shareholder approval later this year.

Dogehash operates about 2,500 Scrypt ASIC miners across renewable-powered data centers in North America, with plans to scale up further in 2026. Unlike firms that pad their balance sheets by simply buying coins, Dogehash has invested in its own infrastructure, giving it direct exposure to dogecoin

and litecoin block rewards at a lower cost base.

The deal comes on the heels of Thumzup’s $50 million stock offering in July, earmarked for mining expansion and digital asset accumulation. The company says it will also use Dogecoin’s DogeOS layer 2 to stake in DeFi products, aiming to boost miner returns beyond standard rewards.

This new deal adds to the Trump family’s expanding crypto empire. Eric Trump and Donald Jr. launched American Bitcoin earlier this year with Hut 8, which has over 60,000 miners.

Meanwhile, World Liberty Financial, another Trump-backed venture, struck a $1.5 billion deal with Nasdaq-listed ALT5 Sigma to inject its WLFI token into the firm’s treasury.

Thumzup stock fell 41% to $5.01 on Tuesday.

Dogecoin Open Interest Underwater With 15,160,000,000 DOGE

by admin August 20, 2025

  • DOGE bull season over?
  • What’s next for DOGE?

The crypto market is in a massive bloodbath and investors’ confidence has continued to weaken. Amid this negative market condition, data from Coinglass shows that the largest meme token by market capitalization, Dogecoin (DOGE), has seen its futures open interest decline by 8.24% over the last day.

The data shows that the total number of active futures contracts involving Dogecoin that have not been settled has dropped significantly to 15.16 billion DOGE worth approximately $3.25 billion.

You Might Also Like

This marks a massive decrease from the number of DOGE recorded the previous day, sitting at its bare levels since the beginning of August.

DOGE bull season over?

The plunge in Dogecoin’s open interest comes as the meme coin falls significantly in its trading price, struggling to hold key support levels.

While the price plunge is experienced across the broad crypto market, prices of altcoins and memecoins are mirroring the broader market downturn led by Bitcoin and Ethereum.

With this unfavorable market trend, risk appetite across altcoins and meme assets has declined massively, and such highly volatile cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin have continued to plunge deeper over the past days.

With Dogecoin falling notably by 8.24% in the last day, it appears that traders are increasingly exiting leveraged positions. While the latest liquidation trends have seen traders opening long positions suffer massive losses, the decrease in DOGE’s open interest signals weakening confidence among investors. As such, the unsettled futures contracts have probably been wiped out by liquidation, or the traders are closing positions to hedge against the possibility of suffering further losses.

What’s next for DOGE?

Following speculations that the broad crypto market might already be slowly entering its bearish phase, investors are wary of committing more funds to the asset’s derivatives market.

Over the last day, the token has seen its price decline massively by 4.4%, trading as low as $0.2137 as of press time, according to data provided by CoinMarketCap.

Source: CoinMarketCap

Despite positive predictions from analysts suggesting that the token might regain momentum shortly, investors are still taking caution as sustained decreases in open interest like this have historically been followed by deeper market bloodbaths.

Bitcoin (BTC): Goodbye to $120,000, Dogecoin (DOGE) Can Avoid Breakdown, Shiba Inu (SHIB) Price Shock on Edge

by admin August 20, 2025

  • Dogecoin can avoid it
  • Shiba Inu: End of symmetrical triangle

Technical indicators now scream the beginning of a wider downtrend, and Bitcoin’s surge toward $120,000 has stopped. Following several tests of the $120,000 resistance, and months of strong momentum, the market has turned bearish, endangering important support levels.

The 50-day EMA had been a reliable support throughout the summer, so its loss is the most concerning thing for the market right now. The inability to maintain this level indicates that the short-term bullish momentum has run its course. Bitcoin is currently trading below this moving average, indicating a definite downward trend bias.

Now focus shifts to the 100-day EMA at $110,500. This level has historically served as a dependable Bitcoin bounce zone during consolidations. However, there is little assurance that the 100 EMA will hold this time around, given the quick decline in momentum.

BTC/USDT Chart by TradingView

The 200-day EMA, which is the next significant structural support, is located around $103,000. A clear break below it would most likely allow for a deeper retracement.

Momentum indicators support the pessimistic assessment. A shift toward seller dominance, and a loss of bullish strength, are what RSI is trying to tell us with a decline below 50. The likelihood of persistent downward pressure is increased if the RSI continues to decline into bearish territory in the absence of a dramatic reversal.

The bearish argument is supported by the trading volume. It appears that bulls are not intervening forcefully to defend important price levels because trading activity has been low despite the pullback. This lack of conviction makes the downtrend narrative even stronger.

Dogecoin can avoid it

After recent downward pressure, Dogecoin is struggling to hold onto important technical levels, putting it at risk of entering the bear market, but there is a chance. There are indications that DOGE might try to recover from its current zone and avoid a more severe breakdown, even though bearish sentiment is beginning to seep into the market.

The fact that the 50-day EMA is still above the 100-day and 200-day EMAs is the key technical indicator in favor of this outlook. This alignment demonstrates that, in spite of the recent price weakness, DOGE is still holding a medium-term bullish structure. The price is also holding onto the 50-day EMA support, which has served as a buffer against more severe drops. There is a good chance DOGE will recover if it can hold this level.

Declining volume on the downside moves is another element that favors DOGE. When sell-off volume is declining, it usually means that the bearish momentum is not being aggressively maintained. According to this, sellers might be losing faith, and a lack of resolute action could give DOGE the time it needs to stabilize and bounce back.

Still, there are a lot of risks. A rapid decline below the 50 EMA would expose DOGE to the 100 EMA support at $0.21, and a subsequent breakdown might put the 200 EMA at $0.20 to the test. If those levels were broken, the market would enter a pronounced bearish phase, greatly diminishing the likelihood of a recovery.

Positively maintaining current support might allow DOGE to retest the resistance zone between $0.24 and $0.26, which has proven difficult in recent months. The first clear indication of a fresh bullish push would be breaking through that area.

Shiba Inu: End of symmetrical triangle

Shiba Inu’s position at the bottom of a symmetrical triangle pattern that has been compressing over the last few months puts it in a very risky trading position. The peak of the spike in volatility we are witnessing right now is approaching. The breakout’s direction will probably determine SHIB’s next significant move, so the price action at this point is crucial.

SHIB is having trouble close to the triangle’s lower boundary, and the declining trading volume indicates that neither bulls nor bears are very confident. Because traders wait for confirmation before investing, low volume inside consolidation patterns frequently precedes significant swings. It is likely that the final breakout will be more explosive the longer SHIB remains within this narrowing range.

The fact that the 50-day EMA is about to move below the 100-day EMA is adding to the pressure. A bearish signal would result from such a development, which would contrast the midterm strength with the short-term momentum’s waning. Verified, this cross might push SHIB below its crucial support at $0.000012, which would allow for further declines.

The proximity to the triangle’s tip, on the other hand, indicates that buyers may initiate a significant upward move if SHIB is able to recover from its current position and maintain support. A break above $0.000014-$0.000015 would dispel short-term pessimism and probably lead to a volatility-driven rally, with possible targets returning to the $0.000017 region.

Dogecoin Comes Under Attack From Same Group That Orchestrated Monero’s 51% Takeover

The Qubic community is now targeting Dogecoin (DOGE) following its recent and controversial attack on Monero (XMR). After executing a 51% takeover and claiming majority control over Monero’s hashrate, the group is now shifting focus toward the world’s largest meme coin, signaling what could become one of the most ambitious challenges yet against a major Proof of Work (PoW) network.

Qubic Targets Dogecoin After Monero Domination

The Dogecoin network has become the latest declared target of Qubic, the project that recently claimed to have orchestrated a successful 51% attack on Monero. Sergey Ivancheglo, known on  X social media as ‘Come-from-Beyond’ and the founder of Qubic, confirmed the move after a community vote on Discord placed Dogecoin as the overwhelming choice over competitors such as Kaspa and Zcash. The decision underscores a significant escalation in Qubic’s ambitions, shifting focus from privacy-focused networks to one of the largest and most recognizable meme coins in existence.

Qubic’s founder highlighted that the previous Monero operation served as a demonstration of what coordinated control over hashrate can achieve. By pooling resources, the project reportedly captured over 77.54% of Monero’s power, effectively proving that 51% attacks are not merely theoretical vulnerabilities but real threats that could paralyze entire ecosystems. Ivancheglo also described the attack as a wake-up call, claiming that it helped Monero developers accelerate their work on defensive measures.

Notably, crypto analysts have voiced concern that Qubic’s current focus on Dogecoin could represent a new frontier in network dominance. The Qubic pool previously boasted 4.29 GH/s of computational power that crushed Monero’s defenses, but Dogecoin’s scale presents a much more formidable challenge. Still, community insiders are not backing down, with many supporting the founder’s plan to dominate Dogecoin.

The Challenge Of Taking On Dogecoin’s Network

While Monero fell victim to Qubic’s calculated push, Dogecoin’s defense rests on an entirely different foundation. A Qubic Ambassador identified as the ‘QubicChurch’ on X explains that, unlike Monero’s CPU-friendly, ASIC-resistant RandomX algorithm, Dogecoin relies on the Scrypt algorithm and is merge-mined with Litecoin. This means that the majority of Litecoin’s massive mining infrastructure also secures Dogecoin, creating a combined shield of unprecedented scale.

As of August 18, 2025, Dogecoin’s hashrate stands at roughly 3.47 PH/s, while Litecoin adds 2.78 PH/s. Together, their combined network strength dwarfs Monero by over a million times. The Qubic Ambassador acknowledged this staggering gap, pointing out that preparation for such an attack on Dogecoin would require months of development.

Notably, the scale difference between Monero and Dogecoin also redefines the potential outcome. The  QubicChurch noted that if the project were to capture even 0.1% of the Dogecoin-Litecoin network, it would represent more computational power than the entire Monero network by a factor of over a thousand. At 1%, the leverage becomes astronomical, exceeding Monero’s power more than eleven thousand times over. For Qubic, such control would not only serve as proof of dominance but could also funnel massive cash flows into its ecosystem.

SEC Punts on Trump Media Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF Decision, Plus XRP and Dogecoin Funds

by admin August 19, 2025

In brief

  • The SEC will decide on the Truth Social Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF on October 8, likely after a rules change request from two exchanges that could shorten approval processes.
  • The agency delayed decisions on XRP funds from Grayscale, Bitwise, CoinShares, Canary Capital, and 21Shares.
  • It also pushed back deadlines on separate Dogecoin and Litecoin ETFs, and a proposal to add staking to an existing spot Ethereum ETF.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed its decisions on an exchange-traded fund proposed by Donald Trump’s media and technology company to track the performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum and seven other ETFs based on single digital assets.

In a filing Monday, the regulator said that it moved its deadline back 45 days for weighing in on the Truth Social Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF to October 8.

It announced identical delays for applications filed for spot XRP funds by Grayscale, CoinShares, Canary Capital, Bitwise and 21Shares, a spot Dogecoin ETF from Grayscale, and a spot Litecoin product from CoinShares, although the dates for potential approvals of those funds vary.

It also held up resolving a request to add staking to the the 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF, which tracks the price of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value.

The delays comes four days after the agency delayed decisions on Solana ETFs from Bitwise, 21Shares, and VanEck, and a Dogecoin fund from 21Shares.

The SEC is weighing a wave of proposals tracking cryptocurrencies. Those submissions have resulted from the dramatic success of 11 spot Bitcoin and nine Ethereum ETFs, a more favorable political environment for cryptocurrencies ushered in by the Trump administration, and growing interest by traditional finance giants who were formerly resistant to the asset.

The filings also follow roughly three weeks after two major U.S. exchanges asked the SEC to approve amendments that could significantly shorten the approval process for future crypto exchange-traded funds, automatically listing certain products without requiring case-by-case filings.

In separate filings, Cboe BZX and NYSE Arca requested changes to their listing standards that would allow certain crypto ETFs to be listed without enduring the SEC’s rigorous evaluation under Rule 19b-4, a process that requires exchanges to submit proposed rule changes. Under current guidelines, such reviews of proposed changes to funds could take 240 days.

Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas told Decrypt that the SEC’s filings Monday were “nothing significant,” and were likely timed to follow a probable SEC green light of Cboe and NYSE’s amendments next month following the conclusion of a comments period.

“Even though it feels like ‘Isn’t this SEC supposed to approve all this stuff?’, the listing standards are out for comment,” Balchunas said. “So just in the nick of time, these listing standards should be approved. And then we’re anticipating a batch of approvals based on the listing standard starting in October.”

“So this delay feels discouraging, but it’s just a little more patience,” he added. “It’ll all happen soon.”
