Does the dog die in Good Boy?

by admin October 3, 2025

Good Boy is one of the most acclaimed and talked about horror movies of 2025, but with an adorable dog taking center stage in the movie, this is your guide to if the canine dies, should that be information you need before deciding to watch.

Good Boy has been making waves since it debuted at SXSW in March, with critics and audiences blown away by the horror movie‘s clever central conceit.

That’s because it’s a haunted house movie told from a canine’s point-of-view, with Indy the dog – played by Indy the dog – our eyes and ears for much of the movie, and the only character who realises that something supernatural might be afoot.

You can read our Good Boy review here. But we also know some animal-lovers won’t watch a movie if they know a dog dies, so that information can be found below. Meaning SPOILERS ahead (though please avoid if you can, as it’s best to go into this one knowing nothing).

Does the dog die in Good Boy?

IFC Films

No, the dog does not die in Good Boy, with Indy surviving through to the end of the movie.

The story concerns dog Indy and master Todd moving to a house in the woods, where the pet pooch immediately detects something supernatural within those four walls.

There’s creepy noises and shadows in the attic and basement, doors creak and open of their own accord, and Indy even sees another seemingly spectral dog creeping around the house.

But Indy’s owner seems blissfully unaware of the nightmare his dog is witnessing, and trying to protect him from. Though to be fair, Todd, has problems of his own, in the shape of a serious illness that’s affecting both his body and his brain.

That mind fog sees him treating Indy pretty poorly towards the end of the film. But it also means he banishes his best friend to under the house when the paranormal activity appears to really kick off.

Which might just save Indy’s life, as while he’s scared down there, he doesn’t die, and makes it to the end of the movie. At which point he’s found and rescued by Todd’s sister Vera, who drives him safely away from the haunted house.

So be warned – while the dog doesn’t die in Good Boy, he is in danger for much of the movie, and thanks to Indy’s incredible acting chops, appears to be stressed and frightened throughout. All of which was achieved not by scaring him senseless, but through audio cues, hand gestures, and food, though definitely not carrots.

Director compares Indy to Mission: Impossible’s Ethan Hunt

IFC Films

As the release of Good Boy has been approaching, search for whether Indy dies has spiked, prompting writer-director Ben Leonberg to speak out about the issue.

“Were we surprised by the reaction? I mean, yes, I think so,” Leonberg tells CinemaBlend. “It’s all been delightful. We certainly think our dog is really compelling. I think everyone thinks their own dog is the cutest, most compelling dog in the world. So maybe my wife and I are gonna be a little warped now. But no, it’s been delightful to see that people are this invested in Indy, his story and outcome.”

Leonberg says he’s also fine with audiences knowing in advance what happens to Indy, even comparing the dog to Ethan Hunt: “It’s probably not so different from what I think people know when they go and see a Mission: Impossible movie,” says Leonberg.

“Tom Cruise isn’t gonna die, but the filmmaking still has to let you think he might fall off that airplane and die potentially for real, when you’re watching Mission: Impossible. So, it’s a different way to solve a kind of similar problem.”

Good Boy is in cinemas now, while you can head here to learn about the celluloid inspiration for the movie, or here to find out where Good Boy will be streaming first.

Viral dog walker who wears massive dachshund outfit explains why he does it

by admin September 24, 2025

A man who has gone viral for watching his dachshund while he wears an inflatable sausage dog costume has explained why he does it.

Dog videos have long been one of the internet’s favorite genres, especially when it comes to dachshunds. The mischievous sausage dogs are always up to something and can be the source of big joy.

However, Rich Luchford – who is known as Undercover Daschund on social media – has taken things up a level. The Canadian, who is based in Whitby, Oshawa, has been going viral for walking his dog, Mia, while wearing an inflatable dachshund costume.

Luchford regularly posts videos from his own perspective, but is regularly snapped by passersby as well, leading to plenty of laughs.

The roofer admitted that he wasn’t expecting it to “blow up to something like this,” but is just trying to spread some joy during his dog walks.

“People kind of look at me like ‘what is this?’ and other people are smiling and I point at them and say that’s what it’s all about, that smile,” he told CTV News. “I’ve had people scream, stop, say ‘oh my gosh!’ and then drive off.”

Luchford was even recognized by the mayor of Whitby for “bringing cheer and happiness to the community.”

It’s not something he just does on special occasions, either, as his daily dog walks mean wearing the suit. He also wants to start a ‘Wiener Dog Wednesday’ event where other dachshund owners can walk with him. However, they don’t have to wear costumes as well.

Luchford’s wife and daughter have also spoken about getting a second dog. Of course, it would be a dachshund.

“If I could make some money at this and quit my job and stay home with two dachshunds, I will definitely get two dachshunds,” he added.

He also has goals of appearing at a Toronto Blue Jays game with Mia, so that she can run the bases.

Naughty Dog's Debated Going Straight Into The Last Of Us Part III After Part II

Naughty Dog Debated Going Straight Into The Last Of Us Part III After Part II

by admin September 12, 2025

Naughty Dog president and The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann has seemingly revealed that The Last of Us Part III is, at the very least, an idea that’s been floated at the studio. In a new interview with Variety, Druckmann says Naughty Dog debated going straight into Part III after completing Part II, but that ultimately, the team decided to move forward on what we now know as Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

While a Part III to The Last of Us seems like a no-brainer, considering how well this franchise does for Naughty Dog and PlayStation, Druckmann has given mixed signals over the years. When The Last of Us Part II Remastered dropped last year, it eventually included Grounded II, a documentary about the making of the game.

Near the end of it, Druckmann said, “For years now, I haven’t been able to find that concept [for Part III], but recently, that’s changed, and I don’t have a story, but I do have a conept that to me is as exciting as 1, as exciting as 2, is its own thing, and yet has this throughline for all three. So it does feel like there’s probably one more chapter to this story.”

But then, in a March 2025 Variety interview, Druckmann, when asked about a potential Part III, said, “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t be on there being more of The Last of Us. This could be it.”

Now, in a new interview with Variety, Druckmann has seemingly revealed that Naughty Dog, at one point, had plans regarding a Part III game in its Last of Us franchise.

When asked about potential Intergalactic sequels, Druckmann said, “We don’t tend to plan too much in the future, because we find – and this is something I inherited, it’s just the Naughty Dog culture – that we do our best work when it’s something we’re really excited about, really passionate about.

“Just to give you an example, when we finished The Last of Us Part II, and that was highly successful for us, we were debating whether we should just go straight into The Last of Us 3, and we had a really long period where we looked at ideas for maybe what could be in that game.”

The team looked at Uncharted, Jak and Daxter, and its “sci-fi thing,” though, and Druckmann said what is now Intergalactic is where the team’s passion led it.

So for now, it sounds like a third Last of Us game is on the theoretical or potential table as Naughty Dog continues work on Intergalactic.

For more, read Druckmann’s thoughts on the casting and gameplay of Intergalactic, and then check out Game Informer’s interview with Druckmann on the set of The Last of Us Season 2.

This robot lawnmower is designed to pick fruit and throw your dog a ball

by admin September 5, 2025

Plenty of autonomous lawnmowers have been showcased or introduced at this year’s IFA event in Berlin, but only one of them comes equipped with a robotic arm. NexLawn, a sub-brand of MOVA that sits under its Dreame parent company, has announced the Master X Series Concept, which it describes as “the first robotic mower with a fully functional mechanical arm.”

That arm is designed to help reduce the amount of manual maintenance that’s required for people who own and run robot lawnmowers, such as picking up any fallen sticks or debris that could damage the bot or force it to navigate around the obstacle. The arm folds down to 44.5 cm (about 17.5 inches) in length, extends up to 77 cm (a little over 30 inches), and can reach as far as one meter away when performing outdoor tasks. NexLawn says it features multiple interchangeable arm attachments, including a multi-gripper, a trimmer head, and an edging disc head, with more in development.

The Master X Series Concept is capable of “trimming, weeding, fruit picking, and even pet interaction,” according to NexLawn’s press release. A 3D animated video demo shows the mower throwing a ball for a dog, for example, though it’s hard to picture a pooch that would engage positively with such a visibly not human-looking device.

The inclusion of “Concept” in its name indicates that this isn’t a consumer-ready product you can actually go out and buy, but some concept products do eventually evolve into something tangible. NexLawn hasn’t mentioned a price or release timeline, however, so any potential launch will likely be a ways off.
