by admin August 29, 2025

If you’re curious about who brings the characters of Destiny Rising to life, you’ve come to the right place.

This guide covers every confirmed voice actor so far, along with the controversy that’s had fans talking. During the Closed Alpha, players noticed some dialogue was voiced by AI instead of people, which felt off and sparked major backlash.

Below, you’ll find the full list of Destiny: Rising’s human voice talent, plus details on the AI debate, so you can stay informed on both the performances and the conversation.

Destiny Rising’s AI voice controversy, explained

Destiny: Rising Players quickly noticed that not all dialogue was delivered by human actors. Some lines were filled in with AI-generated voices, creating a strange mix of lively performances and flat, robotic ones. The result? An experience that felt awkward and, to many, disrespectful.

Fans and industry professionals pushed back hard, arguing that even “temporary” AI use chips away at the work of real voice actors. With the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes already highlighting fears about AI replacing human talent, the decision struck a nerve.

Developer NetEase clarified that these AI voices were just placeholders and promised they’ll be replaced by real actors in the final game. Still, the damage was done, and the move sparked distrust and fed into bigger debates about the role of AI in gaming, especially when it comes to protecting creative jobs.

Bungie Boss Leaves Halo And Destiny Studio After 23 Years

by admin August 22, 2025

Bungie CEO Pete Parsons is leaving after 23 years. Fellow veteran Justin Truman will take over as the storied Halo studio struggles with flagging interest in Destiny 2, the delayed launch of Marathon, and a painful Sony integration following a sky-high $3.6 billion acquisition back in 2022.

“After more than two decades of helping build this incredible studio, establishing the Bungie Foundation, and growing inspiring communities around our work, I have decided to pass the torch,” Parsons wrote in a blog post over on Bungie’s website. “This journey has been the honor of a lifetime. I am deeply proud of the worlds we’ve built together and the millions of players who call them home – and most of all I am privileged by the opportunity to work alongside the incredible minds at Bungie.”

Parsons joined Bungie back in 2002 and was an executive producer on Halo 2. He took over the studio when previous CEO Harold Ryan left in 2016, the year before Destiny 2 shipped. He helped engineer the studio’s exit from a publishing deal with Activision in 2019, and Bungie continued to grow amid near-annual expansions for the hit sci-fi loot shooter.

But things began to change after selling to Sony in 2022. Bungie’s expertise in multiplayer games didn’t stop PlayStation’s live service strategy from quickly going sideways, and the studio suffered mass layoffs in both 2023 and 2024, with key talent departing, including veteran designers Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy, after a Destiny spin-off codenamed Payback was reportedly canceled.

IGN reported that a “soul-crushing” atmosphere among some staff in late 2023, amid the first round of cuts, as Bungie’s independence within Sony began to crumble following the declining fortunes of Destiny 2. Parsons came under fire during the 2024 layoffs after listings for his sports car collection indicated millions in purchases following the lucrative 2022 sale to Sony, even as rank-and-file staff were given pink slips.

“When I was asked to lead Bungie in 2015, my goal was to grow us into a studio capable of creating and sustaining iconic, generation-spanning entertainment,” Parsons wrote in his goodbye post. “We’ve been through so much together: we launched a bold new chapter for Destiny, built an enviable, independent live ops organization capable of creating and publishing its own games, and joined the incredible family at Sony Interactive Entertainment.”

More recently, Bungie has faced an uphill battle with Marathon, the extraction shooter revival of one of its oldest franchises. The game was supposed to come out in September but was indefinitely delayed following a middling reception to a closed alpha earlier this year and a plagiarized art scandal that saw the team forced to overhaul marketing assets, including trailers, to remove elements created by an outside artist.

Truman, a 15-year veteran of Bungie, began working at the studio on the original Destiny. He admitted to some of the studio’s recent fumbles but said it remains committed to “create worlds that inspire friendship.” “I’ve also been part of these efforts at Bungie when we’ve maybe not been at our best,” Truman wrote. “When we’ve stumbled and realized through listening to our community that we had missed the mark. I know I’ve personally learned a lot over the years, as have all of us here, from those conversations.”

He added, “We are hard at work right now doing that–both with Marathon and Destiny. We’re currently heads down, but we’ll have more to show you in both of these worlds later this year.”

Unwavering Duty god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

by admin August 19, 2025

Among many new weapons added to Destiny 2 in The Edge of Fate, there are also a couple of reissued ones. One weapon long overdue for an update is the Unwavering Duty machine gun, which is probably one of the best-sounding weapons in the game.

Unwavering Duty is an Adaptive Frame Solar machine gun from Trials of Osiris. Adaptive Frame machine guns are arguably the most versatile archetype among machine guns – they’re great for PvP with their steady rate of fire, and potent in PvE at 450 RPM.

Here are our Unwavering Duty god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

What is the Unwavering Duty god roll in Destiny 2?

A million and one combination. Screenshot by Dot Esports

Unwavering Duty PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk one: Incandescent
  • Perk two: Onslaught or Killing Tally
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Unwavering Duty PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk one: Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Perk two: Killing Tally
  • Masterwork: Range

Unwavering Duty has endless perk combinations for PvE. In the third column, there are Incandescent and Rampage. Rampage is a solid perk granting a damage buff of up to 33 percent, but Incandescent is a better choice for AoE and Solar synergies, as it spreads scorch.

You could also go with the reload perk in the third column. There’s Envious Assassin, Auto-loading Holster, and perks refunding ammo like Subsistence and Fourth Time’s the Charm. If you do that, an Appended Mag would be a better option than a Flared Magwell, since you don’t need to reload as much.

In the fourth column, Killing Tally is a classic choice for machine guns like Commemoration. The damage increases as you get kills, up to 30 percent. There is also Burning Ambition for more Solar synergy, but Incandescent is often more than enough, so you can go for raw damage instead.

Unwavering Duty has some of the best PvP perks, too. There’s Dynamic Sway Reduction in the third column to improve accuracy and stability when holding down the trigger. In the fourth column, Killing Tally is still the best choice to get a five percent damage buff after a kill, reducing the time-to-kill from 0.53 seconds to 0.4 seconds. There is Target Lock in the fourth column, but it doesn’t shift the time-to-kill values at all like it does on primary weapons like Auric Disabler.

As before, Unwavering Duty drops from Trials of Osiris. Post The Edge of Fate expansion, there’s no way to focus rewards at Saint-14. Instead, it’s all based on RNG, but you have a higher chance of getting a machine gun when it’s the featured weapon.

To get Tier 4 and Tier 5 drops in Trials of Osiris, you need to increase your Power level and Guardian Rank. Both affect your drops, including rewards from the Lighthouse chest. At 300+ Power, you can expect Tier 3 drops with occasional Tier 4s, and above 400 Power, you get Tier 4 drops with occasional Tier 5s.
