Amazon Echo Show 8 Slashed to Year’s Lowest Price, Even Lower With Extra Trade-In Savings Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days

by admin October 2, 2025

We’re inching closer to the second Prime Day of the year, and it’s a great time to invest in smart home devices. Amazon has started the celebration early, and we’ve just spotted the newest Amazon Echo Show 8 going for $100 on it.

It’s a straightforward $50 discount – no coupon codes required. Even better, if you already own an Echo device, you can trade it in for an extra 20% off on top of the discount. The offer is available on both black and white color options, but it ends soon, so you might want to act fast to grab it.

Improved Screen, Better Sound

Echo Shows have always been more than just great displays. This one packs a stunning 8-inch HD touchscreen that pushes vibrant, true-to-life visuals. The screen is paired with room-filling spatial audio, so there’s no need for external speakers to enjoy great sound, whether you’re watching a video or just vibing to your favorite song. There’s support for Netflix, Prime Video, Fire TV Channels, and more, so entertainment options are also plenty.

The solid 13 MP front camera with auto-framing keeps you centered during video calls, while built-in noise reduction makes sure you’re heard clearly on the other end. Of course, smart home compatibility is top-notch. Those with devices that support Zigbee, Matter, or Thread can pair and control them directly using just their voice. Need to dim the lights, but five steps to the switch feel like two miles? Just ask Echo Show to handle it. Doorbell just rang, and you want to see who’s there without getting up? Say the word.

And when not in use, Echo Show 8 smartly doubles as a digital picture frame, so you can keep your favorite moments close! You also have the option to invite your family and friends to share photos on the device – a great way to stay connected.

Setting up the whole thing and getting started is fairly simple. It sits well pretty much anywhere, but if you want better angles or prefer it at eye level, you might want to invest in a dedicated stand (sold separately). All in all, the Echo Show 8 brings a lot of convenience to your day-to-day tasks, especially if you’re looking to manage all your smart home devices in one place. This version brings better video and sound quality, and can now be yours for just $100. Be sure to grab it before it’s too late.

Twin Peaks: From Z To A Complete Series Collection Discounted For Prime Big Deal Days

by admin October 2, 2025

Twin Peaks is one of the most memorable TV series of all time. Created by the late David Lynch, who died earlier this year, Twin Peaks was a hit in both the early ’90s and in 2017 when Showtime revived the groundbreaking series for a third season.

As mentioned, From Z to A is a one-stop shop. You’ll get all 30 episodes of the original two-season run, the aforementioned 1992 prequel film, and the 2017 revival that ran on Showtime for 18 episodes. That’s 48 episodes of superb TV and an awesome feature film in one package.

  • Season 1 (1990) — 8 Episodes
  • Season 2 (1990-91) — 22 Episodes
  • Season 3 (2017) — 18 Episodes
  • Fire Walk with Me (1992) – Prequel movie

You’ll also get a long list of special features, including 4K versions of the original series Pilot episode and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series Episode 8. Here’s a look at the highlights:

Twin Peaks: From Z to A Special Features

  • The Missing Pieces: Fire Walk with Me deleted/alternate scenes (90 minutes)
  • Behind The Curtain: Making of Footage From Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series
  • Full-length versions of all Roadhouse Bar music performances
  • A Talk with Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee
  • On the Couch with Kimmy and Harry
  • 4K versions of the Original Series Pilot and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series Episode 8
  • Additional special features from previous Twin Peaks home releases

In total, that’s over 20 hours of additional Twin Peaks content. It’s worth noting that the packaging for this Twin Peaks: From Z to A reprinting differs from the original 2019 version. The new edition uses a plastic case rather than the premium fold-out box of the original, and it lacks the collectible art prints. This cost-saving measure probably makes producing the sets easier, which hopefully means this reprint run will remain in print longer. It’s no longer a collector’s item like the original release, but it does offer an affordable way to watch the entire series on Blu-ray.

This Toshiba 55-Inch 4K Fire TV Is Only $200 For Prime Big Deal Days

by admin October 1, 2025

You don’t have to wait for Prime Big Deal Days to kick off on October 7 to start saving, as the Toshiba 55-Inch Class C350 LED Smart Fire 4K TV is already down to its lowest price ever at Amazon. The LED TV is just $200 (was $400), and several other sizes are also discounted ahead of the shopping event–including nice price cuts on the 75-inch and 65-inch variants. Despite being official Big Deal Days early offers, these budget-friendly Toshiba 4K TVs are shipped and sold by Best Buy

$200 (was $400)

This LED 4K TV offers AI upscaling for non-4K content, support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and an Ultimate Motion feature that’s said to reduce blur during fast-moving scenes. It has a dedicated Game Mode with variable refresh rates and reduced latency. Just keep in mind that the C350 is limited to 60Hz refresh rate.

As a Fire TV, you’ll have quick access to popular apps and streaming services. The TV also includes a Voice Remote with Alexa, allowing you to use voice commands to find your favorite content.

The 55-inch model is seeing the best deal, as it’s a full 50% off its usual asking price. In fact, it’s cheaper than the 50-inch model (which is $220). But if this size isn’t right for your space, there are several other options to choose from, including a 65-inch for only $300 and 75-inch for $430. Note that the 55-inch discount is exclusive to Prime members.

Toshiba Class C350 LED Smart Fire 4K TV

Several other Amazon devices are on sale ahead of Big Deal Days, including Luna Controllers, security cameras, and smart displays. There’s also a long list of other Fire TV devices up for grabs, including the Fire TV Stick HD, Fire TV Stick 4K, and Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Both are capable of turning your HD TV into a smart TV, though the 4K Max is the most compelling due to its support for Wi-Fi 6E, additional storage, and included Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced.

For something even more premium than the Fire TV Stick, check out the Fire TV Cube, which offers everything you’d find on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max plus access to a hands-free Alexa system, inputs for additional devices (like your cable box or gaming consoles), and an ethernet port.

Consider pairing your Fire TV with the Fire TV Soundbar or Soundbar Plus. The Soundbar Plus is the better option right now, as it’s seeing an impressive $100 price cut. The 3.1 channel device features a built-in subwoofer, supports Dolby Atmos, and offers a dialogue enhancer feature for improved clarity. The standard TV Soundbar, meanwhile, doesn’t include a subwoofer but is a nice step up from most built-in TV speakers.

Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

And if you want some movies to watch on your new 4K TV, Amazon has a bunch of 4K Blu-rays for $15 or less as part of its early Prime Big Deal Days sale.

Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga agree on 2-year, $48.5 million deal

by admin October 1, 2025

Ending a summerlong stalemate, restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $48.5 million deal to return to the Golden State Warriors, agent Aaron Turner of Verus Basketball told ESPN on Tuesday.

The deal includes a team option in the second year that is designed for the Warriors — or another team if and when Kuminga is traded during the upcoming season — to rip up and complete a fresh new contract after the 2025-26 campaign, sources said.

Also Tuesday, the Warriors agreed to a one-year deal with free agent Seth Curry, sources told ESPN, teaming Stephen Curry with his younger brother as training camp begins Wednesday. However, the Warriors cannot enter the season with 15 standard players on the roster unless they make a trade, but Seth Curry is expected to be on the roster for the majority of the campaign.

Ahead of Wednesday’s qualifying offer deadline, Kuminga chose the two-year deal over a proposal of three years and $75 million so he can maintain a higher level of control over his immediate Warriors future. The Warriors never wavered on their team option frameworks during negotiations. Now, both sides understand the likelihood of exploring trades when Kuminga is eligible to be moved in mid-January. As part of the deal, he is waiving his inherent no-trade clause.

Kuminga missed media day Monday and the first day of Warriors practice Tuesday as the sides finalized the deal.

1 Related

Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Kuminga’s side have been locked in a stalemate throughout the offseason over the framework of the contract, but Golden State ultimately increased its two-year offer by a total of $8 million between July and September and guaranteed Kuminga approximately $15 million more than his one-year, $8 million qualifying offer would have for this season.

Over the past two months, the Warriors have had a standing offer of two years and $45 million with a team option, and earlier this month offered a three-year, $75 million contract with a team option and a three-year, $54 million fully guaranteed deal. Kuminga and his side wanted a player option throughout the negotiations, or a higher annual salary with a team option, requests that were denied by the Warriors.

Choosing the two-year structure allows Kuminga to create a decision for whichever team he is on next summer or get to 2027 unrestricted free agency.

The Warriors made a jump to $48.5 million total over two years in the latest and last round of these drawn-out negotiations. Kuminga’s deal becomes the fourth-highest salary on the Warriors’ books next season behind Curry, Jimmy Butler III and Draymond Green, escalating the team’s luxury tax penalty by $70 million to a total of over $80 million.

By signing Kuminga to a salary of $22.5 million next season, Golden State will still have the flexibility to use its $5.7 million taxpayer midlevel exception and sign two players to the veteran’s minimum. Gary Payton II signed a one-year, veteran’s minimum contract with the Warriors on Monday, and Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton and rookie Will Richard have agreed to deals, too.

Jonathan Kuminga’s two-year deal with the Warriors comes with the understanding that trades will be explored when Kuminga is eligible to be moved in mid-January. Noah Graham/NBAE via Getty Images

The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings were the strongest suitors for Kuminga in trade talks, with the largest sign-and-trade offer coming via the Suns as a four-year, nearly $90 million deal with a player option, sources said. The Warriors never showed interest in either team’s trade proposal, however, declining concepts of Royce O’Neale and second-round picks from the Suns and Malik Monk and a protected first-round pick from the Kings.

Kuminga was largely out of the rotation in the Warriors’ first-round series against the Houston Rockets, playing just 50 minutes total across seven games, including four that he sat out due to coach’s decision. He averaged six points on 30.4% shooting against Houston. However, Kuminga shined in the Warriors’ Western Conference semifinals series against the Minnesota Timberwolves with Curry sidelined. He averaged 20.8 points on 54.3% shooting against the Timberwolves, including three straight games scoring over 20 points to end the series.

Kuminga has led the Warriors in paint points per game in each of the past two seasons as he averaged 10 points in the paint in 2023-24 and 8.5 last season, per ESPN Research — a major boost for a team that was fifth worst in paint points last season. Among players from the 2021 draft class, Kuminga ranks fifth in points per 36 minutes (minimum 150 games).

Kuminga is also one of eight players with 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds from the 2021 draft class, and he is one of five players to score 3,000 points before turning 23 in Warriors history.

Kuminga has shown an ability to raise his performance when the Warriors are missing a key cog, increasing his scoring average from 14.1 points in games Curry played to 19.6 points in 10 games without Curry, which was second on the team in this situation behind only 20 points per night from Butler, who played just three contests without Curry. Kuminga also increased his shooting percentage from 44.5% with Curry to 48.2% without him.

Kuminga becomes the third restricted free agent to find a resolution in September, after Cam Thomas signed a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer to return to the Brooklyn Nets and Josh Giddey reached a four-year, $100 million deal to stay with the Chicago Bulls. Philadelphia’s Quentin Grimes remains the final outstanding restricted free agent.

Entering free agency this summer, only a few teams had salary cap space, which created a freeze for the restricted market. The Nets have operated as the only team with real salary cap space for the majority of the offseason.

IREN stock price could soar
NFT Gaming

Here’s why IREN stock jumped after the CoreWeave and Meta Platforms deal

by admin September 30, 2025

IREN stock price jumped by more than 2% and approached its all-time high after a major $14 billion deal between Meta Platforms and CoreWeave and after a bullish report on AI spending from Citi.

Summary

  • IREN stock price soared after a big deal between Meta Platforms and CoreWeave.
  • Meta will buy AI computing power from CoreWeave in a $14 billion deal.
  • IREN jumped as investors predicted a similar deal with a hyperscaler.

IREN, a popular Bitcoin (BTC) mining company, jumped to $46.80, a few points below the all-time high of $49. It has advanced by 870% from its lowest level this year, bringing its market capitalization to more than $14 billion.

IREN shares jumped after Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and WhatsApp, inked a $14 billion deal with CoreWeave. Meta will take advantage of CoreWeave’s infrastructure to accelerate its AI development.

The deal came a few weeks after Microsoft reached a similar deal with Nebius. Therefore, IREN stock is soaring as investors anticipate similar deals in the coming months as it ramps up construction of its AI data centers.

In a report published today, Citigroup raised its estimate of AI data center spending. The Wall Street bank now expects that technology giants will spend $2.8 trillion on AI data centers by 2029, up from its previous estimate of $2.3 trillion.

Citi also expects that the top hyperscalers, such as Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Google, will spend $490 billion by the end of 2026, up from the previous estimate of $420 billion.

If these estimates are correct, it means that companies providing AI infrastructure solutions, such as IREN, will continue to perform well in the foreseeable future.

In a recent statement, IREN said that it had doubled its AI cloud to 23k Nvidia and AMD GPUs as it seeks to become a major player in the industry. Its near-term target is to have about 60,000 GPUs.

Most importantly, it hopes to reach an annualized run rate of $500 million by Q1 2026, a large figure for a segment that generated just $7 million in revenue in the last quarter.

IREN stock price technical analysis

IREN stock chart | Source: crypto.news

The daily timeframe chart shows that the IREN share price has been in a strong uptrend over the past few months, moving from a low of $4.96 in April to $46 today, bringing its market capitalization to more than $12 billion.

IREN’s share price has remained significantly above all moving averages, while the rising Average Directional Index shows that the trend is gaining momentum.

However, IREN’s stock has become highly overbought as the Relative Strength Index and Stochastics have risen.

Therefore, the most likely scenario is that the stock continues rising as AI momentum accelerates and as traders wait for a potential deal with a hyperscaler. However, a smaller pullback cannot be ruled out in the near term as investors begin to book profits.

This Prime Day deal gets you two Blink Mini 2 cameras for only $35

by admin September 30, 2025

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are coming up, and you can get a jump on things today. A mainstay of Prime Day sales, a pair of Blink Mini 2 cameras is on sale for only $35. That’s 50 percent off, a record low and less than what you’d usually pay for one. It’s also Engadget’s pick for the best budget security camera.

This is the newest (2024) model of Blink’s budget wired model. The camera is well-suited for nighttime video: It has a built-in LED spotlight, color night vision and a low-light sensor. Day or night, it records in sharp 1080p resolution. It also has a wider field of view than its predecessor.

Blink

The Blink Mini 2 is primarily designed for indoor use. But you can use it outdoors, too. You’ll just need to fork over $10 for a weather-resistant adapter. Wherever you use the camera, it works with Alexa and supports two-way audio. (“Hello, doggy, I’ll be home soon.”)

It also supports person detection. (That’s a neat feature that differentiates between people and other types of movement.) However, the feature requires a Blink Subscription Plan. They start at $3 per month or $30 per year for one device.

The camera is available in black or white. Both colors are available for the $35 Prime Day deal, but they can’t be mixed unless you buy each separately. It’s worth noting that this deal is open to anyone — no Prime subscription necessary. You can also save on a bunch of other Blink (and Ring) security gear. The Blink Outdoor 4 cameras are some of our favorites, and most configurations are on sale for Prime Day, including bundles like this three-camera system that’s 61 percent off.

EA private acquisition deal expected to go smoothly, says report, as “what regulator is going to say no to the president’s son-in-law?”

by admin September 30, 2025

The $55bn private acquisition of EA is expected to run smoothly, the Financial Times has reported, due to the influence of Jared Kushner and Saudi Arabia on The White House.

The acquisition announced yesterday will see a group of investors comprising Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and investment firms Silver Lake and Affinity Partners, acquiring EA, the publisher known for its sports games, BioWare’s RPGs, The Sims, and many more.

Though the acquisition won’t be completed until Q1 FY27, a report from The FT suggests it won’t face much opposition.

That’s due to Saudi Arabia being considered a key ally to the US, as well as the involvement of President Trump’s son-in-law Kushner, CEO of Affinity Partners.

“Kushner has a personal relationship and he has deep ties in Saudi Arabia. He is very comfortable operating in the Middle East. It created a basis of trust,” a person briefed on the talks told the FT.

Another source stated: “We are in a regulatory environment that is welcoming of [Saudi Arabia]. We are not in what was the previous regime.”

“What regulator is going to say no to the president’s son-in-law?” stated another source close to the inner workings of the Trump administration.

The involvment of Saudi Arabia’s PIF is controversial, due to the country’s ruler Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairing the fund. He’s been blamed by the CIA for the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and has upheld the country’s notoriously poor human rights record.

While the last big video game acquisition – Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard – was met with opposition, it seems this latest deal for EA will be less contested.

Eurogamer has contacted the US Federal Trade Commission for comment on EA’s private acquisition.

In a further report from the FT, it’s suggested the deal is a huge bet that AI can significantly cut EA’s operating costs.

The $55bn buyout is backed by $36bn in equity and $20bn in JPMorgan debt, which EA will need to cover. AI will therefore be a key factor in cutting costs, according to sources involved in the transaction.

Last year, EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated AI is “the very core of our business” at the company’s Investor Day 2024. “For years we have talked about our games delivering experiences that are always new and different,” he said. “We predict that with generative AI we will truly be able to fulfil this promise for billions of people for billions and billions of hours.”

One area of AI innovation for the company is efficiency, which Wilson described as not just about cost saving but “doing what we do today faster, cheaper, and at a higher quality”.

With the growing reputation of AI tools being used across the games industry, no doubt this presentation proved influential in the eventual acquisition by private investors.

In a statement to employees yesterday, Wilson stated EA’s “values and our commitment to players and fans around the world remain unchanged”. However, the deal has sparked fear among fans for the future of EA’s most queer-friendly franchises, including The Sims, Mass Effect, and Apex Legends, due to the involvement of Saudi Arabia.

Amazon Fire Max 11 Tablet Hits Lowest Price Yet Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, Hundreds Cheaper Than an iPad

Amazon Fire Max 11 Tablet Hits Lowest Price Yet Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, Hundreds Cheaper Than an iPad

by admin September 30, 2025

We’d be telling you that this limited-time deal on the Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet is hot, or that it’s fire, or that it’s a scorcher, but honestly, would you still respect us in the morning? So we’ll dispense with the terrible puns and cut straight to the deal, because it’s one of the better ones we’ve seen in a while on this great, affordable tablet. It’s 32% off for a limited time, turning a very good $280 price into a great one at just $190.

To put things in perspective, the Amazon Fire Max 11 is an 11-inch tablet with an octa-core processor, 14-hour battery life, expandable storage of up to 1TB via microSD card, and 2.4 million pixel resolution. As an Amazon product it blends seamlessly with the rest of the Amazon ecosystem, including Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, and Luna, along with your smart home devices via either Alexa or the Device Dashboard. And here’s the kicker — at this sale price it’s over $700 less than the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro, and $375 less than the 11-inch M3 iPad Air.

See at Amazon

Premium Features, Not Price

There are probably metrics and benchmark tests that put those pricier iPads ahead of the Fire Max 11, but not nearly enough to quantify the price difference. The octa-core processor at the heard of the Fire Max 11 is certainly no slouch when it comes to streaming, multitasking, and gaming on Luna. The 128GB of storage is small, but so easily and inexpensively expandable thanks to the microSD card slot that the Apple tablets lack.

Wi-Fi 6 speeds, a robust 14-hour battery life, 8MP camera, and options to expand into a more laptop-like experience with the sold-separately Fire Max 11 Keyboard Case — which also happens to be way more affordable than Apple’s Magic Keyboard — all make the Fire Max 11 highly competitive even before you do a price comparison. Once you check out those numbers, this isn’t even a fair contest.

Beautifully Basic

When you look at the Fire Max 11 — and this is the latest, most updated iteration of the Fire Max — in the context of being a fully integrated part of the massive Amazon ecosystem, it’s a brilliant tablet, especially for just $190. It’s not going to compete with a laptop as a productivity machine, although this deal does come with a free 3-month Microsoft 365 trial, but as an e-reader, streaming device, smart-home control panel, and light gaming device, it’s an exceptional tablet.

This model of the Amazon Fire Max currently on sale for just $190 has the max 128GB storage and also comes with lockscreen ads deactivated. The $90 savings on this deal are great, and even greater when you tack them onto the hundreds you save by avoiding the super-bougie competitor tablets.

EA privately acquired in $55bn deal by group of investors, including Saudi Arabia’s investment fund and Donald Trump’s son-in-law

by admin September 30, 2025

EA has officially been acquired by a group of investors including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in a private transaction worth $55bn.

EA chairman and CEO Andrew Wilson will continue to lead the company – known for its sports games, BioWare’s RPGs, The Sims, and forthcoming shooter Battlefield 6 – with the transaction expected to be completed in Q1 FY27.

News of the acquisition came over the weekend, before an official announcement today. The investor group comprises the PIF, as well as investment firms Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.

“Our creative and passionate teams at EA have delivered extraordinary experiences for hundreds of millions of fans, built some of the world’s most iconic IP, and created significant value for our business. This moment is a powerful recognition of their remarkable work,” said Wilson.

“Looking ahead, we will continue to push the boundaries of entertainment, sports, and technology, unlocking new opportunities. Together with our partners, we will create transformative experiences to inspire generations to come. I am more energised than ever about the future we are building.”

“Electronic Arts is an extraordinary company with a world-class management team and a bold vision for the future. I’ve admired their ability to create iconic, lasting experiences, and as someone who grew up playing their games – and now enjoys them with his kids – I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead,” said Jared Kushner, CEO of Affinity Partners. Kushner is US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law.

PIF increased its stake in EA in 2023; now its 9.9 percent stake will roll over. The organisation also holds stakes in a number of gaming companies including Nintendo, Take-Two Interactive, Embracer, Capcom, and more.

Ubisoft is another, with Assassin’s Creed Mirage set to receive a surprise free DLC set in 9th century AlUla, an ancient Arabian city. The DLC follows reported funding from PIF.

The PIF was designed to diversify Saudi Arabia’s revenue via investment in foreign companies. It’s chaired by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the country’s controversial ruler blamed by the CIA for the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who has upheld the country’s notoriously poor human rights record.
