XLM Rallies 4% as Stellar Breaks Critical $0.40 Resistance Barrier

by admin October 2, 2025

Stellar’s XLM rose 4% in the past 24 hours, climbing from $0.39 to $0.40 with a brief push above $0.41. Trading volumes surged to more than double the daily average, establishing support at $0.40 and resistance near $0.41, signaling potential consolidation before the next move.

The rally followed Bitcoin.com Wallet’s integration of Stellar, giving millions of users access to its low-cost, fast payment network and DeFi tools. The news coincided with heightened volatility as XLM repeatedly tested the $0.41 level while holding key support.

Institutional demand is also fueling momentum, with traditional finance showing growing interest in blockchain-based payments. Strong volume during the breakout highlights rising market engagement as XLM pushes through psychological resistance zones.

Short-term action reinforced this trend: between 13:11 and 14:10 UTC on October 2, XLM briefly spiked to $0.41 on trading volumes nearly double the hourly average, underscoring robust bullish sentiment despite near-term resistance.

Garbage in, Agentic out: why data and document quality is critical to autonomous AI’s success

by admin October 1, 2025

There is a lot of optimism about the future of agentic AI because it promises to drive higher levels of digital transformation by autonomously handling complex, multi-step tasks with accuracy, speed, and scalability.

Much of the buzz around AI agents is due to their ability to make decisions without human intervention, freeing up skilled talent for strategic work, and scaling decision-making without adding headcount.

That said, how can companies go beyond the hype to gain a better understanding of how agentic AI can drive higher efficiency and return on investment?

You may like

According to PwC, there is growing interest translating into IT investments in agentic AI. In its May 2025 survey, 88% of respondents said their team or line of business plans to increase AI-related budgets in the next year because of agentic AI.

Scott Francis

Technology Evangelist at PFU America, Inc.

And 79% reported AI agents are already being adopted in their companies, and of those that have adopted agents, two-thirds (66%) claim they’re delivering measurable value through increased productivity.

But there are some clouds on the horizon: Gartner predicts that more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027 due to escalating costs, unclear business value, or inadequate risk controls.

However, done right, and with proper preparation, agentic AI has the potential to be far more disruptive than generative AI because of its direct impact on business KPIs such as cost reduction, faster decision-making, and task completion.

Agents driving healthcare transformation

Early-adopter use cases are already showing promise. Take Nvidia for example. The AI innovator is developing an enterprise AI platform to create task-specific AI agents, including one for The Ottawa Hospital that will handle patients’ pre-operative questions 24/7.

This includes providing details on how to get ready for surgery, and on post-surgery recovery and rehabilitation. According to Kimberly Powell, vice president and general manager of healthcare at Nvidia, AI agents can save providers time and money, while also enhancing the patient experience.

However, the investment in agentic AI is a waste of time, money, and resources if the input models are receiving outdated, poor quality, or inaccurate data. In the case of The Ottawa Hospital agent in development, it relies on well-organized, accurate, up-to-date patient information to drive decision making and automate tasks.

You may like

Healthcare is just one potential use case for agentic AI. Businesses in almost any industry stand to benefit from improved efficiency through task automation, reduction in human error, and scaled decision making in applications ranging from customer support, procurement, IT operations, and more.

Data and document quality determine agentic AI effectiveness

Unlike GenAI — a very useful content creation tool — agentic AI acts autonomously, which is why data and document quality is even more imperative. The LLMs at the core of agents require clean, validated, and secure data because agents’ actions and decision making are only as good as the data and rules it’s given.

Agentic AI relies on structured data and digitized documents to make decisions, trigger workflows, or generate outputs. Bottom line: inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete data directly skews the logic the AI uses to act.

One scenario illustrating how agents can go terribly wrong is in bank loan applications. If the financial data from scanned forms or other inputs is outdated, it could lead the AI to approve a high-risk applicant, increasing the potential for bank losses.

For non-digital documentation, hard copies that have been scanned using old equipment with low resolution and poor image quality can confuse optical character recognition (OCR) and natural language processing (NLP) systems, leading the agent to misinterpret content.

Advanced, high-speed imaging scanners that rotate skewed documents, offer 300 DPI resolution, and utilize adaptive thresholding to enhance characters, remove stains, watermarks, and background noise are ideal for accurate OCR recognition – and more accurate results.

Data preparation makes all the difference

To stop autonomous agents from “hallucinating” or delivering poor decisions that may could impact operational efficiency, organizations should follow industry leading data management and retention best practices to prepare data sets prior introduction to an LLM, including:

  • Preprocess and clean data – Without consistently doing data “spring cleaning” even the most advanced AI will struggle and be less effective. It’s critical to remove duplicate documents and data, outdated versions, and corrupt files. Using AI for document classification, summarization, and cleanup dramatically speeds up the process while reducing manual effort. Even fixing typos, formatting issues, and inconsistent structures in scanned documents and PDFs will improve AI inputs, minimizing the potential for “garbage in, garbage out.”
  • Classify and tag documents – Once the data has been cleansed and processed, apply metadata labels — such as “sales presentation” or “HR training manual” — to documents for easier identification and then organize content into semantic categories relevant to business processes. Giving documents structure enables agents to gain a better understanding of context and relevance.
  • Preserve data confidentiality – It’s critical that all AI systems only have access to the data and documents they need, and nothing more. This also applies to the use of external APIs or tools. Sensitive, personal data that’s no longer needed should be sanitized and erased permanently to minimize risks related to data privacy, leakage, or compliance violations.
  • Test and analyze – Finally, run tests on sample prompts using smaller document sets and then analyze the outputs. Using feedback loops and refine data sources and formatting before scaling up occurs. This important step will enable IT teams to catch formatting issues, hallucinations, or data misinterpretations early.

The quality imperative and the future of agentic AI

There’s a lot riding on the promises of autonomous AI with spending projected to reach $155 billion by 2030. However, for agentic AI to be accurate, reliable, and support compliance, organizations must prioritize data and document quality.

By adopting best practices that prioritize clean, well-governed data, and clear documentation, organizations can ensure the AI agents they’re employing operate with precision and integrity. In a future shaped by autonomous systems, high-quality information isn’t just an asset, it’s a prerequisite for trusted and effective agentic output.

Bitcoin Price Reaches ‘Critical Junction’: How A Rally To $139,000 Would Play Out

by admin September 29, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The onslaught continues as the Bitcoin price has failed to make a meaningful bounce, and the bears have kept the price suppressed below $110,000 for the majority of the weekend. This has already triggered fear in the market, with the Fear and Greed Index falling into the Fear territory, marking a new 5-month low. From here, the next direction of the Bitcoin price carries a lot of weight for the entire market, and the point at which the cryptocurrency is sitting is a decision-making point.

Bitcoin Price Falls Into Critical Junction

According to crypto analyst Weslad, who posted an interesting analysis on the TradingView website, the Bitcoin price is now sitting at what could be considered a make-or-break level. This critical junction lies at a major supply zone, and with the strong supply at this point, a rejection could quickly follow.

The crypto analyst explains that the Bitcoin price is currently still holding above the key demand zone of $106,269-$108,715, which is still very bullish for the price. In fact, this has been historically known as a point where the Bitcoin bulls have often held, supporting and triggering the next wave of uptrends.

This means that the bulls will have to keep holding this demand zone if they want to maintain the primary uptrend. In the case of a successful hold and a subsequent bounce and breakout with strong momentum, it could put the Bitcoin price on a path to clearing its all-time high above $124,000.

Moving further away from this point, the crypto analyst believes it is possible that this bounce could send the Bitcoin price rallying toward the $135,627-$139,616 target zone. This would be an over 20% increase for the cryptocurrency.

Bears Could Still Take Control

While it does seem that the bulls are holding the primary uptrend while keeping the Bitcoin price above the demand zone of $106,269-$108,715, there is still the possibility of bears taking over from here. Weslad points to the recent rejection from the $117,000 supply zone as proof that sellers are still very much active in the market.

If the selling were to continue, then the pressure could press down the Bitcoin price further, putting the key demand support at risk. If the bears were able to successfully break below the demand zone of $106,269-$108,715, then the crypto analyst expects the price to continue to struggle.

A downtrend from here could trigger another 10% crash, and such a crash could see the Bitcoin price moving straight toward $98,384. This break would mean Bitcoin losing the $100,000 psychological level for the first time in more than three months.

Critical Role Releases Official Trailer for Campaign 4

by admin September 23, 2025

The new season of Critical Role is taking shape as they have released an official trailer for the highly anticipated next season:

Critical Role, a leader in storytelling and world building, today officially released the trailer for Campaign 4, the highly anticipated next chapter in its flagship series. Premiering Thursday, October 2, the new campaign will introduce a new world, a new cast featuring a rotating tables format, and, for the first time in Critical Role’s core campaign, a brand new Game Master. After three beloved campaigns set in the fantasy world of Exandria featuring the stories of Vox Machina (Campaign 1), The Mighty Nein (Campaign 2), and Bells Hells (Campaign 3), Critical Role is making a bold leap to an entirely new world called Aramán, marking a major evolution for the franchise. This campaign will also follow a stellar extended cast of players including Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, Luis Carazo, Robbie Daymond, Aabria Iyengar, Whitney Moore, and Alexander Ward, with Brennan Lee Mulligan weaving this new saga as Game Master.Using the updated 2024 rules for Dungeons & Dragons, mixed with some homebrew elements from renowned creatives Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford, Campaign 4 sets the stage for a world on the brink. A hero to many, and enemy to some, when Thjazi Fang is marked for execution, various figures from across his remarkable life unite to uncover the truth behind his grim fate.

Against this backdrop, the cast will traverse the new world of Aramán in a West Marches-style approach to gameplay where the story unfolds through the perspectives of three distinct rotating tables: the valiant Soldiers, the vigorous Seekers, and the veiled Schemers. As their paths converge, we’ll dive deeper into Aramán, a world of wonder with sorcery stemming from the graveyard of the gods and carrying forward the spirit of epic sagas reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.

In a land still suffering from the fallout of dead gods and living in the shadow of a tumultuous rebellion, these disparate people will come together across the fractured world of Aramán and connect in ways they never imagined. As hope and victory fade, a question hangs over Aramán. Without the Gods, what great deeds now fall to us? And who, or what, shall grab their crown for themselves?

Campaign 4 will premiere with instant access on Beacon.tv as well as streamed to Critical Role’s YouTube and Twitch channels on October 2, with the VOD available for everyone the following Monday and podcast episodes available in two parts: the first one week after the premiere, and the second on the following Tuesday. Beacon members will also get exclusive access to all episodes of Critical Role Cooldown for Campaign 4, where the cameras keep rolling and you get a front row seat to the cast’s post-show reactions.

Shiba Inu Holders Warned Against This Critical Scam That Could Cost Them Money

by admin September 22, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The Shiba Inu community is once again on high alert following a new security warning shared by Susbarium, a Shibarium-focused scam alert account, on the social media platform X. The caution centers on an unusual yet increasingly dangerous scam involving the sale of Telegram usernames, which is a tactic that allows malicious actors to impersonate trusted members of the SHIB community.

Shiba Inu Holders Warned Against Telegram Scam

Scams and hacks are not new in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, but this one is raising concern because of how easily it can compromise credibility and trick unsuspecting holders. According to Susbarium, scammers are offering significant amounts of money to Shiba Inu community members in exchange for their Telegram usernames.

At first glance, this may seem harmless or even profitable. However, the true danger lies in what happens after the transaction. Once a trusted username changes hands, the buyer can impersonate the original account owner, use the reputation associated with the handle, and exploit the trust others have built with that identity. From there, these impersonators can scam others, spread misinformation, and even damage the reputation of the original owner who unknowingly handed over their credibility.

The risks of this scam extend beyond simple impersonation. Fake accounts with respected usernames can easily convince community members to click on malicious links, share wallet information, or participate in fraudulent token sales. This problem is especially concerning in Shiba Inu’s active ecosystem, as Telegram is a major hub for discussions and announcements.

The Susbarium warning emphasizes that selling usernames off-platform or through private deals creates a loophole for scammers. “Never sell your username through private messages or off platform deals,” Susbarium warned. Even legal sales through platforms like Fragment still raise questions of trust, since usernames play a crucial role in verifying credibility in online communities.

Growing Scams Threatening The Shiba Inu Ecosystem

Warnings about scams are not new to the Shiba Inu community, and multiple trusted accounts have repeatedly raised alarms about malicious actors. Earlier this year, Shibarium Trustwatch cautioned SHIB holders about fake X profiles designed to impersonate popular Shiba Inu marketing lead Lucie.

More recently, Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya issued another critical alert after identifying fake Discord servers circulating in the ecosystem. These fraudulent servers, which were styled to look like legitimate SHIB or Shibarium groups, were being used to spread harmful links and carry out wallet hacks.

One recent scam involved fake migration sites pushing a LEASH V2 migration through Telegram or phishing websites to trick Shiba Inu holders into approving wallet connections and transactions that drained funds. In response to this, the Shiba Inu team warned that any migration or contract change claims circulated outside official channels, such as the SHIB website or verified social profiles, should be treated as fraudulent.

Hollow Knight: Silksong | Critical Consensus

by admin September 19, 2025

At the end of August, fans of Hollow Knight were stunned to discover that its long-awaited sequel would drop in a matter of weeks.

After a long wait, Team Cherry released Hollow Knight: Silksong on September 4, 2025 to so much fanfare that it broke digital storefronts globally.

The game surpassed half a million concurrent players on Steam a day after its release, and sold over three million copies in three days on the platform, according to Alinea Analytics.

No review codes were sent out ahead of release, hence impressions coming in slowly. But all in all, it’s safe to say that Silksong has quickly become one of 2025’s biggest titles, currently sitting at a score of 92 on Metacritic for the PC version.

But how are critics faring in the fantastical (and unforgiving) world of Pharloom?

Playing as Hornet

Players were first introduced to Silksong’s protagonist Hornet in the original Hollow Knight, in which she was a recurring boss.

For PC Gamer’s Tyler Colp, who rated the game 90 out of 100, “the thrill of playing as Hornet is what really anchors Silksong as a brilliant action game above all else.”

Having access to a boss’s powerful skillset was the key appeal.

“[Silksong] improved on every core issue I ever had with Hollow Knight, then continued to improve on every issue I didn’t know I had”

Monica Phillips, Dualshockers

“When I wasn’t being clobbered, it felt like the table had turned,” Colp wrote. “Silksong sets the bar for mastery so high that you can only reach it for short bursts, but it’s a carrot worth chasing when pulling it off is so unbelievably satisfying.”

VGC’s Ashley Schofield, rating the game 3 out of 5, was particularly amazed by the “graceful movement” and “gorgeous motion” Hornet has in Silksong.

“Every input flows cleanly into one another,” Schofield wrote. “The joy of movement only heightens with the gradual unlocks of her dash, float, and wall jump abilities, giving a sense of freedom and precision to maneuvering around Pharloom.”

DualShockers’ Monica Phillips, who scored Silksong 9 out of 10, commended the improvements to Hornet’s moveset and the game’s overall gameplay.

“Silksong essentially has the same base gameplay as Hollow Knight, but it takes every mechanic and component that stems from that base and reworks, improves, and reimplements it in a way I’ve seen few sequels try to do before,” Phillips noted. “It feels like it improved on every core issue I ever had with Hollow Knight, then continued to improve on every issue I didn’t know I had.”

Increased difficulty

The difficulty of the sequel has been increased to match with Hornet’s more powerful combat abilities, but Rock Paper Shotgun’s James Archer felt the way Team Cherry implements this “is a bit blunt” – noting how enemies have a larger pool of health and bosses hit twice as hard.

But Dualshockers’ Phillips reveled in Silksong’s increased difficulty.

“As the game progresses, you’ll likely notice that it tends to kick your ass far quicker and harder than the original did,” they noted. “The message is clear: Learn the mechanics, master the dance, or die.”

“It’s typically a test of skill, knowledge, and patience. Every fight feels like a dance with death where you’re learning the steps on the spot, and the feeling is incredible. Mastering a boss’ pattern, getting a reward, and ending up feeling satisfied because of the struggle is a constant here.”

However, VGC’s Schofield found that while some bosses “feel like fair challenges of mechanical skill and memorisation”, Team Cherry’s “insistence” on increasing “player suffering” in Silksong tests the patience of players rather than their skills.

“Very few of the combat challenges are short frenetic engagements; instead, they’re drawn-out battles of attrition due to the incredibly high health of bosses and elite enemies alike,” she wrote. “There’s nothing inherently wrong with designing a game to make the player suffer, but there has to be more engaging approaches than empty time-wasting and pace-damaging sadism.”

Schofield complained that the extreme difficulty is “rarely interesting or rewarding,” and instead fills the player with a “tired, hollow relief that it’s over.”

PC Gamer’s Colp, however, found entertainment in the difficulty. “The diabolical commitment to knocking you on your ass in a world where everyone’s been knocked on their ass is what impresses me most about Silksong,” he said. “Not even a game as punishing as Elden Ring outright refuses to loosen its grip around your neck.”

While he felt the difficulty had purpose when he was able to step back and appreciate “how creative [its] boss fights can be,” he was aware that Silksong “doesn’t always get the balance between effort and reward right.”

“You’re not guaranteed to get anything after defeating a boss,” Colp noted. “For the first half, you’ll be lucky to find a bench to rest on that isn’t trying to kill you or take your money.”

Respawn points and runbacks

In Silksong, benches are spawn points that allow players to change Hornet’s combat equipment as well as to recover health. When she is defeated in combat, she will return to the last bench she sat on.

For most critics, the placement of these benches became a detriment due to how far apart they are placed between combat encounters.

Archer said he can see the point of these “runbacks” as a way of “penalising your carelessness” and to add “tension of having to fight or parkour your way back.”

“Except this tension thing doesn’t work because you can just dash over and under every non-boss enemy, and losing to a boss themselves already carries the punishment of not allowing you to play the game any further. In other words, they’re boring busywork, a fact that modern Souls and Soulslikes have increasingly got wise to.”

If it weren’t for the runbacks, Phillips said she’d have given Silksong a perfect score.

“There are tons of challenges that are incredibly designed, then there’s runbacks from benches that take several minutes of incredibly repetitive gameplay, enemies that can grab you and chink your entire health bar in seconds. It’s unforgiving, and while I adore that, it gets to a limit.”

For Schofield, worrying about respawn points and Hornet’s health makes “exploration feel [more] terrifying than exciting” – and not in a good way.

“Your brain [ends up] firmly grasping onto the memory of how long ago the last bench was rather than wondering what new discovery could lie past the next secretly breakable wall – a feeling entirely antithetical of the Metroidvania genre.”

Schofield also said that the fear of losing rosaries (the game’s currency) encourages players to fast travel to vendors, which “breaks the flow of exploration.”

“Grinding for currency and worrying about a stingy economy feels alien to the adventurous spirit of a Metroidvania, and is another example of Soulslike genre norms poisoning what could have been a freeing cycle of exploration.”

The beauty of Pharloom

Exploration was a major highlight among critics. Rock Paper Shotgun’s Archer reveled in getting “lost on purpose” in Pharloom, and described Silksong’s worldbuilding as an example “of how well Team Cherry can effectively beckon you to danger.”

“Almost every tunnel or silo is littered with offshoots and ledges, just begging for a quick look, which often turns into a long look, which might turn into two hours poking around a completely different area that you may never have discovered if you didn’t take that one turn.”

“There’s always something […] lingering in the background that draws your eye, and those details always kept me hungry for more”

Tyler Colp, PC Gamer

As Colp traversed Pharloom, he appreciated how “every shortcut and secret area contextualised the horrors you face in the bigger, sadder picture.”

“There’s always something just out of view or lingering in the background that draws your eye, and those details always kept me hungry for more,” he wrote. “By the end of the game, I couldn’t tell what was more exciting: the fact I somehow dug my way into an entire zone I hadn’t explored yet or the questions that new place raised about what’s really going on with Pharloom’s biggest mysteries.”

Silksong’s symbiotic pairing of worldbuilding and explorations also lends to its narrative, striking “that perfect balance between a forefront narrative and complex lore,” as noted by Phillips.

“You can go through this game and barely know what’s going on, [but] if you dig a little deeper, interact with the world, and read through the flavour text on enemy logs, you’ll find there’s an entire world crafted under your feet […] it’s a level of excellence you don’t see from indie games – hell, video games in general.”

Overall consensus

While most critics were sceptical of the difficulty spike in Silksong, some found it hard not to reframe it as a positive aspect of the game in some ways.

“I want to give Silksong a thrashing,” Archer wrote. “I want to verbally repay unto it every cruel death, every pernickety jumping puzzle, every time-thieving runback it’s inflicted on me […] But I can’t. For every moment of frustration, there are five of relief, of joy, of beauty, even.”

Colp had a similar experience with Silksong overall. “I may be bruised and sore from the experience, but I’m happy to say that it does, in fact, pay off.

“Silksong is too good to let the brutal difficulty hold it back, or to hold me back from seeing all of it – even if I wish there were at least some options to tone down the nastiest of punishments.”

He continued: “Silksong will beat you, burn you, rub your face in the dirt, and then dazzle you with another piece of a haunted clockwork world, confident the sight will elicit a bloody, jagged-tooth grin.”

“Silksong is more of what was good about Hollow Knight, but it failed to avoid some very clear pitfalls in design on its long path to release”

Ashley Schofield, VGC

Schofield, however, was critical of Team Cherry’s approach to merging two genres – Metroidvania and Soulslike – together for Silksong.

“[These genres] are fundamentally at odds with each other, with the necessary staples of each actively damaging the other half to end up with a lesser whole – Silksong ends up with a playable identity crisis.”

She concluded: “The beauty of its art and design and the precise, joyful feel of its movement are inarguable wonders, but the tiring and demotivating nature of its sadistic approach to challenge ripples throughout the entire experience of exploration and combat.

“Silksong is more of what was good about Hollow Knight, but it failed to avoid some very clear pitfalls in design on its long path to release.”

Critical Chrome Exploit Could Drain Your Crypto, CTO of French Hardware Wallet Giant Warns

by admin September 18, 2025

Charles Guillemet, chief technology officer at Ledger, has issued a security warning about a major Chrome vulnerability that could potentially allow hackers to drain one’s crypto wallet.

The “Type Confusion” bug, which was recently discovered by security researchers, makes it possible for bad actors to run malicious code by treating one type of data as another. It has been found within V8, the engine that executes JavaScript and WebAssembly.

Simply visiting a malicious website could make it possible for attackers to steal highly sensitive data, including private keys, seed phrases, or wallet files.

Hence, Guillemet is not recommending storing any sensitive data locally.

Google’s urgent response

Within just 48 hours of the critical vulnerability being detected, Google swiftly moved to publish an emergency update. Chrome users have to make sure that they are using the fixed version (140.0.7339.185).

It is worth noting that all Chromium-based web browsers have been affected, including Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi.

Critical Shibarium Chainlink Update Issued by Shiba Inu Team

by admin September 13, 2025

Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya has recently provided a crucial update for the Shiba Inu community.

In a tweet, Dhairya spoke of a minor snag recently encountered while stating that the Shibarium lane powered by CCIP will be active Monday.

While the context of the tweet remains quite uncertain, as no further details were provided by the SHIB developer, it might have to do with Shibaswap’s recent cross-chain expansion push.

In a recent tweet, Shiba Inu team member Lucie revealed that ShibaSwap would be expanding across major blockchains to strengthen the Shiba Inu ecosystem, thanks to the latest release of ShibaSwap, which makes the platform multi-chain.

You Might Also Like

Thanks to a recent upgrade, traders will be able to exchange tokens directly between a wider range of networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum and Base. Zooming out, this upgrade positions ShibaSwap to attract liquidity from major blockchains while paving the way for Shibarium integration.

CCIP in the context of the tweet refers to Chainlink’s cross-chain interoperability protocol, which connects the Shiba Inu ecosystem with over 20 blockchains.

Shibarium incident

A recent incident on Shibarium bridge saw an attacker use a flash loan to buy 4.6 million BONE. Only a small amount of ETH/SHIB was moved, with the majority of assets, including the 4.6 million BONE, remaining locked and frozen.

US offers $10M reward for snitching on trio of Russians that hacked critical infrastructure

by admin September 4, 2025

A trio of Russian hackers is probably about to find out who their friends really are. The U.S. Department of State announced a $10 million bounty for information about the hackers, who “conducted malicious cyber activities against U.S. critical infrastructure on behalf of the Russian government,” via its Rewards for Justice program.

The alleged hackers are Marat Valeryevich Tyukov, Mikhail Mikhailovich Gavrilov, and Pavel Aleksandrovich Akulovof. The State Department said in the X post announcing the bounty that the trio are officers in Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) who “targeted more than 500 foreign energy companies in 135 other countries.”

The U.S. Department of Justice unsealed indictments related to these hackers in 2022. In a press release, the department said that “between May and September 2017, the defendant and co-conspirators hacked the systems of a foreign refinery and installed malware […] to prevent the refinery’s safety systems from functioning (i.e., by causing the [industrial control system] to operate in an unsafe manner while appearing to be operating normally), granting the defendant and his co-conspirators the ability to cause damage to the refinery, injury to anyone nearby, and economic harm.”

The Register reported that Tyukov, Gavrilov, and Akulovof’s unit has been exploiting a vulnerability in Cisco equipment involving “the Smart Install feature of Cisco IOS and IOS XE software, a CVSS 9.8 flaw, and one that many end-of-life-kit can’t patch.” That vulnerability, which has been exploited by other groups, is tracked as CVE-2018-0171.

See the “2018” in that identifier? That’s not a random ID—it means the vulnerability was publicly disclosed seven years ago. Cisco released a patch that same year, so even if organizations are using old hardware that couldn’t be updated to the new software, they’ve had nearly a decade to purchase new equipment unaffected by this flaw.

The State Department’s post on X provided additional details about how to submit information about Tyukov, Gavrilov, and Akulovof via Tor. Similar bounties—some related to “malicious cyber activity,” others related to kidnapping, terrorism, and a blanket “North Korea” category—can be found on the Rewards for Justice website.

HBAR Tests Critical Level of Support at $0.23 After Failed Bounce

by admin August 22, 2025

Hedera’s native token HBAR is testing a key level of support at $0.23 after selling off by more than 3% on Friday.

Trading volume spiked beyond 80 million during crucial intraday windows on August 21.

Despite the sell-off, HBAR has a number of bullish catalysts; SWIFT revealed plans to launch live blockchain payment trials featuring HBAR across its $150 trillion annual payments network starting in November 2025.

At the same time, speculation over a potential exchange-traded fund gathered steam after Grayscale filed Delaware trust documents linked to HBAR. These developments spotlight hashgraph technology’s ability to process over 10,000 transactions per second, bolstering investor confidence in its role in transforming traditional finance infrastructure.

With global payments integration on the horizon, HBAR continues to attract institutional interest as both a technical and fundamental play.

Technical analysis
  • $0.01 trading range creates 2.40% volatility between $0.24 resistance and $0.23 support levels.
  • Volume explosions past 80 million mark key reversal points at midday trading sessions.
  • Support holds firm, for now, at $0.23 while resistance builds near $0.24 price targets.
