Pokemon Go’s new Tales of Transformation season is officially underway, and the mobile game is kicking it off with a variety of events and Pokemon debuts in September. In keeping with the season’s theme, numerous Mega Pokemon will appear in Mega raids this month, including the debuting Mega Sharpedo.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a good farming simulator, but it’s made great by its sense of community and willingness to get you involved

by admin August 31, 2025

Faming simulators are known for creating worlds for us to throw ourselves into, so it’s not too surprising that Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar—a remake of the 2010 DS game—follows suit. But, instead of just being your bog standard, friendly but still somewhat stand-offish farming simulator setting, there is something incredibly special about Zephyr Town. Whether you’re speaking to its human inhabitants or interacting with its nature sprites, it feels like everyone really has a place here, and before long it’ll sink its small town claws into you too.

It sounds pretty obvious, stating that every character in a game has a place there. But what I mean is everyone works in tandem with one another to create the kind of community spirit I haven’t experienced in a farming simulator before. Each character still has their own stories and routines, but their lives are so intertwined with one another it’s hard to really see them as standalone units. It feels different to a game like Stardew Valley, or even other Story of Seasons remakes—Friends of Mineral Town or A Wonderful Life—where each character knows what they’re doing, and sticks to it without showing much care for anyone else.

Each time you speak to someone in Zephyr Town, they’ll bring someone else into the conversation as soon as they get the opportunity. Whether that’s saying something along the lines of “did you hear what they said to that person?” or “I heard from so-and-so that you…” there’s always someone to talk about. These small interactions helped me feel far more involved in the going-ons of the community without having to constantly interact with each person. Even though that’s also made easier with the addition of the call out button, which lets you run past groups of people and greet them all in passing as your daily conversation.

Once I’d dealt with all my crops, pet and fed my animals, taken materials to the windmills to craft with, and stocked my stall for the upcoming bazaar, there was little to no time in a day for in-depth conversations with every single one of Zephyr Town’s inhabitants. I’d happily take the notes from other people if it meant I could still get all of my chores done before my stamina ran out and my avatar once again threatened to pass out.

Related articles

There’s still the initial uncertainty of a new character infiltrating their town—there always is with games like this—so it takes time to develop these friendships. Depending on how often you’re stopping for a chat, it could be a while before you’re trusted enough by others for them to speak more openly about what’s happening. But once you’ve reassured the locals that you are capable of helping them re-establish the town as a solid location for a weekly bazaar, everyone is keen to learn more about you and is more than willing to stop for a conversation.

Image 1 of 3

(Image credit: Marvelous)(Image credit: Marvelous)(Image credit: Marvelous)

Interactions mentioning other people can sometimes be vital to getting information about the preferences of characters too, which is incredibly handy when you realise there are no guidebooks for gift giving here. There is little to no guidance on how to earn the affection of other characters, besides vague phrases like “Dislikes: quick bites” and “Likes: yellow.” Whereas the conversations you have as you develop deeper friendships will reveal things like a character’s favourite meal, or a fond memory they share involving a specific item you can conveniently craft in a windmill.

Outside of talking about one another, the community spirit is echoed through the favours you’re asked to complete and the events that occur throughout the year—helping the game feel more unified. For example, there’s a friendly rivalry between vendors at the bazaar to see who can make the most money (though conveniently, it’s always you) and everyone will always sing your praises if you win a competition such as the pet show or the horse derby.

If there’s one thing to remember though, it’s that no one in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar misses an opportunity to talk about you either. The amount of times I’ve completely forgotten to check how much stamina I have before heading to the mountains to mine, and ended up hitting one too many rocks and passing out is frankly embarrassing. But to make matters worse, I haven’t just been able to dust myself off and get back to work the next day. Oh no. Every single character has been talking about you and what could’ve happened while you were out, and will express their concern to you whenever you get around to speaking to them next.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Occasionally you’ll get the odd telling off too, especially from Lloyd who, in his defence, does express the importance of not overworking yourself from the day you meet him. You’re bound to make some mistakes as a first time farmer. Yet as embarrassing as it was the first time this happened, it definitely made me feel like the people of Zephyr Town did care for their new resident. Not in an overbearing, doting way either. In the exact same way you’d care for a friend if they suddenly fell unwell in real life, which only reinforces this feeling of being so involved in their world.

4,600,000 Burned ETH Coming Back? Ethereum Community Foundation Announces BETH

by admin August 31, 2025

  • Details on new token
  • Why it’s questionable

The Ethereum community is agitated by a startling announcement: The Ethereum Community Foundation, which is not the same as the official Ethereum Foundation, has announced the release of BETH, a new token that will be used to represent ETH that has already been burned.

Details on new token

As stated by the group, BETH is a proof-of-burn token, meaning that each unit represents an equivalent quantity of ETH that has been verified to have been taken out of circulation, in accordance with EIP-1559 and other burn mechanisms. Accordingly, the 40.6 million ETH that have been burned since the London upgrade could now be reissued as BETH.

Ethereum Community Foundation announced the tokenization of burned ETH as BETH, creating a new proof-of-burn token. Each BETH represents ETH verified as removed from circulation, enabling transparent and auditable burn records. Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin…

— Wu Blockchain (@WuBlockchain) August 31, 2025

The goal is to offer a new class of tokens that recognizes the destruction of supply, while simultaneously producing an open, auditable ledger of burned coins. Although specifics are still unknown, the announcement also alluded to the launch of related tokens BBETH and BBBETH. ETH burning will become a highly profitable activity, according to Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of ConsenSys, and BETH is a crucial step in formalizing that process.

Why it’s questionable

Although the idea has created excitement, there are also important concerns. The very idea behind burning coins, to permanently reduce supply, is undermined when they are tokenized. The narrative of ETH scarcity may wane if the community starts to view BETH as a complementary asset with speculative potential.

Furthermore, BETH’s value does not increase simply because it is associated with burned ETH. BETH is not inherently involved in Ethereum’s consensus staking or gas fee structure in contrast to ETH itself. It’s basically a derivative product with unknown long-term utility.

You Might Also Like

Ethereum Community Foundation is not the Ethereum Foundation, as stated in the announcement. Because it could affect BETH’s acceptance and legitimacy, this distinction is crucial. Without well-defined governance, practicality and consumer demand, BETH runs the risk of becoming more of an oddity than a game-changing invention.

Although tokenizing burned assets can bring transparency, it also raises paradoxes: Does representing destroyed value add value or simply lessen the act of burning itself? Until these issues are resolved, BETH should be used cautiously.

ZachXBT Blasts Ripple Holders, Reveals Why He Does Not Assist/Support The XRP Community

by admin August 30, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The crypto space is talking after blockchain investigator ZachXBT turned his attention to Ripple investors and the XRP community at large. In a series of direct posts, he stated that he does not support Ripple holders and even joked that he would mock anyone who sent him a private message.

ZachXBT Calls XRP Holders “Exit Liquidity” For Insiders

In his posts, ZachXBT explained why he keeps his distance from the XRP community. “I do not currently assist the XRP community and will make fun of anyone who sends me a DM,” he wrote. He went further to say that Ripple holders are not worth supporting because they provide “nothing of value to the industry except exit liquidity for insiders.”

The on-chain detective also noted that the supply of XRP remains heavily controlled by insiders. In his view, this makes the token less attractive and prevents fair growth. He added that the community around XRP behaves more like a cult than a group trying to build real technology. According to him, Ripple holders focus too much on hype, price promotion, and defending their token, rather than driving innovation.

ZachXBT grouped XRP holders with other communities he sees as structurally weak. He says that they share the same problems: strong promotion, defensive attitudes, and little to no useful progress. Due to his reputation as a respected blockchain investigator, his comments drew attention, despite being divisive. Because he has exposed crypto scams and shady financial transactions, ZachXBT has gained influence over time, and his words now carry more weight.

On-Chain Detective Rejects MLM Chains And Community Shilling

ZachXBT also explained that his criticism goes beyond XRP alone. He said, “I discriminate against MLM chains,” comparing many projects in the market to pyramid schemes. In his view, these chains operate with little real utility but rely on hype, recruiting new buyers, and constant shilling by communities to keep the system alive.

He described a pattern of insider enrichment, where early insiders and influencers cash out with profits while late retail buyers are left holding losses. This setup, he argued, also suits the XRP community, as it is more about aggressive promotion than genuine innovation.

ZachXBT also discussed the behavior of these communities. He described their behavior as cult-like, with members becoming very defensive and spending more energy on pushing “numbers go up” rather than creating long-term value. In his opinion, this is one of the reasons why these projects do not advance the crypto industry.

ZachXBT’s comments may prompt the crypto space to reassess XRP, its community support, and whether the token’s future lies in real utility or is simply an asset used by insiders for profit. A fresh wave of verbal shrapnel could happen within the XRP community, as some agree with him while others defend Ripple’s token.

Solana Starts Community Voting Phase On Alpenglow

by admin August 29, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The most ambitious consensus overhaul foe Solana to date—SIMD-0326, nicknamed “Alpenglow”—has officially moved into the community voting window, a three-epoch process that began at the start of Epoch 840 and will conclude at the end of Epoch 842.

The proposal rewrites Solana’s core consensus, replacing Proof-of-History plus TowerBFT with a modern architecture centered on a direct-vote finality engine (“Votor”). The authors say Alpenglow significantly reduces latency (from 12.8 seconds under TowerBFT to as low as 100–150 milliseconds) while eliminating heavy vote-gossip traffic through off-chain messaging and signature aggregation.

Solana Validators Begin Deciding Future Of Alpenglow

Governance mechanics for SIMD-0326 are unusually explicit. Vote tokens are claimable by validators according to captured stake weights, using a Merkle distributor tool; tokens may be sent to “Yes,” “No,” or “Abstain” accounts. Passage requires a supermajority: the sum of Yes votes is equal to or greater than 2/3 of the total sum of Yes + No votes,” with a quorum of 33% in which abstentions count toward quorum but not toward the Yes/No denominator.

On day one of the window (Epoch 840), early snapshots show modest—but distinctly positive—participation. Multiple market data posts report turnout near 11.5%, with roughly 11.3% of stake signaling “Yes” and negligible “No.” Because the overwhelming share of stake has not yet cast ballots, this should be treated as an initial reading rather than a trend. A public tally dashboard is being maintained by Staking Facilities.

SIMD-0326 vote status | Source: Staking Facilities

Alpenglow’s design changes go beyond speed. The protocol introduces certificate-based notarization and finalization, aggregates validator votes off-chain to reduce overhead, and rebalances incentives around voting. Notably, the proposal replaces per-slot on-chain vote fees with a fixed “Validator Admission Ticket” (VAT) currently set at 1.6 SOL per epoch and burned—an economic continuity measure intended to keep cost structures comparable to today’s while votes move off-chain.

“Before each epoch, each validator must pay a fixed fee—initially set to 1.6 SOL per epoch,” the authors write, adding that the figure mirrors roughly 80% of current on-chain voting costs. Forum participants have already begun debating whether a flat VAT raises entry barriers for smaller operators, underscoring that the governance discussion is as much about economics as it is about protocol mechanics.

Timing matters for operators and tokenholders following the vote. Solana epochs are approximately two days in length, so a three-epoch voting window implies about six days from start to finish. The network entered Epoch 840 on August 27, 2025, which places the expected end of the voting window around September 2, 2025, when Epoch 842 concludes.

If the supermajority threshold is reached, Alpenglow would clear governance, with subsequent activation depending on client readiness and the standard Solana release process. For now, the focus is on turnout. With ~90% of stake yet to be tallied in the opening snapshot, every validator ballot over the coming epochs will carry outsized weight in determining whether Solana pursues ~150-millisecond finality as its next consensus horizon.

At press time, SOL traded at $215.

13.93 Trillion SHIB Restores Hope for Shiba Inu Community

by admin August 27, 2025

After multiple days of declining momentum, interest in the Shiba Inu derivatives market appears to be back in flames. Data from Coinglass has shown a notable increase in the Shiba Inu open interest over the last day.

According to the data, the dog-themed meme token has seen its open interest resurge back to a massive 13.93 trillion SHIB after hitting significant lows in the previous days. This marks a significant increase of 4.31% over the last day, signaling renewed optimism among SHIB enthusiasts.

$182 million in SHIB bets

Following the surge in SHIB’s derivatives activities, it appears that SHIB traders are increasingly willing to open new positions to bet on the asset’s price potential. This suggests that confidence has been restored to the SHIB community, posing the price of the token for more upsurge.

Per SHIB’s trading price as of August 27, the total amount of SHIB committed in its active futures contracts is worth over $182 million according to data provided by the source.

Nonetheless, it is important to note that the SHIB open interest indicates the total number of unsettled SHIB futures contracts or options contracts. As such, the aforementioned figure covers the total amount of funds invested by small and large investors in Shiba Inu derivatives as of August 27.

You Might Also Like

The surge in SHIB’s open interest coincides with the broad crypto market price rebound which saw the price of the leading meme asset surge as high as $0.00001263 on Wednesday.

While momentum appears to be cooling, data from CoinMarketCap shows that the asset has surged to $0.00001250 as of press time after trading for less in the previous days. As such, SHIB has shown a 24-hour increase of 1.1%.

Source: CoinMarketCap

Nonetheless, its positive on-chain metric suggests that SHIB might be set for higher gains in the short term.

Further data provided by the source shows that leading cryptocurrency exchange Gate has dominated the SHIB derivatives market with 7.37 trillion SHIB registered by its users.

This impressive performance was followed by Bitget, which accounts for 2.44 trillion SHIB out of the total amount of SHIB’s unsettled contracts.

XRP Community Not Impressed by Gemini’s New Product

by admin August 26, 2025

Gemini, a major US cryptocurrency exchange, has officially announced its XRP credit card, which was initially teased earlier this month.

The owners of the much-hyped card can earn 4% cash back on gas, EV charging as well as public transport.

It also offers 3% cash back on dining and 2% cash back on groceries. Other purchases will come with 1% cash back.

That’s it?

The XRP community is not impressed by the introduction of the new product, with some of its members complaining that it does not actually bring anything particularly new to the table (apart from the “XRP” logo).

So basically the same product you ALREADY HAVE … but with a little “X” on it 🤦🏻‍♂️ Jeez…

— TheXRPDon (@DonnieSEvans) August 25, 2025

The exchange, which is run by the Winklevoss twins, initially announced XRP rewards in March that made it possible to earn up to 4% cashback. Considering that a lot of clients already use the ordinary card, the Monday announcement felt somehow anticlimatic.

So a new camo for the same card. EW

— leo (@aFreeCubanNOW) August 25, 2025

Why XRP?

As reported by U.Today, the Winklevoss twins have a rather complicated history with the XRP community. After previously dismissing its members as “dumb trolls,” they have made amends with the holders of the third-largest cryptocurrency.

In its latest blog post, Gemini has clarified that it chose to introduce an XRP-specific card because of the massive gains that the token has recorded over the past year. In fact, $73,700 worth of rewards turned into $407,000.

You Might Also Like

Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss has stated that the XRP community can express their “passion” and “loyalty” with the help of the new card. At the same time, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse claims that the new product will make crypto “simple” and “approachalbe.”

Polkadot price to surge? Key vote advances ahead of JAM upgrade

Polkadot price hinges on key community vote, JAM upgrade

by admin August 24, 2025

The Polkadot price remains in a tight range on Sunday, Aug. 24, as a golden cross pattern formed, and the community voted on its supply and inflation reduction measures.

Summary

  • Polkadot price could surge as the community leans in the hard cap side.
  • The network will likely implement the JAM upgrade in 2026.
  • Technical analysis points to an eventual DOT price rebound.

Polkadot community vote continues

Polkadot (DOT) was trading at the psychological level of $4, up 35% from its lowest point this year.

The DOT crypto price has remained in a tight range over the past few days as the community debates its tokenomics. Most of these investors have been frustrated with its weak performance as it hovers near its all-time low.

The community is voting on three proposals: hard pressure, soft pressure, and growth pressure. The hard pressure proposal aims to implement a 2.1 billion DOT supply, accompanied by a significant inflation reduction of 53.6%, and a stepped supply schedule commencing in March next year.

Its main implication is that it will reduce the current staking yield from 14% to a significantly lower number over time. One concern among its proponents is that stakers typically sell their rewards, creating pressure on the sale of DOT.

The soft pressure proposal suggests a more gradual approach with a higher threshold of 3.14 billion DOT supply. It is seen as a less aggressive approach.

The growth proposal suggests a 2.1 billion cap, with a 33% inflation reduction every two years and 50% staking APR cut in this period. Data shows that the hard cap proposal is winning, although this could change towards the end of the vote.

The other major catalyst for the Polkadot price is the proposed Join-Accumulate Machine (JAM) upgrade.

This upgrade, proposed by Polkadot creator Gavin Wood last year, will evolve from a parachain-focused blockchain into a decentralized supercomputer that supports applications in various industries, such as DeFi.

Although the upgrade date has not been announced, it is likely to occur soon now that Wood has returned as CEO.

Polkadot price technical analysis

DOT price chart | Source: crypto.news

The daily chart shows that the DOT price formed a double-bottom pattern at $3.256, its lowest levels in April and June this year. Its neckline is at $5.375.

The Polkadot price is also about to form a golden cross pattern. As the spread between the 50-day and 200-day Weighted Moving Averages narrows, it signals one of the most popular bullish chart patterns.

DOT crypto has also formed a symmetrical triangle whose two lines are about to converge. Therefore, the most likely scenario is where it stages a strong comeback, potentially to $5.374, its highest swing in May.

  • It could become 2025’s breakout memecoin if it sustains traction because of its community-driven momentum.

The memecoin market never takes a day off. Each cycle crowns a new community darling, and in 2025, that spotlight is shifting toward XYZVerse (XYZ) — a sports-themed token blending crypto culture with betting, gaming, and community-driven hype.

With its presale already pulling in over $15 million and token prices climbing stage after stage, XYZVerse is shaping up as more than a fleeting memecoin. But what’s actually fueling this surge, and why are early adopters betting that XYZ could be one of this year’s breakout tokens?

What is XYZVerse?

  • Coin name: XYZVerse (XYZ)
  • Contract: 0xD75Ab4b69F2eDfb072fDFD7e2D15a875f95Ae5ae
  • Funds raised: $15m+
  • Launch date: Q4 2025 (listing target: $0.10)
  • Price performance: Up 5,300% since presale start ($0.0001 → $0.0054)
  • Community: 21k+ followers on X, 12K+ Telegram members
  • Security: Audited by Pessimistic Audit & SolidProof

At its core, XYZVerse claims to be the first all-sports memecoin — an attempt to connect sports betting, staking, and meme culture under one token.

A cornerstone of its strategy is a partnership with bookmaker.XYZ, a decentralized sportsbook and casino. Holders get perks like exclusive betting rewards, play-to-earn experiences, and access to upcoming gamified dApps. The roadmap also promises Telegram-based mini games, airdrops, and staking platforms.

Presale dynamics: From fixed stages to live price climb

XYZVerse’s presale has been one of its biggest talking points. Early backers saw the token rise from $0.0001 to $0.0054 — a more than 5,000% jump — through a stage-based model.

Recently, the team introduced a twist: instead of fixed stages, the price now increases with every $100,000 raised. That tweak creates urgency; each buy literally moves the price higher.

So far, the results speak for themselves: more than $15 million raised toward a $30 million target. To boost transparency, a live Telegram feed logs each new contribution, letting the community watch the presale progress in real time.

Every second that passes, someone else is buying. Get XYZ while the presale is live.

Is XYZVerse secure?

Skepticism comes naturally in memecoin land. Many projects launch fast and die faster. But XYZVerse is taking some credibility-building steps:

  • Audit: Its smart contract was audited by Pessimistic, which reported no critical issues and highlighted gas efficiency.
  • Deflationary model: With a fixed supply of 100 billion tokens, XYZVerse includes a burn mechanism via buybacks, helping reduce inflationary pressure.

Transparency around audits and tokenomics sets XYZVerse apart in a space often criticized for cutting corners.

Tokenomics breakdown

  • Total supply: 100b tokens
  • Burn allocation: 17.13% (a notable deflationary lever)
  • Marketing & liquidity: 30% combined
  • Ecosystem growth & development: 10%
  • Community rewards & airdrops: 10%
  • Team allocation: 10%

With 40% of the supply community-directed (presale, KOLs, airdrops), the model signals a grassroots-first approach. The relatively modest team allocation also suggests discipline compared to many meme projects.

Community sentiment

Momentum is visible across XYZVerse’s socials. Over 96% of CoinMarketCap users rated the project bullish, and its Telegram and X channels show daily chatter about buys, presale milestones, and speculation about post-launch performance.

It’s the kind of organic hype most early-stage projects envy: fans posting about going “all in,” calling it a “solid project,” and anticipating the launch like a sporting event itself.

With community energy continuing to rise and broader market sentiment improving, XYZVerse is shaping up to be one of the most promising memecoin contenders of the next cycle.

Road ahead

XYZVerse has laid out a roadmap that goes beyond presale hype:

  • Launching staking and rewards dApps
  • Expanding Telegram-based play-to-earn games
  • Partnering with influencers and athletes to reach mainstream sports fans
  • Aggressive marketing and sponsorships
  • Ongoing token burns and liquidity support

If executed, these steps could help XYZVerse transition from memecoin frenzy to a broader web3 sports-entertainment hub.

Bottom line

XYZVerse is riding a wave of community hype, presale momentum, and sports-meets-crypto culture. Its blend of meme-driven excitement and real-world betting utility makes it a project to watch in 2025.

But the ultimate test will come post-listing: whether XYZ can maintain traction once the presale buzz fades. If it delivers on staking, gaming, and partnerships, XYZVerse could evolve into one of this cycle’s rare memecoins with staying power.

Inside Ripple-Gemini Developments: Community Opinion

by admin August 23, 2025

  • Gemini borrows $75 million from Ripple ahead of IPO, RLUSD stablecoin involved
  • Gemini plans to go public despite massive losses in H1, 2025

Prominent XRP community enthusiast who goes by @WKahneman unveils how MasterCard’s XRP card announcement and its SEC filing can be connected through a nine-digit credit line opened by Ripple. Also, this development might be a showcase for Ripple USD (RLUSD) as an institutional-grade asset.

Gemini borrows $75 million from Ripple ahead of IPO, RLUSD stablecoin involved

Gemini, one of the biggest cryptocurrency ecosystems in the U.S., mentioned a $75 million credit line opened by Ripple in its IPO filings with the SEC. The program can be expanded to $150 million, while additional draws might be completed with the usage of the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin.

Unpacking the #Ripple/Gemini news. What exactly is going on? The whole may be greater than the sum of it’s parts. (It gets weird in #5) This week has brought interesting news to ponder if this is more than just a loan ⤵️

These facts were noticed by pseudonymous Ripple and XRP observer who goes by @WKahneman. The expert shared them in a thread with his 84,000 followers on X.

While borrowing money pre-IPO looks regular to the observer, the potential utilization of RLUSD, the first major regulated stablecoin, is pretty unusual. In the future, this could contribute massively to the recognition and distribution of RLUSD.

Then, both Gemini and Ripple are simultaneously gearing toward regulatory compliance in the EU. While Gemini has just received a MiCA license in Malta, Ripple, via its new Luxembourg unit, applied for a MiCA EMI license in July.

Last but not least, the newly-announced XRP bank card by WebBank is backed by $75 million liquidity. The launch slogan hints at Aug. 25 as the day of the product’s release.

Gemini plans to go public despite massive losses in H1, 2025

As such, Ripple might be a huge beneficiary of the deal with Gemini and the upcoming IPO. The retail XRP card and the unique use case for RLUSD might be only the beginning of the story.

As covered by U.Today previously, Gemini is preparing for an IPO on NASDAQ. The platform is joining the club of crypto companies going public despite heavy losses in H1, 2025.

The company reported a huge net loss of $282 million, which is a massive increase compared to over $40 million in previous reports. Also, the company cash reserves only total $161 million with liabilities exceeding $2 billion, U.Today previously reported.
