Yuga Labs sells Moonbirds NFT collection to Orange Cap Games

by admin June 2, 2025

Crypto gaming startup Orange Cap Games (OCG) has acquired the intellectual property of the Ethereum-based non-fungible token collection Moonbirds from Yuga Labs.

OCG said on May 30 that it bought the Moonbirds, Mythics and Oddities NFT collections from Yuga, but did not disclose details or pricing of the deal.

It comes a little over a year after Yuga acquired the three collections when it took over the company that created them, PROOF, in February.

“Moonbirds deserve a team whose whole world is the birds, and there’s no one better than Orange Cap Games to help them reach their potential,” Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano said.

He added that Yuga was “laser-focused” on its original collections, which includes the once high-priced Bored Ape Yacht Club and its various spinoffs, including the Mutant Ape Yacht Club as well as its long-in-development metaverse, Otherside.

As part of the deal, Moonbirds will still launch on Otherside and any new onchain assets created by the team will be hosted on Ethereum or Yuga’s layer-2 network, ApeChain.

Moonbirds have more than tripled in price to 0.9 ETH after news of the acquisition. However, the collection is still down nearly 98% from its all-time high of 38.5 ETH in April 2022, according to CoinGecko.

Yuga Labs IP sell-off continues

Yuga has continued to offload its NFT collections and intellectual properties as the NFT market has taken a sharp dive and continues to see low trading volumes.

Earlier in May, Yuga sold the intellectual property rights of CryptoPunks, considered by many to be a pioneering NFT collection, to the nonprofit organization Infinite Node Foundation. The terms of the deals were not disclosed.

In February, The Meebit Company acquired Meebits from Yuga Labs; however, Yuga still has a minority stake, with venture firm 1confirmation also being part of the deal.

Related: Real-world assets could revitalize dying NFT lending market

Last year, Yuga sold off the IPs of two of its games, HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara, in a move to refocus the organization’s core collections.

Meanwhile, on May 30, Disney announced that it had teamed up with Dapper Labs, creators of NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties, to launch its new loyalty program. Disney+ subscribers will receive a digital pin each month.

The downtrend for NFTs is seemingly coming to an end.

In May, unique NFT buyers increased by 50% to 936,000 from the previous month, whereas NFT volume increased to $430 million, an increase of 15% from April.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 review: these decades-old fighters haven’t missed a beat

by admin June 1, 2025

Why you can trust TechRadar

We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test.

Capcom has been on a tear with its compilations recently, and now Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has arrived hot on the heels of the also-excellent Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.

Review information

Platform reviewed: PC
Available on: PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC
Release date: May 16, 2025

What makes Capcom Fighting Collection 2 extra special is its diversity. The first Capcom Fighting Collection was very Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior flavored. This latest compilation, however, manages to deliver something for everyone, with some games that fans have been pining to have re-released on modern platforms for years now.

The big draw in this collection is, of course, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001. Fighting game legends and casuals alike largely consider it to be one of the greatest the genre has ever seen – owing to its large crossover roster, exceptional soundtrack, and the innovative Groove system.

You may like

But that’s not to say the rest of the collection is a dud. You absolutely shouldn’t sleep on the original Capcom vs. SNK and its glorious presentation, nor 3D curiosities like Project Justice and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein. Both Power Stone games are here, too, and those are among the best party platforming fighters of all time.

The only real stinker in Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is Capcom Fighting Evolution. It’s a bizarre inclusion given its infamous reputation, confusing systems, and roughshod presentation. On the other hand, it’s an interesting one from a curiosity standpoint, and it is still worthy of preservation.

You can also expect the usual smattering of extras, including concept art galleries, achievements, and sound test options. Some games also have fully remixed soundtracks courtesy of the CAP-JAMs team, and there’s plenty of bangers here, especially for Capcom vs. SNK 2.

Go for broke

Before diving into the review proper, here’s a quick rundown of the eight games you can expect to play in Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

  • Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
  • Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
  • Project Justice
  • Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
  • Power Stone
  • Power Stone 2
  • Capcom Fighting Evolution

I won’t be giving a full review of each game individually, as to be quite honest, I’d need around 5,000 words to do so. But what you should know is that – aside from Capcom Fighting Evolution – each game in this collection is absolutely worth playing, whether you’ve done the rounds with fighting games before or not.

For most players, the first port of call will almost certainly be Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001. What seems like a simple crossover fighter on its surface quickly reveals itself as perhaps one of the deepest fighting games ever made. And it’s all thanks to the Ratio and Groove systems.

First of all, Ratio determines the power scaling of the character(s) you select. You have four Ratio points with which to build your team, with higher numbers granting your characters more health and attack strength. For example, you can pick a single Ratio 4 character, or one Ratio 2 and two Ratio 1 fighters.

The Groove system is vastly more complex and will fundamentally change how your team operates. There are six grooves: C, A, P, S, N, and K. Each can apply different properties and abilities, but there are unique quirks within each. C-Groove, for example, is the only Groove that grants you access to Level 2 Super moves. P-Groove gives you a Street Fighter 3: Third Strike-style parry, while K-Groove lets you enter a powered-up rage state. You can only select one Groove, and learning which you like best (not to mention which works best with your chosen characters) is an incredibly rewarding process for those willing to put the time in.

The original Capcom vs. SNK may not be as fondly remembered, but skip on it at your peril. It arguably has the stronger presentation of the two, with charming stage intro animations and one of the slickest attract screens to ever grace the arcades. There are some limitations here compared to its sequel, though. Characters have a preset Ratio, for one, and there are just two Grooves to choose from (either Capcom or SNK). It’s still well worth checking out, though, if only for its mesmerizing Y2K-style presentation.

Party on

If you prefer more casual-friendly 3D fighters, this collection has you covered there, too, in the forms of Project Justice and Plasma Sword. The former is a team-based fighter that pits characters from rivaling high schools against each other, making use of powerful team synergy attacks to quickly turn the tables.

The latter is an interesting one; Plasma Sword (and its predecessor, Star Gladiator) was, allegedly, originally envisioned as a Star Wars fighting game. You’ll be able to see that influence in many of its character designs, too. A four-button fighter not dissimilar to the Soul Calibur games, it’s not the most complex game out there, but it is well worth experiencing for its lighthearted sci-fi charm and bonkers special moves.

Best bit

The crown jewel of the package is undoubtedly Capcom vs. SNK 2. It’s a highly technical fighting game, but certainly one of the most rewarding to this day. Fine-tuning your team and matching them with one of six Groove styles is incredibly satisfying, if only to see what kinds of crazy synergies you can come up with. It truly feels like a game of limitless possibilities, and I can only hope Capcom and SNK revisit the concept in the future.

Then you have Power Stone and Power Stone 2, both of which are a real treat and – for those who prefer less technical fighters that flourish in casual multiplayer environments – perhaps the best games in this collection. The Power Stone games combine melee fighting with a range of fun items, including gatling guns, lasers, and hammers. Both are an unbelievably fun time despite their age, with a cast of charming characters, a lovely art style, and stages that evolve over time. Power Stone 2 does bump things up from two players to four and features all-new stages. But you can’t go wrong with either title, really.

Rounding out the package is Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, a fantastic arcade version of Alpha 3 with balance changes and extra characters. Then there’s Capcom Fighting Evolution, which – to be polite – is the black sheep of the collection. It’s one you can safely skip due to its frankly horrible presentation, with muddy low-resolution backgrounds and a grossly unbalanced roster.

It’s a curiosity for sure, as a game that chucks in characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Red Earth, and more, but also one that simply isn’t as fun or rewarding as the other titles in Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

Buy it if…

Don’t buy it if…

Accessibility

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 does have a couple of noteworthy accessibility options. One-button supers apply to most games here, letting you input your favorite characters’ flashiest and most damaging moves with little effort – perfect for casual and beginner play. You can also access various CRT filters or disable them entirely based on your preferences.

I played Capcom Fighting Collection 2 for 15 hours on a gaming PC, via Steam. I primarily played with my Razer Wolverine V3 Pro controller, but also switched to the Hori Fighting Stick Alpha for a bit to confirm the game’s compatibility with the best fight sticks.

Jordan Peele Limited Edition Steelbook Collection Drops To Best Price Yet

by admin May 31, 2025

Jordan Peele fans can add a limited-edition 4K Blu-ray combo pack to their collection for cheap right now. Amazon has the Get Out / Us Double Feature: Limited Edition Steelbook discounted to only $26. Released last October with an MSRP of $46, this four-disc collection cleverly combines the memorable key art from both horror hits to create a unique display piece. The $26 price is a new all-time low for the Get Out / Us Steelbook. This deal is so good that you’d actually pay more for the 2019 version of the 4K Double Feature with a standard plastic case ($30).

$26 (was $46)

The Us / Get Out Double Feature – Limited Edition Steelbook

The four-disc set includes 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray discs as well as digital versions of each film and a bunch of special features. We’ve included lists of bonus content for each movie at the bottom of this story. Unfortunately, there isn’t a 4K Blu-ray box set featuring all three of Peele’s movies. There is, however, a Jordan Peele 3-Movie Collection with Get Out, Us, and Nope on 1080p Blu-ray for $19.47 (was $45) at Amazon.

But if you pick up the deal on the Limited Edition Steelbook, you could pair it with Nope’s 4K Blu-ray Collector’s Edition for only $17. If you go that route, you’ll be getting all three of Peele’s movies on 4K Blu-ray and 1080p Blu-ray for $43–as well as a cool steelbook case.

Get Out (2017) and Us (2019) are widely regarded as two of the best modern horror films. Peele wrote, directed, and produced both movies. For Get Out, his directorial debut, Peele won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay and was nominated for Best Director. Get Out also earned a Best Picture nomination, and lead actor Daniel Kaluuya was nominated for Best Actor.

Kaluuya also starred in the 2022 movie Nope, Peele’s third and most recent directorial project. Nope garnered widespread critical acclaim and showcased Peele’s range within the horror genre. While his first two movies were psychological horror, Nope was a compelling mix of horror, science fiction, and neo-Western.

Here’s a look at the special features for the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray versions of Get Out, Us, and Nope. The 4K Blu-ray editions support Dolby Vision and HDR10.

Special Features for Get Out

  • Audio commentary by Jordan Peele
  • Unveiling the Horror of Get Out
  • Q&A with Jordan Peele and the cast
  • Alternate ending with optional commentary from Peele
  • Deleted scenes with optional commentary from Peele

Special Features for Us

  • The Monsters Within Us
  • Tethered Together: Making Us Twice
  • Redefining a Genre: Jordan Peele’s Brand of Horror
  • The Duality of Us
  • Becoming Red
  • We’re All Dying
  • Scene Explorations
  • As Above, So Below: Grand Pas de Deux

Special Features for Nope

  • Shadows: The Making of Nope
  • Call Him Jean Jacket
  • Mystery Man of Muybridge

Phasmophobia June’s update reworks the Journal, Media, and brings a “total overhaul” of evidence collection

by admin May 31, 2025

Kinetic Games has confirmed Phasmophobia’s next content drop, Chronicle, will release on 24th June, and it’ll be its “biggest update yet”.

As well as introducing a “total overhaul” of how evidence is collected, the team said Chronicle will expand investigations with three new evidence types, a completely redesigned Journal, reworked levelling and progression, a refreshed Main Menu UI, and “many eerie surprises still lurking in the dark”.

Phasmophobia – Console Launch Trailer.Watch on YouTube

But at the “heart” of the Chronicle update is the debut of the all-new Sound evidence. An entirely new haunting paranormal proof type can be captured through the new Sound Recorder, bringing “a new dimension to gameplay, revealing subtle clues that might otherwise be drowned out by terrified screams”. Available in the customary three upgrade tiers, players will be able to record audio from ghost events, Spirit Box responses, and Paranormal Sounds like those detected by the Parabolic Microphone.

It’s this new evidence type that’s necessitated a Journal upgrade, too. The Photo tab will be rebranded as “Media”, and keep all your photos, videos, and new sound recordings in one place. Importantly, you’ll have to fill your journal with all these unique media types, including “EMF spikes to ghostly interactions and fleeting glimpses of otherworldly forms”, to complete a “perfect” investigation.

“Chronicle will also introduce a revamped media quality system,” Kinetic teased. “The first evidence capture of any media type will be marked as ‘Unique’, granting extra cash and XP rewards at the end of each contract. Any subsequent captures of the same evidence type will be classed as ‘Duplicates’, offering smaller rewards. The new system will also add tier bonuses based on the equipment used and adds all media captures into the Reward Multiplier, making every shot, sound, and sight count even more toward player’s final payouts.”

Don’t forget that this year, Phasmophobia will also rework Grafton Farmhouse, following Bleasdale Farmhouse’s recent overhaul. Before then, though, we’ll also get to see the new levelling and progression system and Main Menu UI when Chronicle arrives at the end of June.

The ghost-hunting sim has sold two million copies on console since it came out of early access last October, bringing the total sales across all platforms to 22 million. The development team recently outlined the road ahead for the spooky sim in 2025, confirming map reworks, new ghost-hunting equipment, “thrilling seasonal events”, and a brand-new location, too.

Lunar Remastered Collection Physical Edition Restocked At Amazon

by admin May 31, 2025

Lunar Remastered Collection’s physical edition is back in stock for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The physical edition is exclusive to Amazon in the US and has been hard to secure since the two-game collection became available to purchase on launch day (April 18). The Nintendo Switch version in particular tends to sell out quicker than the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Lunar Remastered Collection’s physical edition retails for $55, five bucks more than the digital edition for consoles and PC.

Lunar Remastered Collection Amazon Listings:

$55 | Restocked on May 30

The Lunar Remastered Collection includes enhanced versions of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and its sequel, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete.

Both games feature retouched graphics, enhanced audio, new English localizations, and gameplay tweaks like optional battle speed increases to make the classic RPGs more approachable.

The Amazon-exclusive physical editions have reversible cover art featuring both Lunar and Lunar 2 by series illustrator and anime artist Toshiyuki Kubooka.

A digital version of the collection is also available for consoles and PC via Steam.

This collection offers a great way to experience two of the most important RPGs from the 16-bit and 32-bit console eras. The original Lunar: Silver Star Story is considered a landmark title in the Japanese RPG lineage and was one of the first console RPGs to feature voice acting, animated cutscenes, and CD-quality music thanks to its original platform, the Sega CD. It was later remade for PS1 and Sega Saturn as Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, which is the version included in the Lunar Remastered Collection. Its sequel, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, also launched on PS1 and Saturn and built upon the gameplay and story presentation of the first game, featuring even more voiced dialogue and a larger cast.

Voice acting, cutscenes, and high-quality soundtracks are now common elements of video games, they were groundbreaking at the time–though the voice performances are now notorious for their uneven quality. However, the new Remastered Collection includes all-new English voice acting for both games–though the scripts for both remasters are based on the original localizations. Lunar Remastered Collection also includes the option to play with Japanese voice acting, and you can also swap between the new enhanced visuals or the PS1 visuals for both games.

The Criterion Collection of video games is finally here

by admin May 20, 2025

Video game design studio Lost in Cult announced a new physical game label called Editions. The label will release “prestige” editions of beloved games that include original box art, 40-page booklets, and other extras.

Lost in Cult is best known for releasing books on video game through its Design Works series, as well as vinyl records featuring game soundtracks. Editions is an extension of that work, continuing the design company’s focus on game preservation and curated content. Think of the project as a Criterion Collection for video games, preserving prestigious titles and bundling them with additional context that underlines their importance to the medium.

Three games have been announced for the first wave of releases: Immortality, Thank Goodness You’re Here, and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow. All three are critically acclaimed indies from this decade (Immortality was Digital Trends’ runner-up choice for game of the year in 2022, narrowly losing to Elden Ring). Each comes with a poster, art cards, a booklet featuring essays and interviews, and more physical extras.

Lost in Cult

All three are available to order now and will retail for £60. Lost in Cult will ship Editions worldwide and says that they will ship within six months, though it is targeting a three month turnaround.

At launch, Editions will only get PS5 and Nintendo Switch releases. Thank Goodness You’re Here will be available on both platforms, Immortality is getting a PS5-only release, and The Excavation of Hobb’s Barrow will be for Switch. There will be a limited number of copies to order for each platform, though Lost in Cult says that it will release standard edition versions of the game at retailers too.

Lost in Cult confirms that Nintendo Switch 2 Editions (not to be confused with … Nintendo Switch 2 Editions) are planned for the future and those will always be “full editions” rather than Game-Key Cards.

More titles are coming soon. While Lost in Cult will skip June, it plans to release its next Edition in July for Nintendo Switch and PS5. It teases that it’s an “artful” game. Future release are planned through 2026.

The first three Editions are available to order now via Lost in Cult.
