Diablo 4’s third and final collab is with… StarCraft, and it looks just about as soulless as the Berserk cross-over

by admin September 26, 2025

We’re officially in the march towards the end of 2025. In Diablo 4 terms, we’re in the early days of the launch of the game’s last season of the year. Though much of Season 10 itself has been a known quantity for a while, there was one mystery still to be revealed.

I’m talking, of course, about the final collaboration event, which we knew would take place during Season 10. Blizzard has now officially revealed which IP is going to be crossing over with the world of Diablo 4.

The Diablo 4 roadmap promised two cross-over events. The first was with Berserk, and now the second – and final – collaboration event has been officially announced. Unlike the first one, this one is going to be with a Blizzard franchise: StarCraft. It’s kicking off this evening and will run until October 10.

Strangely, however, there’s no gameplay component to this one, or a separate Reliquary (battle pass). StarCraft’s factions won’t be invading Sanctuary or anything. Instead, it’s mainly an opportunity to sell expensive cosmetics, which went over well last time.

If you’re fine parting with your money, you can get your hands on StarCraft-inspired cosmetics for each of Diablo 4’s classes. You can make your character look like The Queen of Blades (Kerrigan), Mengsk, Zagara, Jim Raynor, Tassadar or Zeratul.

There’s also a mount bundle that lets you ride around a Zergling, or have a different Zerg as a pet. Prices haven’t been announced for any of these items, but expect each skin to cost around $20 at minimum.

The free stuff. | Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment.

There’s a set of free items, too, which you’ll also find in the in-game store. That’s three emblems, and three weapon cosmetics for the mace, two-handed polearm, and the two-handed crossbow. The free gifts will roll out daily, starting today until September 28. You will, however, be able to claim them for the entire runtime of the event.

Alongside the main event, there’s also a Twitch Drops promotion that will be available at the same time: September 26 – October 10. Watching any Twitch streamer in the Diablo 4 category (who has Drops enabled) will earn you three emblems. You get the first one after watching for two hours, the second after four hours, and the third when you accumulate six hours of watch time within that window.

And that’s about it for this one. One could only hope Blizzard’s next attempt at a Diablo 4 cross-over event will have more soul to it.

Lawsuit over ownership of Sonic theme Live and Learn dismissed, but Fortnite collab proves song remains in “limbo”, says songwriter

by admin September 22, 2025

A lawsuit over the rights to the Sonic the Hedgehog song Live and Learn has been dismissed, but the songwriter claims the song “remains in ‘limbo'”.

Last year, Crush 40 musician and songwriter Johnny Gioeli sued Sega of America over ownership of the Sonic Adventure 2 theme song, ahead of its feature throughout the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film.

At the time, Gioeli claimed Sega had the rights to the lyrics, but not the “master recording musical composition”. However, “unbeknownst” to the songwriter, the company had “exploited and licensed” the song in “at least 25 video games, television shows, live performances/events and films”.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – Come Race on Our Level CommercialWatch on YouTube

In a new statement, Gioeli stated the case against Sega was dismissed “based on time, not on ownership” and so the song remains in “limbo”.

The reason for the statement? Sonic’s forthcoming appearance in Fortnite – we reported last week on leaks suggesting Sonic and Shadow are headed to the battle royale.

“Just two weeks ago, I was contacted by Epic Games to potentially use Live and Learn,” stated Gioeli, “and the amazing part is Sega had them call ME for the rights to use the song. So there you have it. The most epic song remains in the ‘abyss of ownership’.”

Gioeli added: “The song is mine. I wrote it with Jun [Senoue], I sing it, I created the melody, I recorded my vocals in my studio, and they do not own it.”

News of the lawsuit emerged last year ahead of both Sonic x Shadow Generations and the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film, both of which make use of the song in their soundtracks.

Gioeli’s latest comments precede not just the Fortnite collaboration, but the release this week of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

A leak last week, showed more unannounced DLC is on the way to the racing game.

by admin September 20, 2025

McDonald’s is celebrating China’s Mid-Autumn festival with a special collaboration in honor of the country’s standout AAA game, Black Myth Wukong.

Black Myth Wukong was a resounding success for Chinese studio Game Science, which brought the timeless epic of Sun Wukong to players around the globe in August 2024.

Winning Best Action-Adventure at the Game Awards, Wukong has continued to capture the hearts and minds of fans in the year since then, and the developers are already working on their next mythos-inspired game, Black Myth: Zhong Kui.

FF14 is getting a baby Seikret minion as part of its Monster Hunter Wilds collab, and I will fistfight Arkveld alone for it

by admin September 20, 2025

I’m not going to try convincing you to play through ~500 hours of Final Fantasy 14 for a Monster Hunter Wilds event. It’s easily one of my favorite games, but if you’re not into the story as it stands, then the MMORPG isn’t worth it. I will, however, show you this freakishly adorable baby Seikret minion revealed with the collab rewards and walk away. Whatever happens after is not my business.

The baby Seikret (along with a Vigorwasp minion) is headed to the MMORPG in October when FF14 kicks off its collaboration with Monster Hunter Wilds. I know some of you are disappointed it’s not a Palico, and I get it; they’re cute. But we already got one when Rathalos landed in Stormblood’s crossover with Monster Hunter: World, and you can still unlock the Palico (or Poogie) to this day.

Anyway, look at this guy. An absolutely useless, flightless little chunk of a bird with not a thought behind those eyes. I’ll fight Arkveld all by myself to get one.

The latest update to FF14’s Monster Hunter Wilds crossover site detailed a few other rewards, too, along with more on Arkveld’s trial, The Windward Wilds. You’ll need to reach item level 725 to square up with the wyvern in its normal encounter, and, just like Rathalos, the White Wraith will scale up the difficulty in The Windward Wilds (Extreme). That one also raises the item level requirement to 740.

For those playing catch-up, you’ll need to gear up in more than just main story job gear to hit the 725 requirement, but collecting tomestone pieces shouldn’t add much time to the grind. Hitting item level 740 requires a few more current pieces, but crafted gear makes for an easy shortcut if you’re in a pinch with gil to burn.

And for reference, here are the other Wilds-themed FF14 rewards:

  • Gear styled after the Hope set
  • Arkveld weapons
  • Seikret mount
  • Several housing items

Apparently, that’s not all there is to it, though I’m guessing Square’s “and more” tease means a full gallery of weapons plus the usual extras, like orchestrion rolls for player estates.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

That’s fine, though. We could leave it at that, and I’m satisfied as long as I get a baby Seikret. You got the Poogie by completing The Great Hunt (Extreme) once with an RNG blessing, or five times if you had to grind for Ratholas’ scales. I’m the loser always trading 99 tokens for a reward anyway, so I’ll see y’all in party finder if that’s the case for this little guy.

Crypto-Fueled Rekt Drinks Sells 1 Millionth Can Amid MoonPay Collab

by admin September 19, 2025

In brief

  • Rekt Brands sold its 1 millionth can of its Rekt Drinks flavored sparkling water.
  • The Web3 firm collaborated with payments infrastructure company MoonPay on a peach-raspberry flavor called “Moon Crush.”
  • Rekt incentivizes purchasers of its drinks with the REKT token, which hit an all-time high market cap of $583 million in August.

Web3 consumer firm Rekt Brands sold its 1 millionth can of its Rekt Drinks sparkling water on Friday, surpassing its first major milestone with the sold-out drop of its “Moon Crush” flavor—a peach raspberry-flavored collaboration with payments infrastructure firm MoonPay.

The sale follows Rekt’s previous sellout collaborations with leading Web3 brands like Solana DeFi protocol Jupiter, Ethereum layer-2 network Abstract, and Coinbase’s layer-2 network, Base. Rekt has already worked with a number of crypto-native brands, but says it has been choosy when cultivating collabs.

“We have received a large amount of incoming enquiries from some of crypto’s biggest brands, but it’s super important for us to be selective in order to maintain the premium feel of Rekt,” Rekt Brands co-founder and CEO Ovie Faruq told Decrypt.

(Disclosure: Ovie Faruq’s Canary Labs is an investor in DASTAN, the parent company of Decrypt.)

“We look to work with brands who are able to form partnerships that we feel are truly strategic to Rekt’s goal of becoming one of the largest global beverage brands,” he added.

In particular, Faruq highlighted MoonPay’s role as a “gateway” between non-crypto and crypto users as a reason the collaboration made “perfect sense.”

“We’re thrilled to bring something to life that is both delicious and deeply connected to the crypto community,” MoonPay President Keith Grossman told Decrypt.

Rekt Brands has been bridging the gap between Web3 and the real world with sales of its sparkling water since November 2024. In its first sale, Rekt sold 220,000 cans of its “Liquidated Lime” flavor in less than 48 hours, incentivizing drink buyers with “Drank Points”—the brand’s points program that ultimately manifested in the launch of the REKT crypto token.

While few outside of crypto had heard of the brand at that point, Faruq told Decrypt in June that momentum started to build after it sold out collaborations with Abstract and NFT marketplace OpenSea.

Shortly after, the brand earned placement in three different Southern California 7/11 locations.

Rekt’s Ethereum token reached an all-time high market cap of around $583 million in August, growing nearly 1,400% from its November 2024 launch. It is now trading around a $341 million market cap.

Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 collab release date, all skins, prices

by admin September 16, 2025

An Overwatch 2 collab with Persona 5 is among the major additions set to be added this season, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

We first caught a glimpse of the Persona 5 collab in the Overwatch 2 Season 18 trailer. Just when fans thought things were wrapping up, a silhouette of Joker appeared on screen, complete with the iconic red and black color palette of The Phantom Thieves.

Since then, the hype for the collab has been keeping players busy guessing who’s going to get which character skin from the franchise. Blizzard has been quite tight-lipped about info, and it’s only now that they have finally unveiled the upcoming skins that’ll be included in this crossover.

It’ll still be a little while until it all gets added to the shop, but we’ve compiled all the details you need to know about the collab, including its release date and time, all skins, and their prices.

Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 crossover release date

The Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 collab is set to arrive on September 16, 2025. This information has been confirmed by Blizzard, via their post on X.

As for the exact time, it’s safe to expect that it’ll be available the same time as the next shop reset and when the midseason patch goes live, which typically falls at 11 AM PT.

blizzardA closer look at all the Persona 5 skins in-game.

We know that Joker was eventually going to get a skin in-game since the trailer dropped. But it turns out, there are actually several more characters coming.

Here’s a list of them, along with their Overwatch 2 hero counterpart:

  • Wuyang as Joker
  • Mercy as Panther
  • Lifeweaver as Fox
  • D.Va as Queen
  • Genji as Skull

This lineup means Wuyang is set to receive his first-ever collab skin despite just being recently released this season.

As with any other collabs, it’s also likely that there will be a limited-time event in-game accompanying the skins’ release.

Previous collabs like the Cowboy Bebop and LE SSERAFIM featured a free skin players can unlock through challenges, and only time will tell if it’ll be the same case with Atlus’ well-known franchise.

Skin & bundle prices

At the time of writing, the prices for the cosmetics have yet to be revealed. However, looking at the pricing of Legendary skins and the ones from previous collabs, it’s estimated that the bundle containing each skin with additional cosmetics will be priced at around 2,800 Coins.

Article continues after ad

Additionally, assuming each skin can be bought separately, there’s a chance they might cost around 1,900 Coins.

Though do take all this information with a grain of salt for now, as they’re all based on estimations. We’ll be sure to update this section to provide more details once the skins hit the shop.

While you’re here, check out the best perks to use for every hero, the best Stadium build, as well as how many people play the game.
