Amazon-published chaotic dungeon creator King of Meat gets release date

King of Meat, the Amazon-published dungeon creator action game, now has a release date: 7th October.


Developed by former Lionhead (Fable) and Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet) developers, Glowmade’s game will feature over a hundred dungeons at launch for 1-4 players to complete, filled with battles and traps. Then, players will be able to create their own dungeons and upload for the community to play.


King of Meat will be released across PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and cost £23.95 for the standard edition (or £39.95 for the deluxe edition featuring extra cosmetics).

Ahead of release, Glowmade has stressed the game is not pay-to-win, with all purchases being optional cosmetics, and doesn’t include any form of random monetisation like loot boxes.


Future updates will also be free for those with the base game, though post-launch content is yet to be divulged.


Lastly, for those intrigued, a technical test will run this weekend from 23rd – 24th August on all three platforms – simply search for the game on your platform of choice.


I previously went hands-on with King of Meat last year ahead of its initial unveiling and had a lot of fun with its chaotic party atmosphere.

Scott Pilgrim returns to games in 2026 in chaotic new retro brawler

Scott Pilgrim, all his friends, and the many of the creators who have brought his world to life over the years, are all back for a new game set for release in 2026.

As revealed at Summer Game Fest on Friday, Scott Pilgrim EX is a “time-warped brawling adventure” that sends Scott, Ramona Flowers, and five other playable characters battling across a Toronto ravaged by robots and demons. The new title comes from Tribute Games, the retro-minded studio formed by members of the original Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game team, and comic creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, who worked closely on crafting the new story. The chiptune group Anamanaguchi also returns for the soundtrack.

“In a way it’s kind of natural, and the genesis of Tribute, to go back to that IP,” Tribute marketing and publishing manager Eric Lafontaine told Polygon at a press briefing before the SGF stream. “It’s in our DNA in a way, and it’s just coming back through those roots and doing a great different game. It’s just natural.”

Tribute’s “games that play like you remember them” philosophy worked wonders for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and the studio’s upcoming Marvel Cosmic Invasion, set for later this year, looks just as promising. And while Scott Pilgrim EX shares some creative energy with those games — detailed pixel art, high-impact combat — producer Remi Lavoie says Scott Pilgrim EX is slightly different than those more straightforward brawlers thanks to a non-linear play style.

“This game happens in a really big world of interconnected areas, which you’ll explore at your own pace,” he said. The map, which is fully unlocked when players begin the game, is inspired by the classic NES beat-’em-up River City Ransom, which broke ground with an “open-world” approach to staging. While the quests in Scott Pilgrim EX will have linear progression, players will be able to jump around and get right down to business, as all of their moves and combos will be available from the get go too.

“Scott Pilgrim is really more of an adventure game where you progress through the world and complete quests, [while] Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a bit more similar to the traditional beat-’em-ups with completing stage after stage,” Lavoie said. “So they’re both very different, even in the combat mechanics: [Scott Pilgrim EX] features a lot of weapons, everyday objects that you can pick up and use as weapons.”

Lavoie said the team really leaned in on the chaos of the experience for Scott Pilgrim EX, which also counts Scott Pilgrim Takes Off writer BenDavid Grabinski as a creative partner and is technically set after the events of the anime. “Part of it is embracing that wacky timeline,” he said. “It’s a story written with Bryan and it’s really its own thing, but technically it happens after the events of the animated series.” And the loopy quality of the story is reflected in the art and play; the stages in EX are overflowing with classic game references while the number of objects that can be deployed as weapons should make the game’s four-player co-op (in person or online) a total circus.

Both Lavoie and Lafontaine agreed that there were very few hurdles that Tribute had to clear to make their dream version of Scott Pilgrim EX. The history of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game isn’t just a legacy, but a foundation on how to produce a top-quality installment of this unlikely franchise.

“The fact that the team is so small and we’re so close with Bryan and Universal, it’s such a quick environment for us to be creative, balance ideas, get things approved, make things happen,” Lafontaine said.

Scott Pilgrim EX is currently on track for a 2026 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation platforms, Windows PC, and Xbox platforms.

During the recent Shacknews’ Indie Showcase, Daruma Games revealed a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming cooperative rougelike spaceship sim, Sol Mates, which will launch in early access on Steam in 2025.

SAN FRANCISCO – June 4, 2025 – Independent game development studio Daruma Games today shared a new gameplay trailer for their debut title, Sol Mates, during Shacknews’ indie showcase.

Sol Mates is a chaotic co-op party game for 1-4 players that can be played locally or online. Steer, shield and blast your way through the galaxy, taking on space pirates, giant alien crabs, and sassy onboard AIs. Grow your space agency as you take on kooky requests, make story decisions together and soar among the stars in this cooperative roguelike spaceship sim.

Fill a bit of year-long wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 with this chaotic new game

Look, it’s time to face reality: it’ll be another year until you can play Grand Theft Auto 6. I know, I know — you were probably hoping that you’d wake up this week and discover that its delay to May 26, 2026 was just a dream. Sadly, them’s the breaks, kid. You’re going to need to play some other things to fill that gap, whether its something like Mafia: The Old Country or other vehicular crime games like Mario Kart World (at least the way I plan to play it).

But don’t worry, I’m not just here to bum you out. I am nothing if not constructive, so I come bearing a recommendation to help ease your sorrow, if only for a few weeks. Deliver at All Costs is a delightfully chaotic new game that takes inspiration from the original Grand Theft Auto games, back when the series had a top-down perspective. It’s a compact slice of open-world mayhem that GTA fans are sure to get a kick out of.

Published by Konami, Deliver at All Costs follows a delivery driver named Winston who gets a new gig in the quiet town of St. Monique circa 1959. His job is simple: deliver packages around town in his crappy pick up truck. How hard can that be?

To answer that question, Deliver at All Costs begins with one heck of a joke. At the very start of the game, I exit my apartment and get into my car. I instinctively press down my right trigger to accelerate. Instead of moving forward, my car blasts backwards and crashes through a storefront that crumbles into a million pieces. It’s a perfect introduction. It not only tells me that every piece of the city is destructible, but also that I’m in for a full slapstick comedy of errors.

That’s what the full game delivers over the course of its varied jobs, each of which plays with physics in creative ways. In one mission, I need to haul a living Marlin across town. It thrashes in the backseat of my truck, throwing off my steering. Another mission has me delivering a balloon inflating machine, one that keeps lifting my truck into the air anytime my wheels even slightly come off the ground. All of that happens from a top down perspective that pulls inspiration from Grand Theft Auto 2.

A game like this lives and dies by how many ways it can twist a simple idea around. While its frontloaded with its best jokes, there are a lot of comedic gags throughout that keep missions diverse. One highlight tasks me with racing toy cars to kids around a neighborhood, piloting them almost like unwieldy slot cars. The cops take notice and deploy a squad of tiny police cars after me, which try to ram into my vehicles and blow them up. I didn’t know what to expect next from each mission, which kept me playing even when its dull story and traditional open-world collect-a-thon hooks didn’t hold my interest.

The real appeal, though, is more primal. The fully destructible maps are just a delight to crash into. For the most part, I tried to do my job like a good upstanding citizen, obeying traffic laws as best as possible. Naturally, that’s not always possible. I’d often find myself barreling through a building and watching bits and pieces fly out of it as I accelerated through the other side. The citizens of its explorable spaces don’t take kindly to being plowed over either, as they’ll attack my truck and force me to get out and repair it. Fortunately, I can craft upgrades to help me deal with that, like hydraulic doors that I can use to knock away pesky pedestrians. It all makes for some satisfying emergent comedy as I turn quiet 1950s towns into my own personal demotion derby.

While it feels a little long in the tooth for what it is and uses its best ideas too fast, Deliver at All Costs is a fun little gem in the vein of something like Maneater. That is to say that it delivers a light, fun, and funny premise and executes it well enough to make it all worth the curiosity. And hey, what else are you going to do for the next year while you wait for Grand Theft Auto 6? Get behind the wheel and deliver some chaos.
