Approaching its tenth year out, exploration and crafting hit Astroneer shows no signs of slowing down as developer System Era Softworks has announced a new full, paid expansion called Astroneer: Megatech. It’s due out this November, with an accompanying free update, and will bring a new scale of construction to your exploratory infrastructure.

“Unlock the ability to build massive Megastructure projects that will test your base building skills through the use of both new and existing technology. Harness the power of Megatech to take base building and automation to a whole new level,” says developer System Era Softworks.

The free update will introduce a cargo system, an interplanetary transport network designed to ferry resources from one base to another without your little astroneer personally leading the charge and unloading everything. It’ll be a huge boon for those who loved Astroneer’s previously-added automation features.

The others, however, look pretty mysterious. One in concept art is some kind of massive greenhouse-like structure with a glass roof. Another is a deliciously vague giant bulb of a building that looks like it eats entire resource canisters for breakfast and puts them to work on some kind of giant… wheel… thing.

The last one I’ve spotted is the admittedly obvious one: A huge ring platform built around the small moon of one planet. There’s a lot going on there, but it’s clearly meant to be a central, space-based platform for your operations to work out of. Which is cool as hell, to be honest, but will probably take a boatload of resources to complete. For my part, I’m wondering if it’s mobile. Do those look more like engines or asteroid grabbers to you?

You can find Astroneer: Megatech on Steam, where it’s supposed to release in November. If you haven’t had the pleasure of Astroneer-ing, well, it’s apparently 67% off until September 8.

If you missed it, earlier this year System Era Softworks announced its next game, the Astroneer-adjacent-but-not-a-sequel Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions. It’s to be a “a multiplayer voyage of discovery.” System Era has apparently enlisted a second studio, Red Kite Games, to assist with Astroneer’s continued development while they also work on Starseeker. AMBTS Raises $23.2M to Build BTC Treasury

Amsterdam Bitcoin Treasury Strategy (AMBTS), established by Dutch crypto-asset service provider Amdax, has raised €20 million ($23.2 million) in its initial financing round. The funding, secured through private placements, will seed the company’s bitcoin accumulation strategy. The round, capped at €30 million ($34.8 million), is expected to close in September 2025.

The proceeds will support AMBTS’s plan to establish one of the first independent bitcoin treasury companies in Europe, with a listing on Euronext Amsterdam. Over the long term, AMBTS aims to grow its holdings to at least 1% of all bitcoin in circulation.

Marc van der Chijs, founder of bitcoin miner Hut 8, is among the early backers.

IBM and AMD have announced plans to “build the future of computing” by collaborating on new architecture to blend quantum systems with high-performance hardware in a bid to solve some of the world’s most difficult problems.

The partnership will combine IBM’s expertise in building quantum computers and related software with AMD’s background in processors, graphics, and AI accelerators in a step toward quantum-centric supercomputing.

The companies are looking at ways in which to integrate AMD CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs with IBM’s quantum computers, with the ultimate goal to accelerate emerging algorithms that neither quantum nor classical systems can handle on their own.

Pushing past the limits

“Quantum computing will simulate the natural world and represent information in an entirely new way,” said Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO, IBM.

“By exploring how quantum computers from IBM and the advanced high-performance compute technologies of AMD can work together, we will build a powerful hybrid model that pushes past the limits of traditional computing.”

The two tech giants will work together to build open-source platforms that can scale and support research in fields such as drug development, materials science, and supply chain optimization.

Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, also emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying, “High-performance computing is the foundation for solving the world’s most important challenges. As we partner with IBM to explore the convergence of high-performance computing and quantum technologies, we see tremendous opportunities to accelerate discovery and innovation.”

AMD has previously worked on some of the world’s fastest supercomputers, including Frontier and El Capitan.

This hybrid approach is also expected to support IBM’s roadmap toward fault-tolerant quantum computing, a milestone the company has said it hopes to reach before the end of the decade.

IBM has already begun similar work with other partners including Riken in Japan, as well as institutions like Cleveland Clinic and Lockheed Martin.

An initial demonstration is planned for later this year and will show how IBM quantum computers can work alongside AMD technology to deliver hybrid quantum-classical workflows.

The partnership will support open-source ecosystems, such as Qiskit, in a bid to encourage the development of algorithms for quantum-centric supercomputing.

The expansion is accompanied by aggressive growth plans. Hut 8 announced it is building 1.53 gigawatts (GW) of further capacity at four U.S. locations in Louisiana, Texas, and Illinois. When finished, the projects will increase the company’s power in management more than two times to 2.55 GW.

Benchmark analyst Mark Palmer called the update a turning point and lifted his price target on Hut 8 shares to $36 from $33 and holds a buy rating. With the shares closing just shy of $26 yesterday, that means nearly 40% potential gain.

Palmer underscored that spinning off the mining business into ABTC enables Hut 8 to position itself as an energy infrastructure company, de-risking exposure to Bitcoin volatility while enabling the access to lower-cost financing.

Supported by $2.4 billion liquidity, including reserves of bitcoin, credit facilities, and an equity program, Hut 8 is positioning itself as a proxy for bitcoin as well as a major player in AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.

No Man’s Sky adds fully customisable multi-crew spaceships you can build and fly with your friends

Space can be a lonely place, what with it being – as a wise man once famously put it – so vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big and all. Which is where No Man’s Sky new Voyagers update comes in. Now, those long treks across the infinite expanse needn’t be quite so lonely thanks to the introduction of multi-crew space ships you can build, pilot, and stroll around with friends.


Customisable ships – not to be confused with No Man’s Sky’s existing customisable freighters, which essentially serve as gargantuan deep space bases – have been at the top of many a fan’s wishlist for quite some time. And today’s Voyagers update look to deliver and then some. After progressing to a certain point in the story, players gain access to a hangar-like workshop where new Corvette spaceships can be engineered both outside and within. Customisable components include hulls, wings, landing gear, engine parts, thrusters, and weapons, and all can be arranged to suit players’ whims.


And then there’s the habitable interior. “Add sleeping quarters,” developer Hello Games explains, “and you are ready to welcome a crew of friends on board. Add a mission radar and you are ready for adventure. A teleporter and you have an away team.” There’s also talk of med-bays and war rooms, or you can just add a window and watch the universe go by. And for thrillseekers, it’s even possible to flip open the Corvette’s airlock and go for a space walk together or, once within a planet’s atmosphere, sky dive to the ground.

While newcomers to No Man’s Sky won’t have immediate access to Corvette construction given its unlock requirements, they’ll still be able to experience the feature in a brand-new limited-time Expedition. Alongside the usual array of cosmetic rewards, this’ll also unlock some ship parts players might find useful when trying to build their own vehicles in the core sim.


Hello Games says it’s had to rework “almost every part” of No Man’s Sky to accommodate Corvettes and their relative spaces, and to ensure crews can still roam their ship’s corridors and continue editing during the likes of warp jumps and planetary approaches. Much of the tech, it says, is shared with its upcoming Light No Fire, which will feature vast oceans players can similarly explore together on a single boat. This isn’t the first time No Man’s Sky has adopted technology implemented for Hello Games’ Earth-sized planet sim.


And it sounds like Hello Games is still far from done. “The most exciting thing about Voyagers for me,” writes Hello Games’ boss Sean Murray, “is the possibilities it opens in the future for No Man’s Sky, and I can’t wait to see where the team takes it from here.” And if you want to know more about No Man’s Sky’s Voyagers update, full patch notes can be found over here.

French Chipmaker Sequans Plans $200 Million Share Sale to Build Bitcoin Treasury

Sequans Communications (NYSE: SQNS), a Paris-based semiconductor firm listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has filed to raise up to $200 million through an at-the-market equity program, with proceeds directed primarily toward Bitcoin purchases under its long-term treasury strategy.

The new program supports the first phase of Sequan’s efforts at establishing its treasury foundation. Sequans intends “to use it judiciously to optimize treasury,” CEO Dr. Georges Karam said in a statement on Tuesday.

Its latest SEC filing enables the company to issue American Depositary Shares at its discretion. ADSs are certificates that allow U.S. investors to trade shares of foreign companies on American exchanges.



In July, Sequans also raised $189 million through secured convertible debentures and warrants, bringing total recent financing to roughly $376 million.

So far, Sequans already holds more than 3,000 Bitcoin, worth about $331 million at current prices, making it one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin in Europe, behind only Germany’s Bitcoin Group SE. It has also set an ambitious target of 100,000 by 2030.

‘Scalable if tailored’

Raising equity to buy Bitcoin “certainly dilutes existing shareholders, and it ties the company’s valuation more directly to Bitcoin’s volatility,” Dan Dadybayo, research and strategy lead at Unstoppable Wallet, told Decrypt.

But these prospects largely depend on execution, he argues.

“Equity-funded BTC purchases act less like speculative punts and more like leveraged exposure: shareholders accept dilution in exchange for long-term alignment with Bitcoin’s growth,” he said.

Still, “smaller firms can innovate using structured financing, options strategies, or BTC-backed deals to accumulate effectively. The model is not copy-paste, but scalable if tailored,” Dadybayo said.

Dadybayo adds the risk isn’t with short-term price swings, but on “whether the company can maintain operational discipline and avoid overextension during downturns.”

While Sequans can “accumulate BTC at scale relative to its size,” he notes that it lacks “the financial cushion to absorb prolonged drawdowns without shareholder pain.”

Anthropic will nuke your attempt to use AI to build a nuke

If you’re the type of person who asks Claude how to make a sandwich, you’re fine. If you’re the type of person who asks the AI chatbot how to build a nuclear bomb, you’ll not only fail to get any blueprints, you might also face some pointed questions of your own. That’s thanks to Anthropic’s newly deployed detector of problematic nuclear prompts.

Like other systems for spotting queries Claude shouldn’t respond to, the new classifier scans user conversations, in this case flagging any that veer into “how to build a nuclear weapon” territory. Anthropic built the classification feature in a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), giving it all the information it needs to determine whether someone is just asking about how such bombs work or if they’re looking for blueprints. It’s performed with 96% accuracy in tests.

Though it might seem over-the-top, Anthropic sees the issue as more than merely hypothetical. The chance that powerful AI models may have access to sensitive technical documents and could pass along a guide to building something like a nuclear bomb worries federal security agencies. Even if Claude and other AI chatbots block the most obvious attempts, innocent-seeming questions could in fact be veiled attempts at crowdsourcing weapons design. The new AI chatbot generations might help even if it’s not what their developers intend.

The classifier works by drawing a distinction between benign nuclear content, asking about nuclear propulsion, for instance, and the kind of content that could be turned to malicious use. Human moderators might struggle to keep up with any gray areas at the scale AI chatbots operate, but with proper training, Anthropic and the NNSA believe the AI could police itself. Anthropic claims its classifier is already catching real-world misuse attempts in conversations with Claude.

Nuclear AI safety

Nuclear weapons in particular represent a uniquely tricky problem, according to Anthropic and its partners at the DoE. The same foundational knowledge that powers legitimate reactor science can, if slightly twisted, provide the blueprint for annihilation. The arrangement between Anthropic and the NNSA could catch deliberate and accidental disclosures, and set up a standard to prevent AI from being used to help make other weapons, too. Anthropic plans to share its approach with the Frontier Model Forum AI safety consortium.

The narrowly tailored filter is aimed at making sure users can still learn about nuclear science and related topics. You still get to ask about how nuclear medicine works, or whether thorium is a safer fuel than uranium.

What the classifier attempts to circumvent are attempts to turn your home into a bomb lab with a few clever prompts. Normally, it would be questionable if an AI company could thread that needle, but the expertise of the NNSA should make the classifier different from a generic content moderation system. It understands the difference between “explain fission” and “give me a step-by-step plan for uranium enrichment using garage supplies.”

This doesn’t mean Claude was previously helping users design bombs. But it could help forestall any attempt to do so. Stick to asking about the way radiation can cure diseases or ask for creative sandwich ideas, not bomb blueprints.

Major Exchanges Join In

Reports have disclosed that several major platforms are already on board. Ripple, the San Francisco-based payments firm, sits alongside OKX, Crypto.com, and Anchorage Digital as inaugural members.

TRM Labs also secured cooperation from Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken to share the real-time status of flagged addresses. The more firms that share information, the harder it becomes for launderers to slip through the gaps.

This kind of cooperation speeds up investigations and gives law enforcement a better shot at recovering stolen coins.

Real-World Pressure Test: The Bybit Heist

According to reports about the February hack on Bybit, a gang tied to North Korea’s Lazarus Group made off with about $1.5 billion.

That case shows why Beacon’s approach matters. Hackers used cross-chain tactics and quick movement to wash funds.

When time is on the side of the thieves, freezing assets later often comes too late. Beacon aims to change that by alerting exchanges while the trail is still fresh.

Gaps Remain Around Stablecoins

Not everyone is a participant yet. TRM Labs did not list stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle among the initial collaborators. That’s important because stablecoins move a lot of stolen value and can be the vehicle for quick exits.

If major stablecoin issuers don’t link into the system, criminals may still find ways to route funds through liquidity pools and corners of the market that aren’t watching. This is a weakness Beacon will need to close if it wants real effectiveness.

You can build 136 million different houses in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s new DLC, if you really must

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s forthcoming Legacy of the Forge expansion introduces a new home customisation system, as part of a story about restoring a legendary burnt-down blacksmith’s joint where your dad once worked as an apprentice.

Out September 9th, the expansion takes Henry of Skalitz back to Kuttenberg to climb the ranks of the blacksmith guild, with unique armour and weapon blueprints. Expect “quirky” requests from clients, but above all, expect a nagging sense of failure, because the aforesaid customisation system “supports over 136 million combinations”, and always, always at the back of your mind, the creeping suspicion that yours is the very worst.

Do I sound needlessly weary? I’m sorry, I just hate when PRs do the “XX million possible combinations thing” (obligatory disclosure: I’ve probably enthusiastically written up such promises in the past). I can poke myself in the face 136 million ways while eating dinner, Warhorse – that doesn’t mean I care to do so. Nobody needs a million different versions of anything, not even the Pokemon Company.

Also, I confidently predict based on gruelling experience and the below trailer that 120 million of those combinations will be indistinguishable. It’ll be a case of moving mead cups fractionally sideways on tables to drive the chatbox crazy, you mark my words. When they release this DLC, somebody (not me) should try to make all 136 million possible houses out of spite. Then we can turn Kingdom: Come Deliverance 2 into a giant game of spot-the-difference. Or perhaps an absolutely terrible medieval version of Blue Prince.

The overabundance of house variations is more relatable when you consider that finding a safe place to sleep, rest and eat your vittles is one of Deliverance 2’s earlier challenges. There may indeed be 136 million places in pre-industrial Bohemia where it would be unsafe to sleep, even if the game permitted it.

When not building houses and fighting the sense that there are 135 million, nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine ways you could have done it better, you’ll spend the new DLC venturing “down memory lane”, seeking after friends of your dead father and uncovering a part of his life “that has remained hidden – until now.” Perhaps your dad was secretly the 15th century equivalent of Dorothy Draper.

You’ll forge new friendships alongside fancy swords, and explore the effects of different home furnishings on your abilities. It’s probably good fun, on the whole. I did quite enjoy the base game, on balance. Still, stop threatening me with large numbers, Deep Silver, I am a person of culture.

Studio Atelico raises $5 million to build AI-first games studio

Studio Atelico has raised $5 million in a seed investment round, which will be used to support the team’s mission “to redefine the role of generative AI in games.”

The funding round was led by Nathan Benaich of Air Street Capital, which announced the investment via its publication, Air Street Press, on August 14, 2025. Other investors include Stanford computer scientist Chris Ré, Hugging Face co-founder and CSO Thomas Wolf, and Snorkel AI co-founder and CEO Alex Ratner.

Founded in 2024 by AI and gaming industry veterans from Uber, Meta, and Creative Assembly, Studio Atelico is building an on-device AI engine for video games, which the company describes in its own press release as “a toolkit that helps us and other studios bring AI-powered experiences to life without massive budgets or custom infrastructure.”

In addition to building this engine, Studio Atelico is using the funding to “build games that push past the boundaries of hand-authored pipelines.”

“We don’t mean ‘generate a few trees procedurally,’” the company explained in its release. “We mean reactive worlds, characters that riff off your choices like improv actors, stories that don’t just branch but bloom. This is the kind of gameplay we’ve always wanted as players, and now we finally have the tech (and the team) to make it real.”

Studio Atelico’s first game is already in development, with more to be shared “soon.” While the company itself hasn’t said much about what this game will be, Air Street Press said the studio’s first releases “will target high-growth mobile and cross-platform markets.”

In its release, the company also addressed ethical concerns around generative AI.

“Ethics aren’t an afterthought; they’re part of our foundation,” Studio Atelico said. “We’re working directly with artists to ensure fairness, consent, compensation, and collaboration are part of every step, from model training to revenue sharing.

“We’re choosing on-device AI when we can, partnering with creators who share our values, and contributing to open datasets that prioritize ethics over speed.”

“We believe creativity should be amplified, not replaced,” the company added.
