A gaming PC in the process of being built, using Radeon and Ryzen components and an Asus Pro Art PA401 PC case.

Moody and wooden, this PC and I have a lot in common: Asus ProArt Case PA401, Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT build

by admin September 15, 2025

Our build process

Every month we build a gaming PC with the latest components and cases—it’s good to get stuck in and build something regularly in our opinion. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next build, or you’re new to the hobby, you can check out our picks below. You can easily make changes to these too, and in some cases, we hope you do. We’re building and testing every PC we highlight, and if we run into any issues, we’ll explain them here.

Sometimes less is more, and this PC build epitomises that concept. I can’t claim all the credit; the Asus ProArt PA401 is a gem. The wood finish down the front panels, the all-black interior, and the clever switches that make it a breeze are all to thank for that. Now I do realise the irony of saying less is more and placing two sticks of G.Skill’s finest gold-plated, faux-crystal RAM sticks in there, but they don’t look anything near as garish as they sound.

This is an all-AMD gaming PC; my slight obsession with using the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in full force here. It’s a powerful gaming chip for a reasonable price—3D V-Cache working a treat for improving frame rates. If you wanted to improve further, you could opt for the 16 cores of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but you’ll pay a tall fee for that. No, the 9800X3D works great here, and most of all in combination with the Asus Prime 9070 XT I’ve selected to go with it.

Quick list

  • Case: Asus ProArt PA401 Wood Edition – $140/£120
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Pro X870E – $350/£324
  • Graphics card: Asus Prime Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition 16 GB – $643/£630
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D – $472/£420
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo RGB 32 GB @ 6000 MT/s – $180/£170
  • SSD: Biwin Black Opal X570 Pro 2 TB – ~$230/£210
  • Cooler: Asus Prime LC 240 ARGB – $80/£96
  • PSU: Corsair RM850x – $145/£135
  • Fans: Included with case
  • Total: $2,240/£2,105

Everyone Thinks Elon Musk is Going to Build a SpaceX Mobile Network

by admin September 15, 2025

SpaceX’s has been partnering with mobile carriers like T-Mobile to offer its satellite internet service Starlink to extend the reach of cell networks. But, according to a report from the Washington Post, the company has ambitions to be more than just a partner. Following a major purchase of wireless spectrum earlier this week, it appears everyone is expecting Elon Musk’s company to get into the wireless network business for itself.

On Monday, it was reported that SpaceX was finalizing a deal with satellite communications company EchoStar, the parent company of Dish Network, to buy up $17 billion worth of wireless spectrum. All signs suggest that SpaceX is after that spectrum to help build out Starlink’s 5G network, with the rumored goal to move satellite connectivity for phones beyond just emergency services and access in remote locations to a full-blown mobile network.

Musk hasn’t exactly backed away from the rumors. In an appearance on the All-In Podcast, he claimed the newly acquired spectrum would allow the company to deliver “high-bandwidth connectivity” directly from satellites to connected devices, albeit with a two-year lead time to get everything set up. “The net effect is you should be able to watch videos anywhere on your phone,” he said. That’s a big jump from Starlink’s current network offerings, which is currently only used for sending and receiving texts. The company claims it’ll offer voice calls soon. And that two-year timeline? Take it with a grain of salt, given Musk’s longstanding history of overpromising, but it does at least give some clarity as to his company’s end goal.

As for starting up a network to compete with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, Musk didn’t rule it out when talking to the All-In guys, who are always more than happy to drink the Kool-Aid unprompted. Musk said that purchasing a mobile network provider like Verizon in the future is “not out of the question.” According to The Washington Post’s reporting, Starlink likely doesn’t have the spectrum to compete in urban environments where volume is massive and competitors have the infrastructure advantage when it comes to handling that traffic. So getting into those spaces may require an acquisition rather than building its own network.

If Musk and SpaceX were to go that route, it’s unlikely they would face regulatory hurdles under the current administration. As WaPo pointed out, Brendan Carr, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission appointed by Donald Trump, called SpaceX’s spectrum purchase a “potential game changer” for mobile networks. You’re probably not going to see an in-depth review of potential antitrust concerns when the top cop on the beat has pom-poms in his hands.

Best Borderlands 4 Rafa build

by admin September 11, 2025

Borderlands 4’s Rafa, the Exo Soldier, might look like a walking tank with his cannons and blades, but he’s only as strong as the build you put together.

With four Vault Hunters to pick from, each with a different fighting style, Rafa’s kit is all about heavy ordnance and shock damage. Whether you prefer charged blasts, auto-turrets, or dashing melee combos, Rafa has a build that can fit your playstyle.

So, if you’ve tested Amon, Vex, or Harlowe and settled on this powerhouse in an exosuit, you’re in the right place. Here’s the best build for Rafa in Borderlands 4.

Article continues after ad

Gearbox

Best Rafa build

The best build for Rafa focuses on Peacebreaker Cannons for survivability and damage, while mixing in Overdrive for extra DPS and shield sustain. His other playstyles, the Lance and Arc Knives, are excellent alternatives, but the cannon build offers the strongest foundation for new players.

  • Best skills: Bullet Buddy Deluxe, Instincto, Unmissable Missiles, Shielded Systems, Overclocked Reload, Grenadier Sync, Thundercutter
  • Best Action Skill for solo: Peacebreaker Cannons
  • Best Action Skill for co-op: Arc Knives
  • Capstone: Beam Team or Hurricane of Special depending on build
  • Weapon type: High fire-rate elemental guns to pair with shield regen and Overdrive bonuses

Best skills to choose

Solo

Action Skill: Peacebreaker Cannons

Article continues after ad

Peacebreaker Cannons deploy Rafa’s shoulder-mounted turrets, auto-firing kinetic gun damage at enemies ahead. With augments like Bullet Buddy Deluxe for ammo regen and bonus fire damage, and Instincto for crit bursts, this becomes Rafa’s most reliable all-round solo setup.

Gearbox

Ammo regen during cannons, bonus fire damage scaling with mag size

Activate cannons for crit chance, re-activate for double crit and hit damage

Re-activate to fire a homing rocket volley

Increased shield recharge rate while Overdrive is active

Kills restore a portion of your shield

Bonus gun damage while shields are up, doubled at full shield

One cannon becomes shock beam, the other corrosive beam, bonus status effect damage

Co-op

Action Skill: Arc Knives

Arc Knives turn Rafa into a melee bruiser with dashes, shock combos, and mark mechanics. In groups, this makes Rafa the perfect frontline disruptor, marking targets for allies and detonating them for AoE bursts.

Best Capstone

Rafa has several strong Capstone options:

Article continues after ad

  • Beam Team is the best for Peacebreaker builds, turning your cannons into elemental beams with status synergies.
  • Hurricane of Special makes Arc Knives devastating in groups, pulling enemies into shock singularities.
  • Inferno Protocol offers a high-risk, high-reward fire reflection setup that heals you as you unleash damage.

Weapon type

Rafa works best with fast-firing elemental weapons that keep up his DPS while his Action Skills cycle. SMGs and ARs are ideal, as they synergize with his shield sustain passives.

Avoid slow, single-shot rifles when using cannons. You’ll want consistent uptime and ammo feeding. For Arc Knife builds, melee-enhancing gear and shock/corrosive combos work best.

How to play Rafa

Rafa is built for aggression, so you should play him accordingly.

  • In solo play, Peacebreaker Cannons give you survivability through shield regen and ammo sustain, letting you handle both mobs and bosses. Use Beam Team to apply status effects for extra damage.
  • In co-op, Arc Knives shine by letting you dive in, mark enemies, and detonate them for huge team burst damage. With Hurricane of Special, you control entire groups while allies clean up.
  • The Lance remains Rafa’s precision option, which is great for sniping elites or piercing mini-bosses, especially with Engorged Ball or Project Gorgon for AoE.

So, that’s all you need to know about how to build the perfect Vex in Borderlands 4. While exploring Kairos, be sure to check out how to bag some free rewards through Twitch Drops, or all Borderlands games in order.

Best Borderlands 4 Amon build

by admin September 10, 2025

Borderlands 4’s Amon may look tough and unstoppable with an easy playstyle, but he’s only as strong as you build him.

There are four different characters to choose from in Borderlands 4, each representing a different fighting style. Sure, you can certainly try and fit a character into whatever playstyle you want, but some thrive in their own specialties, like Amon and fire.

So, if you’ve sifted through Vex, Rafa, and the powerful Harlowe and settled on this beast of a fighter, you’re in the right place, as we have the best build right here, just for you (and anyone else reading, but don’t think about that).

Article continues after ad

Best Amon build

The best build for Amon focuses on Incendiary (fire) and taking damage, essentially making him almost unkillable when you unlock the right skills, especially with his Capstone.

  • Best skills: Executioner, Twin Tempers, Bolt Action, Reactive Armor, Dragon’s Breath, Fists of Stone
  • Best Action Skill for solo: Crucible
  • Best Action Skill for co-op: Onslaughter
  • Capstone: Conflangarang
  • Weapon type: Incendiary

2k

Best skills to choose

Solo

Action Skill: Crucible

Crucible is undeniably the best Action Skill you can choose for a solo Amon build. It offers him Forgeaxes that can be thrown and picked up off the ground, nullifying their cooldown. You can choose between a Flame Axe or a Frost Axe, dealing Incendiary or Cryo damage, respectively.

Article continues after ad

Article continues after ad

What’s most powerful, though, is the fact that enemies damaged by these axes are primed and will detonate when they die, dealing AoE damage. This is incredibly powerful on your own, as you can just enable it, throw it at smaller enemies, and let them explode, killing all the other ones around them.

To find the skill you want, type it into the filter under skill to uncover whether it’s a good one to invest in and how many points you should put into it.

Description

Gains increased Critical Hit Damage. The effect is Doubled for a Duration after dealing Melee Damage.

When Amon activates his Forgeskill, he spawns an Axe Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a duration.

Tempered Pyre now spawns an additional Axe Forgedrone that deals Cryo Melee Damage.

Co-op

Action Skill: Onslaughter

The method of fighting and the use of skills are pretty much the same whether you’re playing co-op or solo, but the Action Skill and how you fight are completely different.

Thanks to Onslaughter, which allows Amon to overload his Forgefist to gain a constant Shield Regeneration, bonus Incendiary Damage with Gun, and increased Movement Speed, your job is to essentially be the tank, and a powerful one at that.

To find the skill you want, type it into the filter under skill to uncover whether it’s a good one to invest in and how many points you should put into it.

Best Capstone

The best Capstone for Amon is easily Conflangarang. With this, your Double-Edge will deal Incendiary Melee Damage in both directions, leaving fire and dealing Incendiary Damage over time.

2k

Given you’re primarily a fire-based character, dealing this level of damage, working off melee while still being a ways away, and having damage over time is extremely powerful.

Grab this as soon as you can, and make the most of it. Whether you’re fighting a boss or a group of Bandits, it’ll decimate them.

Article continues after ad

Weapon type

Given all the builds above, it’s not much of a surprise to see that the best weapon type for Amon is Incendiary.

Sure, you’ll mostly be using melee, but gun attacks are also really important. Line yourself up with your favorite weapon and ensure it deals fire damage.

Article continues after ad

You can choose pretty much any weapon you’re comfortable with here, but it’s recommended you stay away from long-range guns, like Snipers. Nothing good ever came out of a tank using a sniper.

Article continues after ad

How to play Amon

Amon is a tank through and through. He thrives up close and personal to the enemies and doesn’t shy away from damage thanks to his ever-increasing shield.

Once you get to a high enough level and begin utilizing these skills, you’ll become an almost unkillable machine whose shield recovers quicker than the enemies can damage you.

2k

Use your Conflangarang as much as possible, and just focus on tanking, hitting, and letting the enemies come to you. There’s no need for any fancy abilities outside of the Forgedrones.

Article continues after ad

The same goes whether you’re working solo or with friends. If you’re solo, you may end up getting a little overwhelmed on occasion, so keep moving around. If you’re playing co-op, then your friends should be the ones killing the enemies while you tank the hits and keep them off the squishier members of your party.

Midnight and Webisoft to Build Privacy-Focused Dark Pool DEX

by admin September 7, 2025

Midnight has partnered with Webisoft to launch a decentralized dark pool trading platform built for institutional investors. The platform will operate on the Midnight network and use advanced zero-knowledge (ZK) proof technology to keep trades completely private.

Midnight confirmed the update on X, “Midnight Webisoft is joining forces with the midnight foundation to build an institutional-grade dark pool trading platform. This project will use Midnight’s privacy-enhancing technology to create a secure, fully anonymous decentralized exchange (DEX).”

The partnership… pic.twitter.com/zUDDrJeK1S

— Midnight (@MidnightNtwrk) September 5, 2025

The partnership solves a big problem for institutional finance in decentralized ecosystems: the necessity for privacy is at odds with the fact that public blockchains are open to everyone. It will also give developers access to a full set of DeFi tools.

Tackling Transparency Challenges in DeFi

As per the blog post, traditional decentralized exchanges reveal all buy and sell orders, exposing large trades to the market. Consequently, this transparency creates price slippage and inefficiencies when institutions execute big orders. A single trade can lead to panic or excitement, moving prices before transactions are complete.

Dark pools solve this issue by hiding trade intentions. Buyers and sellers match privately, and trades finalize at market-driven prices. This protects confidentiality until after execution, preventing disruption.

Both companies intend to bring the model to Web3, combining privacy with avant-garde DeFi capabilities. The platform will be based on Midnight’s Zswap protocol to ensure secure atomic settlements.

It will also feature a private matching engine using multi-party computation (MPC) and custom wallet support through MetaMask Snap. Moreover, developers will access open-source tools to build privacy-preserving applications on the network.

Rational Privacy for Regulatory Balance

The project builds on Midnight’s concept of rational privacy. As Midnight Foundation President Fahmi Syed stated, “Privacy is a fundamental human and digital right, yet in our current systems, users give everything away just to participate.”

The platform allows institutions to confirm trades by using ZK proofs without revealing any sensitive information. This method tackles regulatory issues and ensures that user privacy is upheld.

Syed also emphasized, “Traditional blockchains make every transaction permanent and public. That’s a barrier to real-world adoption.”

The roadmap has confidential asset management, MPC-powered matching, and audited security reports. All components will be released under an Apache 2.0 license, encouraging broad developer adoption.

This collaboration could accelerate institutional adoption of DeFi by delivering privacy, compliance, and scalability, bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems.

Build your own spaceship body as you fly in Jitter, an asteroid-heavy physics-based survival sim
Game Updates

Build your own spaceship body as you fly in Jitter, an asteroid-heavy physics-based survival sim

by admin September 3, 2025

I guess the simplest way to describe Jitter is that it’s Heat Signature, the hectic spaceship hijacking game from Suspicious Developments, but you are the spaceship, not the hijacker, and also, you can glue pieces of other ships onto yourself, like in Captain Forever, and also, this looks a bit like Lemmings on the Game Boy. Boil that down, and we have a brand new subgenre, the Hot Lemming Boy Foreverlike, which… let’s maybe forget I wrote the words “Hot Lemming Boy Foreverlike”. Let’s proceed without further reflection to this video showcasing the combat.

Watch on YouTube

If the above description confuses and alarms you, there’s a cleaner one on the game’s Steam page. “Jitter is an immersive sci-fi exploration and survival game set on a mining colony and its outskirts in the Main Asteroid Belt,” it reads. “You assume the role of an experimental AI that maintains ship functions and engages with the crew on board. As you explore the mining colony, you will take on new missions, expand ships and bases using various modules, add survivors to your crew, engage in space fights, and repair the damage left by enemy fire and onboard accidents.”

Cue impressive scenes of your greenish top-down AI core chewing through asteroids like a lemming through a baguette. Shoo, lemming! That’s my lunch, not an asteroid, and since when do lemmings eat asteroids, anyway.

No time for lunch, though, because it’s time to talk about simulation systems. As in FTL, you’ll organise the generation and flow of power and oxygen around your craft as you expand it, ensuring that you still, for example, have the means to swiftly fix hull breaches while adding gun turrets to the design. It might sound like it requires a shedload of menus, but the largely mouse-based controls are quite simple for a game of this fiddliness. There’s a demo on Steam, if you’d like to try for yourself.

If the idea of playing an AI seems dry, may I draw your attention to the line above about your crew. It consists of named humans with fetching character portraits and bespoke abilities. You’ll shepherd them through boarding actions, opening airlocks and tactically clicking rooms to have them survive against greater numbers. Beware: if you lose one of the story-critical ones, it’s game over. This seems to rule out the possibility of being an Evil AI, alas, though there’s definitely scope for venting the odd humanoid in a fit of cybernetic pique.

I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played of Jitter, though it’s a bit too processing-intensive for my work laptop, with all manner of physics-enabled celestial body bouncing around the playing field. There’s no release date yet, but developers Berko Games posted in June that they’re now focussing on “the final major updates before our Early Access release”.

Their practical difficulties include living in Ukraine, a country that has been fighting off a Russian invasion for three and a half years. “It’s not easy working under drone and missile strikes, but your attention and support should remain focused on the game itself,” the developers comment briefly in a recent update about the game’s NPC vessel behaviour.

Toyota and Avalanche to Build Blockchain Robotaxis in Japan

by admin September 2, 2025

Toyota Blockchain Lab and Avalanche have teamed up in Japan to build blockchain-powered robotaxis. The two companies are designing the Mobility Orchestration Network (MON), a proof-of-concept that uses Avalanche’s multichain technology and Interchain Messaging (ICM).

According to their research, the mission is to build a reliable and efficient system that supports self-driving robotaxi fleets and transforms the way people think about vehicle financing, insurance, and tracking.

This initiative is rooted in the Mobility Orchestration Network (MON), a proof-of-concept that leverages Avalanche’s multichain and Interchain Messaging (ICM) technology. The MON is designed to manage everything from vehicle financing and insurance to ride-sharing and carbon credit tracking, all while making ownership transfers in secondary markets a breeze.

Building Blockchain-Powered Robotaxi Models

Toyota and Avalanche believe robotaxis could become the most disruptive use case for blockchain within transportation. Roi Hirata, head of Japan at Ava Labs, explained that on-chain fundraising and leasing models could empower anyone to launch a robotaxi service.

He stated, “The payments, the leasing, you can actually start your own robotaxi services by raising funds on-chain, with some kind of security token system.”

This design allows investors to manage their fleets entirely on-chain, tracking performance and ownership records without relying on intermediaries. Hence, blockchain becomes the backbone of the business model.

Industry Barriers and Wider Opportunities

Despite progress, the vision requires regulators and manufacturers to align. Hirata noted that manufacturers are the toughest group to onboard. He emphasized, “There’s always an official record in different countries, different formats. So having that and the manufacturer working together on a blockchain is the most key task that we have to tackle.”

Besides robotaxis, the MON highlights blockchain’s potential to tokenize mobility itself. Vehicle tracking remains complex, but blockchain could streamline it through decentralized applications and standardized records. Consequently, investors are eyeing tokenized mobility as a future growth market.

Additionally, Avalanche is expanding real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. Grove, backed by Steakhouse Financial, aims to tokenize $250 million worth of RWAs on Avalanche with Janus Henderson, a $373 billion asset manager.

Meanwhile, Avalanche just confirmed on X that the Foundation network has now processed over four billion transactions.

Toyota and Avalanche are testing robotaxis and also pushing blockchain into real mobility markets, where adoption could change transportation forever.

Infinity Nikki's latest update lets you build your dream home, and pal up with a Stardew Valley Junimo

Infinity Nikki’s latest update lets you build your dream home, and pal up with a Stardew Valley Junimo

by admin September 2, 2025

Infinity Nikki has kicked off a surprising new cross-over with its latest update. The new patch, version 1.9, is live now, and heralds the start of a new season alongside the aforementioned collaboration.

You may have assumed that there’s already a lot of cross-over between Infinity Nikki players and Stardew Valley players. Infold Games clearly agrees, because the developer is teaming up with the farming simulator for this next event.

Patch 1.9 arrived in the game following the usual maintenance. Some parts of the update were available to download ahead of time through the game’s launcher. 1.9 is a fairly substantial patch for Infinity Nikki, not least because of the season it comes with.

Music Season is where the Stardew Valley collaboration lives. The new season is available until September 22, and as the name suggests, there’s music and rhythm games-inspired content here.

A Junimo from the world of Stardew Valley has arrived in Miraland, befriending Nikki. The two will take part in an adventure. Complete it and you’ll earn exclusive collaboration furniture for your home, and an outfit for Nikki.

The story of the update itself doesn’t actually revolve around Stardew Valley. Instead, it’s about Nikki coming across a brooch that belongs to the Evermelody Troupe, which sets her off on a quest to investigate. You’ll visit the Box Theater (haunted by a new enemy) as part of this, and even witness a live rehearsal.

Supporting all that are the new rhythm game mechanics, which include dancing with town NPCs. The update also adds the ability to transform into small animals to uncover clues around Miraland.

The big new gameplay feature in 1.9 is the ability to build a home in Miraland. You can create your own living space, with the help of Yardlings. This is available as part of the Set Off for a Warm Place quest, which will teach you the basics. You can save your home designs, and even share them with others using a unique code.

Before jumping in, make sure you check our updated list of Infinity Nikki codes for September.

Kai Cenat addresses plans to build a school in Nigeria amid social media frenzy

by admin September 2, 2025

Kai Cenat halted Mafiathon 3 right out of the gate in order to address his plans of building a school in Nigeria. This update comes after weeks of fans pestering the social media celeb online.

Back in March 2024, Twitch superstar Kai Cenat visited Nigeria. While there, he was taken to a local school. After seeing the state of the building, with hundreds of students crammed into a single classroom, he pledged to help them however he could.

“Whatever they tell me you guys need, we’re gonna make sure you guys have [it],” he said at the time. Upon returning to America, he then doubled down and announced plans to build an entirely new school in Nigeria.

In the year and a half since, fans of the streamer have begun to question the charitable cause. With on-stream updates few and far between, and further donations piling up, it’s become a point of contention, with viewers hounding Cenat for information at every turn.

Now, he’s delivered. At the very beginning of Mafiathon 3, what’s intended to be a record-breaking Twitch stream, he paused the celeb-filled broadcast to address the situation and clarify progress being made.

Twitch: Kai CenatThe main reason construction hasn’t begun yet is due to complications with the land in Makoko.

Kai Cenat clarifies the status of new school in Nigeria

Two representatives working with Cenat on the project flew in from South Africa and Nigeria, Fanny Moral and Chinedum Umeche respectively, to help provide an update. These partners are from Banwo & Ighodalo, along with Enko Education.

Crucially, the group stressed how “it’s impossible” to build a new school from the ground up in under two years. At least, that’s if they want it done right. Ultimately, they want this school “to last for a long time,” as Cenat stressed. “Beyond me, beyond streaming.”

“From land purchase and approvals to construction, staffing, and curriculum,” there’s a great deal involved, as an accompanying slideshow conveyed.

The first factor listed there has been the main reason for delays, they explained, as due to the “topography, it’s difficult to build a school in that community.”

Specifically, Cenat visited Makoko, which has been described as the “Venice of Africa,” due to its position amid streams of open water. As such, the team has decided to move the project to Yaba, Lagos, which is located “next to Makoko.”

When established, students from Makoko will still receive free education, while students travelling from other areas will pay.

Kai Cenat brought officials from Nigeria and South Africa to explain why the school hasn’t been built yet 👀

– Buy the Land
– Authorization from the Government

As part of the Mafiathon 3 stream, Cenat announced that 15% of revenue from the broadcast will again be helping build the school in Nigeria. If he achieves his plan of reaching 1 million Twitch subscribers, that will provide roughly $750,000 USD for the project, without factoring in higher-tier subs.

To continue providing full transparency moving forward, the group has established the Kai Cenat Foundation Inc. This is a public charity, which ensures all funds are accounted for and that no individual involved can personally profit. We’ve all seen how it’s worked out in the past for those who haven’t disclosed where charity money is going.

Today, the account has a balance of $1,134,453 USD. Cenat himself personally donated $128,579 USD in order to supply the current school with computers while the project gets underway.

Twitch: Kai CenatCenat revealed how funds are being spent through his charity.

All up, the charity is seeking $5 million in total investment to “get us to the first day of class,” Cenat explained. “That’s what we’re aiming for.”
