Jake Paul, Gervonta Davis book Nov. 14 boxing match in Atlanta

In Andreas’ free time, he plays video games, obsesses over music and is a White Sox and 49ers fan. He is also a host for Sirius XM’s Fight Nation. He is also an NAACP Image Award-nominated filmmaker as a producer for the animated short film “Bridges” in 2024.

Two of the biggest names in boxing will clash on Nov. 14 when Jake Paul faces Gervonta “Tank” Davis at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the two sides confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

The contracted weight for the fight and number of rounds has yet to be determined. The fight will be promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and streamed live globally on Netflix.

Talks between both parties have been ongoing since the beginning of the year, and there were initially plans to move forward with the fight after Davis’ WBA lightweight title defense against Lamont Roach Jr. However, those plans were put on hold after Roach and Davis battled to a shocking majority draw in March. Rumors of a rematch taking place in August never came to fruition, and the two sides picked up on their earlier negotiations, finalizing a deal for the fight to happen in November.

“The original timeline assumed that ‘Tank’ would be fighting Jake [Paul] after he fought Roach,” Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian told ESPN. “The outcome didn’t necessarily change anything per se, but our timeline of waiting around to see what Davis was going to do resulted in Jake fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.”

Although initial reports suggested that Paul secured a fight with Davis after discussions for a heavyweight tilt with former unified champion Anthony Joshua fell apart, Bidarian told ESPN that the Joshua fight is still on the table and was never planned to take place in 2025.

“I think it’s just a matter of hitting ‘Go,'” Bidarian said about the ongoing negotiations for Paul-Joshua in 2026. “Jake is looking at it like he wants to show the world that he’s going to fight David and then he plans to take on Goliath.”

As for the upcoming fight, with such a significant disparity in weight with Paul tipping the scales at 199.4 pounds for his fight with Chavez at cruiserweight and Davis weighing 133.8 pounds when he faced Roach, there are ongoing conversations about what weight the fight will be contested at.

“We’re still figuring that out,” Bidarian said, while not committing to the fight being an exhibition as reported by other outlets. “Jake will definitely have to come down below his 200-pound weight that he’s been fighting at. I can tell you that we’re going to have a fight that will have a definitive outcome, whether by way of knockout or decision.”

The weight disparity draws striking similarities to the exhibition fight between Paul’s older brother, Logan, and Floyd Mayweather in June 2021. Mayweather, who spent much of his career at 147 pounds, weighed in at 155 pounds while Paul weighed 189.5 pounds. No winner was declared in the eight-round exhibition that reportedly sold over 1 million pay-per-view buys and generated over $80 million in revenue.

Paul-Davis will be shown to a much larger audience on Netflix with higher stakes as Paul continues to prove himself as a full-time boxer.

Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) has been campaigning as a cruiserweight and is ranked 14th by the WBA following his one-sided decision over Chavez in June. His plans to be a world champion will be put on hold for a massive cultural event against Davis, whom he has targeted for a fight as early as August 2021 when he revealed a wish list of opponents on social media that included Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Tommy Fury, KSI and Canelo Alvarez.

“Gervonta is an angry little elf who has been disrespecting my name for too long,” Paul said in a statement to ESPN. “His nickname might be Tank, but I’m an FPV drone and I’m about to disable his ass. Yes, he is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath, and you are all going watch me do it, breaking viewership records again. Atlanta. Friday, Nov 14th. The worst night of Gervonta’s career, live only on Netflix.”

Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) is one of the biggest attractions in boxing but has never competed in a weight class higher than 140 pounds. He has fought at lightweight (135 pounds) in his past six fights, dating back to December 2021. His April 2023 fight with Ryan Garcia at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was a massive success at the box office with a reported $1.2 million PPV buys and a gate of $22.8 million, fifth-highest gate in U.S. boxing history. He has been engaging in a war of words with Paul on social media for several years and will look to put an end to their rivalry in November.

Davis, 30, was dealing with legal issues over the summer with a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend on Father’s Day. Those charges were dropped last week. Davis will resume his boxing career against a former YouTuber who has also become one of the biggest names in boxing.

“This is a fight between the biggest fighters in the world for Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences,” Bidarian said. “It’s really about who is the true face of American boxing and I view it as The Disruptor [Paul] versus The Destroyer [Davis].”

The 9 Marvel’s Comic Book Characters Who Deserve TV Shows

by admin June 23, 2025

Image: Marvel

At this point, just give us something. Depending on which corner of the comic book world you find yourself in, the Hulk is either the strongest Marvel character or is at least able to take on the strongest. Yet, we haven’t seen the gamma ray god do much of anything recently besides get wasted and meditate with his cousin She-Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He’s been in the MCU in his current iteration for 13 years (sorry, Edward Norton), and Marvel hasn’t even scratched the surface of his Omega-level feats.

In the comics, this beast of a man has punched his way out of a dream realm controlled by Nightmare’s mind, lifted Thor’s Mjolnir to become the new God of Thunder, and once warped time by simply punching Red Hulk. But, honestly, there’s enough beautiful, action-packed storytelling in the historic World War Hulk comic series for six seasons and a movie. Since Mark Ruffalo believes the CGI required to do an entire live-action Hulk film would be too expensive, let’s turn it into an animated series so his boundless power won’t be constrained by Marvel’s tight pockets.

‘I’m sick of it’: James Gunn explains why Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is no longer the DC comic book movie’s name

by admin June 16, 2025

  • Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has been given a much cleaner and shorter title
  • DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has confirmed the name change
  • The superhero movie will be released in theaters worldwide in June 2026

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is no longer the official name of the forthcoming DC comic book movie, James Gunn has revealed.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the DC Studios co-chief confirmed the Milly Alcock-starring film will now go by a much shorter title: Supergirl.

The surprise announcement came right at the start of Rolling Stone’s profile piece on Gunn, which was conducted as part of the promotional campaign for the writer/director’s upcoming Superman film. Asked by the interviewer if he could clarify what Woman of Tomorrow is being referred to as these days, Gunn paused before saying: “I think it’s just called Supergirl.”

Elaborating on the title change, Gunn used Superman’s next big-screen outing, which was originally called Superman: Legacy, to explain why Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow‘s name had been shortened.

“I’m always cutting [down project titles],” Gunn replied. “Legacy was really – we [DC Studios] do something called a premortem. A premortem is you get together with your group that’s doing the project. It’s usually about a couple months before shooting… [and] one of the things I brought up was, it [Gunn’s Superman movie] was [originally] called Superman: Legacy.

“Even though I was the one that gave it that title, I just wasn’t sure,” Gunn continued. “First of all, I’m sick of the superhero title, colon, other-name thing. Also, it seemed to be looking back when we’re looking forward, even though it does have to do with legacy in the movie itself. And everybody was like, ‘Oh, yeah, no, change it.'”

Woman of Tomorrow, but a title for today

Milly Alcock will play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the DCU (Image credit: James Gunn/Twitter)

It might pain some DC comic book fans to learn about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow‘s new, truncated titled. After all, the upcoming DC Universe (DCU) movie is basically adapting its eight-issue graphic novel namesake, which was created by comic book writer Tom King and drawn by Bilquis Eveley.

Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.

Nevertheless, in my view, renaming the DCU Chapter One film is the right decision. Supergirl has a much cleaner feel to it. Additionally, for non-DC comic devotees who don’t already know it’ll retell one of Kara Zor-El’s best stories in a live-action format, its new title maintains an air of mystery about what its plot will actually entail.

Then there’s the fact that, unlike more iconic DC heroes including Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, there’s only been one other Supergirl movie: 1984’s Supergirl, which starred Helen Slater and is available to stream on Max. So the prospect of confusing viewers with an identically titled flick over 40 years on from the Maiden of Might’s silver screen debut shouldn’t be of major concern.

All in all, I’m pretty happy that Supergirl has dropped its subtitle. It certainly rolls off the tongue better than its previous moniker, but its title change does mean I’ll need to give my Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow guide a major overhaul. Lucky me, eh?

Supergirl will take flight in theaters worldwide on June 26, 2026.

‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ Author Kiyosaki Issues Major Bitcoin and New Book Announcement

by admin June 11, 2025

Another day, another viral Bitcoin move from Robert Kiyosaki. As Bitcoin (BTC) marches toward a new all-time high, the “Rich Dad Poor Dad” author is not sitting on the sidelines. With a new X post, he made it clear: he is buying more Bitcoin and writing.

Kiyosaki did not mention his price targets and how much BTC he did buy, but his earlier call is still doing the rounds in the wider media field: $500,000 to $1 million Bitcoin by the end of 2025. It is a huge range, but it echoes the way he sees the world right now: debt-heavy, unstable and primed for a major shift in where value is stored.

You Might Also Like

His latest buy lines up with Bitcoin’s bounce. After dipping below $104,000 last week, BTC has climbed back above $109,000. A quick look at the daily chart shows a strong recovery over the past few sessions, with a clear bullish engulfing candle breaking short-term resistance.

And that is with the all-time high at $111,980, just 2% above the recent price point.

YOUR FUTURE is decided TODAY!!!

Saying it another way:

“TODAY is the most IMPORTANT DAY of YOUR LIFE. Please do not waste it.”

TODAY I am buying more BITCOIN and working on a new book on ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

What are you doing today….for your future?

You are important. Your…

— Robert Kiyosaki (@theRealKiyosaki) June 11, 2025

Kiyosaki is not just reacting to charts though. His focus is bigger. He sees Bitcoin as a hedge against what he considers government mismanagement, inflation and the erosion of financial education. In his words, the cryptocurrency is the “people’s money.” Gold, by the way, he attributes as “God’s money.”

The timing is no less than notable. Bitcoin has been trading in a tighter range lately, with many market participants watching for a breakout. Moves like Kiyosaki’s do not change market structure on their own, but they do reflect a big sentiment shift. The conviction to buy during consolidation, not hype, is often the quiet part of a longer story.

Kiyosaki’s story is always about one thing: do not wait for tomorrow to take a position.

In other news, the author revealed in the same post that he is also crafting a new book on entrepreneurship. Will the best-selling author mention Bitcoin in the book? Only time will tell.

Fed Beige Book flags modest decline in activity, stable labor market

by admin June 5, 2025

In a live reaction to the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book release Wednesday afternoon, Bloomberg’s Federal Reserve and economics reporter Catarina Saraiva highlighted an increasingly cautious mood across U.S. businesses and consumers.

Saraiva stated the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book is “pretty similar” report to what we have seen this year, pointing to slight declines in activity and a labor market holding steady.

Saraiva emphasized how uncertainty, particularly tied to trade tensions and tariffs, continues to weigh on decision-making. She added that businesses and consumers “are kind of waiting to see how this tariff fight plays out.”

The Beige Book mentioned tariffs a total of 122 times, and that “economic activity declining modestly” was a recurring theme across multiple regions, she noted.

Consumer spending holds

Despite fears that tariffs would depress household spending, Saraiva said U.S. consumers have remained surprisingly resilient. The consumer, she said “has stayed strong” and a “big part of that is the labor market.” Retail sales increased slightly, but there’s been a drop in big-ticket purchases.

On inflation, Saraiva pointed to an ongoing concern at the Fed: the risk of inflation expectations becoming unanchored. “That completely takes away the Fed’s ability to control prices,” she warned. However, she noted that most market-based inflation measures remain stable, despite some recent volatility in sentiment surveys.

Michelle Bowman seen as a steady, regulation-light Fed candidate

Saraiva also discussed her recent reporting on Michelle Bowman, U.S. President Donald Trump’s pick for the Federal Reserve’s Vice Chair for Supervision. Bowman, currently a Fed governor, is known for her support of lighter-touch regulation and opposition to recent proposals for increased capital requirements.

“Her views are very widely known… she’s kind of aligned with the industry when it comes to [regulation],” Saraiva said.

She added that Bowman still advocates for rigorous supervision and has called for an independent review of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse.

Bowman could also be in the running to succeed Jerome Powell as Fed Chair, Saraiva added. She’s already on the board and has “proven herself to be a dedicated policymaker.”

Dow Jones snaps win streak as Fed Beige Book flags weak growth, rising costs

by admin June 4, 2025

U.S. stocks ended mixed Wednesday after a weak private payrolls report and a cautious economic outlook from the Fed’s Beige Book fueled concerns about growth, inflation, and tariffs.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average snapped a four day winning steak, closing lower by 91.90 points, or 0.22%. The S&P 500 was nearly flat, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.32% to end at 19,460.49.

Wednesday’s stock trading session sentiment was hit by a weaker-than-expected ADP employment report, which showed private payrolls rose by only 37,000 in May, notably below estimates. The reading comes ahead of Friday’s nonfarm payrolls data and may force the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury dropped to 4.349%, its lowest since early May.

Fed’s Beige Book flags weakening growth, rising price pressures.

Further clouding the economic outlook, the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, released on Wednesday morning, reported a “slight decline” in U.S. economic activity over the past six weeks. Hiring activity was mostly flat as business owners put off expansion plans due to elevated policy uncertainty from Washington and tariff-related cost pressures.

“All Districts reported elevated levels of economic and policy uncertainty,” the Fed noted. The report also cited “widespread reports of contacts expecting costs and prices to rise at a faster rate going forward.”

Tariffs were mentioned 122 times in the Beige Book, up from 107 in April.

Businesses across multiple regions, including New York and Philadelphia, reported rising input costs. Some firms are expecting reduced profit margins or passing along some additional cost to consumers to manage input spikes.

Boston, New York, and Philadelphia saw declines in activity. However, regions like Richmond, Atlanta, and Chicago reported modest growth. Overall, the Fed found that even in stronger districts, hiring activity was cautious.

Tolkien Collectible Book Sets Are Up For Preorder – Myths, Legends, Tales Of Middle-earth

by admin May 24, 2025

J.R.R. Tolkien fans can soon add two display-worthy book box sets to their collection. Tolkien Myths and Legends Box Set, which features lesser-known original works and translations of classic English literature, releases on June 10. It will be followed up on August 19 by new editions of The Great Tales of Middle-earth, which is comprised of the final three prose novels set in Tolkien’s iconic fantasy world. The new hardcover box sets feature lavish cover art and display cases. They are considered the fifth and sixth entries in a series of hardcover book box sets that debuted last year with the The History of Middle-earth, which was published by William Morrow in its entirety across four beautiful collections.

$125 | Releases June 10

The Tolkien Myths and Legends Box Set is a unique collection of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work, because it doesn’t contain stories about Middle-earth. Instead, as the title suggests, it compiles classic myths and legends, two of which were written by the author, while the other two were personal translations of some of his favorite works that inspired him.

Like the vast majority of his posthumously published work, these were pieced together and edited by his son, Christopher Tolkien. Each hardcover book comes with a double-sided dust jacket. Just like The History of Middle-earth Box Sets, one side features elaborate artwork, while the other side has a more subdued aesthetic with solid colors. The four books come packaged in an eye-catching display case.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight / Orfeo / Pearl: Translations of a trio of classic epic poems juxtaposed with Tolkien’s famous 1953 lecture on Sir Gawain.

The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún: An epic verse poem by Tolkien. It was inspired by classic poetry and Norse mythology. Along with Tolkien’s composition, you’ll find notes and commentary from Christopher Tolkien.

The Fall of Arthur: A narrative poem written by Tolkien that chronicles King Arthur’s final days. The book includes extensive notes made by Tolkien while drafting his only Arthurian legend. Fans of The Silmarillion will want to read this one, as it clearly inspired the plot of Tolkien’s Arthurian-esque Middle-earth book.

Beowulf: One of the most famous–and the oldest known—epic poem of Old English literature, Beowulf has received many translations. Tolkien wrote his translation in 1926 and then circled back later. In addition to the translation of the original poem, this book contains a plethora of commentary by Tolkien himself, which will give readers a glimpse into the mind of Tolkien the scholar.

If you’re interested in the Myths and Legends Box Set, you should also check out The Collected Poems of J.R.R. Tolkien, a massive three-volume hardcover box that released last fall. The gorgeous box set, which is on sale for nearly 50% off, compiles Tolkien’s life’s work as a poet and clocks in at over 1,700 pages.

$125 | Releases August 19

The Great Tales of Middle-earth is a must-read collection for all dedicated fans of The Lord of the Rings. Though understandably not nearly as well-known as The Hobbit, LOTR, or even The Silmarillion, the trio of novels in this set are the final pieces of prose fiction that take place across the author’s iconic brilliant fantasy world. All of the stories take place during Middle-earth’s First Age, so while written and published later than Tolkien’s other books, these are the oldest full-length stories in Middle-earth.

The new 2025 hardcover editions come with reversible dust jackets and feature special color plates, pencil drawings, and illustrated maps by Christopher Tolkien and beloved LOTR illustrator Alan Lee.

Here are the three books you’ll find in the beautiful display case, which features a fire-breathing dragon.

The Children of Húrin (2007): Written after The Silmarillion as a standalone prequel story, The Children of Húrin takes place 6,000 years before the events of LOTR. The story follows the cursed son of Húrin, named Túrin, during an era of intense and constant war and widespread devastation caused by the Dark Lord Morgoth. If you’ve read The Silmarillion, you will recognize some of the names found in this novel.

Beren and Lúthien (2017): Another very early tale set in Middle-earth, Beren and Lúthien was reworked and revised over time and eventually became part of The Silmarillion. This compilation of Lúthien and Beren’s story was originally published in 2017. It shows the evolution of the love story between the mortal man Beren and immortal elf Lúthien.

The Fall of Gondolin (2018): Founded by King Turgon, the eponymous city of elves was concealed for many years before Lord Morgoth’s quest to destroy elven life across Middle-earth. The Fall of Gondolin’s main protagonist is Túrin’s cousin, Tuor, and his family. Tuor is married to Turgon’s daughter, Idril. The story follows their attempt to save their child after the Gondolin (unsurprisingly) falls.

It’s worth noting that The Great Tales of Middle-earth is already available as a hardcover box set. While it won’t match Myths and Legends or the four History of Middle-earth Box Sets, the 2018 hardcover collection is on sale for only $50 (was $100) at Amazon. Alternatively, you can purchase each book individually in hardcover or paperback.

The Great Tales of Middle-earth Editions:

J.R.R. Tolkien – The History of Middle-earth Box Sets (2024)

The History of Middle-earth was originally published over a 14-year stretch from 1983 to 1996. While creating his fantasy world, Tolkien took extensive notes, building a backstory for Middle-earth across three different ages and 6,500-plus years. You could argue that the author’s dedication to crafting the setting that would become home to a pair of landmark fantasy novels turned Middle-earth into the most believable character Tolkien created. His mythopoeic writings formed what is commonly referred to as Tolkien’s legendarium.

At the time of Tolkien’s death in 1973, the exhaustive backstory of Middle-earth remained unpublished. Over the next few years, his son and literary executor, Christopher Tolkien, undertook the daunting project of editing, expanding, and curating the legendarium into publishable works. The legendarium would become a 12-volume series titled The History of Middle-earth.

Though The Silmarillion is now included in modern editions of the series–it’s Book 1 in the newest box sets–the collection of myths was first published in 1977. If it had been Tolkien’s decision, The Silmarillion would have been published after The Hobbit. When his publisher turned down the manuscript, Tolkien pivoted to the story that would become The Lord of the Rings.

Over the years, he continued to revise and expand The Silmarillion. Early drafts and branching stories penned while reworking the manuscript would become key components of his legendarium. As such, The History of Middle-earth, in part, showcases Tolkien’s development as a worldbuilder. This is why The Silmarillion is presented as the first book in The History of Middle-earth. To get the most out of the sprawling Middle-earth character study, it’s wise to read the interconnected myths within The Silmarillion.

For the 2024 hardcover box set releases, publisher William Morrow reorganized The History of Middle-earth into 15 separate books, including the invaluable reference Index. The series is a substantial undertaking, as it clocks in 5,328 pages across its 15 volumes. With Amazon’s current prices, you can get all four box sets for $262 (was $475), which saves you over $200.

Check out all four of the 2024 Middle-earth box sets below. An alternative to the 15-book collection is the weighty three-volume hardcover set released in 2020. Totaling 5,440 pages–over 1,800 pages per book–The Complete History of Middle-earth Box Set is an understated, brilliantly designed trio of hardcovers that’s available for $138 (was $250). For a sampling of what the series has to offer, there’s a five-book paperback box set for $28 (was $50).

$63.37 (was $125)

The History of Middle-earth Box Set 1 comes with four hardcover books with reversible dust jackets adorned with brand-new scenic landscape artwork. If you prefer a “quieter” look, the opposite side has a traditional artwork with solid color backgrounds. All four dust jackets have different primary colors, regardless of which side you want to use for display, which gives it a unique, eye-catching appearance.

The History of Middle-earth Box Set 1 released in February 2024 and is discounted by roughly 50% at Amazon. Together, the four hardcover books listed below total 1,536 pages.

  • The Silmarillion
  • Unfinished Tales
  • Book of Lost Tales, Part I
  • Book of Lost Tales, Part II

$57.18 (was $100)

  • The Lays of Beleriand
  • The Shaping of Middle-earth
  • The Lost Road

The History of Middle-earth Box Set 2 is the only collection with three books instead of four. As a result, the set sold for $100 when it released in May 2024. Right now, you can get the 1,264-page collection for only $57.

$68 (was $125)

  • Morgoth’s Ring
  • The War of the Jewels
  • The Peoples of Middle-earth
  • The History of Middle-earth Index

Published in September 2024, The History of Middle-earth Box Set 4 concludes the series and even comes with a standalone edition of the Index, which is a handy book to reference while poring over the sprawling Middle-earth histories, lore, and stories. You can purchase the 1,264-page collection for $68 (was $125) at Amazon.

The Lord of the Rings: Deluxe Illustrated Box Set (2024)

William Morrow’s new hardcover box sets with reversible covers are far from the only stunning Tolkien collections that are worth checking out. The Lord of the Rings has received many different box sets over the years, including a superb high-end edition last fall. The Lord of the Rings: Deluxe Illustrated Box Set remastered the fan-favorite 1992 set with illustrations by Alan Lee. With over 50 new drawings and paintings, silver foil-stamped covers, and hybrid cloth-leather bindings, these editions are truly a sight to behold. The foil-stamped clothboard display case holds all three parts of The Lord of the Rings as well as three exclusive art cards and two foldout maps by Christopher Tolkien.

The LOTR Deluxe Illustrated Box Set launched with an eye-watering $325 price, but Amazon is currently selling it for $146–a savings of 55% ($179).

The Deluxe Illustrated Box Set wasn’t the only collectible LOTR set released last year. William Morrow also published budget-friendly Collector’s Editions of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion. The three parts of LOTR were later collected in one handsome Collector’s Edition Box Set. Each book in the hardcover Collector’s Edition series has stained edges, foil-stamped cover art, a ribbon bookmark, and maps as endpapers. All five Collector’s Editions are available individually for around $20 or less.

Tolkien Illustrated Editions.

Though not box sets, we’d be remiss to not mention the Tolkien Illustrated Editions when discussing collectible versions of Tolkien’s masterworks. Each of these beautiful hardcover books features drawings, sketches, and paintings composed by Tolkien himself while he built Middle-earth with words. The books have foil-stamped covers, sprayed page edges with elvish script, a ribbon bookmark, and a pair of removable maps.

Deluxe Special Editions of Tolkien Illustrated versions of The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings have cloth board bindings with quarterbound ribbed leather, clouthbound slipcases, an art card, and an illustrated booklet.

The list below includes deals on an assortment of editions of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and more. One standout here is The Silmarillion Special Edition, which was published in 2021 and feels like a natural pairing with The Lord of the Rings Deluxe Illustrated Box Set. This foil-stamped, clothbound edition has a slipcase with custom artwork and comes with a pair of full-color posters.

The author, Matt Forbeck, has previously worked on popular books like Dungeons & Dragons: Endless Quest and Halo: Bad Blood, so expect this to be of high quality and packed with engaging decisions that change the course of the narrative.

Minecraft: Roll for Adventure is recommended for players ages 10 and up.

$25 | Releases August 1

A standard version of Minecraft: Builders and Biomes is currently available for $34 (was $40), but this Junior edition offers a streamlined alternative for younger players. Designed for kids 5 and up and with support for up to 4 players, you’ll work together to build a farm. You’ll need to collect various blocks and play them in the right order to have the best chance at success, and with 27 wooden blocks, a pickaxe and shovel accessories, and a chance to encounter familiar faces from the game, it looks like a fun spin-off from the original.

From Portal Dash to the Explorers Card Game:

Minecraft is no stranger to the world of board and card games. And beyond the two upcoming games above, there are plenty of others you can enjoy right now. Portal Dash is one of the most popular options–currently on sale for $30 (was $40), it sees you and up to three other players attempting to escape the Nether. You’ll gather powerful equipment as you navigate its deadly landscape, but you’ll also be pitted against increasingly dangerous foes, making it important to plan ahead. There’s also a Mattel Minecraft Card Game available for $21, where you’ll be mining for Resource Cards before using them to earn points via crafting.

A different type of card game, Minecraft Explorers, is a cooperative game for up to 4 players. Working together, you’ll attempt to discover various treasures and valuable resources without falling prey to the world’s many monsters. With a deck of colorful cards and easy to learn rules, it’s a fun choice for most fans. Other highlights include a Magnetic Travel Puzzle with 40 brain-busting challenges and a premium Minecraft Chess Set featuring blocky pieces inspired by characters from the game.

Minecraft: Roll for Adventure – The Temple of the Charged Creeper

Minecraft Book Box Sets

While Minecraft: Roll for Adventure – The Temple of the Charged Creeper looks like a fun adventure for fans of the game, there are plenty of Minecraft books that offer more traditional reading experiences. We’ve broken them out into sections below, starting with book box sets.

The box sets in the list below run the gamut from prose novels and graphic novels to reference book collections and the aforementioned Mobspotter’s Collection Gift Box, which includes an encyclopedia, a drawing guide, an interactive game where you hunt for zombies, and a kit to make your own zombie figure.

Minecraft: The Ultimate Mobspotter’s Collection Gift Box

Minecraft Graphic Novels (Paperback)

There are nine Minecraft graphic novels available now, six of which are collected in the two box sets mentioned above. The latest Minecraft graphic novel, Out of Order Volume 1, released on March 25.

Minecraft Novel Series

The Stonesword and Woodsword Chronicles box sets listed above were written for younger Minecraft fans (elementary to middle grade). There’s also a long-running series of Minecraft novels for young adult (and older) readers. Many of the 22 prose novels released so far are standalone stories, though some have received sequels or are loosely connected. You don’t have to start with the first book, but we’d recommend it anyway, because The Island was written by World War Z author Max Brooks. If you enjoy The Island, you should then check out The Mountain and The Village, both of which were written by Brooks as well.

All of the novels are available in hardcover and most have been published in paperback, too. In some cases, the hardcover is actually cheaper than the paperback, so we’ve included both editions in the chronological list below.

Minecraft Non-Fiction: Reference Books, Guides, Encyclopedias, and More

A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screen

Lastly, check out the list below for a wide assortment of Minecraft guides, reference books, art books, and more. Notable new and upcoming releases include A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screen, a behind-the-scenes look at the hit adaptation, and the Minecraft Official Blocks Guide, which releases October 14.

If you haven’t preordered a copy of A Minecraft Movie, the Limited Edition 4K Steelbook is available for $38 at Amazon. Over at Walmart, you can buy an exclusive Blu-ray edition with packaging that can be folded into a Crafting Table display model. A Minecraft Movie releases on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 24.
