Jim Carrey’s The Mask – Save $25 On New 4K Blu-Ray Edition

by admin September 24, 2025

Arrow Video has become the Blu-ray distributor for ’90s hits lately, and its next release is smokin’. That’s right, The Mask is getting a new 4K Blu-ray restoration and it’s now available to preorder for $35 (was $60) ahead of its November 11 release. If you preordered for the full $60 MSRP, Amazon will automatically adjust your order total to reflect the 42% discount.

$35 (was $60) | Releases November 11

Released in 1994, The Mask was one of three blockbusters starring Jim Carrey that year, cementing his status as the next breakout star in Hollywood. It’s hard to imagine anyone but Carrey pulling off the role as mild-mannered Stanley Ipkiss and his zany counterpart as successfully as he did, as the comedic actor’s talent for delivering laughs and his malleable face were key factors in the film’s success. Directed by Chuck Russell, The Mask was a big gamble for distributor New Line Cinema, but it paid off handsomely with an impressive box office haul of $351 million at the time.

The popularity of the film led to an animated series adaptation, and a few years later, a sequel was made that we’d really really like to forget about.

This new version of The Mask is a 4K restoration of the film from the original camera negative by Arrow Video that was approved by Russell himself. The 4K edition supports High Dynamic Range–Dolby Vision and HDR10–as well as lossless stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, and a new Dolby Atmos mix.

Like other Arrow Video releases, the Limited Edition comes with a reversible sleeve and cover art: One side has the original theatrical poster featuring Carrey’s toothy grin, while the other is a simple but striking shot of the Mask as he prepares to P-A-R-T-Y. You’ll also find an illustrated booklet with commentary from author Alexandra Heller-Nicholas and original production notes, a double-sided fold-out poster featuring two original artwork options, and six postcard-sized reproduction art cards.

The Mask Limited Edition Bonus Materials

Like the film? Then check out the original The Mask comics

The Mask Omnibus Editions

The Mask was an adaptation of the comic book miniseries of the same name published by Dark Horse Comics. While the film was lighthearted and played like a live-action Looney Tunes cartoon whenever Jim Carrey donned the ancient relic, the comics it was adapted from were much darker in comparison and featured more over-the-top graphic violence. While Jim Carrey’s version of Stanley Ipkiss is a lovable loser with a heart of gold, the comic book version isn’t nearly as likable, and once he gets his hands on the mask, he quickly uses its power to brutally exact revenge on everyone who harmed him.

Some of these scenes made it into the movie, albeit toned down. For example, the mechanics who extort Ipkiss in the film are humiliated by his alter-ego, but in the comics, they meet a gruesome end at his hands. Other characters are gunned down in cold blood and the book doesn’t have a happy ending for Ipkiss. If you’d like to see just how absurdly violent the original comic is, you can pick it up right now as part of The Mask Omnibus Edition for just $23.62 (was $30). After the film became a blockbuster hit, more comic books were produced under several creative teams, but nothing beats the original mini-series by John Arcudi and Doug Mahnke, as it’s a grim tale about revenge and how absolute power corrupts absolutely.

New & Upcoming Arrow Video Limited Edition 4K Blu-rays

The Mask is just the proverbial tip of the 4K Blu-ray spear for Arrow Video, as the company has several other cult-classics on the way. Sci-fi fans can grab the newly released 4K Blu-ray restoration of Lost in Space, the 1997 live-action adaptation of Spawn releases soon and there’s plenty of horror on the way as well. Creepshow 2, the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness, and Ringu are all coming out soon, giving fans of the genre a varied selection of movies to collect ahead of Halloween.

All of the movies listed below are Limited Edition 4K Blu-rays and have been organized the list by release date.

Chucky Complete TV Series Releases On Blu-Ray This Week With A Collectible Steelbook

by admin September 22, 2025

Chucky has haunted screens and instilled the fear of dolls in the minds of many for decades. Thanks to the long-running film franchise and recent TV series, the creepy doll has become one of the most recognizable horror characters of all time. Soon, fans of the amateur comedian and full-time murderous doll can add two collectible editions from the Chucky franchise to their display shelves. Chucky: The Complete Series Steelbook Edition is up for preorder for $60 (was $65) at Amazon. The Steelbook Edition Blu-ray releases alongside standard edition Blu-ray and DVD collections this Tuesday, September 23.

While you’re picking up Chucky: The Complete Series, make sure to check out the Child’s Play Limited Edition Steelbook. Exclusive to Amazon and slated to launch October 7, this collectible edition of the franchise’s original 1988 film has already sold out multiple times since preorders opened, but it’s back in stock as of September 21.

$60 (was $65) | Releases September 23

Chucky: The Complete Series includes all 24 episodes of Syfy’s awesome TV series across six Blu-ray discs. Syfy canceled the show last fall, a few months after airing the third season. If you’re a fan of the movies and haven’t watched the show, we’d highly recommend it. The series is a sequel to the 2017 film Cult of Chucky. And while it leans more into the comedy, Chucky still commits plenty of gruesome murders. Plus, the show retains Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky.

The artwork on the steelbook’s front cover looks cool, though it’s not a brand-new design. The image of Chucky sitting against a school locker was first used to promote Season 1, but with “Wanna Play” written in blood instead of “The Complete Series.” The back of the case features polaroid pictures with characters and references. When you open the steelbook, you’re peering inside Chucky’s locker. Along with more pictures, there’s a bloody knife, because the Biology and Literature textbooks wronged him, apparently.

Like many TV series with physical editions, Chucky has only ever been available on 1080p Blu-ray. The discs support Dolby Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. The list of bonus features is a light, but you’ll still find deleted scenes on all six discs along with a featurette called The Legacy of Chucky. In total, the series runs close to 19 hours.

As mentioned, Chucky: The Complete Series also has a standard Blu-ray edition for $50 (was $55) and a DVD box set for $40 (was $45). It’s also worth noting that all three seasons are available on Blu-ray. You’d spend roughly $55 total if you purchased each season individually instead.

  • Chucky: Complete Series:
  • Chucky: Seasons on Blu-ray:

$45 | Releases October 7

Relive the film that started it all with the Child’s Play Limited Edition Steelbook. It includes both 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray copies of the movie, with the 4K scan created from the original camera negative. Both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision are supported, as is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. You’ll get a chilling steelbook featuring a close-up shot of Chucky, while a third disc (standard Blu-ray) is loaded with bonus features. Here’s what’s included:

  • Behind-the-scenes special effects footage
  • Howard Berger: Your Special Effects Friend ‘Til The End – Interview with special makeup effects artist
  • Life Behind the Mask: Being Chucky – Interview with Ed Gale
  • Evil Comes in Small Packages – Interviews with Don Mancini, David Kirschner, Kevin Yagher, and more
  • Chucky: Building a Nightmare – Featuring Kevin Yagher
  • A Monster Convention – Archival piece from The 2007 Monster Mania Panel
  • Introducing Chucky: The Making of Child’s Play
  • Vintage Child’s Play featurette
  • Theatrical trailer
  • TV spot
  • Behind-the-scenes photo gallery
  • Posters and lobby cards gallery

All of the on-disc content matches the original 4K Collector’s Edition that released in 2022. You can get that version, sans steelbook, for $29 (was $40).

Chucky: The Complete Series Limited Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray)

All seven films in the original Chucky series as well as the 2019 reboot are available on 4K Blu-ray. The second and third films released in 2022 alongside the original, while the remaining four–all of which abandoned the Child’s Play moniker for Chucky–launched in 2023. If you want a complete “matching” set, the editions below come with cardboard sleeves and have the same style of cover art.

Chucky 4K Blu-ray Collector’s Editions:

All eight movies are also available on Blu-ray for less than $10 each–though if you want all of them, it makes more sense to buy the Blu-ray box set detailed below and pair it with the 2019 reboot separately for $9.50.

Chucky Blu-rays:

Chucky 7-Movie Collection

The original film series is also available in box set format on Blu-ray and DVD for cheap. Chucky 7-Movie Collection on Blu-ray is $42.49 (was $60) at Amazon. In 2023, Arrow Video released a 4K Blu-ray box set called The Chucky Ultimate 8-Movie Collection. It has the original seven movies and the 2019 reboot in 4K with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10. The box set wasn’t released in the US, but it’s region-free and available on Amazon from a third-party seller.

This Creepy Slasher Movie Inspired By An Iconic Disney Character Is Coming To 4K Blu-Ray

by admin September 19, 2025

There are immutable truths about our world: rain falls, wind blows, and the second a beloved IP enters the public domain territory, you can bet that a slasher movie based on it will hit theaters in record time. We’ve seen it happen to Winnie the Pooh, and last year it happened to Steamboat Willie, the 1928 Disney character who served as the prototype for what would eventually become Mickey Mouse. Steamoat Willie entered the public domain on January 1, 2024, and then earlier this year was reimagined as a horror movie villain with the animated horror-comedy short, Screamboat, created by . The movie is getting a Blu-ray release on December 9, including a fancy steelbook edition 4K Blu-ray that’s availabe to preorder for $43 at Amazon.

$43 | Releases December 9

This two-disc set includes both 4K and standard Blu-ray copies of the movie. The UHD version is in native 4K with HDR10 and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The cover is deceptively cute, as it features Steamboat Willie waving to the audience, but when you look closer, you’ll see that he’s surrounded by carnage. The back cover sports a CG-render of Willie overlooking the New York City skyline.

Screamboat Bonus Material

The Blu-ray doesn’t come with much in the way of extras, but you’ll at least get a few deleted scenes, a short behind-the-scenes documentary, and audio commentary with Willie’s actor, David Howard Thornton.

  • Audio commentary track with actor David Howard Thornton
  • Documentary: The Making of Screamboat
  • Deleted scenes

Screamboat was announced a mere day after Steamboat Willie entered the public domain. It tells the story of a late-night ferry ride in New York piloted by a murderous version of the formerly kind-hearted mouse, who has become warped and twisted after years of neglect. Passengers who use the ferry fall victim to Willie’s rampage. While the movie is admittedly forgettable and a cash grab at best, it is notable for its connections to a larger horror movie franchise, Terrifier. The producers of Terrifier 2 and 3 are responsible for this movie, and David Howard Thornton–who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier movies–steps into the furry costume of Willie for this movie.

The movie has had a mixed reception since it was first released in cinemas in April, but if you want to see a tiny mouse horribly murder people and you’re a fan of practical effects, then Screamboat might be worth picking up. It’s impressively ultraviolent, and it’s the kind of movie you can enjoy without needing to overthink things.

$19

This isn’t the only beloved IP that has been turned into a slasher movie–nor will it be the last, we imagine–as, believe it or not, there are two movies that transform Winnie the Pooh and his friends into homicidal monsters. Billed as the first instalment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was released in 2023, and it’s a horror-parody of A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard’s classic Winnie-the-Pooh books.

This time, Pooh finds blood to be sweeter than honey as he goes on a killing spree alongside his best friend Piglet. The movie hasn’t received a 4K release yet, but you can pick up a standard Blu-ray release of it. For special features, all it includes is the original theatrical trailer and a short documentary detailing its production. The film was made on a tight budget of around $100,000, but it grossed $7.7 million at the global box office.

$25

Naturally, a sequel wasn’t far behind, as Pooh returned alongside Piglet, Tigger, and Owl to take revenge on Christopher Robin for revealing his existence to the world. Again, don’t expect much in the way of special features, as all you’re getting with this Blu-ray is a theatrical trailer and an image gallery that collects various film stills. Walmart does offer an exclusive steelbook case version of the movie, and you can pick up both of them in an affordable two-pack on Blu-ray as well.

TKTKT

Watch the entire film series, if you dare

While slasher films aren’t nearly as popular in the 2020s as they were in the 1980s and 1990s, the exception to that rule is The Terrifier franchise. The series of movies starring Art the Clown is not for the faint of heart, as each movie ups the gore to a stomach-churning level. The character has become a modern-day horror movie icon since he first debuted, and there are several editions of the Terrifier trilogy to pick up. Fans looking to watch the first movie and the prequel anthology movie All Hallow’s Eve can grab a two-pack Blu-ray for just $27, and you can get both Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 in 4K Blu-ray formats.

There’s even a Terrifier 3 Amazon-exclusive Limited Edition Collector’s Box Set that comes with several extras, including a themed “box of soap” and barf bag. Trust us, if you’re watching the threequel for the first time, you’re going to need these items.

Batman 85th Anniversary 10-Film 4K Blu-Ray Collection Drops To Best Price Yet

by admin September 19, 2025

Fans of DC Universe animated Batman films will want to check out the deals on the 80th and 85th Anniversary Collections while they are still in stock. The Batman 80th Anniversary 18-Film Collection is on sale for only $32, which is over 50% off its current $70 MSRP–though it was selling for $90 earlier this year. The box set includes some of the best animated Caped Crusader movies on Blu-ray. The DVD version of the 80th Anniversary set is discounted to $29 at Walmart.

Meanwhile, Batman’s 85th Anniversary 10-Film 4K Collection has dropped to $80, a new all-time low price for the pricey 4K Blu-ray box set that originally released last year for $205. The 85th Anniversary Collection also comes with a voucher to claim digital versions of all 10 movies. Take a closer look at both collections below, and then check out the awesome deals on Batman: The Complete Animated Series, Batman Beyond: The Complete Series, and more beloved television series on Blu-ray.

$33 (was $70)

Batman: 80th Anniversary Collection offers terrific value, as you’re getting 18 animated Batman movies on Blu-ray for just $1.83 each.

There are some very good Batman movies included here as well that you won’t find ini the newer 85th Anniversary edition, like The Dark Knight Returns Parts 1 and 2, Batman: Ninja, and Batman: Gotham Knight. Even if you purchased the 85th Anniversary 4K Collection, those movies alone are worth buying the 80th Anniversary Collection for.

Here’s the full list of movies:

  • Batman: Assault on Arkham
  • Batman: Bad Blood
  • Batman: Gotham by Gaslight
  • Batman: Gotham Knight
  • Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
  • Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
  • Batman: Ninja
  • Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders
  • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1
  • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2
  • Batman: The Killing Joke
  • Batman: Under the Red Hood
  • Batman: Year One
  • Batman and Harley Quinn
  • Batman Vs. Robin
  • Son of Batman
  • Superman and Batman: Apocalypse
  • Superman and Batman: Public Enemies

As mentioned, the 80th Anniversary Collection was also released on DVD and is discounted to $29 (was $70).

$80 (was $205)

Batman’s 85th Anniversary Collection launched last September with a rather high $205 list price. The current $80 price is a new all-time low for this 4K Blu-ray box set. At this price, you’re paying $8 per movie on 4K and digital.

It comes with a colorful slipcase and a 24-page commemorative booklet. The box set comes with 4K Blu-ray and digital versions of 10 animated Batman movies:

  • Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
  • Batman Year One
  • Batman: Assault on Arkham
  • Batman: The Killing Joke
  • Batman and Harley Quinn
  • Batman: Gotham by Gaslight
  • Batman: Hush
  • Batman: Soul of the Dragon
  • Batman: The Long Halloween
  • Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham

This is a pretty solid collection of Batman movies. The highlights here are obviously Mask of the Phantasm and Year One, while some of the other entries are fun popcorn flicks you can binge through like comfort junk food. Soul of the Dragon reimagines Batman as a ’70s-era martial arts master in a cheesy adventure film starring several other skilled DC fighters, Assault on Arkham is an action-packed dive into Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse that mostly focuses on the Suicide Squad, and Gotham by Gaslight puts a Victorian-era spin on Batman.

The Killing Joke, Harley Quinn, and Hush don’t reach the same heights, but they remain faithful the DC source material and are still worth watching.

John Wick 4-Movie Blu-Ray Collection Is Only $26 For A Limited Time

by admin September 19, 2025

John Wick 4K Blu-rays and box sets are on sale for cheap at Amazon and Walmart. Fans of the Keanu Reeves action movie series can get all four mainline films in a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack for only $26.49 (was $45) at Amazon. Alternatively, you can get John Wick Chapters 1-3 on 4K Blu-ray for only $28.49 (was $45). For a collectible edition, check out the Walmart-exclusive Stash Book Collection, which includes three steelbook cases inside a replica Stash Book from the movies for $50.

Both retailers also have limited-time deals on individual 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions of John Wick. You can pair the mainline films with the new spin-off Ballerina: From the World of John Wick, which released on 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray September 9.

We’ve rounded up all of the best John Wick 4K and 1080p Blu-ray deals below. And if you also like watching Bob Odenkirk do his best John Wick impression, check out the Walmart-exclusive Nobody 2 Steelbook Edition before it launches October 7; you can also snag the recently released Nobody 4K Steelbook for only $30.

$26.49 (was $45) | Limited-time deal

John Wick: Chapters 1-4 Collection is an eight-disc set with 1080p Blu-ray and DVD versions of all four mainline films. It also comes with four art cards with pretty awesome character art. The cardboard slipcase has a window frame, allowing you to switch between the four pieces of artwork for display.

The box set already offers terrific value just for the movies themselves, but you’ll also get hours of bonus features, including audio commentaries and over 35 featurettes.

Note: You’ll find a voucher in the case for digital copies of the four movies, but the codes expired in October 2024. Technically, the wording says “may not be valid,” so it’s still worth trying on the off-chance it does work.

If you already own Chapter 4, there’s a Chapters 1-3 box set for $19.38. Alternatively, you can buy each John Wick movie on Blu-ray for $7 to $9 each.

John Wick on Blu-ray:

$50 (was $100) | Exclusive to Walmart

Arguably the coolest John Wick Blu-ray collection, the Walmart-exclusive Stash Book Collection bundles Chapters 1-3 on 4K Blu-ray and 1080p Blu-ray. The six-disc box set is on sale for $50 (was $100) right now. Each film comes with its own collectible steelbook case. The trio of steelbooks are stored inside a replica of Wick’s stash book. The front cover folds open like. a book, and there’s a window to view the steelbook “pages” of the fancy book.

The Stash Book Collection was initially released as a Best Buy exclusive, but once Best Buy stopped carrying Blu-rays, Walmart nabbed the exclusivity and reprinted it last year.

$72.36

You could pair the Stash Collection with a Walmart-exclusive 4K Blu-ray and 1080p Blu-ray edition of John Wick: Chapter 4. This Limited Edition Collector’s Gift Set is pretty expensive at $72.36–shipped and sold by Walmart–but the exclusive display box sure does look nice. Inside the box, you’ll find the following extras:

  • 6 Double-sided Collector Cards
  • Custom Map of Paris
  • Specialty Marquee Pin
  • The Continental Osaka Hotel Key Card
  • The Continental Osaka Folder

$30 | Exclusive to Walmart

As mentioned, Ballerina: From the World of John Wick launched on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 9. Walmart’s exclusive Steelbook Edition with a slipcover is currently in stock for $30–though it may not be available in all US regions.

$35 | Exclusive to Amazon

Sold out

Amazon’s exclusive Steelbook Edition of Ballerina has lenticular artwork that looks pretty awesome. Unfortunately, this edition has been even harder to find in stock, and it’s currently sold out.

Spawn Limited Edition 4K Blu-Ray – Save Big On Your Preorder At Amazon

by admin September 18, 2025

Back in the ’90s, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn was one of the hottest comic books on shelves. The flagship series for Image Comics, Spawn’s popularity spilled into mainstream pop culture with its own line of toys, an animated HBO series, and –perhaps most notably–a feature film adaptation in 1997 starring Michael Jai White as the titular antihero. Now, almost 18 years later, the grim superhero film is getting a limited-edition 4K release from Arrow Video, which is on a roll with 4K restorations of cult classics.

Spawn Limited Edition includes theatrical and director’s cuts as well as premium packaging, new artwork, and a few collectibles. Preorders opened at $50 in late July, but Amazon and Walmart are now offering a substantial discount that drops the price to $32 ahead of its October 7 release.

$32 (was $50) | Releases October 7

Arrow Video restored the Theatrical and Director’s Cuts in native 4K (2160p) resolution using the original camera negatives. Both versions support High Dynamic Range with Dolby Vision and HDR10. Audio options include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and lossless stereo.

The Limited Edition is packaged in a reversible sleeve with new artwork. You’ll also get an illustrated booklet with fresh commentary and a double-sided, fold-out poster.

The main difference between the Theatrical and Director’s Cut is the tone, as a lot of the violence was removed to secure a PG-13 rating. Other than that, the Director’s Cut is less than three minutes longer than the Theatrical Cut, but the extra violence pushes it into R-rated territory.

There’s also a ton of bonus materials, such as a a brand-new audio commentary with comic book expert and podcast host Dave Baxter, and new interviews with the film’s cast and crew. You can also explore archival content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, promotional materials, and audio commentary tracks, many of which are from previous DVD and Blu-ray releases. You can check out the full list of features below.

Spawn Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray Bonus Features

  • Native 4K restorations of Theatrical and Director’s Cuts
  • HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10
  • Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 / Lossless Stereo
  • New reversible cover and sleeve art
  • Double-sided poster
  • Illustrated booklet with commentary by John Torrani

Disc 1: Director’s Cut (Rated R)

  • 4K resolution (2160p)
  • HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10
  • Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 / Lossless Stereo
  • Audio commentary with comic book expert and podcast host Dave Baxter (new)
  • Audio commentary with Todd McFarlane, Mark A.Z. Dippé, Clint Goldman, and Steve Williams
  • Hell’s Perfect Son: An interview with actor Michael Jai White (new)
  • Spawn Support: An interview with actors Melinda Clarke and D.B. Sweeney (new)
  • The Devil’s in the Details: An interview with animatronic creature and special makeup effects artists Howard Berger and Greg Nicotero (new)
  • The Devil’s Music: An interview with music supervisor Happy Walters (new)
  • Order Out of Chaos: An interview with editor Michael Knue (new)
  • Todd McFarlane: Chapter & Verse featurette
  • The Making of Spawn featurette
  • Preview: Todd McFarlane’s Spawn – The Animated Movie
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Scene-to-storyboard comparisons

  • Spawn concept and sketch gallery
  • English subtitles

Disc 2: Theatrical Cut (Rated PG-13)

  • 4K resolution (2160p)
  • HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10
  • Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 / Lossless Stereo
  • English subtitles

Spawn tells the story of ruthlessly efficient black ops soldier Al Simmons. Betrayed and murdered by his commanding officer, Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen), Simmons is sent to hell for his sins, but he is resurrected on Earth by the devil Malebolgia as part of a grand scheme to kickstart the apocalypse. Empowered with the might of Hell, Simmons finds himself torn between his quest for revenge, dark forces, and salvation.

While it’s not on the same level as Blade–which arrived a year later and is credited for modernizing superhero movies–there’s still a lot to love about Spawn. It’s not afraid to be a comic book movie, and it mixed impressive practical effects with groundbreaking CGI at the time to bring the character to life. With Michael Jai White as the tortured antihero, the movie had a terrific leading man opposed by John Leguizamo’s character of Clown, who could transform into the monstrous Violator when backed into a corner.

A movie night with Spawn followed up by Blade would make for a great double feature. Blade is already available on 4K Blu-ray for only $21.41 (was $35). Alternatively, you can grab Blade Trilogy for just $12 on 1080p Blu-ray.

Spawn graphic novels

Spawn Compendiums: Color Editions (Paperback)

If you want to check out the comic books that turned Spawn into a household name, the Compendium Collection paperbacks are a nice budget-friendly option. Image Comics has been releasing updated, full-color editions over the past few years. Seven massive volumes are available now. Volume 7 was just published September 9. Fair warning: All of the Compendiums eclipse 1,000 pages, so these take up considerable shelf space. Each one retails for $60, but you can save some cash at Amazon right now. Volume 1, for instance, is discounted to only $34.

Spawn: Origins Deluxe Editions (Hardcover)

Along with the film and collectible steelbook case, the new 50th Anniversary Edition 4K Blu-ray release includes a long list of bonus materials. While much of the content–such as deleted scenes and alternate takes–is pulled from previous Blu-ray and DVD releases (which are currently out of print), this new version will also include several new commentary and sing-along tracks that are watchable with the new 4K remaster. Here’s the full list of all the special features:

  • Alternate scene takes
  • Rocky Horror double feature video show
  • Music video for Time Warp
  • A featurette on the Beacon Theater

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a film adaptation of Richard O’Brien’s 1973 stage musical. It follows a newly engaged couple, Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), whose car breaks down in the remote countryside. The pair end up at a strange party held at a castle owned by the mysterious Dr. Frank-N-Furter–played by Tim Curry in his debut on-screen role. It’s a wild movie that blends comedy, horror, and musical genres into a unique film, earning a cult following when it premiered in 1975 that persists to this day.

Plenty of other 4K Blu-rays are launching in the Fall months, including several new horror releases dropping in time for Halloween. These include some of the year’s biggest horror movies like 28 Years Later, which launches on Blu-ray on September 23 and has a steelbook edition 4K Blu-ray available to preorder for $48.49. Clown in a Cornfield is getting a steelbook release a week earlier on September 16, while other 2025 releases like Sinners and Bring Her Back are available now. You can also grab new steelbook 4K Blu-rays of older slashers like Halloween (2018), The Devil’s Rejects, or I Know What You Did Last Summer. Alfred Hitchcock 15-Film 4K Blu-Ray Ultimate Collection Is Up For Preorder

by admin September 10, 2025

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection is finally releasing on 4K Blu-ray. The 15-film box set has been available on standard Blu-ray since 2012, but 4K Hitchcock collections up until now have been smaller, 5-film collections. That changes October 14 when The Ultimate Collection arrives on 4K Blu-ray for $125. The 15-disc box set includes over nine hours of special features, a collectible booklet, and digital versions of each film. You can add the films to your Movies Anywhere library to download or stream on all of your devices.

Universal Pictures is also reissuing the 1080p Blu-ray edition for the first time since 2017. The Blu-ray version also comes with digital copies of each movie and mirrors the 4K box set’s bonus features and packaging. Preorders for the 2025 edition of The Ultimate Collection on Blu-ray are available for $88 at Walmart and $101 at Amazon.

Let’s take a closer look at The Ultimate Collection compared to the existing Hitchcock Classics Collections on 4K Blu-ray. You should also check out the Amazon hub we created with notable Hitchcock box sets and 4K Blu-rays in one place. Amazon has limited-time deals on a pair of Hitchcock 4K Blu-ray box sets with five films.

$125 | Releases October 14

The Ultimate Collection comes with the following 15 Hitchcock movies on 4K Blu-ray and digital:

  • The Birds
  • Family Plot
  • Frenzy
  • The Man Who Knew Too Much
  • Marnie
  • North by Northwest
  • Psycho
  • Rear Window
  • Rope
  • Saboteur
  • Shadow of a Doubt
  • Topaz
  • Torn Curtain
  • The Trouble with Harry
  • Vertigo

All 15 movies have High Dynamic Range (HDR10) and support DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. Some of the movies support DTS:X and/or Dolby TrueHD surround sound. Special features vary by film, with classics like Psycho, The Birds, and Rear Window having a more robust list of extra content compared to Frenzy or Family Plot. In total, The Ultimate Collection offers more than nine hours of bonus content, including documentaries, commentaries, interviews, and behind-the-scenes features.

The discs are spread across two oversized plastic cases and packaged inside the cardboard display box shown above. The Ultimate Collection also comes with a 64-page collectible booklet with storyboards, production photographs, letters, trivia, and more.

The full list of special features for all 15 movies can be found in the product description on Amazon’s store page.

$88 | Releases October 14

If you’re interested in the standard Blu-ray version of The Ultimate Collection, you have a decision on your hands. The upcoming edition is likely to have better video/audio since it’s based on the 4K restorations. It also comes with a voucher for digital editions.

The 2017 edition, meanwhile, has 15 hours of bonus features, 7 episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and 3 episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. The collectible booklet also appears to be the same or very similar. This version only includes Blu-ray, no digital. There is a substantial price difference between the two, as you can get the 2017 edition for only $56.63 (was $100) at Amazon.

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection on 4K Blu-ray

The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections (4K Blu-ray + Blu-ray)

All of the Hitchcock films in The Ultimate Collection are already available on 4K Blu-ray, and you can get all but one of them by purchasing the three Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections below. The only movie not included in these sets is North by Northwest. Each Classics Collection retails for $70, though there are limited-time deals on two that drop their prices to around $30 each.

The digital codes in these box sets are likely expired, but it is worth noting the Classics Collection box sets come with 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray discs. You will miss out on the collector’s booklet by skipping The Ultimate Collection.

Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection – Limited Edition

Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection – Limited Edition

North by Northwest may not be included in the Classics Collection series, but it was one of six films chosen for last year’s Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection. This 4K Blu-ray and digital box set is limited to 5,150 copies and has a stunning book-style display case with storyboards, sketches, previously unseen photographs, and new artwork. The Iconic Collection has 15 hours of bonus features–even more than the upcoming 15-film Ultimate Collection. Five of the six movies are also in the upcoming box set, with the lone original entry being To Catch a Thief.

The Iconic Film Collection – 4K Blu-ray + Digital:

  • The Birds
  • North by Northwest
  • Psycho
  • Rear Window
  • To Catch a Thief
  • Vertigo
  • 15 hours of bonus features
  • Book-style packaging

The Iconic Film Collection retails for $180 and is on sale for $125.89 at Amazon, so it’s almost exactly the same price as the upcoming Ultimate Collection.

If you want The Ultimate Collection but are disappointed that To Catch a Thief isn’t included, it’s worth checking out the recently released, collectible 4K Blu-ray edition. To Catch a Thief’s Limited Edition Steelbook launched in July and is available for $26 at Amazon. There’s also a Paramount Presents Limited Edition from last fall for $30.79.

There are only a few Hitchcock 4K Steelbook Editions in print today. The Birds Limited Edition Steelbook launched last December and is up for grabs for $21.45 at Amazon.

Alfred Hitchcock movies on 4K Blu-ray

And if you only are interested in one or two Hitchcock movies, you can find 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray combo packs for the movies in all of the collections mentioned above. Several of Hitchcock’s most popular films are super cheap right now on 4K, including Rear Window and Vertigo for $12 each and Psycho for $14.

Four Legendary John Woo Action Movies Release On 4K Blu-Ray This Fall

by admin September 9, 2025

When it comes to action, the golden age of Hong Kong cinema is hard to beat. During the ’80s and ’90s, some of the best movies in the genre were made here, and at long last, all three movies in the A Better Tomorrow saga are headed to 4K Blu-ray as a box set with tons of new special features. Restored by Shout Factory, A Better Tomorrow Trilogy is available to preorder for $100 ahead of its November 18 release. Shout Factory is also releasing a 4K Blu-ray edition of Hard Boiled on November 4. This Deluxe Edition looks promising as well, but it’s worth noting the price has jumped from $40 to $65 at Amazon and Walmart. It’s unlikely to launch at this price, and you won’t be charged for preorder until it ships.

$100 | Releases November 18

Directed by renowned filmmakers John Woo and Tsui Hark, all three A Better Tomorrow movies have been remastered in 4K from the original camera negatives. Each one is presented in Dolby Vision–and are HDR-10 compatible and viewers can choose between the original Cantonese language track or the English dub, in DTS-HD Master Audio mono and English DTS-HD Master Audio mono. If you choose to go with the original Cantonese audio, each film features newly translated English subtitles. You’ll also get an exclusive poster in this box set, based on the newly commissioned art.

Each film is accompanied by dozens of brand-new extras, which are mostly audio commentary tracks and interviews with established film critics, members of the cast and crew, and even notable directors like Gareth Evans (The Raid). The real jewel of this collection is the sought-after workprint of A Better Tomorrow 2, which was thought to be lost for years. This version of Woo’s sequel was originally re-edited producer Tsui Hark, and it features an extra 30 minutes of footage. While Woo considers it to be the black sheep of the trilogy–the third film was in turn directed by Hark–he has still spoken fondly about its climatic gunfight as some of his best work in cinema.

You’ll also find the Taiwanese cut of A Better Tomorrow 3 here, which adds around 10 extra minutes of content, resulting in several extended scenes. The seven-disc collection includes 4K UHD and 1080p Blu-ray editions of each film.

You can check out the full list of features on each disc below.

Disc 1: A Better Tomorrow (4K)

  • Audio commentary with James Mudge, Hong Kong film critic at EasternKicks (New)

Disc 7 A Better Tomorrow 2 and 3 (Blu-ray)

  • Long-lost A Better Tomorrow 2 workprint featuring over 30 minutes of never-before-seen footage
  • A Better Tomorrow 3 – Taiwanese cut

A Better Tomorrow starred Chow Yun-fat as conflicted police officer Mark Lee, trapped between duty and honor when senior Triad gangster Sung Tse-Ho–who Lee has close ties to–asks him to help avenge the murder of a family member. Released in 1986, the film was a big critical hit and it set the stage for director John Woo and Chow Yun-fat’s eventual journey to Hollywood.

In 1987, A Better Tomorrow 2 was released, and it featured a wild plot twist to justify its existence–for reasons we won’t spoil here in case you never saw the first movie. Like its predecessor, the film featured over-the-top action, explosions, and a ludicrous bodycount once characters finally ran out of bullets.

A Better Tomorrow 3: Love and Death in Saigon brought the series to a close in 1989 and it’s a prequel to the first movie. Set during the final days of the Vietnam War, the story isn’t the best, but it does boast incredible action sequences throughout. Interestingly, Woo’s original vision for the film was different and led to him exiting the director’s chair after he and Hark experienced creative differences. Woo’s script would eventually evolve into 1990’s Bullet in the Head.

As mentioned, the other big new release in the Hong Kong Cinema Classics collection is Hard Boiled. Released in 1992, Hard Boiled is one of the best action movies of all time–and the best collaboration between John Woo and Chow Yun-fat. Over-the-top and incredibly fun, Hard Boiled as a straightforward plot centered around a cop seeking revenge against a gang of criminals. Mayhem ensues, the action is extreme, and Chow Yun-fat is effortlessly cool in every scene, including that iconic shootout in a hospital.

$65 | Releases November 4

Shout Factory’s Deluxe Edition resurrects the cult-classic with a brand-new 4K scan from the original camera negatives, adding in Dolby Vision and HDR 10 support along with the Cantonese and English dub in DTS-HD Master Audio Mono. Like the A Better Tomorrow trilogy, there are also new English subtitles in this release as well and the box set includes an exclusive 52-page collectible booklet.

The three-disc set also includes a standard Blu-ray copy of the film and it contains plenty of bonus materials, like several newly filmed interviews with Woo and other key members of the crew. Topping it all off is a collection of new audio commentary tracks with film critics and historians–as well as the audio commentary from John Woo and several more people that the Criterion Collection recorded–deleted scenes, trailers, and an image gallery.

We included a list of features on each disc below.

Disc 1 (4K)

  • Optional English subtitles newly translated for this release (new)
  • Audio commentary with director John Woo and film journalist Drew Tayler (new)
  • Audio commentary with film historian Frank Djeng (new)
  • Audio commentary with director John Woo, producer Terence Chang, filmmaker Roger Avary, and critic Dave Kehr (recorded by the Criterion Collection)

Disc 2 (Blu-ray)

  • Audio commentary with director John Woo and film journalist Drew Tayler (new)
  • Audio commentary with film historian Frank Djeng (new)
  • Audio commentary with director John Woo, producer Terence Chang, filmmaker Roger Avary, and critic Dave Kehr (recorded by the Criterion Collection)

Disc 3 (Bonus Blu-ray)

  • Violent Night – an interview with director John Woo (new)
  • Boiling Over – an interview with actor Anthony Wong (new)

  • Chewing the Fat – an interview with academic Lin Feng (new)
  • Deleted and extended scenes
  • Trailers
  • Image gallery

While you’ll have to wait a few months for these Blu-rays, you can grab some classic action movies starring Jet Li. The Jet Li Collection was released in July, and it offers five of his best movies–Fist of Legend, Tai Chi Master, The Legend 1 + 2, and The Bodyguard from Beijing–in 4K and 1080p. Each movie also comes with a selection of bonus features, and the price has dropped to $107 (was $130). In August, Ringo Lam’s acclaimed 1987 action movie City on Fire joined Shout Factory’s collection on 4K Blu-ray, and you can snag a copy for $29 (was $40).

Looking ahead, Shout Factory will be releasing a lot more movies over the next couple of years, as the film distributor recently secured the worldwide rights to the Golden Princess film library, a collection of 156 movies in total. Here’s a list of a few other movies and box sets in the Hong Kong Cinema Classics collection that you can buy or preorder now:

Tron Movies Land On 4K Blu-Ray For The First Time With Collectible Steelbooks

by admin September 6, 2025

With Tron: Ares arriving in theaters October 10, now is a great time to revisit The Grid. The new Tron movie is the third one set inside of that video game-inspired digital universe, and for the first time ever, you can watch the first two on 4K Blu-ray. Collectible Steelbook Editions of Tron and Tron: Legacy are available to preorder for $40 each at Amazon. Walmart was taking preorders earlier this week, but both films sold out within hours. You won’t have to wait long to get your preorders either, as both Tron movies release September 16.

$40 | Releases September 16

The first Tron movie was released in 1982, and it was a revolutionary film as it pioneered new special effects and revolutionary computer-generated imagery for the time. The restoration of Tron was handled by The Walt Disney Film Restoration team, who corrected dirt, warping, and other imperfections to ensure pristine image quality, after digitally scanning the film for this 4K releases. The project was also supervised by Steven Lisberger, the writer-director of Tron.

The steelbook cover is also fantastic for this release, as it features a combination of film imagery and new art of the movie’s cast. On the inside, you can also find a screenshot of the infamous lightcycle race scene from Tron, that was designed using bleeding-edge computer technology at the time. It might look quaint now, but in 1982, footage like this had never been seen or attempted before. The film also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio, and the 4K disc is accompanied by a standard Blu-ray disc copy of the film and a digital streaming code for it.

For the bonus materials, this Tron release has inherited all the extras from the previous Blu-ray release. There’s nothing new here, but all of the legacy content from the older Tron release did provide an exhaustive glimpse behind the curtain to see just how this technological marvel pushed filmmaking to the limit in the ’80s. You can look forward to an audio commentary track with Lisberger and several crew members, featurettes, photo galleries, and promotional materials. The Making of Tron is especially good, as this is an 88-minute documentary covering the challenging development of the film.

Tron Special Features

  • Audio commentary with director Steven Lisberger, producer Donald Kushner, associate producer, visual effects supervisor Harrison Ellenshaw, and visual effects supervisor Richard Taylor.
  • The Tron Phenomenon featurette
  • Photo Tronology featurette
  • The Making of Tron documentary
  • Development featurettes
  • Digital Imagery featurette
  • Music featurette
  • Publicity and promotional materials
  • Deleted scenes
  • Design featurettes
  • Storyboarding featurettes
  • Galleries

$40 | Releases September 16

Released in 2010, Tron Legacy was directed by Joseph Kosinski and it used advances in special effects technology to build a version of the Grid that truly felt like a digital frontier. This version of the movie has been remastered in High Dynamic Range from the original digital sources under the supervision of Kosinski, and it also includes Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio options. Like Tron, you’re also getting standard Blu-ray and digital streaming code copies of the film alongside the 4K disc. The steelbook cover is also eye-catching, as it’s a collage of characters and technology on the front and the rear, while the inside shows off a scene from the movie’s evolved lightcycle race.

This edition also contains the legacy bonus features from the previous Blu-ray release, but again, these provide an incredibly detailed look behind the scenes of Tron: Legacy. Not only do you get a selection of documentaries and featurettes, but there’s even a music video from the film’s composers, award-winning duo Daft Punk. Sadly, there’s no director’s commentary audio track, but this is a pretty good collection of extras overall.

Tron Legacy Special Features

  • The Next Day: Flynn Lives Revealed interactive documentary
  • First Look at Tron: Uprising animated series featurette
  • Launching the Legacy featurette
  • Visualizing Tron FX featurette
  • Installing the Cast featurette
  • Disc Roars San Diego Comic Con panel
  • Daft Punk music video: Derezzed

If you’ve never watched the series, the Tron movies are set primarily in a digital world known as the Grid. The first film starred Jeff Bridges as a brilliant video game developer who is beamed into the Grid after hacking the mainframe computer of his ex-employer, and he finds that this dangerous world is part of the very game he was designing. Tron: Legacy arrived 28 years later, and it saw Flynn’s son transported to the Grid, which was now under the control of sinister forces.

Tron 4k Steelbook Blu-ray

After the release of Tron Legacy, an interquel animated series was released in the form of Tron: Uprising. The show revolved around a young program named Beck, who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution against the corrupt regime led by the villainous Clu and his evil henchman, General Tesler. The show featured incredible animation and mature storytelling, and while it isn’t available in a collected form on DVD or Blu-ray anymore, you can stream it on Prime Video or Disney Plus.

Tron: Legacy 4K Steelbook Blu-ray

Meanwhile, Tron: Ares is scheduled to be released on October 10. The film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson, and it follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission.

There are a lot of exciting 4K Blu-ray releases on the horizon. On September 9, Ballerina From the World of John Wick and Jurassic World Rebirth arrive. In October, Shin Godzilla and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be available with Steelbook Editions of their own. And for a video game-inspired movie based on an actual video game, the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie is getting a new 4K Steelbook Edition. It was supposed to release right before the new movie, but Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema just delayed Mortal Kombat 2 to Summer 2026.

For more classic sci-fi, check out the newly released Lost in Space Limited Edition, which just launched September 2 on 4K Blu-ray with a 50% discount. DC superhero fans can pick up the new Superman 5-Film Steelbook Library Collection exclusively at Amazon.
