More Black Ops 2 Maps Teased For Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7

by admin September 8, 2025

Ahead of Black Ops 7’s November release, Treyarch dropped a brief video to answer some questions about the game’s multiplayer. The developer discussed some of the movement changes coming to Call of Duty in Black Ops 7 as well as teased more remastered maps from 2012’s Black Ops 2.

A lot of popular Call of Duty maps have been remastered over the years, and Black Ops 7 is already confirmed to have three at launch. Raid, Hijacked, and Express return this year, but they’ve all been remastered in previous Black Ops games, leaving fans eager for different maps to appear.

When asked if players can get some Black Ops 2 remasters that have never been seen before, Treyarch design director Matt Scronce simply answered, “Yes, you can.”

Maps like Yemen and Plaza have been highly requested over the years, so hopefully these locations will finally return to Call of Duty as remastered maps in Black Ops 7.

Scronce also discussed the movement for Black Ops 7 multiplayer. The developer re-confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 doesn’t feature jet packs or wall-running mechanics. Instead, the game includes redefined omnimovement with a wall-jump ability, which can be chained together for up to three jumps.

“On that second and third jump, you’re going to lose a little bit of momentum,” Scronce explained. “We honestly want to make sure people aren’t ping ponging around the maps.”

Activision recently revealed that the previously announced Carry Forward program for Black Ops 7 has been cancelled, mostly. Weapons, operator skins, and other cosmetics from Black Ops 6 will no longer transfer to Black Ops 7. Only double XP tokens and GobbleGums will continue to carry forward.

You’ll be able to try out the game’s multiplayer next month, as detailed in our guide on how to get access to the Black Ops 7 beta.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. You can find highlights of all major Black Ops 7 announcements here, which includes details on an endgame for the campaign, a massive round-based Zombies map, and a futuristic design for multiplayer.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reduces File Size, Causes Problems For Players

by admin September 6, 2025

File optimization for large games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sounds like good idea, especially when more space is needed on consoles. The latest Black Ops 6 update went live this week and it appears to have significantly shrunk the file size. It’s also caused issues with some players and seemingly deleted the game from their systems.

A member of GameSpot’s staff shared screenshots that demonstrated a drop from 222.1 GB before the update to 122.8 GB afterwards.

On top is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 file size before the update, and the new file size is shown below.

However, there are multiple reports from players on Reddit that the update deleted Black Ops 6 from their consoles. The update apparently removed Black Ops 6’s core installation and left behind the Call of Duty HQ launcher, which takes up a lot less space. Black Ops 6 can still be reinstalled alongside download content packs and the multiplayer suite. But given the large amount of added content purchased and downloaded by players since the game’s debut, the amount of file size reduction might vary from player to player.

PlayStation 5 players: with today’s Call of Duty update, you need to go to Mange Installs and re-install Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Pack.
The pack is 98GB download, but will only take up 27GB on the console after install. pic.twitter.com/VRA2IBeZcl

— CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) September 4, 2025

The Version 1.080 update also includes aspects that may be more well-received, including bug fixes, balancing tweaks, a new multiplayer map, and more modes like Reckoning Directed for zombies.

Some fans were recently upset to learn that the Carry Forward option for weapon and operator skins purchased in Black Ops 6 won’t be carried over to Black Ops 7. And the life cycle for Black Ops 6 is winding down now that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on November 14 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Fan-favorite Black Ops 6 perk completely broken in Season 5 Reloaded

by admin September 5, 2025

One of Black Ops 6’s must-use perks is actually broken following the Season 5 Reloaded update, and Call of Duty fans aren’t pleased.

Call of Duty has always had a meta in some form or another in multiplayer. Everyone remembers the Heartbeat Sensor and Commando Pro from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), while more recent examples include the DMR, Grau, and DMR in Warzone.

Black Ops 6 has, of course, fallen into different metas at times too. The seasonal updates are meant to provide shifts in those popular choices with balancing adjustments. However, it doesn’t always work out like that.

Season 5 Reloaded has brought out some changes, but one unexpected tweak has fallen the way of Ninja. The perk wasn’t touched in the new update, but has become “broken” for a number of fans.

Ninja perk broken in Black Ops 6

Since the new update, which went live on September 3, players have reported that the perk no longer gives you silent footsteps when moving around the map.

“Completely broken. Playing some ridiculous S&D matches right now,” one fan said. “for some strange reason on all my weapon classes my ninja perk is like defective, im still able to hear my footsteps,” another reported.

“Not hopping back on until this is fixed, the maps don’t play very well without ninja,” complained another. “Something is wrong with footsteps for sure. At first, I thought it was Ninja not working, but I think teammates footsteps are louder too?” another chimed in.

As it stands, the Call of Duty devs have not flagged the issue on their CODUpdates page or their Trello board. Yet, that hasn’t stopped fans from asking for a fix.

“The perk can still be equipped but fails to function as intended (acting as if you don’t have it). Unclear how long the issue will last,” one fan said.

Others have claimed that Flak Jacket is also not working as intended, but it also hasn’t been flagged for a change in the patch notes.

Samsung PRO Plus 1TB microSD Memory Card With Adapter Is Now $15 Cheaper Than Black Friday Pricing

by admin September 4, 2025

If there is one thing that anybody with one or several tech devices will never say no to, it’s more storage. Think about it: Everything from your smartphone and tablet to your laptop, digital camera, handheld gaming console — even your drone if you’re an enthusiast (like us) — they’re all just as good as their amount of memory allows them to be. That’s why this limited-time deal at Amazon is so universally appealing: Save 35% off the price of the Samsung PRO Plus microSD 1TB memory card and adapter and boost your storage for just $75.

Samsung’s title as the World’s #1 Flash Memory Brand has been going strong for 22 years now, going all the way back to when 8GB thumb drives were the giant-capacity devices to have. This Samsung PRO Plus microSD card is 125 times bigger than that in capacity, and comes in a much smaller package. Times have changed for sure, but Samsung’s reign as the top flash memory brand is still in effect, which makes this Amazon deal even sweeter.

See at Amazon

Blazing Speed

Throw it back to 2003 again for just a moment and recall what it was like to move huge files onto a portable storage device. You’d drag and drop, and then go make yourself something to eat while periodically checking in on that bar graph window to see how much longer you had to wait. The Samsung PRO Plus microSD card reads data at 180 MB/s and sequentially writes it at 130 MB/s, so make that sandwich to go, because you won’t be waiting long.

As for storage size, just how big is a terabyte? Enough for 47 hours of 4K video, or nearly 160 hours of full-HD video, or 437,298 4K photos, or 654,480 HD photos. Chances are, you may never actually fill this $75 storage beast, but if you do, those read-write speeds will come in incredibly handy. And you can fill, empty, and refill the PRO Plus microSD card over and over again, because despite it’s amazingly minuscule size, it’s built to last. Samsung made it to withstand water, extreme temperatures, magnets, x-rays, and drops, which is why so many photo and video pros swear by them for live outdoor shoots.

Universal Appeal

You can take the Samsung PRO Plus microSD out into the wild in a digital camera, GoPro or other action camera, or drone, but it’s certainly just as much at home in your home. Smartphones and tablets, laptops, home security systems, and handheld gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch (not the Switch 2) all benefit from the extra storage of the 1TB microSD card. The format is nearly universal.

Now that we’ve established how far an extra terabyte of memory in a near-universal format goes and in how many devices, this Amazon limited-time deal taking 35% off the price of the 1TB model of the Samsung PRO Plus microSD card looks even better. The Samsung 1TB PRO Plus microSD card is just $75 right now at Amazon, down from its regular price of $115.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded brings plenty of major weapons buffs and nerfs, shaking up the meta across both games.

The Season 5 Reloaded update has arrived, and it’s yet another big content drop for both games. Not only does it add new maps and modes, it also comes with the Nuketown Block Party event and a powerful new attachment for the PPSh-41.

On top of all that, as always, it also includes substantial weapon balancing changes that are looking to keep the meta feeling fresh. So, here are all of the buffs and nerfs in the mid-season update.

The AK-74 is meant to fit a high damage, slower handling and mobility role in the AR class. Over the course of the Black Ops 6 seasons, this position has become less unique, and we’ve seen the weapon fall to the lower end of ARs in our data. We are giving the AK-74 a new, more powerful Max Damage Range up close. Our goal is to set it apart from the other ARs with similar damage profiles and emphasize the original design intent of this weapon.

CoD fans mourn popular skin after big Black Ops 7 carry forward change

by admin August 28, 2025

Call of Duty fans are going to miss one fan-favorite skin in Black Ops 7 after it was announced that skins from Black Ops 6 will not carry forward.

Over the last few years, Call of Duty players have gotten increasingly vocal about their dislike of some of the cartoony skins that have started populating the games.

Rather than crossovers with Beavis and Butthead, American Dad, and even Godzilla, they want more realistic and military skins added to the mix. With Black Ops 7’s release on the horizon, it has been announced that cosmetics from Black Ops 6 won’t be carried forward.

Article continues after ad

“Black Ops 7 needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting. That is why Black Ops 6 Operator and Weapon content will not carry forward to Black Ops 7,” the devs said. Warzone, however, will be unaffected by this.

Black Ops fans will miss The Replacer skin in BO7

The change has been somewhat celebrated by fans. Many are hopeful that the apparent switch to be more “authentic” will deliver them what they’ve been asking for, while others fear cosmetic sales will become rampant.

However, some are going to miss pretty popular skins. “RIP The Replacer,” Redditor ILoveKetchup402 said, mourning the inability to use it in Black Ops 7. “RIPlacer,” another added.

“I absolutely despise Beavis & Butthead, unicorns, cartoons etc. I just wanted to use my replacer, t800, ballerina,” another commented. “That’s what pissed me off about the switch. I bought The Replacer skin because I thought I would be able to use him in both games,” another said.

Others quipped that the devs will simply re-release popular skins so fans have to fork out again.

“Don’t worry, The Replacer will be replaced by the new The Replacer,” one joked.

As noted, skins purchased in Black Ops 6 will still be usable in Warzone. So, you’re not losing them for good. They just won’t be in normal multiplayer games.

Part of the team behind EA’s cancelled Black Panther game joins Wizards of the Coast

by admin August 27, 2025

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Wizards of the Coast president John Hight has revealed that a team of developers that were formerly working on EA’s cancelled Black Panther game has joined the company to work on a new title.

The team is led by veteran creative director Michael de Plater, who was a key figure at Monolith Productions, and director of 2014’s Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. He previously worked on games like Tom Clancy’s EndWar and Rome: Total War.

Hight says that along with de Plater, Wizards of the Coast has welcomed a number of other developers from Cliffhanger Games, the EA subsidiary that was revealed in 2023 to be working on Black Panther. But the project was cancelled and the studio shuttered in May this year.

“We were actually able to bring him and 14 key people that he’s worked with there – and many of them at Monolith – to incubate a new game for us,” says Hight.

“He’ll be starting concept development on something very cool and new – and that part I can’t tell you yet.”

The new project is still in the early design phases. “We want to give him time,” Hight says about de Plater’s work on the new title. “We’ll go through a fairly lengthy concept process where they’re going to look at a lot of different ideas.”

Hight says it will be a similar process to what Wizards of the Coast has recently been doing with Stig Asmussen, the director of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The company is working with Asmussen’s new studio, Giant Skull, on an unannounced title.

“We’re super excited to have him as part of the team,” says Hight about de Plater’s arrival, adding that at some point de Plater will be “rooming with all of us” in the Seattle area, home of the Wizards of the Coast headquarters.

Black Ops 7 carry forward is no more as devs axe old skins and promise a return to a more ‘grounded’ Call of Duty

by admin August 27, 2025

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will no longer have carry forward
  • The feature would have allowed you to use some Black Ops 6 unlocks in the game
  • The change was confirmed in a developer blog post

Activision has confirmed that you will not be able to access operators, skins, and weapons from Black Ops 6 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

The feature, known as carry forward, was previously going to give players the ability to use select content from Black Ops 6 in the upcoming entry. Although some fans appreciated the option to bring forward their favorite unlocks, many were concerned that this would undermine the identity of the new game.

I was personally pretty disappointed with the news that carry forward would be present given the disparate settings of the two titles. While Black Ops 6 is set in the 1990s, Black Ops 7 takes place in 2035 – so running around with Gulf War era gear wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

The news of the decision was announced in a community update blog post, where the developers discuss the top frankly.

“We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty. Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded,” it read. “That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously.”

“Black Ops 7 needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting. That is why Black Ops 6 Operator and Weapon content will not carry forward to Black Ops 7,” it continued.

Importantly your current stock of Double XP tokens and GobbleGums will still carry over into Black Ops 7, which is good news for those aiming to progress as quickly as possible on day one.

Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.

Warzone and Black Ops 6 is also not affected, so you don’t need to worry about losing access to any of your current content.

The post also explained that the developers had heard feedback on in-game bundles, which some players found a little too outlandish in Black Ops 6.

“In Black Ops 7, bundles and items will be crafted to fit the Black Ops identity,” the post stated. “We hear the feedback. We need to deliver a better balance toward the immersive, core Call of Duty experience.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release is set to release on November 14, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.

Black Ops 7 u-turns on Black Ops 6 Carry Forward just days after announcing it because of the massive backlash

by admin August 27, 2025

Activision has made a major announcement regarding a particular feature in this year’s Call of Duty, Black Ops 7. The game, which had its full reveal at gamescom just one week ago, will no longer support Carry Forward.

Carry Forward is a feature that allows players to bring Black Ops 6 weapons, operators, skins and other cosmetics with them to the new game. Unfortunately, that’s made it more difficult for players to be excited about the upcoming game.

While Carry Forward is something that would typically be celebrated for respecting the players’ legacy and time spent, it has gained an especially negative connotation. Over the course of Black Ops 6’s lifespan, Activision continued to deviate from the original art style and look of the game by introducing more cross-over and cartoony skins, which have practically turned it into Fortnite.

Since it was confirmed for Black Ops 7, fan reaction online has been overwhelmingly negative. The decision to drop the feature just a week after it was announced was made in a blog post that specifically points to that fan response. It also acknowledges that the series may have deviated from that cohesive look.

“We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty,” the post reads.

“Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you.”

I wouldn’t call this the most ‘authentic’ either… | Image credit: Treyarch, Raven, Activision.

What that means in practice is that Black Ops 6 weapons, operators – and crucially, operator skins, will not be available for use in Black Ops 7. This won’t affect Warzone, however, as the battle royale mode will continue to have continuity with previous games. Double XP tokens and GobbleGums are exempt from this, and will be the only items to carry forward to the new game.

The blog post also confirms that Black Ops 7 store bundles will be “crafted to fit the Black Ops identity.”

“We need to deliver a better balance toward the immersive, core Call of Duty experience,” it adds.

Before Black Ops 7’s launch on November 14, we’re getting a new edition of Call of Duty: Next on September 30, where multiplayer will be shown off for the first time. A few days afterwards, the Black Ops 7 beta will kick off.
