816,760% Profit Triggers Epic Ethereum Whale Awakening After 9 Years of Silence

by admin June 16, 2025

One of Ethereum’s oldest wallets has just been revived, and the numbers are truly mind-blowing.

According to blockchain tracking service Whale Alert, a dormant pre-mine address holding 2,000 ETH worth just $620 back in 2015 has been activated after nearly 10 years of silence. At today’s price, that stash is valued at over $5 million — a staggering 816,760% gain.

You Might Also Like

The wallet address “0xcF264” has been confirmed as a Genesis Block participant, and it’s linked to one of Ethereum’s original funding addresses. After years of inactivity, it suddenly moved 500 ETH worth $1.27 million to another wallet, “0x2C12,” just 11 hours ago, which obviously led to speculation about the intent behind the transaction.

💤 A dormant pre-mine address containing 2,000 #ETH (5,063,918 USD) has just been activated after 9.9 years (worth 620 USD in 2015)!https://t.co/G0i8Rif0XX

— Whale Alert (@whale_alert) June 14, 2025

Even after offloading 500 ETH, the whale still holds 1,500 ETH, worth about $3.78 million at market price of $2,517 per ETH.

This reactivation is happening at a time when the market is a bit more volatile for Ethereum, with the asset recovering from recent lows but still trading far below its all-time highs of around $4,800.

The chart speaks for itself — Ethereum has seen multiple boom-bust cycles over the past nine years, and this whale has essentially ridden them all out. The timing of the movement is interesting, especially with ETH price trying to break out from a bigger consolidation range.

Events like this are often seen as big deals, not just because of their market impact, but also the psychological impact they have.

When wallets that haven’t been active for a long time start moving, especially ones from the early days of Ethereum, it makes you wonder: Is the whale selling, moving for security, or planning something more strategic?

Dune: Awakening and Stellar Blade both set new concurrent user records on Steam this weekend

by admin June 15, 2025

Both Dune: Awakening and Stellar Blade have set new concurrent user records on Steam over the weekend.

Dune: Awakening, which released 10th June for all, and Stellar Blade, which had its long-anticipated PC debut on 11th, both launched with comparatively few problems, and their success has been underlined by the number of players getting stuck in over the weekend. At the time of writing, Dune: Awakening has secured an all-time concurrent peak of 175.5K players, and Stellar Blade 192K.

Stellar Blade PC features trailer.Watch on YouTube

That puts both games in the top ten of most-played games of the weekend, with just Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, Dota 2, and Apex Legends attracting more players.

The PlayStation-published Stellar Blade made its way onto PC earlier this week and within hours of release, it was already the most successful PlayStation-published single-player game on the platform by concurrent count.

In comparison, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has a peak player count of 66,436, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition has a peak of 56,557, The Last of Us Part 1 has a peak of 36,496 and its sequel – The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered – has a peak of 30,690. Only Helldivers 2 has attracted more players at once, but that’s, of course, a multiplayer title.

Dune Awakening soared past 142,000 concurrent players on Steam following its full public release, quickly surpassing the peak established during the five-day head start for those who bought the Deluxe or Ultimate edition. Within hours of the full launch, it blew past 113,000 players and currently has a concurrent record of 175K.

Not sure if either game is for you? In Eurogamer’s original Stellar Blade review, we noted it “has a fair bit of weirdness”, but ” its killer tunes and vibey, flow-state combat – plus a transformative hard mode – are enough to leave you entranced”. Meanwhile, Connor’s having a great time with Dune: Awakening thus far, writing in our review-in-progress: “It’s too early for a full review, but as of right now, I see little reason not to recommend giving Dune Awakening’s unique offering a chance.”

Shiba Inu 249% On-Chain Surge: Whales Awakening?

by admin June 15, 2025

Dog-themed cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) is exhibiting signs of life once more — and this time it could be whales making waves.

According to on-chain data by IntoTheBlock, large transaction volume for SHIB has skyrocketed by 249% in the last 24 hours to $40.62 million or 3.36 trillion SHIB, sparking fresh speculation that whales might be reentering the market.

Large transaction volume typically tracks movements of over $100,000 in value (referred to as large transactions), often linked to institutional players or large holders. A spike in this metric suggests increased activity among large holders or whales.

The recent increase is significant as Shiba Inu’s large transaction volume has stalled since June 7 after reaching a near six-month high of 24.3 trillion SHIB on June 5.

You Might Also Like

When large holders start shifting coins, it can indicate accumulation before a potential price breakout or strategic repositioning ahead of a major market move. In SHIB’s case, the current surge appears more aligned with accumulation, as the price remains low, implying that whales may be preparing for something major.

At the time of writing, SHIB was up 4.27% in the last 24 hours to $0.00001219 after reaching a low of $0.00001141 in a three-day sell-off from a high of $0.00001362 on June 11.

Shiba Inu’s new developments

Shib Rollups is now live, as Shiba Inu dives deeper into blockchain infrastructure with a new platform that allows developers to create their customizable Layer-2 blockchains on Shibarium.

You Might Also Like

This recent development marks Shiba Inu’s official entry into the fast-growing rollups-as-a-service (RaaS) industry, delivering dedicated blockchain settings for decentralized apps (dApps).

The Shib Rollups platform is powered by Shiba Inu’s recently launched Shib Alpha Layer, which is an important part of the network’s evolving infrastructure.

This week, Shiba Inu launched Shib Alpha Layer in beta version, a rollup abstraction stack built with ElderLabs and settled on Shibarium. Shib Alpha Layer unifies every RollApp into a single ultra-fast layer, giving users the impression that they are on one chain while dozens of rollups hum beneath the surface.

Awakening Devs Work To Fix ‘Goomba Stomping’ Ornithopters

by admin June 13, 2025

In a crowded field full of online survival sims, Dune: Awakening is kicking up storm. The adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novels lets players build bases, rid sand worms, and smash Ornithopters into one another. That last part has become a problem, and the developers are already looking into a fix.

10 Minutes From The Last Of Us Part II’s Roguelike Mode

Dune’s Ornithopters are helicopters shaped like dragonflies. In Dune: Awakening, they’re one of the many vehicles players can build that serve as both a resource and an end-goal of sorts. They require a lot of equipment and resources to craft if you’re playing solo, which is why most of them belong to players working in groups. It turns out that they’re pretty indestructible too, making them lethal weapons for ramming enemy players with in PVP.

Reddit user Bombe18 shared his run-in with Dune: Awakening’s man-made scourge in a recent clip that blew up on the subreddit showing him repeatedly being accosted by multiple Ornithopters. Shooting at them does nothing. They’re unscathed by constantly smashing into the ground on top of him. At one point, he tries to wall-jump off a ledge and stab one. “Yeah sorry about this,” wrote game director Joel Bylos. “We have people working on fixing the goomba stomping ASAP.”

Players have been debating the role of Ornithopters in Dune: Awakening since its beta tests last year. On the one hand, they’re a lot of fun and a cool reward for players to build toward. On the other, they sort of trivialize trying to travel around the desert and survive, the two things the game is supposed to be about. They can also shoot missiles, completely dominating the ground game. Now that’s real desert power.

In terms of stopping players from griefing one another with Ornithopters, there are a few different suggestions. Some players just want the vehicles not to be able to be used as weapons at all. Others want them isolated to specific PVP areas. Another solution is to make it easier to destroy them. “Seems like they should just make guns deal more damage to them,” wrote one player. “They’d think twice about doing this if their orni could get wrecked by gunfire.” Another wrote, “Make Deep Desert crashes do significant damage. Two crashes or something past a certain physics threshold should disable the vehicle.”

However the developers decide to address the recent outbreak of Ornithopter “goomba stomping,” Dune: Awakening is having a great launch so far. Out earlier this week on PC, it’s nearing a 90 percent positive rating on Steam with almost 20,000 reviews. The concurrent player-count is very healthy, too, peaking at just under 150,000 heading into the weekend.

Unfortunately, console players will have to wait a bit to build Ornithropters of their own. A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release isn’t planned until sometime in 2026.

Dune Awakening PvP is being dominated by one busted technique – crushing people with helicopters

by admin June 13, 2025

Dune Awakening is currently in the primordial ooze phase of its PvP meta, as players hit the end game and figure out which weapons and strategies are the best for taking out their fellow man. In this soup they’ve discovered a busted technique that’s strong – so strong that the developers are stepping in to fix it.

That technique is repeatedly landing your orniphopter (the Dune equivalent of a helicopter) onto someone until they die. You see, a player packing a pistol or powerful rifle may be able to outshoot a foe on foot, but these weapons won’t do much against a vehicle.

While a buggy or bike can be avoided by climbing to higher ground, an orniphopter crushing from above is significantly harder to avoid. Add on top of this the fact that landing on a player doesn’t damage the vehicle in any way, and you’ve got an ammoless, largely skilless method of taking out any player you find in a PvP environment.

Check out the latest cinematic trailer for Dune Awakening here!Watch on YouTube

This scenario is perfectly captured by Bombe18 on the Dune Reddit, who provided a video of them being repeatedly crushed in the Deep Desert. What’s particularly funny about this video is the pilots appear to be letting Mr Bombe18 self revive each time before crushing them again.

Later in the video, another orniphopter flies over and joins in, at which point Bombe uses the in-game proximity voice chat to concede defeat. To this surrender, the pilots silently continue to crush Bombe.

In the replies to this video, Funcom’s very own CCO Joel Bylos responded to say: “Yeah sorry about this. We have people working on fixing the goomba stomping ASAP.”

Dune developpers, I agree to have a defeat in PVP. But been crushed by orni that do not take any damage. No.

So there are multiple ways of looking at this. Let’s start at the obvious. This is quite funny. Not for Bombe, or anyone else on the receiving end of orniphopter “goomba stomping”, but for those watching it happen. Especially the pilots, one can only assume.

But it probably isn’t healthy for the game either. One could argue, as I was initially inclined, that the game provides weapons better suited for dealing with vehicles. The missile launcher is the obvious example.

But, then again, should every Dune Awakening player have to pack a missile launcher for a trip to the Deep Desert, lest they end up like Romano in ER? The answer is probably no.

You could also argue that the game has only been out for a short while, and its substantial playerbase could have adapted to the orniphopter crushing strategy with techniques of their own. Perhaps widespread adoption of the missile launcher, sure. Or maybe a standard practice of keeping a bike in your vehicle storage, so that you can quickly drop a bike and hop on it before you get stuck in the great limbo of orniphotercide.

This would be more convincing if crashing into people from above was an intended use of the orniphopter, and not an obvious oversight. Bylos’ quick response and promise to remedy the situation reveals this to be true. So, as funny as it is to watch videos of Dune Awakening Goomba stomps happen, the sooner this technique is banished from the game the better.

Dune: Awakening players have found a devious way to grief each other outside of PvP zones

by admin June 13, 2025

Dune: Awakening has a comprehensive base-building policy that goes something like this:

  • Build a base wherever you want.

That’s pretty much the entire policy.

There are restrictions, of course: build too far out on the sand and a sandworm will show up and eat a hunk of your base—with you in it, if you’re not careful. And you can’t build within a certain radius of an established location like a tradepost or faction stronghold. But that’s about it. Otherwise, you can build wherever you like.

Related articles

And boy, players have embraced that and built everywhere. Arrakis is covered with bases, some small, some sprawling, as players spread out across the map. And even though most of Dune: Awakening takes place in PvE territory, players have started using this free-for-all base-building system to royally grief each other.

Some bases are just insensitively placed: players build across a gap between rocks that other players use to drive sandbikes and buggies through, for instance. It acts like a roadblock, making everyone go the long way around or even get out and jog for a bit, which sucks if you’re out doing some resource gathering or trying to bang out a few missions.

Other base placements are downright sinister. Players have begun building bases over pockets of resources, like the plants you can harvest water from. Nothing wrong with building near a resource node: it just makes good sense. But building on top of one, essentially meaning other players can’t use it at all? Pretty shifty. On the other hand, this is Arrakis where cutthroat behavior is the norm. All’s fair in the War of Assassins.

Base-building gets downright ruthless with one particular strategy I’ve seen reported a few times now. A player will craft an ornithopter—a tremendous undertaking considering all the resource collecting and refining that goes into it—and take it out for a spin. If they see a spice blow or some other opportunity to harvest resources, they land, hop out, and get to work.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

That’s when another player quickly runs up, claims the land the ‘thopter is parked on, and quickly builds a tiny base around it. The pilot returns to discover their ship is now locked within someone else’s walls.

I should mention I’ve not actually seen video evidence of this happening, but I’ve heard it reported by a couple of different players already, including writer Harry Alston over at TheGamer. And to be clear: building a base around someone’s ornithopter doesn’t mean you now own their ornithopter, it just means the ‘thopter owner can no longer reach it. That’s about as griefy as grief can get: you’re not benefiting at all, you’re just making someone else miserable.

It’s devious because there’s no real recourse. You can’t destroy another player’s base to free your vehicle, you can’t dismantle it because it’s behind someone’s walls, and in a PvE zone you can’t even shoot other players just to make yourself feel better.

That means the onus falls upon all you pilots out there. Be careful where you land, because that land might belong to somebody else by the time you get back.

How to find and complete the sixth trial in Dune: Awakening

by admin June 11, 2025

The Sixth Trial of Aql is one of the most disorienting and gear-sensitive challenges in Dune: Awakening.

While other trials might test your movement or combat skills, this one throws you into a confusing cave system deep in hostile high-level territory, where simply finding the altar is a puzzle of its own. Add in the possibility of aggressive NPCs, blocked paths, and maze-like corridors, and it’s easy to see why many players hit a wall here.

Article continues after ad

After getting lost more times than I care to admit, I’ve mapped out the correct path and broken down what you’ll face so you can reach and complete the trial without wasting time or dying needlessly.

Sixth Trial location

To begin, you need to travel to the top northeast corner of the map, where you’ll find Devil’s Eye Cavern.

Dexerto

The cave entrance is nestled in the rocky cliffs and easy to miss, so keep your map open. Once inside, immediately place a respawn beacon. The area is high-level and not forgiving if you lack solid gear.

Expect resistance: enemies may appear inside the cave. Bring a decent weapon and healing supplies. You’ll also find some decent loot here, including a rifle and standard resources.

The biggest challenge is navigation. The cavern has multiple blocked paths, misleading corridors, and dead ends. The correct route involves descending and looping around into a partially hidden passage that leads to the trial site. When you see collapsed paths and murals, you’re on the right track.

Article continues after ad

How to solve the Sixth Trial

Unlike earlier trials, the Sixth Trial is more of a lore-based experience than a combat gauntlet. Once you reach the altar, you’ll find it damaged and surrounded by murals referencing the Zensunni wanderers (ancestors to the Fremen).

Interact with the altar. You won’t face a fight here; instead, the trial focuses on discovery and understanding. It hints at the spiritual journey of the Fremen, their migration, and their transformation.

Your character will reflect on the destruction and beauty of the place, noting connections between ancient traditions and present trials. After this moment of quiet insight, the trial concludes automatically.

Dune Awakening hits 142,000 concurrent players during full launch, smashing past record

by admin June 11, 2025

Dune Awakening has soared past 142,000 concurrent players on Steam following its full public release.

According to SteamDB, the game quickly surpassed the peak established during the five day head start for those who bought the Deluxe or Ultimate edition. Within an hour of the full launch, it blew past 113,000 players.

There’s a new trailer out for Dune Awakening out today. Check it out!Watch on YouTube

So what can we infer from seeing Dune Awakening pull this off? Well, a growth of roughly 40 percent in peak players (on a Tuesday no less) indicates a sizable number of players were waiting in the wings for the cheaper version of the game. It’s still possible that the game could hit another peak too this weekend, following the trend established by the early launch.

It’ll be interesting to see to what degree the end game Landsraad and deep desert map can retain players, especially those who may have grabbed it for a romp with friends or a more single player, solitary experience. When you get to the end game, Dune Awakening does a baton pass from a survival game core to more of an MMO server-wide PvP and politics experience. How many of these initial players stick around for this bit, remains a big question.

To celebrate the full launch yesterday, it looks as though the Funcom team were enjoying mini cupcakes at the office, as shown off on social media by one Tascha Röösli on Twitter. Launching a video game, especially a big online one like Dune Awakening, is a big task. Why not celebrate a little?

Dune Awakening had previously proved so popular as to dethrone Elden RIng Nightreign from its perch atop of the Steam top sellers page just before its initial release on the 5th June.

If you’re looking to jump into the game, why not read Eurogamer’s Dune Awakening preview – it’s “the perfect blend of survival, MMORPG, and house envy”.

Dune Awakening 1.1.0.11 patch notes

by admin June 10, 2025

Funcom has released version 1.1.0.11 patch for Dune Awakening, and the update includes a bunch of bug fixes and some changes to increase the stability of gameplay.

This update was released on June 10, the same day as Dune Awakening‘s global launch. With each passing day, the devs are adding more servers to accommodate all the new players joining to ride the sandunes in Arrakis.

All changes in Dune Awakening Patch 1.1.0.11

Changes

  • Deployed another set of changes to further improve the game server and client stability.
  • Added more localization.

Tomorrow at 9:00AM CEST, we will release a new patch. At that time, we will take the servers down.

The expected downtime is up to two hours, but we will bring the servers back online as soon as the patching process is complete.

This means the Coriolis Storm will wipe the Deep…

— Dune: Awakening (@DuneAwakening) June 9, 2025

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the in-game UI showed the name of the Sietch when visiting while in the Streamer Mode.
  • Fixed an issue where players could sometimes see selected NPCs offset from their normal position.
  • Fixed a rare issue where players with above-minimum hardware could sometimes receive a pop-up warning that their hardware was below minimum specifications.

This update was released at around 11am CEST (4am CT), and the devs initially mentioned that the servers could be down for up to two hours. However, at the time of writing, they’ve completed the patching process and the servers are back online.

The devs have further mentioned, “This means the Coriolis Storm will wipe the Deep Desert and change its layout sooner on some servers that normally schedule daily restarts later in the day. Do not log out tonight in the Deep Desert and take all your valuable belongings with you.”

Dune Awakening officially released today worldwide, while its early access started five days earlier on June 5.
