Bitcoin Price Jumps to $106,000 After Trump Announces Ceasefire

by admin June 24, 2025

Bitcoin (BTC) has surged back above the $106,000 mark after dipping to $98,500 on Sunday, its lowest point in 45 days. The recovery came as U.S. President Donald Trump announced a “total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran, easing market fears and boosting investor confidence.

Despite the brief selloff, Bitcoin’s derivatives market stayed mostly stable. The price drop triggered $193 million in liquidations of bullish leveraged positions, but total futures open interest remains steady at $68 billion.

Donald J. Trump Truth Social 06.23.25 03:52 PM EST

Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was…

— Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social (@TrumpDailyPosts) June 23, 2025

There are traders who are now keenly observing whether Bitcoin will be able to breach the $110,000 resistance but there is still a worry about the geopolitical tensions that are still present. A prolonged conflict in the Middle East could still spook investors and lead to more risk-averse strategies.

Interestingly, Bitcoin’s network was also impacted during the weekend drop. The hashrate fell 8%, from 943.6 million TH/s to 865.1 million TH/s. Some analysts believe this could be linked to mining disruptions in Iran, where unverified reports suggest up to 2 gigawatts of power may be used by illegal mining farms.

However, sudden hashrate drops aren’t unusual. Daniel Batten noted similar declines have occurred in the U.S. during extreme weather events, such as the 27% plunge in April during Texas and Oklahoma storms.

Meanwhile, oil prices fell and the S&P 500 rose 1% on Monday. Traders are now more confident the U.S. Fed could cut interest rates soon. The chance of a rate cut by November has risen sharply, offering potential tailwinds for Bitcoin’s next move.

Ethereum (ETH) Surges 9% After Trump Announces Israel-Iran Ceasefire to End ‘The 12 DAY War’

by admin June 24, 2025

Ether (ETH)

is trading at $2,420, up 8.61% over the past 24 hours, after surging sharply in the hours following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s unexpected announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, according to CoinDesk Research’s technical analysis model.

The move appears to have reversed recent war-driven market anxiety, fueling renewed bullish sentiment across crypto markets.

At 10:02 p.m. UTC on June 23, Trump posted on Truth Social that a full ceasefire agreement had been reached by both Israel and Iran. According to his statement, each country would pause hostilities in coordinated stages: Iran would initiate a 12-hour ceasefire, followed by Israel, leading to a 24-hour complete cessation of the conflict. Trump described this as a successful conclusion to what he labeled a 12-day war — one he claimed could have escalated into a much longer and more devastating regional conflict. He praised both sides for choosing restraint and credited the agreement with averting further turmoil in the Middle East.

The announcement injected a wave of optimism into the crypto market, especially for high-beta assets like ether. Prior to the rally, ETH had already been showing signs of strength, supported by steady whale accumulation. On-chain data shows over $265 million in ETH was acquired by large holders during the recent downturn, including a single wallet that purchased 47,070 ETH —r oughly $113 million — over a three-day period.

Ethereum’s network fundamentals remain robust, with an average of 1 million new ETH wallet addresses created weekly since mid-May, representing a 50% year-over-year increase. With volatility receding and risk appetite returning, traders are now watching whether ETH can break through the next psychological threshold of $2,500.

Technical Analysis Highlights

  • ETH rallied 7.7% from $2,230 to $2,401 over the 24-hour analysis window.
  • High-volume support formed between $2,220 and $2,230, with initial buying at $2,191.36.
  • Price broke out above $2,400 during the 22:02–22:11 window as volume spiked to 28,149 ETH.
  • Resistance at $2,275 flipped into support as buying momentum accelerated.
  • ETH touched an intrahour high of $2,434.95 before entering a consolidation phase.
  • Price action formed a potential bull flag as ETH traded between $2,390 and $2,402.
  • Volume surged to 2.5x the 24-hour average in the final three hours of the session.
  • Higher lows confirmed bullish structure throughout the uptrend.

BAFTA announces 2025 Young Game Designers competition winners

by admin June 23, 2025

BAFTA has announced the winners of the 2025 Young Game Designers awards, hosted by Inel Tomlinson during a digital ceremony last week.

There were 52 finalists competing for one of two awards during the event’s 15th anniversary: the Game Concept Award and the Game Making Award.

The five winners of this year’s competition were aged between 12 to 18-years-old, the youngest being 13-year-old Thiago van Vlerken Rene who received the Game Making Award for his title Sir Floofington that takes place in a procedurally generated castle.

In the same age category, 14-year-old Tanisi Rawat won the Game Concept Award for The Undead – a non-linear psychological horror that “explores solitude and loneliness” that Rawat said highlights “the prevalence of solace and human kindness in a society unbound by proper law”.

In the 15 to 18-year-old group, Luke Rayfield received the Game Making Award for his game Furniture Fu that combines martial arts and interior decorating.

Isabelle Taylor and Emily Sun won the Game Concept Award for Mikka Bouzu, which follows a game designer “who has lost her passion for art” which was “made for players who struggle with the difficult transition from child to adult, and the burnout it often brings.”

The winners will be featured in the Power Up experience, which are currently being showcased at the Science Museum in London, the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, and the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford.

The games will also be showcased at 195 Piccadilly on June 29, 2025.

“BAFTA is dedicated to supporting emerging talent, and this year’s Young Game Designers are no exception,” said BAFTA executive director, learning, inclusion, policy and membership Tim Hunter.

“The amount of talent and creativity we’ve seen from our winning game creators and finalists has been a joy to behold, and their ideas continue to provide us with a fascinating insight into the younger generation.”

Hunter continued: “Since we began Young Game Designers in 2010, a lot has changed. Schools and wider society now increasingly recognise the creativity involved in game-making, as well as the opportunities games offer young people to express themselves and explore life’s big questions.

“We continue to work hard to champion the cultural contribution games make and to ensure the industry is accessible to everyone. I look forward to our BAFTA Young Game Designers Showcase, and to seeing what our brilliant winners and finalists do next.”

Modiphius announces a second edition of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare

by admin June 21, 2025

Modiphius Entertainment has today announced that it is currently developing a second edition of its popular Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures game, set to release in Q2 of 2026.

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare’s second edition will be a solo-first adventure wargame where players can explore a procedurally-generated wasteland with a hero from one of several factions of their choice, recruit a warband, and fight for survival against random creatures, mutants, and human enemies.

The game also allows for co-operative play, where one player can temporarily join another’s warband or two or more players can play in the same warband across a campaign map together. Players will also be able to create their own ‘hero’ characters to lead their warband with a simple character creation system. The second edition will also still support a battle mode, where players can either use their campaign warband to fight another player, or build custom warbands and choose a scenario to play against each other.

The second edition is set to launch eight years after the first, with this edition incorporating years of insights from the community, refining the game that existing players know and love, whilst making it more accessible to new players.

Initially the game will be launched with box sets, introducing the new gameplay and providing new plastic models to the already extensive range of Fallout miniatures Modiphius manufactures.

“The game will still be using our high-detailed resin miniatures, will be compatible with the new plastic sets we’re introducing, all at the same 32mm scale, so if you have an existing collection of our Fallout minis you’ll be able to start playing straight away,” says Modiphius’ Head of Brand, Samantha Webb. “While the scale will remain the same, we’ve been listening to the wider community in terms of detail, and so the style of our miniatures will become bolder, allowing their details to really pop on the table and make them easier to assemble and paint.”

“We’re doubling down on all the best bits of the Wasteland Warfare experience, inspired by elements of the Into the Wasteland, Homestead, and solo rules from the first edition, to give players a more refined and streamlined version of the solo campaign that’s so popular. The game really nails the feeling of Fallout: exploring the wasteland around you, being jumped by irradiated creatures, coming across other camps of survivors, raiders, or super mutants, and scavenging what you need for your warband to survive. War never changes!”

When the game is released, the following factions will be supported fully, before being expanded upon in other rules products:

Microsoft announces new dream team partnership with AMD on a ‘portfolio’ of next-gen Xbox devices, all with backwards compatibility with existing games

by admin June 18, 2025

Xbox + AMD: Powering the Next Generation of Xbox – YouTube

Watch On

Microsoft has just dropped a video showcasing their plans for future Xbox hardware based on AMD technology. The main takeaways? First, Xbox will become a “portfolio” of devices including traditional console, PC and handhelds. Second, backwards compatibility with existing Xbox games is central to the new strategy.

Xbox President Sarah Bond has fronted a new video on the official Xbox YouTube channel, spelling out Microsoft’s plans for future Xbox hardware. Superficially, the big news is a partnership with AMD.

“We’ve established a strategic multi-year partnership with AMD to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices, including our next-generation Xbox consoles in your living room and in your hands,” Bond said.

Related articles

What kind of devices, you ask? “That’s why we’re investing in our next-generation hardware lineup, across console, handheld, PC, cloud and accessories,” Bond explained. Notably, the new Asus ROG Xbox Ally devices flashed up in the video when Bond name-checked “handheld.”

Of course, Microsoft already partners with AMD on Xbox silicon and the Asus ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds have already been announced. So those elements aren’t necessarily news. So what is this video really about?

There may be some internal, inside-baseball dimension to all this for Microsoft. But for gamers, arguably, two issues stand out. First, Microsoft is further signalling Xbox’s transition from conventional console to a more amorphous platform.

That is most obvious in the video in the passage where Bond calls out “cloud” gaming, and a Gamepass cloud gaming interface is shown, with a large caption above that reads, “This is also an Xbox, by itself”. In other words, Xbox gaming needn’t involve Xbox hardware at all.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

The other broad takeaway is backwards compatibility. Bond said the partnership with AMD will deliver the “next generation of graphics innovation,” but critically, it will do so “all while maintaining backwards compatibility with your existing library of Xbox games.”

That’s good news for existing Xbox gamers, even if it’s awfully vague. Does that mean all Xbox future hardware will be compatible with legacy Xbox games? Does it mean cloud services will do the heavy lifting when it comes to running old titles?

Ultimately, there are no specifics. Indeed, there are few specifics about anything. It’s not even totally clear if there will be any what you might call “pure” Microsoft Xbox devices, designed and engineered by Microsoft itself.

As we’ve reported recently, one narrative that’s doing the rounds is that Microsoft itself will move away from producing Xbox hardware itself in favour of partnering with third parties on devices, just as it has done with the new Asus ROG Xbox Ally.

Is this the last “pure Microsoft” Xbox console? (Image credit: Future)

In that scenario, even regular consoles would no longer be built by Microsoft. That story also suggested that future Xbox consoles would be more similar to PCs, in hardware terms, than ever before, something that certainly applies to the Asus ROG Xbox Ally, both versions of which use existing AMD silicon that wasn’t developed in partnership with AMD.

Whether some or all future Xbox devices will use generic AMD PC silicon, exactly what Microsoft’s partnership with AMD on silicon entails, all of this is unclear. It could mean custom chips, just like those in the Xbox Series S and Series X.

That would presumably mean x86-based CPUs, perhaps using the upcoming Zen 6 architecture, paired with AMD’s new UDNA graphics technology, maybe with some Xbox-only enhancements.

Or maybe it just means Microsoft and AMD making sure the latter’s mainstream PC silicon, including APUs, has a few features and optimisations to Microsoft’s liking.

It will likely be years before we find out. Going by past Microsoft leaks, any next-gen Xbox console probably won’t appear before 2027. But now you know it’ll run your old games, in some form at least.

Marathon Delayed Indefinitely As Bungie Announces Big Changes

by admin June 18, 2025

Bungie announced that Marathon, the Destiny studio’s next big video game, has been delayed and will no longer be launching in September. The company gave no new release date but promised to add features and make several changes that players requested after Marathon’s alpha test earlier this year.

The Week In Games: A Star Wars Classic Returns & More New Releases

On June 17, Bungie’s Marathon development team confirmed that the sci-fi FPS would not launch on September 23, citing feedback it received from the alpha. Many players found that alpha to be underwhelming, hard to play solo, lacking the tension seen in other extraction shooters, and not feeling like a part of the existing Marathon franchise that Bungie created back in the 1990s.

“Through every comment and real-time conversation on social media and Discord, your voice has been strong and clear,” said Bungie in a post on its website. “We’ve taken this to heart, and we know we need more time to craft Marathon into the game that truly reflects your passion. After much discussion within our Dev team, we’ve made the decision to delay the September 23rd release.”

Kotaku has contacted Sony and Bungie about the delay.

In the post on Bungie’s official site, the dev team says it has a few key areas it is focusing on immediately, including making NPC enemies more “challenging and engaging” and improving Marathon’s “visual fidelity.” The team also plans to add proximity chat, a highly requested feature that exists in most other popular extraction shooters but wasn’t going to be included in Marathon.

Here’s everything Bungie says it is focusing on as it works to improve Marathon based on feedback from fans:

  • Upping the Survival Game
-More challenging and engaging AI encounters
-More rewarding runs, with new types of loot and dynamic events
-Making combat more tense and strategic
  • Doubling down on the Marathon Universe
    -Increased visual fidelity
-More narrative and environmental storytelling to discover and interact with
-A darker tone that delivers on the themes of the original trilogy
  • Adding more social experiences
-A better player experience for solo/duos
-Prox chat, so social stories can come to life

Marathon has had a rough few months

In 2023, Bungie and parent company PlayStation revealed Marathon with a flashy and really cool-looking trailer. Since then, the game has gone through a rocky development process and changed a lot, evolving into a more round-based hero shooter with extraction elements.

In April, Bungie ran a big alpha test for Marathon, letting a bunch of people get their hands on the upcoming FPS. The alpha didn’t go over incredibly well. Many extraction players felt like it lacked the tension found in other games in the genre, like Escape From Tarkov. Visually, the game looked pretty plain and boring outside of its lavishly detailed interiors. Maps felt small. Gunplay against NPCs was fun, but often too easy. Loot wasn’t great. Playing solo wasn’t much fun. Worst of all, it felt like a lot of this wouldn’t be fixed or improved on in the six months before Marathon’s planned September launch.

Then, in May, things got worse for Bungie when an artist provided ample evidence that some of Marathon’s artwork, design, and imagery had been ripped directly from their own work without permission, credit, or compensation. Bungie later confirmed the game contained the artist’s work and blamed it on a former employee. It vowed to do a full check of all art in the game and didn’t share any new gameplay or trailers.

Last week, PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst said during an interview that he was excited about Marathon launching “this fiscal year.” Notably, Hulst didn’t say September. As spotted by Kotaku’s own Ethan Gach, this seemed to be the first hint that Marathon would get delayed. Now it’s official. Marathon isn’t launching in three months. It might not even launch this year. We’ll find out one way or the other when Bungie reveals the troubled shooter’s new release date this fall.

Cardano Founder Announces $100 Million Bitcoin Buy In Shocking Move To Prop Up ADA Price

by admin June 16, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Charles Hoskinson has made an interesting proposal in a bid to boost Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem. The Cardano founder proposed creating a sovereign wealth fund, which could include up to $100 million worth of Bitcoin, potentially sparking an ADA price surge.

Cardano Founder Proposes Bitcoin Purchase To Boost ADA Price

In a recent podcast, the Cardano founder proposed the conversion of 5% to 10% of the treasury into assets like Bitcoin and stablecoins. Hoskinson suggested that this move is unlikely to negatively impact the ADA price but rather serve as a catalyst for a price surge. This proposal forms part of the move to create a decentralized Sovereign Wealth Fund for Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem.

Hoskinson further explained that this Sovereign Wealth Fund can be used to generate yields, while they will use the proceeds to purchase more Cardano and boost the ADA price. Over time, he believes they will be able to replenish the ADA, which they initially converted to Bitcoin and other crypto assets. The Cardano founder noted that they could continue this strategy on an annualized basis if it is successful.

He envisions that over the next five to ten years, they could potentially grow to become a billion-dollar stablecoin and Bitcoin treasury to augment the ADA price in the treasury. The Cardano founder remarked that this sets them up for great returns and a stable floor for the ecosystem.

Besides boosting the ADA price, Hoskinson also highlighted how this move could put Cardano on par with the likes of Solana and Ethereum. He noted that Ethereum and Solana are ahead in terms of stablecoin-to-TVL ratios, which enables them to lead in decentralized finance (DeFi). However, with this conversion, Cardano could increase DeFi activity on the network and ultimately increase its total value locked (TVL).

Comments On The Proposal

In an X post, a prominent Cardano community member, ‘Cardano Whale’, stated that they cannot support the 140 million sell pressure in current market conditions. The community member is apprehensive about how such a sale could negatively impact the ADA price. However, Cardano Whale acknowledged that this move could strengthen the Cardano DeFi ecosystem “significantly.”

The community member further remarked that such a sale is more appropriate when the ADA price is flying high and has turned, and then everyone has resigned to a new bear market. In response, the Cardano founder stated that the markets are deep, suggesting that such a sale is unlikely to impact the price.

Charles Hoskinson added that they could convert 140 million ADA over a week or so without moving the market using over-the-counter (OTC) and time-weighted average price (TWAP) strategies.

At the time of writing, the ADA price is trading at around $0.64, up almost 2% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Binance announces Defi App (HOME) listing and 200m airdrop for BNB holders

by admin June 12, 2025

Binance is launching a retroactive airdrop for active BNB holders with no new activity needed.

Binance has announced the 22nd project in its HODLers rewards program: the DeFi App (HOME). The airdrop will distribute 200 million HOME tokens to BNB holders who previously used Simple Earn or other on-chain yield programs.

The airdrop is retroactive and applies to users who interacted with yield products on Binance between June 6 and June 9. Distribution begins on June 12, after which the token will transition from Binance Alpha to the main exchange.

According to its developers, the HOME token, also known as DeFi App, is designed to make decentralized finance more accessible. It features gasless transactions across multiple blockchains and avoids the use of cross-chain bridges. The project also claims to offer full user custody over tokens.

DeFi App reported on June 10 that it had processed $15 billion in trading volume and attracted nearly 400,000 users since launch.

Binance Alpha airdrops are increasingly popular

The move is part of the Binance HODLer Airdrops program, which makes active users eligible for rewards based on their BNB (BNB) balances. Specifically, users who subscribe their BNB to Simple Earn are automatically eligible for the airdrops.

Binance has positioned the program as a user acquisition strategy. Data shows the Binance wallet has recently surpassed MetaMask and OKX in user volume, a trend some observers attribute to the Alpha rewards program.

However, the strategy is not without controversy. Namely, some Binance users are complaining that Alpha users are getting all rewards, while testnet users are getting overlooked. Disgruntled users even started a #StopBinanceAlpha hashtag on X.

Paralives, the long-anticipated indie Sims-like, finally announces an early access release date, adding to 2025’s already packed life sim line-up

by admin June 9, 2025

It’s been almost exactly six years since developer Alex Massé (of PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator fame) announced his indie life sim Paralives; now, the game finally has an early access release date, courtesy of its appearance at last night’s PC Gaming Show at Summer Game Fest. And, as promised, it’s going to be coming out this year – although you’re going to have to wait until December 8 to get your hands on this painterly Sims-like.

The project originated as a solo effort from Massé, but the Paralives team has now expanded to around a dozen developers, supported by a Patreon that pulls in around $30K a month from fans eager to see a serious indie rival to EA’s long-running The Sims franchise.

Paralives clearly takes a lot of cues from the life sim giant that’s been doing the rounds for a full quarter-century now, and long-time Simmers will be on familiar footing when they encounter the core gameplay loop. But there’s plenty to recommend Paralives on its own merits, from its softly stylised art style that advertises its crowd-pleasing cosiness, to its back-to-basics approach to life simulation that aims for loving detail over expansive scope.

The release date trailer confirmed my suspicions that Paralives could well be considered a spiritual successor to earlier generations of The Sims, focusing on daily life in an impossibly gorgeous little town where the architecture and decor of aspirational yet lived-in family homes take centre-stage. Paralives also seems very grounded – there’s no sign of the urban fantasy themes that frequently slip into The Sims (which I love, for the record, but recognise that not every Simmer does) – with trailers focussing on that ideal of middle-class suburbia that was a hallmark of The Sims back in the day.

Grab a coffee with friends, go to yoga class, play catch with your adorable two-point-five kids on your well-manicured lawn, and then have a sobbing breakdown in the bathroom once the family’s in bed – this is surely the dream of adulthood that was sold to me when the life sim genre first hit it big at the turn of the millennium.

Massé’s team have previously asserted that they plan to keep Paralives add-ons free for all players – in stark contrast to EA’s practice of expanding The Sims with countless paid DLCs at various price points – and although they haven’t yet outlined exactly how they plan to do this, it’s reasonable to suspect that some kind of early access deal for Patrons might be part of the plan.

Paralives isn’t the only life sim in the news this week, as fellow Sims rival inZOI has emerged from hiding to announce a release date for its first major content update since its launch; the update finally remembers to properly enable same-gender romance (just in time for Pride Month!) as well as the much-anticipated arrival of mod support. And The Sims 4 itself hasn’t been quiet either, releasing a summer content roadmap teasing the long-awaited return of fairies in the new Enchanted By Nature expansion pack that’s being officially revealed this month, too.
