An Intel Core i7-14700 CPU box, along with a cleaned-off version of the Core i5-13500 that was inside, next to a syringe of thermal paste
Product Reviews

I managed to snag a Core i5 CPU for $10, because someone scammed Amazon out of an i7-14700

by admin September 19, 2025

The other day, I stopped into a local Amazon returns store on my lunch break. You probably know the type: chaotically overflowing other people’s returned orders, with half-open boxes scattered about in huge bins. It’s like some kind of post-apocalyptic ball pit game show, where you might find something worthwhile if you wade through enough discarded shelving kits, no-name iPhone cases, and shoe insoles. This particular store is only a few months old, and I’d visited a few times without finding much (other than a pair of insoles, which I needed because I walk 9-10 miles a day).

On this trip, the first day after a weekly restock, when everything in the bins costs $10, I managed to find a roll of Creality 3D printer PLA filament. That’s not a huge discount over its typical Amazon sale price, but I happened to need a new spool for my Anycubic printer, and I was a few blocks from home, so this saved me the hassle of ordering. After a few more minutes pawing through returns, I hadn’t found anything else and went up to pay. But there was a line, and I wound up waiting at the corner of one of the closest bins to the register. Killing time, I idly dug around while I waited, and soon spotted the familiar blue of an Intel CPU box. I flipped it over and saw an i7-14700 sticker!

Could I really have just found the frequency-locked version of Intel’s last-generation flagship for $10? And if so, had someone returned it because of the notorious instability issues? Something else? I could see the CPU in its plastic clamshell through the cardboard window. The back looked OK, but the top was covered in thermal paste.

I was suspicious, but by this time, I was next in line, curious, and decided to gamble $10 on Intel. That’s maybe not the smartest wager I could make in 2025, but I was curious, and figured this would at least be more interesting than wasting money on a scratch-off ticket. I checked out with three items: the filament, the CPU, and another pair of shoe insoles – seriously, I wear those things out and can never have enough.

After paying my $32.25 after tax, I stepped outside, wishing I had a napkin to immediately wipe the thermal paste off with. Instead, I slacked my coworkers about what I had found, while I marched back to my apartment. When I got home, I immediately opened the CPU box, grabbed a paper towel, and wiped the used thermal paste off the CPU’s IHS, to be met with immediate disappointment. This wasn’t a 14th Gen Core i7 after all!

But it was a 13th Gen Core i5 – a Core i5 13500, to be specific. Not quite one of the best CPUs, and a generation older than what the box promised, but still a very usable chip, with 14 cores, 20 threads, and a Turbo Frequency of 4.8 GHz. It’s not the fastest chip, but it currently sells for $264 at Newegg – not a bad pickup for $10. If it works, anyway.

So why was a 13th Gen Core i5 returned in a Core i7-14700 box? For those who haven’t already connected the dots, it’s likely that someone scammed Amazon by buying a new, higher-end chip than what they had, put the old one back in the box (helpfully obscured by thermal paste), and returned it for a refund. And Amazon, dealing as it does with millions of packages a day, seemingly accepted the return without checking that the returned product was actually what was returned, eventually selling it as part of a lot of liquidated returns.

I have no way to verify any of this, of course, but it seems the most likely scenario. And it’s certainly unsurprising that Amazon would just accept a return without paying someone to open the box, wipe off the thermal paste, and confirm they had received the Core i7-14700 the customer had ordered. There’s no way Amazon could continue to run its business if it had to do something like that with even half of its returns.

Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox.

The only lingering question I had was whether my $10 13th Gen Core i5 CPU actually works. So I grabbed my trusty Hoto screwdriver, removed the AIO waterblock on the system that previously served as our external SSD storage testbed, and removed the 12th Gen Core i5 CPU that previously resided in the LGA 1700 socket. I then dropped my 13th Gen Core i5 into the motherboard, applied five small drops of thermal paste, re-attached the cooler, and plugged the system back in.

I pressed the power button and stared at the blackness of my test bench monitor for what felt like too many seconds, but eventually I saw the spinning circle and soon the familiar Windows 11 login screen. The old system booted up without an issue, and after running a few benchmarks, it looks like my $10 chip performs as expected.

Now the only question is, what should I do with it? I don’t need another gaming rig – I’m writing this on an AMD Ryzen 7950X / Nvidia RTX 4090 PC I built back in 2023, and I already have a few other systems and CPUs for testing PC cases and accessories. Maybe I’ll build a system for a family member or friend.

All I know is, while it didn’t turn out to be a 14th Gen Core i7 promised on the box, I’m happy with the results of my $10 CPU gamble, and I wonder what I’ll find at the returns store next week. I don’t really need any more PC hardware, but if I could pass up enticing tech that I don’t really need, I probably wouldn’t have gotten into this crazy business in the first place.

Amazon October Prime Day 2025: how to find the best deals

by admin September 19, 2025

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days is one of the biggest shopping events of the year, and it’s returning October 7th and 8th. The two-day shopping affair will grant Prime members access to some of the best prices of the year on Amazon devices, as well as products from Sony, Sonos, Microsoft, Apple, Withings, and other well-known brands. This applies to items spanning a range of categories, including gaming peripherals, laptops, 4K TVs, phones, PC accessories, and more.

As always, you can count on us to publish only the best deals during Prime Big Deal Days — as well as any worthwhile ones featured at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and other competing retailers. That said, if you want to be sure you catch any and all deals that are most important to you — or be among the first to know of certain price drops — we’ve compiled some helpful tools and advice.

Below, we’ve spelled out a few of our best deal-hunting tips, from how to use automated price trackers to the different ways you can set up your own personalized deal alerts. All of these methods and tools are free to use, and once you put in just a little bit of work, you can rest easy knowing that you don’t need to take much action until it comes time to make a purchase.

Use a price-tracking tool or deal aggregator

CamelCamelCamel’s extension helps you keep tabs on historical price trends with useful graphs like these. Image: CamelCamelCamel

CamelCamelCamel tracks the price of every product sold on Amazon and can send you alerts only when they reach the price that’s right for you. Once a product reaches the desired price you’ve set (or goes below it), you’ll get an email about it. CamelCamelCamel only works for products on Amazon, so you’ll need to use one of the other methods below if you want to track price movement at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and other retailers.

To track prices and get alerts via email, you’ll first need to create a free account. We also suggest installing the site’s browser extension, called The Camelizer, which lets you see pricing trends on a product-by-product basis, and allows you to set your desired price without navigating away from Amazon. It’s fantastic and easy to use.

And, if you already have a wishlist saved on Amazon, you can import it into CamelCamelCamel.

Slickdeals allows you to set up custom alerts for specific keywords, though finding the right parameters can be a trial and error process. Screenshot: Slickdeals

Slickdeals aggregates some of the best deals around the internet, as discovered by its team and community of users. It’s a great place to find a curated set of deals on things you might be interested in. The site also allows you to create deal alerts based on keywords, but they work a little differently on Slickdeals than they do on the above sites.

You can type in a product name, like “Sonos Era 100” or a retailer’s name, and once it’s added to your list, you’ll be notified of a deal alert if it meets your criteria. You can set it to alert you to any deal related to your keyword, or you can filter out deals so that you’ll be notified if, for example, the deal is popular enough to make it to Slickdeals’ front page or earned a high rating from the community. Setting these keywords a little too broadly may result in frequent notification pings and emails, though, so you’ll need to use some discretion and find the right balance of how aggressively you want Slickdeals to notify you.

Unlike the Honey extension and The Camelizer, Keepa integrates historical pricing data directly into the Amazon product listing. Screenshot: Keepa

Keepa is another handy tool you can use to track and compare Amazon prices over time. Like CamelCamelCamel, Keepa provides charts that track pricing trends and will alert you when it finds a deal. You can also import any wishlists you’ve previously saved on Amazon.

Unlike CamelCamelCamel, however, you don’t necessarily need to create an account in order to track prices with Keepa. You just need to install the extension, and Keepa will automatically add a price history graph to supported product listings. The embedded extension features different tabs as well, one of which showcases pricing history and another that allows you to specify various pricing details. Once you’ve set your desired price, you’ll then receive price alerts via email, push notification, or RSS.

Set up deal alert notifications through Alexa or the Amazon app

If you’re a Prime member who owns a fourth-gen Echo speaker or a newer model, you can also request that Amazon send you deal notifications up to 24 hours ahead of time on products you’re interested in. Amazon can alert you of price drops on eligible products in your shopping cart or wishlist, as well as anything you’ve marked as “saved for later.” To enable the feature, tap More > Settings > Notifications in the Alexa app, and then tap Amazon Shopping. Then, scroll down to Shopping Recommendations and enable Deal Recommendations. Once done, you’ll receive a notification on both your device and your Echo speaker (the latter in the form of a yellow ring) notifying you of the deal.

Alternatively, you can sign up to receive deal alerts regarding products you’ve recently viewed in the Amazon Shopping app, as well as those related to your recent search history. If you’re a Prime member, you just need to navigate to the Prime Day event page in the mobile app between now and July 8th to create an alert. Once done, you’ll receive push notifications for any deal(s) you’ve subscribed to when the event begins. You can also just open the Amazon Shopping app and tap Settings > Notifications > Deals and Recommendations before toggling “Savings” and / or “Recommendations.”

Look for deals outside of Amazon

Prime Day is meant to show off Amazon’s huge retail presence, so, naturally, other retail chains take notice. Because of this, you can sometimes find better deals at retailers like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. At the very least, they may be able to match Amazon’s pricing if you ask.

If Amazon’s upcoming sale doesn’t have everything you want or if you just want to make sure you’re getting the best deal, shop around a bit. In the past, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy have hosted their own events in an effort to counter Amazon. And as usual, you’ll be able to find all of our deals coverage in and outside of Amazon here.

We’re a discerning bunch here at The Verge, so don’t fret if you’re going into this without any prep. We’ll be corralling the best tech deals and keeping our coverage up to date in the run-up to the main event. So mark October 7th on your calendar, sign up for Amazon Prime and our new and improved Verge Deals newsletter, and maybe start putting aside a little spending cash.

Spawn Limited Edition 4K Blu-Ray – Save Big On Your Preorder At Amazon

by admin September 18, 2025

Back in the ’90s, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn was one of the hottest comic books on shelves. The flagship series for Image Comics, Spawn’s popularity spilled into mainstream pop culture with its own line of toys, an animated HBO series, and –perhaps most notably–a feature film adaptation in 1997 starring Michael Jai White as the titular antihero. Now, almost 18 years later, the grim superhero film is getting a limited-edition 4K release from Arrow Video, which is on a roll with 4K restorations of cult classics.

Spawn Limited Edition includes theatrical and director’s cuts as well as premium packaging, new artwork, and a few collectibles. Preorders opened at $50 in late July, but Amazon and Walmart are now offering a substantial discount that drops the price to $32 ahead of its October 7 release.

$32 (was $50) | Releases October 7

Arrow Video restored the Theatrical and Director’s Cuts in native 4K (2160p) resolution using the original camera negatives. Both versions support High Dynamic Range with Dolby Vision and HDR10. Audio options include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and lossless stereo.

The Limited Edition is packaged in a reversible sleeve with new artwork. You’ll also get an illustrated booklet with fresh commentary and a double-sided, fold-out poster.

The main difference between the Theatrical and Director’s Cut is the tone, as a lot of the violence was removed to secure a PG-13 rating. Other than that, the Director’s Cut is less than three minutes longer than the Theatrical Cut, but the extra violence pushes it into R-rated territory.

There’s also a ton of bonus materials, such as a a brand-new audio commentary with comic book expert and podcast host Dave Baxter, and new interviews with the film’s cast and crew. You can also explore archival content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, promotional materials, and audio commentary tracks, many of which are from previous DVD and Blu-ray releases. You can check out the full list of features below.

Spawn Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray Bonus Features

  • HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10
  • Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 / Lossless Stereo

Disc 2: Theatrical Cut (Rated PG-13)

  • 4K resolution (2160p)
  • HDR: Dolby Vision and HDR10
  • Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 / Lossless Stereo
  • English subtitles

Spawn tells the story of ruthlessly efficient black ops soldier Al Simmons. Betrayed and murdered by his commanding officer, Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen), Simmons is sent to hell for his sins, but he is resurrected on Earth by the devil Malebolgia as part of a grand scheme to kickstart the apocalypse. Empowered with the might of Hell, Simmons finds himself torn between his quest for revenge, dark forces, and salvation.

While it’s not on the same level as Blade–which arrived a year later and is credited for modernizing superhero movies–there’s still a lot to love about Spawn. It’s not afraid to be a comic book movie, and it mixed impressive practical effects with groundbreaking CGI at the time to bring the character to life. With Michael Jai White as the tortured antihero, the movie had a terrific leading man opposed by John Leguizamo’s character of Clown, who could transform into the monstrous Violator when backed into a corner.

A movie night with Spawn followed up by Blade would make for a great double feature. Blade is already available on 4K Blu-ray for only $21.41 (was $35). Alternatively, you can grab Blade Trilogy for just $12 on 1080p Blu-ray.

Spawn graphic novels

Spawn Compendiums: Color Editions (Paperback)

If you want to check out the comic books that turned Spawn into a household name, the Compendium Collection paperbacks are a nice budget-friendly option. Image Comics has been releasing updated, full-color editions over the past few years. Seven massive volumes are available now. Volume 7 was just published September 9. Fair warning: All of the Compendiums eclipse 1,000 pages, so these take up considerable shelf space. Each one retails for $60, but you can save some cash at Amazon right now. Volume 1, for instance, is discounted to only $34.

Spawn: Origins Deluxe Editions (Hardcover)

The Deluxe Editions are printed on larger, higher-quality paper and are hardbound rather than paperback. Each Deluxe Edition comes with a fancy slipcase. But while these are large books in their own right, each one contains about half as many comics as the Compendium Editions.

Berserk Deluxe Editions Are Steeply Discounted At Amazon

by admin September 17, 2025

The best-selling Deluxe Editions of Berserk are up for grabs for great prices at Amazon. Each lavish hardcover edition carries a $50 retail price, but you can save around $20 or more on most of the Deluxe Editions. Published by Dark Horse, the 14 Deluxe Editions contain every volume in the popular manga series written and illustrated by the late Kentaro Miura, the creator of the epic dark fantasy series. New readers can pick up Berserk Deluxe Edition Vol. 1 for only $28.65 (was $50). The 696-page hardcover includes the first three volumes in Miura’s brilliant and brutal tale of swords, sorcery, and defying fate.

Berserk Deluxe Edition Manga

Berserk Deluxe Editions (Dark Horse)

Berserk is a dark fantasy series that follows Guts, a former mercenary on a quest for revenge. If you’re willing to take the dive, you’ll find a haunting and tragic story for mature audiences, as it holds nothing back and regularly delivers brutal content on every page.

Each elegantly designed hardcover volume is made of durable leatherette and contains three individual volumes reprinted in oversized format. They are shrink-wrapped when purchased in new condition. These hardcovers are roughly 700 pages each, so they can take up considerable shelf space.

Miura’s final contributions to Berserk were collected in Deluxe Edition Vol. 14, the only Deluxe release that doesn’t include three individual volumes. Instead, the newest Deluxe Edition pairs Volumes 40 and 41 with the Berserk Official Guidebook, which helps contextualize your reading experience with background information and expanded lore. The guidebook is also sold separately in paperback for $11.30 (was $15).

Complete your Berserk Collection

Dark Horse published Berserk Volume 42 in paperback and ebook format on March 18; fans can snag a paperback copy for $11.80 (was $15) at Amazon. It’s the first new volume since Miura’s death in 2021. The 192-page paperback comes with a fold-out, double-sided cover and continues the Fantasia storyline, the manga’s fifth story arc. Volume 42’s creation was overseen by Miura’s best friend, Koji Mori, and written and illustrated by Miura’s assistants.

Another notable Berserk book to check out is The Flame Dragon Knight, a novel set in the world of Berserk. Based on a story idea by Kentaro Miura and written by Makoto Fukami, Berserk: The Flame Dragon Knight is a 192-page side story that chronicles the origins of one of Berserk’s main antagonists. Berserk: The Flame Dragon Knight is available in paperback for $15.

Berserk Manga Paperback Edition Deals

Berserk Volume 42

If you’d prefer smaller books, all 42 volumes collected in the Deluxe Editions remain in print in traditional trade paperback. Each individual volume is roughly 200 pages and carries a $15 MSRP, though you can often save a few bucks on these at Amazon. We’ve listed the first 15 trade paperbacks below.

Just keep in mind that it’s frequently more expensive to buy three of the trade paperbacks instead of the corresponding hardcover edition. For instance, it would cost you roughly $36 to purchase the first three standard editions–eight bucks more than the first Deluxe Edition.

Note: Amazon’s store page for the complete series in paperback only shows Kindle editions/prices. You’ll need to click on the volume you’re looking for to see the paperback price for books beyond Volume 15.

Berserk: The Complete 1997 TV Series

Berserk has received multiple TV and film adaptations over the years. The 1997 anime series remains the most beloved interpretation of Miura’s story. It released on Blu-ray last year but is currently sold out.

Berserk’s Golden Age Arc, a trilogy of movies that debuted in 2012-13, also arrived on Blu-ray last year. The Golden Age Arc: Memorial Edition recuts the three movies into a 13-episode television-style arc. It’s on sale for 35% off at Amazon, dropping the price to $45.80 (was $70).

Lastly, there’s the 2016 adaptation, which has its fans but is generally regarded as a missed opportunity due to subpar animation. Nevertheless, the 2016 series picks up where the Golden Age Arc ends and has some great characters and story threads across its 24-episode arc. Berserk 2016: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is up for grabs for $39.62 (was $70) at Amazon.

by admin September 17, 2025

As the weather starts cooling down and we start spending incrementally more time indoors week after week, there’s never been a better time to get yourself an iPad. Whether you plan on using it to catch up on emails, to doomscroll on your preferred social media app, or to just pour more hours into Balatro but on a larger screen than your phone, the Apple iPad Air might be what you’re looking for. This 2025 model iPad normally starts at $599, but Amazon is running a limited time deal that’s bringing the price down by 25%. This $150 savings means you’ll only have to pay as low as $449.

Powerful Performance

So AI has been a pretty big buzzword this past year. Will it be the future of consumer tech? Or is it just a speculative fixation like we went through with NFTs. We’ll find out in due time. Though for right now, Apple and companies like it have promised a ton to consumers with the inclusion of their own proprietary AI models they’re sticking into their products. Apple has Apple Intelligence which can be used to help you craft messages, generate images, and things of the like. The M3 chip is powerful enough to make local processing for Ai models such as this possible.

Beyond AI, the M3 chip allows for improved performance on power-hungry apps, letting you run them side-by-side with each other with no hiccups. Graphically intensive games also get a boost.

To get the full use out of your Apple iPad Air, you can pick up the Apple Pencil Pro (sold separately). Use it to quickly jot down notes, draw or edit photos, and more. It’s compatible with tons of productivity and art apps on the App Store.

Finally get yourself that iPad you’ve been telling yourself you would with the 2025 model iPad Ai powered by Apple’s M3 chipset. Most versions are on sale right now for $150 off.

Amazon Prime Video joins Masters coverage for first, second round

by admin September 16, 2025

Sep 16, 2025, 10:57 AM ET

More Masters coverage, you want? More Masters coverage, you’ll get.

Amazon Prime Video is joining ESPN, CBS and Paramount+ as broadcast partners of the Masters in 2026, airing two hours of coverage — from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET — during the first and second rounds in April.

The 2026 Masters will have 27 total hours of broadcast coverage, which is 50% more than was broadcast in 2024.

“Working alongside Amazon in this capacity is an exciting opportunity for the Masters Tournament and its fans,” Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said in a release. “We are proud of our longstanding partnerships with CBS Sports and ESPN, who have set the highest standard for broadcast coverage of the Masters. The addition of Amazon will only further our abilities to expand and enhance how the Tournament is presented and enjoyed.”

The broadcast window for Prime Video will precede ESPN’s coverage during the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday. Paramount+ and CBS will air live coverage during the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

“It’s an honor for all of us to become a broadcast partner of the Masters Tournament and to provide four additional hours of coverage,” said Jay Marine, head of Prime Video for U.S. and Global Sports. “We are humbled and proud to begin our relationship with Augusta National Golf Club and cannot wait to get started.”

CBS began its coverage of the Grand Slam event in 1956. ESPN started broadcasting the first and second rounds in 2008. Paramount+ streamed two hours of coverage for the first time earlier this year.

How to Shop Like a Pro During Amazon Prime Day (2025)

by admin September 16, 2025

Ask Alexa’s Echo Dot for the time and weather, and to play music. Also, a pro tip: You can use it in the kitchen as a timer while cooking.

How Do I Know Whether a Deal Is Good?

ABC: Always be checking (prices, that is). Researching an item’s price is the most important aspect of determining the quality of a discount. Don’t fall prey to deceptive marketing language and inflated MSRP prices—our tips only take a few moments. The easiest step is to take a second to Google the items you’re considering so you can see the price across multiple stores.

One tool we like to use is Camelcamelcamel, which tracks Amazon’s prices over time. Paste the Amazon link or ASIN (found in the Product Information section on the Amazon product page) into Camelcamelcamel’s search bar and you’ll be able to see an item’s lowest recorded price, its average price, and how frequently the price fluctuates. Some deals, such as Lightning Deals, are excluded from the pricing history, but it’s useful to see what an item has sold for in the past. We also like Keepa, which has an extension (available for multiple browsers) that shows the recent price history for products directly on the Amazon page so you don’t have to open a new tab.

Keep in mind that these services may not work all the time. But being able to see how much a product costs right before the sale starts (and whether the MSRP happened to increase) can be helpful. Putting these tools together can help you deduce whether a deal is worth your money.

WIRED always fact-checks deals to determine their quality. You can check out our ongoing deals coverage to find roundups of the best discounts available—during Prime Day and year-round.

Amazon’s Kindles are the best e-readers around. Also, waterproof!

What’s a Lightning Deal?

Lightning Deals are limited-time deals that Amazon runs for only a few hours. They’re not restricted to Prime Day, but they’re especially prevalent during big sales events. Once an item sells out, you may be able to join a waiting list, but not always.

Put bluntly, the Lightning Deals selection is often full of impulse buys, like makeup and skin-care products or toys. Prime members can browse upcoming deals on Amazon’s website and in the mobile app. The app can also alert you before a Lightning Deal begins. We’ll share some of our favorite Lightning Deals in a live blog during the event this year.

How Does the Invite-Only Deals System Work?

The best deals sometimes sell out quickly. To get around this, Amazon launched an invite-only deals program during Prime Day. Prime members can request an invitation to purchase items that are expected to sell out. This feature is only available on select products, but it’s spread across a wide range of price points and categories—including kitchen, electronics, fashion, and beauty.

On the page, you’ll see a Request Invite button on the right-hand side. Click it to get a chance to buy it at the sale price, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be invited. According to an Amazon spokesperson, the company removes “botlike submissions” from the list of requests and selects from the remaining customers. However, it’s not clear how Amazon chooses from the remaining list of interested buyers.

Lego Super Mario: The Mighty Bowser Is On Sale At Amazon Right Now

by admin September 15, 2025

The massive 2,807-piece Mighty Bowser Lego set is on sale for $250 at Amazon. Normally $270, the elaborate Super Mario display model for adults is the largest Lego Nintendo set so far. Despite launching back in October 2022, The Mighty Bowser rarely receives price cuts. It’s worth noting that Walmart briefly had it for $219 a couple months back, but Amazon’s current deal is still noteworthy due to how uncommon discounts are for this particular Lego Super Mario set. The Mighty Bowser deal is shipped and sold directly from Amazon.

The Mighty Bowser is one of three Lego Nintendo display models Amazon has in stock for discounted prices right now. The best deal is Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi for $104 (was $130).

$250 (was $270)

Bowser may consistently fail in his attempts to rule the Mushroom Kingdom alongside Princess Peach, but he does own the record for highest brick count in the Lego Super Mario series. At 2,807 pieces, Mighty Bowser stole the crown from the replica Nintendo Entertainment System kit (2,646 pieces).

Once fully built, King Koopa is 12.5 inches tall and 16 inches wide, so you may need to clear some shelf space to display the big guy. With the included stand and Bowser’s tail, the build has a depth of 11 inches.

While you could call The Mighty Bowser a statue, it’s also a giant action figure. His tail, arms, and legs are posable, so you can display Bowser in a variety of different poses. In addition to articulated joints, Bowser’s jaw snaps and buttons beneath it turn his head. He can also shoot fireballs to (try to) stop Mario from thwarting his plans once again. When on his stand, Bowser is flanked on each side by fiery towers.

There’s also a hidden POW Block, which was implemented specifically for Lego Mario, Luigi, and Peach figures to step on. While The Mighty Bowser isn’t considered a playset–it’s one of the five Lego Mario sets geared primarily toward adults–it does interact with the figures included in the starter courses. If you press Lego Mario against Bowser’s shell, he will react to Bowser’s presence.

For a cheaper Lego model of Bowser, check out the recently released, 1,251-piece Prince Florian & Castle Bowser set for $100. Fans of King Koopa can also get the recently discontinued Bowser’s Muscle Car set for $30 at Amazon.

Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi

As mentioned, The Mighty Bowser is one of eight Nintendo-themed Lego sets designed for adults. The newest addition to the lineup is the 421-piece Lego Game Boy, which releases October 1 and is back up for preorder at Walmart for $60. Preorders are sold out at multiple major retailers, including Amazon.

Amazon also has deals on two other Lego Super Mario display sets right now. The awesome Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi model shown above is discounted to $104 (was $130). The 1,215-piece build of Mario & Yoshi is designed to resemble Super Nintendo pixel art. With the crank on the side of the stand, Yoshi walks and bobs his head, and Mario’s cape flutters. And if you turn the dial on the back, Yoshi will stick out his tongue. The 20% discount is also available at Walmart and is the best deal yet for this nostalgic Lego Mario build.

For a more budget-friendly Lego Mario display set you can build now, check out the 540-piece Piranha Plant for $48 (was $60) at Amazon.

Forget Nintendo, My Arcade Atari Gamestation Go With 200+ Retro Video Games Including Pac-Man Is Now Up for Preorder on Amazon

by admin September 15, 2025

My Arcade has produced a number of miniature retro arcade cabinets supporting officially-licensed games from developers like Capcom and Sega. But now, they’ve just launched an Atari gaming handheld, the Gamestation Go, that just looks beautiful. Pre-orders have opened up earlier this week. You can head on over to Amazon to reserve yours at a price of $180.

200+ Video Games

The library is impressively stacked. Over 200 video games from yester-year, spanning the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, and Atari 7800 along with Atari Arcade as well as Jaleco and PIKO platforms. Play titles like Breakout, PAC-MAN, Balls of Steel, Missile Command, Centipede, and Asteroids. They all come pre-loaded, no download necessary. It does state is has built-in Wi-Fi for easy updates, but it’s unclear if that could mean more games added at some point in the future.

Design-wise the Atari Gamestation Go looks similar to a Nintendo Switch at a glance, with controller inputs along the side of a big 7-inch display. Also, like a Nintendo Switch, you can play its games on your TV. No dock required. Just a simple HDMI cable will allow you to put these classic titles on the big screen. You’ll probably want one with some decent length though as you’ll still be using the Atari handheld as the controller. It’s battery life will grant you about four to five hours of playtime on a single charge.

The original Atari consoles were well before we established the quintessential layout and design of modern video game controllers. My Arcade’s Atari handheld looks backward to the weird oddities of these old controllers, implementing multiple options like a trak-ball and numeric keypad. You can play these Atari titles authentically to these quirky inputs you just don’t see any more.

There are also all the modern conveniences like an analog stick, D-pad, bumpers and classic A-B-X-Y gamepad buttons (Notably in Xbox’s layout with the A button at the bottom). The various buttons, sticks, and other inputs are all illuminated with SmartGlow technology to both see the inputs in the dark and, more importantly, look cool.

The price point or $180 is a little rough. That’s more than half the cost of a Nintendo Switch for a console that just plays games from the 80s that are pretty easy to get your hands on for next to nothing elsewhere. This seems like a collector novelty more than anything, but definitely a cool thing to pick up if you want to escape skill trees and battle passes for awhile.

The Atari Gamestation Go is available to pre-order at Amazon and is set to release October 31 of this year.

Rosalina’s Storybook From Super Mario Galaxy Is Up For Preorder At Amazon

by admin September 15, 2025

Super Mario Galaxy fans can now preorder a physical edition of Rosalina’s Storybook. Revealed during the September Nintendo Direct alongside a Super Mario Galaxy game collection, Rosalina’s Storybook adapts the in-game book into a 112-page hardcover volume. Rosalina’s Storybook will be published by Dark Horse Books on November 25, just in time for the holidays. Preorders are available now for $25 at Amazon.

$25 | Releases November 25

The fully illustrated picture book details Rosalina’s journey to outer space, where she became the protector and leader of the Lumas. All nine chapters from the original in-game book are included. The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection for Switch and Switch 2 has a new chapter, but you won’t find those pages in this book.

With Amazon’s preorder price guarantee, you won’t be charged until your order ships and will automatically get any discounts offered before then.

Check out two of the pages from the upcoming physical edition of Rosalina’s Storybook below.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 launches October 2 in physical and digital format for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The physical edition is for original Switch consoles, but you can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free. On Switch 2, the collection will run in 4K resolution. Both games support traditional button/stick controls and motion controls. You can preorder the collection for $70 at Amazon, Walmart, and other major retailers. Check out our Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 preorder guide for more details.

Nintendo is also releasing its first Super Mario Galaxy Amiibo figures featuring Mario and Luma and Rosalina and Lumas. The new Amiibo are up for preorder for $40 each and are scheduled to launch April 2, 2026. The lengthy wait for the new Amiibo was likely intentional, as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases in theaters April 2026.

Dark Horse Super Mario Books

Dark Horse Books has previously collaborated with Nintendo on multiple Super Mario books, including Super Mario Encyclopedia and The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. Both of these highly rated hardcover books are steeply discounted at Amazon.

Rosalina’s Storybook will be the longest Super Mario picture book, but there are other books parents can read to kids while they wait for their preorder to arrive, including Super Mario Little Golden Book and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. We’d also recommend checking out the Super Mario Adventures comic collection and Super Mario Manga Mania.

Super Mario Adventures (Viz Media)

Rosalina’s Storybook will be the longest Super Mario picture book, but there are other books parents can read to kids while they wait for their preorder to arrive, including Super Mario Little Golden Book and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. We’d also recommend checking out the Super Mario Adventures comic collection and Super Mario Manga Mania.

Metroid is also getting a new book this fall

One of Nintendo’s other highly anticipated games also has a companion book you can preorder now. Ahead of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s December 4 launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, fans can revisit the original trilogy in book format with Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective. The 208-page hardcover book was initially revealed last year with a June 2025 release date, but it was pushed back to October 28. Metroid fans can preorder the lavish retrospective for $46.49 (was $50) at Amazon. The clothbound hardcover has a metallic foil illustration of Samus on the cover and includes commentary and behind-the-scenes artwork from Retro Studios’ archives. Published by Piggyback–the team behind the highly rated Legend of Zelda strategy guides–the Metroid Prime Trilogy retrospective is the first Metroid book in a long time.
